The whole experience was excellent

The whole experience was excellent, from the moment I boarded the coach. Even though it was a long journey from Devon this was broken up with appropriate stops along the way. The drivers especially Allan and the staff at the hotel were, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, professional and had a good sense of humour. The hotel was clean, relaxed and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. I will certainly book another trip with Lochs and Glen who offer excellent value for money

The Argartan Hotel - amazing

We stayed at the Ardgartan Hotel and the hotel runs like a well-oiled machine. The staff were lovely and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Our drivers were amazing, especially Paul, who gave us lots of historical details about where we were and all the drivers kept us smiling throughout each excursion. If you are 50+, I would highly recommend it.

The whole holiday was just great

The whole holiday was just great. The hotel and coach trips were well organised and very friendly. The only thing that could have spoilt the holiday was the action of 2 neurological people who thought Paul was not capable of driving the coach, seem funny out of 57 people only 2 got off leaving 55 on the coach who must have trusted his driving. The abusive comment as they got the coach was totally uncalled for and unfair as he was a very good driver. People like these want to be banned from your tours as they can spoil a holiday. Lucky this happened on the last day of our holiday, if it had happened at the beginning of the holiday it would of ruined the whole holiday.

Magnificent Scotland

The beautiful scenery. The knowledge of our drivers on our excursions, their cheerful camaraderie. The beautiful hotel with all their amazing staff. Wonderful food and entertainment. What more can one say! I shall certainly be back with Lochs and Glens.

Overall good except room cleanliness

+ Journey to and from hotel perfect. Alex our driver was amazing and kept us updated on our days out which were mostly good Food was ok as expected catering for over 150 covers. - cleanliness of our room. Toilet seat was stained yellow, kettle rusty inside, pedal bin in the bathroom was rusty, cobwebs in the window frame . WHY OH WHY DO WE HAVE TO GO TO INVERARY EVERY TIME !!!!

SUNNY LOCH AWE

Everything is well organised as it should be with three coach parties visiting. Accommodation is a good standard while the historical aspect of the premises is retained to a high standard. Our request for a walkin shower was met, even contacting us the day before to ensure we could manage the stairs to our room. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food excellent. This was a return visit so I think that says something.

We were there at Christmas

We were there at Christmas, couldn’t wait to check it out again. Once more beyond expectations well done Ian and your wonderful staff were amazing. I will add journey this time was far less stressful as there were no weather and Dover holdups? Oh and thank you for the amazing weather you ordered for us!! my friends I persuaded to come are picking out the next trip!. Regards to all Jacqueline mullane

Excellent all round service and attention to…

Excellent service and attention to detail. Fantastic hotel, comfortable coaches with really pleasant drivers. Spotless accommodation in top notch hotel. Really positive and pleasant staff. Days out were great. Excellent dining arrangements. Simply couldn't fault it at all and all for a very reasonable price.

Inversnaid Hotel

Every aspect of the trip was excellent. Admittedly the waiting staff were quite muddled and often a long wait to be served, but maybe just more staff needed at the hotel. They were all very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble though. Our main driver Alex was excellent and we felt very safe in his hands. Hotel was very clean and was all we could want.

Hotel great location

Hotel great location, staff all friendly and helpful. Experienced coach drivers who were knowledgeable about Scottish history and folklore. Visit to the Falkirk Wheel was the highlight of this trip. Good group of fellow passengers.

Couldn’t fault a thing

Couldn’t fault a thing. Driver Andrew excellent and kept us informed of interesting things we passed on our tours. Coach was cleaned inside and out at end of each day. Room, food, service was good. Staff attentive and polite.

If you need a quiet bedroom do not use this company.

I enjoyed the trip very much, the coach drivers were superb and made sure we enjoyed wonderful scenery. When I arrived I was very happy with my room which had a view of the loch, railway line and forested hillside but later on I was dismayed to find it was directly above the entertainment area and the amplified music and singing was a pain. Thankfully it finished at 10.30 but on the last day when we returned from a trip there was recorded music played in the afternoon which was a pain when all I wanted to do was relax and maybe read my book. Unless they can guarantee me a quiet room I will not be travelling with them again.

Hotel excellent

Hotel excellent. Food excellent. Coach tours excellent. Kieran was a very knowledgeable polite driver. The only thing I didnt like was the long coach ride to get there and home (13 hours each way)

Well organized, thoroughly enjoyable trip

Well organized trip from start to finish. We had a great time at the Highland Hotel. The coach was comfortable (a few teething problems which were fixed during the week). The hotel was clean and the staff very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food choice was good and tasty. We've been to five of the hotels and can't really fault any of them. Just the Ardgartan to go!!!! Roll on next year!!

What a fabulous holiday

What a fabulous holiday. From the pickup by friendly driver Nick to the lovely hotel in Loch Achray we had a great experience. Stopping off at Gretna Green and seeing all the brides and groomsman, listening to the piper was a lovely time, you felt you were joining their special day too. The hotel was clean, bright and modern. The views from the bedrooms were superb. Great seeing the highland coos in the field at the front of hotel. All the staff were super friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend Lochs and Glens and hope to travel with them again

Nothing is ever any bother

Nothing is ever any bother. Wonderful service at The Highland Hotel, the food is excellent and the room service wonderful. The drivers were superb and even the evening entertainment was great,

A warm welcome awaits

Surrounded by woods and secret glens the Loch Tummel Hotel offers inspiring views across Loch Tummel. The surrounding area is steeped in local history of clan battles and Jacobite rebellions. Nestled in the heart of Perthshire there is an abundance of natural woodland, beautiful landscapes and unusual wildlife to be explored too.

The Loch Tummel Hotel stands on the old estate of Kynachan, on the shore of Loch Tummel. Lochs and Glens Holidays discovered this site in 1996 and the Loch Tummel Hotel was custom built to accommodate coach tours.

Loch Lomond Tours

Tours to loch lomond.

Scotland’s largest loch is your introduction to the spectacular Highlands on many of our small group tours. This famous body of water is the beating heart of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. 720 square miles of diverse scenery from lush rolling countryside and thick forest, to vast glens and craggy mountains. As we sojourn up the loch’s western shores you’ll have a fantastic view of Ben Lomond. It’s Scotland’s most southerly Munro (a mountain over 3000 feet high).

The traditional village of Luss on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, is a stop on our many of our 1 day tours from Glasgow & Edinburgh, as well as our Shore Excursions from Greenock. Its cottages have been beautifully preserved from the 18 th and 19 th centuries. In the summer the villagers take great pride in their lavish floral displays. Luss has been a Christian settlement for at least 1500 years and its wonderfully restored church with its lychgate is well worth a visit. There’s even evidence of the Vikings having raided this area in 1263 in their stone ‘hogback’ grave in the atmospheric churchyard.

We can also enjoy a paddle on the lovely beach or alternatively take a wander onto the picturesque Luss pier with an ice cream, during our three and four day tours to the Highlands, Skye and Mull. We also stop here on our six day island hopping tours to Mull, Iona, Skye, the Highlands and Loch Ness. All of these tours depart from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

For guests on our one day tours to Loch Ness, Haunting Glencoe and the Highlands, and to Glenfinnan Viaduct, Mallaig & Glencoe from Glasgow; there’s a stop further north for refreshments and photos on the side of Loch Lomond.

For those looking for a more bespoke experience, we also offer private tours to Loch Lomond. With the opportunity to personalise your itinerary you can really explore what the loch has to offer. From kayaking to tree top adventures, there’s options for everyone including the thrill seekers out there.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Gazing across a gorgeous loch enjoying a coach tour with Lochs and Glens

About Lochs and Glens

Lochs and Glens Holidays is a family owned company, providing high quality coach holidays and tours to Scotland since 1979. For over 40 years we have expanded and developed throughout the Highlands to ensure that there is a hotel and itinerary to suit every taste. We pride ourselves in our high quality service, great hospitality and competitive prices whilst showcasing the best that Scotland has to offer.

We have been perfecting our coach holidays and tours for decades and tailor make our itineraries to explore all sorts of attractions. The company was founded in 1979 with one hotel in Arrochar but by 1990 our portfolio included 4 hotels and many of our own coaches. In 1999 the Loch Tummel Hotel was purpose-built by Lochs and Glens, followed by the purchase of the Highland Hotel in 2008 which was subsequently stripped down and renovated. After 8 years of planning and negotiation the Ardgartan Hotel finally opened its doors in 2012, just a few miles from Arrochar where the company began so many years before.

For the past 40 years we have continued to expand, refurbish and renovate the properties, whilst constantly modernising our coaches and developing a broader range of exciting itineraries.
