4 Pros and Cons of Booking Disney Travel With Costco

From Disney gift cards to free parking and shop cards to be used at Costco, here are the perks that come with booking Disney vacations through Costco.

A Disney vacation can be a truly memorable experience for your children, but it's certainly not one of the most budget-friendly family adventures you'll ever embark on. Thankfully, there are ways to make this type of vacation slightly more affordable (or at least more value-oriented.)

Among the options is booking your family's Disney vacation through Costco Travel, a division of the big-box wholesale store. Costco Travel Assistant Vice President Chris Hendrix tells Parents that the company aims to offer convenient, one-stop shopping for all Disney travel needs.

To that end, Costco Travel offers vacation packages to Walt Disney World and Disneyland that include both hotels and tickets. Costco Travel also arranges packages to Disney's luxe Aulani Resort in Hawaii, as well as guided vacations with Adventures by Disney, and getaways with Disney Cruise Line.

Those who have gone the Costco route before likely already know there are a variety of perks for Costco members who book their Disney travel through the wholesale club—including receiving special savings on various incidental costs associated with a Disney visit as well as a few special value-added features thrown in by the discount giant.

"Booking a Disney vacation package through Costco can come with some great benefits including breakfast, resort credits, upgrades, and waived resort fees depending on the hotel you chose," says Chris Hassan, a family travel writer for UpgradedPoints. "This can represent huge savings for a family over the course of a week."

However, there are some considerations you should make before booking. Here are the pros and cons of booking a Disney vacation with Costco.

4 Pros of a Disney Vacation with Costco

1. you can score free disney gift cards.

One of the most frequently cited perks associated with booking Disneyland Resort packages through Costco are the gift cards that Costco throws in as a special added benefit for members.

Here's how it works, according to Costco: Members who book a multi-day vacation package at a Disneyland onsite resort receive a Disney gift card for up to $245 (one per package—exact value depends on the length of vacation booked). The gift card can be used to pay for Disney shopping and dining, including the wildly popular character dining. This perk even extends to those who book stays at some offsite hotels, or "Good Neighbor" hotels, as Costco calls them. Members who book a multi-day package at a Good Neighbor hotel receive a $145 Disney gift card .

"The Disney gift cards with Costco packages are a great way of helping you splurge on your trip, allowing you to do something you wouldn't normally want to budget for. Perhaps that means buying a special souvenir or maybe giving you the chance to book a character meal," Kimberly Tate, founder of Stuffed Suitcase and also the Vacation Mavens podcast, tells Parents.

Costco members can also receive extra savings at select Downtown Disney District dining and shopping locations, says Hendrix.

2. Other trips = Disney shop cards

Slightly different than the gift cards, Costco provides shop cards to those who book vacations through Costco Travel for Aulani, Disney Cruise Line, and Adventures by Disney. The exact amount of the card varies based upon the trip booked and the length of stay (or sailing). The value of the shop card is calculated during the booking process, Michelle Rupp, a buyer for Costco Travel tells Parents.

"The card is sent to the Costco members about 2 to 4 weeks after they return from their vacation or cruise and may be used toward merchandise or gas at any Costco warehouse throughout the United States or Canada," says Rupp.

3. Enjoy complimentary parking

All of Costco's Walt Disney World Resort on-site packages include complimentary parking at all Walt Disney World theme parks and at Disney Springs.

"We have also negotiated with some of the off-site hotels to include in our packages complimentary parking at the hotel," says Rupp. Examples on this front include Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace, Melia Orlando Celebration, and Sheraton Vistana Resort Villas, to name a few.

" This can save you money if you're planning to drive to the parks instead of using the resort transportation," says Tate.

4. Nab discounts by bundling

For both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World, packages booked through Costco include both hotel accommodations and park tickets. Combining these items together provides booking convenience for travelers and additional savings, says Costco's Rupp.

"Regardless of the type of [park entrance] ticket included in the package, Costco members receive extra savings on the bundled package…The longer the admission days of the tickets (up to 10 days), the deeper the discount," explains Rupp.

4 Cons to Consider

Summer Hull, editorial director for The Points Guy, says booking Disney vacations through Costco Travel can definitely be cheaper than booking elsewhere, but there are limitations to who might benefit. Here are some potential drawbacks to consider.

1. Short trips may not benefit

"I've seen Disney vacations booked through Costco Travel be as much as $1,000 cheaper— even for a medium-priced fam vacation to Disney, " Hull tells Parents. "The catch is you can only book stays three days or longer with them. So, if you're going for just a weekend, it doesn't work."

2. You may lose some direct Disney access

Hull says that booking a Disney vacation through a third party can sometimes complicate life when there's a problem or issue that needs to be addressed.

"Sometimes Disney is not able to help as much when you're adding a third-party player to that equation," continues Hull, who says that if she's not booking a vacation directly with Disney, she generally opts for a vacation planner that specializes in Disney such as Mouse Counselors .

Disney vacation planners will do everything from getting you dining reservations to waking up early to book Disney fast passes for you—so that you can simply relax and enjoy your getaway. The beauty of this type of service is that it doesn't cost you a dime. Planners work on commission and are not paid by the person booking the vacation.

"They eliminate a lot of hassle," explains Hull. "There are a million of these planners out there, and typically none of them add any additional cost. They wake up early and handle all of those annoying things you don't want to deal with. And if my plans change for some reason, they will be the ones on hold with Disney, not me."

Still, adds Hull, for someone who's simply chasing the cheapest option for a Disney visit and who is also visiting (or sailing) for at least three days, Costco can certainly be worth it.

3. There could be airline limitations

One last drawback to consider is that Costco does not work with every airline, so if you prefer to fly certain carriers (such as JetBlue or Spirit), you may be out of luck, says Hassan, of UpgradedPoints. And, as always, when booking through a travel agency, you won't earn any points or elite nights for your hotel stays.

The bottom line? If you plan to make the most of all the perks offered by Costco, it can definitely be a solid option for busy families who are seeking to save money.

"Just be sure to look at the included benefits carefully—and make sure that you will be able to use them," says Hassan.

4. You need to be a Costco member

Last, but not least, you will need a Costco membership in order to book any sort of travel through Costo. A basic membership is $60/year, while an executive membership is $120. Once you're a Costco member, however, you can use your membership to shop both in-store and online and even earn rewards points on booked travel if you get a Costco card too.

Can I Link Costco Tickets to the Disneyland App?

Yes, you can link your tickets to the official Disneyland App, though your tickets will be purchased through our affiliate Undercover Tourist rather than Costco. The app is designed to make your trip easier, as it contains almost everything you need to take advantage of all the park services including your tickets, dining, maps, entertainment times and, of course, access to  Disney Genie , Genie+ and Individual  Lightning Lane  Selections. So Does Costco Have Disneyland Tickets?

Having gone through all of the history and details of Disneyland tickets from Costco Wholesale the question remains: does Costco have Disneyland tickets?

The answer is no. They do not sell individual theme park tickets for Disneyland or California Adventure Park. As of 2024 the only way to get them is Costco is to include them in a travel package which we explain in more detail below.

Where to Find Disneyland Tickets From Costco

Should they be offered again, if you’re going to visit your local warehouse and purchase Disneyland discount tickets, Costco theme park deals can usually be found by following these simple steps:

• Locate the nearest Costco warehouse. If you’re out of town, search for one on Google Maps or use Costco’s warehouse finder online.
• After arriving, look for the section of the store that carries beef jerky and popcorn. It is usually in this area that gift cards and theme park tickets are located. If you can’t find them, ask someone at guest services.
• Once you’ve located the stand, look for  Disneyland Resort tickets . If Costco carries them, they will have cardboard cutouts for each ticket you want to purchase. Grab as many as you need and head to the registers.
• At the registers, let the cashier know you want to buy Costco Disneyland Tickets. They will have someone go to the back to get your actual tickets.
• Once purchased, you can take your tickets and head straight to the parks. No box office exchange is required.

This means you’ll need to book your hotel stay with Costco Travel to get a deal on Disneyland tickets.

Costco ticket offers vary from time to time, but you’ll typically see a few recurring offers throughout the year.

The first is going to be a buy 2 days, get 1 free, or buy 2 days, get 2 free type of offer.

If you plan on visiting Disneyland for more than two days then you’ll likely find this offer a really great deal. Additional days at Disneyland can range anywhere from $50-$100, so you’ll be saving yourself a decent chunk of cash this way.

You also might find deals that include a food and beverage credit, meaning you’ll be given a voucher that’s valid at most Disney restaurants to pay for food. We’ve seen offers here stretch to as much as $500 of free food depending on what type of tickets you purchase.

You’ll seldom find offers on single-day tickets or tickets without a park hopper option.

If you’re planning a quick one-day trip to Disneyland then it might be worth considering a longer stay to take advantage of these offers. However, if you’re set on only spending a single day at Disneyland then you’ll want to look elsewhere for ticket deals.

Park hopper is almost always required with these ticket deals as well.

We’ve seen tickets without the park hopper option go on sale in the past at Costco, but most recently you’re going to need to be okay with purchasing the (more expensive) park hopper option to get any sort of deal.

Disneyland tickets from Costco are transferable!

If you purchase the tickets as a gift for someone else you can give them to someone as long as they are unused. 

Tickets must be used by the same person on every day they are valid for. This means the person who uses the ticket first is who the ticket belongs to and then becomes untransferable.

As long as the ticket remains unused it can be given to another person as a gift or if you need to buy the ticket on their behalf.

Costco Disneyland tickets cannot be resold though. 

Disneyland tickets are also non-refundable, except in very rare circumstances . Be sure you're heading to Disneyland sometime shortly if you plan to purchase tickets from Costco as it's likely you won't be able to get a refund if your plans change. 

Disneyland tickets from Costco are nearly always a great deal, but be sure you're not overspending just to qualify for a certain deal. 

Because most tickets from Costco are deals on multiple days at Disneyland, likely, you'll only get value from these tickets if you plan on staying between 3-4 days at Disneyland.

While sometimes there are offers on 1-2 day tickets, these offers are much more rare.

You should double-check how much money you're spending to get an extra day or two when you originally only planned to spend a single day to see if the offer is worth it. 

Costco usually has some of the best rates on the hotels they package with their tickets as well, but this is another thing you should double-check. There is a chance that Costco does not have the best rate, so you'll want to see if there is a better deal booking your hotel directly from the hotel operator. 

Overall, you're going to find Costco's Disneyland tickets to be a great deal as long as you aren't adding additional days or upgrades to your Disneyland visit that you didn't originally plan to spend money on!

Hello All! I am looking for advice on using Costco Travel for an upcoming Disney World trip. I am a complete novice with Costco Travel, so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated. Specifically, I am wondering if anyone knows when 2024 dates will be able to be booked? Also, what kind of experiences have you had using Costco Travel for a Disney World trip? Thank You!

Costco travel has the same pricing for Disney as every other travel agency , yet provides very basic service. I did not have good experience booking a cruise, and had to keep calling their call center for assistance. I much prefer personal service of a travel agency through Dreams Unlimited . I know I have a 1:1 agent that can learn about MY family and make suggestions/recommendations.

I have used Costco travel for many Disney cruises and have had zero issues. I have also used them for all inclusive Caribbean vacations. Zero issues. I don’t need someone to plan everything for me and hold my hand. I can do most everything myself. I am interested in the cash back Costco travel provides. It can be significant.

You're going to do most of the work on your own via Costco Travel, if you get a Costco gift card bonus, it's not so bad. If you want the ability to get help while traveling, especially if you're concerned about flight delays, use a regular travel agent .

If you forward your confirmation to them they'll track price drops and you can re-book or have the provider re-price. Check it out. I recently saved on a Honolulu hotel, originally booked at $735/night and adjusted to $525/night thanks to HotelSlash. Of course, as with anything, read all the fine print about cancellation policies.

My brother's family and his in-laws went on a Disney cruise purchased from Costco travel. Didn't hear of any issues. Think they received a Costco gift card.

I just returned from my WDW vacation booked through Costco. They only sell hotel and tickets together as a package. I found that they were cheaper than Disney at the time of booking if you included the tickets, even without the $250 per room discount that was being offered from Costco at the time. I paid $5013 for 5 nights, 2 rooms at Coronado Springs and had 5 day park hoppers for 5 people. Costco's initial deposit is higher than Disney's--I believe 1st payment was over 1K. I changed my package from 4 park days to 5 without any issue and it was very easy to ad the tickets to my Disney experience. I later added a rental car, then removed it because their website had a better deal, without a problem. This was the 2nd trip I've booked with them and would do it again. However, you need more than basic service you may want to consider someone else. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

I use Costco Travel all of the time when booking Disney Cruises or book the cruise and transfer to Costco. You get an 8% Costco gift card back once you have completed the cruise. We just did a7 night Med Cruise for 8 of us. Disney had a Special Offer which brought the price to around $12,000, Received Gift Cards for over $1,000 when we returned. Have never had an issue with Costco Travel.

• One of Costco's less-known perks is their in-house travel agency Costco Travel . 
• Members can get travel deals on rental cars, cruises, hotels, theme parks, and airfare.
• Here are 5 different ways you can take advantage of Costco travel deals on your next vacation.

Car rentals

Costco Travel offers members exclusive rates on car-rental brands including Alamo, Avis, Budget, and Enterprise. 

You can search by brand or find the best deal using the retailer's low price finder search tool, which allows you to narrow down search results by car type, number of passengers, and luggage amount. 

Costco's rental car program also features additional member perks like the ability to book an additional driver at select locations, "book now, pay at the counter" options, zero cancellation fees, and an annual 2% award for executive members. 

Costco members can choose from 11 cruise lines and 14 destinations when booking a cruise through Costco Travel. 

Kirkland Signature Cruises from Costco's private label are the best bang for your buck, according to the company's website, with featured deals ranging from a $459 eight-night Carnival cruise to the Bahamas to a $2,016 11-night Holland America Line cruise in Alaska. 

Members who book a cruise through Costco Travel can also receive a Digital Costco Shop Card or shipboard credit with every sailing, according to the company. 

Theme Parks and specialty experiences

Costco Travel offers special deals on theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Disneyland. 

The travel agency also features specialty experience packages, including African Safari tours, guided group family vacations with Adventures by Disney , and guided trips through Ireland and Scotland organized by local experts from Brendan Vacations . 

Members can choose from four hotel brands when booking their stay through Costco Travel, according to the website: IHG Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, and Swissôtel Hotels and Resorts. 

If you change your mind, there are no change or cancellation fees for hotel rooms booked online through Costco Travel — unless you are within the hotel's penalty period. Plus, you can still receive World of Hyatt loyalty points for room-only bookings. 

While you can't book flights individually through Costco Travel, you can bundle airfare with your hotel stay and/or rental car booking. 

Airfare from most major US cities can be purchased as an add-on with nearly all Costco vacations, the company says. However, the offering does not include all carriers.

What to Know Before Booking 2023 Disney World Vacations

Walt Disney World 2023 vacation packages, resort reservations, and tickets are now on sale! Many fans begin booking and planning next year’s vacations with this release, so we’re bringing you everything that you need to know before getting started. ( Updated June 8, 2022 .)

This covers a multitude of topics, including when to visit to avoid crowds, saving the most money, new attractions, if or when the Disney Dining Plan will return, and more. We’re running through the key info that could influence your plans and Walt Disney World 2023 travel dates, with recommendations and reminders about past precedent that’s consistent from year to year.

In other cases, what’s addressed here is unique to 2023 at Walt Disney World. There are also plenty of unknowns, including some things we are still hoping will be back later this year, but that might not…and also might not return at the beginning of next year, or at all!

Let’s start with the basic information: bookings are now available for theme park tickets, resort hotel stays, and 2023 Walt Disney World vacation packages for arrivals dates starting January 1, 2023.

Reservations can be made for arrival dates up to 499 days in the future on a rolling basis. This means that you can only reserve through October 21, 2023 as of June 8, but tomorrow that’ll move forward to October 22 and so forth. November 2023 will be bookable by later this month, and all of December 2023 will be available by late July 2022.

With that out of the way, let’s turn to relevant considerations when choosing your 2023 Walt Disney World travel dates…

When to Visit

The World’s Most Magical Celebration 50th anniversary event is now being celebrated at all four Walt Disney World theme parks throughout the rest of this year and into early 2023. As always, special events are subject to extension “by popular guest demand,” but for now, the 50th Anniversary is scheduled to end around April 1, 2023.

As much as we hate to say this, we see no reason for rushing to visit prior to the end of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Despite the significance of the milestone, the actual celebration has been incredibly underwhelming–unless you love merchandise and statues of characters. Everything substantive that was added “for” the celebration will stick around throughout 2023 and beyond. For the most part, the 50th is just marketing–and pretty lame marketing, at that.

When determining when to visit, seasonal events cannot be overlooked–unlike the 50th, those actually do have some substance to them. You can see everything that happens throughout the year in our Calendar of Seasonal Events at Walt Disney World . While that’s the calendar for this year, the same festivities occur year in and out on approximately the same time frames.

Here, we’ll cut to the chase: Christmas is our favorite time of year at Walt Disney World. If you’re thinking of a Walt DIsney World vacation in the second half of the year, make it during the holiday season. Sticking with the back half of 2023, the other big seasonal event is Halloween. That’s mostly celebrated in Magic Kingdom and will run from mid-August 2023 through October 31. While there isn’t much in the other parks for spook season, another staple of fall is Epcot’s annual culinary event, which will likely run from mid-July through mid-November. Read our Guide to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival to learn more about that culinary celebration.

We love Halloween and that’s what makes August and September the second-best time of the year at Walt Disney World for us. Although it’s a favorite among many fans, Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival has almost nothing to do with it for us–we prefer every single other Epcot event over Food & Wine.

Instead, we’d consider the biggest selling point for those two months to be crowd levels. Once school goes back into session, attendance drops at Walt Disney World. Unlike other times that have seen fluctuating attendance (e.g. January and February), this early fall slowdown is consistent year in and year out.

To that point, you might be tempted to choose your dates based on our Walt Disney World Crowd Calendars if wait times and congestion are your biggest concerns. Honestly,  don’t bother. 

While we put a lot of work into our crowd avoidance resources, it’s currently impossible to predict with any degree of credibility how good or bad specific dates will be in 2023 at Walt Disney World. There are simply too many variables (e.g. park reservations, pent-up demand, looming recession, etc.) to make those even remotely accurate. No one who doesn’t have a crystal ball in their possession is going to be able to offer reliable 2023 Walt Disney World crowd predictions at this point.

About the only thing we are comfortable saying is that mid-August through late September 2023 will be the best time of the year to visit from a crowd perspective. That is, unless things take a crazy turn and the “abolish schools” movement gains significant momentum. Sadly, I don’t think the Rugrats have that kind of political clout.

With that said, we do have a more holistic resource that should prove more useful until 2023 draws nearer: our Best & Worst Months to Do Walt Disney World . That ranks every month of the year, and recommends a few specific weeks to visit that we think are the very best weeks of the year at WDW. Those aren’t precise predictions, but rather, good rules of thumb.

Cheapest Times & Price Increases

This is often the second question readers ask, right after inquiries about crowds. Many people don’t realize it, but prices vary significantly based upon when you’re visiting. Here are the Cheapest Times to Go to Walt Disney World .

That’s an incredibly insightful post that’s well worth reading, but if you opt to skip it, a couple of things worth keeping in mind are that off-season is cheaper, and that the biggest price increases usually happen early in the year. This year, food and ticket prices increased in February. While some years have two increases (with the second usually occurring in October), that would still make January 2023 the cheapest month to visit, all else being equal.

With that said, some of the same variables come into play with pricing as do with crowds–specifically, the possibility of pent-up demand fizzling out and the economy entering a recession or some form of slowdown. Although prices have climbed steadily (and sometimes sharply) over the last several years, there’s nothing to say that can’t go in the other direction.

As longtime visitors to Walt Disney World, we’ve seen exactly that scenario play out in the past. The Great Recession was the last big example of this, but there have been minor blips here and there since (most recently as people postponed trips in the lead-up to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening).

Still, we wouldn’t recommend waiting around for a downturn and the perfect deal to come along. If recent precedent is any indication, you’re more prone to grow old waiting for that to happen. Just like with Wall Street, you can’t time the (WDW) market.

On-Site Perks

Let’s start with the ones that are probably lost forever. There is absolutely no reason to believe Disney’s Magical Express will return in 2023…or ever. Never say never , though. Enough of an economic downturn or Universal siphoning off attendance could change the equation. Just not by 2023–and probably not by 2024, either.

Second, free FastPass+ is not coming back. Again, never say never …but if you think Walt Disney World is going to give up the revenue stream of Genie+ and Lightning Lanes without its hand being forced, you’re truly living in Fantasyland. What you can expect is incremental improvements to the Genie+ service to address the currently abysmal guest satisfaction scores and the usability of the system. Those should all come well before 2023, though.

On a more positive note, Walt Disney World has confirmed that Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours will stick around through 2023. It’s our expectation that these are offerings are permanent, with no end dates in 2024 or beyond, either.

Similarly, the MagicBand Upgrade Program is almost certainly sticking around for 2023 and beyond. Although this has been plagued by inventory shortages due to supply chain disruptions, those are starting to improve. Expect this program to soon be expanded to include the MagicBand+ when that launches. Again, that’s not a 2023 thing…more like late June 2022.

Then there’s the Disney Dining Plan, which would fall into “reply hazy, ask again later” territory if this were a Magic 8 Ball. The Disney Dining Plan wasn’t mentioned in the announcement about 2023 Walt Disney World vacation package bookings, which does not bode well.

Our expectation is that the Disney Dining Plan will NOT be available for booking when the packages are released, but it’s possible that Walt Disney World could catch us by surprise and it’ll be an option for next year’s reservations starting as soon as they’re released. It’s also possible that won’t be the case, but the option will appear for modifications or new bookings in the months to come.

With that said, there are also no guarantees that the Disney Dining Plan will return by January 2023…or any time next year… or ever again!  We think it’ll be back before 2023, as covered in  When Will the Disney Dining Plan Return? (but we’ve been wrong on that topic more than once before.)

What’s New & Next

While we mentioned above that Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary has been underwhelming as a celebration, some of the recent additions that have coincided with it have been good. Big draws include Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Harmonious, and Space 220 Restaurant.

However, the one major addition that overshadows the rest is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. I t is awesome . This Marvel roller coaster is incredibly popular and will be for years. The good news is that by January 2023, it will likely have a standby line, too! Everything you need to know is covered in our Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind FAQ & Ride Guide .

Other attractions planned for the start of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration have been delayed until this year or 2023. The only other BIG new ride on the horizon is TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom , which will hopefully open in late 2022.

If TRON Lightcycle Run does not open by early December 2022, the roller coaster probably won’t open until March 2023 at the earliest. It might not even open until Memorial Day 2023. In other words, it’ll either open as a draw for this year’s peak holiday season dates, or for next spring break or summer travel seasons.

Typically, Walt Disney World does not open attractions in the off-season, so it’s highly unlikely  that TRON Lightcycle Run will open in January or February of next year. (For those still looking at this year, there’s no way it debuts before October 1, and even that month through mid-November is a long shot.)

After that, the EPCOT overhaul will wrap up in late 2023, supposedly. Moana’s Journey of Water being the only noteworthy thing still left to open as part of that, and it’ll likely open at some point next year–likely in Summer 2023.

Refurbishments

Temporary attraction closures and refurbishments are par for the course at Walt Disney World. Before solidifying your travel dates, you’ll also want to check out the Walt Disney World Refurbishment Calendar to make sure any must-do attractions won’t be closed for renovations during your visit. However, it’s way too early to rely on that when planning for 2023–usually attractions are added 2-3 months before they go down.

With that said, we do know some hotel closures that are on the horizon–namely, pool refurbishments and construction projects. See our  2022-2023 Walt Disney World Hotel Construction & Refurbishments .

When to Book

We started this with “When to Visit,” so let’s bring it full circle…back to the beginning…with when to book your 2023 Walt Disney World vacation. This is really only relevant if you’re reading this on June 8, right as packages and resort reservations go live.

As with most Walt Disney World “drop days,” the phone lines will be jammed and the online system will likely slow to a crawl at peak times, with Stitch eating the occasional page here and there.

If you’re just looking to book a standard room at Pop Century, there’s no real reason to rush into a reservation. There’s enough supply for those rooms that–even with a ton of demand–literally zero 2023 dates will sell out during the entire month of June 2022. When one person books a standard room at Pop Century, there are still (literally) over 2,000 more.

If you’re trying to book a rare room or some special suite that is one-of-a-kind, it’s a totally different story. When one person books that for specific dates, it’s gone. So, if you have great taste and thus want to treat yo self with a stay in the Yosemite Suite at Wilderness Lodge , then you should probably endure those long hold times on the phone.

However, that’s not going to be relevant to 99%+ of people reading this. (Not that you don’t have great taste–you definitely do if you’re booking any room at Wilderness Lodge, and might if you’re booking anywhere else.)

If you’re at all flexible about your resort choice or room preferences, consider waiting until later in the evening (or even June 9-10) when things calm down a bit. You might save yourself some headache and frustration. Alternatively, it’s always a good idea to use a travel agent. We recommend requesting a quote from Be Our Guest Vacations ,  a no-fee Authorized  Disney Vacation Planner, so they can do the work for you. The agents there will book your vacation and help take the stress out of planning.

Ultimately, that should cover everything you need to know about booking 2023 Walt Disney World vacation packages… for now . Obviously, with next year still over 6 months away, there are still many unknowns. Hopefully, we’ll have clarity on most of these in the months to come, but if the last two years are any indications, plenty of question marks will persist even as the new year begins.

Even with all of the above said, our advice is to book Walt Disney World vacation packages within a few weeks of when they go on sale to lock-in ticket and component pricing as a safeguard against the inevitable price increases. There’s really no downside to that approach, as discounts (also an inevitability) can be applied retroactively. So if you’re already certain that you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World in 2023, booking now is a good hedge.

If you’re not certain, and are waiting to see if Walt Disney World gets its act together in any number of ways, improves the guest experience/satisfaction, brings ____ back, or stops/slows down the nickel & diming, you should probably wait. While we’re hopeful that the worst is behind us in that regard, you couldn’t be faulted for having skepticism of our optimism. 😉

I would not be surprised if bouncebacks never return in their prior form–targeted email offers to past guests are probably more likely. Sorta like a blend between PIN codes and bouncebacks.

Hi Tom, We are travelling from Scotland and have just booked for June 2023. We have taken your advice over many blogs and booked a split stay (5 nights POR and 2 nights Contemporary to access the evening hours – hopefully they don’t switch evenings as planning for Magic Kingdom !!). We booked as soon as the deals for the UK market dropped and the incentives were incredible ! I had been tracking prices for many months so ready to go when the deals appeared. Clearly Disney are reaching out to the UK / Europe market for next year, particularly as travel has been curtailed for us over the past 2 years due to Covid. My family have been visiting Disney since my first visit in 1978 and were there just after the opening of Epcot ! Have enjoyed many trips but due to distance and costs, we only manage once every 3/4 years …. mega excited for this trip, now with 2 grown up sons !! We just worked with our favorite travel agent at Small World Vacations to book a trip in January, but my son and I are both teachers so we are kind of “stuck” around the semester schedule the same way parents are. We booked getting to and from the airport with Mears. Fingers crossed.
