How to Order a Disney Cruise Line Room Decor Package

If you want to add a little extra pixie dust to your Disney Cruise Line room, you can order a Disney Cruise Line room decor package through Onboard Gifts .

And it’s not only room decor! You can order Birthday Cakes, jewelry, sweets and snacks, alcohol, Star Wars and Marvel themed gifts and more. if you’re not the one sailing, you can also surprise a friend or family member with any of these options!

All packages and gifts must be ordered at least 3 days in advance of sail date. You can browse gift and room decor options with a reservation number or by port as some options may be different.

Personally I’d rather spend my money on a room decor package to take home some souvenirs, because there is so much food and desserts on board the ships! Or I’d splurge on Palo Brunch as it’s my favorite meal.

Birthday Celebrations on Disney Cruise Line

There is also a birthday room package for Disney Cruise Line to help celebrate a birthday. Or again, you can also bring some of your own room decorations from home.

Birthday Room Decor Package Disney Cruise Line

We did order my daughter a birthday cake in January of 2022 while we were onboard, and it was a fun surprise for her! We had to order at least 24 hours in advance at Guest Relations and they delivered it to her during our main dining room time. We were so full and had so much cake leftover!

Disney Merrytime Cruise Room Decor Packages

How cute is this Merrytime Cruise Christmas Decor package? For some reason it’s not showing up online through Onboard Gifts, but many guests have said you can order it by calling Disney Cruise Line directly.

You’ll receive the room banners, blanket, pillow, and Goofy scarf all for around $100.

There are so many magical ways to surprise and delight guests on Disney Cruise Line. You could also make a reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or buy your teens Disney Cruise Line wifi 😉  Or how about running the Castaway Cay 5k together?

No matter what your family’s love language is, you’re sure to have a great time on board. Bon voyage!

These are not on the website yet. Not under RSP or buy it now.

' src=

They were on there earlier. I looked a few hours ago

' src=

Cathy, These items are available from DCL’s general Gift and Amenities store , not the maiden voyage pre-sale site.

' src=

The items are unavailable on the DCL website. Will there be another opportunity to purchase any of the embarkment sets? If so, when? Is there another way to purchase the items?

Great question. I would keep checking back to see availability returns.

' src=

‘Set a course for adventure ‘? Sounds like copyright infringement. Direct quote from the Love Boat theme which belongs to Princess cruises. Surprising since Disney is so protective of their brand.Just reinforces my feelings that imagination is dead.

' src=

I see them. Are you in a Wish sailing? If so, click on your reservation and you can see the items under the gifts section.

' src=

I’m guessing they are sold out now bc I don’t see them anymore.

Possible pulled due to the number of guests having issues ordering the items.

' src=

I’m unable to find anything for Wish on website

' src=

Maybe sold out. I was able to purchase an item yesterday, but the Wish items are no longer showing on the site.

I’m furious that everything sold out in a matter of hours. Disappointed in Disney!!! Please offer the pre voyage items again!!

Good News!! They aren’t out of anything!!! I just called DCL earlier and selected the option of website trouble. Only had to wait 4 minutes, the sweet girl that helped me took my order for both my July MV cruise and my October cruise. So they are not out of any of the new packages–they are just continuing to have “computer glitches”!! So either try the website trouble option or here is another phone number that was on my amenity email. 1-800-601-8455. Happy ordering!!

Thank you so much for this! I have been stalking the website to no avail, but I called today and got it ordered. 🙂

' src=

kkDid you get Scotts prices or DCL prices that were more?

There is false information on this sight as the cruise line prices are different. the set sail package is 85.00 plus tax making it 90.95. scott shows only 70.00 You can order by phone with long hold wait.

I would not call the information false, I’d say it is out of date if indeed the prices are now different. The prices listed are the price that were listed the day these were online back in mid-May.

Thank you my error

' src=

Can we still call and place an order? Wondering why it isn’t back on the site yet

' src=

I just called the number suggested above (1-800-601-8455, press option 1 for website help)) and was able purchase the comfort set on the phone. The agent had to hunt a little to find the merchandise number but was able to locate it. The prices have gone up since they were initially announced (now $89 vs $74). Good luck!

' src=

I can’t even get into the onboard gifts site to order or see anything. But called and got the set sail decor.

Just remember that the prices have changed. The lower the stock, the higher the price.

' src=

The prices have definitely changed. I just ordered the celebration room decorations package and it’s now just over $101 with tax

' src=

I was able to order the “set sail” package today by calling. The castmember had to search for it. The price today was $90.95.

' src=

Can someone show me what the Holiday Wish Decor Package looks like?

' src=

Do you know what the Set Course for Adventure room decor (1259) looks like?

Has anyone ordered the Christmas decorations from DCL? The pictures aren't very good on the order from - wondering if the trees they deliver are lighted, and also what the opinions are of the room decorations set (Mickey Christmas garland, etc.) Thx!

Does anyone decorate the cabin on their own? I used to bring a small lighted tree but I am flying this time so I don't think that's an option

I haven't purchased the in-room gifts option, but I can chime in with - yes, people do bring their own decorations. If it's feasible to do so. One thing, you can't have plug in lights for decorating the room. Battery powered is fine.

Thanks. Darn though. I always brought a tree with plug in lights on the QM2 & a bath and body works tree scented plug in "scentportable"...No one ever said anything, and I always gave it to a crew member when we were done. Guess I will be searching for battery lights...

Target sells really tiny battery/usb powered trees and stuff. They're pretty small though. A few inches tall. They double as nightlights (although that's not their intended use). We travel on Christmas a lot it seems, so this works well for us so the kids still have a tree wherever we are.

I was thinking of that. Will hit target for the tree, but I'm still thinking of ordering the Mickey room set up. If I do, I'll post pix because the picture on line aren't very good. Got to have a festive room!

Please do! This is the first I've heard of ordering room decorations.

While you have been successful using a plug in air freshener in the past, I would ask you not to do so in the future. These have a heating element, and the problem comes when the fragrance has all evaporated, if the high temperature switch inside fails, the heater will continue to heat the plastic housing, which can melt and cause a fire. These are a danger even in the home, and should be checked regularly to ensure there is always liquid fragrance there. As something with a heating element, they are generally not allowed. Battery powered ones, due to the low current involved, are safe to use.

As a note regarding Christmas decorations, all of the live trees and evergreen boughs brought onboard by the line have been sprayed with fire retardant, so bringing any real greenery onboard yourself would not be allowed.

As always, a considered reply with proper reasoning Chief.

On the DIS, someones fan was confiscated, and a poster has chimed in that their electrical engineer husband has scoffed at the idea of a fan being a high risk item for an electrical fire, whilst curling irons are allowed and how much heat and power they consume.

Yet they didn't consider the auto shut off with the hair straighteners/curlers, and how you could easily walk out of your Stateroom and leave a fan running.

A little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing, when you do not consider ALL of the aspects. And thanks for your insight!

Actually I just used the wrong phraseology with "plug in" and should have stated "hang up" or "clip on" rather than plug in, though they make dozens of plug in flavors. Bath & Body Works travel Scentportables are not really plug in, they are a small scented capsule which you break and slip into the holder, which can then be placed on a car visor, or other similar spot via a clip-on mechanism. They are designed for when you can't use a plug. These are for travel and have no electricity - battery or otherwise - and are just tossed out when you are finished.

As for live greenery - the trees I bring on board are fake. And silver.

Just make sure any fake tree you bring aboard a ship is adequately fire retardant.

Nobody needs additional risk added to their vacation!

In one week, at the "scent" won't evaporate....

No it won't run dry in a week smartass.

BUT it was a recommendation from someone that has to deal with incidents at sea, and if it is not a new scent, it could run dry.

How can you not see that as a safety warning?

Season’s Greetings! Room Decor Package on a Very Merrytime Cruise is a Festive Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gift

Hi everyone!

We sailed on the Disney Dream last week for a Very Merrytime Cruise. The Disney Cruise Line hosted us for this cruise, and they also surprised us with a Season’s Greetings! Room Decor package . This is one of many Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gifts that can be ordered (other items include cupcakes, wine and flowers). The Season’s Greetings! Room Decor package is a festive addition to a stateroom!

First, here is our stateroom video, #10046 with the decor. And then photos are below with the article.

Last year, I was surprised with a “Celebration at Sea” In-Room Package on the Disney Wish from our partner travel agency Mouse Fan Travel , and this was just as fun to find in the room. The cost of the Season’s Greetings! Room Decor package is $118.00.

Here is a look at the Seasons Greetings! Room Decor package!

disney cruise christmas room decor

The Seasons Greetings! Room Decor package includes a festive throw with this year’s artwork of Disney characters and icons. The nicest aspect about the package is you can enjoy it at home after the cruise is over.

disney cruise christmas room decor

Here is a closer look at the artwork, which includes a Disney Cruise Line ship and Captains Mickey and Minnie.

disney cruise christmas room decor

There is a thin pillow that is like an advent calendar. Included is a rubber Mickey head on what looks like a rubber peppermint stick that can be put in any pocket (it is on a string). You could even put very miniature gifts or notes in the pockets.

disney cruise christmas room decor

A Goofy plush is part of the package as well!

Here is a closer look at Goofy. He wears a Disney Cruise Line Santa hat.

There are two. banners with various characters on them.

This basket was flat when we arrived, and it pops up.

You can see the basket flat in the photo under Goofy.

Jeff and I both said that we’d purchase the Season’s Greetings! Room Decor package if we were sailing on our own. I really love the “Celebration at Sea” In-Room Package on the Disney Wish that we were gifted last year and now we’ll be using this fun decor for our home as well. I recommend checking out the Disney Cruise Line Onboard Gifts page before traveling on the Disney Cruise Line (or if you know someone cruising and you want to surprise them).

While we were hosted on the Disney Dream for this cruise, all views are ours. Jeff and I have both been sailing on the Disney Cruise Line since 1998. We recommend our sponsor  MEI’s Mouse Fan Travel  for booking a Disney Cruise.

How to Pack for a Very Merrytime Disney Cruise

by Jenn Marrazzo | Nov 29, 2021 | Disney Cruise Line

Wondering what to pack for your Disney Christmas cruise? We have six essentials to add to your Disney Very Merrytime Cruise packing list that you won’t want to leave behind for this special sailing.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, time for a Very Merrytime Cruise onboard Disney Cruise Line . Can you picture it? The smell of gingerbread cookies filling the air, Christmas trees and lights welcoming you in, and Santa Claus giving you a great big ho-ho-hello?

Disney Cruise Line’s Very Merrytime Cruise is perfect for Christmas fans thanks to a number of festive activities that will get you into the holiday spirit.

But what do you need to pack for your Very Merrytime Disney Cruise? We’ve put together a list of must-pack items for a Very Merrytime Cruise with Disney.

[metaslider id=”50088″]

1. Christmas Ears/Hats

Don’t forget your ears for meeting Santa! Photo courtesy of Disney Parks Blog

What’s a Christmas cruise without a pair of magical Christmas ears? With all of the exciting activities happening around the ship like a tree lighting and character interactions , you’ll definitely want to be showing off your favorite pair of ears .

But there’s no need to be limited to just ears . Bring your Santa hats along too! All festive accessories are welcome to show off during your cruise!

During a recent trip to WDW, I picked up these new Spirit Jersey ears that would be the perfect accessory on any Merrytime Cruise.

Christmas ears are your best bet. Photo courtesy of Jenn Marrazzo

Mickey and friends will be in the holiday spirit, but you can spread that good cheer to your own stateroom with some decorations. Photo courtesy of Disney Parks Blog

While Disney will go all out to decorate for the Very Merrytime Cruise, your room won’t have that magical holiday touch . But you don’t have to leave it that way!

By bringing a stocking or a miniature Christmas tree , you can bring the holiday celebration to your stateroom.

This miniature Christmas tree available at Walmart is super easy to pack in your suitcase and will give your room that extra holiday touch it’s been missing.

[metaslider id=”40370″]

3. Apparel/Matching PJs

Matching PJs are a great thing to pack for your Very Merrytime Disney Cruise. Photo courtesy of Disney Parks Blog

If you’ve ever visited Walt Disney World for Christmas , you know guests love to wear matching holiday shirts or even pajamas to holiday events . That’s also the case on a Very Merrytime Cruise.

From the tree lighting to the Christmas Ball thrown onboard, being in the holiday spirit is essential (and let’s face it—wearing matching PJs is just fun).

4. Door Magnets/Door Décor

If you read our blog detailing what to pack on a Halloween cruise with Disney Cruise Line , you’ll be entirely familiar with the idea of bringing festive door magnets and door decor. This practice is just as popular aboard a Merrytime Cruise.

Your metal door is a great way to show off your holiday spirit . Whether you decide to bring just magnets or maybe even a wreath, let your imagination run free and have fun !.

5. Camera (or Phone)

The gingerbread house is always a great photo op. Photo courtesy of Disney Parks Blog

You’re probably scratching your head on this one. Really, they are recommending a camera?

One item that is always a must-have for me is a camera. While any trip warrants a camera to capture those magical memories, holiday cruises are even more important to bring a camera .

And I remind you because, with no cell service and paid Wi-Fi only, you might be more likely to leave your phone back in your room. Don’t forget to bring your phone with you!

From the large gingerbread house to photo ops with your favorite characters in their Christmas costumes to the holiday fun on Castaway Cay , you won’t want to miss all of the chances to remember a magical holiday season at sea.

View this post on Instagram   A post shared by Rozee (@righthandmouse)

6. Holiday Cards

Give the gift of Disney to Cast Members onboard the ship.

Holiday Cards can be great to offer magical moments to Cast Members onboard. Whether you want to say thank you for something they did that was extra special or just wish different Cast Members a happy holiday, this will definitely make the day of the people who make your cruise so special .

For extra magic, make them  Disney Christmas cards !

Have you ever sailed on a Christmas cruise with Disney? If so, let us know what was on your Disney Very Merrytime Cruise packing list. Share with us on our DCL Magazine Facebook page !

I have a cruise in those dates but can’t see any holiday decor in the gifts options… do I have to call? Thanks

earfulofmagic said: As a heads up, though I think this may be implied in previous posts -- from the person I spoke to it sounds like they do not plan to put these on the website for online ordering at all, so best to call rather than wait and see. Total with tax was $99.51 Click to expand...

Disney Cruise Decorations

Planning a magical Disney Cruise and want to make your stateroom door stand out, or celebrate a special occasion? You're in the right place!

Disney Cruise Door Decorations

Do people decorate on Disney cruises?

YES! Disney cruisers practically invented door decorations. Walking down the stateroom hallways you'll likely see more doors with decorations than without - and you don't want to miss out!

Disney guests love to decorate their doors for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, and to show off their favorite fandoms. Disney cruisers have also created other fun activities like Fish Extender exchanges and Pixie Dusting.

Cruise door magnets are the ideal option for Disney cruise decorations as they're effortlessly packable, and go up in seconds on metallic surfaces. NOTE: Concierge level rooms on the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream are wooden.

Disney is the family-friendly cruise line. Cruise door decorations must not include language or imagery that may be considered vulgar or offensive.

Safety First

For safety reasons, almost all cruise lines require door decorations to be made out of flame retardant materials. Stateroom Statements cruise door magnets use an approved vinyl material.

Cruise Decorations should only be on your door or inside your room. They should not interfere with clear access to your room or the hallway for crew and fellow guests.

  • Beer, wine and champagne packages
  • Flower arrangements

Bon Voyage Nautical Decor from Disney Cruise Line

Before you set sail, simply log on to the site with your reservation number to browse the gift offerings and place an online order. Family and friends who would like to surprise someone going on a Disney cruise may also place an order by visiting the site and entering the guest’s reservation number and last name. Just make sure you place cake orders no later than seven days prior to sail date and all other orders no later than three days prior to sail date.

Disney Cruise Line onboard gifts are the perfect way to make your voyage more memorable or bid loved ones a “bon voyage!”

Destinations: Disney Cruise Line

Topics: Merchandise

For the Christmas Holiday one, I was told by DCL staff that is was going to be available the end of August. I am also hearing the first week of September.

When will this be available to those who’ve booked in the uk?

When will Halloween room packages be available?

Can you tell us when the holiday options will be available for the Halloween and Christmas sailings? Would love to order but they aren’t showing up.

We absolutely love Disney floral and gifts! The make beautiful memories come true!!

Halloween and Christmas on Disney Cruise Line: Here’s What You Need to Know

Disney Cruise Line offers a number of special sailings, with enhancements above and beyond the normal cruise experience. Two of the most popular special sailings are Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime.

Halloween on the High Seas Cruises

Halloween on the High Seas sailings take place on every Disney Cruise Line ship. Halloween-themed cruise typically take place from mid-September until the ship’s sailing that includes October 31. You can search for Halloween sailings by visiting the “Our Ships” tab on the Disney Cruise Line website and scroll down to the “Themed and Holiday Cruises” section.

disney cruise christmas room decor

You can verify that a cruise will be Halloween-themed by looking for the Halloween banners on the sailing listing.

disney cruise christmas room decor

Components of Halloween Cruises include:

  • Changes to ship decor. Each ship has version of a “pumpkin tree” that fills much of the lobby atrium. There will often be one night with a ceremony that brings the tree to “life.” Often ship portholes are filled with Jack-O-Lantern faces and the atrium railings are festooned with orange and black bunting.
  • Changes to ship music. Instead of standard Disney tunes, you’re likely to hear songs like “Monster Mash” piped into the ship’s public areas.
  • Characters. Many of the Disney characters on the ship will appear in costume. (I’m going to pretend you didn’t just think to yourself, “Aren’t they always in costume?”) Some variations occur from year to year, but often Mickey and Minnie are dressed as a wizard and witch, Goofy is often King Tut, Chip & Dale are often comical thieves.
  • Onboard activities. Some of the normal onboard craft sessions will have a Halloween twist. For example, a character drawing class will have the character in a Halloween setting. Trivia sessions might include a Halloween trivia game. There might be face painting or temporary tattoos available.
  • Guest costumes. Typically one day of the cruise will have a costume party or parade called something like a “Mouse-querade party.” Kids and adults are welcome to dress up, but there are a bunch of rules about acceptable costuming. For example, you’re not allowed to carry anything that looks like a weapon, you can’t dress exactly like a regular character (no Cinderella replicas, for example), and you can’t wear non-medical masks when you’re walking around. Be sure to check the DCL website for specifics. Costumes are absolutely NOT required. If dressing up is not your thing, you don’t have to participate in dress-up activities.
  • Trick or Treating. Kids will be invited to visit trick-or-treat stations during one day of the sailing.
  • Food and drink. The drink-of-the-day will likely have spooky name and a few of the offerings in Cabanas (or Marceline Market on the Wish) might include pumpkin.
  • Movies. The selection of films shown on the Funnelvision screens or in the onboard theaters typically includes Halloween-themed Disney films such as The Nightmare Before Christmas , Halloweentown , or Hocus Pocus .
  • Merchandise. There will be some Halloween-themed merchandise for sale in the onboard shops.
  • Photo backgrounds. Some of the onboard photo backgrounds will have Halloween themeing.

Very Merrytime Cruises

Fun fact: the word “merrytime” in the Very Merrytime name for DCL’s holiday cruises is a play on the word “Maritime” meaning “connected to the sea.”

Merrytime cruises typically start in mid-November and end with the last sailing of each ship that includes December 25. If you’re on a New Year’s Eve cruise, the Christmas decor will still be up, but it won’t have the Merrytime designation. You can verify that you’re booking a Merrytime cruise by looking for the ornament and light illustrated banner on the listing for your sailing.

disney cruise christmas room decor

Components of Merrytime Cruises include:

  • Changes to ship decor. Each ship will have a giant Christmas tree that fills much of the lobby atrium, which will also feature a life-sized gingerbread house. The atrium railings are festooned with faux pine boughs and holiday ornaments. Additional trees will appear in nearly every public corner of the ship – and even on Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
  • Changes to ship music. Instead of standard Disney tunes, you’re likely to hear songs like “Jingle Bells” piped into the ship’s public areas.
  • Characters. Many of the Disney characters on the ship will appear in wintery variations of their usual clothes – think cozy scarves and hats. On some sailings, you may have the opportunity to meet Santa.
  • Onboard activities. Some of the normal onboard craft sessions will have a Christmas twist. For example, a character drawing class will have the character in a Christmas setting. Trivia sessions might include a Christmas trivia game. There will often be one night with holiday storytelling.
  • Stateroom gifts. For sailings that actually include Christmas day, guests will likely receive a small gift in their stateroom such as candy or a print of the ship.
  • Food and drink. The drink-of-the-day will likely have festive name and a few of the offerings in Cabanas (or Marceline Market on the Wish) might include red and green embellishments.
  • Movies. The selection of films shown on the Funnelvision screens or in the onboard theaters typically includes Christmas-themed Disney films such as Mickey’s Christmas Carol .
  • Merchandise. There will be some holiday-themed merchandise for sale in the onboard shops.
  • Photo backgrounds. Some of the onboard photo backgrounds will have Christmas themeing.
  • Religious observances. The ship will typically hold a midnight mass on Christmas Eve as well as Catholic and non-denominational services on Christmas morning, all in the Walt Disney theater, check your Navigator app for exact times. The ship lobby will have a Jewish menorah and a Kwanzaa Kinara placed somehere and there will be brief lighting events during sailings that include these holidays, but expect that these celebrations will be dwarfed by all things Christmas. If you don’t celebrate Christmas, you’ll have to consider how you’ll feel about the pervasive merriment.

disney cruise christmas room decor

What is the Pricing Like?

There is no specific upcharge for the enhancements on these cruises. With a tiny handful of exceptions, all the holiday perks are included with the price of your cruise. Prices related more to the date of the sailings rather than the holiday overlay. For example, sailings during the first two weeks of December include all the Christmas decor, music, food, and more, but the prices are very reasonable. Rates go up as more children have their holiday school vacations and the cruises that actually include Christmas can be quite pricey.
