Airolo - 3 and 4 August 2024

On August 3 and 4 the first and only Ticinese stage of the Swiss Enduro Series, the professional MTB enduro series in Switzerland, will take place in Airolo!

After the 2022 and 2023 editions, the Swiss Enduro Series will return to Airolo on 3 and 4 August 2024!

In the wake of the efforts made over the last few years to improve the MTB offer, we are now happy to be able to re-propose an event of great importance such as the fourth stage of the SES enduro circuit on the trails of the Airolo Bike Park!

For us, it is a great achievement to be included in this calendar but it is certainly also a fantastic opportunity for you to admire the enduro champions whizzing along the trails, to experience first-hand all the thrills of these days and, why not, try to steal the tricks of the trade!

Are you ready to experience the Ticino leg of the SES in Airolo with us?

What the race consists of:

• 4 stages, the route of which will be announced one week before the event
• The time of each participant is measured and added up
• The competitor with the fastest overall time wins
• Different categories: pro and amateur, different ages
• Each race lasts 2 days: 1 training day and 1 race day

Given the great commitment that the organisation of such an event requires, we are happy to be able to collaborate with the Velo Club Bellinzona in the organisation of the only Ticino stage of the SES circuit.

THE VILLAGE

At the start of the Airolo cableways we will set up the village of the event, for two days of entertainment, gastronomy, music and lots of fun!

Throughout the weekend,  RideAlps.ch  guides will be available to take you by e-Bike to some strategic points near the routes from the race, allowing you to admire the athletes' descents up close .

For the occasion, a pavilion equipped with a buvette, grill and other gastronomic offerings will be set up near the bar la Chièuna.

Dear Airolo friends, we need you!

In order to cope with the work required to host such an event, we will need several people to help us on the ground over the weekend. 

The great thing about being a volunteer in such an event is just to experience from the inside the organization of a big event...together we will make sure it is big for real!

For the eighth time already, MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM will take place from 5th to 7th September 2024. In the extremely popular FUN TEAMs category for 3 to 6 people, e-bikes will remain integrated in 2024. In addition, there are of course the classic teams of two.

The kids race, which celebrated its premiere in 2022, will take place already for the third time on Sunday, 8 September 2024.

The teams start and end every stage together. You are always riding with your buddy. The race is held in blind modus, the stages will be published only the evening before. With this format a good teamwork and tactics are almost more important as riding fast.

Apart from almost perfect trails our accommodation partners offer everything from camping to 4*hotel, the best deals for participants and spectators!

Get ready • 8th edition • davos klosters • endless trails, registration open from 22 december 2023, 2 pm.

MONDRAKER ENDURO TEAM in Davos is a mountain bike enduro race for teams. Several "stages" are to be completed daily. The measured stages are sections of a few minutes duration, which mainly lead downhill. The two to six members of a team always ride together, time runs from the moment the first biker crosses the starting line until the second crosses the finish line.

During the three race days 10 to 16 stages are covered. The transfers in between without time measurement are covered by bike, often supported by the great net ouf mountain railways of the region.

Save-the-Date: WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series in Saalfelden Leogang 2024 with UCI Downhill & Enduro World Cups

The WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series 2024 will return to Saalfelden Leogang in 2024. From 7 to 9 June, the UCI Enduro and Downhill World Cup will stop by the Epic Bikepark Leogang and Austria's largest bike-region Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. Of course, last year's champions – local heroes Vali Höll and Andi Kolb – will be there, determined to defend their respective wins.

As a teenager, I was already breaking my grandfather’s motorcycles riding in the woods and back in those days I couldn’t repair them and Grandpa never was happy!

Today I am an experienced aircraft engineer and lead the airworthiness department of an airline so there is a pretty good chance that I can repair my bikes if need be. I am a KTM devotee and you`ll find me mostly on a 1090 or 350.

For me, the best way to relax is on a motorcycle. Adventure-touring, enduro or a rally event`s all put a smile on my face.

One of my most beautiful trips was “Two Up”, with my girlfriend on the northern route through Mongolia. Such trips need a whole bunch of pre-planning, navigation skills, flexibility and much more.

If it’s not on a motorbike then it’s a backpack and any kind of transport available in the country where I travel…but, for sure, renting a bike or scooter always is the ideal. My favourite continent for backpacking is Asia and perhaps that’s the place where I’ll retire to.

I also plan tours and guide my friends and members of the Swiss KTM Adventure Club.

Since the very beginning of the TET, I’ve been on the tracks every year exploring the countries and people. I would be delighted to have any kind of help and support that you can offer to ensure that the Swiss TET gives the nicest views and get best experience of how the Swiss population lives.

Motorcycling carries risks. Adventure motorcycling adds to these: a. Mobile phone coverage may be patchy or non-existent so summoning help may be limited. If help is summoned it may struggle to reach you and you may incur high costs. Unpaved tracks vary from gravel to broken tar to sand to stone to boulder to grass. Each carries its own challenges of grip, stability and unpredictability all of which vary immensely with weather conditions which can change quickly especially in mountain areas. b. The physical demands of riding a motorcycle, laden or otherwise, off road are not to be underestimated. If you drop it, picking it up can be hard work and recovering it from a hillside, river or mud hole where it has slipped can be exhausting. Add into the mix the variable climate in Europe - subzero to high 30s and above - and heat, cold and dehydration can impair performance and make a dangerous cocktail when mixed with the complex task of off pavement riding. c. Navigation can be challenging, especially without practicing using GPS or maps on the move, on the “wrong" side of the road or with signposts in an unfamiliar script. d. Mechanical issues easily sorted out in one's own garage or home city can become much more of a challenge away from home in an area with poor infrastructure or dealer knowledge. e. Local adults and children (and animals!) may be unfamiliar with motorcycles or their capabilities and misjudge situations. Driving standards and discipline vary hugely and often the perception is “might is right” with scant regard being paid to the little guy on a motorbike. f. Local wildlife both domestic and wild can pose risks. Bears and wolves are present in some areas, snakes in others, wild roaming reindeer in the far north and cattle and dogs are all over. g. Laws and regulations are always changing across the continent, so a trail that contributors thought was legal, may not now be so. This may lead to conflict with the authorities, communities, landowners or other users - anything from a glance, a shout or a waved fist to arrest, prosecution, litigation, bike confiscation, fine or loss of licence or liberty. h. Concepts and practice of sanitation and hygiene vary immensely and medical facilities can be scarce, suboptimal or distant. i. The seedier side of humanity can also impact on you through theft, assault or fraud. j. Be aware that some areas of eastern Europe also have heightened awareness of mobile populations following the influx of refugees so you may come across desperately poor people or wary authorities. k. In Bosnia, Croatia and other locations the detritus of war still exists in the form of uncleared mine-fields. Snow, water and soil creep all shift these so that straying from established well used trails can be dangerous and, needless to say, stupid. 18. All trails and roads require you and your motorcycle to be fully insured, licensed and road- worthy 19. You should ensure that your paperwork is in order whether it be bike, breakdown or medical/repatriation insurance, licences or passports 20. You should get some practice in to build confidence and competence (and respect for your own limits and those of your bike) 21. You should ensure you are properly equipped with the right tyres, spares, protection, first aid kit, communications devices (and batteries!), luggage and camping gear 22. Ride with an awareness of the terrain, surface and in anticipation of unexpected hazards 23. Moderate your speed 24. Get bike fit. If you’ve got a medical condition then think carefully and take some medical advice 25. Start the trip with a travel ready bike. Get familiar with your bike, what daily checks to make and how to fix issues with it. 26. Take security precautions with your possessions and self 27. You agree to adhere to the Trans Euro Trail® Code of Conduct and be an ambassador of responsible motorcycling. 28. Accept that you are master or mistress of your own destiny, safety, health and security. You take responsibility for whatever happens.
