An earlier show than usual, with a younger crowd, but wow, what a set! Yes, it was packed and sold out and people were jumping around and at times, a little elbow-y, but it was so good! He played all his popular songs and debuted a few new ones and he came back after we chanted “one more song!” pyrotechnics and smoke were alright. i think he could’ve done more with his visuals but no matter, all his music was fire! plays a bunch of instruments AND sings! drummer was great too! 13/10 would do it again.

The show was awesome! Have been following Gryffin for so long, finally being able to see him let me check that off my list. His use of live instruments definitely made the energy of the show unique and enjoyable. When he first ended without playing Whole Heart I stood in shock since that song has been my go to for good vibes since high school. Overall wonderful performance from all artists.

I had expectations for this show, and was excited to attend. It was a good thing that I didn't know just how great it would be, or the days upcoming would have been intolerable! Just plain ol' magical and amazing!! I will be buying tickets to every show in the future that comes to town.

Well worth suffering early the next day at work.

I have been following Gryffin for about 3 years now and it is crazy to see how he's grown as an artist and performer. He paints a colorful picture and makes the world around you feel so beautiful. The energy is amazing and you will leave craving more. If you're even considering, GO! You will not be disappointed.

they sold too many tickets, wouldnt let us in with our tickets that we paid for. left us out in the cold. this is ridiculous and fraud. I will absolutely never go back to the House of Blues. I have seen Gryffin twice before and didnt get into the show with my tickets I paid for.

Quite a thrilling show. I love when recording EDM artists play their instruments in their shows. While the venue was small, Gryffin managed to imbue so much energy into the crowd. I'm not a huge Gryffin and even I enjoyed the show. I would give his performance a 8/10.

Show was exactly what i expected it to be like...

Songs were great and the live instrumentals were just sick! only gripe i had is that the show was over by 1030 which was just a shame as he was on fire from his first song to the last

haswellian’s profile image

So good! It wasn't communicated that ROZES would be opening for Louis futon which was a great surprise. Gryffin did not disappoint. if he comes to New York again this winter I will 100% buy another ticket.

Platinum-selling dance producer Gryffin has unveiled dates for his Alive tour, in support of his forthcoming sophomore album of the same name. Spanning seven shows across the US, Gryffin’s tour kicks off on August 19 at New York’s Brooklyn Mirage, with dates running into the winter.

Gryffin announced his sophomore album earlier this month, revealing that it would be available later this year. In the meantime, he has shared several tracks off Alive , much to the delight of fans. Last Friday, he released the dynamic anthem “Caught Up,” which features hypnotic vocals from Olivia O’Brien. In addition, Gryffin teamed up with frequent collaborator, Swedish singer-songwriter Calle Lehmann, for the album’s title track . Last month, Gryffin also collaborated with Grammy nominated band OneRepublic for the heartfelt song, “You Were Loved.”

Alive follows the producer’s debut studio album Gravity , which was released in October 2019 and featured star-studded appearances from Carly Rae Jepsen, Zedd, and Aloe Blacc. Gravity found strong success, as it reached No.1 on Billboard’s US Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

Presale for the Alive tour begins on May 18 at 12pm local time, with general onsale taking place on May 20 at 10am.

“It feels great to get back on the road and see my fans again,” Gryffin told We Rave You last year. “I really missed performing over the past year, and even though we’re not 100% there yet, it’s really awesome to start announcing new dates again, and I’m optimistic that things will return to normal sooner than later.”

Since first breaking into the global electronic scene, multi-instrumentalist Gryffin has earned his name as an unforgettable live act, tapping into the sophisticated musicality he honed as a classically trained pianist and longtime guitarist. With a remarkable ability to craft infectious melodies and captivating beats, Gryffin has delighted fans with a steady stream of smash singles, including platinum-certified hits like “Tie Me Down” ft. Elley Duhé. Gryffin’s first full-length debut album, Gravity, swiftly ascended to the #1 position on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart in 2019, solidifying his standing as a chart-topping powerhouse in the industry.

In 2022, Gryffin made a highly anticipated comeback with his sophomore album, “Alive”. Through his second body of work, Gryffin showcased his versatility as a producer crafting an eclectic, dance-ready assortment of various subgenres, while preserving the emotional depth that resonates with his fans. In his words, it’s a “great combination of artists I’ve wanted to work with for a long time and artists I’ve worked with for years and feel a strong connection with”. Notable contributors to the album include GRAMMY-nominated alt-rock/pop band OneRepublic, Danish electro-pop icon MØ, R&B singer/songwriter Tinashe, and indie-pop phenom Olivia O’Brien.

For 2024, Gryffin is planning to once again redefine the electronic dance music scene with his third album, which he is launching with his biggest collaboration to date “Last of Us” alongside Rita Ora. Labeled his “most inspiring project to-date,” the multi-instrumentalist’s third full body of work, “PULSE”, will dive into a wide variety of dance music sub-genres infused with his signature melodies and anthemic toplines. Fans are in for a world-building ride this year as Gryffin showcases what he has been working on for over a year. He has secured coveted performances at renowned festivals such as Ultra Music Festival and more to be announced. Gryffin also announced the renewal of his Las Vegas residency at Wynn Nightlife.

Whethan took no time to establish himself as a dominant force in the 2010’s electronic boom. As the youngest producer to release on Australia’s Future Classic label and gaining early recognition from industry icons and future collaborators like Oliver Tree and Charli XCX, the gold-selling Chicago-based artist, producer, and remixer pioneers new creative territory with each release as he approaches his fourth album.

With the inception of each sound, his work quickly resonates, having led to over 1 billion streams and collaborations with a variety of artists such as Elley Duhé, Dua Lipa, Yeat, Bipolar Sunshine, Tom Morello, Nessa Barrett, The Knocks, Jeremih, glaive, and countless others. Priding himself in leading a journey of innovation and never content with the laurels of his gold-selling achievements, Whethan continues to chart new musical territory and billboards, making a distinct evolution in sound with each era.

Even after delving into his impressive list of collabs, Whethan’s production achievements extend even further. His extensive production credits further showcase his versatility, having produced for artists such as Joji, The Chainsmokers, Kygo, Megan Thee Stallion, Meghan Trainor, and BoyWithUke. Each collaboration not only enriches his roster but also underscores his significant influence and adaptability across various music genres.

From the sun-soaked anthems o his debut record, Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 1 to the dance-pop finesse of his followup, Fantasy, to the hypertrap grit of his most recent album, MIDNIGHT, Whethan’s discography is a testament to versatility itself. Now, as we venture into 2024, Whethan is giving fans a long-awaited return to form. With his recent announcement of Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 2, the upcoming project will act as more than just a nod to his roots, but a showcase of his growth from then to now. Fans new and old have much to anticipate for what’s in store this year, with LOAW2 acting as both a reflection and maturation of the sound that made Whethan what he is today.

With his monthly listeners constantly breaking new highs and the recent viral success of the single, MONEY ON THE DASH, 2024 is leading up to be one of the most formative and impactful years of Whethan’s career yet. Whethan continues to prove time and time again that he isn’t just a part of the music scene – he’s shaping it.

Sofi Tukker on stage in a blue and pink border

Where’s the beat drop? Amongst the palm trees, of course.

The Palm Tree Music Festival , a traveling EDM extravaganza, with past locations in Bali, Cabo, Australia and Hawaii swooped into the Hamptons in New York on June 22.

And, we had a blast.

However, if you missed the Southampton fest, you need not fret. 2024’s final Palm Tree Festival is slated to take place at Lake Tahoe, NV’s Harveys Outdoor Arena on Friday, July 12.

Headlined by household house names Gryffin and Disco Lines and featuring DJ sets from Drama and Vandelux , the one-day jamboree is a guaranteed good time for ravers, club-heads and the EDM-curious alike.

Best of all, as of now, last-minute Palm Tree Tahoe tickets are still available.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on general admission passes was $111 before fees on Vivid Seats.

All prices are subject to fluctuation.

Why go to the Palm Tree Music Festival? Our review

Sofi Tukker on stage

Sofi Tukker says it best — there is nothing better than “Summer in New York.” That’s especially true when you’re spending it with a stacked EDM lineup in the Hamptons.

For the first time ever, the Palm Tree Festival was held on land owned by the Shinnecock Nation in Southampton on June 22, as exclusively reported by Page Six. The festival is typically held at the Francis S. Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach, but the Southampton location’s inaugural season went off with a bang at its new location and the one-day fest quickly sold out, in both VIP and General Admission.

Palm Tree was indeed only one day, but a jam-packed one at that, as the single stage event hosted seven (!) acts, from the headliners Swedish House Mafia and Kygo to DJ sets by Sofi Tukker, Purple Disco Machine, Xandra and more earlier in the day to pump up the crowds.

Even after an impromptu rain storm, the typically-linen clad and posh Hamptonites turned it out and stayed dancing through the storm. The show went on and kudos go to the Palm Tree crew for making the experience feel fluid while concert-goers stuck it out, despite being a bit soggy.

When not dancing, the venue was well stocked with partners and vendors, including waterdrop , Celsius and Don Julio for all sorts of hydration during the New York heat wave.

All that being said, the Hamptons Palms Tree Fest made for a truly unforgettable Saturday and, yes, we’re already counting down the days until the beat drops in Lake Tahoe.

Reduced fields relegation in-season promotion korn ferry tour 'majors' everything on the table in pga tour overhaul, share this article.

gryffin on tour

The PGA Tour announced a few minor tweaks last week for next season’s signature events but that is the low-hanging fruit.

Change is coming.

Reduced fields? Relegation? Korn Ferry Tour majors? Fewer exempt players? All this and more are being discussed by the 16-member Tour’s Player Advisory Council and could be implemented as soon as the 2026 season. The PGA Tour declined to comment for this story other than to say, “the PAC and player directors are actively involved in all facets regarding the future of the PGA Tour,” and some PAC members declined too, but not all of them.

“For the first time in a while I was excited after our last PAC meeting (in Fort Worth during the Charles Schwab Challenge),” said veteran pro Kevin Streelman. “We started talking and spitballing ideas about what things could look like. There were some ideas that seemed very good and would bring some consistency and true competitiveness to the top players in the world and still give a soft landing and a hopeful resurgence and opportunity if you fall off.

“There’s this super tour up here that everyone wants to be on, the big tournaments. But then you still want to be able to play and support your family and some hope of getting back. There were some cool ideas of relegation and promotion going both ways.”

Lanto Griffin said there’s support among the PAC for reducing tournament sizes to 120 players across the board regardless of regular or signature event. To do so, they would reduce the number of players that keep exempt status from 125 – the number 100 has been bandied around as a better figure although Rory McIlroy has suggested going even lower – and staggering down to the low figure over the course of several years.

“I think it’d be gradual, so that’s 125 to 120, 120 to 115 to slowly push lower and have less Q-School and Korn Ferry graduates,” Griffin said.

He said that they need to shape the schedule so the best players continue to play against each other as much as possible but also allow all exempt players to have a fair shake. He noted that Q-School and Korn Ferry Tour graduates are at a distinct disadvantage under the current system.

“They’re playing on the B-tour this year,” he said. “In an ideal world, the PGA Tour should be 20-22 tournaments from January to August. I know that’s not every week. Then have some tournaments go to the Korn Ferry Tour just throwing random names – (Cognizant), a Valero, a Dominican, those are Korn Ferry majors, you win one of those and you get promoted (in-season). It’s just an idea of having it where two signature events in a row, week off, three on, whatever it needs to be to where the top guys don’t have to play every week; they are still playing together but it’s 120 (man fields). If you get your card through Korn Ferry, it’s top 20 or top 25, you’re in those. We all think that’s the ideal situation, whether or not it’ll get there, who knows, it’s nowhere close.”

Griffin added: “Sam Burns came up to me (at the RBC Canadian Open) and said he’s talked to a lot of people about what I said at the PAC meeting and he was like, ‘Everybody that I’ve talked to agrees.’ They’re on board with it.”

Peter Malnati, a player director on the Tour policy board, confirmed that such conversations have reached the board level but said they are in the early stages of discussions. Reducing field sizes from 156 brings the question of how many members can the Tour realistically have and still provide enough starts?

“Those are the questions we’re just starting to tackle. If we’re going to minimize the size of the membership gradually over the next few years, we’ve got to create a platform where guys are motivated to go play and earn their way back to the Tour. What we have now is a survival tour,” Malnati said. “That excites me that that is something we’re thinking about as a leadership group.”

Streelman said much of the conversation spilled over after the last PAC meeting concluded and that Jason Gore, the PGA Tour’s chief player officer, has been intimately involved in shaping the changes.

“I’d say we’re diligently working to try to appease the top players, our marketing partners, our fans and the integrity of the Tour and their competitions to deliver the greatest product and highlight the best players week after week,” Streelman said. “This was the first time I was pretty stoked about the direction we may be headed. I hope we get it right and I think we will get it right. We’re working hard on it.”

Malnati said that the Tour has drawn inspiration from Theo Epstein of SSG, who gave a presentation in April that showed how Major League Baseball created a spreadsheet of categories with headers such as “this is possible and it can help,” “this is very unlikely and it can help,” “this is very farfetched and it can help.” There were nine categories in all.

“In 2014, one of the ideas that was under a header of ‘we’ll never do it because it violates our tradition’ was a pitch clock. They thought it was too far out there and would never happen. Here we are and there’s a pitch clock and it’s been very well received,” Malnati said.

The pitch clock was implemented last season and has been a big success in reducing game time. So it’s possible that even the most far-fetched ideas thrown out by Griffin and company may have merit.

“That’s where the Tour is now: how can we hang on to the traditions that are really important while making the product the best it can be?” Malnati said. “Part of the mission statement was to provide playing opportunities for the membership. How do we hold on to that tradition but also make sure those playing opportunities are high-quality playing opportunities?”

Last week the Tour approved two adjustments for signature events starting next year: an exemption for Tiger Woods and a minimum field of 72 players with an alternate list to maintain that number in the event of a withdrawal. Expect next year’s schedule to be pretty similar, Streelman said, noting it has to follow the Tour’s governance policies. Field size reductions and fewer exempt players would be implemented no sooner than 2026.

“Things will start to be discussed in the summer, voted on in the fall,” Streelman said.

For now, there are intriguing ideas being explored at the PAC level, the best of which will rise to the board level.

“It’s nowhere close to being official by any means,” Griffin said. “So a lot of wait and see.”
