Eat super authentic mango sticky rice in Pattaya

mango sticky rice on black plate

Do you know what's special from April to June in Thailand?

Yes, enjoy the most delicious mango fruit in the world.

Not only because the price is super cheap but also because the taste is second to none. In Thailand, this is a particularly popular mango harvest season.

Make sure you make a note of this dish in your travel itinerary so you don't forget it when you get in Thailand.

Mango sticky rice - simple but special

That day, I was strolling through the streets of Pattaya, Thailand's southernmost region. This location is said to be well-known for its nightlife, shopping, and street cuisine.

The temperature was really high on that particular day. I was considering ordering a cup of iced cha yen. Yes, the cold Cha yen always manages to rapidly quench my thirst. Thai tea's sweet flavor and fresh aroma are fantastic on the tongue.

The next thing on my agenda is to locate my prized dessert. For a long time, I've been longing to try this Thai cuisine. However, it appears that the times are making it difficult to bring us together. But not on that particular day. I'm going to have to get it.

Mango Sticky Rice is also known as khaw niaw mamuang in Thailand. Mamuang means mango and khaw niaw implies sticky rice. Although khaw niaw mamuang is best recognized as a Thai dessert, it is also popular in Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Thai people typically choose yellow mangoes of the kind nam doc mai or mango flower nectar to offer the perfect mix of sticky rice and mango because they taste sweeter than green mangoes and glutinous sticky rice.

A dish of khaw niaw mamuang costs between 40 and 60 baht. One portion is big enough, sufficient to keep my tummy satisfied until dinner arrives. Besides mamuang or mango, khaw niaw (sticky rice) is also commonly served with tukrien or durian

One serving of khaw niaw mamuang contains a spoonful of sticky rice, 1 whole mango that has been peeled and cut into small pieces, and thick coconut milk sauce.

My buddy, who was with us while we wandered about, was astonished and inquired why I wanted to eat mango sticky rice so badly at the time. Because ever since we stepped foot in downtown Pattaya, I've been pestering my buddies to stop there and grab this cuisine before returning to the hotel.

Yes, I'm just curious. Mango-strewn sticky rice? How does it make you feel? I had no clue until that night, when the first mouthful of khaw niaw mamuang entered my mouth for the first time.

At first I thought the sticky rice taste would be plain or bland, but it turned out to be a bit salty. Then the mango..... wow it’s a champion. The scent is fresh and powerful, despite the appealing color. Taste? A kind of alto and soprano voices that complement each other in a choral group. Fantastic.

A pinch of sticky rice with soft mango and practically no fiber grinded nicely between my tongue and teeth. It also has a savory coconut milk sauce that dances to the beat of the sweet, juicy mango. It seems right to me, and it's not at all awful. It's no surprise that mango sticky rice, also known as khaw niaw mamuang in Thailand, is one of the world's most popular dishes.

I went looking for a motorbike rental after finishing my mango sticky rice.

Pattaya offers a diverse range of tourist attractions, including natural and man-made sites as well as temples. Beautiful beaches, pristine lakes, extensive plantations, and numerous temples may all be found in Pattaya. Because the trip is so short, you may visit in one day on a motorcycle.

Due to travel restriction at the moment, you may try Mango sticky rice at Red Lemon Thai at Ultimo to satisfy your mouth.

  • If you love mango sticky rice, this is the best place in the city to get it!
  • This shop is dedicated to this one dish, and it does it so well that it’s become famous amongst tourists and locals alike.

Why it’s so awesome: Mango sticky rice is the perfect dish to eat while you’re in Pattaya. It’s sweet and filling and is a great antidote to the hot, humid days. You can get mango sticky rice all over the city, and locals and tourists do just that. But Mae Sai Thong only sells this dish and does it so well that it’s become one of the most popular places to eat in Pattaya for this dish alone.

What to do there: This store is open year-round selling perfectly ripened mango sticky rice to locals and tourists. You may have to line up to get your share because it’s a popular spot at every time of the year, but the taste is worth the wait.

#14 – The Sanctuary of Truth

The Sanctuary of Truth

  • This is one of the most famous and recognizable landmarks in Pattaya.
  • A stunningly beautiful building meant to encourage self-reflection and thought.
  • You’ll get some amazing photos at this site, so  make sure you take your camera.

Why it’s so awesome: The Sanctuary of Truth is 105 meters tall and made from teak wood. The wood has been carved into one of the most intricate designs you’ll ever see. It’s not Buddhist. Instead, it was created by a businessman as a place for thought and self-reflection. And like the journey of self-improvement, the building isn’t complete and probably never will be. It’s the ultimate reflection of the nature of the self and growth.

What to do there: Every part of the inside and outside of the building boasts intricate, beautiful carvings, which is what makes this temple one of the most beautiful places in Pattaya. So, make sure that you spend some time wandering the halls and taking photos of your favorite carvings. And while you’re there, you should spend some time reflecting on your life and yourself. That’s what the building is for, after all.

#15 – Central Festival – A great place in Pattaya if you love to shop!

Central Festival

  • A cool place out of the sun where you can explore designer stores and goods.
  • There are lots of entertainment options in this building including a cinema and bowling alley, so even if you don’t like shopping, you’ll enjoy your time at this center.

Why it’s so awesome: The Central Festival is the biggest and most important shopping destination in Pattaya. It’s filled with designer stores including Calvin Klein, Armani and French Connection. So, if you want to grab a designer label for cheaper than you would find at home, this is definitely the place to spend an afternoon.

What to do there: if you enjoy shopping, then wander the many floors of this building until you find something that catches your eye. When you get tired of that, you can take advantage of the many restaurants selling food from just about every country you can imagine. There’s also a cinema and bowling alley if you get tired of the shops but still want to stay in the air-conditioned comfort of the shopping center.

#16 – Mini Siam and Mini Europe – One of the more unique places to visit in Pattaya!

Mini Siam and Mini Europe

  • You can go home from your trip to Thailand with images of the most famous buildings in Europe!
  • The photographs you get in this area will be amazing.

Why it’s so awesome: Just outside the city, this site is made up of gardens that are filled with replicas of the most famous buildings in Thailand and Europe. The miniatures are crafted at a scale of 1:25 and are surprisingly accurate and realistic looking despite their small size.

What to do there: If you’ve ever wanted to take a picture of yourself with the Tower of Pisa, then this is your chance. For even better photos, go at night when the statues are lit up and looking stunning against the green gardens around them.

  • Cleaner and quieter than any other beach in Pattaya.

Why it’s so awesome: The crowds at the popular beaches in Pattaya can get overwhelming. If you want to enjoy the sun, sand and surf but don’t want to fight for towel space, then this is the beach for you. Jomtien is a resort town for more relaxed travelers and offers a palm tree-lined beach that’s quiet, relaxing, and just as good as the more popular beaches.

What to do there: This isn’t the beach for anyone who wants to drink and make lots of noise. Instead, this is a place for relaxed, laid-back travelers who like a little peace with their sun. So, go for a swim, sunbathe, or just sit and watch the waves. And when you get too warm, there are lots of restaurants and cafes lining the beach where you can get a cool drink and a great meal overlooking the water.

  • A great chance for you to experience Thai culture and history in a cutting-edge way.

Why it’s so awesome: You might think Pattaya is all beaches and bars, but this show will allow you to experience the deeper side of the city. It merges cinema, technology and live action to create jaw-dropping performances that explore Thai culture, literature, folklore and pure imagination in incredibly novel and creative ways.

What to do there: You’ll need to buy a ticket for these performances because they’re really popular, but it’s worth making the effort. Once you experience this Pattaya must do, you’ll be glad you made the effort.

What to do there: You should spend some time on the observation deck first. The view of Jomtien beach and the rest of Pattaya is amazing and will offer you some of the best pictures of your trip. Try the tower Jump or the Sky Shuttle if you’re looking for a thrill. And then, once your stomach has settled, choose a restaurant on the 52nd, 53rd or 54th floor and take in the views while you eat an amazing meal. If you are staying in one of Pattayas many hostels , you may be able to spot it from up high!

#23 – Sukhawadee Mansion

Sukhawadee Mansion

  • One of the most important landmarks in Pattaya and certainly one of the prettiest!
  • This building is located on the right side of Sukhumvit Road on the way into Pattaya from Bangkok, so it’s easy to find.

Why it’s so awesome: This building is a monument to the Thai Kingdom and its lasting unity and harmony and it’s an unusual one too. The building is done completely in light pastel colors, making it look a little like an expensive confectionary treat, and it’s surrounding by geometric gardens that look great against the whimsy of the building.

What to do there: You can take pictures of the outside but not of the inside. So, if you decide to take a tour of the inside, you will have to leave your camera behind. Make sure you have a look at the statues dotted around the gardens and enjoy the sea view. And that’s exactly what Buddha mountain will allow you to do, which is a trip to this area is one of the best Pattaya vacation ideas you’ll have. This is still an active landmark, with monks in the attached temple, so remember to be respectful of the site and it’s meaning to the Thai people.

What to do there: Take photos of the giant Buddha while you think about the difficulty of making the carving so high up and in such a remote area. Afterwards, take advantage of the amenities that have sprung up in the area to make your trip as comfortable as possible.

What to do there: Take the kids along with you to the show. They tend to sell out quickly, so make sure you book your tickets ahead of time if you want good seats. Afterwards, you can take photos with the illusionary headless body and other amazing illusions as well, just to leave you with a great souvenir of your visit.

What to do there: You need to take some time to wander this venue when you’re visiting Pattaya as there’s a lot to see and experience. Make sure you check out the artifacts in the Chinese pavilions and you can also walk up to Wat Yansangwararam’s shrine. It’s located on a hill, up a staircase with 299 steps, each of them lined with Naga snakes. You’ll need a bit of energy and natural fitness to get up there, but it’s worth the hike.

#29 – The Bottle Art Museum – One of the more unique places to visit in Pattaya!

  • If you enjoy slightly weird but incredibly creative pieces of art, this is the museum for you.
  • Take your wallet with you, because you just might be tempted to take home one of the tiny worlds in a bottle.

Why it’s so awesome: This museum was brought to Pattaya by artist Peter Bedelais, who creates these tiny worlds in a bottle. The museum contains more than 300 replicas of tourist attractions, Chinese palaces, and Buddha images all contained in gracefully curving glass. You’ll be surprised at the variety and the creativity of each tiny world!

What to do there: There’s nothing better than experiencing a new and creative form of art and that’s exactly what these battles are. They’re one man’s way of exploring and sharing the culture and landmarks in Pattaya. And if you take one of them home to your family, they’re sure to love the unusual souvenir of your trip!

What to do there: Wander through the displays of flowers. You’ll probably see a few colors and varieties that you’ve never heard of. And bring your wallet with you if you’re a flower fan. Most Thai women love orchids, so if you have a date then this is the perfect place to find a gift that will delight her!

#31 – Sam Kok (The Three Kingdoms Theme Park)

Sam Kok

  • This garden is based on the idea of Chinese Feng Shui, so it’s harmonious on a level that will astonish westerners!
  • This is the perfect place to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet while learning about Chinese-Thai architecture, and Buddhism at the same time.
  • The garden is a monument to the Chinese epic novel ‘The Three Kingdoms’ and displays in the garden help tell that story.

Why it’s so awesome: This garden was created to help people, particularly westerners, understand and appreciate the Thai culture, Buddhism, and Chinese culture a little more. And it succeeded quite well at these goals as well. The garden is harmonious, with Chinese-Thai architecture and landscape design, and you can learn about the story behind Sam Kok as you wander around.

What to do there: Take your time when you’re wandering through this thematic garden. There are 3 main pagodas in the area so make sure you explore them all and go up to the top floor of the main pagoda. You’ll get some amazing view of the garden from that angle and be able to take some great photos. This display is often very quiet, it’s one of the lesser-known points of interest in Pattaya, so you can really take your time and wander around the picturesque gardens.

About Mango Travel

A taxi trip is a convenient and enjoyable way to get to your destination without being dependent on a fixed schedule and route. Taxi offers private customized door-to-door service. It is especially handy if you have special requirements, e.g. a car seat, a car of a certain class, or need to call at several places enroute. It is always a good idea to book your trip at least several days before to secure your trip.

Mango Travel offers taxi rides with online booking. Check other travellers’ reviews to find out how they rate their service.

What are the Main Stations of Mango Travel?

Basically a taxi can bring you almost anywhere within their region of service. Yet in most cases every taxi operator can name several main routes they serve. Here are the destinations Mango Travel’s taxis can help you get to or from:

What are the Most Popular Routes of Mango Travel?

You are totally free to go wherever you want by taxi, yet many travellers order Mango Travel’s taxis to travel the following routes:

  • Koh Chang - Pattaya

What are the Taxi Classes & Prices of Mango Travel?

Mango Travel uses different vehicles as taxis. Depending on the number of people in your group and your requirements to comfort levels you can choose the class of the vehicle which suits your best. A useful piece of advice – check the rates of a higher class vehicle even if you are comfortable to go with standard class. For example, sometimes operators offer huge discounts on vans, and a van taxi may cost you the same or almost the same as a standard class car but it is definitely more comfortable to travel by van as it has more legroom and luggage space.

Pros & Cons of Taxi Travel

Pros of taxi travel.

  • Travelling by taxi gives you flexibility in terms of the departure time, route, and stops along the way. The only thing to remember is to inform your taxi operator of your requirements in advance so they can calculate the right fare for you. Otherwise, the final bill can be higher than expected
  • Taxi is the best means of transport which allows you to keep social distancing during the pandemic.
  • Taxi may be the only means of transport available to bring you to some destinations where there is no train, bus, or van connection, not to speak about planes.

Cons of Taxi Travel

  • Taking a taxi can be costly compared to van or bus travel. Well, but private service does come at a price, so no surprise here
  • You may have to pay extra for any unexpected deviation from the route or waiting time if it occurs. Do discuss your every request in advance and make sure it is included into the calculation of your fare.
  • If you speak the same language, some taxi drivers can be annoyingly talkative.
  • For nervous passengers who follow the trip on Google Maps it can be quite disturbing if your taxi driver chooses to take a weird route, a shortcut, or just to make a detour to avoid traffic jams or a bad road.

How to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang

  • By ThaiRest in Koh Chang , Transport

First of all, the article deals with transfers by minibuses. Despite the fact that the transfer of Pattaya – Koh Chang is not the most budgetary way to get to the island, it is recommended by all experienced travelers who once convinced of its advantages. A very small overpayment for the specified transfer compared to other methods described at the end of this article and also allowing you to get to Koh Chang from Pattaya and back, is completely compensated by the convenience and simplicity.

Today in Pattaya it is easy to find many tourist offices that are happy to sell you a shuttle service to Koh Chang Island, but not everywhere the prices are the same and you can pay 400 THB or 1200 THB for the same way. This is due to the fact that not all sellers and transport companies themselves deliver passengers along the Pattaya – Koh Chang route: many are only intermediaries. As a result, the transfer cost for customers of such companies will often be higher than for tourists who turned directly to the transfer organizers.

CONTENTS OF ARTICLE ( links for quick navigation)

Transfer Pattaya – Koh Chang by Mango Travel

Transfer pattaya – koh chang by 35 group pattaya, minibus transfer koh chang – pattaya from 35 group pattaya, why transfer pattaya – koh chang is more convenient than a big bus.

This way to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang appeared in July 2018 and is popular with tourists who prefer to get to Koh Chang Island from Pattaya quickly and without additional transfers. The essence of this proposal is delivery from hotel to hotel. At the same time, your move to Koh Chang consists of three stages:

one). A minibus picks you up at Pattaya Hotel and takes you to the pier in Trat Province.

2). You overcome the water section of the route by big ferry to Koh Chang.

3). You again take your place in the minibus, and it takes you to the hotel on the island of Koh Chang.

You can order a transfer from Manga Travel on the Transportation in Asia website . In this case, you do not need to visit the company office in Pattaya and spend your time and money on it. Payment is possible using Paypal and bank cards. The transfer price includes a ferry ticket. However, there are some restrictions regarding the location of hotels in Pattaya and Koh Chang. In Pattaya, a free shuttle service includes the entire southern part of the city (Jomtien and Na Jomtien areas), all of central Pattaya and the Cholchan area in North Pattaya.

At the same time, the company does not take tourists whose hotels are located on Sukhumvit Road. Free shipping to Koh Chang is available for hotels located on the beaches of White Sand beach, Klong Prao beach, Kai Bae beach, Lonely beach and Bailan beach. Those, this is almost the entire western coast of Koh Chang, where 90% of all hotels are located. The price also includes the carriage of one baggage per passenger. Before the trip, you must print a voucher that was sent by e-mail after paying for the transfer.

The trip from Pattaya to Koh Chang takes about 6 hours, but in reality, the trip to the island may take longer. The collection of tourists in Pattaya hotels begins at 7:00 in the morning, and the departure from the city is usually around 07:40. During the trip, there are 1-2 stops at the gas station, where tourists can visit the free toilets and buy something in shops and cafes. The minibus includes 14 passenger seats and is equipped with air conditioning (it is better to use a light jacket if you do not tolerate chilled air.

The cost of a Pattaya – Koh Chang transfer from Mango Travel at the time of this writing is 990 THB. At first glance, this is not very cheap, especially if you are not traveling alone. For example, you can order an individual transfer by car for 3500-4000 THB for 4 people. The cost for each passenger will be approximately the same. And comfort and speed are higher. But if you compare with other offers of transfers by minibuses, then the option can be considered.

Minibus of Mango Travel at Koh Chang island pier

You can easily find transfers for 500-600 THB from Pattaya to the pier in the province of Trat, but then you must additionally pay a ferry ticket (+80 THB) and a pick-up taxi to the desired beach (from 50 to 150 THB in day time, but maybe more expensive in the evening time). It turns out that instead of 500-600 THB, the cost of your trip increases to 700-900 THB, which is not much cheaper than the transfer price. Plus, you may have to go some way on foot to the hotel from the main road on the your beach.

In other words, I recommend choosing a transfer from Mango Travel in cases when you want to receive a full transfer from hotel to hotel without additional transfers and communication with local taxi drivers. If you want to save money, especially when you are not traveling alone, I recommend using the following option, which I always use myself.

The company with the best prices today and an excellent reputation is 35 Group Pattaya, whose office is located on the third street in Pattaya, near the intersection with South Street. If you go from the beginning of Walking Street along South Street, you need to go through several small intersections, i.e. Third Street is not the next intersection after Second Street, as many people think, but much further, but I always walked without problems. Your landmark – a traffic light at a more big intersection than the previous ones and a small repair of motorbikes in front of it, located in the building on the right in the direction of travel (although it is useless to describe establishments and signs in Pattaya, as everything is changing rapidly).

At this intersection, turn left and go through several buildings until you see a 4-storey pink building with balconies, again on the left side of the corresponding sign (see photo) and a glass door. By the way, on road signs the street is designated as Pattaya Tai (Latin alphabet). In order not to look for an office for a long time in reality in the conditions of the hot Thai sun, I recommend that you first look at your path using Google Street View. Before entering the office you should take off your shoes (you will see a lot of shoes in front of the door and remember this).

35 Group Pattaya office under a yellow corporate sign

At the office of the transport company you will be asked which island you want to order the transfer to (Pattaya – Koh Chang), the date and time of departure you need. You must also provide the name of your hotel and its address in Pattaya. If your hotel is small and little-known, take a business card with the address at the reception so that the driver will definitely find you before driving to Koh Chang). Also it will not be a problem if you prefer to live in private apartments in Pattaya, as I do with Airbnb (here you can get a gift of 43 USD for registration in this service). You will also need to leave a phone number for communication in Thailand. You are probably using mobile communications in Thailand and this will not be a problem either.

35 Group Pattaya operates three flights on the Pattaya – Koh Chang route per day: at 07:00 and 09:00 in the morning and at 13:00. The transfer price from Pattaya to Koh Chang from 2013 to the present is only 400 baht, while the indicated price includes a ticket for the ferry Trat – Koh Chang (which costs 80 baht when buying separately). If you plan to return from Koh Chang to Pattaya (and not to Bangkok, for example), I advise you to immediately book a ticket in the opposite direction, i.e. transfer from Koh Chang to Pattaya. Previously, this way you could save another 100 baht, because a round-trip transfer until the end of 2017 cost 700 THB). Since 2018, the cost of a round-trip transfer has been 800 THB. The return ticket can be taken with an open date (tell the girl in the office that you need an “open ticket”). With the return transfer, there are some nuances that are described in the next section.

This is what the 35 Group Pattaya VIP minibus looks like inside and out

After paying for tickets, you will not need to take any action in order to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang. Just expect a minibus at the right time in the right place (the girl in the office will write to you in advance on paper what time the minibus will pick you up at the hotel or condo). At the appointed time, you will be picked up and taken by Toyota’s comfortable VIP minibus to the pier in the area of Trat, where ferries depart for Koh Chang. Near the pier there is a small office of 35 Group Pattaya, whose employee will give you ferry tickets to Koh Chang. Ferry ticket to Koh Chang – red. If you paid a return transfer to Pattaya, make sure that you received a return ferry ticket from Koh Chang Island (green).

Next you must go to a small waiting room and wait for the nearest ferry to the island. In fine weather, you can see the island from the mainland. A ferry takes you to Koh Chang in about 30 minutes. There is a cafe on the passenger deck and you can take a free Ko Chang card. The Koh Chang ferry pier is located on the east side of the island, and most hotels and beaches are on the west. Therefore, you may have to use a songthaew (passenger taxi pickup). To the nearest Koh Chang beach, the description of which is given in a separate article – White Sand Beach – the trip will cost 50-60 baht, to Kai Bae Beach and Lonely beach – 100-150 baht (depending on the time of day and the total number of passengers in a pickup truck).

When ordering a transfer from Pattaya to Koh Chang, you can pay for shipping directly to a specific hotel on the island. Of course, it will cost more, about 600 THB one way or about 1200 THB for a trip in both directions. but for some, the option will seem convenient, especially if you managed to save a lot by using the hotel search and price comparison form in various reservation systems, which is located a little lower. Please note: the reputation of 35 Group Pattaya is really very good, therefore it is increasingly necessary to book a Pattaya – Koh Chang transfer in advance. I myself was faced with a situation where I had to postpone the trip to Koh Chang for one day due to the lack of free seats in the minibus. Therefore, if you want to guaranteedly leave for Koh Chang Island from Pattaya cheaply – book a transfer in advance.

If you ordered a return transfer, be sure to ask the employee of the 35 Group Pattaya company, which will meet you upon arrival at the pier, for a return ticket for the ferry. For some reason, she immediately refused to give such a receipt to me and I had to demand more insistently, indicating that there was a ticket with an open date back. If the return transfer was originally ordered for a specific date, you just arrive a few hours before leaving for Pattaya to the island pier, exchange the ticket receipt and go to the ferry.

But if the return transfer is Koh Chang – Pattaya with an open date, you should definitely call the company office two days before the planned departure from the island and reserve a place in the minibus. If this is not done, there may be no free seats on the bus and you will have to look for other options for returning to Pattaya and overpay for it. A small clarification: by phone, employees only speak Thai and English (as in the company’s offices). You will need to indicate the number of the transfer agreement, date and departure time from ferry pier on mainland to Pattaya.

Ferry tickets (round trip) and 35 Group Pattaya voucher

An exchange of a ticket receipt is made in the window at the entrance to the pier on the island (before departure to the mainland). You can get to the pier in the same way as when arriving on the island – using songthaew. By the way, it is better to arrive at the pier in advance so as not to be late for your return transfer. Having arrived by ferry to Trat (Natural Bay Pier), you must again contact the office of the 35 Group Pattaya company, next whose doors buses leave and show your ticket. Often, at the same time, a bright sticker with the name of the company will be glued to your T-shirt so that you do not get lost.

If the minibus of the company arrived at your chosen time, and there was no place for you in it, you should not panic and curse, “losing face.” Another minibus will arrive soon and you will definitely be taken to the hotel in Pattaya from where you were originally taken. On the way there and back, the minibus must make stops at the gas station, where you must leave the bus for a few minutes. You can just stretch your legs, or you can have a bite to eat with local food, eat fruit or go to the 7/11 store (not at all gas stations) and buy Thai soft drinks or thai beer there. Just don’t mix up minibuses, there are usually a lot of them and all white. Therefore, pay attention to the name of the company (in the photo highlighted with a yellow marker) and remember fellow travelers.

White VIP minibuses and drivers 35 Group Pattaya

More accessible at first glance ways are regular buses passing through Pattaya to Trat. Their cost is about 200-250 THB. It would seem that the amount is almost two times less than the cost of an organized transfer to the island of Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand. However, if you add 80 THB per ferry ticket to this amount, you already get about 300 THB. Plus, you need to get from the hotel to the North Bus Station in Pattaya or Sukhumvit Highway (10-20 THB for a songthaew or much more by taxi), find a suitable bus (and this is also not easy if you use the Sukhumvit highway passing through Sukhkumvit through Pattaya, which you need to stop yourself or ask the locals to do this, also for a small fee).

In addition, from Trat city itself it will be necessary to independently get to one of the ferry berths, using for this local songthaew, which will again cost you about 50 baht. In other words, the amount is similar, plus or minus 30 baht, while there are much more difficulties, especially if there are problems with English or Thai. If you book a transfer in both directions, then this method is not only the fastest, but also the cheapest and the method with regular buses cannot compete at all.

Also remember that a trip of about 270 km in length on a VIP minibus with comfortable leather seats will in any case be faster in time and more convenient than on a regular intercity bus that goes to Trat for about six hours with many stops. Decide which way to get from Pattaya to Koh Chang is more convenient, anyway. I wish you a successful and comfortable trip!

Location and contact.

As the name suggests, mango is in abundance in this lovely little cafe on the Sukhumvit Road just past the hospital. In addition to the mango dishes, there is a selection of coffees and soft drinks. Sticky rice and mango is fantastic but when they... add ice cream it doesn't get much better. More

Love the mango display at the entrance as well as the sticky rice are so yummylicious. Menu is simple yet a few selections of mango dessert, coffee selection. Definitely a cozy place to hide in from the hot weather

mango travel pattaya

This is my favourite place in pattaya to get mango and sticky rice. Premises are small but service is always quick and friendly. Consistently good

As a lover of mango and sticky rice this cafe is one of my favourites. Always make a point of visiting whenever I am in the town. As usual great service.

Delicious mango sticky rice with ice cream! yummy!! If you’re looking to try a unique way to eat mango, this is the café to visit.

I personally liked the variety of coffee they have. I liked their shakes and their concept to use mango. Definitely one time to go.
