Things to Do

Woburn abbey and safari park.

Woburn Abbey & Deer Park

Set in a beautiful 3,000 acre deer park, with 10 species of deer roaming free, Woburn Abbey has been the home of the Russell family for nearly 400 years. Today it is occupied by the 15th Duke and his family.

The Abbey lies at the heart of the Woburn Estate, a special place full of history, ancient tales and beautiful objects. You can explore Woburn Abbey, its grounds and deer park and discover for yourself what makes the Abbey one of Britain's most treasured houses.

Woburn Safari Park

The Safari Reserves, with their wide open spaces, provide the perfect habitat for the park’s animals to roam freely and behave naturally. They also offer you the opportunity to get an unparalleled close-up look at the world’s most magnificent creatures.

The excitement continues in our 40 acre leisure area - with more animals to see; more adventures to be had. Hold on to your visitor guide and map as it gives the times for our lively programme of animal demonstrations and keeper talks. This is the perfect opportunity to meet the animals and talk with the staff who care for them. Woburn Village

Woburn has been described in guidebooks as "A Georgian town of village proportions". A village noted for its fine architecture, individual shops, tea rooms, restaurants and the countryside & parkland that surrounds it.

Over its many years, Woburn has maintained its character and charm. Today more than 200 listed buildings can be found within its boundaries, many of them on the main thoroughfare.

Although steeped in history, the village is also a centre of modern life, with a wide range of interesting shops and restaurants for you to visit.

Important information.

The VIRGINIA SAFARI PARK, a 180-acre drive-through zoo located in Natural Bridge, VA, is NOT associated with the Natural Bridge Zoo, which is also located in Natural Bridge.

Unfortunately, with the recent legal issues and press coverage surrounding the Natural Bridge Zoo we have found it necessary to post this clarification. We have been contacted by many sources that have inadvertently confused the two zoos.

Our official website is www.virginiasafaripark.com. Please beware of copycat imitations. Again, the VIRGINIA SAFARI PARK is NOT associated with the Natural Bridge Zoo and never has been.

Thank you for your understanding.
