The 2023 SEC tournament for men's basketball started Wednesday, March 8 and went through Sunday, March 12. Alabama defeated Texas A&M to win the title.

Alabama was the top seed. Tennessee beat Texas A&M in the 2022 championship game.

The SEC has been one of the country’s most unpredictable conferences since the 2022-2023 men’s basketball season started, and now it’s time for the league to host its annual tournament and and hand out its automatic berth to the NCAA tournament. The 2023 SEC Tournament runs from March 8-12 in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.

Alabama was picked to finish fifth in the league in the preseason, but they will enter the SEC tournament as the top seed. The Crimson Tide is likely to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament regardless of what happens in Nashville. Alabama showed it could be an elite team with early season wins over Houston and North Carolina, and it maintained that status by winning the conference in the regular season with 16 wins in 18 games. Star wing Brandon Miller is the leading scorer among all freshmen in DI men’s college basketball, and projects as a potential top-five NBA draft pick. This has been the season in program history on the court for Alabama, but it’s been overshadowed by former forward Darius Miles being charged with capital murder for the Jan. killing of 23-year-old Jamea Harris . Miles was kicked off the team after his arrest.

Texas A&M was picked to finish sixth in the league, but will enter the conference tournament as its No. 2 seed. Head coach Buzz Williams has an emerging star point guard in sophomore Wade Taylor. The Aggies are rock solid on both ends of the floor, and thrive crashing the offensive glass and getting to the foul line.

Kentucky was picked to win the league in the preseason, and still earned the double-bye despite an up-and-down season. The biggest storyline for the Wildcats is health: point guards Cason Wallace and Sahvir Wheeler were both held out late in the regular season with injuries. The Wildcats enter the tournament as the No. 16 offense in the country despite rarely taking three-pointers. The team still revolves around reigning national player of the year Oscar Tshiebwe and his incredible rebounding on both ends of the court.

The top four seeds in the SEC tournament receive a double-bye. Our latest bracketology projection had eight SEC teams in the NCAA tournament field. The winner gets an automatic berth to the big dance.

The smart thing might be to pick Alabama, due to their consistency and ability to take over games on both sides of the ball. However, Tennessee’s defense is number one in the country according to KenPom, and they’ve beaten Alabama recently, holding them 30 points under their scoring average. Rick Barnes has got this team to be extremely well coached, and while their offense can lag at times, this is an experienced group who knows how to play deep into the tournament. Their defensive pressure should cause fits for the SEC on their way to the title. — JP Acosta

Schedule, bracket and storylines for the SEC men's basketball tournament

The SEC boasts one of the top teams in the country (Alabama), one of the hottest teams in the country (Texas A&M), a team rich in tradition that’s finally getting its act together at the right time (Kentucky). They’ve also got a big scandal swirling around a key player (Brandon Miller at Alabama) and a couple bubble teams (Mississippi State and Auburn, notably) that are hoping for strong finishes.   

Put simply, this week could be one heck of a wild ride in the SEC. An Alabama win might lock up the No. 1 overall seed for the Tide in the NCAA Tournament, but a win by anyone else could give that team major momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. 

Also of note: This tournament is loaded with star power, which makes it that much more fun to watch. Arkansas in particular has some top-tier NBA talent, so don’t be surprised if the Razorbacks make a run.

SEC tournament favorites

Alabama is a natural choice here, given the talent of Brandon Miller in particular. There’s a reason the Tide have been previously named by the committee as the leader for the No. 1 overall seed and they lost just two league games all season. But Texas A&M finished a terrific regular season over the weekend, having gone a perfect 9-0 at home in SEC play. And we should never, ever count out Kentucky. Just a couple weeks ago, the Wildcats were a bubble team, and now they’re projected as anywhere from a 6-8 seed. 

SEC tournament top players

Brandon Miller, F, Alabama:  The conference’s player of the year (19.6 ppg, 8.0 rpg), his talent and athleticism will transfer immediately to the pros. 

Wade Taylor IV, G, Texas A&M: A high risk, high reward player, Taylor (16.3 ppg, 4.1 apg)  is talented enough to lead the Aggies to the conference tournament title. 

Anthony Black, G, Arkansas:  Projected as a lottery pick, this lean and lanky guard (12.8 ppg, 4.2 apg) has been improving all season. 

Oscar Tshiebwe, F, Kentucky: A solid scorer (16.4) and elite rebounder (13.1), the senior will be looking to  looking to make an impression in his final postseason and move up draft boards. 

Tolu Smith, F, Mississippi State: T he conference leader in field goal percentage (58.3%) he’s a go-to scorer (15.4 ppg, 8.3 rpg) who could single-handedly carry his team off the bubble. 

SEC tournament bubble storylines

Paging all Mississippi State fans. The Bulldogs, seeded No. 9, are currently part of the “last four in” discussion. But a deep run through the conference tournament would help ease everyone’s stress. Auburn is also technically a bubble team, though the Tigers’ win over Tennessee last week got them in the Big Dance (for now). Auburn’s potential quarterfinal game against Texas A&M is intriguing, especially if the Tigers can pull out a win.

SEC Basketball: 2023 SEC Tournament bracket, time, TV channel, full schedule

The 2022-23 SEC men’s basketball regular season is finally complete and now all 14 programs will make the trip to Nashville to participate in the 2023 SEC Tournament.

After a mostly dominating performance throughout the league play, the Alabama Crimson Tide , led by freshmen sensation Brandon Miller, will be the top overall seed in the tournament. Texas A&M , Kentucky, and Missouri round out the top four seeds that receive a double-bye in the tournament and will not play until the quarterfinals, which are set for Friday, March 10.

The tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, March 8 from inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Adatvédelmi és Adatkezelési Szabályzat

I. Bevezetés

1. A Sec-Tour Event Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság (székhely: 2509 Esztergom, Szalézi utca 13.; cégjegyzékszám: 11-09-024351 adószám: 25515422-2-11), mint adatkezelő (a továbbiakban: „ Adatkezelő ”) magára nézve kötelezőnek ismeri el jelen Adatvédelmi és Adatkezelési Szabályzatban (a továbbiakban: „ Szabályzat ”) tartalmát. Adatkezelő kijelenti, hogy az általa nyújtott szolgáltatással kapcsolatos adatkezelés megfelel a vonatkozó hazai jogszabályokban, továbbá az Európai Unió jogi aktusaiban meghatározott előírásoknak, valamint a jelen Szabályzatban foglalt rendelkezéseknek.

2. A Sec-Tour Event Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság elkötelezett ügyfelei személyes adatainak védelmében és kiemelkedően fontosnak tartja ügyfelei információs önrendelkezési jogának tiszteletben tartását. A Sec-Tour Event Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság a személyes adatokat bizalmasan kezeli, és megtesz minden olyan biztonsági, technikai és szervezési intézkedést, mely az adatok biztonságát garantálja.

3. Adatkezelő fenntartja magának a jogot a jelen Szabályzat megváltoztatására. A Szabályzat hatályos szövege a https://www.secure-trend.hu/ weboldalon (a továbbiakban: „ Honlap ”) folyamatosan elérhető.

II. Fogalmak, meghatározások

1. személyes adat: az érintettel kapcsolatba hozható adat – különösen az érintett neve, azonosító jele, valamint egy vagy több fizikai, fiziológiai, mentális, gazdasági, kulturális vagy szociális azonosságára jellemző ismeret -, valamint az adatból levonható, az érintettre vonatkozó következtetés;

2. hozzájárulás: az érintett akaratának önkéntes és határozott kinyilvánítása, amely megfelelő tájékoztatáson alapul, és amellyel félreérthetetlen beleegyezését adja a rá vonatkozó személyes adat – teljes körű vagy egyes műveletekre kiterjedő – kezeléséhez;

3. tiltakozás: az érintett nyilatkozata, amellyel személyes adatának kezelését kifogásolja, és az adatkezelés megszüntetését, illetve a kezelt adat törlését kéri;

4. adatkezelő: az a természetes vagy jogi személy, illetve jogi személyiséggel nem rendelkező szervezet, aki vagy amely önállóan vagy másokkal együtt az adatok kezelésének célját meghatározza, az adatkezelésre (beleértve a felhasznált eszközt) vonatkozó döntéseket meghozza és végrehajtja, vagy az adatfeldolgozóval végrehajtatja;

5. adatkezelés: az alkalmazott eljárástól függetlenül az adaton végzett bármely művelet vagy a műveletek összessége, így különösen gyűjtése, felvétele, rögzítése, rendszerezése, tárolása, megváltoztatása, felhasználása, lekérdezése, továbbítása, nyilvánosságra hozatala, összehangolása vagy összekapcsolása, zárolása, törlése és megsemmisítése, valamint az adatok további felhasználásának megakadályozása, fénykép-, hang- vagy képfelvétel készítése, valamint a személy azonosítására alkalmas fizikai jellemzők (pl. ujj- vagy tenyérnyomat, DNS-minta, íriszkép) rögzítése;

6. adattovábbítás: az adat meghatározott harmadik személy számára történő hozzáférhetővé tétele;

7. nyilvánosságra hozatal: az adat bárki számára történő hozzáférhetővé tétele;

8. adattörlés: az adat felismerhetetlenné tétele oly módon, hogy a helyreállítása többé nem lehetséges;

9. adatmegsemmisítés: az adatot tartalmazó adathordozó teljes fizikai megsemmisítése;

10. adatfeldolgozás: az adatkezelési műveletekhez kapcsolódó technikai feladatok elvégzése, függetlenül a műveletek végrehajtásához alkalmazott módszertől és eszköztől, valamint az alkalmazás helyétől, feltéve hogy a technikai feladatot az adatokon végzik;

11. adatfeldolgozó: az a természetes vagy jogi személy, illetve jogi személyiséggel nem rendelkező szervezet, aki vagy amely szerződés alapján – beleértve a jogszabály rendelkezése alapján kötött szerződést is – adatok feldolgozását végzi;

12. adatállomány: az egy nyilvántartásban kezelt adatok összessége;

13. harmadik személy: olyan természetes vagy jogi személy, illetve jogi személyiséggel nem rendelkező szervezet, aki vagy amely nem azonos az érintettel, az adatkezelővel vagy az adatfeldolgozóval;

14. adatvédelmi incidens: személyes adat jogellenes kezelése vagy feldolgozása, így különösen a jogosulatlan hozzáférés, megváltoztatás, továbbítás, nyilvánosságra hozatal, törlés vagy megsemmisítés, valamint a véletlen megsemmisülés vagy sérülés.

III. Az Adatkezelő adatai és elérhetőségei

IV. Az Adatkezelés jogalapja, célja és módja

1. Az adatkezelésre a Honlap felhasználóinak önkéntes, megfelelő tájékoztatáson alapuló nyilatkozata alapján kerül sor, amely nyilatkozat tartalmazza a felhasználók kifejezett hozzájárulását ahhoz, hogy az oldal használata során közölt személyes adataik felhasználásra kerüljenek. A felhasználók ezen hozzájárulásukat az adatkezelés bármely szakaszában visszavonhatják.

2. Az Adatkezelő célja, hogy a https://www.secure-trend.hu weboldalon keresztül informálja az érdeklődőket a szerveződő eseményről, bemutatva az a mögötte álló előadókat és támogatókat. Az érdeklődők elektronikus formában kaphatnak több információt az eseményről és annak részleteiről, továbbá az érdeklődőkkel való kapcsolattartás is elsősorban elektronikus úton történik. Mindezek érdekében az Adatkezelő olyan személyes adatokat gyűjt, tárol és kezel, amik a fenti cél megvalósításához elengedhetetlenül szükségesek.

3. Az Adatkezelő az adatkezelés minden szakaszában megfelel az adatkezelés céljának, az adatok felvétele és kezelése minden esetben a tisztességes és törvényes eljáráson alapul.

4. Az Adatkezelő a fenti adatkezelés során biztosítja az adatok pontosságát, teljességét és – ha az adatkezelés céljára tekintettel szükséges – naprakészségét, valamint azt, hogy az érintettet csak az adatkezelés céljához szükséges ideig lehessen azonosítani.

5. Adatkezelő kötelezi magát, hogy gondoskodik az adatok biztonságáról, megteszi továbbá azokat a technikai intézkedéseket, amelyek biztosítják, hogy a felvett, tárolt, illetve kezelt adatok védettek legyenek, illetőleg mindent megtesz annak érdekében, hogy megakadályozza azok megsemmisülését, jogosulatlan felhasználását és jogosulatlan megváltoztatását.

6. Az Adatkezelő a felhasználó által megadott személyes adatokat kizárólag a jelen Szabályzatban írt célra használhatja fel. Törvény eltérő rendelkezése hiányában a felhasználó által megadott személyes adatok harmadik személyek vagy a hatóságok számára történő kiadása kizárólag a felhasználó előzetes, kifejezett hozzájárulása esetén lehetséges.

7. Az Adatkezelő a felhasználó által megadott adatok helyességét nem ellenőrzi, az adatok megfelelőségéért az azokat megadó személy felel. A felhasználó az e-mail címének megadásával egyben felelősséget vállal azért, hogy az adott e-mail címről kizárólag ő veszi igénybe a Honlap szolgáltatásait. Mindezekre tekintettel egy adott e-mail címről történt esetleges belépéssel kapcsolatos valamennyi felelősség azt a felhasználót terheli, aki az adott e-mail címet megadta.

8. Az Adatkezelő adatkezelési alapelvei összhangban vannak az adatvédelemmel kapcsolatos hatályos jogszabályokkal, így különösen a z Európai Parlament és a Tanács (EU) 2016/679 rendelete (2016. április 27.) a természetes személyeknek a személyes adatok kezelése tekintetében történő védelméről és az ilyen adatok szabad áramlásáról, valamint a 95/46/EK rendelet hatályon kívül helyezéséről (Általános Adatvédelmi Rendelet) valamint az információs önrendelkezési jogról és az információszabadságról szóló 2011. évi CXII. törvény ( Infotv. ) és a Polgári Törvénykönyvről szóló 2013. V. törvény ( Ptk. ) rendelkezésivel.

9. Az adatkezelés jogalapja az Infotv.) 5.§ (1) bek. a) pontja szerint az érintett önkéntes hozzájárulása.

10.A felhasználó által megadott adatokat az Adatkezelő belső munkatársai jogosultak megismerni, az Adatkezelő az adatkezelése során adatfeldolgozót vagy harmadik személyt nem vesz igénybe.

V. A kezelt adatok köre, az adatkezelés időtartama

1. A Honlapon használata nem kötött regisztrációhoz. A felhasználónak a következő személyes adatokat szükséges az Adatkezelő rendelkezésére bocsátania az eseményre való regisztrálás során:

A Honlap alapjául szolgáló számítástechnikai rendszer működtetése során automatikusan rögzítésre kerülhetnek az alábbi adatok: a felhasználó bejelentkező számítógépének azon adatai, melyek a szolgáltatás igénybe vétele során generálódnak és melyeket az Adatkezelő rendszere a technikai folyamatok automatikus eredményeként rögzít. Az automatikusan rögzítésre kerülő adatokat a rendszer a felhasználó külön nyilatkozata vagy cselekménye nélkül a belépéskor, illetve kilépéskor automatikusan naplózza. Ezen adatok egyéb személyes felhasználói adatokkal – törvény által kötelezővé tett esetek kivételével – össze nem kapcsolhatók.

3. Az Adatkezelő a testre szabott kiszolgálás érdekében a felhasználó számítógépén kis adatcsomagot, ún. cookie-t helyezhet el. Az Adatkezelő technikai közreműködőként biztosíthatja, hogy a Honlap látogatása során az Adatkezelővel együttműködő harmadik személyek, különösen a Google Inc. cookie-k segítségével tárolják, ha a felhasználó korábban már látogatást tett az Adatkezelő honlapján és ez alapján hirdetést jeleníthetnek meg a felhasználónak. A cookie-t a felhasználó képes törölni saját számítógépéről, illetve beállíthatja böngészőjét, hogy a cookie-k alkalmazását tiltsa. Ezen túlmenően a Google biztosítja, hogy a felhasználó a Google által megjelenített hirdetések kikapcsolására szolgáló oldalon letilthatja a Google által elhelyezett cookie-kat.

4. A Honlapon megadott személyes adatokat az Adatkezelő azok törléséig kezeli. A személyes adatok törlésére a felhasználó kezdeményezésére bármikor sor kerülhet olyan módon, hogy felhasználó az Adatkezelő jelen Szabályzatban megjelölt elérhetőségei egyikén írásban (email, vagy postai küldemény) kezdeményezi azok törlését.

VI. Hírlevél és egyéb értesítések küldése

1. Az Adatkezelő kiemelt figyelmet fordít az általa kezelt elektronikus levélcímek jogszerű felhasználására, melyre tekintettel a felhasználó által megadott email címeket csak az alábbiakban meghatározottak szerint használja fel e-mail küldésére.

2. Az e-mail címek kezelése elsősorban felhasználok azonosítását, és a rendezvénnyel kapcsolatos információk eljuttatását szolgálják.

3. Az Adatkezelő az esemény elötti utolsó négy hétben rendszeresen hírlevélben értesítheti a felhasználókat, akik a hírlevél küldését kifejezetten kérték. A kiküldött hírlevelek tartalma a felhasználók által megadott adatoktól függetlenül mindig azonos. Felhasználó bármikor jogosult a hírlevélről leiratkozni a levél alján elhelyezett link segítségével.

VII. Az érintettek jogai, jogorvoslati lehetőségek

1. Az érintett kérelmezheti az Adatkezelőtől a rá vonatkozó személyes adatokhoz való hozzáférést, azok helyesbítését, törlését, egyes esetekben kérheti továbbá az adatok kezelésének korlátozását, és tiltakozhat a személyes adatok kezelése ellen. Az érintettet megilleti továbbá az adathordozhatósághoz és a felügyeleti hatósághoz történő panasz benyújtásához, valamint a jogorvoslathoz való jog, valamint az egyedi ügyekben alkalmazott automatizált döntéshozatal esetén a döntés hatályával kapcsolatos választás, valamint az emberi beavatkozás kérésének joga. Hozzájáruláson alapuló adatkezelés során az érintett jogosult továbbá a hozzájárulás bármely időpontban történő visszavonására, amely azonban nem érinti a visszavonás előtt a hozzájárulás alapján végrehajtott adatkezelés jogszerűségét.

1.1 A hozzáféréshez való jog

Az érintett bármikor jogosult felvilágosítást kérni arra vonatkozóan, hogy személyes adatait az Adatkezelő kezeli-e és miként, ideértve az adatkezelés céljait, a címzetteket, akikkel az adatait közölték, vagy a forrást, ahonnan az adatot az Adatkezelő megkapta, a megőrzési időtartamot, az adatkezeléssel kapcsolatos bármely jogát, A hozzáférés joga gyakorlása során az érintett arra is jogosult, hogy az adatok másolatát kérje, elektronikus úton benyújtott kérelem esetén – ellenkező érintetti kérés hiányában – az Adatkezelő a kért információkat elektronikusan bocsátja rendelkezésre. Amennyiben az érintett hozzáférési joga hátrányosan érinti mások jogait és szabadságait, így különösen mások üzleti titkait vagy szellemi tulajdonát, az Adatkezelő jogosult az érintett kérelmének teljesítését szükséges és arányos mértékben megtagadni.

1.2 A helyesbítéshez való jog

Az Adatkezelő az érintettre vonatkozó személyes adatokat annak kérésére helyesbíti vagy kiegészíti. Amennyiben kétség merül fel a helyesbített adat kapcsán, az Adatkezelő felhívhatja az érintettet, hogy a pontosított adatot megfelelő módon – elsősorban okirattal – bizonyítsa az Adatkezelő számára.

1.3 A törléshez való jog („az elfeledtetéshez való jog”)

Amennyiben az érintett valamely vagy az összes személyes adatának törlését kéri, az Adatkezelő az(oka)t indokolatlan késedelem nélkül törli, amennyiben:

· az Adatkezelőnek az adott személyes adatra már nincs szüksége abból a célból, amelyből azokat gyűjtötte vagy más módon kezelte;

· olyan adatkezelésről van szó, amely az érintett hozzájárulásán alapult, de a hozzájárulást az érintett visszavonta és az adatkezelésnek nincs más jogalapja;

· olyan adatkezelésről van szó, amely az Adatkezelő vagy harmadik személy jogos érdekén alapult, de az érintett tiltakozott az adatkezelés ellen, és – közvetlen üzletszerzés célú adatkezelés elleni tiltakozást kivéve – nincs elsőbbséget élvező jogszerű ok az adatkezelésre;

· jogi kötelezettség teljesítéséhez szükséges a személyes adatok törlése.

1.4 Az adatkezelés korlátozásához való jog

Az érintett személyes adatai kezelésének korlátozását kérheti az alábbi esetekben:

· az érintett vitatja a személyes adatok pontosságát – ez esetben a korlátozás arra az időtartamra vonatkozik, amely lehetővé teszi, hogy az adatkezelő ellenőrizze a személyes adatok pontosságát;

· az adatkezelés jogellenes, de az érintett ellenzi az adatok törlését, és ehelyett kéri azok felhasználásának korlátozását;

· az Adatkezelőnek már nincs szüksége a személyes adatokra adatkezelés céljából, de az érintett igényli azokat jogi igények előterjesztéséhez, érvényesítéséhez vagy védelméhez; vagy

· az érintett tiltakozott az adatkezelés ellen – ez esetben a korlátozás arra az időtartamra vonatkozik, amíg megállapításra nem kerül, hogy az Adatkezelő jogos indokai elsőbbséget élveznek-e az érintett jogos indokaival szemben.

Az adatkezelés korlátozása azt jelenti, hogy a korlátozással érintett személyes adatokat a tárolás kivételével az Adatkezelő nem kezeli, illetve csak abban a körben kezeli, amihez az érintett hozzájárult.

1.5 Az adathordozhatósághoz való jog

Az érintett jogosult kérni, hogy az Adatkezelő azokat a személyes adatait, amelyeket ő hozzájárulás alapján bocsátott az Adatkezelő rendelkezésére és az Adatkezelő automatizáltan (pl. számítógépes rendszerben) kezel, az érintett részére tagolt formátumban adja át, akár más adatkezelőnek való átadás céljából is, vagy hogy – amennyiben az technikailag megvalósítható – a kérésére közvetlenül egy másik, általa megjelölt adatkezelő részére továbbítsa. Abban az esetben, amennyiben az érintett adathordozhatósághoz való jogának gyakorlása hátrányosan érintené mások jogait és szabadságait, az Adatkezelő jogosult az érintett kérelmének teljesítését szükséges mértékben megtagadni. Az adathordozhatóság körében tett intézkedés nem jelenti az adatok törlését, csak akkor, ha egyidejűleg az érintett törlési kérelemmel is él, ennek hiányában tehát az adatokat az Adatkezelő mindaddig nyilvántartja, ameddig azok kezelésére céllal, illetve megfelelő jogalappal rendelkezik.

2. Ha az érintett úgy ítéli meg, hogy az Adatkezelő általi személyes adatainak kezelése megsérti a mindenkor hatályos adatvédelmi jogszabályok, így különösen az Általános Adatvédelmi Rendelet rendelkezéseit, jogában áll a Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóságnál („NAIH”) panaszt benyújtani.

3. Az érintettnek joga van más, így különösen a szokásos tartózkodási helye, munkahelye vagy a feltételezett jogsértés helye szerinti európai uniós tagállamban létrehozott, felügyeleti hatóságnál is panaszt tenni.

4. Az érintett – panasztételi jogától függetlenül – fenti jogsérelem esetén bírósághoz is fordulhat. Adatkezelő esetén az illetékes bíróság a Balassagyarmati Törvényszék, azonban az érintett a pert a lakóhelye szerinti törvényszék előtt is megindíthatja. Magyarországon a törvényszékek elérhetősége az alábbi linken található: https://birosag.hu/torvenyszekek . Az érintett továbbá a pert a szokásos tartózkodási helye szerinti tagállam hatáskörrel és illetékességgel rendelkező bírósága előtt is megindíthatja, amennyiben az érintett szokásos tartózkodási helye az Európai Unió más tagállamában van. Az érintett jogosult bírósághoz fordulni a felügyeleti hatóság rá vonatkozó, jogilag kötelező erejű döntésével szemben is.

Felgyorsult világunkban napi szinten találkozunk IT biztonsági incidensekkel, hallunk a médiából és a szakmából számtalan mennyiségben ezekről. Nem érezheti egy IT szakember sem eléggé biztonságba a cégét. Nincs más út mint folyamatosan tanulva figyelemmel kisérni a biztonsági piac alakulását. Fontos látni és tudni mindent a különböző biztonsági technológiákról, és persze tisztában lenni a hazai szolgáltatók kompetenciájával is. Ezt mind folyamatosan nyomon követni szinte lehetetlen feladat a napi munka mellett. Ezért van szükség olyan hazai IT biztonsági rendezvényekre, ahol egy időben egy helyen a legtöbb információ gyűjthető össze lehetőleg sallangmentesen.

Mi úgy gondoljuk, hogy ezeknek a rendezvényeknek nincsen szüksége ideológiákra, vagy nagyot mondó vezérfonalakra, egyszerűen a problémák és megoldásuk bemutatása kell, hogy legyen a fő cél.

A SEC-Tour Budapest célja kezdetektől fogva ugyan az maradt, egy asztalhoz ültetni az információbiztonság fejlesztéséért tenni vágyó IT és információbiztonsági vezetőket, valamint a szegmensben működő vállalkozásokat olyan környezetben, ahol a stratégiai és szakmai beszélgetéseken kívül a kapcsolatépítésé a főszerep.

Surging No. 14 Gators focus on defending 2023 SEC men’s golf title

G AINESVILLE — Florida golfer Jack Turner arrived to Mark Bostick Golf Course last Thursday at 7:30 a.m. ready to get jump on the postseason.

The fast-rising freshman from Orlando soon discovered he was playing catch-up.

“I was the third person here,” Turner told the Orlando Sentinel. “Last semester, I would have been the first.”

Teammates Ian Gilligan and Parker Bell were already hard at work.

The fear of falling behind has the Gators ahead of schedule entering this week’s SEC Championships in St. Simon’s Island, Ga., having won consecutive tournaments and 4 of 5 since a quiet fall.

A 2023-24 season expected to be a rebuild after UF swept the conference and national titles has instead come to epitomize coach JC Deacon’s vision for his program.

“The work ethic has been incredible,” Deacon told the Sentinel. “They’re all feeding off each other. It’s like little mini-competitions of who gets here first, who stays the latest and the culture is in a really special place right now.

“That means a lot to the guys.”

Turner, 19, has embraced the demands to evolve into one of the Gators’ top players, culminating with a third-place finish at the Calusa Cup April 9 in Naples. He will hold the third of five spots this week after he struggled to secure a place in the starting lineup.

“He’s obviously been a catalyst for this jump,” Deacon said.

Turner was a highly touted recruited who won the 2020 Florida 13-15 Junior Boys championship by 11 shots and later roomed with John Daly II at IJGA Bishops Gate golf academy in Howey-in-the-Hills.

Turner, like the Gators, started slowly in the fall and struggled to find a groove. Other than a victory at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, featuring sophomore stalwart Matt Kress’ first collegiate title, the Gators failed to contend during three other fall events.

“We didn’t have any experience, we were young and hadn’t really played at this level,” Deacon said. “We got our tails whipped in the fall.”

Rather than become discouraged, the Gators dug in.

Gilligan, a junior who transferred from Long Beach State, set the tone while inspiring his teammates.

“He kind of showed me in the first semester what hard work really is,” Turner said. “I followed in those footsteps and started working way harder than I ever had before. That’s sort of motivated a lot of the guys in this team.”

More options and tough decisions for Deacon were the byproducts.

Fifth-year senior John DuBois, a clutch performer for last season’s squad, and Ryan Hart, a junior who was the alternate at the 2023 SECs and NCAAs, are among several players now on the outside looking in.

Meanwhile, Turner and Bell, a sophomore from Tallahassee, ascended; Gilligan seized the No. 1 spot; and senior Tyler Wilkes returned to his 2022 form when he was a lineup fixture.

“This is the most depth I’ve ever had, and it’s not even close,” Deacon said. “It’s been a tough thing because a lot of guys are just missing out on opportunities, but it’s been a great thing for our team. It’s one of the reasons why we’ve gone like this year because they’ve just had to work at it and had to get better every day.

“They know if they didn’t have someone right there to take their spot.”

Kress, the sole holdover from last season’s championship-winning lineup, has remained rock solid and holds the No. 2 spot this week.

The 21-year-old from Saratoga, Calif., realized those outside the program expected the Gators to take a step back. Kress also knew what he saw each day at the course.

“I don’t know if you can really control when you can play your best golf the right time because that’s not really how sports work,” he said. “You can only control what you put into it. We have been putting in the right inputs for a long time and over the long run you’re going to see the right results.”

Favorable outcomes this week and beyond will require the Gators elevate their games.

Deacon’s 14th-ranked squad sits behind six SEC teams, No. 1 Auburn, No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 5 Ole Miss, No. 7 Tennessee, No. 10 Alabama and No. 12 Arkansas.

Galleries and TV cameras also will be on hand as Florida pushes to defend its title.

“I’ve just tried to tell some of the guys who maybe don’t have the experience how it’s a lot different than other tournaments,” Kress said. “When the cameras come out and when people come out, it just gets a lot different. You’ve never made a 4-footer to advance your team to the SEC championship.

“When you get in that moment you need to tell yourself, ‘I’ve hit this shot 1,000 times and I’ve pulled it off 1,000 times, what’s one more?'”

The 2023 Gators, led by veterans Fred Biondi, Ricky Castillo and Yuxin Lin, were built for those moments. But Turner is confident he and his teammates will themselves be ready.

“We’re all great players here,” he said. “We might not have the notoriety of the three last year, but I know once we’re all done here, we’re going to. The guys we have in this team and the work we put in, we’re not afraid of anyone.

“You never know what’s going to happen.”

In casual settings, SEC representatives share with counselors the academic offerings and opportunities available for students at each SEC university.

During the 2023 Fall SEC College Tour, school counselors are invited to join SEC officials for programs designed to equip them with a variety of facts about the Southeastern Conference and its 14 member universities.
