SIX the Musical UK Tour
About this show.
From the West End to Broadway, the international smash hit musical Six is on its UK tour in 2023-2024!
Six the musical is a Double Tony Award winner for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Costume Design’, and winner of the WhatsOnStage Award for ‘Best West End Show’ (2022 and 2023)
Embarking on its UK tour, Six the musical tells the history of Henry VIII’s wives in a way audiences haven’t seen before. From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red.
Six the musical is a sell-out Tudor take-off with ‘an incredibly strong and powerful message’ (The Australian) and is ‘pure entertainment’ (New York Times), with a Gold-Disk winning album featuring songs such as Don’t Lose Ur Head and Ex-Wives.

SIX announces new cast for UK Tour 2023/24
March 9, 2023 Last updated: May 2, 2023 10:44 pm By Admin
The multi-award-winning musical SIX, written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, today announces a new cast for the UK tour. The current company will play their final performance on Sunday 23 April with the new company taking over from Tuesday 25 April 2023. The new touring Queens will be played by Nicole Louise Lewis (Catherine of Aragon), Laura Dawn Pyatt (Anne Boleyn), Erin Caldwell (Jane Seymour), Kenedy Small (Anna of Cleves), Lou Henry (Katherine Howard) and Aoife Haakenson (Catherine Parr). Izi Maxwell, Tamara Morgan and Ellie Jane Grant will be joining the cast as Alternates, with Super Swing / Dance Captain Shakira Simpson. The cast are backed by the show’s all-female band, The Ladies in Waiting.
Since its early days as a student production in a 100-seat room at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the show has fast become a global musical phenomenon. On the international stage, SIX currently has productions playing on Broadway at the Lena Horne Theatre and two concurrent North American tours, including a seven-week run in Las Vegas, with further stagings announced in Canada and Holland this autumn. SIX opens in Seoul, South Korea on 17 March and recently completed an Australian tour. Back on home turf, the London production continues its reign in the West End at the Vaudeville Theatre (its third royal residence) and the UK and Ireland tour continues to break Box Office records. The UK tour is now booking through to 2024.
Winner of 26 major international awards including the 2022 Tony Award for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Costume Design’ on Broadway, double Whatsonstage Award winner for ‘Best West End Show’ 2022 & 2023, and the 2020 BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for ‘Best Musical’, SIX was also nominated for five Olivier awards, including ‘Best New Musical’. Celebrating the global success of its songs with over 500 million streams and over three billion views on TikTok, the original studio album of SIX officially turned Gold in 2021, with the Broadway album ‘SIX – Live on Opening Night’ nominated for a Grammy Award.
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX is co-directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, featuring choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille. The design team includes Emma Bailey (Set Design), Gabriella Slade (Costume Design), Tim Deiling (Lighting Design) and Paul Gatehouse (Sound Design). The score features orchestrations by Tom Curran with music supervision and vocal arrangements by Joe Beighton. Musical Director Caitlin Morgan and Associate UK Musical Supervisor Lauren Hopkinson. Casting is by Pearson Casting. SIX is produced by Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes and George Stiles.

WHAT IS SIX THE MUSICAL ABOUT?
Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived.
All this time They’ve been just one word in a stupid rhyme So they picked up a pen and a microphone History’s about to get overthrown.
From Tudor queens to pop princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII finally take the mic to tell their tales, remixing five hundred years of her-storical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of sisterly sass-itude. Powered by an all-female band and with songs including Ex-Wives, Haus of Holbein and Don’t Lose Ur Head.
The modern retelling of King Henry VIII's six wives turned divas had its humble beginnings in 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was presented by history-loving Cambridge students. The concept of the show was born in a poetry class. As research for the show, Marlow read Antonia Fraser ‘s “The Six Wives of Henry VIII” whilst Moss watched Lucy Worsley ‘s documentary series Six Wives.
Since making its professional debut, the musical has crossed the pond to Broadway. The West End production has been nominated for 5 Laurence Olivier Awards, including Best Musical, whilst the Broadway production was nominated for two Drama League Awards.
Now the phenomenal SIX is ready to embark on its first UK tour bringing this piece of uplifting musical theatre to a venue near you…
Divorced. Beheaded. LIVE in concert!

You Me At Six: all the details on the band's farewell tour after news they are to split

Rock band You Me at Six have announced they are splitting up, but only after a final farewell tour which will end in 2025.
The Surrey group, led by frontman Josh Franceschi, yesterday revealed they are calling it a day in an Instagram post which featured them somberly walking through a cemetery.
The statement reads: "This is the end. Thank you for being the heartbeat of this band."
In a voiceover Franceschi says: “Time. Something we never have enough of but always need more of. Sometimes it goes by slowly. Sometimes it goes by fast. Some things are over quickly and some were built to last.
“Twenty years in the making, beyond our wildest dreams. Trips around the sun, we’ve lost count, one more for memories. People love stories with endings, page after page, year after year. We’ll give you a final chapter, because we’ve climbed our Everest , we’ve faced our fears.”
Looking down at a grave he reads from a book and adds: “It’s time. Time for the finish line, it’s time for goodbye.”
Fans have left comments beneath the post announcing their dismay, with one saying, "My heart's broken."
However, the final hurrah is yet to come, as the band announced plans to tour in 2024 and 2025, they will also be a headliner at this years Slam Dunk Festival in May.
Here's everything we know about what the band will be up to before they part ways next year:

Heartwarming footage captures a little girl running into the arms of a pretzel peddler who parks his cart outside her New York City school and giving him a bear hug after being on vacation for a week.
The child can be seen rushing down the sidewalk toward the street worker, who is standing next to his food cart. He then bends down to return her tight hug.
The cart vendor smiles at the girl’s mom as she records the encounter, which she shared online, noting her daughter’s excitement at seeing the local “pretzel man” after she’d been on vacation and “missing him for a week.
“The sweetest pretzel man: he parks his cart outside of my daughter’s school and she loves giving him high fives when she walks by,” her mom wrote in the caption of the video.
“She was on vacation for a week and missed him. When I picked her up from school today, she literally ran into his arms,” the mom added.
The viral video , posted to TikTok last week by BasicallySoho, a New York City mom who owns a luxury baby sleepwear brand by the same name, quickly gained more than 2 million views.
The sweet post received hundreds of comments from fellow New Yorkers, many expressing that they also share a special bond with their neighborhood food stand vendor.
“I got emotional when I had to say goodbye to my coffee cart man when I moved from NYC. They become stitches in the fabric of your daily life,” one person wrote.
Another chimed in, “This is exactly how I think New York kids grow up. Favorite vendor since childhood, same bodega spot so cute.”
BasicallySoho did not immediately return a Post request for comment Sunday.

Yuto Katsuragawa set his sights on a place on the PGA Tour after claiming a home win at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan.
The world No 434 started the week largely unknown outside of his homeland and it looked like it would stay that was as he entered the final round three shots off the lead among players with winning pedigree on the DP World Tour.
But he found himself in a share of top spot around the turn after picking up two shots on the front nine as the leaders faltered and five birdies in seven holes from the 10th sent him soaring to victory.
A closing 63 moved him to 17 under, three shots clear of Swede Sebastian Soderberg, and he indicated in the wake of his victory that he would now take up the DP World Tour membership available to him via his win.

Northern Ireland's Tom McKibbin finished six shots off the lead after a closing 65 that started with five consecutive birdies.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Grace Kim stumbled to a 5-over 76 on Saturday in the LPGA Tour’s JM Eagle LA Championship — and still held onto a share of the lead.
It was that kind of a day at Wilshire Country Club, the tree-lined layout made difficult by bumpy poa annua greens and tricky wind conditions.
“It’s tough for everyone today,” Kim said. “It was just one of those days. It’s just golf.”
Four strokes ahead entering the day after rounds of 64 and 66, Kim was tied with fellow Australian Hannah Green, the defending champion who saved par with a 12-footer on the par-3 18th for a 70. They were at 7-under 206.
“The putt that I made on 18 almost felt like I birdie,” Green said.
Maja Stark, playing alongside Kim in the final group, bogeyed the 18th for a 73.
“You know that you can’t take every missed putt too personally because that’s going to happen for everyone,” Stark said.
The Swede was a stroke back with Jin Hee Im, the South Korean player who had a back-nine 30 in a 63 for the best round of the day, and Germany’s Esther Henseleit (71). Nasa Hataoka of Japan was 5 under after a 64.
Kim bogeyed the par-5 second hole and had a double bogey on the par-3 fourth. She also dropped shots on the par-4 10th and 16th holes.
“I tried to stay in the present of just the next shot, giving myself good chances,” said the 23-year-old Kim, The LOTTE Championship last year in Hawaii for her first LPGA Tour title. “I know I had a few three-putts in there, but just keeping my head in the game and not losing that shot focus.”
The 27-year-old Green rebounded from a 2-foot par miss on the par-4 17th with the par save on 18. After bogeying three of the last six holes on the front nine, she played a four-hole stretch on the back nine in 4 under. She eagled the par-5 13th and birdied 14 and 16, then missed the short putt on 17.
“I didn’t really have many full swings. Had a lot of half-shots in,” said Green, the winner in Singapore early last month for her fourth LPGA Tour title. “With the greens firming up and getting bouncy it kind of made it hard to completely trust that shot.”
Stark finished second last week outside Houston in The Chevron Championship, two strokes behind top-ranked Nelly Korda in the first major of the year. Korda withdrew Monday, a day after her record-tying fifth straight victory.

Orange crush: Boats packed with revelers tour Amsterdam canals to celebrate the king's birthday
AMSTERDAM — Decked in the national orange color, dancing to music, and eating orange-glazed pastries, many in the Netherlands Saturday are marking King's Day , celebrating the birthday of their monarch who is enjoying a very slight rise in popularity as per a national poll.
As King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 57th birthday with his family in the northeastern city of Emmen, people across the country engaged in the traditional “free markets” held on that day, selling second-hand toys, books and other items. Others toured through the historic canals of the capital, Amsterdam as orange smoke from flares held aloft one boat drifted over vessels of all shapes and sizes jostling for space on a busy canal.
“Celebrating your birthday with your own family is the most beautiful thing you can experience. I’m very happy everybody is back,” Willem-Alexander told Dutch broadcaster NOS during a walkabout in Emmen, 190 kilometers (120 miles) northeast of the Dutch capital.
An annual poll published by the NOS for King’s Day showed Willem-Alexander’s popularity edging up very slightly since last year to 6.6 out of 10. His Argentine-born wife, Queen Maxima, scored 7.1 out of 10 in the poll of 1,015 people, conducted earlier this month.
The royals’ popularity took a hit during the COVID-19 pandemic after Willem-Alexander and his family went on vacation in Greece during a partial lockdown. The royals cut short their break amid national uproar and Willem-Alexander took the unusual step of issuing a video message to express his regret and contrition for the trip.
The king’s three daughters, Amalia, Alexia and Ariane have all spent time out of the country recently — Ariane has been studying in Italy while Alexia has taken a gap year to travel. The eldest and heir to the Dutch throne, Amalia, also returned ahead of the king’s birthday after being forced to leave her student accommodation in Amsterdam and move to Madrid following threats from the criminal underworld.
Amalia, 20, who is studying politics, psychology, law and economics at Amsterdam University, told NOS she was “extremely grateful to everybody who made it possible” for her to live in Spain, where she said she was able to enjoy more freedom than in the Netherlands.
But, she added: “I’m glad to be back.”
