Tequila Beach

TEQUILA BEACH in Cozumel

Located in the most beautiful part of the island. The color of the turquoise blue sea is unique and unmatched in this area. Likewise, the white sand gives an incredible glow into the atmosphere that at moments it hurts our eyes. It’s the place where you can rest enjoying a beer, jump in our water toys or swim in this sea that looks like an infinity pool.

The restaurant in our picturesque palapa is also for demanding tastes and you can choose from typical dishes of the region to an extensive variety of seafood and drinks so that the experience is one hundred percent unique and unforgettable.

The Best Tequila Tours to Take in Tequila, Mexico

Agave

The charming, rustic town that lends its name to Mexico’s national drink has become a major tourist destination in the past decade. Tequila was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006 and boasts a range of historic distilleries. Most of these are open to visitors, and we would highly recommend taking a guided tour if you visit the picturesque town.

Jose cuervo express.

The most famous tequila tour is without a doubt the Jose Cuervo Express , which leaves every Saturday at 9.00 or 9.30 a.m. from Guadalajara. After a scenic, hour-long trip in a mock-19th-century railcar, guests are welcomed at Jose Cuervo’s La Rojeña Distillery , which is the oldest in Latin America. Visitors are guided from the brick ovens where the agave is cooked right up to the oak barrels of the aging cellars. They are also given plenty of tequila shots along the way.

Experience Tequila

Cofradía turistico 360.

The hands-on tours offered by Hacienda La Cofradía are particularly memorable, giving guests the opportunity to explore the distillery, watch and learn from a jimador – or tequila farmer – and even unleash your creative side by decorating your own bottle in the ceramics factory. The hacienda also boasts a unique boutique hotel, Matices de Barricas, which has spacious rooms shaped like the oak barrels used to age tequila.

Matices de Barricas

Tequila Adventure

If downing tequila shots is not enough of a thrill, Tequila Adventure offers more action-packed activities. For under 800 pesos ($44), you can arrange to rappel down a waterfall or ride a horse through an agave field . The company also offers a guided tour of Los Azules Waterfall, a tour of the Rubio Distillery and a workshop where you make your own agave paper. An excellent option for visitors looking for something a little more unique and unusual.

Tour Tequila Orendain

For travelers on a budget, the Casa Orendain tequila company offers a tour of their distillery La Mexicana for only 195 pesos ($10.40). Less well-known than Jose Cuervo, Orendain is a family-owned Tequila group that was founded in 1926. The company now produces 10 different brands of tequila, and has collected various awards at international events. The tour provides a close-up look at Casa Orendain’s production process, as well as an opportunity to sample freshly distilled tequila, cooked agave and a few aged tequila shots.

Has anyone used Tequila Beach Tours?

Has anyone used this company? Their website is www.tequilabeachtours.com

They have the best prices for all-inclusive at Tequila Beach that I've found:

$ 28 Captain's Pass - Open bar all day, Mexican snacks, showers, lockers, chairs, towels) or

$ 40 Admiral's Pass - all of the afore-mentioned, plus full menu (including lobster in season)

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them.

Also, for clear water without beach grass or turtle grass, which is best... Tequila Beach or Pez Quadro?

I havent, but that $40 open bar with lobster seems to good to be true

It looks good..there are discounted prices---

but the lobster is 52 discounted.....

However, the snacks and booze is only 28 which seems very reasonable!

I may book it

cruising_with_family

We went to Tequila Beach in March 2007...wrong choice for a family w/ children!! The OPEN BAR and cheap price should have given us a clue...the place was mobbed with drunk spring breakers...they were dancing on the bar, doing shots from each others navel {while laid out on the bar}, falling all over whoever was within range! We could not get food, drinks, service, etc. After threatening the mgmnt and storming the kitchen, we were able to get some food...but what a fiasco. The place actually ran out of liquor and beer....the little guzzlers drank it dry!!! Probably great for the wild college crowd ;would not recommend for families w/ children.

Wow! Thanks for that last post.....we're looking for a nice beach spot in Costa Maya, but we'll be cruising during Spring Break w/our 11 year old daughter, so obviously this isn't the spot for us.

Thanks again.

We just spent the day at Tequila Beach last Thursday. We just took a taxi there for 3.00 each way and they had a special for 20.00, open bar. It was a preset menu of drinks and mexican snacks. They were so nice and friendly, We rented Jet skis for 40.00 for a half hr. It was very quiet no rowdy crowds. :)

  • 3 weeks later...

pyropatty

Skip the Tequila Beach resort - we had horrible service there last week and the place was overrun by Spring-breakers who were over-served (some were getting 10-12 shots of tequila in 15 minutes). The place was rowdy and those who made reservations in advance were ignored for most of the day. I wish I had known from the op who went there in March of 2007.

It is definitely not a good place for people with young kids, or anyone who wants to enjoy the sand and the water and not watch people vomiting on the beach.

I've sent Tequila Beach a complaint, but haven't heard back.

Wow Pyropatty... thanks for the heads-up!

We just returned from our Westerdam cruise. We went to Tequilla Beach. When we got there we pd 20.00 each for snacks and drinks all day. We had the best salsa ever, we drank Toucans and tequilla, very good.

The beach is not that nice. We each parasailed for 55.00 each, they ride you out on waverunners to the boat to parasail, it was fun.

They closed up at 4, which we thought was odd, our ship did not leave until 6:30. We just moved our party elsewhere, we had lots of fun.

blue water dude

Most of the places that do the all inclusive tend to attract the younger drinking crowd. If you don't want to deal with drunks, don't go to a place that offers "all you can drink". They go together. But there are lots of places along the downtown Malecon beachfront that have beach seating and nice water in front. Just take a taxi into town and take your pick. The places south of town do have lots of sea grass to deal with close to shore. Downtown beach is clear of all that. The beach is about the same at Pez Quatro and Tequila Beach Club. Try the Delphin for sea food, Tapas Bar for snacks and the Tropicante for the best menu and cleanest place. All have beach front. Unless you drink until you drop, the $ will end up about the same. Beers are $2, drinks are $4 or $5 and nachos $6. There is a pretty good day sail out of Tequila Beach club though if that intersts you. Gary and Larry are their names and they do a pretty good job. I think you have to book it from Tequila though.

Hootiehoo10

My day at the beach was very up and down. My group of 6 purchased passes from Cosata Maya tours ( OTTO & Johann ) we bought the adm. pass to include everything and were meet at the door by Eid-u their rep. we were shown to the beach and got great seats and lounge chairs meet our server got drinks and a menu. This lasted about a hour then Tequila beach (not owned or operated by Costa Maya Tours ) found out that our ship had 40% spring breakers and ran a $20 day special for all you can drink and use the beach. This started the down fall of our day, we had to stand by our chairs or someome would try to take them. as for getting a drink or food it took hours. WE finnaly found our rep. and she was able to fix the problems with the food (the lobester was good as were the appetizers ) getting drinks was still a problem. AS for the beach it was OK but still under repairs fom the last storm. I would not recommend Tequila Beach to any family or group of Adults during spring break. Costa Maya Tours did talk to me personally on my return home (talked to OTTO himself) and they made it right. I would use them again in the future

Have fun on your cruise as did we HOOTIE HOO

Just back from our cruise on the Independence which stopped in Costa Maya....we booked snorkling and waverunners through tequila beach dot com....both excursions were great....snorkling was just my family of four....we rented six waverunners with another family that we were with and had a blast....the beach was crowded and the music was loud which turned us off....some other friends booked waverunners through another web site that I don't recall off hand and they were not as happy as we were....during spring break beach and club house not a place for younger kids, go further down away from tequila beach

  • 4 months later...

Has anyone done Tequilla Beach since spring break ? We are thinking of going there because 2 of our group of 6 want to parasail. We thought it would be better to just go to one place. 4 of us will eat drink and swim :Dwhile the other 2 parasail. Then when they come back they can catch up to us.

Also, do they have horseback riding??

One thought on “ Costa Maya Scuba Diving ”

Hi. (tequilabeachtours.com/costa-maya-scuba-diving)

My family of 4 (myself, my wife, and 2 adult children) are coming to Costa Maya on NCL Breakaway ship on Fri., 2022 Jan. 14, in port 7am-2pm. Need to get back to ship by 1:30pm.

Are your staff all fully vaccinated? My family are all fully vaccinated.

Can you please let us know the cost for 3 of us (my 2 adults children and I, all AOW & Nitrox certified) for 2-tank diving, with gear rentals (we’ll have own fin/mask/snorkel/wetsuits)

Would the site be suitable for my wife as a snorkeler? If not, my wife can stay at beach and wait for us.

Best Places To Stay In Jalisco

The state of Jalisco has so much variety with a lot to offer. Everything from beach towns, mountains, forests, jungles, big cities, small towns and pueblo mágicos.

Here are the best places to stay in Jalisco – covering the variety of experiences this beautiful state can give you.

📍 GUADALAJARA: The third largest metropolitan area in Mexico, Guadalajara (GDL) is a big city but much slower paced than Mexico City. GDL has a ton of cool bars, clubs, restaurants and malls. I’ll be completely honest, I enjoy Mexico City a lot more than GDL. However, I still think it’s a cool place to visit and there are a ton of cool areas near GDL for day trips or weekend getaways.

image of vibrant street with colorful flags in Tlaquepaque

It’s also a great destination for bachelorette/bachelor parties or just any group trip. They have trendy restaurants that are great for big groups, fancy clubs, beach clubs, a ton of bars, excursions, resorts, Airbnbs and other smaller towns to visit nearby.

I normally don’t like super touristy towns but PV still feels quite local and traditional to me. The Old Town known as “Zona Romantica” is really charming with its cobblestone streets and beautiful architecture.

➡️ Vallarta Shores Beach Hotel

📍 SAYULITA: As mentioned above, PV is a great hub to get to other smaller towns such as Sayulita. This once sleepy little surf town with mostly local travelers has now become a popular destination for foreigners. I’ll be honest, I miss what it was before. But nonetheless, it’s now a fun place to go with a lot of bars, restaurants and boutique shops.

image of street in the main square in Sayulita

The best way to get to Sayulita is by flying into Puerto Vallarta. The town is about an hour and 15 minutes drive from PV.

image of me on the beach in Sayulita

Pro tip: if you’re looking for a chiller vibe go to San Pancho which is a smaller beach town just 15 minutes away.

➡️ Ximena Hotel Boutique

📍 AJIJIC: You could definitely stay a weekend or a few days in Ajijic but this could also be done as a day trip coming from Guadalajara. This lakeside gem is located an hour away (by driving) from GDL along the shores of the largest lake in Mexico, Lake Chapala. Charming streets, laid-back vibes and beautiful lakeside views make Ajijic a perfect weekend getaway.

image of AJIJIC sign by Lake Chapala

➡️ Casa del Sol Inn

📍 MAZAMITLA: This mountain town Pueblo Mágico is the perfect nature escape. Spend your days in cozy mountain cabins, going on hikes during the day, and just enjoying nature all around you. I stayed at an amazing bubble glamping resort that was such a unique experience. Check out the link below!

I rode 2.5 hours on the back of a motorcycle to Mazamitla from Guadalajara (would not recommend it – too long for me on a motorcycle). If you take a car it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours unless you’re going around traffic hours.

➡️ La Estela Bub ble Glamping

image of bubble glamping in the mountains in Mazamitla

📍 SAN SEBASTIÁN DEL OESTE: Nestled in the Sierra Madre mountains, San Sebastián del Oeste is a quaint colonial pueblo mágico that makes you feel like you’ve taken a journey back in time.

The best way to get to San Sebastian del Oeste is flying into Puerto Vallarta and the drive from there should be less than 2 hours.

➡️ Villa Nogal Hotel Boutique & Vista

Tequila, Jalisco: FAQs

Aside from tequila tours in Jalisco, let’s dive into some common questions about Tequila and Jalisco below.

Is Tequila a city in Mexico?

Tequila is a charming pueblo mágico (magic town) in Jalisco, Mexico. As you can see, they obviously have the best tequila tours in Jalisco being that it is known to be the birthplace of tequila.

image of me walking down a colorful street in Tequila

Is Tequila, Jalisco worth visiting?

Tequila is definitely worth visiting! Indulge in the breathtaking views of agave fields, go on a tequila tour, visit distilleries, try some local food, and enjoy the quaint cobblestone streets in this magical town.

image of guacamole, salsa and limes at a restaurant in Tequila

Where is the swing in Tequila, Jalisco?

The extreme swing is located just 10 minutes outside the town of Tequila.

What is the best month to go to Jalisco?

It really depends on where in Jalisco you plan to go and what you want to experience considering that Jalisco has beaches, mountains, big cities, and small towns. Generally speaking, the rainy season is around June to October. However, I’ve definitely been to Jalisco during this time without it raining but the summer months are really hot so for that reason, I would avoid it. It’s safe to say you’d be good to go around November to May.

Is it safe to travel to Jalisco, Mexico right now?

I’ve traveled to Jalisco several times by myself and I’ve generally felt safe. Is there cartel activity there? Yes. But I’ve traveled all of Mexico solo and with friends and I haven’t had any major issues. I feel like if you aren’t around certain situations or cause any trouble you should be fine.

Just like anywhere else in the world, practice safe measures and always be aware of your surroundings. (Don’t walk alone at night if the area is quite desolate, don’t flash your money or expensive things around, carry only what you need for the day, etc.)
