Good Set & Forget Ad Blocker

Clean, simple, and easy to understand. I use on my Mac as well as my iOS devices. Great Apple citizen. Recent updates have made this much easier to use via the built in system controls. Also a big handy feature for me is the ability to quickly, permanently block elements on a webpage just by selecting them, great for navigating poorly designed websites with elements that cover others especially on mobile. However 4 out of 5 times when a website won't work or load it's because this is blocking some linked script or tracking redirect, which is sometimes annoying, especially when you have to do it several times every time such a link is clicked, but the app is just doing its job of blocking sketchy connections that I don't want and that's more a fault of the web at large.

Some annoying bugs, please fix!

This app appears to do a great job and what it sets out to do, but there is an annoying bug that renders this quite frustrating on a fresh boot: when this app is set to open at login, it does NOT honor the "hide" setting checkbox under System Preferences --> Users and Groups --> Current User --> Login Items --> "hide" checkbox next to AdGuard for Safari. Normally, when the system is rebooted and this box is checked, the app can launch, but without the application window opening in front of the user. Please fix this, so that the app can launch at login without popping up its preferences window each time! Finally, as a feature request, please support Catalina auto dark mode, and please allow for iCloud-based settings syncing... thanks!

BEST Ad Blocker for Mojave

After upgrading to Mojave, I found Safari has completely changed its mechanism of extensions. All of my ad block plug-ins now only function in very limited manners (no filter setting, no element inspections etc.). And I feel particularly annoyed -- I browse Chinese websites frequently, yet almost all ad blockers would never succeed in removing ads in foreign languages unless you set up filters manually. Yet as I said before, all most all ad blockers under Mojave are too succinct to offer such advanced features. Thankfully, I finally found this lovely, amazing, elegant, useful, powerful AdGuard. The pre-installed language-specific filer lists are totally incredible. To Mojave users, if you're reading this review, pls stop searching for other ad blockers. AdGuard is THE BEST!

Best Ads, "corn", and app blocker out there!

This is not only the best ad blocker available, but it also has DNS protection capabilities that allow it to block "corn" content and act as an app blocker (not sure when they added it, props), making it an excellent all-around utility! It help you to stop with annoyng ads

I've been a Premium user for over a year, I've installed it on 3 computers and 2 android phones including the browser extension. It made my browsing much safer by avoiding many pop-ups and annoying ads. It only rarely gave me browsing problems, but it's very easy to turn it off for specific sites. If you are an expert you can configure it with many filter options, if you want to use it without wasting time, the basic configuration is perfect for most sites. Really recommended.

Been using it for just over 1 year and its perfect!

This extention has never let me down and I can just visit websites in peace without being bombareded by ads! You can even watch youtube with no ads which is a mircal seeing as there like 5 on each video. Highly recommend this FREE extention to EVERYONE, you won't even know it's there if you don't pin it.

Okay software, but customer service are thieves.

The software (when it works) is okay. But when I had to rubuild my PC, after ransomware, hell began. The software said I had used up my allotted number of licenses, so I had to buy a new license. But I bought a lifetime license! Yet support was so paranoid and unhelpful, it was severely unpleasant dealing with them. They treated me like a thief trying to steal from them. I provided my license code and registration name. But they blankly did not trust that I was honest and demanded more and more proof each day. This went on for weeks and I finally demanded my money back. They replied sorry, we can't give you that because you purchased from a third party vendor! Implicitly telling me: We do not trust you. You are a thief! This is outrageous customer treatment. I am not out to attack their software, because it does what it promises. Very well so. But the company is a bunch of thieves.

On the update channel I clicked…

On the update channel I clicked Nightly(frequently updated unstable. and am now using Adguard 713 nightly 12. Then I enabled the DNS protection and checked Adguard DNS -over-QUIC. I went to the website to check on Adguard DNS test page and I am using Default Adguard DNS - over QUIC. It works well now on both Firefox and Edge Browser except it takes Edge Browser 15 to 20 seconds to open. Firefox opens immediately. This is just my experience. Quick and no problems today

Adguard is not perfect but it's probably not possible, but it's a life saver. It definitely saves you from serious amounts of advertising. Especially in not paid for versions of some software. Exceptional Ad Blocking with Adguard

I've been using Adguard for a while now and I must say, it's fantastic. Adguard's ability to block ads on websites and in apps is exceptional. While it works well with most apps, there are some, like IMDB, where blocking ads can cause the app to malfunction. Without Adguard, don't waste your time...

Without Adguard I wouldn't bother trying to even read online news. I borrowed a friends Android recently that did not have Adguard and after a couple minutes I gave up. 75% ads. Adguard makes reading online content possible.

Adguard makes computer use less distracting

Adguard has become fundamental in making my usage on my mac computer less distracting, and less frustrating. I use several different web browsers and popup blockers and just these alone isn't enough to cut through the distractions on websites such as banner ads, social media buttons that I have no use for and distracting elements that are just a nuisance to look at. I don't even use the chat feature on youtube for instance and this can block those little annoyances. It's truly a great product.

DO NOT BUY ADGUARD until they sort out their DNS issue, it is on an endless loop of connecting and disconnecting! It stops all Internet traffic, this bug has been around for a year and they haven't even bothered to fix this. Avoid paying them a dime

Avoid paying them a dime. Frequently the dns becomes unresponsive and will stay that way for days. It’s most often just horribly slow. I regret buying an annual subscription. Customer service won’t do any troubleshooting and refers to their EULA when you ask for a refund as the service is so bad. Awful.

I changed devices

I changed devices, and my new device wasn't recognised by the licence key. AdGuard by email were very helpful, and despite me being very ''Un tech'', I managed to get it to accept new device. AdGuard really is good..The Internet is unusable without a good Adblocker.

Blocks Ads AND All Internet Traffic

Blocks Ads AND All Internet Traffic. It works perfectly fine in the first month trial, then once you purchase a premium lifetime key then it starts to hang up and lag and I just leave it off unless I know I am going to open an app with a bunch of ads. Completely useless since it blocks all internet traffic randomly, even chats and without warning so if you have Adguard installed and on, you don't even know if you're internet is blocked due to Adguard and you're missing important messages.

AdGuard DNS v2.7: DNS-over-HTTPS with authentication and more

We’ve just released AdGuard DNS v2.7 and, as usual, we are here to bring you an overview of the new features. In this version, we’ve given the settings and the device connections pages a fresh redesign, and the new DNS-over-HTTPS with authentication functionality was added for a solid security boost. Let’s take a closer look at these improvements:

DNS-over-HTTPS with authentication

We’ve added the option to use DNS-over-HTTPS with authentication, which, in addition to the device identifier, provides a login and password for it. This can restrict access for unauthorized users and, as a result, enhance your security.

To enable this feature, head to settings of the device in which you’d like to use this authentication option, and click Deny other protocols . This will cause other protocol usage options to disappear, leaving only the DNS-over-HTTPS authentication enabled and preventing its use by third parties.

Settings redesign

The settings section has been given a fresh design to make it more user-friendly, aiming for increased efficiency and ease of use. The device configuration page has also undergone changes, allowing for more convenient device management, including the ability to delete all devices with a single click.
