Thanks, Darwin! We had a very short time in Victoria on the Carnival Legend. Darwin picked us up at the ship and showed us all the highlights of Victoria is a very short time. He took what might be the best group photo of the vacation--a sunset photo at Beacon Hill Park. A tour like this is largely dependent upon the quality of the guide. Darwin is a true professional. He accommodated all our requests, and was personable and entertaining. We all had a great time. Second in importantce to the guide is the vehicle. We were in a large Chevy luxury SUV that was very comfortable. Darwin even used a headset to speak over the sound system so back row passengers could hear with no problem. 5 Stars! This tour is highly recommended!

Great Tour in Victoria!

My husband and I booked this company when our cruise ship docked in Victoria, BC last month, and Darwin provided outstanding customer service and a great tour of the city and Buschart Gardens. Going above and beyond, he even suggested (and made a reservation for us) at a restaurant that overlooked the water and the city--beautiful view, and then waited to take us back to the dock after dinner. The SUV was immaculately clean and Darwin was very accommodating and personable. He made our short stop in Victoria amazing. Highly recommend him--you will not be disappointed!

Darwin was an amazing tour guide. We were able to see parts of Victoria that we didn't even know existed. The knowledge of the trails and where the best views made our rainforest tour one of the best hikes we've experienced. He was very accommodating and tailored the tour to what we wanted to see. Highly recommend!

Darwin was great and so easy to arrange a kayak rental with in the beautiful Gorge area. Would definitely recommend them for tours or rentals. He arrived early for drop off, and early for pickup, and helped inform us how to navigate the high quality, comfortable kayaks for a more enjoyable trip. We even saw a seal sun bathing along our journey, a nice highlight. Love that there are options on where to go for the rentals (lakes, ocean, river waterways). Even my parents enjoyed the 2 hour leisure afternoon :)

Surfside adventure tours was great to work with from the start. Darwin was very easy to communicate with over email to book our tour. We decided on a Cowichan Valley wine tour. He picked a few vineyards for us, all based on feedback from previous tours, which was great. They all had delicious wines, and each was a bit different, which was nice, one more of a farm feel, one had a super modern flair. He knew a lot about Vancouver Island and stopped at some viewpoints along the way. My friends and I were super "efficient" with our wine tasting, and rather than bring us home early, Darwin offered us a few options of going to another winery, a chocolate shop, or see a couple of castles around the island that we had expressed interest in. They also offer hiking tours, which seemed like a blast, the mountains on the island are beautiful, so I would consider that for our next trip out there. I really have no complaints about the tour. Thanks Darwin!

An out of town visiting friend and I had the pleasure of a Cowichan Valley wine your with Darwin of Surfside Adventure Tours. It was a great day and Darwin as a long time local provided a lot of detail and ante dotes on the area. Attentive and respectful we caught up, enjoyed some lovely wines and liked our exploring.

My personalized hiking tour with Darwin was amazing! I was impressed by his knowledge of both the city and the numerous trails Victoria has to offer. Scenic views of several waterfalls, rainforest and coastline made for unforgettable memories. Highly recommend!

"Two Hour Luxury City Tour". I was on a cruise that was only in Victoria for 4 hours and wanted to get the most out of seeing it. We were only 3 people, but I noticed that this independent tour was about the same price for 6 or 7 people as the cruise ship's similar tour was for the 3 people! Although the 3 of us would have been fine in that big vehicle, I had nothing to lose to book this tour for 6 or 7 people knowing that I would meet other people during the cruise that would want to go. If I didn't meet others I would still be paying the same price for the 3 of us as on the ship. I easily met 3 people that wanted to go, so we ended up with 6, and split the cost between us. It was so much nicer to have our own driver and be able to spend as much or as little time at the places WE wanted to go to that the driver suggested. The vehicle, a luxury SUV, looked brand new, comfortable, air conditioned, and had tall windows for viewing. The driver, Darwin, had a microphone for his narrative so everyone could hear.. Very informative and interesting. He picked us up from the ship at the time we designated (9:30am), and he was there holding his sign with our name...the first person we saw when getting off the ship. We were originally going to have him drop us downtown to shop after the tour, but we were having so much fun that we added an hour to our two-hour tour and he dropped us back at the ship. Since downtown is not within walking distance of the ship, we would have to find a cab or take the ship shuttle at an additional cost, and didn't know where we could buy tickets for the ship shuttle. It was easier to skip the shopping and take the tour SUV back to the ship. Darwin would have waited for us to shop if we had wanted to use that extra hour for shopping, but we didn't. The cost of the extra hour was only an extra $15 per person, so well worth it, and you don't have to decide in advance. He took us back to the ship at 12:30pm and the ship sailed at 1:30pm. I highly recommend this personalized tour! By the way, the cost you see online is in Canadian dollars, not US dollars. $225 in Canada dollars is $178 in US dollars, more economical for the US people. The cost was about $29 US per person for the 6 of us. A good value! Darwin was exceptionally nice, thoughtful, and attentive driver (the owner of the company).

When Our cruise ship stopped in Victoria , BC we were just going to walk around on our own when Darwin pleasantly approached us, offering a tour. We had a wonderful personal tour geared to our interests. Darwin did an excellent professional tour, had a wonderful clean SUV, and made our evening extremely enjoyable. We would highly recommend Darwin and plan on using his tour company whenever we return to Victoria. We give him 5 stars.

Fantastic trip – wasn’t just about the Orcas (although they were brilliant!), we saw humpback whale, sea otter, bald eagle, sea lions, harbour and elephant seals too. Staff onboard were really knowledgeable and the backdrop of the mountains in Washington State was just spectacular. All in all, a great trip and sensitively done.

3 Hour Kayak Tour $95

The three hour tour covers six miles and is designed as an active kayak tour.  The morning is the best time to venture out of the harbour for a tour of Victoria’s coastline and nearby islands because the wind is typically at its lightest.  July through September is Pupping Season when we have the chance to see female harbour seals caring for their young.

Children 12 years and older. Reservations required.

Daily 9am and 11am**

2 Hour Kayak Tour $70

The two hour guided kayak tour travels less distance than our three hour tour.  Depending on the wind, we may venture out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca or explore Victoria’s Inner harbour.  We’ll have chance encounters with Harbour seals, river otters, many types of shore birds.

Children 7 years and older.  Reservations required.

With two paddlers on board our stable double kayaks, it’s easier for smaller paddlers. Following a brief lesson and orientation we spend a leisurely 90 minutes paddling the sheltered waterways of Victoria’s unique harbour. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
