Big Wild Announces The Efferusphere Is Here Tour Date in Missoula with Bay Ledges

Posted January 11, 2023 | Announcement , Featured , Live Music , The Wilma .

EDM producer, songwriter, and musician Bi g Wild will bring The Efferusphere Is Here Tour to Missoula for a concert at the Wilma on March 15, 2023 with support from Bay Ledges.

Jackson Stell, a.k.a. Big Wild, first came on the scene in 2012 and has since become one of EDM’s fastest-rising stars. He broke out in 2015 with the track “Aftergold,” which topped the Spotify Global Viral Chart upon release. He followed the success of “Aftergold” with his debut EP, Invincible , in 2017.

His popularity exploded after the release of his debut album, Superdream , which included top tracks like “6’s to 9’s” (feat. Rationale) and “Awaken.” The album further expanded on Big Wild’s production skills but especially showcased his songwriting and vocal abilities.

In 2022, Big Wild released his sophomore album and tour namesake The Efferusphere. The 14-track album explores his indie rock side and the psychedelic sounds of electronica.

Big Wild is also known for his diverse live performances, where he switches between multiple instruments (drum pads, synths, keyboards & live vocals). He put on a killer show the last time he played at The Wilma in 2019 and we’re sure he’s only gotten better.

The added help of up and coming laid back indie artist — Bay Ledges — is bound to make this an incredible evening from beginning to end!

About Big Wild

After a period of isolation, of introspection and a journey inward, you step outside. Out into the world, emerging as a new self, prepared to face the external. Yet, as you come up for air, and cross over the threshold, nothing is as you remember it. There’s been a shift in the atmosphere and you’re overwhelmed by a sweeping, corporal sense of emotion. You can feel the tension, saturated in the air. As if the world is now cloaked in a palpable sense of feeling. Enter The Efferusphere.

You’ve set foot into a parallel dimension – one in which the emotional energy defines the law of what you see, of what you hear, based on how you feel. The Efferusphere is the emotional atmosphere of life on earth.

This phenomenon shakes you at your core, wholly exposing you to a seemingly impossible level of depth in introspection – but it is a safe space to be witness to yourself. You can finally observe your emotions rather than simply feeling them. You’re struck by sensation never experienced before: one you could not have possibly ever envisioned, akin to synesthesia for the soul. You find yourself physically surrounded by isolated emotional energy, as if they composite what we commonly understand as the weather & ether we move through.

Enthralled by this life-altering experience, akin to entering a world painted through the lens of magical realism, Stell found himself captivated and inspired to open this newfound world to those around him. Thus, he returns after nearly three years with his new album: The Efferusphere.

Detroit’s vibrant music scene takes center stage with performances by hometown hero Big Sean, the inspirational Detroit Youth Choir, and the multiplatinum sensation Bazzi.

“With the Draft coming to Detroit, we knew the importance of representing the rich cultural history and music legacy of this city as part of our NFL Draft Concert Series,” said Tim Tubito, director of event presentation and content at the NFL. “With an incredible lineup of headliners who all hail from the region, we’re excited for these great artists to help us create an amazing on-site experience for our fans and prospects.”

Kicking off the festivities on April 25, Big Sean, known for his chart-topping hits and philanthropic endeavors, will ignite the stage at 6:15 p.m. ET, setting the tone for an electrifying weekend.

Day two sees the Detroit Youth Choir spreading their message of talent and resilience at 6:00 p.m. ET on April 26, with a special appearance by the NFL Player’s Choir capping off their performance.

Following the conclusion of Rounds 2-3 on April 26, a dazzling fireworks display and tribute to Detroit music will light up the night.

As the draft wraps up on April 27, Bazzi will take the stage, closing out the concert series with his soulful melodies and captivating performance style.

“Bud Light is committed to making great football moments even easier to enjoy, and the NFL Draft is one of the most celebrated and most defining events for fans, players and teams alike,” said Todd Allen, Vice President of Marketing for Bud Light. “We couldn’t be prouder to be presenting sponsor of the NFL Draft and to bring easy enjoyment to NFL fans all weekend long in Motor City.”

All performances will be held at the Draft Theater in Campus Martius Park, offering free general fan viewing on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can secure entry through the NFL OnePass app or NFL.com/DraftAccess.

In addition to the musical extravaganza, the NFL Draft Experience presented by Rocket Mortgage will offer fans a chance to immerse themselves in football festivities from April 25-27 at Hart Plaza, featuring games, exhibits, player appearances, and more.

With Detroit artist Angela Davis performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and Caleb Carroll singing the national anthem on day one, the 2024 NFL Draft promises to be a celebration of both football and music, showcasing the best of Detroit’s talent and culture.

Who’s Taylor Swift anyway?

Taylor Swift has gone through “hell” because of her name — but not the Taylor Swift you’re thinking of.

A 19-year-old from the Scottish village of Newarthill, Lanarkshire, shares a name with the global superstar — and is often told she’s an imposter of the pop phenomenon, who released her latest chart-topping, blood-spilling album , “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19.

Her ID has been questioned by taxi drivers and border officials to the point that she now additionally carries around her passport to prove she’s not trying to impersonate the “Cruel Summer” singer.

“I’ve had hell because of my name,” the Swift of Scotland told The Sun .

Swift’s parents, Mairi Rice and Peter Swift, both 43, named their daughter before Taylor Swift became the huge star she is today.

The singer’s self-titled debut album was released in 2006 when baby Swift, born in December 2004, would’ve been about 2 years old.

“Normally, most of us only need to have documentation for a few things,” her mom told the outlet. “But for Taylor, she needs it for absolutely everything. Nobody believes her.”

Naturally, Mairi and Peter didn’t know about the yet-to-be global sensation when they named their daughter.

“As soon as we saw our girl, she just looked like a Taylor Swift,” Mairi said. “She is very outgoing, very bubbly. The name Taylor Swift is not a coincidence. Something led to that. It’s in her character.”

A few years later, Mairi saw her daughter’s name pop up on the screen of a music channel — and after that, more people started to recognize the name.

The teen first discovered she shared a name with a celebrity when she was just 12 years old and attending Taylor High School. (Yes, you read that correctly, too.)

After the release of Swift’s 2014 album “1989,” people started coming up to her at school and telling her she had “a famous name.”

“I told them, ‘No, I don’t.’ Then I realized who she was. Now I’m a top Swiftie fan. I love her,” she said of her namesake, who currently is in a well-publicized relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Luckily for her, the name recognition meant she was well-known at school and “never had problems with getting bullied,” she said.

“Maybe in a few arguments, I got, ‘Shut up — your name’s Taylor Swift.’ Some people don’t like her,” she shared. “But I love Taylor. That’s life; you just move on.”

She believes the Swift name has also made employers think she’s not genuine when applying to jobs — and she’s subsequently faced trouble finding work.

“When applying for jobs, I think I don’t get any news back because they’re looking at my name and they think it’s a fake application or something,” she shared.

Her mom agreed: “She thinks her name doesn’t help.”

On top of that, she’s had doctors, dentists, shop workers and others skeptical of her because of her name, which the younger Taylor admits can be embarrassing.

“The last holiday we went on, we were approaching the gate when we could hear the air hostesses saying, ‘We can’t believe her name is Taylor Swift,'” her mom shared. “And when it comes to the passport checks, staff are skeptical. They say to her, ‘Your name is what?’ And they’ll look again.”

She also has issues showing her ID at bars — nobody believes her age — much less her name — because she “looks so young” and shares the recognizable moniker.

“But I’ll get in with my ID. And then everybody’s talking about my name, saying, ‘Taylor Swift is in the pub.’ I need to show everybody my passport,” she shared.

“I’ve been embarrassed so much because of my name that I deserve something good out of it. I do like my name — it’s quite unique,” she said. “But sometimes there can be embarrassing sides to it.”

Taylor Swift performs during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at the National Stadium on March 02, 2024 in Singapore.

But the name is where their similarities end.

The “Fortnight” singer has racked up 283 million Instagram followers, but the Scotland teenager can’t even use her real name on the platform.

“When we put her name into Facebook, they were, like, ‘You’re trying to copy her name.’ We sent them documents but they still said she was copying a celebrity’s name,” her mom Mairi shared.

“I get called the wee Taylor Swift,” her daughter quipped, referring to her 5-foot height, compared to 34-year-old Swift’s 5-foot-11 stature.

Scotlands own Taylor Swift (19)

While one Taylor Swift is traveling the world for her Eras Tour , the other is learning in school and working small jobs.

“I did music, history, home economics and geography at school,” the younger Swift said. “And since then I’ve worked in warehouses, a chip shop and at an amusement park. But I might go back to college to do drama.”

Scot’s Swift is a self-proclaimed Swiftie, admitting that she loves to sing her namesake’s songs at karaoke when she gets the chance.

She’s even hoping to score tickets to the Eras Tour at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium in June.

“I love Taylor Swift. I was saying to my pals if she comes here, I’ll need to get a ticket so I can go on stage with her,” she shared. “I’d hold up a big poster saying, ‘My name is Taylor Swift.’ I wanted tickets, but they are so expensive.”
