Do NOT waste your money! My travel agent (Amy Bressler) booked the wrong room even though I only told her I wanted a 2 bedroom family room. I found out 2 weeks before we are supposed to leave that she booked the wrong room! I contacted her right away and she blamed me for not noticing earlier! How is that even my fault? We went with a travel agent for a reason. To add I nsult to injury Ken Fronk the branch manager called me and also told me it was my fault! I am not an agent and do not know the lingo so how the heck was I supposed to know the wrong room was booked. Even after sending them screenshots of all this, I have to pay $154 more than what the room should have cost us! Horrible customer service and Amy even said "you should feel lucky I even got the room you wanted". I brought them over $50,000 in business but that doesn't matter!

Work with Ken @ Camp Hill Boscov's travel for now 20 years, He is the best, He always looks out for us and always lets us know about the Island and the safety there and the Resorts standings, Ken is our got to for all are travel. He is always up front with us and tries to get us the best deals. And he has also tried to get the price matching from other carriers, We were trying to book a trip this year but worked with someone else in the office because Ken was on Vacation, but they didn't get the price match for us, but don't think they work on it like Ken always has. If you want to travel Go see Ken @ Camp Hill he is very personable and will get you a good Vacation. The STREBIG

Terrible experience! I booked a trip to Sandals in Jamaica. Was quoted a price so I booked it. Calls me two days later, said the price went up. I said how can that be, I locked it in? Was told by Pat in the corporate office that they forgot to book it before they went home! She said, oh well.

I Will never travel and /or spend money at Boscov again. My husband and I planned a trip to Cancun, Purchased the insurance that was sold to us that for any reason you can't go on the trip you will get your money back. When the worst happened and we could not go on our trip we only got a portion of the money we spent (less then 50%). I think it was dishonest and poor business. They pushed the buck saying it was Apple vacations that wouldn't give it back and maybe that was so but they still should make good on what they sold. Very Disappointing. Save yourself some trouble and plan with someone else.

You responded to my review about calling you, but the same e-mail I posted on here was the same one that I did send to your company and it was NEVER responded to. You were not the issue on the trip, the poor planning and false information from the travel agent was the problem. I will now be planning a "make-up" trip since the first one turned into a disaster.

Hello Janelle, We regret to hear that your experience has not met your expectations. I would like to personally speak with you again to continue our conversation. Please call me at 610-779-8640. I look forward to speaking with you. Sincerely, Pat K. Cinfici, President of Boscov's Travel

We planned a trip in May for my fiances birthday to Mexico. I used the Boscovs Travel in Harrisburg, but will not name the exact employee. Not only did she disclose information about my trip to a 3rd party and was not supposed to do that (e-mail was forwarded to the head of boscovs travel) but she didn't come through on the trip either!! This is the letter sent to the head of Boscovs travel in May, but was never responded to. " I wish I could say that the whole trip was a great one, but I can't. I wasn't happy with the planning --- did. I very much appreciate the fact that you tried to get everything together for me that you were able to. --- booked us 2 double bed instead of the King size bed that I had requested. I asked the front desk for a King size bed and it took them over 4 hours after arriving for us to finally get a room that had a king size bed. Basically the first day of the trip was just waiting around to get us a room that we could stay in and a quick dinner. John is a larger man and I asked if I would need two tickets for him, so that he could ride on the plane. We were booked with two single seats, so I was under the impression that he would be fine with just one. We had to switch seats all over the plane to try to get us to sit together on the way home as he was too large for one seat. I expressed that he was a larger man, but that wasn't taken into consideration. We were very embarrassed that we had to ask everyone to switch so that he wouldn't squeeze them. He was very embarrassed and upset when we had to keep moving to ensure everyone else was comfortable. I also asked --- to find a resort that provided Patron and if not available it had to have Silver Don Julio, even if it wasn't the deal that she gave us, that would be fine and I would book a different trip. Those are the only two things that John drinks. She told me that they didn't have Patron but that they had Silver Don Julio, so that was perfect. After arriving at the resort and ordering a Don Julio, we were told that they do not have it. John was not able to drink and enjoy the all-inclusive part of the trip as he wasn't able to drink with me. She specifically told me that the alcohol that I inquired about would be provided there and it wasn't. Also, when we arrived, there was no cake in the room. There was no Happy Birthday banner on the door. Nothing that --- and I had arranged was in place. I did ask to speak to Lora the one you have e-mailed me about, but she was apparently off for the day so nothing was communicated about it. After two days and fussing with the staff there, I was finally able to get some type of make shift dessert for John for his birthday. I ended up having to plan the birthday myself. It cost me $250.00 to buy a bottle of Champagne so that we could have a birthday dinner to make up for the way that the trip was going. This is not a reflection on you, because I do feel that you really did try your best to repair the trip and get the proper information to me on such a short notice, but I do not believe I will be using Boscov's travel for any of my future trips that we were planning. This trip left a bad taste in my mouth and it was meant as a celebration for John's birthday. What was supposed to be the best birthday he ever had, fell very short due to the problems. Thank you for taking the time to follow up with me about our trip. It is very much appreciated.

I accompanied my dad on a Boscov's bus trip to the 9-11 Museum on 10-18-14. That was my first, and LAST, time. My dad has taken several of these trips, and says this was his LAST. It was a fiasco. The trouble started early, at the 3rd, and last, pickup location in the morning. The travel director stood outside the bus, calmly conversing with a passenger she knew, while waiting for the people who hadn't bothered to be on time. She didn't seem to care how long she delayed the trip. Everyone finally arrived, and the bus departed 15 minutes late. The trip kept running further and further behind schedule from that point. The trip coordinator must not have taken traffic into account. There was supposed to be a 90 stop at Rockefeller Center for lunch or sightseeing. The tour was running so far behind schedule that there was not enough time to get there. That stop was canceled, and we were taken to South Street Seaport instead, where we were told there would be a nice food court, and given half an hour to get back to the bus. The only food available was from street vendors set up in a dirty alley. The bus was late picking up the passengers, even though we'd be told repeatedly that we could NOT be late arriving at the memorial, or we would not be allowed in. We did arrive late, and we were dropped off 2 blocks away. The tour director led the whole group in the direction of the memorial, across a street, then back across the same street, then back across the same street AGAIN. She didn't appear to know where to go. We did eventually get inside, but lost more than half an hour of the time promised in the itinerary. My dad and I hurried through the museum, and made sure we got back to the bus on time. About half the passengers were NOT on time, and the tour director took the time to round everyone up. We left the memorial more than half an hour late. The scheduled dinner stop at a turnpike rest area was shortened, because the trip was still running so far behind schedule. When we got closer to home, I saw that the bus was taking the long way back to the mall. Then he was going the WRONG way. He was relying solely on incorrect GPS directions. The tour director asked passengers for directions. We finally got back to my car more than an hour past the scheduled time. The bus driver was joking about it. After that disaster of a trip, and spending more time sitting on the bus than at all stops combined, I did not find this funny. I e-mailed Boscov's to request a partial refund, since what was promised had not been delivered. I received a reply which said that it was the bus driver's fault, since he relied on GPS instead of the directions he was given. I replied to say that was only PART of the problem, and Boscov's is still responsible, since it contracted with the bus company. I received no response after that. Don't waste your money on a Bosov's tour. It's a rip-off.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other

Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
