Adelaide Hills Wine Tours

Adelaide hills wine tours.

The Adelaide Hills is the most unexpected spot in South Australia when it comes to wine. Sporting a smooth mixture of experimental and traditional blends, this up and coming region is a place for those seeking sophistication and relaxation. This beautifully cool climate lends itself to incredible red production (think, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir), while offering some of the brightest whites (Sav Blanc, Riesling and Arneis are a must), while those pining for a beer can get their fill at the excellent local microbreweries

Taking up 70kms of South Australia, the Adelaide Hills is home to over 100 wineries, many sporting eco-certifications, local produce and organic wares.

While some cellar doors revel in small production of only a few hundred bottles a year, other wineries have varieties that can be found on the most sophisticated wine lists world wide, perfect for cellaring or drinking now.

Don’t just take our word for it, sit back and relax as we explore one of Australia’s oldest wine-producing regions, and truly taste the road less traveled.

Wine Tasting Adelaide

The highlights reel: the best of our adelaide wine tours.

Time and time again, South Australia’s wine regions have topped the ‘best wine regions in Australia’ lists. Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, and McLaren Vale are uniquely positioned and are some of the only regions that can take advantage of both warm and cool climate growing conditions. When you combine that with South Australia’s passion for pairing a drop with exquisite meals, it’s not hard to understand why tourists flock to the region to do wine tasting in Adelaide. Benders Bus Tours have been operating in the area for a while, and we’re favourites in the region for our superior service, our incredible wine tours, and our fantastic value for money. Here are a few of the highlights from each of our tours to give you an idea of what to expect when you book Benders Bus Tours for wine tasting in Adelaide.

Wine Tasting In Adelaide Hills

Our Adelaide Hills wine tour is second to none when it comes to sightseeing, incredible food, and wine tasting. Whether you're bringing a small group of close friends or you have a whole crew of excited wine enthusiasts, you're guaranteed to love this tour.

  • Bird In Hand winery. The first stop on the Adelaide Hills tour is the Bird In Hand winery. This winery is renowned in the area for their shiraz, but they also make beautiful pinot noir, chardonnay, and riesling amongst others. Bird In Hand has a very earthy, nature-rich atmosphere, making it the perfect first stop for the day. Shopping in Hahndorf. If you adore German architecture, food, and history, you are going to fall in love with Hahndorf. As part of wine tasting in Adelaide Hills, we include a stop into the historic town so you can shop artisanal products to your heart's content.
  • Mini-golf at Sidewood Wines. After a long day of eating, drinking, and shopping, the perfect way to let your hair down is a round of mini-golf at Sidewood Wines. Don't expect your aim to be too fantastic!

Wine Tasting In Barossa Valley

There are so many opportunities for wine tasting in Barossa Valley ; we simply couldn't put it all into one tour. You'll simply have to come back and do a second round with Bender Bus Tours if you want to experience all of the Barossa Valley. There are a couple of places, however, that are incredible enough that we had to include them on both tours.

  • Langmeil Winery. The Freedom 1843 is believed to be the oldest Shiraz vineyard in the world, and you can find it at Langmeil Winery in the Barossa Valley. You'll have the opportunity to experience the rich history of this incredible winery and sample some of the finest wines in Australia.
  • Kies Family Wines. Kies Family Wines are just as renowned for their food and cafe as they are for their incredible wines. Both our Barossa Valley tours have the option to stop in at this family-owned winery for a bite to eat and to sample their vast range of vintages.

Wine Tasting In McLaren Vale

You can't do wine tasting in Adelaide without visiting the McLaren Vale region. Much like our Barossa Valley tours, we couldn't narrow down all the marvellous wineries, cafes, and shops into one tour, so we've spread them out over two. There are a couple of destinations, however, that make appearances on both tours.

  • Australian Boutique Premium Wines. This little winery has been in operation for more than 25 years, and they specialise in connecting small wine producers to customers. If you're looking for unique wines you wouldn't find anywhere else, Australian Boutique Premium Wines is the place for you.
  • Menz chocolate shop. When you choose Benders Bus Tours for wine tasting in McLaren Vale , you'll end the day in Menz chocolate shop. The boutique, handmade chocolates are infamous in the area, and a sweet treat is just the thing to finish off a long day of sampling decadent wines.
  • Woodstock Winery. If you're looking for a wine that is unashamedly Australian in origin and captures the essence of McLaren Vale, you can't go past the vintages on offer at Woodstock Winery. Visiting this vineyard is a truly wonderful experience, which is why we offer it on both of our tours wine tasting in McLaren Vale.

Trip Advisor Certificate Of Excellence Holder Since 2012!

"A great day travelling the Barossa Valley via the Adelaide Hills with Bums on Seats tours. A good mix of wineries, food stops and scenery. A small tour that offered a unique experience while still going to the main attractions such as Maggie Beer’s and the Barossa Cheese shop. Recommend for those looking for a smaller tour without the big price tag. Thanks for a great day Paul!"

"We called to enquire about this tour at 7:30pm the night before. Paul answered, provided wonderful customer service and we booked the tour. We were picked up from our Hotel and taken to a number of beautiful wineries. The highlight was the Te-Aro Winery, beautiful wine and an amazing history. Paul was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, funny, kind and accommodating. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I highly recommend this tour!"

"I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Paul was very knowledgable, entertaining and funny (he loves his dad jokes) about Adelaide, the areas we were travelling through, and about the wineries as well. All the wineries we visited were good and we had a good selection of wines to try at each and the owners/servers knew their stuff well. Te-Aro was my favourite winery of the day. The food stops were good too. And lunch was very good also. The tour was well worth it. Thanks Paul!"

"Great tour, only three of us 2 overseas students and myself the Aussie. Tour guide tailored the day to suit all of us and made sure the two young students got a very informative and enjoyable experience of SA. He was friendly knowledgeable and available when needed. Made sure our needs were met. Plenty of time for wine tasting and a pleasant lunch break. I highly recommend this company."

"Tour guide great tailored wine-tours by democratic vote by those on the particular day's tour Tour guide great at spotting koalas and kangaroos which made for a delightful Australian animal-watching! Tour Guide was freely and articulate communicator!!!"

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
