Rockin N Rollin welcomes you to join us this holiday season for a tour of some of Omaha's most dazzling light displays. With over a decade of experience, we've had the joy of creating cherished memories for countless families and friends. This holiday season, gather your loved ones and join us for a unique and memorable experience.

We offer two tours each night for the month of December, each lasting 1.5 hours, showcasing the amazing lights of Northwest Omaha.

We give two options for booking.

Option 1:   Choose either one of our 1.5hr nightly tours. The tour begins with your group being picked up at Westroads Mall. Once your group is comfortably aboard, we embark on the first leg of the tour. Midway through, we make a quick stop at a gas station for a restroom break. Afterward, we conclude the tour and return to Westroads for drop-off.   Tour times and rates are listed below.

Option 2:   We offer the availability for a custom pickup. You have the option to rent both time slots if they are available. This will give you the bus for a total of 3 hours. You can pick any 3hr block between 5:30pm -10pm. The bus will pick you up from a preapproved location of your choice. From there, we will conduct the standard 1.5hr tour. Any additional time remaining after the tour, the bus driver can take you on a leisurely cruise while you enjoy the amenities of the bus or accommodate any other preferences you may have until your 3-hours is over. We do offer a $75 discount when booking both time slots for a custom pickup. The discount is already applied in the pricing below.

Here's what you need to know

Tour Details

  • We have been providing Holiday Light Tours for over a decade.  Our tours showcase some of Omaha’s best displays.  The tour will be of Northwest Omaha between 120th – 160th and Dodge and Fort.  The tour includes the most popular neighborhoods like Linden Estates and Larimore.
  • The tours last 1.5hrs with a midway stop at a gas station for a restroom break.
  • Tours Dates are available for booking from December 1st through the 29th.  Tour times are found under the rates section.
  • We do have an active calendar to show current availability. To see calendar, click here
  • To book a tour please fill out the reservation form.

Standard 1.5-Hour Tour:

  • The tour commences with a convenient pickup from the Northwest parking lot of Westroads Mall near the Flagship Commons Entrance.
  • Westroads Mall provides the option to use restrooms before or after the tour, as well as a chance for some shopping, or grabbing a bite to eat from the food court.

Custom Pickups:

  • For custom pickups, our bus will pick your group up from a preapproved location of your choice. *Due to the size of our buses we do not pickup from residential neighborhoods, but can pick up from any large parking lot of a main road. **Our Aries van can pick up from any location.
  • This option does require you to rent both time slots, if they are available. This will give you the bus for a total of 3 hours. You can pick any 3hr block between 5:30pm -10pm.
  • We will do the same preplanned tour of Northwest Omaha,  *Due to the size of our buses we only do light tours of our preset route.
  • Depending on your pickup location, it typically takes about 20 minutes to reach our light tour route and another 20 minutes to return to your drop-off location. With drive time and the light tour included, most rentals have approximately 30 minutes of extra time. If there is time remaining after your tour, we are happy to cruise you around while you enjoy the bus, or you can use the bus at your discretion until the end of the rental.

Age Policy:

  • Our holiday light tours are family friendly and are suitable for groups of all ages. However, no one under the age of 21 is allowed to consume alcohol on the bus. Violation of this policy will result in the immediate termination of the rental.

Music and Refreshments:

  • Music is a vital part of the experience, and all our buses are equipped with Bluetooth to connect your phone to our sound system. Create a special holiday playlist or choose from a preset playlist on your preferred music streaming service.
  • Some houses on the tour route may have their own music synced to their light displays, at these stops we will play their songs through our sound system.
  • You can bring your favorite beverages, with the exception of glass beer bottles, red wine, or Jello. Please ensure any cups brought on the bus have lids. Light snacks for your guests are welcome, but be mindful of messy snacks like popcorn, chocolate, or frosting, *Any excessive mess, glitter, confetti, smashed/melted candies , or spills are subject to a $75 cleaning fee.
  • If you or guests are bringing coolers keep in mind, larger coolers take up a lot of aisle room, we highly suggest bringing smaller flexible coolers. * Our Tiffany bus does have extra wide aisles and can accommodate large coolers.

Themed Fun:

  • Consider making it a themed party! Encourage your guests to wear ugly sweaters, costumes, Grinch or Elf attire, matching hats, funny socks, or even pajamas. We'll have the buses decorated for the season, complete with cozy fireplaces playing on our TVs.

Punctuality Matters:

  • Please ensure that you and your guests arrive on time, as we have multiple light tours scheduled each night. If a member of your group is running late it will cut into your scheduled tour. We begin loading the buses 10 minutes before the designated start time.

Restroom Information:

  • Our buses do not have onboard restrooms, so kindly advise your guests to plan accordingly and use restrooms before the tour starts. Restrooms are available at the entrance to Flagship Commons at Westroads Mall.
  • We do plan a pre-scheduled gas station stop halfway through the tour.

Contact and Payment:

  • As the host, you'll be the main point of contact with the driver. Please introduce yourself and handle any remaining payments at the start of the rental. If you have special requests or questions, our drivers are always ready to assist.

Weather Considerations:

  • During the winter season, weather conditions are important. We prioritize safety all our passengers and drivers. We monitor the weather daily and will contact you in the event of adverse road conditions. If we need to cancel, we'll make every effort to reschedule. If that's not possible, a full refund will be provided.

Is the yearly concert that used to be held after the Gene Leahy tree lighting ceremony at the Holland no more? That makes me really sad. It was something we enjoyed every year. :(

I have a feeling it will return once construction is over on the Gene Leahy Mall. At least, I'm crossing my fingers that it all returns once it's finished!

Mitzi Stinson

Tuesday 4th of December 2018

hi Kim i was wondering if you knew of some hotels in Omaha that decorate for Christmas? I am wanting to come and stay in Omaha Christmas weekend, and would like to be surrounded by beautiful decorations and great food. thanks...

Hi Mitzi - Good question! The one place I know for certain is Magnolia Hotel downtown. It has a large gingerbread display each year. I'm fairly certain that Embassy Suites in the Old Market will be decorated too, or at the very least, it's right by all the gorgeous downtown lights. I'm going to ask around though. If you follow Oh My Omaha on Facebook or Twitter, I'll see what people respond with.
