This is the setlist from the first night of Corey Taylor's solo tour
From Slipknot to Stone Sour to CMFT, check out what Corey Taylor played on the first night of his U.S. headline tour.
Corey Taylor made his return to the stage earlier this week as part of a socially-distanced U.S. solo headline run in support out of his latest album CMFT .
And as well as debuting many songs from that record at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona, Corey also unleashed plenty of material from his other bands Slipknot and Stone Sour , plus a couple of covers thrown in for good measure across the 23-song performance (according to setlist.fm ).

From Slipknot's rarely-played but beautiful All Hope Is Gone single Snuff, to Stone Sour hits like Made Of Scars, Through Glass and Bother, to solo sing-alongs like CMFT Must Be Stopped , Samantha's Gone and Meine Lux, it sounds like Corey treated fans to a typical rollercoaster of a show…
Check out the setlist (note that setlist.fm says it is out of order , but this is what he played):
1. Bother (Stone Sour song) 2. Home 3. Zzyzx Rd. (Stone Sour song) 4. In The Flesh? (Pink Floyd cover) 5. Made Of Scars (Stone Sour song) 6. Snuff (Slipknot song) 7. Song #3 (Stone Sour song) 8. Silverfish 9. Samantha's Gone 10. Shakin' (Eddie Money cover) 11. Taciturn (Stone Sour song) 12. Tired (Stone Sour song) 13. Culture Head 14. Halfway Down 15. Meine Lux 16. HWY 666 17. Black Eyes Blue 18. Kansas 19. CMFT Must Be Stopped 20. The Travelers, Pt. 2 (Stone Sour song) 21. European Tour Bus Bathroom Song 22. On the Dark Side (John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band cover) 23. Through Glass (Stone Sour song)

CMFT Must Be Stopped:
Discussing the return of live music back in March , Corey said of learning how to keep gig-goers safe amid the pandemic: "The only way this happens is if we learn to do it. We have to get on with it. President Biden was talking about the fact that it’s a national emergency that there’s been no school – real school – and a real plan in place, because there was really nobody running the boat for God knows how long, and that’s been a national emergency. And a lot of people feel like that about what they do for a living.
"I’m not gonna put what I do as important as education. However, what I do is responsible for a lot of people’s livelihoods. And the faster I can find a way to get us all back doing that in a way that doesn’t endanger people, the better. Instead of just kind of using it as a crutch and waiting for it to go away… Guess what? This may never go away. We need to learn to adapt – we need to adapt and move on and find ways to do this. Like I said, once the vaccine’s had a chance to really kind of do its thing, we will really start to have those tentative steps back towards normalcy as best we can."

“Anthemic, catchy and powerful” – REVOLVER
“CMF2 is a party album, pure and simple. Corey Taylor and his band have built upon the strengths of its predecessor and refined their core sound into something distinct, forceful and utterly exhilarating.” – METAL HAMMER
“To say that Corey Taylor was charismatic is equivocal to saying that the sun is hot. Gliding across stage with a swaying swagger likely to give Mick Jagger imposter-syndrome, the legend was all smile — and why wouldn’t he be? This was his crowd. Whether there for Slipknot, Stone Sour, the solo songs or SpongeBob, the crowd were united in their adoration, and for good reason. Although Corey Taylor might be better known for the dark and oppressive songs of his masked menagerie, his masterful set, across all of his different eras, was superb.” – BRING THE NOISE UK
Fresh on the heels of completely sold out shows throughout Europe and Australia tours, the GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum singer-songwriter, actor, and New York Times best-selling author Corey Taylor is back for another North American tour in support of his acclaimed new solo studio album, CMF2 .
Best known as vocalist and lyricist for Slipknot, Stone Sour, and as a solo artist, Taylor’s solo shows are a no-holds barred, unapologetic rock ‘n roll celebration, and openers Des Rocs and Jigsaw Youth will get the party kicked off early. The 20-date headline tour, produced by Live Nation, kicks off in Canada with shows in Toronto and Montreal followed by stops in New York City, Philadelphia, Grand Rapids, Atlanta, and Charlotte, to name a few.
“The first US tour was such a massive success that we had to raise the stakes on this next leg,” says Taylor. “ We’re so stoked to be going out with Des Rocs and Jigsaw Youth, and ready to turn sh*t up a f*cking notch. Get ready for a good f*cking time.”

Ticket sales and fan excitement aside, CMF2 was released in September to critical praise and massive chart impact – the album debuted at #2 on Hard Rock Albums & #14 on Overall Album Sales (Billboard). The first single, “Beyond”, hit #1 on the U.S. Active Rock chart, as well as in the Top Ten Rock songs in Canada and Germany.
CMF2, Taylor’s first album for BMG and the first on his own label imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings , was produced by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Steel Panther, Amon Amarth), who also produced Stone Sour’s 2017 Hydrograd as well as Taylor’s solo debut release, CMFT.
The 13-track opus released packs the energy, experimentation, and forthrightness that’s defined a career which has seen him sell more than 12 million albums with his GRAMMY® Award-winning band Slipknot and several million with chart-toppers Stone Sour. Throughout CMF2, Taylor sings and plays lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and mandolin.
The official video supporting the anthemic new single “ We Are The Rest ” was shot at a remote location within California’s Mojave Desert. Captured through the lens of director Dale “Rage” Resteghini (Hatebreed, Trivium), the clip finds Taylor and his bandmates situated in a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max meets 90’s punk rock skatepark atmosphere surrounded by hundreds of raucous audience members.

See COREY TAYLOR play new solo songs, SLIPKNOT classics at tour kickoff
Corey Taylor kicked off his solo headlining tour last night (May 2nd) in Reading, Pennsylvania, and the crowd was treated to several standout moments. The singer and his backing band played a career-spanning setlist that included Slipknot classics, Stone Sour standouts and several songs from his solo catalog, including the debut of two unreleased tracks!
The songs, titled "We Are the Rest" and "Beyond," are from Taylor's upcoming sophomore album, CMFT2 , the follow-up to 2020's CMFT that's due out sometime later this year. Neither track has been released as a single yet, but as Blabbermouth notes, "Beyond" was originally performed in 2009 by his Junk Beer Kidnap Band, and has been re-worked for the forthcoming solo record.
Elsewhere in the setlist, Taylor played four Slipknot songs — "Before I Forget," "Snuff," "Duality" and "Wait and Bleed" — as well as five Stone Sour tracks and a couple other covers, including Motörhead's "Ace of Spades."

Corey Taylor Announces New Album CMF2 and US Tour, Shares Single “Beyond”: Stream
The Slipknot singer's sophomore solo LP will arrive on September 15th
Corey Taylor has formally announced his highly anticipated sophomore album CMF2 , arriving September 15th, and has shared the lead single “Beyond.” The Slipknot singer has also unveiled dates for a Fall 2023 US solo tour in support of the upcoming LP.
The outing kicks off August 25th in Denver and runs through an October 5th show in Los Angeles, ahead of an appearance at the Aftershock Festival on October 7th in Sacramento, California. Wargasm will be direct support for the run, with Oxymorrons and Luna Aura supporting select dates.
An artist pre-sale starts today (May 16th) at noon ET using the code CMF2 via Ticketmaster , while a Live Nation pre-sale begins Wednesday (May 17th) at 10 a.m. local time with the code ICONIC . Alternatively, you can look for deals or buy tickets for sold-out dates via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.
Taylor has teased his second solo album as being “bigger, better, and harder” than the first, and lead single “Beyond” is a rousing introduction to the singer’s latest collection. The song has origins as far back as 2006, finally coming to fruition in its completed form for CMF2 under the guidance of producer Jay Ruston, who produced Stone Sour’s 2017 Hydrograd as well as the first CMFT LP.
“I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song,” Taylor stated in a press release. “Bringing the masses together, and letting them know that I want my music to take them beyond what they may think about me. Maybe they’ve had a misconception about me. It’s not exactly a calling card, more like throwing the bat signal up and being ‘alright, let’s turn everything on its head.’ It’s almost a dual threat, because now I look at it from two standpoints.”
Added Taylor on working with Ruston once again: “Together we have great ideas, great energy, and are quick to try everything. We’re not afraid to tell each other if it’s a good idea, or also a bad one; we have that kind of trust.”

Corey taylor details ‘cmf2’, announces 2023 solo tour dates.
Posted by Buddy Iahn | May 16, 2023
New project is due this fall
Corey Taylor reveals details for his new solo studio album, CMF2 , which will be available September 15th on his own imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings, in a new deal with BMG . The album’s first song, “ Beyond ,” is available now.
The official video supporting the single was shot at a remote location within California’s Mojave Desert. Captured through the lens of director Dale “Rage” Resteghini (Hatebreed, Five Finger Death Punch, Trivium), the video finds Taylor trudging around the desert as a musing Uncle Sam intermingling with members of the band and the Cherry Bombs – all the while being surrounded by different versions of himself from through the years – before culminating as a live performance for a mass of fans in the round.
“Beyond” harkens back to 2006 in some shape or form. Taylor knew the song was special, but never found the time to bring the tune to its potential. “I originally wrote it as an aggressive romantic song, but I’m also looking at it now as a kind of ‘come together’ song,” Taylor explains.
CMF2 follows up Taylor’s 2020 solo debut CMFT , which featured the No. 1 Billboard mainstream rock single “Black Eyes Blue” and streaming sensation “CMFT Must Be Stopped” featuring Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie. The LP hit No. 6 on Billboard’s US Top Rock Albums charts.
“My first solo album was kind of where I was coming from. This album is more where we’re going,” Taylor adds. CMF2 – where Taylor sings and plays lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and mandolin – packs the energy, experimentation, and forthrightness that’s defined a career which has seen him sell more than 12 million albums with his Grammy-winning band Slipknot and several million with chart-toppers Stone Sour.
In support of his new album, Taylor announces his 2023 tour featuring special guests Wargasm, Oxymorrons, and Luna Aura on select dates. Produced by Live Nation, the 28-city tour kicks off on August 25th at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver making stops across the US in Detroit, Orlando, Dallas and more before the final headline show in Los Angeles at The Wiltern on October 5th.
Tickets will be available starting with Citi presales beginning Tuesday, May 16th. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning Friday, May 19th at 10 am local time at CoreyTaylor.com . Artist VIP pre-sale tickets and packages go on-sale starting Tuesday, May 16th at noon EST.

14. Duality (SLIPKNOT song) 15. Fairies Wear Boots (BLACK SABBATH cover)
Corey kicked off his fall 2023 European tour on November 8 at the O2 Academy in Leeds, United Kingdom.
Taylor recently completed a 28-city U.S. tour. The trek launched on August 25 at Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, making stops across the U.S in Detroit, Orlando, Dallas and more before the final headline show in Los Angeles at The Wiltern on October 5. Support on the tour came from WARGASM , OXYMORRONS and LUNA AURA on select dates.
In a recent interview with Rock Sound , the SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR frontman spoke about the solo album of covers and acoustic recordings, titled "CMFB…Sides" , that he released last year via Roadrunner Records . "CMFB…Sides" comprised nine previously unreleased B-sides, covers of tunes that influenced Taylor , acoustic renditions, and live versions. Asked if he used "CMFB…Sides" as an opportunity to tip his hat to artists that had inspired him growing up, Corey said: "Oh, absolutely. I mean, there are so many people I have not had the chance to nod to, to acknowledge, to thank. Let's not forget music kept me alive. Music was the only source of happiness for me for the longest time, from when I was a kid all the way up until even into my twenties, for God's sakes. Music was the only thing that made me feel something other than horrible about myself. So there were so many voices in my head and so many people kind of holding me up that I am just really scratching the surface. Obviously, I've had a chance to show my respect over the years — 'cause of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR , I've been able to kind of talk about my influences, whatnot — but there's still so many out there that I really want to acknowledge. And the cool thing about doing the B-side stuff is getting to show those little hints and bursts of — doing everything from 'Lunatic Fringe' [ RED RIDER cover] to 'Shakin'' [ Eddie Money cover]."
He continued: "The B-sides that we have for this album [ Corey 's recently released sophomore solo LP, 'CMF2' ], people are gonna freak out. We've got everything from Alice Cooper to ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN . I mean, it's that level of fucking radness. And I also have a band who can play anything, and I'm really, really, really spoiled when it comes to that. So I'm really looking forward to putting that out next year. It's one of those things that I want the audience to kind of get to the point where they expect that, just like, 'Oh, man, this album is great. There's also going to be this album that comes out next year with like all the B-side stuff.' And the cool thing with this is that in addition to the covers — it's not just acoustic versions, it's actually leftover originals that didn't make this album. So it's changed up even more from that side of stuff, so it's evolving. And it just feels great. It's everything that I've ever wanted to do. It's everything I've tried to do with SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR , and I'm finally getting to do it now because I'm the boss and I get to fucking make the decisions."
"CMF2" was released on September 15. Taylor 's first album for BMG and the first on his own label imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings , was produced by Jay Ruston ( ANTHRAX , STEEL PANTHER , AMON AMARTH ),who also helmed STONE SOUR 's 2017 LP "Hydrograd" as well as 2020's "CMFT" .
Throughout "CMF2" , Taylor sings, plays lead and rhythm guitar, piano, and mandolin.
The 13-track opus packs the energy, experimentation, and forthrightness that's defined a career which has seen him sell more than 12 million albums with his Grammy -winning band SLIPKNOT and several million with chart-toppers STONE SOUR .
Taylor began tracking the follow-up to 2020's "CMFT" LP in early January at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada with Ruston . Joining Corey in the studio was the rest of his solo band — bassist Eliot Lorango , drummer Dustin Robert , along with guitarists Christian Martucci and Zach Throne .
Twenty-six songs were recorded for "CMF2" , including "Beyond" and "Post Traumatic Blues" .
"CMFT" featured the No. 1 Billboard mainstream rock single "Black Eyes Blue" and streaming sensation "CMFT Must Be Stopped" (feat. Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie ). The LP hit No. 6 on Billboard 's U.S. Top Rock Albums chart.

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor cancels Asia tour dates in Japan and the Philippines
The announcement comes after Taylor opened up about ongoing mental health struggles and cancelled a run of North American tour dates
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has cancelled his solo tour dates of Asia that were due to take place in Japan and the Philippines.

The announcement comes weeks after the January 24 announcement of these four shows running from March 25 to April 1 in Tokyo, Osaka and Manila. Besides fronting Slipknot and Stone Sour , Taylor has released two solo albums to date.
In a statement released by Filipino promoter Insignia Presents yesterday (February 5), as reported by Bandwagon , Taylor stated that “This is not a decision I made lightly, I have never cancelled shows until recently. But I am prioritising myself in the near term, so I can come back stronger.”
In early January, Taylor cancelled a North American tour , saying that “For the past several months my mental and physical health have been breaking down, and I reached a place that was unhealthy for my family and I.” A few weeks later, the four-day run of shows in Asia was announced.
Taylor later responded to fans who were confused why the North American shows were axed when the Asian ones were going ahead. He shared a video in which he said the Asian tour was a short run: “It’s literally a week. I’m gonna see how I do with that and take it day by day basically.”
At the end of the video, Taylor assured his fans that he was getting the help he needed : “I’m working on self care right now, I’m getting the help I need, and surrounding myself with my family.”
Taylor was due to kick off his Asia tour with two shows at Zepp Haneda in Tokyo, Japan on March 25-26. He would have followed up with a gig at Zepp Osaka Bayside on March 28, and wrapped things up at the New Frontier Theater in Manila, the Philippines, on April 1.

Insignia Presents apologised to fans who had been “looking forward to Corey Taylor’s debut performance in the Philippines”. The Filipino promoter said that tickets bought online would be automatically refunded, while those purchased from the Ticketnet Box Office and mall outlets would be refunded in cash from February 20 to March 20.

The tour was initially planned in support of Taylor’s sophomore solo album, ‘CMF2’, which scored a three-star review from NME upon its release in September last year. In the review, NME ‘s Jordan Bassett wrote: “There’s enough good stuff on here to justify the album’s existence. And if nothing else, it’s a fascinating insight into the dichotomy that drives one of the greatest bands of the 21st Century.”

Slipknot have officially named Eloy Casagrande as their new drummer
Slipknot have revealed that their new drummer is indeed former Sepultura member Eloy Casagrande.
The Iowan nu metal legends confirmed their newest addition’s identity this morning (April 30) in an Instagram post that showcases their revamped outfits and masks.
Casagrande’s personal Instagram account is tagged in the photo, alongside the accounts of vocalist Corey Taylor, percussionist/co-founder Shawn “Clown” Crahan and the other known members of the band.
Still unnamed is Slipknot’s current keyboardist, who joined the band in June 2023 to replace longtime member Craig Jones.
Casagrande joined Slipknot in February, replacing former drummer Jay Weinberg following Weinberg’s dismissal in November 2023.
The band explained that the split with Weinberg was a creative decision in a since-deleted social media statement.
Weinberg responded in a statement of his own , saying that he was “heartbroken and blindsided” by the parting.
Weinberg now drums for US thrash metal crew Suicidal Tendencies.
Casagrande abruptly quit Sepultura in February, shortly before rehearsals for the Brazilian extreme metal veterans’ ongoing farewell tour.
“February 6th, a few days prior to the first rehearsal, drummer Eloy Casagrande informed the band that he was leaving Sepultura to pursue a career in another project,” the band wrote in a statement.
The timing led many fans to speculate that the other project Casagrande was joining was Slipknot.
The speculation heated up in March, when Slipknot posted a photo of a broken drum stick on Instagram, signalling that they had started to rehearse with a new drummer.
Eagle-eyed users noticed that the drum stick was Promark-branded. Casagrande is an ambassador for Promark sticks.
Slipknot played their first show with Casagrande on April 25, also debuting their new masks and a setlist featuring five songs from their 1999 self-titled debut album.
The band then performed at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas on April 27.
Slipknot will embark on a European tour in December to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut, and Crahan has said that the band will perform the album in full.
Support will come from Scottish groove/melodeath collective Bleed From Within .
Slipknot will also play a handful of North American festival dates this year, including a headline set at Knotfest Iowa in September, which will be their first show in their home state since 2021.

On June 29, 1999, Iowa-based heavy metal band Slipknot released their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album.
Twenty-five short years later, they’re one of the biggest groups in the world.
However, the heavy octet never forgot where they came from.
To celebrate their humble beginnings, the band is embarking on their 25th Anniversary ‘Here Comes The Pain Tour’ this summer.
From August through September, Corey Taylor and co. will perform at arenas, domes, amphitheaters and festivals all over North America with special guests Knocked Loose , Orbit Culture and Vended joining them on select dates.
New York fans are in luck, too.
Slipknot is scheduled to drop into Madison Square Garden on Monday, Aug. 12.
As for what to expect, the “Duality” group plans on keeping things intimate.
“We’re gonna make it more personal on the anniversary, but how remains to be seen,” Slipknot vocalist and drummer Shawn Crahan shared in a press release. “Just get ready to have your face kicked in. Because we just do what we do, spread that maggot culture — that disease. And you’ve been infected.”
“Maggots” that can’t wait to get infected their hands on tickets are in luck.
At the time of publication, tickets for all of Slipknot’s upcoming North American concerts and festival dates can be scooped up as soon as today.
Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, May 3, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.
