Recently took the New York shopping trip. My first time on a motor coach. A very convenient way to travel and we had a great driver, her name is Linda and she was very professional, kind and a great personality. Linda was really nice to contact the couple of people who were not at the location to be picked up at the appropriate time. That was very nice of her. Would travel with this company again . On 4/2 at roughly 8:45 pm, one of your bus drivers ran my family off the road, on I86 West in Painted Post NY near exit 43. I was made to get off the exit since the bus driver had been tailgating my family even though we were going 73 mph. The bus driver already had been flashing their high beams in my mirrors for roughly 10 minutes and tailgating. Thankfully nothing made me have to hit my breaks or the bus driver would have crushed my family from being so close to us. I called the customer service immediately after arriving home for the person speaking with me to not take my name or number or ask any other details. I will be calling back on a week day demanding to speak with a supervisor concerning this. I had 3 children in my car and had there not been a metal guardrail there to prevent the bus driver from further running us off the road we would have been flipped into a housing area.

First time on a day trip casino tour with D & F Travel. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Our driver, Ed, was friendly and courteous and did a great job getting us there and home again . . . and all on schedule. Brittany was the person I spoke with most while arranging for our trip. Both she and our driver were courteous and professional. I would definitely use this company again for a day trip. Perhaps even for an overnight sometime.

I have traveled several times with D & F Travel, always have enjoyed each well planned trip ! The NYC shopping is always been a favorite ! Will you be offering a NYC shopping tour this holiday season?

D & F Travel Tours is a locally owned and operated bus chartering company that has been around since 1986. I've had the opportunity to use D & F Travel for a number of years, taking day trips down to New York City. A number of years ago my mom and I would take the bus to NYC in December but most recently I went to NYC this past weekend (in October) for a little weekend alone time. Specifically for the day trips to NYC, D & F Travel offers a couple different pick up locations around Western New York. I picked it up at the Depew Polish Falcons Club at 445 Columbia in Depew around 1:00am. Having a seat to myself I sprawled out and fell into a deep slumber within twenty minutes or so. The bus driver made a stop around 5 or 6am but I needed my beauty sleep so I stayed on the bus. Around 7:30am we stopped for breakfast in New Jersey at Six Brothers Diner. Not too shabby. We were in the Big Apple by 9am. The bus driver, Russ, was awesome and made sure to let everyone know where and what time pick up would be. Smooth sailing! After a busy day walking all around NYC, Russ was right where he said he would be... and he was early! I was happy to see I could put down all my stuff and still grab a bottle of water before the trip back to Buffalo. Russ was a great bus driver, there was a bathroom on the bus, and D & F Travel even gives coupons and a map to those taking this bus trip. Never had any complaints doing the NYC day trip. Other trips that D & F offers are as follows: an overnight trip to the Big Apple, Grove City Outlet Shopping, various sporting events like trips to away Sabres games and even Yankees games, Pennsylvania trips, Georgia, and even a Texas trip at the time of this review. One of their drivers about sideswiped me and another car on the Interstate. Traveling 80 mph or better in a 65 mile an hour zone.

Lol good bus but no cup holders!!!! Annoying but good ride and we improvised the cup holder situation:)

My husband I just got back from Progressive Field. The driver Dean was smooth, swift and safe. We had great seats @ the stadium and would use this company again to take us to a game in Cleveland or on another adventure.

Took a turn around trip this weekend with my daughter dance team. Driver Gene was VERY unprofessional and rude kept mentioning the whole trip how tired he was and how he couldn't wait to get to hotel. It was only a 5 hr bus ride. Rushed the group every time we made a stop we had a bus of 56 people with children and parents all female and he gave us 5 mins to use the bathroom and was upset if it took longer turned off lights before we could even get a headcount to make sure everyone was on the bus. We provided the company with itinerary prior to the trip we were supposed to have to driver but only had 1. Our driver made it clear he was not gonna be able to pick us up from the event on time because he needed to SLEEPso we where stuck staying at a building with over 20 hungry children who had just got done competing in a dance competition for over 2 hours and 15 minutes. So unprofessional

Wish there was cup holders. Overall, nice ride but we're not there yet so keep you posted.

As a result, some of the airline check-in counters near the D18 security checkpoint will temporarily relocate. Customers flying on an international airline out of Terminal D will check their bag with their airline before being directed by airline staff to the bag drop-off area near the center of the lobby to complete the check-in process.

Job Opening: Sr. Corporate Travel Consultant | Remote, USA

The Senior Corporate Travel Consultant arranges travel for and provides travel support to all Optiv Executives and VIP Customers as well as Optiv employees for daily corporate travel. Meeting and Incentive Travel Management and VIP Services are primary to this role.

How you'll make an impact

Arrange and coordinate travel schedules and reservations for all employees, including Executives, and identify travel preferences. Including but not limited to airfare, hotel and transportation.

Schedule travel arrangements according to Corporate travel policies in a timely and professional manner using the Sabre GDS or similar GDS reservation system for all airfare, car rental and hotel bookings.

Arrange outside services not available via the Sabre GDS or similar GDS reservation system and provide VIP extras such as calendar invites and flight check-ins.

Maintain costs and work within established travel budgets and policies.

Maintain costs and manage budgets for meeting and incentive travel and track changes and expenses so that expenditures can be tracked and used for future budgeting.

Vendor negotiation skills required for negotiating transient rates and group/meeting rates.

Working with vendors to provide all meeting needs, including but not limited to set-up, AV, food and beverage needs and room blocks.

Assist with Concur bookings that require changes, Concur profiles that need updates or other general Concur travel related needs.

Book International travel and have a complete understanding of international rules and requirements for travel.

Assess fare rules and restrictions quickly and efficiently for last minute travel or travel changes and understand exchange functions for changes.

On-Board new team members to train them on processes of the Optiv Travel Team.

Research formats and functionally and train team members on new processes as needed.

Work an On-Call weekend rotation every 4-6 weeks

Work flexible hours as needed between 6am and 11pm CST Monday – Friday

Perform other duties as assigned

This position will ideally be hired within the Kansas City or Denver metro with the ability to go into the office as needed

What we're looking for

Bachelors Degree or Travel Industry Related Degree required.

Travel Certifications preferred.

10 or more years’ experience as a travel agent and/or corporate travel consultant required.

Experience and understanding of complex ticketing rules and fares for both Domestic and International travel, hotel and car bookings, and overall reservations procedures required.

10 or more years GDS experience, Sabre strongly preferred.

8 or more years of VIP or Executive Travel experience.

8 or more years of Group and Meeting Planning experience.

Must have an understanding of Budget Management

Must have an understanding of Concur Travel to assist with on-line bookings.

Proficiency with Outlook, Word and Excel required.

Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

Excellent problem solving skills to work through complex situations and offer fast and efficient solutions.

Able to manage multiple projects at the same time while also handling daily travel requests.

Able to work in a high intensity, fast paced environment required, ability to multi-task.

Exceptional organizational skills, detailed oriented and accurate in all areas of work required.

Flexibility-possibly accepting calls after hours or on the weekends for emergencies or last minute travel needs required.

Outstanding time management and organizational skills required.

Must be available to work an on-call rotation Friday – Sunday every 4-6 weeks.

Southwest Airlines is considering changes to its quirky boarding and seating practices

DALLAS (AP) — Southwest Airlines is studying changes to its quirky boarding and seating policies as it searches for ways to raise more revenue .

Airline officials say they are studying possible changes but won’t have anything to announce until September. That tease is leading to speculation about whether Southwest might ditch some longstanding traditions, including the practice of passengers picking their own seats only after they board a plane.

CEO Robert Jordan says he is proud of Southwest’s “product,” but it was developed when flights weren’t as full as they are today, and customers’ preferences change over time, prompting the “deep dive” into “transformational options” in boarding and seating.

“Early indications, both for our customers and for Southwest, look pretty darn interesting,” he told analysts and reporters Thursday.

Every other major U.S. airline sells first- or business-class seats with more room and amenities. They assign seats long before passengers arrive at the airport. And increasingly, they charge extra if economy-class passengers want to pick a particular seat, such as one in an exit row or near the front of the cabin.

Those policies generate significant “ancillary revenue.” Delta Air Lines took in $4.4 billion in “premium products” during the first quarter.

Southwest doesn’t have a first-class cabin or assigned seats. Passengers line up in the gate area in an order determined partly by who checked in first and – increasingly – who paid extra to move up in line . The lucky or high-paying ones get in the “A” boarding group, followed by the middling “B” crowd and finally the dreaded “C” group, whose unfortunate inhabitants usually wind up in a middle seat, maybe in the back of the plane.

Over the years, Southwest customers learned to check in online exactly 24 hours before departure to get the best shot at grabbing the seat they wanted. In 2009, the airline began charging an extra fee — called EarlyBird — to move up in the boarding line. The fee starts at $15 per flight but goes up when planes are full.

Jordan said any changes must generate significant new revenue and can’t slow down flights . Beyond that, he was deliberately and repeatedly vague, but executives did indicate that two possible changes have been ruled out already.

Ryan Green, Southwest’s chief commercial officer, said the airline won’t impose baggage charges — it’s the only U.S. carrier that lets passenger check one or two bags for free. He said Southwest also won’t install curtains like those that separate premium cabins from the economy-class section on other airlines.

Savanthi Syth, an airlines analyst with Raymond James Financial, said the lack of assigned seating is “a huge pain point for passengers,” although a shrinking contingent still likes it. Syth thinks passengers would prefer the ability to select a seat in advance to trying to get a better spot in the boarding line.

“More importantly, I think it opens you up to a greater pool of passengers that would not consider (Southwest) because of the stress of the current process,” she said. “This is particularly important now that Southwest has lost the differentiation of no change or cancellations fees.” Southwest’s closest rivals dropped change fees too during the pandemic.

Syth is less convinced that Southwest needs a first-class cabin, but she thinks adding extra-legroom seats could be attractive. “There are plenty of tall people who could use the extra space,” she said.

Southwest executives are frequently asked about changes in their policies around baggage, seating and first-class cabins. At an industry conference in November, Jordan said there was nothing in the works.

What changed?

Southwest’s financial results have become more dismal. The company reported Thursday that it lost $231 million in the first quarter, which was worse than analysts expected and a wider loss than a year ago.

The Dallas-based airline faces sharply rising labor costs — up 19% or $462 million from a year ago, and that was before flight attendants ratified a new contract with sharply higher wages. Spending on maintenance and airport fees are rising by double-digit percentages. And Southwest can’t add as many flights as it would like because a production crisis at Boeing means there are fewer new planes.

The company is freezing hiring other than critical positions, and it will take the rare step of pulling out of four airports in August to cut costs. Even with revenue rising on strong travel demand , the airline needs more to offset inflation.

The airline promises that whatever it decides, it won’t change Southwest’s unique character. That could be a tricky balancing act in the view of its many loyal customers. They must wait out the next several months.

“We are committed to a set of new strategic initiatives. I have hinted at boarding and seating and the cabin, and we’re going to share those with you at investor day” in September, Jordan told analysts.
