New Drive-Thru Safari near Louisville at Wilstem will open June 14, 2020

Have a unique day at Wilstem on their new drive-thru animal adventure. 

Wilstem is great for animal encounters. Our writers have been there and loved interacting with giraffes and elephants. Now, Wilstem is now offering drive-thru safari near Louisville because during this unique time, they have decided to innovate their offerings. Families love animal attractions and with a drive-thru option, you don’t have to worry about social distancing and touching shared surfaces.

For the self-guided rides through the drive-thru safari, the times are 9am-4pm EST. The last car can enter at 4pm. Seven days a week. They recommend that your secure tickets in advance (but remember, they are non-refundable).

What animals will you see? (not all guaranteed to be visible)

Children (3-12) – $14.00

Dutch Country Safari Park puts Amish businesses on the map in Hart County

HART COUNTY, Ky. (WBKO) - Imagine getting to experience a safari without having to leave the country?

A new map by Hart County Tourism is highlighting Amish-owned businesses.

Dutch Country Safari Park is a combination of a petting zoo and a drive-thru safari.

Recently Hart County Tourism released a new map that highlights 17 Amish businesses.

Sandra Wilson the Executive Director of the Horse Cave/Hart County Tourism says, “We have in Hart County, one of the largest Amish communities in the state, we have over 200 Amish families, and over 100 Amish businesses in the county, we picked out the businesses for the map that we thought tourists would like to go to.”

She also adds, “The reason we made this map was in response to a lot of requests from our tourists, my staff works that I-65 rest areas where 4 million people a year stop. And were getting overwhelming requests for information about our Amish businesses.”

Wilson also says it gives a good opportunity for tourists to get out in the country, and go visit the attractions, shops, or roadside markets and have a real Kentucky experience.

Safari Truck  Tours

-Our 1970s ex-military vehicles are outfitted with bull bars and undercarriage framing to protect our animals, and you!

-Our tour guides are not just drivers! They are well equipped and highly trained to handle any questions and any encounters with our wild animals. Education is important to us as it is to you - come prepared to  learn  about our animals from nose to tail!

-You will get up close and personal with over 100 wild animals on this hour long trek across 80 acres of Rolling Plains, Thick Fore sts and Deep Waters!

Louisville Mega Cavern and Imagine Exhibitions will take families on an adventure to learn how prehistoric dinosaurs evolved over time, where they lived, and other discoveries of paleontologists! Travel back in time to experience earthquakes and dinosaur battles while staying safely in the car for COVID times. As guests drive through Dino Safari, they will have an up-close-and-personal adventure, encountering dinosaurs like the Diplodocus and the terrifying T. rex. Visitors may just help save the life of a dinosaur along the way!

Dino Safari is the perfect COVID-safe experience for families to enjoy from the safety of their own vehicle, no matter what kind of weather Kentucky springs on us. Guests may pre-order tickets that will be scanned through their car window upon entrance to create a contactless experience.

“We are so excited to surprise and delight visitors with a dinosaur-filled experience. Families can join us for a safe COVID-friendly experience unlike anything Louisville Mega Cavern has ever seen,” stated Charles Park, Louisville Mega Cavern Executive Vice President. “We have the wonderful opportunity of partnering with Imagine Exhibitions, and our team is excited to welcome our dinosaur friends down under for the first time!”

Dino Safari was created alongside paleontologist Dr. Gregory Erickson. The experience will take visitors on an educational expedition to prehistoric times. Visitors will be guided through the fictional “Pangea National Park” with an audio tour (available in both English and Spanish). Guests will download a free app to access to access the audio guide while in the caves (details coming soon!). Each vehicle is given a “Survival Pack” which will contain your passport to Pangea with a scavenger hunt and other fun surprises along the way!

Louisville Mega Cavern is known throughout the country for its unique underground experiences, including Mega Zips, Mega Quest, and their highly anticipated Lights Under Louisville experience for the holidays, which boasts more than 5 million points of light and draws thousands of visitors per year. Wildlife Safari is a 610-acre Drive-Thru animal park. Driving your own vehicle, it takes about 1-1/2 hours to complete. You will receive a map of the park to enhance your experience and help identify animals with your admission. For the safety of our animals and yours, NO animals are allowed in the Safari Village nor the Wildlife Safari Drive Through. Wildlife Safari offers free onsite (unsupervised) kennels for pets, and sells locks for the kennels for a $5 fee at guest services, inside of the gift shop. It is recommended to bring a water bowl as well.

• Animal Enrichment Encounter tickets do not include drive-through admission, which is required to participate in Animal Enrichment Encounters.

The Cabot Cabin is a three-bedroom cabin that sleeps up to 10 people.

The Capone Cabin is nestled among the tree line.  Complete with two bedrooms which sleeps 6 people.

Outpost Cabin

The Outpost is our newest cabin, and close to Basecamp.  It's two bedrooms and sleeps 6.

Hagenbeck-Wallace Cabin

The Hagenbeck-Wallace Cabin is a three-bedroom cabin that sleeps up to 8 people.

Fuhs House is a five-bedroom house located next to the large barn, pool, and volleyball and basketball courts.  The Fuhs house is the perfect spot for a large family!  Sleeps up to 16 people.

Wilson Carriage House

The downstairs of the original Carriage House has been equipped with a studio-style rental unit, perfect for 2 people.

Louis Cabin

The Louis Cabin is one of our two-bedroom cabins, located on a level lot, which sleeps 6 people.

The Bunkhouse is our most secluded cabin.  It's two bedrooms and sleeps 4.

Ballard Annex

Located in the upstairs of the Lodge, this unit can be separate as a three-bedroom. Sleeps up to 30 people when booking the entire Lodge (A, B, and Annex).  Ballard Annex sleeps 8.

Barn Loft .

The Red Barn Loft is the perfect spot to host a family reunion, company party, or wedding.  Accommodates up to 250 people.

Drive Thru Safari

Eudora Wildlife Safari Park, home to over 300 exotic animals, is located in Salley, South Carolina.  Eudora Wildlife Safari Park allows you and your family to drive through the safari and see animals you normally don’t see every day.  All of the animals that live at Eudora Wildlife Safari have their most recent vaccines, and we are USDA inspected and approved.  Our 3 mile drive-thru safari park is the perfect experience that builds memories to last a lifetime.  We also allow you to hire our animals for birthdays and other special occasions.  As you drive thru the park, make sure to take a lot of pictures and share them to Facebook.  And if you see Mark, be sure to say “Hello!”.

We enjoyed our visit so much there last week! Animals are too cute running up to the vehicle wanting a snack 😊 It was the perfect day, sun was out, little breeze and warmth from the sun.

‘She saved my son’s life’: Taco Bell manager saves baby who stopped breathing in drive-thru

RICHBORO, Pa. (WPVI) - A family in Pennsylvania says they have a quick-thinking Taco Bell manager to thank for saving their child’s life.

Natasha Long says the situation started when her 11-week-old baby suddenly stopped breathing while she was in the drive-thru at the fast-food restaurant.

“It was the scariest moment of my entire life,” Long said.

The mother of two had just finished some errands and decided to grab food when she says she noticed baby Myles struggling for air in the back seat of the car.

“I pulled him out and he turned completely blue and was lifeless. At that point I just completely blacked out. I didn’t know what to do,” she said.

Fortunately, Long was in earshot of Taco Bell manager Becky Arbaugh, who heard the mother’s screams and quickly jumped in to give baby Myles CPR.

“I ran outside and took the baby,” Arbaugh said. “I then started to do chest compressions on the baby, and he finally started to breathe.”

Long said the manager appeared out of nowhere like a guardian angel.

According to Arbaugh, her own scares as a mother helped her prepare for a moment like this.

“When my kids were little, my daughter had similar incidents. So, I knew what she was feeling, and there was no thought in my mind that the baby wasn’t going to breathe again,” Arbaugh said.

Baby Myles did regain his breath and was rushed to Saint Christopher’s Hospital for treatment.

The next day Long said she called Taco Bell to thank Arbaugh, who she calls her hero.

“We couldn’t be more grateful to Becky. She saved my son’s life,” Long said.

Baby Myles remains in the hospital as doctors try to understand what happened to him.

Meanwhile, Long has been sending videos and pictures to Arbaugh -- who now has a deep bond with the family.
