Elbow will make a much anticipated and welcome return to Australia for four special shows. Fellow Brits and special guests, Bombay Bicycle Club, join Elbow on tour in what will be their first Australian shows. Tickets go on sale at 9am Tuesday December 6. Elbow's return visit follows quickly after four mesmerising performances last July, including sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney and a remarkable set at the Splendour in the Grass festival. Elbow have consistently delivered impeccable, brilliant live shows. "Elbow are as close to a perfect live band any punter could hope for..." Fasterlouder The band's graceful, lush orchestral sounds a gently sublime mix of the intricately elegant, poignant, and elative, rousing crescendos serve up stunning renditions from their five album repertoire. Up front, Guy Garvey fills the room with his angelic vocals, undeniable stage presence and natural charisma; his generous between song banter building a strong rapport between band and audience. "‘Open Arms' was triumphant, ‘Station Approach' possessed an almost hypnotic jubilation and set closing ‘One Day Like This' was positively euphoric." Inpress 2011 marks Elbow's 20 year anniversary and the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Build A Rocket Boys'. ‘Build A Rocket Boys' follows debut album ‘Asleep in the Back', ‘Cast of Thousands', ‘Leaders of the Free World' and their fourth album, the 2008 Mercury Music Prize winning ‘The Seldom Seen Kid'. North London's Bombay Bicycle Club, opening for Elbow on all shows, have released three albums in as many years. Winning a competition to perform at V Festival while still at school, the youthful band released their gold, debut album,‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose', in 2009. Wasting no time, a stripped down, acoustic, second album ‘Flaws', was released a year later making the UK top 10. ‘A Different Kind of Fix' is Bombay Bicycle Club's latest offering, cited as a their best record yet and a promise of more to come. The band have built a fiercely loyal UK fan base to which they're about to add a whole lot more Australians. Immerse in the sounds of Elbow, with special guests Bombay Bicycle Club.

Fantastic venue. Easy to park up and get away after the show. Perfect evening weather. Elbow were outstanding. A great evening all round

This concert was one of the Best if not the Best concert i have ever seen. It was Magical

Top Notch Show

So I went to this show because my hubby is a fan. I only knew two of the songs they played. But WHAT A GREAT SHOW! Enjoyed every song. Would highly recommend going to see them. Fantastic musicians. Lead singer knows how to engage audience without being obnoxious. Lighting and effects just right. They played for nearly 1 hour 45 mins. so it was a nice long show. The only drawbacks - lead singer used more profanity than I cared to hear. And we did not enjoy the warm up act.

Elbow is Amazing!

Amazing vocals, and the music, rhythm, the beat, the energy was the best I have ever heard. Elbow is so talented and the music they put out is magical!

One of the best around...

Elbow is one of the best live bands in the world and the 2020 performance was no exception. Guy Garvey controls the crowd like few others and the bands outpouring of love and soul was evident from the moment they walked onto the stage until the last note. They played old and new songs and everything sounded perfect. The Fox Theater in Oakland is one of, if not, THE premiere event venues in California if not the whole country. The sound was perfect, the atmosphere is amazing with the architecture, and the staff was friendly and helpful. An all around perfect night!

It was advertised as a "stripped back"show, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

For Elbow, this meant just the 4 members of the band, plus Alex Reeves on drums - none of the usual strings or brass normally found on tour with them, and no fancy back drops and lighting, just a fairly basic light show.

It was a fairly intimate gig in the O2 Ritz, something like 1500 people, and it was amazing! Guy Garvey comes across as the bloke next door who would find any excuse to go for a pint with you. Everyone is his friend.

They played 8 songs, 3 from the new album, and 5 from older albums - and they were amazing! They are great in the big arenas, but even better in a smaller venue!

Guy and the gang did not cease to amaze with pitch perfect vocals and brilliant interaction with the crowd. “Manchester harmony” he called it. The venue is amazing and just the right size with trains passing by to Deansgate. This causes a great response from the crowd and passengers all waving at each other.

My only negative is the sound curfew as it’s a built up area. I’m sure those all sat on their balconies getting it free wouldn’t complain. Well may be about Kylie the night after.

In all, a brilliant set list and performance from Manchester’s finest. Can’t wait for new album.

Elbow and John Grant, Magnificent I say.

My fist Elbow gig and also my first John Grant gig

Up first an eight song set by John Grant fizzling with good humour, swear words aplenty and that beautiful tenor voice Marz and Glacier were outstanding.

Elbow came on stage just after 8:30, Mr Garvey in 90’s handwaving top form, a little demob happy as this was the last gig for some time as he played master of ceremonies though Elbows greatest hits. The voice is just so pure as the music swells around his word pictures and his bro romance with John Grant is hilarious . The whole set was outstanding with light show and back screens to match.Disapointed that there was no sad captains, but the duet between Garvey and Grant made up for it. Loved little fictions, grounds for divorce, Lippy kids but hearing one day like this live for the first time made my night. Come back soon Elbow, until then I will throw those curtains wide.
