The Revivalists Announce 2023 Co-Headlining Tour with Band of Horses

In support of their upcoming album, Pour It Out Into the Night

The Revivalists have mapped out a 2023 North American tour in support of their upcoming album,  Pour It Out Into the Night . The trek is highlighted by co-headlining dates with  Band of Horses and The Head and The Heart.

The summer run will kick off on June 30th in Kansas City when The Revivalists team up with The Head and The Heart and make subsequent stops in Raleigh, North Carolina; Asbury Park, New Jersey; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and more. After that, the band will link up with Band of Horses for a joint run that will hit cities like Brooklyn, Boston, and Los Angeles before wrapping at Red Rocks in Colorado on September 14th. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 24th  at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . A Live Nation pre-sale will precede the public on-sale beginning on Thursday, February 23rd (use code CHORUS ). Alternatively, you can purchase tickets via Stubhub .

Pour It Out Into the Night is out on June 2nd via Concord Records and features the lead single, “Kid,” which you can stream below. It marks the follow-up to 2018’s  Take Good Care . Chautauqua Institution is thrilled to welcome eight-piece, soulful New Orleans-based rock band The Revivalists and Band of Horses to its 2023 summer concert lineup.

The Revivalists

The Revivalists capture the spirit of their home city in fresh new ways with a mix of funk, blues, classic rock and jazz. They’ve sold millions of records, and their single “Wish I Knew You” peaked at #1 on the Alternative Chart and was certified Platinum in 2018. The band has just announced that their new album Pour It Out Into The Night will come out on June 2nd and they have released the first single of the new album, “Kid”.  The Revivalists have thrilled crowds from coast to coast and you won’t want to miss the band’s vivacious, high-energy live performance at our iconic open-air Amphitheater on July 28. 

Band of Horses

There might be no other band that was able to channel the generational anxiety in those early millennial years and turn it into such powerful and inclusive art quite like Band of Horses. Band of Horses fashioned gorgeously ragged epics, Ben Bridwell’s high-flying vocals and eccentric enunciation floating like a specter that felt like prelude to a dream. Full of profundity, truth and sometimes just homespun advice on how to live, Band of Horses songs have become anthems and touchstones for fans.

Chart-topping rock band The Revivalists have announced their North American summer tour, including co-headline dates with The Head and The Heart beginning June 30th with support from Jaime Wyatt (on most dates) followed by co-headline dates with Band Of Horses beginning July 28th with support from The Heavy Heavy (on select dates). After the run wraps up at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on September 10th, The Revivalists will return for their anticipated Red Rocks show in Colorado on September 14.

The Revivalists just released their new lead single “ Kid ” with an accompanying music video and have announced their fifth studio album Pour It Out Into The Night set for release on June 2 via Concord Records. “Kid” is a hopeful anthem invoking the zest for life, self-belief, catharsis and “living for the spirit now” as the song declares. Directed by Johnny Chew, the graffiti-inspired music video features artful, eye-popping stop-motion animation of the band against a backdrop that pays homage to the architectural and artistic aesthetics that define the band’s home of New Orleans.

With an infectious melody and piano peeking through bright acoustic guitar, intricate layers of the band’s distinctive instrumentation power a euphoric chantable chorus: “Hey kid / Just sing the songs that wake the dead then / You keep them ringing in your head, yeah / You gotta get it off your chest / Don’t worry about the mess.”

“Kid” introduces Pour It Out Into The Night, a life-affirming album about living in the moment that offers both an unburdening and an appreciation for the here and now, fueled by lessons in gratitude and life realizations. As the world came to a standstill in the years since their last album, Take Good Care, personal experiences and life challenges abounded, with band members having their first children, getting married, and navigating the mental hurdles of lockdown. The band’s process for this record was the most self-guided one yet, and was produced by GRAMMY Award-winning producer Rich Costey [Muse, Foster the People, Death Cab for Cutie] with co-production from David, Zack, and the rest of the band.

In addition to the band’s newly announced dates, the eight-piece collective will bring their epic live show to several upcoming festivals including a big hometown set at New Orleans JazzFest in April and Bonnaroo in June. They will play their Jazz Fest headline show at The Fillmore in New Orleans on April 28.

The Revivalists are hoping to pour it all out into the band’s performance at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Amphitheater.

“It’s kind of one of the things that we do best as a band,” said Zack Feinberg, guitarist for the chart-topping group. “It’s very high-energy, it’s exciting, it’s stimulating to be in these fun, cool places.”

On the heels of releasing its fifth studio album, Pour It Out Into The Night , the eight-piece rock group is on an extensive North America tour. The album is the band’s first release since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which gave the members much to reflect on while writing and recording Pour It Out Into The Night .

“It’s the culmination of years of songwriting, and personal experiences and growth,” Feinberg said.

He described the album as being “very honest” about those experiences. He and vocalist David Shaw wrote the lead single, “Kid,” during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, while Feinberg’s now-fiancé was one month pregnant with twins. An anthem of hope amid chaos, the song’s chorus reminds listeners to “just sing the songs that wake the dead” and “don’t worry about the mess” while “living for the spirit.”

Though the band is based out of New Orleans, Feinberg is not quick to label the group with the Big Easy sound – but the city certainly leaves an impact on its music. The band wrote the song “Good Old Days” with a message of gratitude after spending an “incredible carnivalesque” Mardis Gras together in 2018.

“New Orleans is such an incredibly expressive musical town,” he said. “The talent is amazing and ridiculous in this city of working musicians, but then there’s also this culture of music that’s part of the place, and it has been for a long time.”

Despite being a rock band, The Revivalists’ wide range reflects the storied ensembles of New Orleans – with eight members, its performances feature a horn section, pedal steel guitar, drummers and an “absolute monster” lead singer in Shaw.

Seattle-based Band of Horses will join a large stretch of the group’s tour, including tonight in Chautauqua. Rolling Stone has described the group as a “blend of spooky Southern rock and shoegazer indie pop.”

The band has long captured generational anxiety in its music, which culminated in a Grammy nomination in 2011 for the album Infinite Arms .

“We’re super honored to be sharing the stage with them,” Feinberg said. “They’re  a fantastic band that we’ve been fond of for many, many years.”

Being on a stage is not something he takes for granted since the pandemic, he said. The band had to cancel or postpone several tour dates after the release of its last album, Made In Muscle Shoals , in January 2020.

“We’re super grateful to be doing it, and it’s all been really special,” he said. “Not that it wasn’t before, but we have a renewed appreciation for playing live these years.”

This summer, the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, California, is set to host an indie rock extravaganza featuring sensational bands, The Revivalists and their special guests Band of Horses! The Revivalists are set to headline this much-awaited concert on Thursday, 31st August 2023, as part of their massive outing, titled the Pour It Out Into the Night Tour. The show at the Greek Theatre is part of an extensive trek covering 32 major cities. It is held to promote The Revivalists' upcoming album set for release this summer! Eight-member indie rock outfit, The Revivalists made their breakthrough in 2015 upon releasing their third effort, Men Amongst Mountains. The album entered Billboard’s Top Alternative albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It also spawned the double platinum single “Wish I Knew You,” which entered five Billboard charts, including the Hot 100. Moreover, the single topped the Adult Alternative Airplay and Hot Alternative Songs charts. The band’s incredible breakthrough led to a highly-anticipated fourth album, Take Good Care, dropped in 2018. The record became the band’s first effort to enter the Billboard 200 and entered the Alternative chart’s Top 10. Take Good Care featured the number 1 Adult Alternative Airplay single, “All My Friends,” which also made waves in the international chart.

Earlier this year, The Revivalists dropped the lead single, “Kid,” from their upcoming album. Frontman David Shaw expounded that the song is about capturing the essence of life. “We all go through ups and downs. Sometimes, we don’t believe in ourselves. We’ve got skeletons in the closet trying to drag us down. But you’ve got to believe in yourself.” The band’s upcoming effort, Pour It Out Into the Night, will be released this June via Concord Records.

For their show at the Greek Theater Berkeley, The Revivalists will be joined by Band of Horses, who’s also promoting their latest effort, Things Are Great. The album has been preceded by singles “Crutch,” “In Need of Repair,” and “Lights.” In 2006, Band of Horses debuted with the hit single “The Funeral. The song was named one of the greatest songs of the 2000s by Pitchfork.

Spoon Announces North American Tour in 2024

Indie rock band Spoon is kicking off a decent run of tour dates throughout the United States and Canada this year, and they’re not going alone. The tour will feature a few fantastic supporting and to-support acts, including St. Vincent, A Giant Dog, The Revivalists, and Phantogram for select dates. The August-September trek will take the band (and friends) across both coasts and a couple of dates in Ontario.

The first stop on the Spoon 2024 Tour will be on August 8 in Bend, Oregon at Hayden Homes with St. Vincent. The final date of the tour will be September 18 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at Roxian Theatre with support from A Giant Dog.

Tickets to this tour are available through Spoon’s website . There are also a few tour dates on Ticketmaster where fans can access the artist presale event. General on-sale will begin on April 12 at 10:00 am local. If tickets sell out on the band’s site and Ticketmaster, give Stubhub a try. You might just find tickets to sold-out concert dates, and potentially at a lower price than face value. What do you have to lose?
