Gilby Clarke is selling his Guns N’ Roses, Slash’s Snakepit and Heart gear on Reverb

G ilby Clarke has launched a Reverb store featuring a “cache of beautiful gear the guitarist used in the studio and on tour with Guns N' Roses, Heart, and more.”

The guitarist – who replaced Izzy Stradlin in GNR during the Use Your Illusion tour in 1991 – has listed over 60 items, including mint condition guitars, guitar amps , and stomped-on effects pedals.

Two standout listings include a custom-made ESP Telecaster-style guitar, modeled after Clarke's much-loved '68 Telecaster , and a pristine condition 1975 Gretsch White Falcon. Notably, the ESP was used by Clarke during his Guns N’ Roses and Slash's Snakepit days, and also starred in the former's performances of Wild Horses .

There's another Snakepit axe in the form of an ESP Custom Shop Hybrid II that Clarke played on the Late Show with David Letterman . It features a bridge humbucker and a “typical Fender-style” neck pickup. 

“It's an interesting combo,” says the listing, “but it sounds great.”

There are several Fender amps listed, including a Deluxe combo and multiple Bassman heads, though the one that Clarke used during Heart's '03 tour has already sold. 

18 pedals had also been put up for sale, but they have already been sold. The list included a Dunlop 535Q Cry Baby, an Electro-Harmonix Screaming Bird, and a Coffin Case BDFX-1 Blood Drive “used on many recordings in Gilby's studio.” 

If blowing your life savings on a '70s Thinline Tele isn't your bag, cheaper listings still available include a Kustom '72 Coupe ($690) – because who doesn't want an amp on wheels?! – and a signed poster ($400).

Former GUNS N' ROSES Guitarist GILBY CLARKE Is Selling Gear Via REVERB

The official Gilby Clarke Reverb shop is now open for business. In the shop, you'll find beautiful guitars and other gear that Gilby Clarke has used over the course of his long career.

Clarke rose to acclaim in the hard rock scene, starting his career in the '80s as a guitarist in the Polygram Records band CANDY . Gilby then went on to form KILL FOR THRILLS , for which he was the main songwriter, singer, and guitarist. In 1991, during the "Use Your Illusion" tour, Clarke started playing live with GUNS N' ROSES after Izzy Stradlin left the band.

GUNS N' ROSES led into the beginning of a long, fruitful solo career that has still been peppered with excellent collaborations — SLASH'S SNAKEPIT , HEART and Nancy Sinatra are just some of the names that Clarke has also played with.

Now, the rocker is ready to part with some of the gear that's been used in these studios and on stages all over the world.

The official Gilby Clarke Reverb shop has a cache of beautiful gear the guitarist used in the studio and on tour with GUNS N' ROSES , HEART and more, including:

* A beautiful custom-made ESP Telecaster that was modeled after Clarke 's own '68 Telecaster. Clarke used this guitar during the GUNS N' ROSES and SLASH'S SNAKEPIT years, as well as for his solo projects. It can be seen in the "Wild Horses" videos Clarke and Slash did together.

* A 1975 Gretsch White Falcon

* A 1970 Fender Telecaster Thinline

* Merch, including a few custom leather jackets. One lucky fan will also be able to snag a signed and framed show poster from the Oakland, California date of the GUNS N' ROSES / METALLICA stadium tour that Clarke was a part of.

Clarke replaced Stradlin in the GUNS lineup in 1991, during the "Use Your Illusion" tour, and stayed with the band for three years. After exiting GUNS N' ROSES , Clarke continued as a producer and solo artist, while also playing in SLASH'S SNAKEPIT , ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA , HEART and other acts.

Clarke , along with fellow GUNS N' ROSES members Slash , Duff McKagan , Steven Adler and Matt Sorum , played three "Appetite For Destruction" songs with Myles Kennedy at the band's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony in April 2012 in Cleveland, Ohio, although Gilby himself was not inducted as part of the group. Kennedy , who handles lead vocals in Slash 's solo band and ALTER BRIDGE , sang "Mr. Brownstone" , "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City" , with "Use Your Illusion" -era member Sorum sitting behind the drum kit on "Brownstone" and the man he replaced in GN'R , Adler , pounding the skins for the other two songs.

In 2021, Clarke addressed his non-participation in GUNS N' ROSES ' reunion tour, which features three-fifths of the group's classic lineup — singer Axl Rose , Slash and McKagan — during an interview with "The SDR Show" . He said: "They didn't ask me to join the band; they asked me to come out and do [a guest appearance] with the band. And it just happened to be the day that I was in Chicago with my daughter. Her band was playing Lollapalooza [in July 2016]. And I'm actually her roadie. I don't think anybody would know how to tune the guitar if I wasn't there. Just kidding. But, yeah, it was just bad timing. I just said, 'Look, I think it's a great idea. I'm up for it. I just can't do it today.' And they literally asked me that day. And I never heard back from them after I said that."

Gilby also confirmed that he only had a week to learn the entire GUNS catalog when he first joined the band three decades ago. "That's true," he said. "They told me on a Monday, that 'You have the gig,' and the next week we were flying to Boston for our first show. And I literally had a week. And remember, this is before YouTube . I was glued to their records with the headphones on, trying to learn the catalog. And the last song I learned was a song called 'Estranged' , which was a really long ballad piece. And if you listen to it, it's kind of one-dimensional guitar-wise — it really just features Slash . So I was listening to it, and I really couldn't figure out what I should do in that song. So I went to Dizzy [ Reed , GUNS keyboardist]. I go, 'Hey, man, can you sit down with me, and let's work on 'Estranged' .' I go, 'I just wanna kind of figure it out.' And he goes, 'Oh, well, here's the music book.' And he handed me the music book. And I went, 'There's a music book? I just spent a week learning every note by ear when I could have just grabbed the freakin' music book…' I mean, I read charts — it would have taken me an hour. I was a little pissed off that I didn't ask. They could have offered it to me."

Clarke 's latest solo album, "The Gospel Truth" , was released in April 2021 via Golden Robot Records .

Gilby released his solo debut, "Pawnshop Guitars" , in 1994.

Guns N' Roses pulled off greatest comeback tour of past decade: Study Back to video

According to research done by online casino spingenie.ca, Guns ‘N Roses top the top 10 greatest comeback tours of the past decade.

GNR’s Not in this Lifetime Tour started in 2016 and had 175 shows at 159 venues with 136,220 Google searches, 254 TikTok posts and 157,521 Instagram posts for a final winning score of 8.95 out of 10.

Canadian content among the top 10 came in the form of Stratford, Ont.’s Justin Bieber, who tied with the Jonas Brothers for second place overall.

Bieber’s 2022 Justice World Tour had 49 dates at 44 venues, 532,890 Google searches (the most of all), the most featured comeback tour on Tiktok with 24,863 posts and 75,070 Instagram posts for an overall score of 8.67 out of 10.

To find out which artists had the greatest comeback tours of the past decade, spingenie.ca included 22 tours all kicking off in 2014 or later. (Any ongoing tours were not included as their data would be incomplete.)

The factors were the number of dates in each tour, the number of venues visited, the number of Google searches each tour saw in the past four years (this was all the available data) and the number of posts on TikTok and Instagram.
