Some art treasures in Hanover do not hang in museums or galleries, but can be found on house walls and facades. Graffiti and street art are an integral part of everyday life in Hannover.

Public art has traditionally been a high priority in Lower Saxony's capital. More than 200 sculptures, sculptures and installations enrich the city area. Among them are the world-famous sculptures by the French-American artist Niki De Saint Phalle. The "Red Thread", which guides visitors to 36 sights throughout the city, also runs along her "Nanas".

In Hanover art permeates everyday life. The city and also the citizens support the spread of street art and graffiti in the neighborhoods. Instead of removing them like elsewhere, some homeowners even commission the colorful works of art. They thus enrich the streetscape, are eye-catchers and inspire people anew every day.

Always after public art

For the modern art form, the city of Hanover has specially designed three tour suggestions that lead visitors to the most beautiful, funniest and most impressive graffiti in the city. List, Linden and Nordstadt are explored.

List: Art and cookies

At the List tour we pass the factory gate of the Bahlsen baked goods factory. There, a picture of a giant cookie monster is emblazoned, about to eat the letters of the company's name. Also on display: a golden Leibniz cookie - an allusion to the theft of the golden landmark in January 2013.

A few streets away, on Welfenplatz, sprayers can let off steam. The old air-raid shelter looks correspondingly colorful and wild here: Painted all over with colorful lettering, pictures and comics, the concrete surfaces are now a real eye-catcher. You stop, let it sink in for a while and keep discovering new details.

Linden: Graffiti and philosophy

Graffiti and street art are also very present on the other side of the Leine, in the Linden district. Again and again, pedestrians stop to marvel at the creativity of the artists who shape the district with their works. Be it the portrait of the German-Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt on the facade of her birthplace in Falkenstrasse, or Struckmeyerstrasse, where there is hardly a house without graffiti.

Over a period of two months, street artist Joy Lohmann immortalized Hannover's historical milestones on the façade of a house on Grotestraße: The Kröpcke clock, the founding of Hannover 96, the invention of the Bahlsen cookie or the construction of the old market hall can be found on the approximately 100 square meter mural - history in passing!

Nordstadt: Colorful shopping experiences

In Nordstadt, the store owners also rely on colorful facades. For example, everyone in Gerhardstraße knows the music store simply because of its colorful facade, which is dominated by a giant trumpet player. At the baby store on Kornstraße, too, it's immediately clear what's inside. Flowers, bees and the sun on the sky-blue house wall provide the ideal eye-catcher. Other artistic works can be found on many other corners in Linden, such as the mysterious man with a hat in Asternstraße or the fantastic underwater world in Kopernikusstraße.

With its tolerant approach to graffiti and street art, Hannover proves how much these art forms can enrich a city. If they are allowed, works of lasting value are created that appeal to many people and lend a special flair to entire streetscapes. Hanover's murals make the city more colorful and exciting - and thus a little more attractive for a visit.

Streetart & Graffiti in Hannover: ultimativer Guide für die schönsten Murals und die besten Artspots

Werbung | Hannover läuft als Ziel für Städtereisen oft unter dem Radar. Das gilt auch in Bezug auf die Streetart- und Graffiti-Szene, denn neben unzähligen Murals, Graffiti oder sonstiger Streetart, feiern Graffiti-Enthusiast:innen in der niedersächsischen Hauptstadt jedes Jahr sogar gleich zwei Streetart-Festivals! Im August war ich auf einem davon: dem Urban Nature. Nebenbei habe ich mich mit dem Fahrrad auf die Suche nach den schönsten Murals und Graffiti sowie den besten Artspots in der Stadt gemacht. Und da gab es einiges zu entdecken …

Lieblings-Murals in Hannover

Streetart erklärt sich am besten, indem man sie zeigt, deswegen starte ich meinen ultimativen Graffiti-Guide für Hannover mit meinen Lieblingsmurals – ohne Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit. Denn leider habe ich auch nach mehreren Besuchen noch nicht alle gesehen. Bei Murals handelt es sich dabei um meist großflächige „Gemälde“ an Häuserwänden. Inzwischen entstehen sie oft auf legale Weise und werden zum Teil sogar öffentlich gefördert oder finanziert, denn viele Städte haben den Mehrwert von Streetart inzwischen erkannt. Am besten gelingt die Streetart-Tour mit dem Fahrrad. In dem Kontext findest du ganz am Ende einen Hoteltipp, bei dem die Bikes inklusive sind! Los geht’s:

Krümelmonster

Mein absolutes Lieblings-Mural befindet sich am Tor des Hinterhofs der Firma Bahlsen, die aus Hannover kommt. Es handelt sich um eine Auftragsarbeit. Mit dem Leibniz-Keks spielt das Bild auf einen Vorfall an, bei dem vor ein paar Jahren der goldene Leibniz-Keks der Firma gestohlen wurde. Gegen ein Lösegeld, das in Keksen bezahlt wurde, konnte er aber zurückgewonnen werden. Das Mural erfreut sich seit seiner Entstehung großer Beliebtheit.

Inside Yourself

Dieses wunderschöne Mural gefällt mir genauso gut wie das Krümelmonster, nur auf ganz andere Art. Es ist 2017 zum Streetart Sommer entstanden und spiegelt durch die bunten und kräftigen Farben die Lebensfreude des brasilianischen Künstlers wider. Wenn du schon mal da bist: Gegenüber, ebenfalls im Engelborsteler Damm findest du das Stück „Hola Utopia!“ zum gleichnamigen Streetart-Festival von Rookie.

Mural Inside Yourself

Seifenblasenmädchen

Ein ebenfalls bezauberndes Mural ist das großflächige Bild, in dessen Zentrum dieses Mädchen ist, das gerade Seifenblasen macht. Das Mural geht sogar noch um die Häuserecke und ist – mit parkenden Autos davor – etwas schwer in einem Foto zu erfassen. Im rechten Bildausschnitt findet sich noch ein schwimmender Mops. 

Ebenfalls bezaubernd: das Mural vom Mädchen mit den Seifenblasen.

Mit Unterstützung der lokalen Streetart-Künstlerin Mansha Friedrich konnte für dieses großflächige Mural die Spanierin Lula Goce gewonnen werden. Beauftragt wurde sie von der Bau- und Immobilienfirma Gundlach, die auch für einige andere Motive in der Stadt verantwortlich ist. Das Bild sticht durch das markante, halbe fotorealistische Frauengesicht hervor. Auch ein Seemonster und florale Elemente spielen eine Rolle. Goce ist dabei mit Pinsel und Sprühdose unterwegs.

Mit Clowns ist es ein bisschen wie mit Haien: ein einziger Film hat ihr Image ruiniert. Auch mein Verhältnis zu Clowns ist seit „Es“ gespalten. Nichtsdestotrotz darf dieses großflächige Mural in keiner Top-Graffiti-Liste für Hannover fehlen. Die Hauswand und die Kosten wurden wieder von Gundlach übernommen.

Drei warme Brüder

Das Szeneviertel Linden ist ein besonders beliebter Stadtteil Hannovers. Wahrzeichen von Linden wiederum ist das markante Bauwerk des Heizkraftwerks bestehend aus den drei „Blöcken“, die unten auf dem Bild zu sehen sind. Von den Lindener:innen wird es liebevoll „die drei warmen Brüder“ genannt. Sie stehen für die Werte dieses Stadtteils: Offenheit und Toleranz. Wenig verwunderlich also, dass es auch in Graffiti- und Streetart-Werken in der Stadt auftaucht. So auch auf diesem Bild, das allerdings leider schon gecrosst worden ist. „Crossen“ nennt man es, wenn ein: Sprayer:in das Werk eines:einer anderen beschmiert oder übersprüht. Es zeugt von mangelndem Respekt gegenüber Werk oder Künstler:in.

Kurt Schwitters

Dieses Mural zu Ehren des in Hannover geborenen Künstlers Kurt Schwitters enthält diverse Hinweise auf sein Leben und Werk, zum Beispiel den Satz „Das Leben ist eine herrliche Erfindung … man sollte sich ein Patent darauf geben lassen“ (letzteres an der Tür), das „da/da/da/da“ an der hier offenen Tür als Hinweis auf den Dadaismus oder das Wort „Merz“ als Verweis auf das dadaistische Gesamtweltbild, das er einst unter diesem Begriff entwickelt hat. Schwitters gehörte im frühen 20. Jahrhunderts zu den prägenden Künstlern Deutschlands. Das Portrait im Zentrum des Murals ist fotorealistisch, und während sich auf der Tür und dem Rahmen auch schon andere Graffiti-Sprayer verewigt haben, ist das mittelgroße Hauptmural bisher nicht gecrosst worden.

Graffito zu Ehren von Kurt Schwitters

Girl with Balloon

Dieses kleine Stencil ist eines der bekanntesten Streetart-Motive überhaupt. Ein Stencil ist ein Motiv, das mit Hilfe von einer oder mehreren Schablonen gesprüht wurde. Das Motiv stammt vom legendären Graffiti-Künstler Banksy. Ob das Mädchen mit dem Herz-Luftballon in Hannover von ihm persönlich ist, bleibt zu bezweifeln.  Dieser Vielleicht-Banksy befindet sich schon seit Jahren auf dem kleinen Stromkasten vor der Stadtmauer. Wie du sehen kannst, sind schon ein paar Tags und Aufkleber (Sticker) dazugekommen. Tags gehören zu den ursprünglichsten Ausdrucksformen im Graffiti. Es handelt sich dabei um einfache Schriftzeichen.

Frau und Schwan

Dieses mittelgroße Mural ist das neueste Kunstwerk in der kleinen Kollektion hier. Es ist eine Gemeinschaftsarbeit zweier Künstler aus Bristol, eine der Partnerstädte Hannovers, und im Rahmen des Streetart-Festivals Urban Nature im August 2022 am Ihme-Zentrum entstanden. Obwohl die Motive in keinerlei inhaltlicher Interaktion stehen, ergeben sie aufgrund der verwendeten harmonierenden Farben ein stimmiges Gesamtbild.

Alte Dame mit Kopftuch

Dieses Mural ist vom hannoverschen Streetart-Künstler Kartel, den ich schon von meinem Besuch des Festivals Streetart-Meile in Einbeck kenne (hier findest du meinen Blogbeitrag über Streetart und Fachwerk in Einbeck ). Kartels Werke erkennst du schon allein wegen der wenigen, kräftigen Farben, die er immer einsetzt: das dunkle, fast schon rötliche Blau und das kräftige Rot. Weiße Flächen und einen skizzenhafte Sprühdosenführung spielen ebenfalls eine Rolle. Kartel möchte dabei die Menschen mit seiner Kunst zum Nachdenken bringen. Hannah Arendt: Niemand hat das Recht zu gehorchen

Dieses Mural zeigt die deutsch-jüdische Historikerin und politische Philosophin Hannah Arendt und befindet sich an ihrem Geburtshaus. Es besteht aus kreisförmigen regionalen Motiven im Tunnel von Bener1 und einem gesprühten Portrait von Bener1 und seinem Atelier-Partner Kevin Lasner von Koarts. Graffiti vom inzwischen freischaffenden Künstler Bener1, der seit 1998 in der Szene aktiv ist, kenne ich bereits von der Streetart-Meile in Einbeck (hier findest du meinen Blogbeitrag über Streetart und Fachwerk in Einbeck ).

Hannovers Kunst im öffentlichen Raum: jenseits von Streetart & Graffiti

Auch abseits von klassischen Graffitis und Streetart in all seinen Spielarten hat Hannover viele sehenswerte Kunstwerke im öffentlichen Raum. Die Skulpturenmeile besteht beispielsweise aus mehr als 200 Werken!

Ein Wahrzeichen Hannover steht seit 1974 am anderen Ufer der Leine: die Nanas von Niki de Saint Phalle. Waren die drei üppigen Statuen am Leibnizufer bei ihrem Bau höchst umstritten, sind sie heute gar nicht mehr wegzudenken und gehören zu Hannovers Skulpturenmeile. Immer samstags findet um die Nanas herum übrigens Deutschlands ältester Flohmarkt statt.

Bunt, völlig und auf jeden Fall gute Laune machend: die drei Nanas von Niki de Saint Phalle am Leibnizufer.

DJ Gullyman

Hannovers schrulligste Sehenswürdigkeit befindet sich in Sichtweite vom Hauptbahnhof in diesem Gully: DJ Gullyman . In Hannovers wohl berühmtesten Gully legt er ununterbrochen auf.  Zwei CD-Player arbeiten hier im Schichtbetrieb, damit aus zwei Lautsprechern non-stop zur Jahreszeit oder zum Anlass passende Musik erklingt. Mach dich mal auf die Suche! Diese Straßenkunst ist kostenlos, auch wenn du selten zufällig über sie stolpern wirst, denn sie ist ja akustischer Natur! Also, hinhören lohnt sich!

Drachen an der Ihme

Die 300-kg-schwere Drachenskulptur wurde Ende 2020 am UJZ Glocksee aufgestellt. 4,70 m hoch soll sie als freundlicher Geist dem unabhängigen Jugendzentrum Glocksee dienen. Eigentlich ist sie ein „ Naga „, also ein schlangenartiger Schutzgott, der seinen Ursprung in der indischen Mythologie hat.

Liebesampeln

An mindestens vier Standorten in Hannover gibt es diese und ähnliche händchenhaltende grüne Ampelmenschen, seit 2020 als Zeichen der Offenheit der Stadt auch in homosexuellen Konstellationen. Auch ein Herzsymbol ist zu sehen. Augen auf also auch an Ampeln, sonst könntest du diese reizenden Pärchen verpassen.

Lieblingsampel: Händchenhaltende grüne Ampfelmännchen mit Herz

Ein Streetart-Kuriosum sind diese ca. 20-cm-hohen Kirschen . Rot leuchtend, aus Holz und oft an schwer erreichbaren Stellen tauchten die Früchte vor ein paar Jahren plötzlich überall an Häuserwände geklebt auf und niemand wusste, woher und weshalb. Achte mal auf die Kirschen, wenn du in Hannover unterwegs bist!

Die kleinen Streetart-Kirschen sind sogenannte Styrocuts.

Neun außergewöhnliche Bushaltestellen, die „Busstops“, bildeten 1994 den Abschluss des Programms „Kunst im öffentlichen Raum“ der Stiftung Niedersachsen in Hannover. Die Idee:  Die Wartezeit sollte von den Fahrgästen nicht länger als verlorene Zeit gesehen werden. Vielmehr sollten sie sie als „kurze Ruhe an einem besonderen Ort“ empfinden, heißt es auf der Tourismus-Website der Stadt . Umgesetzt wurde diese Vision von international renommierten Designer:innen wie Gehry, Sottsass oder Morrison. Herausgekommen ist eine vielseitige Kollektion, die alles andere ist als die ansonsten sehr profanen Wartehäuschen, die wir alle nur allzu gut kennen. Teil dieser Sammlung ist auch der unten abgebildete, von dem 2019 verstorbenen italienischen Architekten Alessandro Mendini kreierte Busstop. Ein wenig an ein Legogebäude erinnert die Haltestelle am Steintor. Sie ist 20 m lang und mit goldenen Kegeltürmen verziert. Die überdehnte Torform könnte man wohl als Dackel unter den Bushaltestellen bezeichnen. Sehenswert!

Die besten Orte für Streetart und Graffiti in Hannover

Wenn man einen Ort zum ersten Mal bereist, kann es manchmal schwer sein, gute Orte für Streetart und Graffiti ausfindig zu machen. Deswegen hier meine Tipps für alternative Orte mit Streetart-Garantie:

Kulturzentrum Faust

Das → Kulturzentrum Faust ist einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsorte in Hannover. Dank zwei Reiseblogger-Kolleginnen habe ich ihn vor einiger Zeit entdeckt. Denn es ist kein Ort, in den du zufällig hineinspazierst. Das Kulturzentrum Faust ist ein soziokulturelles Stadtteilzentrum in einem alten Fabrikgelände. Schon das Bauwerk der ehemaligen Bettfedernfabrik hat mich fasziniert. Noch besser hat mir gefallen, dass er voller Streetart und Graffiti ist. In den Gebäuden sind Vereine und Künstler:innen untergebracht, und es gibt diverse Veranstaltungen. Ein toller alternativer Ort in Hannover! Neben Kunst findest du dort auch den  Biergarten Gretchen (Adresse: Zur Bettfedernfabrik 3), wo du sehr gut einen Sommernachmittag verbringen kannst.

Ihme-Zentrum

Das Ihme-Zentrum ist eine brutalistische Bausünde aus den 1970-Jahren direkt am Fluss Ihme. Von der Idee her, ist es eine bisschen wie die Grüne Zitadelle in Magdeburg von Friedensreich Hundertwasser: eine Stadt in der Stadt zu schaffen, oben Wohnungen, unten Geschäfte und Freizeitangebote. Das mit den Wohnungen hat wohl auch gut funktioniert, nur von den Einrichtungen in den unteren Etagen fehlt jede Spur. Der Gebäudekomplex ist dementsprechend heruntergekommen und im Laufe der Jahre zu einem alternativen Ort geworden.

Mein Tipp für Streetart und vor allem Graffiti: das Ihme-Zentrum

Wenig verwunderlich also, dass sich hier die Graffiti- und Streetart-Szene sehr wohl fühlt. 2022 hat im bzw. am Ihme-Zentrum das Streetart-Festival „Urban Nature“ stattgefunden. Für Freund:innen von alternativen Orten und von Streetart lohnt der Ort einen ausgiebigen Besuch. Am besten bist du dort zu Fuß unterwegs, dann kannst du dich treiben lassen und spontan auch mal Treppen hoch, Treppen runter schlendern.

Unabhängiges Jugendzentrum Glocksee

Diese hannoversche Institution feiert 2022 ihren 50. Geburtstag. Das UJZ Glocksee , kurz Glocke genannt, liegt in der Calenberger Neustadt und betreibt vor allem Kinder- und Jugendarbeit. Mit dem Theater an der Glocksee , einem Café und dem Indiego verfügt es über drei Veranstaltungsorte, die beispielsweise für Konzerte genutzt werden.

Zu den Einrichtungen des Glockseegeländes gehören daneben eine Turnhalle, eine Halfpipe, eine Dirtbahn, ein Kinderladen, ein Lückeladen sowie ein Hort. Über dem ganzen Gelände verteilt findest du Hannover-Streetart und -Graffiti in jeder erdenklichen Form. Das bekannteste Kunstwerk ist inzwischen sicher die Drachenskulptur „Naga“, die ich dir oben schon vorgestellt habe. Gerade, wenn du mit der Familie unterwegs bist, ist das UJZ Glocksee ein interessanter Ort. Neben der Turnhalle befindet sich ein Spielplatz. Gut kombinieren lässt er sich mit dem Ihme-Zentrum direkt gegenüber. Die beiden sind praktischerweise auch mit einer Fußgängerbrücke über die Ihme verbunden.

Linden ist in Hannover der Stadtteil mit der höchsten Streetart- und Graffiti-Dichte. Los geht es mit dem Ihme-Zentrum, dem Heizkraftwerk, den drei warmen Brüdern, und diesem Mural an einem Ende der Limmerstraße, wo du ohnehin unzählige Graffiti und Murals findest:

Hannover-Insidertipp: Das gibt es nur Hannover-Linden, genauer gesagt auf der Limmerstraße. Sie hat ihr eigenes Wort und die dazugehörige Aktivität bekommen: das Limmern . Limmern bedeutet, du holst dir aus einem der vielen Kioske auf der Limmerstraße ein Bier oder sonstiges Getränke, nimmst es mit auf die Limmerstraße und trinkst es dort, lässig rumhängend und Leute beobachtend. Im Prinzip wie cornern, nur heißt das auf der Limmerstraße Limmern.

Streetart? Die beiden reizenden Schilder zieren die Wand links neben dem Eingang vom Apollo-Kino in Hannover-Linden.

Reizend ist auch das Apollo-Kino in der Limmerstraße 50. Im Hinterhof des Programmkinos findet sich ebenfalls eine kleine Kollektion von Streetart und Graffiti.

Bunker am Welfenplatz

An diesem ehemaligen Luftschutzbunker aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in List/Oststadt wartet jede Menge Graffiti auf dich. Der Bunker aus dem Jahre 1940 ist daneben auch noch ein Auswilderungsstation für Fledermäuse, die sich seit dem sehr kalten Winter 2011/2012 dorthin zurückziehen.

Hannovers schönste U-Bahn-Station Sedanstr./Lister Meile

Unter der Organisation von Hannovers Graffiti-Legende Orlando „Byrom“ Brakel ist hier 1995 gemeinsam mit der Verkehrsgesellschaft ÜSTRA ein einzigartiger Graffiti-Bahnhof entstanden. Brakel gewann dafür drei Graffiti-Künstler aus New York: Lee, Daze und Crash. Vier Hannoversche Künstler vervollständigten das Team, das unter dem Projektnamen „Hannover-New York Express“ innerhalb von vier Wochen die gesamte Haltestelle besprühte. Heute, fast 30 Jahre später, ist Sedanstr./Lister Meile bunt wie eh und je, eine fast schon historische Graffiti-Pilgerstätte und in jedem Fall ein guter Ort in Hannover, um Graffiti zu sehen.

Graffiti-Shop Writers Corner

Wer die Hannoversche Graffiti-Legende Byrom, Orlando Brakel mit bürgerlichem Namen, mal persönlich sehen möchte, kann in seinem Graffiti-Shop „Writers Corner“ vorbeischauen. Dort hat er jeden, der in Hannover sprayt, schon mal durch die Tür kommen sehen. Jede Menge Geschichten aus der Graffiti-Szene und eine lange eigene Historie als Sprayer. Eröffnet hat er den Laden übrigens Ende 1995 gemeinsam mit einem Freund. Aufgezogen haben den Spraydosenladen mit dem Honorar, das er für das Besprayen der U-Bahn-Haltestelle Sedanstr./Lister Meile bekommen hat.

Streetart-Festivals in Hannover

Hannover hat das Glück, gleich zwei Streetart- und Graffiti-Festivals zu haben. Sie finden in der Regel im August und im September statt und sind die perfekte Gelegenheit für deinen Hannover-Besuch. 

Urban Nature

Wall of Fame am Ihme-Zentrum

Das Urban-Art- und Graffiti-Festival „ Urban Nature “ fand 2022 bereits zum fünften Mal statt. Organisiert wird es vom Graffiti-Netz Hannover und von der Jungen Kultur aus dem Kulturbüro der Stadt. Das Graffiti-Netz ist ein freies, selbstorganisiertes Netzwerk aus Graffiti-Künstler:innen. Ich habe das Festival in diesem Jahr zum Anlass genommen, mich in Hannover auf die Suche nach Graffiti und Streetart zu machen. Die Ihme-Hall war die zentrale Location des Urban Nature. Hier konnte man Sprayer:innen live bei der Arbeit zuschauen und sehen, wie weitere bunte Kunstwerke entstehen. Hola Utopia

Dieses Mural von CHEEZ X GERD in der Glockseestrasse 35 ist beim Hola Utopia! 2020 entstanden.

Nur ein paar Wochen nach dem Urban Nature tritt in Hannover alljährlich im September das Streetart-Festival „ Hola Utopia! “ an, die niedersächsische Hauptstadt noch ein bisschen bunter zu machen. Organisiert wird es von Artie Ilsemann und Graffitikünstler Jascha Müller. Der Fokus des soziokulturellen Hola Utopia! ist dabei eher international. Neben dem Live-Spraying gibt es Graffiti-Workshops, in denen die Profis ihre Herangehensweisen erklären. 2022 zum dritten Mal. Dabei sind diese sechs meist großflächige Murals entstanden:

• Lily Brick: Bödeckerstraße 7
• Rookie the Weird: Bornumer Straße 146
• Bierenbrood: Parkhaus hanova, Mehlstraße 2

Hoteltipp Hannover: me and all

Wenn die Streetart-Tour direkt im Hotel startet: im me and all befindet sich ein Hannover-Mural vom Künstler Bener1!

Wenn du wie ich moderne und stylische Hotel magst, kann ich dir das „Me and All“-Hotel (Adresse: Aegidientorplatz 3) empfehlen. Die Zimmer sind für ein Stadthotel typisch recht klein, aber effizient genutzt und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Hotel hat auch eine Bar , in der du gut einen Absacker nach einem langen Stadterkundungstag trinken kannst.

Es liegt direkt an der Bahnstation Aegidientorplatz und ist also sehr gut an das öffentliche Nahverkehrsnetz angebunden . Bis zur Altstadt brauchst du von hier zu Fuß ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten. Das tollste am Hotel: Als Gast kannst dort kostenlos Swap-Fiets-Fahrräder ausleihen. Die perfekten Accessoires für deine Streetart-Tour durch Hannover!

Zum Hotel gehören acht kostenpflichte Parkplätzen (max. 25 Euro/Tag). Leider sind sie nicht reservierbar: first come, first park. Mit etwas Glück kannst du aber einen ergattern. In den zum Teil stark befahrenen Straßen rund um das Hotel kannst du häufig nicht kostenlos parken. Nach ein bisschen Suchen haben wir dann was gefunden, aber wenn möglich, lass das Auto besser gleich zu Hause …

ET with a gun – Street Art, orb style, von Otto Schade in London

• Zuletzt war ich in der französischen Stadt Mulhouse im Elsass auf der Suche nach Streetart und Graffiti unterwegs. Meine besten Tipps dazu habe ich im Blogpost " Streetart in Mulhouse: Geheimtipp im Elsass " zusammengestellt.
• In der wunderschönen Stadt Nancy im französischen Grand Este (ehem. Lothringen) habe ich mich auf die Suche nach Streetart gemacht: Erst mit einer Guidin, dann mit dem Fahrrad. Das ging in Nancy, das Streetart und Graffiti seit 2015 aktiv fördert, besonders gut, weil es drei eigens dafür kreierte Streetart-Parcours gibt. • In Mannheim habe ich mir diesen Sommer das spannende Muralprojekt Stadt.Wand.Kunst angeschaut. Dabei arbeitet die Stadt Mannheim mit diversen anderen Akteur:innen wie dem Kulturzentrum "Alte Feuerwache", der Wohnungsbaugenossenschaft GBG oder der Sprühdosenhersteller Montana Cans Heidelberg zusammen, um die Quadratestadt etwas bunter zu machen: Streetart in Mannheim: das Muralprojekt Stadt.Wand.Kunst .
• Im niedersächsischen Einbeck war ich auf dem Streetart-Festival "Streetart-Meile ". Daraus ist der Artikel → Einbecks Straßenkunst: die 7 schönsten Spots für Fachwerk und Streetart entstanden. Darin stelle ich in einer Art Oscar-Verleihung einem Streetart-Stück ein Fachwerkhaus, was ja auch irgendwie Streetart ist, gegenüber.
• In Heidelberg war ich auf dem Metropolink Festival für urbane Kunst live dabei, wie auf einem ehemaligen amerikanischen Kasernengelände neue Streetart entstanden ist - eine super Erfahrung, falls du mal die Chance hast: → Streetart in Heidelberg: das Metropolink Festival für urbane Kunst .
• In London , eine meiner liebsten Städte, habe ich mich beim letzten Besuch auf die Suche nach Streetart gemacht, einen Amy-Winehouse-Streetart-Trail und in der Brick Lane das reinste Streetart-Eldorado entdeckt. das Mural von Roman Martins ist ja ganz großartig. Die Brasilianer und die Portugiesen sind einfach die größten der Szene, unserer Meinung nach zumindest. MrDheo und ParizOne ist auch super. Hallo ihr zwei, freut mich, dass für euch auch noch ein paar Highlights dabei waren. Ich war wirklich überrascht, wie viel es in Sachen Streetart und Graffiti in Hannover zu entdecken gibt. Ihr seid ja offenbar auch schon ordentlich rumgekommen, was das angeht. Die Brasilianer und Portugiesen hatte ich bisher gar nicht so auf dem Schirm, bis auf Bordalo II vielleicht. Hey Winfried, danke für die Blumen. Ja, Graffiti und Streetart entdecke ich gerne mit dem Fahrrad, ohnehin mein urbanes Lieblingsfortbewegungsmittel. Ich war auf jeden Fall sehr positiv von der Graffiti-Szene in Hannover überrascht, auch wenn ich längst nicht alle Artspots angesteuert habe. Viele davon findest du auf Instagram, den entsprechenden Websites der Stadt oder eben zufällig, wenn du eh schon in einem Stadtteil mit vielen Artspots bist. Klingt auf jeden Fall spannend mit eurer Künstler:innenagentur. Ist ja ein vielseitiges Feld. Austauschen immer gerne. Ansonsten dir/euch ganz viel Erfolg. Viele Grüße Claudia

GERMANY: Streetart Map Hannover – Urban Art Archive and Graffiti Tracker

This map was one of the first created with this website, but for several years nothing happened besides some initial spots. Finally that is completely changing now! At the moment we are working on the Hannover Map a lot and we are bringing it to the level of a super cool map filled with a lot of awesome photos and interesting information. Thanks to the artist, photographer and collective member IRXNSCHMOIZ this archive is now growing extensivley. Keep on checking the page, there will be a lot more spots and articles coming from Hannover. And if you want to contribute to this documentation yourself as well, if you have photos from years ago or new ones, just write us to [email protected].

How does the map work? All the buttons on the map are links to a photo gallery of the spot, sometimes with only one photo, sometimes with heaps of photos or even a full article. The different symbols explain various categories of the streetart and graffiti artworks. In the navigation of the map on the left you can find the several markers sorted by the categories and it´s possible to hide or fade these layers.

10. First Friday Art Walk in Denver

First Friday Art Walks are back in Denver’s Art District on Santa Fe this year and better than ever.

This signature event displays fantastic new art as well as featuring new hip businesses.

This Art Walk is open all year-round on the first Friday of every month from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. The event happens whether its rain or shine and admission the event is free.

It’s an amazing place to view art, sculptures, and paintings from hundreds of local artists, galleries, and studios.

There is free parking available throughout the District and side streets but can get very crowded during heavy traffic days.

Local boutiques and even food trucks will be on display at the Art Walk, so be sure to come hungry. And yes, dogs are allowed at the event although they may not be allowed into certain buildings.

Is graffiti legal in Denver?

However painting, etching, chipping or smashing public or private property is considered a criminal offense in Colorado.
