Museum exhibits, events & programs, info & hours, students & teachers, looking for something, virtual field trips, join us for a virtual field trip.
Bring Hershey, PA to your classroom with our new, interactive virtual school programs! All programs are led by a museum educator and lasts 30-45 minutes. Programs (listed below) have suggested grade ranges, but they can be easily adjusted for all ages and abilities for students in grades K-12.
Cost: Each program is $85 for the first class and $70 for each additional class – up to 30 students per class.

Recommended for 3 rd – 8 th grade students
The sweet chocolate candy we enjoy today is very different from the chocolate consumed by colonists in the 1700s. Step back in time and learn how chocolate was made in Colonial America and the unique ingredients that were used. Students learn the important role chocolate played in the founding of America and try three special colonial inspired chocolates that contain orange peel, cinnamon, and nutmeg!
The Secrets of Sweet Success: The Story of Milton S. Hershey
Recommended for 3rd-10th grade students
This program looks at the life of Milton S. Hershey and how he founded a company, town and school that are still thriving today. Students examine eight guiding principles that Mr. Hershey followed to become a successful businessman and community leader, including start with a passion, keep trying, and pursue new ideas.
Taste Sensations: The Flavor of Chocolate
Recommended for 1st – 7th grade students
Students learn how we taste food and experience the five basic tastes through trying foods such as dried cranberries and cocoa nibs. Students will explore what impacts the flavor of chocolate, the ingredients in different types of chocolate and why Hershey’s chocolate has a unique flavor. (Additional $15 – $25 cost for supplies and shipping may be needed.)
Trolleys, Trucks & Trains: The Transportation that Built a Chocolate Town
Recommended for 2nd – 7th grade students
Discover how transportation played a key role in Milton Hershey’s decision to build his factory and town in the middle of rural Pennsylvania. Learn about the various and unique vehicles used in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and how they changed over time to move students, workers, and visitors, as well as supplies, to create a town unlike any other.
Tour High Point Mansion: The Home of Milton and Catherine Hershey
Recommended for 4th – 12th grade students
Experience the lives of Milton and Catherine Hershey as you step inside their home to discover unusual architectural elements and original furnishings. A trained tour guide will lead a personalized exploration of the house over a pre-recorded video for your students so they can ask questions while learning about life at High Point. Please allow at least 45 minutes for this program.
Special Chocolate Experience Add-On Options:
Chocolate Tasting: Dark, Milk and White Chocolate
Program lasts about 15 minutes.
Try each type of chocolate while learning about their ingredients and why this gives them such different tastes and textures.

Chocolate Tasting: International Chocolates
Try four single-source chocolates from around the world as we discover and discuss how each has a unique flavor profile.

Build a Hershey’s Kissmobile!
Program lasts about 20 minutes.
Students will learn about the history of Hershey’s Kisses Chocolates, as well as this unique vehicle. They will also each make their own Hershey’s Kissmobile out of Hershey’s KISSES chocolates and milk chocolate bars.
- $50 for the first class, $45 for each additional class – includes chocolate and shipping.
