We're into the final day of this year's race, so a Tour de France stage 21 live stream is going to be a hot ticket if you want to watch the riders make their final journey into Paris. Groenewegen was closest to him last year and will be one of the other sprinters left after a brutal Tour trying to dethrone the green jersey wearer.

It starts at the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines Velodrome which will play host to the track cycling at next year's Olympic Games, before looping back east towards the French capital. The 115.1km route is incredibly flat and only has one category four climb, but that won't threaten Giulio Ciccone's lead of the polka-dot classification. It's all set for the sprinters' royale on the Champs-Élysées with the fast men and leadouts ready to fight for position and battle for the win after completing nine laps of the Parisian circuit. The long finishing road on Paris's most famous avenue has long played host to the final Tour and was last won by Jasper Philipsen, holder of the green jersey, who will be the favourite for the day.

How to watch the Tour de France 2021: TV channel, live stream, schedule, ITV coverage and when highlights are

Geraint thomas is chasing the yellow jersey and mark cavendish the green – but the britons face stiff competition.

A thrilling Tour de France finished in late September after it was pushed back due to the pandemic, and some nine months later the same two faces are expected to be out in front when the 2021 edition gets under way.

This year’s Tour starts on Saturday 26 June, with defending champion Tadej Pogacar out to defend his crown and Primoz Roglic hoping to beat his fellow Slovenian.

Roglic held the yellow jersey for 11 stages last year but a stunning mountain time-trial performance from Pogacar in Stage 20 helped the then 21-year-old become the youngest general classification winner for over a century – a display which saw him claim the young rider and mountains classifications to boot.

This year’s battle for the yellow jersey has been dubbed part two of “Pog vs Rog” in some quarters, but Geraint Thomas is among the ever-strong Ineos Grenadiers contingent chasing glory once more.

Tadej Pogacar – UAE Team Emirates

• Age: 22 | Best result: 2020 winner

Pogacar comes into the Tour in good form having won the Tour of Slovenia earlier in June. The 22-year-old also won the one-day Liège-Bastogne-Liège and headed an impressive field at the Tirreno–Adriatico to justify his tag as favourite for the Tour de France.

The spotlight will be a little brighter as the defending champion, but the Slovenian has a strong team behind him, among them Rafal Majka – a two-time King of the Mountains – and new addition Marc Hirschi, who impressed last year.

“My year so far has gone really well and I’m really looking forward to starting this Tour with good preparation and good condition,” Pogacar said. “I am confident in myself and my team, we can’t wait for the challenge.”

Primoz Roglic –Team Jumbo-Visma

• Age: 31 | Best result: Second in 2020

Roglic must ride away the pain of last year’s agonising near-miss when taking to French tarmac once more this year. He was able to win last year’s edition of Liège–Bastogne–Liège after the Tour finished, while this year he will be buoyed by his Tour of the Basque Country win – a six-stage race in which Pogacar came third.

Having focused on altitude training over races this year, Roglic is a man on a mission, and has riders including Steven Kruijswijk, Sepp Kuss, Wout van Aert and Tony Martin out to support his cause at Jumbo-Visma.

Geraint Thomas – Ineos Grenadiers

• Age: 35 | Best result: 2018 winner

Thomas was a surprise omission from Ineos’ roster for the 2020 Tour de France, but he returns as part of a strong pack this time around, with team-mates Richie Porte and Richard Carapaz (below) also deemed contenders if Pogacar and Roglic fall short.

For Thomas, it will be about ensuring this team can work together before a prime general classification candidate becomes clearer, and that means any mistakes could lead to him backing up Porte or Carapaz – or even last year’s British winner of the Giro d’Italia, Tao Geoghegan Hart – in the latter stages.

Porte won the Criterium du Dauphine earlier this month, while Thomas came third after winning the Tour de Romandie in May – his first title since winning the 2018 Tour de France. A good omen, but the Briton will know the Slovenians could take some beating.

Richard Carapaz – Ineos Grenadiers

• Age: 28 | Best result: 13 th in 2020  

The 2019 Giro d’Italia champion saw his odds shorten after winning the Tour de Suisse recently which, along with the Criterium du Dauphine, is deemed as a good metric for which riders are heading to France in form.

The Ecuadorian will therefore be hoping a strong showing in the early mountain stages (eight and nine) will make him Ineos’ leader heading into the business-end of the Tour, but with a time trial on Stage 20 once more Carapaz will likely need a sizeable lead to hold off Pogacar and Roglic.

What about Chris Froome?

Chris Froome will be racing at this year’s Tour de France but the Briton will not be targeting a fifth title.

The 36-year-old is gearing up for his first Tour with Israel Start-Up Nation after leaving Ineos, but he will not be leading his team this year – instead supporting Canadian Michael Woods.

Froome finished a lowly 47 th at the Criterium du Dauphine and is still looking to get back to full fitness following last year’s horrific crash. A likely leader next year, this Tour will be about building his confidence and relationships with his team-mates.

Will Cavendish win the green jersey?

Back on the Tour for the first time since 2018, 36-year-old Mark Cavendish is aiming to add to his 30 career Tour stage wins. He is just four shy of all-time record-holder Eddy Merckx, and was included in Deceuninck-Quick-Step’s team with fellow sprinter Sam Bennett injured and therefore unable to defend his green jersey.

“I am delighted to be going back to the Tour de France with Deceuninck-Quick-Step,” Cavendish said. “Obviously, the circumstances with Sam could be better – he had a special Tour last year and I am sad for him not being able to defend his green jersey.

“But at the same time, I am excited to be going back to a race that I have such an affinity with and where I have so much history. It is the biggest bike race in the world, and I am going to do all I can to grab this opportunity with both hands.”

Cavendish last won the points classification in 2011, with Slovakia’s Peter Sagan going on to dominate, claiming seven of the last nine green jerseys.

Already the record-holder, Sagan (Bora–Hansgrohe) is joint-favourite to make it eight this year, but you can expect to see Lotto–Soudal’s Caleb Ewan claiming stage wins too, making the green jersey battle as intriguing as the one for yellow.

Cavendish will hope to be there or there abouts, and after winning four stages of the Tour of Turkey in April and the last stage of the Belgium Tour in June, it will be great to see him back on a Tour that he adores.

The herculean GC battle Tour de France between leader Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) and second-placed Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) ended on stage 16 and 17 with the Dane first delivering a stunning blow in the time trial before a knockout punch on the Col de la Loze.

Vingegaard has a comfortable lead in the Tour de France GC standings of 7:29 on Pogačar, winner of stage 20 , and 10:56 on the Slovenian's teammate Adam Yates.

The penultimate stage delivered the final skirmish for riders fighting to move up in the top 10 of the general classification. Simon Yates  (Jayco-AlUla) moved up to fourth overall while Carlos Rodríguez (Ineos Grenadiers) lost one spot and is now in fifth place.  Meanwhile, Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) sealed the KOM classification.

All eyes now turn to the sprinters whose biggest day of the year is the finish on the Champs Elysées in Paris.

The 2022 Tour de France began in Copenhagen and finishes in Paris on Sunday 24 July, where Slovenian superstar Tadej Pogacar hopes to be wearing yellow and be crowned champion for the third year in a row.

He is up against the might of the Dutch team Jumbo-Visma, who carry multiple threats including Pogacar’s national teammate Primoz Roglic and last year’s Tour runner-up, Jonas Vingegaard.

Meanwhile Ineos Grenadiers are without their leading light Egan Bernal, the 2019 champion who is still recovering from injury, but they do have the in-form Geraint Thomas fresh from winning the Tour de Suisse, Colombian climber Dani Martinez, as well as potential stage winners Adam Yates and Tom Pidcock.

The Tour usually begins on Saturday but the transfer from this year’s opening three stages in Copenhagen to northern France meant an early rest day and a Friday start to accommodate it.

Here is everything you need to know about today’s Tour de France stage.

Stage 4 start time

The stage is scheduled to begin at around 12.30pm BST and should finish around 4:15pm BST.

How to watch on TV and online

Tour de France coverage can be found this year on ITV4, Eurosport, Discovery+ and GCN+ (Global Cycling Network).

Live racing each day will be shown on ITV4 before highlights typically at 7pm each day. ITV’s website lists timings here .

Stage 4 route and profile

The first stage in France couldn’t get much close to Britain, and fans might take the opportunity to nip across the Channel. There are five category four climbs dotted through the stage but nothing sharp enough to deter the sprinters, so long as they can keep up with any early breakaway. Strong winds could be a factor, too.

The 2022 Tour de France kicks off on July 1 and will continue for 21 stages, concluding on July 24.

This year, the riders will be setting off in Denmark and ending on the Champs-Elysees in Paris.

They'll be facing gruelling hill climbs in the French Alps, cobblestones in Northern France and high-speed descents with hairpin turns.

We're sure you won't want to miss a minute of the action, so here's how you can tune in.

How to watch the Tour de France 2022 in the UK

All 21 stages will be broadcast live in the UK on Eurosport, Discovery+ , GCN+ and ITV.

Eurosport will have extensive coverage of the entire event and is provided with most digital TV packages at no additional cost.

ITV4 will show daily live coverage and evening highlights. ITV4 is free with all digital TV packages.

If you'd prefer to stream online, the ITV hub provides free access, so long as you have a TV licence and are based in the UK.

For full and uninterrupted watching, though, you might want to check out Discovery+ or GCN+. These options will set you back £6.99 per month. For a yearly subscription, the GCN+ app costs £39.99 per year, while Discovery+ is £59.99.

You can also watch on Eurosport Player if you're an existing customer, but the service isn't accepting new sign-ups. However, you can access the content on Discovery+ or by purchasing the Discovery+ Entertainment and Sport pass as an add-on to your Amazon Prime Video subscription also for £6.99 per month.

How to watch the tour de france 2022 in the us.

In the US (and Canada), NBC will be broadcasting the Tour de France every day, with live footage being shown along with highlights and on-demand options.

If you want to watch online, you can do so via Peacock Premium which offers full live stream coverage for $4.99 a month, with ad-free coverage for an additional $5 a month.

You can also use a VPN to watch ITV Hub if you are outside of the UK, whether in the US or somewhere else. Watch Tour de France on TV: Channel, start time and how to catch highlights today

The 2022 Tour de France sees Slovenian two-time winner Tadej Pogacar aim to claim a third yellow jersey in four years, but he is up against the reigning champion Jonas Vingegaard and his formidable Jumbo-Visma team.

And while Vingegaard and Pogacar are expected to fight out the yellow jersey, there is an open race to finish on the podium.

Australia’s 2022 Giro d’Italia winner Jai Hindley, Spain’s Enric Mas, rising Danish star Mattias Skjelmose, home favourite David Gaudu, 2019 Giro winner Richard Carapaz and Pogacar’s new teammate Adam Yates are all in the running, while Ineos riders Tom Pidcock and Dani Martinez could also end up high in the general classification. Ultimately it will come down to who can cling on to the wheels of Vingegaard and Pogacar the longest.

Live Tour de France on ITV4

ITV will bring viewers comprehensive live coverage of the 108th Tour de France, which begins on June 26th in Brest.

Presenter Gary Imlach is joined on ITV4 by commentators Ned Boulting and David Millar, reporters Daniel Friebe and Matt Rendell along with former Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh and racing legend Chis Boardman for expert analysis during the 21-stage race.

Featuring the longest stage of the Tour since 2000, 154 miles between Vierzon and Le Creusot, along with six mountain stages and three finishes at altitude, this time the world’s most famous road cycling race visits the Alps, the Pyrenees, the Morvan and the Massif Central before ending at its traditional home, the Champs-Elysees in Paris, on July 18th.

Originally due to start in July in Copenhagen, the tour was rescheduled to June because of the upcoming Olympic Games. Due to restrictions, the presentation team will again be based at Maidstone Studios this year, with Friebe on hand in France to capture riders’ reactions.

It is the twelfth time ITV4 has screened daily live coverage and extended highlights of the Tour, with more than 85 hours of live cycling to be shown during the event.

As well as daily updates from the men’s Tour, ITV4’s coverage will include live footage from La Course women’s race on June 26th, won in 2020 by Britain’s Lizzie Deignan.

This year’s Tour de France is less ‘La Grande Boucle’ (The Big Loop) and more a giant belt around the country’s waist. Riding west to east the ‘Grand Depart’ took place outside France for the second year in a row across the border in the Basque Country in northern Spain. From here the race is headed west through the Pyrenees across legendary mountains such as the Col du Soudet and the mighty Col du Tourmalet before heading to the Massif Central and a return to the iconic Puy de Dome. Not climbed since 1988 this dormant volcano will provide a spectacular arena for the culmination of stage 9 and the end of the long first week.

Continuing west to The Jura mountains there is a summit finish on top of the Grand Colombier and then two days later another summit finish in the Alps at Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc. With just one time trial on the route: a 22km mainly uphill test on stage 16. This is without doubt a race for the climbers whose battles will finish in the forested peaks of The Vosges on the slopes of the evil Col du Platzerwasel.

As for the contenders, the two main protagonists, Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and Jonas Vinegaard (Jumbo-Visma) are on paper so far ahead of anyone else that the rest appear to be just support actors.

Vinegaard’s dominant display at the recent Critérium du Dauphiné, where he won at a canter, suggests he is in the same sparkling form that saw him take last year’s race but the condition of his great rival Pogačar is not so certain.

The Slovenian he hasn’t raced since he crashed in Liège-Bastogne-Liège on April 23, breaking his wrist. Until that point pretty much all he had to do was to start a race to win it. His return of 12 victories from 19 starts is remarkable in the modern age but having not raced for so long will he be back at his very best?

The final stage of the Tour is half procession and half eyeballs out racing up and down the cobbles of the Champs Elysée. What starts with photo opportunities and glasses of champagne ends with the most highly prized sprint stage in front of the thousands that line the route. Hitting the famous boulevard the peloton as is tradition was all together but not for long as the irrepressible Tadej Pogacar decided to shake things up and go out on the attack. 

Could he defy the might of the peloton and take the unlikeliest of victories? Also no, and he wasn’t the last to try and audacious attack before everything came back to gather for a final mass gallop to the line. All eyes were on Jasper Phillipsen, this year’s sprint king but just as it looked like he had got it, across surged Jordi Meeus (Bora-Hansgrohe) to take his first ever stage win, and what a stage to do it on. 

Yellow jersey wearer Jonas Vingegaard crossed the line a few seconds later flanked by his whole team, his second victory in two years confirmed, which in the end was a very comfortable one and looks likely to be the foundation of a period of total dominance.

UAE Team Emirates

Cycling’s Galacticos. A team of leaders and winners all here to ride in service of one rider, the world’s current best, Tadej Pogacar. Beaten into second place last year after he cracked on the Col de Granon, ‘Pog’ will be out for revenge this year and it would take a brave man to bet against him taking his third title.

Israel–Premier Tech

NO CHRIS FROOME! That was the shock headline, but let’s be honest ONLY Chris Froome thought he was going to be on the start line. Micheal Woods and Dylan Teuns are the riders most likely to deliver but they will need the rub of the green to pull off a stage win, but dreams do come true at the Tour.

Lotto–Dstny

Once upon a time Lotto–Dstny could rely upon Victor Campenaerts to win from a solo break or Caleb Ewan to take a sprint stage but no longer. Although these scenarios are both still a possibility they will more likely be looking to younger members of their team to make it into a break and bring home a win for the Belgian team.

Team TotalEnergies

Gone are the days when Peter Sagan just had to turn up to take the green points jersey such was his dominance, but even the brightest stars fade and in his last Tour it’s unfortunate that he will be little more than a footnote. Unless, that is there is one final bit of magic left in those legs and oh how the cycling fans would love to see that.

Uno-X Pro Cycling Team

Made up entirely of Danes and Norwegians this is the first Tour de France for Uno-X and led by their aging talisman the great Alexander Kristoff they will be keen to leave a mark on it. Young stars Søren Wærenskjold and Torstein Træen will also be keen to show that the Norwegian team are here on merit and justify their selection.

Alpecin–Deceuninck

In the recent Netflix Tour de France documentary series Jasper Philipsen was referred to as Alpecin–Deceuninck’s ‘Plan B’. This is no longer the case, he is well and truly ‘Plan A’ now, of course along with the ‘other Plan A’, the sensational Mathieu Van der Poel. A once in a generation rider who on his day can beat anyone at anything.

EF Education–EasyPost

EF Education–EasyPost have a team full of winners, each one capable of getting in a break and taking a stage it’s just deciding who will get the chance each day. I’m sure Rigoberto URÁN and Richard CARAPAZ have aspirations of a high finish in Paris but I suspect reality will bite when the manure hits the fan and they will get dropped like a hot stone.

Groupama–FDJ

This Tour is going to be Thibaut Pinot’s swan song, the darling of the French media came agonisingly close to winning the Tour but never delivered the victory the nation craves. He is on paper riding to support team leader David Gaudu but with a question mark the size of Paris hanging over the young French rider’s form maybe Pinot will be let off the leash for one last chance of glory before retirement. 

RIDERS: Quentin PACHER, Olivier LE GAC, Lars VAN DEN BERG, Stefan KÜNG, Kevin GENIETS, Thibaut PINOT, David GAUDU and Valentin MADOUAS.

Ineos Grenadiers

With uncertaintly over whether Egan Bernal will ever get back to his best after his near fatal crash in 2022 team Ineos turn up to the Tour not looking at the overall victory for probably the first time in 10 years. The priority will be hunting stages, unless that is the talented Tom Pidcock can get into the mix because we really do not yet know the limits of his abilities.

Intermarché–Circus–Wanty

All eyes are on their star rider Biniam GIRMAY to see if he can deliver the first African stage win. He has already proved himself a champion but will have his work cut out in sprints to beat the other feast men. WIth the backing of a whole continent though this could inspire him to make history in this year’s event. 

RIDERS: Dion SMITH, Biniam GIRMAY, Louis MEINTJES, Mike TEUNISSEN, Adrien PETIT, Georg ZIMMERMANN, Rui COSTA and Lilian CALMEJANE.

Lidl - Trek 

The young Mattias Skjelmose could be in the hunt for the third step on the podium if he still has the form he shown at the Tour de Suisse this but it’s likely Lidl - Trek will find the most success hunting stages. Led by their former world champion Mads Pedersen they also have a very good hand of cards to play whether it be Skjelmose or Ciccone in the hight mountains or Pedersen, Simmons and Stuyven on tough lumpy stages.

Movistar Team

Movistar will be hoping Enric Mas is at his very best as he will need to be if he wants to try and challenge Pogacar and Vingegaard. He did show signs of very good form earlier in the year but has since gone off the boil a bit.

Soudal–Quick-Step

With Remco Evenepole rested, Soudal–Quick-Step don’t have a rider for the general classification so their main focus will be to deliver Fabio Jakobsen to the front on sprint days and hope the mercurial Julian Alaphilippe can re-find the form that once made him the most exciting rider on the planet.

RIDERS: Andrea BAGIOLI, Fabio JAKOBSEN, Julian ALAPHILIPPE, Rémi CAVAGNA, Yves LAMPAERT, Mauri VANSEVENANT, Florian SÉNÉCHAL and Michael MØRKØV.

Team Bahrain Victorious

With newly crowned British champion Fred Wright and the ever-aggressive Matej Mohoric leading their hunt for stages, and Jack Haig aiming to get in the mix for the overall, Bahrain Victorious have many cards to play.

RIDERS: Jack HAIG, Phil BAUHAUS, Nikias ARNDT, Wout POELS, Pello BILBAO, Matej MOHORIČ, Mikel LANDA and Fred WRIGHT.

Team DSM–Firmenich

Once again the French will be dreaming of Romain Bardet stood on the top step of the podium in Paris but, alas, I’m afraid it’s very unlikely this will happen. Expect him to shine in the mountain stages and if he is VERY lucky he could get a win but the best he can really hope for is a top 10 finish.

RIDERS: Chris HAMILTON, Alex EDMONDSON, Kevin VERMAERKE, John DEGENKOLB, Sam WELSFORD, Matthew DINHAM, Romain BARDET and Nils EEKHOFF.

Team Jayco–AlUla

Team Jayco–AlUla take a two pronged attack to the Tour with Dylan Groenewegen favorite for the sprint stages and Simon Yates hoping to be in the mix for a very high finish in Paris.

RIDERS: Christopher JUUL-JENSEN, Elmar REINDERS, Chris HARPER, Luke DURBRIDGE, Lawson CRADDOCK, Dylan GROENEWEGEN, Simon YATES and Luka MEZGEC.

Team Jumbo–Visma

Jumbo Visma have an embarrassment of riches, a team stacked with world class winners, all of whom are there with the sole aim of ensuring Jonas Vingegaard takes his second win after last year's success. Their main problem, like last year, will be keeping their talent in check and ensuring they play the team game and don’t go rogue.

RIDERS: Wilco KELDERMAN, Christophe LAPORTE, Tiesj BENOOT, Wout VAN AERT, Dylan VAN BAARLE, Nathan VAN HOOYDONCK, Sepp KUSS and Jonas VINGEGAARD. 

AG2R Citroën Team

AG2R will be throwing all their weight behind their star rider, the Australian Ben O’Connor. Fourth in the 2021 Tour de France and third in this year’s Criterium du Dauphine, he will fancy his chances of being in the mix for a very high placed finish.

RIDERS: Ben O’CONNOR, Nans PETERS, Oliver NAESEN, Benoît COSNEFROY, Aurélien PARET-PEINTRE, Felix GALL, Clément BERTHET and Stan DEWULF.

Arkéa–Samsic

Arkéa–Samsic’s best hope of a successful Tour will be somehow getting a win from a breakaway with French favorite Warren Barguil their best hope of delivering this goal.

RIDERS: Laurent PICHON, Simon GUGLIELMI, Jenthe BIERMANS, Warren BARGUIL, Luca MOZZATO, Clément CHAMPOUSSIN, Anthony DELAPLACE and Matis LOUVEL.

Astana Qazaqstan Team

Alexey Luttsenko is Astana’s best hope for the overall classification but even the most optimistic fan won’t really believe he has a chance of victory. The main goal for the team, from a British perspective that is, is for Mark Cavendish to win his prized 35th stage.

RIDERS: Harold TEJADA, Gianni MOSCON, Alexey LUTSENKO, Yevgeniy FEDOROV, Mark CAVENDISH, Cees BOL, David DE LA CRUZ and Luis León SÁNCHEZ.

Bora–Hansgrohe

Jai Hindley, the 2022 Giro d’Italia winner should be well in the mix for a spot on the podium but he is still a way off the level needed to compete for the win. Stranger things have happened though so keep an eye on the young Aussie.

RIDERS: Marco HALLER, Patrick KONRAD, Bob JUNGELS, Jordi MEEUS , Emanuel BUCHMANN, Jai HINDLEY, Danny VAN POPPEL and Nils POLITT.

Much like Arkéa–Samsic, Cofids’ hopes lie in a win from a break with seasoned winners. Ion Izagirre, Guillaume Martin and Simon Geschke lead their charge. Also watch out for their sprinter Bryan Coquard who, on his day, if everything fell into place, could upset the bigger sprint names.

2021 Tour de France live stream: How to watch Stage 19 of the race online

A guide on watching the 2021 Tour de France on TV and how to stream the cycling event online

The 2021 Tour de France coverage is almost over, concluding with Stage 21 on Sunday, July 18. It began on Saturday, June 26. Race coverage begins at around at 6 a.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN. Full schedule of stages below.

The excitement is almost over, as the 2021 Tour de France live streams finish this Sunday, with Stage 21. That said, everything feels final for the overall winner seems obvious. Yesterday, Stage 18 saw Tadej Pogacar win and keep the yellow jersey, solidifying the fact that he's likely winning the whole thing.

Today, on the 207km route to Libourne, most eyes will be on a pair chasing at the points. Michael Matthews (from Australia, representing Team BikeExchange), is on the tail of Mark Cavendish (of Great Britain and Team Deceuninck-Quick Step).

Going into today, Cavendish had a 38-point advantage, and with 20 points on the line, Matthews could get closer to that green jersey. That said, Cavendish is one stage win away from breaking Eddy Merck's record, so we doubt he'll be giving anyone a chance.

The three-week race is now live, with 184 riders in 23 teams, pedaling through 21 stages, including three summit finishes and two individual time trials. The strongest all-around rider will emerge victorious at the end.

The 2021 Tour de France is following its usual summer schedule, after last year's edition was delayed to the fall due to the coronavirus pandemic. That means it's been only nine months since Tadej Pogacar won his first Tour de France. 

Favorites in this year's race include Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) and Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers).

Cycling enthusiasts have several options for watching the 2021 Tour de France live stream.

ITV4 will have free, daily live coverage on TV from around 10:45 a.m. to 4:30pm local time. The ITV Hub will also feature live streams of the 2021 Tour de France.

Eurosport and GCN are also streaming the the race. A subscription to  Eurosport Player  costs £6.99 per month and £39.99 per year. The  GCN Race Pass is available in the UK and Australia and costs £39.99 for a year.

Series overview:

ITV will bring viewers comprehensive live coverage of the 108th Tour de France, which begins on Saturday 26 June in Brest.

Presenter Gary Imlach is joined on ITV4 by commentators Ned Boulting and David Millar, reporters Daniel Friebe and Matt Rendell along with former Team Sky rider Peter Kennaugh and racing legend Chis Boardman for expert analysis during the 21-stage race.    Featuring the longest stage of the Tour since 2000, 154 miles between Vierzon and Le Creusot, along with six mountain stages and three finishes at altitude, this time the world's most famous road cycling race visits the Alps, the Pyrenees, the Morvan and the Massif Central before ending at its traditional home, the Champs-Elysees in Paris, on Sunday July 18.

Originally due to start in July in Copenhagen, the tour was rescheduled to June because of the upcoming Olympic Games. Due to restrictions, the presentation team will again be based at Maidstone Studios this year, with Daniel Friebe on hand in France to capture riders' reactions.

It is the twelfth time ITV4 has screened daily live coverage and extended highlights of the Tour, with more than 85 hours of live cycling to be shown during the event.

As well as daily updates from the men's Tour, ITV4's coverage will include live footage from La Course women's race on June 26, won in 2020 by Britain's Lizzie Deignan.

Last year's Tour winner Tadej Pogačar will go into the race as a strong favourite along with Primož Roglič who he beat to the 2020 title, while British hopes could rest on Ineos Grenadiers duo Geraint Thomas and Tao Geoghegan-Hart, or Simon Yates, who produced a third-placed finish at the Giro, while four-time winner Chris Froome is due to line up for his new team Israel Start-Up Nation.   This is a Vsquared production for ITV4.

Who do you think will win this year, and why?

"I really don’t know, but I’ve a feeling that if Primoz Roglic doesn’t win the Tour this year he may never win it. And after losing the yellow jersey on the penultimate stage last year he’ll be hoping to put the result beyond reasonable doubt well before then."

What do you think will be the key stage in this year's Tour, and why?

"After last year’s late drama, I think it could once again come down to the final time trial the day before Paris. There are two of them on this year’s route, totalling 58km, and for all the spectacle and drama of the mountain stages they’re likely to decide the race."

Is there anything you’re particularly looking forward to this time?

"A visit to Mont Ventoux is always a grand occasion and this year, for the first time, the riders will be climbing it twice in a single stage. It should be a great day."

CHRIS BOARDMAN

"Roglich is my tip. We forget how consistent he was last year, faltering only once, at the last. He’ll be hungrier than anyone in 2021 but as he’ll have been race free since the spring, this is a faith-based prediction. He’ll have a good team behind him and no one has shone enough to challenge for leadership in his absence so the hierarchy at Jumbo-Visma is clear."

"With several young riders close on recent form and climbing ability, the time trials will likely shape this edition of the race. Rather than shut it down and make a defensive contest, with so many good time trialist's - Thomas, Pogacar and Roglich amongst them - then final rolling TT may provide a platform to steel the jersey -as Pogacar did in 2021 - on the penultimate day."

The ITV4 Tour de France coverage has become the staple programme to watch the major cycling race each summer. Ever since taking over from Channel 4 for the 2002 Tour de France. 20 years later and it’s tough to imagine any other channel taking over the coverage of the Tour de France from ITV. It has made household names of the presenters and improved year on year.

ITV4 has secured full live coverage of every 2022 Tour de France stage. Interrupted only by the odd advert break, all of the racing will be on show on ITV4 each day. That means fans can see all of the action from the very beginning of the stage, watching the battle for the day’s breakaway through to the final sprint.

What time are the ITV4 Tour de France highlights?

The daily ITV4 Tour de France highlights show will be on at 7pm. One hour long, it will show the best of the action from the day’s stage, plus analysis and no doubt a mention of the ITV4 Tour de France competition as well for good measure.

Ned boulting.

Once a football reporter, Ned Boulting is now synonymous with ITV4’s cycling coverage and a household name. He started off as a reporter on the ground but has made a seamless transition to the commentary booth in the last few years. Boulting’s name is linked so closely to cycling now that he even goes around the country with a one-man show. I attended the previous tour called Bikeology and there’s an upcoming Re-tour de Ned coming too.

David Millar

Once a pro at a time when there were only a handful of British cyclists, Millar was the first British yellow jersey since Chris Boardman and there wouldn’t be another one for 12 years. He drifted towards the media as his cycling career wound down, being featured on ITV4 when he wasn’t chosen for the 2014 Tour de France in his final season. He joined Ned in the commentary booth in 2016 and has been ever-present since.

Chris Boardman

When I first started watching the Tour de France, Chris Boardman pretty much held the entirety of British interest in the race. 3 times Boardman won the opening prologue (94, 97, 98), with that 1994 spell in the yellow jersey being the first for a Brit since Tom Simpson in 1962. He has had many roles off the bike, including working with the GB Olympic team and as a Commissioner for Active Travel. He briefly left the ITV coverage for 2019 before returning in 2020.

Gary Imlach

Imlach has the longest tenure of any of the on-screen cast, covering the Tour de France on TV since 1990. His dry, deadpan delivery, often with jokes that cast humour on some of the Tour’s numerous scandals and traditions is unmatched. Imlach is the lynchpin that brings everything together on the ITV Tour de France coverage.

Pete Kennaugh

A two-time British national champion and Olympic gold medallist who spent 7 years with Team Sky, Kennaugh joined the ITV coverage in 2019 when Chris Boardman briefly departed. When Boardman returned, Kennaugh stayed on, bringing some much-needed insight into the current peloton as the only member of the team to have ridden with most of the current riders.

Daniel Friebe

You’ll often here Friebe conducting interviews with riders either before or after the stage. He’s a well-known cycling journalist and also a respected author. His books include a look at how Bradley Wiggins won the 2012 Tour de France and biographies of Eddy Merckx and Jan Ullrich.

Matt Rendell

Matt Rendell performs a similar role to Friebe but also has been known to go behind the mic and do commentary as well. Rendell will speak to riders and get their views and also is a prominent author of cycling books. The Death of Marco Pantani is a must-read for anyone interesting in cycling and so is his latest book Colombia Es Pasion!, a look at how Colombia grew and grew in the cycling world.

France's Godon wins opening Tour de Romandie stage

Fribourg (Switzerland) (AFP) – French cyclist Dorian Godon won a sprint finish ahead of his Decathlon AG2R La Mondial team-mate Andrea Vendrame on the first stage of the Tour de Romandie in Switzerland on Wednesday.

Godon, who came fourth in Tuesday's prologue, slipped through a gap to burst clear of the bunch in the closing metres of the hilly 165.7km stage from Chateau d'Oex to Fribourg and was followed closely by Vendrame.

Belgian rider Gianni Vermeersch of Alpecin-Deceuninck claimed third after an early six-man breakaway was swallowed up by the peloton on the last climb of the Arconciel.

Godon took over the race leader's jersey after picking up a time bonus that leaves him six seconds in front of Vermeersch. Julian Alaphilippe is nine seconds off the pace in third.

"We did a one-two with Andrea, and on top of the jersey, it's my first World Tour victory. I just had to be patient and I was rewarded," said Godon.

Thursday's second stage is a 171km run that finishes with a climb to Salvan/Les Marecottes in the Swiss Alps.
