Heart-warming show.
Lady Blacksmith Mambazo was amazing! What a talented group of vocalist/musicians! Heart-warming and soulful show! I would highly recommend seeing them!
Ladysmith Black Mambazo
It was so fun! Beautiful costumes and harmonies, positive message and great dancing moves. It was a show I will remember! Such amazing talent!
Bucket List Experience
Amazing to see this group in person after a lifetime of listening to Graceland/LBM. The group is captivating, and the energy of the show was incredible. Everyone in attendance was rapt with attention to this beautiful, moving, joy-filled performance. I was happy to be part of Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s mission to spread peace around the world through music.
Moving Performance
I’ve been enjoying their music since childhood. It was such a joy and a pleasure to see them live in person the performance was moving.
They were excellent. Talented, inspiring, and entertaining.
Tremendous Concert by Ladysmith Black Mambazo
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening at the Rialto Theater. LSBM was exceptionally energy charged with their tremendous Zulu songs. We appreciated being educated in English the meaning or inspiration for the songs. Would definitely see them again. The Rialto was nice and charming as always. Don't know why but admission to the theatre was an extremely long process which is different than usual.
Spiritual and stellar performance! It was moving and beautiful ♥️
Awesome concert!!
I absolutely love Ladysmith Black Mambazo and they did not disappoint!! What beautiful harmony and I love their African attire!
Wonderful, exuberant heart-warming performance. Changing the world, making it a better place with music.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo!
Most incredible show! I laughed, cried, sang and loved every minute! God Bless all these amazing singers.

I have been a long time admirer of Ladysmith Black Mambazo ever since I was first given the album ‘Graceland’ by my uncle. An unbelievable album in which Paul Simon manage to merge America folk, pop and Native music from South Africa.
The band in their various carnations have been performing for over 50 years, but it was only until the 1970’s, with the help of a radio contract that they got the recognition they deserved.
I was fortunate to live in South Africa and became fascinated by this music. These men have no musical training however they can just harmonise like the best in the world. The tone of there voices is simple stunning. Often he poorest of the poor the music has been their salvation, in a life that is made up of medial jobs. You can feel in every note, how important the music is to the people of South Africa. How it carried them through their lives, even at the hardest times.
If you go to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo live, expect a glorious evening! One made up of beautiful music (the tone of their voices is breathtaking), a wonderful atmosphere and lots of laughter.

May be our disappointment is due to our expections. The show was not what we expected. They have nice voice but without any music accompanying the songs, after a while all the songs look the same.
Simply amazing. LBM has that rare combination of authenticity and unforgettable, wonderful music. The show went by way too fast!
disappointing
A Very disappointing family outing! I thought it would be more musical and it was alot of beating of drums. Some might enjoy this kind of entertainment but it wasn't our "cup to tea".

Review: Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the Dakota in Minneapolis
Without fanfare or prelude, a simple introduction by an off-stage voice introduced Ladysmith Black Mambazo, welcoming them to the stage on the Ides of March at The Dakota Jazz Club on Tuesday, their first appearance in Minnesota in over two years.
The eight-member group immediately filled the club with their iconic sounds recognizable as the music of South Africa. From tunics of cobalt blue or amber red, to their red socks and shockingly white sneakers, they looked reassuringly familiar.
Their 90-minute set sung in both Zulu and English began with a traditional greeting – “Sawubona” — “We see you.”Performing on a bigger stage in previous appearances and individually miced – and they were more energetic – using every inch of their performance arena. The larger space enabled them to dance with greater leeway. Tuesday’s sound system provided a microphone on a stand for each singer, but if they turned their heads from the mic, their voices were lost. Consequently, they stayed close to their mics and used arm gestures with occasional breakaways of two or three members dancing in unison.
Msizi Shabalala admitted, however, that they weren’t as young as they used to be. After two years with greatly reduced performance, the dancing left them winded. At the same time, I don’t know any other 60- or 70-year-old man who can kick his foot above his head and sing professionally at the same time. The group collectively continues to amaze and impress their audiences.
The Dakota’s tight press to fill as many seats as possible has dialed back. Due to Covid-19, there were fewer spectators and all the staff was masked. The atmosphere felt subdued in comparison to previous visits. Picking up on this, Thulani Shabalala declared “Music makes me happy, it gives me joy, you should try it, too, if you want to be happy.” Reminding us that happiness is a choice independent of circumstances.
Their set-list included music composed by their founder, Joseph Shabalala, back in 1965. They also included a tribute to the senior Shabalala as he’d passed in February, 2020. Many of the numbers they sang featured call-and-response as well as tight harmonies for which the group is known.
They capped the evening with Homeless, a number performed with Paul Simon on his Graceland album and possibly the most recognizable song on their schedule. It was interesting to hear how that song so many USians know fit seamlessly with all their other songs. While, for many, Graceland was a new infusion of music into contemporary culture in the United States, yet for Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the songs are a continuum of what they’ve been playing for nearly 60 years.
By evening’s end, we were singing along, clapping, whistling, and shaking our shoulders, swept up in the exuberance of the musical performance.

THE LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO LEGACY TOUR CONCLUDES AT PTA’S STATE
The legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo will complete the final leg of their SA Legacy Tour at The State Theatre in Pretoria on the 15th of December 2023. The five-time Grammy Award winning group has existed for six decades. Tickets to watch them perform are R250.00 on Webtickets. Ladysmith Black Mambazo began the SA Legacy Tour in May 2023 at The Joburg Theatre. After their October shows at Durban Playhouse, and their performance at Cape Town’s Artscape Theatre in November, they now they bring their beautiful isicathamiya sounds to Pretoria’s State Theatre on 15th December. Says group member Sibongiseni Shabalala, “The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Legacy tour has been a fantastic experience. Connecting to audiences around the country was incredible, as well as showcasing talent we have discovered through the Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy program. Through this program, we have found an incredible talent that we recorded and took worldwide during our international tours. “ Part of the legacy, and highlights of Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s musical journey, is being the anchor and torchbearers of isicathamiya music and indigenous music. Four years ago, Ladysmith Black Mambazo launched The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy, where it discovered and developed young aspiring groups who sing isicathamiya and indigenous music. Through this program – which is supported by the National Department of Sports Arts and Culture – some of the groups now share the stage with Ladysmith Black Mambazo at international shows and on this SA Legacy Tour. At The State Theatre, as was the case with other tour stops, they will be showcasing talent they have discovered. “This time, we have decided to bring a Capetown-based group called Abantakwethu to The State Theatre.” Says Shabalala, ” The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy was initiated to discover, develop and expose talent nationwide. But to our surprise, we have rediscovered ourselves and the impact the group has made on the lives of many people in South Africa for the past decade. We have discovered that as much isicathamiya music is aligned with Zulu-speaking people, as it also originates in KZN, this music had the same impact, if not more, in other parts of the country.” Ladysmith Black Mambazo was formed in the early 60s and has recorded and performed with global music icons – including Burna Boy, Josh Groban, Paul Simon, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, The Winans, Dolly Parton and many more. The award winning group were described by President Nelson Mandela as ‘South African ambassadors of culture and heritage worldwide’. Ladysmith Black Mambazo spend most of their year performing abroad, which makes this tour a special occasion for their SA fans, who have long supported them. “South African audiences first endorsed the success of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. From humble beginnings, the group broke records by being the top-selling music group in South Africa in the late 70s and 80s. The overwhelming support from South African audiences and neighbouring countries paved the way for Ladysmith Black Mambazo to showcase their music globally.” Says Ladysmith Black Mambazo member Albert Mazibuko, who has been with the group since it was started by Joseph Shabalala in the 1960s. “Ladysmith Black Mambazo embarked on this national tour celebrating our journey in the music industry and thanking South Africans for the love and support they have shown us,” continues Mazibuko.” “Pretoria is the last leg of our four-city tour this year, and we promise nothing but the best. We believe that the Ladysmith Black Mambazo Legacy tour will be a royal treat for everyone attending the event, and it will be the best way to kickstart the festive season.” Says Shabalala. Performing at home is very special because the social issues of South Africa inspired the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo during the dark days of Apartheid till now. Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a mirror of South African Society,” Mazibuko adds. To Shabalala, “South African Audiences and international audiences are special in their own way. Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s target audience is cutting across all race groups, and surprisingly, language is never a barrier, and it’s exciting to see some people in the audience singing along with you, as compared to international audiences. As the saying goes, there is no place like home. We feel at home whenever we do a show in South Africa, a rare occasion for the group.” In 2024 the group heads back overseas for multiple tour dates in America and Europe. The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Legacy Tour is supported by The Department of Sports Art and Culture and Mzansi Magic

Moscow Metro
The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.
What is the kremlin in russia?
The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.
And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.
During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.
There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:
From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.
At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.
According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.
The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
Coffee Ring
The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.
Zodiac Metro
According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.
