Miss Tourism Nepal Winners Set to Promote Tourism Globally

Nikita Gautam, the crowned winner of Miss Tourism Beauty of Nepal, not only graces the pinnacle of beauty but also holds the esteemed position of Editorial Coordinator at Nepal Traveller

In a triumphant culmination, the Miss Tourism Nepal competition, with its esteemed international affiliations such as Miss Tourism International, Miss Tourism Heritage, Miss Beauty of the World, and Miss Business Global, has concluded with resounding success. Out of the 100 participants who vied for the coveted title, a select 10 made it to the grand finale, with four of them earning the prestigious opportunity to represent Nepal on the global stage.

The crown for Miss Tourism International was claimed by the radiant Rabina Baraily, while the title of Miss Tourism Heritage was bestowed upon the graceful Narina Thapa Magar. Nikita Gautam emerged victorious as Miss Beauty of the World, and Sonu Bardewa achieved the honor of Miss Business Global.

In a notable achievement, Nikita Gautam, who clinched the title of Miss Tourism Beauty of Nepal, is not only a distinguished beauty queen but also currently serves as the Editorial Coordinator at Nepal Traveller. Adding to her accomplishments, Nikita Gautam is concurrently pursuing her studies at the esteemed Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM).

With a theme deeply rooted in promoting the tourism sector of Nepal , the beauty pageant carried the resonant slogan, "Rising from the root, promoting Tourism to the Top." Applauding the remarkable achievements of the winners and finalists, the event has set an inspiring precedent for elevating Nepal's tourism industry to international acclaim.

Today, The Hidden Treasure (THT) announces to the press the formal opening of applications for Miss Nepal Pageant 2023. The application is open till March 15, 2023 (Chaitra 01, 2079). The finale of Miss Nepal 2023 is scheduled to be held at the Sunrise Convention Center, at Godawari,Lalitpur, on Saturday May 27, 2023 at 4:00 p. m. to be televised live by Kantipur TV. Miss Nepal Earth 2022 Sareesha Shrestha participated at Miss Earth 2022 pageant held in Manila,Philippines on 29th November, 2022. Sareesha was able to bag Best Eco video (Asia) at the finale.Miss Nepal International 2022 Nancy Khadka participated at Miss International 2022 Pageantheld in Tokyo, Japan on 13th December 2022. Miss Nepal World Priyanka Rani Joshi is preparing for her participation in Miss World 2023 which will be held sometime in May 2023. She is taking preparation training from national and international trainers. She is putting her full effort to her Beauty with a Purpose (BWAP) Project which is considered as the heart of the Miss World Pageant.

The finale will be held in nearly 2,800 capacity hall. The minimum height criteria for this year is 5' 3" and the age limit is 18 - 27 yrs. This year the pageant will have three main winners— Miss Nepal World, Miss Nepal Earth and Miss Nepal International. THT is happy and proud to have DABUR VATIKA as our Main Sponsor for this year. We would also like to welcome our two new co-sponsor CETHAPHIL and SOMERSBY PREMIUM CIDER. THT would also like to extend its appreciation to all our title sponsors and supporters for their kind association with this year's pageant. We are glad to welcome back Nepal Tourism Board this year again as a subtitle sponsor. To make the pageant more broad based, the audition this year will cover all the 7 provinces of the country – Regional Auditions will be held within March 15, 2023 at Itahari, Birgunj, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Surkhet and Dhangadi. Date and place for different provinces will be announced later whereas Kathmandu audition will be held on 18th March, 2023 at Park Village Hotel, Budhanilkantha the hospitality partner hotel for this year on 18th March, 2023. Nepal’s performance at Miss World

Miss World, one of the oldest and the most coveted pageants, has seen remarkable performances from delegates all over the world since its establishment in 1951. Nepal entered Miss World in 1997 and since then the country has sent a delegate to Miss World every year. In the last decade, Nepal has shown such a great leap in terms of great performances, placements and beautiful divas representing the country with pride.

In the last few years, especially since 2012, Nepal has marked an imminent spot in the coveted Miss World pageant. The Miss Nepal organization has, year after year, crowned beauties of substance, essence and intelligence to represent the country at Miss World pageant. Primarily, in the last four years, Nepal has been doing quite well at the pageant.

In 2017, Nikita Chandak represented Nepal in Miss World 2017. Even though she failed to win the crown, she won numerous placements in the competition. She was the winner of the Head-to-Head Challenge and won a spot in Top 30 automatically. She was also one of the ten finalists for Beauty with a Purpose award, stood third in the Multimedia competition and was a part of Top 30 for the Top Model Competition. Nikita also placed in the Top 30 for the People’s Choice award and overall won the 31st position in Miss World 2017.

In 2018, Nepal was represented by Shrinkhala Khatiwada who was the audience’s favourite in Miss World 2018. The Nepali beauty mesmerized everyone with her beauty and empathy. She won the coveted Beauty with a Purpose award, which is the most important segment of the pageant. She then also won the Multimedia award proving how much she is loved by everyone. Shrinkhala also placed in Top 32 at Top Model Competition and won the third place in Tourism Video. Finally, she placed in the Top 12 at the competition.

In 2019, Anushka Shrestha represented Nepal at Miss World and took her place in Top 40 by winning the Head-to-Head Challenge. She also won two of the most important fast track events as she won Multimedia Award and Beauty with a Purpose award. She followed in the footsteps of her predecessor Shrinkhala Khatiwada who had similar success at Miss World in 2018.

Namrata Shrestha represented Nepal at the 70th Miss World and with her stellar performance, Namrata placed in the Top 40 with her stellar performance. She also placed in the Top 10 at the Beauty with a Purpose Challenge and the Multimedia Challenge.

For the 71st edition of Miss World, Priyanka Rani Joshi  represented Nepal in India on 9th March 2024 in Mumbai, India where she placed in the Top 40 at the finals. She also placed in the Top 25 at Head to Head Challenge, Top 32 at Sports Challenge, Continental Winner (Asia) for Beauty with a Purpose award.
