P&O Spa Prices 2023

We cruised on P&O Iona cruise ship and for the first time treated ourselves to some time in the Spa. P&O has a spa called Oasis which is open from 8.00am – 10.00pm. We had always avoided going to the spa but were encouraged by friends to try it and we are so glad we did!

In this post we show you the P&O Spa Prices so you will know what you will have to pay if you want to treat yourself on your cruise with P&O.

We also have spa prices for the following cruise lines, Princess , Marella , Cunard ,  Saga , Virgin Voyages and Celebrity  so you can compare which cruise line has the best value for money spa treatments.

During our cruise we paid £39 each for a two hour pass to the Spa. This enabled us to spend time in the hydrotherapy pool, steam rooms, sauna and hot beds. They also have some really funky showers. You can also purchase passes for different durations so do check with the reception staff when you get on board.

A week long pass is available for £129.

If you would like to see the facilities of the Oasis Spa we show them in this episode of our Iona vlogs .

P&O Cruises ship Iona is full to the brim with cuisine, activities and entertainment to suit your every need and want. So how can each cruiser make the most of this floating paradise during their holiday?

P&O Cruises gives you the luxury of a multitude of features onboard new cruise ship Iona to ensure you embark on a cruise of a lifetime which will please everyone.

Make sure your days onboard are just as entertaining and adventure-packed as the ones offboard. P&O Cruises’ Iona features a bar with live music, cinema and theatre – so you are guaranteed to find something you enjoy.

Iona’s innovation credentials are impressive, too – she’s the first British cruise ship to be powered by liquified natural gas and also features the iconic SkyDome, which has a retractable stage to transform the space into an entertainment venue at night.

P&o ventura cruise ship – your ultimate guide.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

P&O Ventura cruise ship – your ultimate guide .

We’ve travelled on Ventura a couple of times now on family cruises (and also her sister ship Azura) and have really explored the ship.

On our last cruise to the Canary Islands we travelled on Ventura . We set about to write an ultimate guide to Ventura P&Os cruise ship with everything you need to know before you get on board.

*AD / Press trip. To read more please see my Disclosure Policy .

Everything mentioned here is included in the price of your cruise unless specified.

Table of Contents

P&O Ventura cruise ship – your ultimate guide: cabins

We have stayed in a number of cabins on Ventura.

Balcony Cabin

On our most recent trip we stayed in their balcony cabin.

This had a really nice sized bedroom area with a very comfortable double bed.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

A seating area with drawers and space to sit.

Seating area

And a corner area with fridge under, kettle and tea and coffee-making facilities on the top and television above that.

Fridge area

There was also a chair to sit on.

For families travelling with one child there was a bunk bed that your cabin steward would pull down at night to create another bed over the top.

Cabin

There was a really nice sized dressing / wardrobe area with shelves. And lots of hanging space and room for suitcases.

Wardrobe

The bathroom is off the dressing area with a lovely, powerful shower. There are lots of The White Company products.

Bathroom

The bedroom has French doors out to a really nice sized balcony with two chairs, a footrest and small table.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

For families this balcony can interconnect to another balcony that leads in to a second bedroom.

Interconnecting cabins

Superior Balcony Cabin

These rooms are similar to the balcony room above but have a larger seating area.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

Which can turn in to a sofa bed which is ideal if you’re travelling with more than one child.

The bathroom has the benefit of a bath as well as the shower over.

Bathroom

The balcony is also slightly bigger than in the standard balcony room.

Indoor Cabins

These are similar to the balcony cabins in terms of size.

Inside cabin on Azura

These can have beds over to accommodate up to four passengers.

Ventura also has a limited number of suites which we stayed in on our first cruise around Italy and Croatia .

These are a wonderful space for families with the main bedroom area.

Cabin in the suite

A large lounge with another television, fridge, sofa and other seating.

Lounge

This interconnects through to a children’s bedroom. It comes with two single beds and the option of two bunk beds over so can accommodate four.

Children's cabin on board P&O Cruises Ventura

There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath and the lounge opens on to a large balcony.

Balcony on board P&O Cruises Ventura

It’s a wonderful way to travel if you’re with more than two children or extended family.

With the suites you also get added perks such as an option to have breakfast in the Epicurean at the White Room.

Food & drink on board

We love the food on Ventura, as with all P&O cruises it’s of a very high standard.

Fixed dining and Freedom dining

For your main meals – breakfast and dinner, you can choose between fixed dining (at a set time each day – either 6.30pm or 8.30pm and for a table of your own or shared with others). Or freedom dining where you are allocated to Cinnamon or Saffron restaurant and can turn up any time between 8 and 9 in the morning (or 9.30 on sea days) and 6 and 9.30 in the evening.

Both of these options serve the same food which in the evening is a sit down three course meal. It is all included in the price of your cruise.

The food in these restaurants is outstanding with plenty of choice and always of the highest standard. We all really looked forward to dinner on board.

Food

Special diets

There are plenty of gluten-free and vegetarian options but vegetarians also have their own menu they can also order from and there are lots of vegan choices here too.

If you are on a special diet , for example dairy free, P&O have dedicated special diet chefs. So let them know in advance and this can all be catered for.

Children’s menu

There is a children’s menu which over two weeks of this can feel a bit monotonous. Luckily there are many other child-friendly alternatives though, see below.

Children can also choose from the adult menu.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

Breakfast can also be in your allocated restaurant and is again of really high quality.

You can choose from fresh fruits, pastries, toasts and jam, porridge and pancakes.

There are specials each day such as smoked salmon and scrambled egg on a Sunday and Eggs Benedict on a Monday. And the children loved the smoothie of the day.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

There’s also a full hot menu to order from. This includes bacon, sausages, sautéed potatoes, mushrooms, baked beans and even vegetarian bacon and sausages.

Full English breakfast

Outside of those set places to eat you can choose from a wide range of other options if you don’t feel like sitting down to the full meal.

Buffet restaurant – Waterside

To start with there is the main buffet restaurant Waterside. This is open from 6.30am – 11am for breakfast, noon – 2.30pm for lunch, 6pm – 9.30pm for dinner and 9.30pm – 2am for late night snacks.

The evening meal is themed each day with food including for example British specialities and Indian buffet but there are always plenty of other options.

Waterside buffet restaurant

We really enjoyed the food at Waterside. It was a relaxed way to eat with the kids with everyone able to choose exactly what they wanted and opportunities to have a little bit more of what you really love (like the carrot cake!).

Waterside also offer a wonderful kids tea between 5 and 6pm.

Our children loved this as somewhere to go and pick up some of their favourites such as pasta, fish and sandwiches.

There were jugs of squash and plenty of ice cream for afterwards and they loved the cookies (as did I…shhhh!).

The benefit of the kids tea in particular was for the children to eat and then go off to kids club at 6pm when we would go off to dinner. It meant we could chat and relax for an hour while they played upstairs.

It worked so well for us.

Poolside Grill

There were a couple of other lunch time and early dinner options with the Poolside Grill which serves up burgers, hotdogs, salads and chips between 11.30 and 7pm.

Poolside Pizzeria

And the Poolside Pizzeria also open between 11.30 and 7pm.

Pizzas on board P&O Cruises Ventura

Fine dining (at an extra charge on board) – P&O Ventura

On top of all of these complimentary options there are also a number of restaurants you could pay a little more to visit.

While it might seem crazy to spend money on food on board when so much amazing food is provided in the cost of your cruise these restaurants really are well worth splashing out on.

The Epicurean and Sindhu for example are led by Marco Pierre White and Atul Kochhar so to be able to eat their food at the price it is on board is a really wonderful opportunity.

It’s worth noting that the menu changes halfway through a two-week cruise so you can visit twice and get a totally different choice of food. So if there’s something you spot and fancy trying, get it booked in and check it will be on the menu the day you want to visit.

The Epicurean at the White Room – P&O Ventura

The Epicurean at the White Room is Marco Pierre White’s restaurant on board and is really special.

With dishes such as oak smoked salmon carved at your table and fillet of Turbot it is somewhere to really enjoy and savour.

Children are welcome here – we took the kids – but it would also make a wonderful romantic meal for a couple and worth spending the money on.

Charge applies {£28pp at time of writing, half price for kids}.

Epicurean

Sindhu – P&O Ventura

Sindhu is Atul Kocchur’s restaurant on board and personally my favourite as I absolutely adore his food.

With dishes including pan-fried sea bass with garlic mash & coconut sauce, lavender chicken korma and a great selection of veggie curries it’s a fantastic evening meal.

Charge applies {£20pp at time of writing}.

Sindhu

The Beach House

If you’re looking for more of a casual meal but one that’s a bit different then The Beach House is a great lunchtime choice.

It has American themed food such as Nachos, Mac n Cheese and a variety of burgers and we love it.

It’s also really well priced as an add-on and a great treat for days at sea.

Charge applies {£7.50pp at time of writing}.

Your ultimate guide to Ventura P&Os cruise ship - copyright: www.globalmousetravels.com

The Glass House

The Glass House is Olly Smith’s wine bar which also has food on offer including a host of small plates such as Garlic mushrooms in a crisp panko crumb, risottos, burgers and desserts.

Charge applies {Various prices}.

Eric Lanlard’s Afternoon Tea

Another wonderful treat when you are on board, particularly on sea days is Eric Lanlard’s Afternoon Tea .

Eric makes the world’s best cakes and his afternoon tea is an imaginative touch of taste and sensation and feels really decadent. It’s a great place to spend a sea day afternoon.

Charge applies.

Launching Eric Lanlard’s ‘Afternoon Tea’ on board P&Os Britannia

Room Service

If you’re feeling like you just want to stay in your cabin and watch a film in the evening you can also order room service .

There’s a menu filled with sandwiches and hot dishes such as lasagne or chicken tikka masala for example which all have a small charge but are ideal if you just want to stay in.

You can also order breakfast to your room at no charge.

Drinks on board Ventura are charged. You can order them by the glass or pick up drinks cards, for example a card for 20 soft drinks, or a wine package, all of which are charged but a great way to keep track of your spending.

There are some lovely bars on board Ventura from the Laguna Bar to Olly Smith’s Glass House and my favourite, the Breakers Bar at the top of the ship with wonderful views which is the perfect place to enjoy a strawberry daiquiri.

If you are more of a coffee shop connoisseur there’s a lovely Costa Coffee cafe at the bottom of the atrium where again you can buy a card to offer you a certain number of coffees at a set price.

The children loved heading here for iced smoothies and I came down to work a couple of times and order a herbal tea and piece of cake to keep me company.

Costa

The pools – P&O Ventura

There are four pools on board Ventura.

Adult only Oasis Pool

There’s an adult only Oasis pool at the gym and spa.

Oasis pool

Family pool – P&O Ventura

A family pool in the middle of the ship which has a retractable roof for all weathers.

Pool

Outdoor Laguna Pool

The outdoor Laguna pool is where much of the on deck entertainment takes places and a kids terrace pool at the rear of the ship.

Outdoor Laguna Pool

On board activities

There are plenty of other activities on board Ventura that it’s hard to know where to start.

On deck fifteen there’s a gym which is so well kitted out.

It’s packed full of running machines, exercise bikes and weights, with beautiful views out to sea.

It’s the perfect place to get motivated. They have lots of classes here too.

Library / Internet cafe

There’s a lovely little library and internet cafe which has a selection of books you can check out for the duration of the cruise.

The Oasis Spa – P&O Ventura

Oasis Spa has all the treatments you could want including a hairdressers if you feel like pampering yourself while on board.

Free onboard games

There’s also fun activities around the ship including table tennis and one of my favourites, shuffleboard.

Shuffleboard

For adults there’s Fortunes Casino open from noon until late.

The onboard entertainment – P&O Ventura

Entertainment is so varied on board Ventura.

There are lots of events going on every single day from bowling and art classes to digital camera classes and salsa.

I love that they have lots for families to do including craft sessions and Arsenal football club.

In the evenings there are quizzes, comedians and pre-dinner tunes.

There is something going on every minute of the day and you can get involved as much or as little as you choose.

P&O Ventura cruise ship – your ultimate guide: kids clubs

Kids Clubs are really not something we used much before travelling on Ventura and then on board they went along to try them out and didn’t look back.

Ventura’s Reef Club is split up according to age groups and is the perfect space for children to make friends and have fun.

The Reef is open from 9am – 1pm / 2pm – 5pm / 6pm – midnight.

It is divided up in to the following age groups:

Splashers – (age 2-4s)

This is a lovely area filled with slides and soft play and age appropriate toys like mini play kitchens and creative play spaces. Our then three year old loved this area.

Kids club for two to four year olds on board Ventura

Surfers – (age 5-8s)

My daughter’s favourite area on board. Surfers organise everything from discos to art sessions and there are plenty of toys for free play too.

Scubas – (age  9-12s)

My ten year old really enjoyed coming up to Scubas where they have plenty of Play stations with all the latest games, theme days and chill out times.

H2O – (13-17s)

A dedicated space for teenagers to watch movies, play games and take part in talent shows and parties.

The shops – P&O Ventura

There are some great shops on board Ventura and almost everything you could need will be covered.

Chic Boutique

This is the main shop for all of your day to day needs. There’s everything here from toothpaste to bars of chocolate. You can also pick up souvenirs of your time on Ventura.

Main shop

Emporium – P&O Ventura

This has a range of tobacco and liquor options.

Regalia Shopping

This is perfect for adding some bits to your wardrobe and has a great range of Crew Clothing, Tommy Hilfiger and Joules.

They have flip flops, smarter clothes for the black tie nights and a range of designs perfect for life on board or day trips off the ship.

Clothes shop

The Shopping Centre – P&O Ventura

Another great shop on Ventura this is full of beautiful jewellery. They also have Pandora being one of the options being sold here at prices cheaper than I could find on the High Street.

Wardrobe Clothing

If you’re in need of accessories this shop is jam-packed full of beautiful bags and wallets.

Eternity Jewellery – P&O Ventura

Eternity is full of the latest designs from house hold names and have a variety of price tags to suit all budgets for him and her.

There’s also a great gallery when you pick up art at a huge range of prices and styles.

P&O Ventura cruise ship – your ultimate guide: services

There are a number of services on board Ventura which you may choose to use –

The daily newspaper

Every evening your steward will turn down the bedroom and leave your copy of Horizon for you to read.

This invaluable magazine has a list of everything going on the following day and the times, details of port stops, any theme for the day (such as black tie), the weather etc.

It’s a great way to keep track of everything going on.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

The Launderette

If we’re on a cruise for two weeks or more I like to be able to wash our clothes half way in.

It means I don’t have to pack as much and just keeps on top of everything.

The launderette on Ventura is free to use but you will need to bring your own detergent which can be purchased on board in Chic Boutique or you can bring some with you.

It’s easy to just put the clothes in and head off and enjoy an activity and come back to collect it.

P&O Ventura cruise ship - your ultimate guide

The Medical Centre

Hopefully this isn’t somewhere you will need to make use of but in case you do there’s a fully equipped medical centre which is available around the clock.

Themed cruises – P&O Ventura

Like many of P&O’s cruises Ventura has a number of themed cruises. From Strictly Come Dancing where dancers from the show are on board to showcase some of the dances you will have seen on TV, to ships that have their food heroes on board.

Our cruise around the Canary Islands had Olly Smith on Ventura, signing books, giving talks and with speciality port stops you could take with him.

P&O Cruises: What to do on new cruise ship Arvia from spa days to shopping sprees

P&O Cruises’ ship Arvia is the latest ship to join the fleet – so how can you spend your time onboard?

P&O Cruises added new ship Arvia to its fleet in December 2022 with its wealth of amazing experiences available onboard receiving lots of attention, from West-End-worthy shows and VR games to mouth-watering meals.

However, should you fancy something more low-key there are plenty of chilled ways to spend your time onboard – in fact, you might not realise the full extent of what there is on offer. From R&R at the spa to retail therapy to art seminars, there are oodles of relaxing activities to enjoy on Arvia cruises.

We’ve had a look at just some of these amazing experiences to get you inspired to book.

P&O Cruises oasis spa

P&O Cruises: Wellness on Arvia

Cruise vacations can be high energy what with exciting ports of call, fast-tempo music nights and thrilling games with the gang, but sometimes you just need to indulge in a spot o’ me-time.

That’s where a trip to the spa comes in – Arvia’s Oasis Spa & Health Club, offering an array of traditional and cutting-edge wellness therapies and beauty treatments, is the place to relax, rejuvenate and recharge.

The only conundrum you’ll face here is what treatment to have and what wellness zone to escape to – and you’re not short of choice! There’s an invigorating Thermal Suite and Thalassotherapy with heated and cooling chambers, heated lounge chairs and a soothing pre-treatment Relaxation Lounge. Lovely! There’s also The Retreat, an outdoor sanctuary just for adults complete with loungers, a pool, refreshments and blissful vistas.

Want to ramp up the relaxation? There are 18 individual treatment rooms designed to soothe, complete with ocean views where you can give yourself over to the hands of the wellness pros to soothe away stress and rejuvenate the mind, body and soul (as if we needed persuading). These expert therapists offer a wide choice of body treatments, anti-ageing facials, facial rejuvenation and traditional Chinese medicine therapies.

On the menu during Arvia cruises are deep-tissue bamboo massages, aroma stone therapies and restorative salt stone massages – unique treatments that harness the healing power of warm blocks of mineral-rich Himalayan salt – to name a few. Gosh, we feel relaxed just hearing about it.

Suffering from aching joints, backs and muscles? Try the warming body balm and cooling seaweed mask of R3 Pain Management Therapy – Relax, Repair, Relief – which helps to ease inflammation and swelling. Ahhh that’s better.

There’s plenty of excuse to get glammed up on a P&O Cruises sailing and Arvia’s Oasis Spa & Health Club makes you fabulous on the outside too, with the Salon offer premium beauty and grooming services for women and men. Expect a speciality color bar, advanced technology, luxurious Kérastase hair treatments and expert technicians with beauty treatments ranging from blow-dries and beard trims to manicures and waxing.

Perhaps you want to keep tabs on your fitness while away? Easily achieved on Arvia! The Gym & Health Club boasts state-of-the-art Technogym equipment and plenty of gym classes to choose from, such as Tour de Cycle, Body Sculpt Bootcamp, Pure-Form Pilates and Yoga and Functional Stretch.

What’s more, the gym boasts the latest Evolt 360 body scanning technology so you can get a unique 360-degree picture of your physical conditioning to help set individual goals.

You don’t just need to rely on tech, though. Make the most of expert fitness guidance from professional personal trainers while wellbeing consultants can look after both mind and body, advising on nutrition, sleep and stress management. We might go home a whole new person at this rate!

P&O Cruises arvia shopping

P&O Cruises: Shopping on Arvia

Of course for some people the best therapy of all is retail therapy – and Arvia is here to deliver.

The Avenue boasts over 900sqm of open-plan shopping space showcasing premium fashion, accessories, fine watches, jewellery, beauty and wellness and more.

If you love your labels you’ll relish the presence of more than 200 brands including Mulberry, The White Company, RayBan, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Pandora, Apple, Marc Jacobs and Tom Ford, and there are 25-plus sustainable brands, too.

Arvia will also feature more experiential shopping zones, including an infinity table that showcases the latest in tech at sea and luxurious ‘try before you buy’ bars in beauty and liquor stores.

That’s not the only way you can get personally involved – there’s a fabulous ‘design your own’ fine jewellery bar; along with Pandora Brilliance’s lab-produced diamonds and the first-at-sea Swarovski ‘Wonder Lab’ Concept Store.

Dudes don’t worry, you’re far from forgotten – no need to trail behind awkwardly clutching your partner’s handbag here; there’s a new dedicated men’s area on Arvia where you’ll find a barber station and male grooming collections from leading brands such as American Crew, Clinique for Men, Barbour Pro and Clarins for Men.

P&O Cruises art gallery

P&O Cruises: Art on Arvia

Want to admire beautiful things but without the temptation of spending? Head to arty hotspot Whitewall Galleries which features a glut of original artwork, limited editions, sculptures and books.

Expect guest favourites such as Sherree Valentine-Daines, Fabian Perez and Philip Gray, as well as newer faces including Mr. Brainwash, Patrick Rubinstein and The Connor Brothers.

Art will be showcased at various events but you’ll also get a chance to learn more at seminars such as ‘Why Do People Spend Millions On Art?’ ‘Street Art; From Banksy to Mr. Brainwash,’ and ‘L.S. Lowry; 20th Century British Master.’

Fancy meeting the maker? On select Arvia cruise ship sailings in 2023 contemporary artists will come onboard to showcase bespoke collections as well as perform live painting demonstrations.

P&O Cruises photographer

P&O Cruises: Photography on Arvia

Perhaps you’d rather be in the finished product? The 21st century equivalent of Jack painting Rose, the Photo Gallery on Arvia lets you capture your special vacation moments. Guests can treat themselves to an exclusive photoshoot with a professional photographer who will take you to the best spots onboard and work with you to create a bespoke shoot.

There will also be a photographer around the ship on Celebration Nights and at dinner on Arvia cruises, so if you want your photo taken – simply ask!

There’s also a new 360 photo booth which captures the moment with stunning scenery as an immersive backdrop if you prefer something more fun and casual.

P&O Cruises shore excursions arvia people kayaking

P&O Cruises: Shore experiences

Lastly, you can spend your time on an Arvia cruise planning your time off it. While excursions are best booked ahead of the cruise, you can visit P&O Cruises’ onboad shore experiences team who can help you find and book your perfect day out. Whether you seek high-octane thrills or want to dive into a country’s history, there will be a trip that suits you.

On a Caribbean cruise? In St. Lucia you can take a speed boat to admire the magnificent Pitons before tucking into a barbecue lunch, while in Antigua you can explore the island’s markets and street-food culture on a walking tour.

In the Mediterranean with P&O Cruises? Explore the walled historic heart of Tuscan city Lucca by bike or see Barcelona from a fresh perspective on a coastal stand-up paddleboarding adventure.

Cruising the Canary Islands ? Meet some of Tenerife’s most famous chefs and winemakers or take a horse-riding expedition in Gran Canaria.

Whatever you fancy, the P&O Cruises shore experiences team will help you make it happen. And then you can hit the spa on your return.
