Press Releases

Royal caribbean introduces ultimate world tour, the farthest-reaching cruise to all seven continents.

MIAMI, Oct. 20, 2021* – Adventurers seeking to travel far and wide can now set off on a world tour of their own. Royal Caribbean International is raising the bar for world cruises with the debut of the inaugural Ultimate World Cruise , an epic 274-night adventure that visits all seven continents , more than 150 destinations in 65 countries and 11 great wonders of the world . This rich, immersive experience on Serenade of the Seas is the longest and most comprehensive world cruise out there, sailing roundtrip from Miami on Dec. 10, 2023 and through Sept. 10, 2024. Bookings for the full Ultimate World Cruise can be made by phone starting today , with an exclusive one-week window through Oct. 26 for Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor Society Diamond status members and above.

Travelers will sail to 57 destinations new to the cruise line and exclusive to the cruise itself. Highlights include Casablanca, Morocco; Qaqortoq, Greenland; and Shimizu, Japan – the gateway to Mount Fuji. Guests can delve deep into many of the world’s breathtaking wonders, from Peru’s Machu Picchu to the Taj Mahal in India, and experience distinct cultures and picturesque shores at every corner of the world all in one spectacular adventure – only on Royal Caribbean.

“This is the world cruise of world cruises,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International “Now more than ever, people have resolved to travel the world and make up for lost time. Royal Caribbean is making that a reality with the ultimate vacation that welcomes those seeking adventure and exploration to taste, dance and dream with us around the world. To travelers asking themselves where they should go next, we say everywhere.”

Guests ready to traverse the world can book the full Ultimate World Cruise today or choose from any of the four expeditions that will offer a wide range of destinations as soon as December 2021 – the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe:

  • Ultimate Americas Dec. 10, 2023 - Feb. 11, 2024 – Three continents, 36 destinations, four wonders The once-in-a-lifetime journey begins in Miami, the cruise capital of the world, and sets course for postcard-perfect Caribbean destinations – like the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) – before heading to glacier-studded Antarctica and around Cape Horn. Travelers can take in four of the world’s stunning wonders along the way in Central and South America, including Chichen Itza in Cozumel, Mexico; the largest art deco sculpture in the world, Christ the Redeemer , in Rio de Janeiro – where they’ll celebrate New Year’s Eve – and the largest waterfall system on the planet, Iguazu Falls near Buenos Aires, Argentina. One of the most iconic symbols of ancient Inca civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Machu Picchu , awaits in Peru, while sunshine and glamour will welcome guests in Los Angeles.
  • Ultimate Asia-Pacific Feb. 11 - May 9, 2024 – Three continents, 40 destinations, three wonders Guests will venture miles from the ordinary in Oceania, Asia and beyond on the cruise’s next showstopping leg. They can discover the beauty and adventure throughout the Hawaiian Islands’ world-renowned mountainous landscapes and black sand beaches before sailing south to Moorea and Tahiti, French Polynesia, for sapphire blue skies and crystal-clear waters. The thrills continue with an exploration of New Zealand, before a deep-dive into Australia’s Great Barrier Reef – the only living thing on the planet that’s visible from space. Pristine natural beauty in Bali, Indonesia, is soon followed by two of the most iconic manmade world wonders, the Great Wall of China and India’s Taj Mahal , and gems of the South Pacific – from Vietnam to Malaysia. Rounding out the expedition are endless possibilities in Japan, with unparalleled culture in Tokyo, street food in Osaka and the tropical beaches of Okinawa.
  • Ultimate Middle East and Med May 9 - July 10, 2024 – Three continents, 44 destinations, four wonders This expedition begins in glamorous Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and brings many of history’s greatest mysteries, myths and legends to life. Adventurers can uncover ancient sites and more world wonders from the times of emperors and pharaohs, like Jordan’s lost city of Petra , the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, Temple of Artemis in Ephesus, Turkey, and the Colosseum in Rome. There are also less-traveled places to explore, such as Greece’s Olympia, once a sanctuary site to honor Zeus and the location of the first Olympic games. The journey only continues to even more destinations known for their storied history — like Split, Croatia, and Cannes and Provence in France.
  • Ultimate Europe and Beyond July 10 - Sept. 10, 2024 – Three continents, 40 destinations The final leg of the Ultimate World Cruise is an immersive, cultural experience that begins in the Mediterranean and heads north. At travelers’ fingertips is the opportunity to discover Barcelona’s brilliant architecture, including Antoni Gaudi’s famed Sagrada Familia and whimsical Park Guell , and savor new flavors across continents — such as an indulgent lunch in a Parisian bistro and a dinner of tagine and mint tea in Morocco. Museums, theaters and galleries line the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia, while larger-than-life fjords await in Norway. Guests can reflect on their epic voyage in the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon in Iceland before visiting New York on their way back to Miami.

Globetrotters will explore the world in style on board Serenade , thanks to Royal Caribbean’s award-winning experiences and amenities. And adventurers can stay close to the action with the ship’s acres of glass, which offer panoramic views, as they cruise from one destination, continent and world wonder to the next. From start to finish, guests who book the full Ultimate World Cruise can expect a seamless, world-class travel experience that includes business class airfare, premium transportation as well as an evening of festivities and accommodations at a five-star hotel before setting sail. Plus, Crown & Anchor Society Platinum status members and above will receive a bonus Seven New World Wonders shore excursion package in addition to other perks, including a Deluxe Beverage package, VOOM Wi-Fi, laundry service and more.

Bookings for the entire Ultimate World Cruise open today for Diamond and above Crown & Anchor Society members. Guests interested in booking can call Royal Caribbean’s dedicated line for the Ultimate World Cruise at 800-423-2100 (US toll free) or their travel advisor.

After our upcoming Navigator cruise we will be flying out of Ft Lauderdale but the flight does not leave until 6:30 pm. So I am looking at taking the Hop On, Hop Off Miami city tour. I had a question for anyone who has done this. Where is the luggage kept while you are hon the hop on/hop off buses? Looks like once we have finished with the buses there are shuttles to the airport at 12 and 2 pm. I'm looking at the 2 pm since we do not leave till 6:30 pm.

(I found this review on the Royal website.)

Typical hop on/off tour, but nice way to see Miami if you are short of time.

Recommended - it's a typical hop on and off experience so you make a lot of stops. The guide on the first bus tended to repeat the same things but was more "fun" whereas the 2nd guide was more serious but didn't repeat - they were both fine. You get to the starting point in time for the 1st 9am bus. I took the beach tour. We did not get back in time for the 10:30 bus, so took a break and then got on the 11am city tour bus. Got back in time for lunch and to walk around a bit before the 2pm shuttle to the airport. My flight was at 4:45 and the shuttle got to the airport at 3pm (there was a little bit of traffic due to an accident.) Not sure why Royal says 6pm, but I guess they have to be careful and don't want anyone to miss their flight. The buses on the hour have a live English tour guide. I understand that the buses on the 1/2 hour had the multi-lingual tours. Warning - it began to pour rain around time for the 2pm bus to the airport. A couple on the shuttle were stuck on the top of the bus as the rain started when they were on the highway and unable to stop to move downstairs. Needless to say, they were soaked! I was carrying around an umbrella, but not sure if that would have helped them

Deeliteful

I often take a bus tour with drop off at the airport, great way to relax and not have to haul your luggage around and usually good value.

Luggage is under the bus.

Do they have luggage valet, so that you don't have to worry about luggage.

But this is listed as a hop on/ hop off tour which is normally multiple buses. How is that going to work if the luggage is in one bus? Am I missing something here?

I just pulled up the tour again and saw this. Sounds like the luggage is stored off the buses. Guess I should have done a better job of reading the first time. :o

  • This tour is available for guests with flights from Ft. Lauderdale airport after 2:30 p.m. (domestic) or 3:30 p.m. (international flights).
  • This tour includes luggage storage service and transfer to the airport.
  • This tour ends at Bayside Market where you will collect your luggage from the storage facility and board the complimentary shuttle to the airport.
  • Shuttles depart at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m

I've never seen luggage stored on a hop on/off bus. It is also unlikely the hop on/off bus will be the one to take you to the airport, so perhaps there is some central location from where your luggage will be kept and from where you will also catch the bus to the airport.

We did a HOHO bus in Miami after an NCL cruise and it worked better than I had expected. You get your luggage from customs and go to where the HOHO buses are parked. There they have a parked panel truck where they keep your luggage. You get a claim ticket for it and several people guard the truck while you are away. Your HOHO bus comes back to the pier to drop you off. When you return, you claim your luggage and get on the airport transfer bus. It was a nice way to spend the day before a late flight.

Thank you, that is what I needed. Sounds like a good way to kill some hours in Miami. :D

You can choose several routes and do as many as you have time for.

This sure doesn't sound like enough time to do the HOHO trips around Miami! 2:00 is the last to the airport???? My flight leaves at 8:30, so 5 1/2 hours there . . . . I wonder if they would hold the luggage if we took other transportation to the airport . . . . like a private shuttle service.

Can anyone tell me what time you depart from the ship for the tour? We did something similar in Ft. Lauderdale and I remember leaving around 8 AM. Trying to figure out if it's worth the money if we have to leave for the airport on the 1 PM shuttle. Thank you.

Nevermind. See that the reservation says 8:30 AM.

We did this last month. We had to be at studio b at 7:45. They gave everyone luggage tags then we had to depart and make our way to the bus. We gave our luggage marked with what shuttle time (we did the 1pm) and by 8:40 our hop on hop off bus was on our way. Our luggage was NOT on our bus. They bring it to bayside where it’s kept and secure.

We didn’t hop off but took the 1 1/2 hour tour then got off at bayside, shopped and got lunch at the hard rock. We headed to the designated area at 12:30 as advised and claimed our luggage and went to the bus to go to the airport. I thought it was a great use of time and fun.

My wife and I recently took a cruise out of Miami that went to Nassau and Coco Cay. This review is complicated because there were many factors at play that make up the reasoning behind my 3 stars. The main reason we were even on this cruise was for a wedding. This is where a lot of my review goes left. The bride went through such a hassle to get things perfect for her big day, and her wedding coordinator just seemed as if she would rather be anywhere else in the world. The bride did not even get to see the venue until 1 day before the wedding, though she had requested for photos several times, many months in advance. The online planner and on board planner never communicated with each other, and the bridal party just ended up winging it and pulling everything together last minute. We were still discussing arrangements and where everything would go where during rehearsal day. They had already moved the whole wedding day 1 day back from the brides original date, and I felt so bad that she had to make sacrifices to her day, to fit the needs of the staff at Royal Caribbean. on top of everything else the photographer charged them a set price for 30 pictures which I assumed got touched up and edited, but then when asked about the rest of the photos they charged them like 800 more to purchase the shots he was just gonna throw away.To add insult to injury, THE WEDDING PLANNER WORE A WHITE DRESS the day of the wedding. Like really? Outside of the wedding things were more relaxed. The guys who handled our luggage at the port were nice, and extremely helpful. The gentlemen that took care of our room was really nice. We came back each day to a towel on the bed folded into different animals, and he kept fresh towels and clothes in the room. We actually went and found him our last night to give him and extra tip for being so on top of everything. We had absolutely no issues in our room. Restaurant staff was excellent, and the lady that made sure people washed there hands before going into the dining area was hilarious with her "Washy Washy" hat. The bar staff was spotty at best. We had the premium unlimited drink package, but certain bar tenders and servers were super stingy with the pours. The higher you went up the shelf the smaller the pours were. I was drinking Hennessy at one point, and the guy was pouring half shots into my cocktail glass. How do I know it was half shots you ask? Because I poured the contents out into a shot glass I purchased in Nassau. You could only get a shot every 5 minutes, and you couldn't get doubles. Some would let you get a beer and some wouldn't. At the same time, my sister in law who was also drinking Hennessy was getting about 3 times as much in her cups as me, which made me think they were trying to specifically limit me (the big guy). The bartenders outside were a lot more relaxed then the ones inside. I had to devised plans all trip to beat this system, and be able to have a good time at night, because i'm really not a day drinker. The food in the buffet area was pretty good. They had a rather large selection of food, and each night had a different theme. One day they did Indian food, and the butter chicken was on point. Another day they did Jamaican and they had a pork shank that was epic. The main sit down dining area was decent, but The way they had the tables set up, we could never eat with certain members of our party because they were sat 2 tables away. The bridal party/ family was spread all throughout, and the night after the wedding there was a brief issue with the seating because obviously certain family were gonna wanna sit with the bride and groom, and certain people weren't going to want to dine with the kids. When we got to Nassau we took an excursion with a guy that lived on the island, and not booked through Royal Caribbean. It was lit and he took us through the ghetto where I purchased shot glasses, some cuban cigars and a bob marley shirt, but this part has no baring on the review because this was not apart of RCC. We also went over to Atlantis hotel and chilled in the casino. The shops inside were all designer stores Gucci, Chanel, etc... My last issue was while they were busy trying to limit my drinks, they should've been more up on the people actually acting out, and being disruptive. While at the bar on floor 14 it was a group of people being super disrespectful, and talking about fighting people on the dance floor. The next day, which was during the last night of our trip a member of our bridal party was assaulted in the jacuzzi by a group of young girls. This turned into a whole big thing, and brought our time on the ship to an abrupt halt. By the time security got there the damage was pretty much done, and the only thing to do was sort out what would happen going forward. The people were detained, but we were given mixed messages about the people not being charged because it happened on international water and also heard they got arrested in Miami.

Soooo I've recently had the privileged to cruise with RC on a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas and also to spend a day at Coco Cay .. Well for starters i'll say that the check in process was pretty dang fast like i mean from arriving in the Terminal and the bag hand off to the check in portion of where your show your covid test , even when you board the ship and have to do the safety portion of the cruise ALL of it was a smooth process... Now i did wait till a lil after 630 for my checked bag to reach my cabin so i was late for my dinner in the main dinning room but it was ok they still let me eat .. so let me start off with saying that i was very excited to go on the Booguee Cruise as me and my friend i was traveling with called it lol.. so I went ahead and paid everything up ahead of time cause i didn't want no issues when i got on the boat. So fast forward my friend ended up not coming cause of a family emergency, so the show must go on so i pushed forward and went on the cruise because i already paid for the trip with the anticipation of not having to worry about anything on the boat. So when i said it was a smooth check in process it was but there was so problems (SO remember i said my friend canceled last min cause she had a family emergency ) SO for starter I paid for a room upgrade to have a balcony cause i wanted to wake up and see the open seas .. ANDdddd i didn't get that i got what im assuming they consider a internal balcony ( which i dont know why you'd have to pay for that ) which is a PERCH at best!!!! and it facing the Promenade SMH.. Ok so at this point theres nothing i could do the boat was sold out so i was stuck with that room.. BUT then i find out that when they canceled my friends reservation they canceled out all of my extras i already paid for such as the Internet , Drink package ,& water park pass. So with that being done NOW i had to PAY for all these things again and here's the GAG all of these things are higher when your on the boat so here i am having a total internal panic attack trying not to show it while they explain things to me about how they refunded the money already and it was nothing they could do i had to pay it again ( thank god i had money for the trip ) So i won't lie it took me 2 days before i could even enjoy the cruise cause i was soooo annoyed behind having to pay again. So getting passed being annoyed i started to slowly enjoy my cruise going to the different restaurants well i love Chops the steak restaurant but the Italian restaurant i could have done without lol i would have preferred two nights of chops , but about this boat there is so much to do on the boat they have a Dope slide , flow rider wave simulator, rock climbing and even mini golf . I went on the slide a few times didn't get to do any of the other stuff but what i did do i had a great time , now let's talk about the drinks !! the drinks were good at some areas on the boat like the interior of the boat had the best drinks i was in love with the chocolate martinis they was hitting just right , but the drinks in the outer deck were to sweet or just nasty I'm surprised i didn't get a hangover. We spend a Day at Coco Cay and it was a good time there even thou i couldn't go to the water park i still was able to float around in the pool and use my drink package on the island where i had some of the best Hennessy Piña colada.. that was the only place to get henny on the trip the boat didn't have none that i saw , then i went and found the secret sandwich on the island which is a chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks it was so good. Though I couldn't go on any excursions on the island because the tide was low, I was thinking about doing a kayaking excursion but the tied with low they wasn't allowing us to go out andwater but overall I had a great day at Coco Cay I just wish that they would let us leave a little later instead of 4 o'clock.. What i wish the Freedom boat had was more specially Restaurants i went to Chops steak house and hand the lamb chops and it was delicious!!!! I went to the Italian Specially restaurant and i didn't care too much for the food there .. I'm Cabin Steward was so nice he took pictures of me being that i was alone and i really loved the towel buddies he made for me .. Overall i wanna try another one of RC ships and i hope it's a much better time but I'm giving it a rating of 2 1/2 but my TAN i got makes it a 3 also because the food was good and so were some of the drinks

Was on Explorer of the seas. So many issues. Stateroom was dated and linen was threadbare and just getting soap was difficult. Dining was a challenge. Had to wait almost two hours for one meal. On another meal could not get mashed rather than baked. Mashed was on the menu A guest reported a backed up urinal. Hours later still backing up. Not acceptable. A sign at the guest services said call and avoid lines. Called several times. Never answered. Not a single time did I walk a hall that was not cluttered with room service waste or carts. Once in a while I get. Not every time Exiting on deck one several time was bad as it always smelled like rotten eggs. Travelled 10 times with these guys. Never before had these issues. Never again.

I spent a four night cruise on the Navigator of the seas ton at Alina and Ensenada from LA and loved every second of it. It was a me time trip and really enjoyed it. The ship was great, service was outstanding and the food was delicious! Highly recommend a pamper time vacation.

Took a cruise from Miami on Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas. Amazing, beautiful very big ship. The food was awesome and the entertainment was top notch. There was wonderful entertainment each night and a variety of bars and restaurants to listen to live music or grab a bite to eat. Only complaint I have was the departure day was crazy hectic and not organized at all. People were blocking elevators, jam packed halls and terminal exit was down right dangerously overcrowded. Took almost two hours to leave the ship and grab a Uber with all the people. Other than that the cruise was great

Cruise date: December 16-21, 2018 Cruise ship: the navigator of the seas I had so much written for this review it wouldn't even take. Actually, in a word document it's 5 pages. So that alone should tell you my review isn't good. So my revised shortened review: The guy that kept the cabin straight was awesome. The upgraded steak restaurant (Chops) had the BEST goat cheese salad ever. I accidentally deleted the picture. The upgraded Italian restaurant (Giovanni's) was not good. While they pride themselves on homemade pasta the consistency of it was just too soft. Kind of melted in your mouth and that's just not what I am used to. Customer service desk, Sara was very nice and tried to help. Everyone else not so helpful. Spa- horrible service I split a balcony room with two others and I ended up on the couch which was ridiculously filthy. See photos. Of course you never know when you will get bad service but from all of this experience I learned to research the ships and cruise lines better and look at reviews and read what people have to say. I will never cruise with Royale Caribbean again, that I know for sure.

Our family has been on a number of royal Caribbean cruises over the last several years. We have yet to be disappointed by any of them. This last cruise we went on was better than any of the other ones because they went to 4 ports instead of three. I prefer going to ports instead of being at sea. Their private island is very exceptional. It had great snorkeling, great swimming, all the free food that you would normally get on the ship was served on the island. If you want to do water parks or other type of paid adventures you can do that or you can just go there and enjoy the free beach with free lifejackets. If there was one area I'd say that the Royal Caribbean cruise line needs to do a little better in that would be offering more fresh fruit type treats as desserts and better desserts. The desserts are pretty substandard and not really worth it in my opinion. I also don't always wanna go and sit down for dinner but if you don't go and sit down and get dressed up and don't get as good of food. I would rather not have to sit for two hours in the evening in order to get lobster or decent exceptional meal. Sometimes I just wanna go to the cafeteria be quick about it but still get good quality like lobster. Overall though I would go on another royal Caribbean cruise in a heartbeat. One thing I didn't notice with this last trip compared to many of our previous trips was that they really got the check in process down. There were no lines or waiting we literally walked right onto the ship that was amazing. Even with all the showing your Covid vaccine etc. they were efficient. The exit off the ship was just as efficient. As long as you have a passport there's no stopping they have a photo ID that identifies you on your passport and customs is a breeze you don't have to stop for anything literally again just walk off the ship. Two really great new features that they've done.

I was really torn on what to give the cruise line as whole over all ... initially this was supposed to be a cruise to Cuba but thanks to our genius of a president we could no longer go I think Royal did a good job in changing plans & offering it's passengers a decent enough alternative. We kept the cruise because it ended up being a good deal in the end. The cruise destinations ended up being nice Cococay, Bahamas .. Puerto Rico , St Croix & St Thomas we really enjoyed our stops & the activities we did in each island. Our ship was not the best over all the smallest & oldest ship for Royal - The Empress of the Seas activities wise not the most fun or relate-able for young adults but the service on board & food was great.

How a 7 day cruise turned into a 2 day cruise plus the day you get off. Royal Caribbean has been our go to cruise line for a long time. (We just turned Emerald). We were ready to get out on the ocean once again because we disconnect and really relax. It is a great vacation until illness hits. As we boarded on April 24, Sunday we were fine for that day as well as April 25. On the 26th we went up to Windjammer for late lunch and within an hour Tom started to get sick. . All thru the nt. of the 26 he was very sick with Gastrointestinal Illness. Went to Doctor on ship 27th in the AM. They said it was food poisoning as his test was negative for the Norovirus. An IV was given due to dehydration, plus meds. He was placed in isolation. They say 1 day, but we are talking the 26,27,28,29= 4 days, also count 1 addl. day of no ability to appreciate vacation due to weakness and inability to move about. It should also be counted. They said room service and laundry services would be taken care of however both appeared on bill. Who has Food Poisoning and recovers in 1 Day? Why was Customer Service not caring ? Why did I have to clean room and place all items I collected into a hazmat bag? We were left to deal with everything ourselves in addition to being treated like he had the plague. Royal did not care about us or the fact that the food poisoning came from the ship. The overall experience - the way this was handled, the food that we were able to eat was NOT as good as what we have experienced before on Royal or any of the other cruise lines and the cost of everything on the ship has driven us to find other alternatives even though we are Emerald status with Royal. We are sailing away from Royal Caribbean !! What a disappointment. Is money all you care about? What happened to Customer Satisfaction? A satisfied customer comes back again and again, isn't that what you want? I understand hard times, but this is not the way to make up for lost revenue.

My first time using this cruise line myself and 3 others booked a cruise to cuba and bahamas. After a cruise travel ban to cuba was announced by president orange, our trip was rerouted to Cococay, San Juan Puerto rico, St.Croix & St.Thomas one week prior to our departure date. My company all have been to P.R. but not I. For the inconvenience, Royal Caribbean offered a full refund or a 50% discount to keep the changed itinerary. That was an offer we couldn't refuse. Their staff are highly professional, engaging and very friendly. They also offer quite a few discount cruise packages while sailing with them. They aren't big on being a party boat cruise line, but they are a very accommodating cruise line with good rewards programs. I recommend Royal Caribbean purely on their customer service alone. Look for my empress of the seas review for more.

15 top adults-only cruises for 2025 & 2026.

Pack your bags and leave the kids behind for your next cruise adventure.

Top Adults-Only Cruises

If your idea of getting away from it all includes a vacation without the kids, consider booking an adults-only or adults-oriented cruise . While some lines provide a fully adults-only experience (i.e., children are not allowed on board), others offer adult-focused venues and activities on the ship to keep you separate from younger patrons.

The following cruise lines provide upscale amenities, immersive excursions, sophisticated dining options, lively nighttime entertainment and time for relaxation among like-minded – and similarly aged – travelers.

Find your perfect cruise

Viking Ocean Cruises

Viking Star Explorers' Lounge at night.

Travelers ages 18 and older are welcome aboard Viking 's adults-only ships, which feature destination-focused itineraries around the world. The line's 11 oceangoing ships carry between 930 and 998 guests (at double occupancy) and offer luxurious, comfortable Scandinavian-style spaces. The line will add Viking Vesta to its ocean fleet in 2025.

Viking's exploration program boasts special access to behind-the-scenes experiences curated for travelers who are interested in history, food, the arts or science. Immerse yourself in local culture with a visit to a traditional family farm near Bergen, Norway, or spend an evening dining on Chinese specialties at a home-hosted dinner in Shanghai .

In addition to these off-the-beaten-path excursions, guests can visit iconic sites like the ancient city of Ephesus (Kuşadasi) in Turkey and the Acropolis in Athens, Greece . Viking also hosts onboard enrichment programs like cooking classes and lectures by historians. Cruise fares include stateroom accommodations with a private veranda, all meals (including specialty dining venues), wine and beer at onboard lunch and dinner, 24-hour room service, one free excursion per port, complimentary Wi-Fi access, and access to onboard amenities such as the Nordic Spa and fitness center.

In addition to its ocean vessels, Viking offers river cruises in destinations around the world – including Mississippi River cruises aboard Viking Mississippi. The line also has two Polar Class 6 expedition ships, Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris, which traverse waterways from Canada, the U.S. and South America to remote destinations in Antarctica and the Arctic.

Virgin Voyages

Virgin Voyages offers an adults-only retreat for guests ages 18 and older. The line currently has three sister ships: Scarlet Lady (the first in the fleet), Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady . The line's fourth ship, Brilliant Lady, is set to debut in September 2025.

All the ships in this adults-only cruise line feature 1,404 cabins (most with balconies) and RockStar Quarters suites, where guests have access to Richard's Rooftop, an exclusive outdoor deck space. The superyacht-inspired vessels boast 20-plus eateries, including restaurants by Michelin-starred chefs, and a variety of onboard fitness and wellness spaces. At Redemption Spa, relax and recharge in the mud room or salt therapy chamber – and then take rejuvenating dips in the hot and cold plunge pools. You can even order a bottle of bubbly anywhere on the ship via the Virgin Voyages app's secret "Shake for Champagne" feature.

Itineraries on Virgin Voyages span destinations in the Caribbean, Europe and Morocco, as well as trans-Atlantic crossings. The line will also feature 21 new ports across its global fleet in 2025, including destinations in Iceland, Turkey, Oman, Italy, Portugal, the Cayman Islands and more. Cruise fares cover meals at all the dining venues and basic beverages such as soda, water, tea and coffee. Gratuities for the crew, Wi-Fi access, entertainment and group fitness classes are also included. While on board, be sure to indulge in a swanky dinner at The Wake and an immersive show at The Red Room, a unique multiform theater at sea.

P&O Cruises

P&O Cruises ship at port at sunset.

Courtesy of P&O Cruises

Two ships in P&O Cruises' U.K.-based fleet – Arcadia and Aurora – are exclusively for adults 18 and older. Arcadia, the slightly newer of the two ships (debuted in 2005), carries 2,094 guests at double occupancy, plus 866 crew. The ship departs from Southampton in the U.K. and sails to a variety of European destinations, ranging from Spain and the Canary Islands to Norway and Iceland; some cruises visit the U.S. and Canada. The ship will also sail world cruises in January 2025 and 2026.

Arcadia's 15 restaurants, cafes and bars include Indian cuisine with a British twist at Sindhu, as well as steaks and seafood by renowned British chef Marco Pierre White at Ocean Grill. Passengers can take a class to sample the line's branded gins; sip Champagne at Intermezzo, the ship's cocktail and Champagne venue; or enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif at the yacht-inspired Spinnaker. After exploring exciting ports of call, head back on board to enjoy Arcadia's elegant interiors and top-notch service. You can splurge on a stone therapy treatment and a visit to the thermal suite at the spa for some extra pampering, followed by a live show at the three-tiered theater, The Palladium. Then, finish off the evening dancing the night away at The Globe.

Aurora is a slightly more intimate ship, carrying 1,874 passengers (double occupancy) and 850 crew members. A four-level atrium gallery sits at the heart of the vessel. Itineraries include destinations in the Mediterranean, the Baltic, the British Isles, Iceland, the Caribbean and South America. There are 19 restaurants, bars and cafes on the ship, including club-style restaurant Alexandria and casual spots like The Beach House. After dinner, live entertainment and dancing await you at the show lounge Carmen's, as do larger productions at the ritzy 660-seat Curzon Theatre.

Top Cruises Designed for Adults

While some all-inclusive – or mostly all-inclusive – boutique and luxury cruise lines are family-friendly, many of the onboard venues and activities are adult-by-design. Since there are few (or no) activities geared toward younger cruisers and no babysitting services, you typically won't find parents with young children on these ships.

Aerial shot of the Azamara ship sailing into the sunset.

Courtesy of Azamara

Azamara's four upscale boutique ships provide immersive travel experiences geared toward adults. These smaller ships – accommodating a maximum of 702 guests – sail waterways and rivers that larger ships can't access, docking in city centers and unique ports of call around the globe.

Many Azamara voyages also offer longer stays and overnights in port, unlike some competitors' itineraries. Some even feature special events, such as a 12-night voyage from Rome to watch the Monaco Grand Prix in May 2025, or a 25-night cruise in February 2025 from Buenos Aires, Argentina , to attend Carnival in Rio de Janeiro . In addition, the line is extending its offerings on Country Intensive voyages in 2024 and 2025 with itineraries in various continental European countries, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Iceland and Australia.

On board, you'll find a wide selection of casual and formal dining options ranging from Windows Cafe to the main dining room, Discoveries Restaurant. Specialty restaurant offerings include top-notch steak and seafood at Prime C and Italian fare at Aqualina. Atlas Bar is a unique venue on Azamara Onward (the line's newest ship), though its artisanal cocktail menu is also available on the line's other ships. Discoveries Lounge is another guest-favorite spot, and wine aficionados will enjoy pairing limited-production and rare vintages from the Wine Cellar with dinner.

Cruise fares include stateroom accommodations; select spirits, wine and beer; gratuities; 24-hour room service; and nonalcoholic beverages. You'll also have access to complimentary AzAmazing Celebrations with special evening and daytime events ashore and on the ship. You can purchase a package that includes additional amenities like unlimited Wi-Fi, specialty dining, shore excursion credits and other perks. Butler service and other extras come with suite accommodations.

When it launched in 2019, Scenic Eclipse I was touted as "The World's First Discovery Yacht." The intimate vessel offers an all-inclusive, ultra-luxurious experience for just 228 guests (double occupancy). The line's second luxury yacht, Scenic Eclipse II, which is nearly identical to its sister ship, debuted from Lisbon, Portugal , in April 2023. The Polar Class 6 rating enables these two yachts to sail to destinations like Antarctica; on these expedition-style voyages, the ship carries only 200 guests and offers a nearly one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio.

All suite accommodations include a private veranda or terrace; butler service; state-of-the-art amenities; a king-size Scenic Slumber Bed; and an in-suite minibar stocked with wine, spirits and other personally selected beverages. You'll also find indulgences like onboard helicopters for intimate excursions and the line's submersibles for underwater exploration.

Guests can enjoy up to 10 dining experiences on the ship, including French fine dining at Lumière; innovative Asian flavors at Koko's Asian Fusion; Italian, steak and seafood specialties at Elements; or an immersive dining experience at Chef's Garden @ Epicure. When it's time for an after-dinner drink, sample craft cocktails or the impressive selection of whiskeys available at Scenic Lounge Bar. Other onboard activities include getting an invigorating treatment at Senses Spa or just relaxing with Champagne and spectacular views on deck 10 at the Sky Bar.

Scenic's ships sail to destinations in Australia and the South Pacific; Europe and the Mediterranean; Asia; the Americas and the Caribbean; and the polar regions of Antarctica and the Arctic.

Silversea's 11 ultra-luxury ships and expedition vessels range in size from 51 to 364 suites and boast spacious ocean view accommodations – most with private verandas. Cruise fares cover door-to-door transfers from home to the ship, including airfare (business class in some destinations) and pre- and post-cruise hotel stays. On board, guests will have butler service, a nearly one-to-one ratio of guests to staff, 24-hour gourmet dining, premium alcoholic beverages, one complimentary shore excursion in each port, gratuities and more.

Silver Ray is set to become the 12th ship in the Silversea fleet when it debuts in summer 2024. The luxury vessel adds more open spaces and top-notch cuisine. Silver Ray is also the second vessel in the fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is billed as a more sustainable cruise ship.

Four of the line's ships are purpose-built expedition vessels that sail to the farthest reaches of the Earth, including Antarctica, the Arctic and Greenland, French Polynesia and the Pacific, Asia, and more. On these sailings, guests will experience immersive exploration with as many as 28 expedition staff per cruise. Unique upcoming itineraries visit Greenland and the Arctic Circle, as well as remote locales like Robinson Crusoe Island, Tahiti and more.

Seabourn features an all-inclusive adult-focused experience on its five luxury ocean vessels and two expedition ships. One of the line's newest ships, Seabourn Pursuit, is an ultra-luxury Polar Class 6 purpose-built expedition vessel with 132 oceanfront veranda suites. The ship is equipped with two submarines for underwater exploration, kayaks and 24 Zodiacs. There's also a 24-person expedition team to assist guests with exploring far-reaching destinations like Antarctica, the Arctic, the Kimberley region of Australia, the Amazon and the Northwest Passage.

The new Seabourn Ovation accommodates up to 600 guests (double occupancy) and offers amenities found on most of Seabourn's ships: well-appointed oceanfront suites, living areas with dining tables, verandas and nearly a one-to-one staff-to-guest ratio. Guests can try Seabourn's new Mediterranean venue, Solis, on four of the line's ships, including Ovation. You'll also find health and wellness programs curated by Dr. Andrew Weil.

The Seabourn Conversations program is another highlight. Accomplished experts host adventures ashore, participate in meals and chat with guests on board. For a special treat, don't miss the Caviar in the Surf beach party. This event (available in select destinations) includes chilled Champagne, caviar, music and a barbecue set against a backdrop of white sand beaches and turquoise waters.

Windstar's six intimate ships accommodate between 148 and 342 guests. Passengers can choose between cruising on one of the line's three-masted Wind Class vessels or one of its three Star Plus Class ships.

Windstar just announced the addition of two new ships to its fleet; Star Seeker is expected to launch in December 2025, followed by Star Explorer in December 2026. These two vessels will feature 112 suites with private verandas and infinity windows, two Owner's Suites with wraparound balconies, a water sports platform, a two-story spa and fitness center, and more. The ships are constructed with ice-strengthened hulls that position them for exploration in remote destinations like Antarctica.

Windstar's adult-focused and casual – but still elegant – onboard experiences feature locally inspired top-notch dining, guest lecturers, a water sports platform on all ships, an open bridge policy and an engaging social environment. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, Windstar is also regarded as one of the most romantic cruise lines for a wedding, honeymoon , vow renewal or anniversary trip, especially in magical destinations like the South Pacific or Europe.

Windstar's smaller ships can reach ports, coves, harbors and villages that are not accessible by larger vessels. They also offer more than 2,000 immersive cultural experiences in port, many with small groups. You'll find culinary-themed voyages in partnership with the James Beard Foundation, as well as wine-focused itineraries around the world. What's more, Windstar's itineraries offer late evenings and overnights in its ports of call, allowing guests to experience local culture and cuisine after dark.

Windstar will begin sailing in South America in December 2025 with the 312-passenger (double occupancy) Star Pride, offering excursions to UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the town of Cusco , Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands .

Other Top Adults-Only Cruise Options

While these larger ships offer activities for families and children of all ages, adults can also find hidden retreats and venues just for grown-ups. These spaces are typically quieter and situated away from the crowds.

Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises offers spaces created with adult guests in mind. On Celebrity Beyond and the newest addition to the fleet, Celebrity Ascent , adults can have a unique dining experience at Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud. The world-renowned Global Culinary Ambassador for the line, Daniel Boulud created the menu at this elegant venue, incorporating dishes inspired by his travels. You'll also find an impressive wine list to accompany your dining experience.

When it's time to relax, The Solarium is a popular adults-only area located on the Resort Deck of all Celebrity ships. This light-filled pool area encased by a glass dome is the perfect quiet space for reading a book or taking a nap. While there, you can also grab a light breakfast or lunch at the Spa Cafe and Juice Bar, or order your favorite cocktail while lounging in the hot tub.

Other adult-focused venues to check out on Celebrity Ascent, Beyond and Apex are the new elevated bar spaces. The Edge series World Class Bar – a popular spot on other Celebrity Cruises ships – features craft cocktails in a beautiful setting. And don't miss the two-story Sunset Bar on Celebrity Ascent, a reimagined space by interior designer and TV personality Nate Berkus. The aft location of the bar offers almost twice the space as previous iterations and beautiful wake views.

Princess Cruises

The Sanctuary, a retreat for guests ages 18 and older, offers an escape from bustling public spaces. The relaxing top-deck venue is available on all Princess Cruises ships and features plush lounge chairs, a spa-like setting and Serenity Stewards, who serve light bites and other refreshments. To fully unwind, consider reserving a private cabana, where you can book an open-air massage. The child-free venue varies from ship to ship, with some offering the exclusive Retreat pool, cabanas and a bar area, and newer iterations featuring more space.

Spellbound by Magic Castle is an exciting new venue aboard the line's newest ship, Sun Princess, for adults 21 and older. The collaboration with The Magic Castle private club in Hollywood offers guests an evening of magic, illusions and theatrical cocktails in a Victorian-inspired space.

If you're heading off the ship for an excursion to Princess Cays (the cruise line's private island in the Bahamas), plan to chill out for the day in an adults-only Sanctuary Bungalow. Located just minutes from the ocean and beach, the rentals accommodate four people, and the price includes two complimentary float rentals. You can also order a gourmet picnic to enjoy while lounging on shore.

Back on the ship, adults can reserve a spot for the line's new Winemaker Dinners, a partnership with Caymus Vineyards. These 12-guest evenings are offered fleetwide, two to three times during each cruise. Winemaker Chuck Wagner personally selected the wines from the notable Napa Valley winery to pair with the elevated five-course menu.

Carnival Cruise Line

The Serenity Adult-Only Retreat is located on all of Carnival Cruise Line 's ships. Access to this tranquil outdoor hideaway is complimentary for passengers 21 and older. While there, guests can enjoy relaxing loungers, daybeds and whirlpools. Take in the warm sun and ocean breeze with a signature sangria in hand, or stop for a healthy meal at the Fresh Creations salad bar (available on select ships) for an alfresco lunch.

Disney Cruise Line

Though Disney Cruise Line tends to attract families and younger travelers, it also offers multiple spaces and activities for adults 18 and older. Disney's newest ship, Disney Wish , boasts several luxurious adults-only venues featuring characters and scenes from "Beauty and the Beast."

For top-notch steaks, contemporary Italian cuisine and panoramic ocean views, make a reservation at the Cogsworth-inspired Palo Steakhouse. If you prefer French-style fare and world-class wines served in an elegant and shimmering setting, Enchanté by three-Michelin-starred chef Arnaud Lallement is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two. Before dinner at either venue, enjoy a signature cocktail at The Rose. After dinner, you won't want to miss the galactic libations and ever-changing views of faraway galaxies at the adults-only Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge bar.

Depending on the ship, adult travelers can also dance the night away in a trendy club, watch live entertainment or a cabaret show, catch a sports game on satellite TV, or relax with an after-dinner cocktail at a bar or lounge. Outdoors, the kid-free Quiet Cove Pool is a tranquil place to relax on all the ships. For even more pampering, Senses Spa & Salon boasts treatment rooms with ocean views, luxurious spa villas and other amenities. On Castaway Cay, Disney Cruise Line 's private island, adults can head to Serenity Bay – a scenic, adults-only stretch of the beach.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line has three adults-only outdoor venues for guests 18 and older (though specific spaces vary by ship). On Norwegian 's Bliss, Escape, Getaway and Breakaway ships, the Vibe Beach Club sun deck invites guests to relax in oversized hot tubs and comfy daybeds, adding perks like a full-service bar and chilled towels. Guests can enjoy two-story beach clubs on Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Encore, while the clubs on Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva include the line's first infinity hot tubs. You can purchase a multiday pass in advance for the club, and cabana rentals are available for more privacy.

At Norwegian Epic's two-level Posh Beach Club, complimentary perks include fruit skewers, cold water spritzers and a snack menu. Multiday passes are available to all adult cruisers, while travelers who book a Haven suite can access Posh Beach Club for free. Spice H2O is another adults-only venue on the Norwegian Bliss, Joy, Escape, Getaway, Breakaway, Epic, Star and Spirit vessels; access is complimentary. At night, the space becomes an open-air dance club where you can spend the evening partying under the stars.

Royal Caribbean International

The Solarium on the Spectrum of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International.

Solarium is Royal Caribbean International 's complimentary, child-free space open to guests 18 and older. Located at the front of every ship in the fleet, this indoor-outdoor oasis (or indoor-only on Quantum Class ships) offers impressive vistas and endless views of the sea. Thanks to a full glass canopy over the interior space, adult passengers can enjoy quiet lounging areas, swimming pools and whirlpool tubs with a view, no matter the weather. Select ships feature a cascading lagoon for further relaxation.

Be sure to grab a tropical cocktail or zero-proof drink at Solarium Bar (or Sunshine Bar, on Quantum ships) to sip poolside while enjoying the ocean vistas. Guests of both bars must be at least 21 years old when sailing from North America or a minimum of 18 when departing from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Adult cruisers (18 and older) can relax and chill out at the first suspended infinity pool at sea at The Hideaway on Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Icon of the Seas. The beach-vibe neighborhood, perched eight stories above the sea at the back of the ship, features Champagne cocktails, a DJ spinning tunes, full-size daybeds, a wraparound bar, and endless ocean and sunset views from the multilevel terrace.

Frequently Asked Questions

"Adults-only cruise ships – or adults-only spaces on cruise ships – have become increasingly popular over the years," says Chris Gray Faust, executive editor at Cruise Critic. "That's not only because fewer people are having families. It's also because parents themselves often want the chance to get away, either by themselves for a romantic trip or with friends to celebrate a special occasion, girls' or guys' weekend, or milestone birthdays."

"I seek out adult spaces on cruise ships primarily because I want my experience on a ship to mirror my life on land – a little quieter, with more sophisticated food and drink options," she explains. "I also appreciate the opportunity to connect with my friends who are parents in a space where we can have personal one-on-one conversations or let loose a bit with some drinks. Adults with children are more than just their kids, after all – and they also appreciate a space where they don't have to worry about their little ones."

Anne Scully, a partner at the luxury travel company EMBARK Beyond, says, "With so many cruise lines and sailings, it's always a good idea to have options – and adults-only cruises are very popular." She adds, "Viking and Virgin have always focused on adults-only cruises and most river cruises also cater to adult passengers."

Adults-only cruises are designed with guests ages 18 and older in mind, from the staterooms and dining venues to the onboard entertainment and shore excursions. What you typically won't find on board are water or theme parks, climbing walls, game rooms, and restaurants serving kid-friendly foods.

If you're looking for a relaxing, fun and romantic vacation without the kids in tow – and you don't want to deal with the other passengers' children on your getaway – consider booking a sailing specifically for cruisers at least 18 years old. Alternatively, select a cruise line or ship that caters to mostly adults and doesn't offer any services, kids clubs, babysitting or activities for children.

You don't have to be a kid to be a Disney Cruise Line fan. While the line does not have an adults-only vessel within the fleet, there are plenty of kid-free spaces for adults only. Adults can enjoy cocktails, dinner and entertainment in several venues and relax at designated pool areas on the ship. There's also private, adults-only stretch of beach, Serenity Bay, on the line's private island, Castaway Cay.

In addition, Disney offers one of the best programs to keep youngsters entertained at sea, so you'll find that many of the children hang out in the kids club during the day and in the evening. These club spaces are divided by age groups, and they're typically open until midnight or 1 a.m. so parents – and even adults without kids – can enjoy a night out on the ship sans kids.

Nude cruise to set sail from Florida next year: Here are the starting costs, itinerary

royal caribbean miami tours

The "Big Nude Boat" cruise, which allows passengers to bare all − yes, even at the buffet − is set to sail from Florida next year.

The "11-day adventure" to the Caribbean is set for the first two weeks of February on the Norwegian Pearl, according to the Bare Necessities Tour & Travel website.

"Bare Necessities’ newest nude cruise is a private island double-dip with a brand new travel partner!" the company wrote on its website.

The trip which embarks from Miami, includes "an exclusive visit to an idyllic private island" in The Bahamas as well a another exclusive stop on the way back to the Port of Miami.

"Two opportunities to enjoy a new slice of Bare-adise, coupled with a beautiful selection of Eastern Caribbean island stops, will make this a can’t miss Big Nude Boat experience," the travel company posted.

Why cruises are popular with swingers: 'What happens on the ship ... stays on the ship'

A cruise to nowhere: Royal Caribbean sailing canceled after guests boarded

Big Nude Boat cruise sailing dates and destinations:

The ship departs from the Port of Miami on Feb. 3 and returns to the same port on Feb. 14.

The itinerary includes stops at the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique and St. Lucia.

How much does the Big Nude Boat cruise cost?

Rates for an inside cabin start at $2,000 per person.

They stretch as high as $33,155 for the top room on the ship: a Haven three-bedroom garden villa.

Laws of the land (and sea)

Guests are encouraged to park their bare behinds on towels provided on board in areas including the pool deck and the buffet area, according to the website.

"Passengers can easily follow our rule on nudist etiquette by always placing a towel down before sitting," it reads. "Remember to pack a swimsuit; not all excursions are clothing optional."

Royal Caribbean worker arrested at Port Everglades for child sexual abuse material, authorities say

Ryan Mackey , Digital Journalist

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A Royal Caribbean crew member was arrested Wednesday after federal agents said they found child pornography material on his phone after he disembarked at Port Everglades.

According to court documents released Thursday, federal agents with the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force searched the phone of 35-year-old Zin Naing Htun, a Myanmar national, after he got off the ship on Wednesday.

Recommended Videos

Authorities said during a search of Htun’s cellphone, they located two videos depicting child sexual abuse material.

Htun’s arrest report states that the first video was just over four minutes long and depicted a girl, approximately 10-12 years of age.

The second video, which authorities say was titled “browser,” was located in an app on Htun’s cellphone, which contained a six-minute video of a female approximately 12-14 years of age, according to the report.

According to investigators, Htun waived his Miranda rights when speaking with detectives, but his exact statement was redacted in the publicly released report.

Court documents show Htun is facing two charges of possession of child pornography.

His arrest report states that he has no ties to South Florida.

Local 10 News has reached out to Royal Caribbean for comment and is awaiting a response.
