S club 7 reunited tour setlist 2023: what songs can we expect.

While we obviously don’t know details of the group’s upcoming tour setlist, we’re certain you can expect all the hits (and a few surprises). Let’s remind ourselves of S Club’s Bring It All Back 2015 tour setlist:

Bring The House Down

S club party, you’re my number one, love ain’t gonna wait for you, two in a million, stronger (tina barrett solo), reach (acoustic) (paul cattermole solo), straight up (paul abdul cover) (hannah spearritt solo), hello friend (jon lee and jo o’meara duet), have you ever, good times/friday night/dance dance dance/do it ‘till we drop/who do you think you are (bradley mcintosh dj set), some girls/sweet dreams my la ex (rachel stevens solo), viva la fiesta, bring it all back, uptown funk (mark ronson and bruno mars cover), say goodbye, never had a dream come true, don’t stop movin’, watch our exclusive chat with s club 7’s jo, tina and rachel below:.

Will S Club 7 release new music in 2023?

Asked if we can expect some new S Club tunes on the BRITs red carpet, Jo said: "Wait till Monday!"

Then, at the group's press conference hosted by BBC Radio 2's Scott Mills, Jon said: "It's something we have spoken about and something we'd all definitely be up for, but at the moment we're just seeing how the tour goes."

Will S Club Juniors be going on tour with S Club 7 as support act?

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that the official S Club 7 Instagram account follows only Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment, the band members and S Club Juniors ’ Frankie Bridge, Rochelle Humes, Aaron Renfree, Calvin Goldspink, Jay Perry, Hannah Richings, Stacey Franks and Daisy Shelvey.

Why’s that, then?

Speaking to us on the BRITs red carpet, the group said: “We’re all S Clubbers, aren’t we? You’ve got to have the S!”

Interesting...

At the group's press conference, Jo addressed speculation saying: "We're [keeping it] open. It'd be lovely to get somebody who's not done it before; somebody new and fresh. It'd be nice to open up a career to somebody else, but you never know."

When did S Club 7 last reunite?

In November 2014, the group reformed to announce a twelve-date 2015 UK arena. The band also reissued their Best: The Greatest Hits of S Club 7 collection with a previously-unreleased fan favourite track, Rain.

It looks like Simon Ellis - BRIT Award-winning producer and the man behind the group's Bring It All Back 2015 tour arrangements - will return for the band's '23 shows.

Will S Club 7's TV series - Miami 7, LA 7 and more - be available on streaming?

When we asked the group if we can expect their shows on streaming, Jon assured us: "That's something we're talking about and looking into what platform it's going to go on. It's something that will almost definitely be happening. You can only get it on VHS at the moment, that's how old we are!"

S Club Opens Reunion Tour With Paul Cattermole Tribute: ‘You’ll Never Be Forgotten’

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

The opening show of S Club ‘s long-awaited 25th-anniversary reunion tour was as much a celebration of their time together as it was a celebration of Paul Cattermole, the longtime member of the British pop group who died earlier this year from an underlying heart condition at the age of 46.

Kicking off the tour in Manchester at AO Arena, the group — now a five-piece following the death of Cattermole in April and the departure of singer Hannah Spearrit — reunited for the first time in eight years. On stage, they took stock of how much has changed in just the last six months.

“That’s our brother right there, man,” Bradley McIntosh said at the show, glancing up at the emotion-stirring montage of images highlighting Cattermole throughout his life. “Gone, but you’ll never be forgotten. We miss you every single day.”

McIntosh performed throughout the night alongside his group mates Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, and Rachel Stevens. The montage played during their performance of “Good Times” and featured footage of Cattermole singing the deep cut from 2001’s Sunshine .

In her tribute to Cattermole, O’Meara added: “Thank you so much [for] all the messages and love and support you’ve all shown all of us and to Paul’s family. We are so grateful for every single one of you.” Before playing their debut single “Bring It All Back,” Barrett thanked the crowd, saying: “Thank you so much Manchester. Tonight is a celebration so let’s bring it all back for Paul.”

For Stevens, it was all a display of how far they’ve come and all that they have built over the past 25 years. “Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support, all the incredible messages you’ve sent through this time, and all your support always,” she said. “We love you so much.”

Formed in 1998 by pop svengali Simon Fuller, S Club 7 went on to become one of the U.K.’s biggest pop bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Along the way, the seven-strong act landed four U.K. No. 1 singles (“Bring It All Back,” “Never Had A Dream Come True,” “Don’t Stop Movin’” and “Have You Ever”) and a No. 1 album with 2000’s 7 .

Fans will remember that they also starred on the family sitcom  Miami 7/S Club 7 in Miami,  about seven friends who relocate to Miami in search of fame, playing exaggerated versions of their own personalities. (The show aired on ABC Family in the United States.)

The group disbanded in 2003, with Stevens going on to enjoy a high-profile pop career in her homeland, bagging five top 10 singles, including No. 2s for “Sweet Dreams My LA Ex” (2003) and “Some Girls” (2004).

Then, in 2014 , the singers joined forces once more to perform for the BBC Children In Need appeal. The reunion gathered pace when a U.K. tour was booked the following year.

More on the 2023 tour will be revealed at a press conference Tuesday morning (Feb. 14), streamed live on Instagram and YouTube.

British teen pop sensations, S Club 7, now known simply as S Club, scored a string of international hits before declining in popularity and becoming a nostalgic novelty.

Constructed by Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller, the band had been assembled in 1999 after auditions of over 10,000 hopefuls. Deciding on Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Paul Cattermole, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara and Tina Barrett, the band first gained exposure through the children’s television series, “Miami 7,” which captured the lives of the young bandmates as they tried to find success in the Floridian, US, city.

Their self-titled debut album followed after the first series, with the singles, “Bring It All Back” and “S Club Party,” climbing to the top of the charts. The album was hugely successful, becoming certified Double Platinum, with S Club being household names throughout the UK and also worldwide.

S Club won a Brit Award for ‘Best British Newcomer’ that same year, as well as appearing on a new show for American audiences, “S Club 7 in L.A.” A second record followed, simply titled “7,” finding several Top Ten hits after its release in June, 2000. The album again found incredible commercial success, cementing their position in the pop world.

After another successful album, S Club’s popularity began to wane, and their fourth, “Seeing Double,” made little impact in 2002. Catermole left the group, deciding instead to return to his nü-metal outfit, Skua. A year later in April, the band split, having enjoyed an incredible four years of endless hits.

Fast forward to 2014, and after years of failed solo efforts and down-sized appearances to mediocre crowds, the group decided to reunite with the full lineup. As the year drew to an end, S Club announced plans promising extensive arena tours, to which their ageing fans responded with tears of joy.

Live reviews

It’s impossible to mention S Club 7 without wanting to break into song and dance. Love or loathe them, there’s no denying that they have some infectiously great pop tunes. The stage is really where S Club come to life. With each tour having its own theme gives you an inkling of what to expect, the Carnival Tour being the most vivacious of all.

As soon as lights are down the sound of Brazilian drums fill the arena as dancers with drums weave in and out through the crowd, making their way onto the stage. By the time the seven members pop up from the stage, the already excitable crowd scream and cheer at the top of their lungs. All colour co-ordinated, each member has a different coloured outfit almost as vibrant as a rainbow. The band waste no time in getting the party started kicking off with their hit single “S Club Party” introducing each member. In case you forgot who you were seeing their logo rotates on the big screen behind them. Continuing with the carnival theme, “Bring It All Back” has a samba twist as they form a conga line across the stage before doing the limbo, it’s definitely all fun and games on stage.

With quick costume changes comes a complete change of set themes. Dressed in gold and white, the band slow it right down as mist forms around their feet as they sing “You’re My Number One” and “Never Had a Dream Come True” the audience sway from side to side waving glow sticks in the air. Another great thing about S Club 7 aside from being fantastic entertainers, is that individually they are all great singers and the live show gives them each a song with the opportunity of taking lead vocals. The last section of the show keeps the party theme alive with bright lights, sparkly clothes, confetti and dancers with feather headdresses as the live percussionists keep the rhythm flowing. Saving the best for last they play “Reach” to which the whole crowd gets up on their feet doing the dance routine as they wave their handmade banners, singing their hearts out. Closing the show with “Don’t Stop Movin” finished with pyro really shows there really isn’t any party like an S Club party!

After 25 years, S Club is bringing it all back to the stage with their 'Good Times' tour

S Club on their "Good Times" tour.

There ain't no party like an S Club party — and U.S. fans are about to find out once again.

The year was 1999 and seven British singers — consisting of Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Steven, Hannah Spearritt and the late Paul Cattermole — were cruising in Miami, enjoying the beach life while performing choreographed moves and singing, “ Don’t stop, never give up/Hold your head high and reach the top/Let the world see what you have got, ” from their debut single “ Bring It All Back .”

If you were a ‘90s kid, S Club (then known as S Club 7) was the catchy and bubbly girl/guy group that not only filled the airwaves but your TV screen with their series “S Club 7 in Miami,” in which they played fictionalized versions of themselves.

“We’ve been going through a lot of old footage recently,” Lee, sitting next to Barrett, Lee, McIntosh, O’Meara and Stevens, tells TODAY.com via Zoom in England. “So that’s brought back loads of fond memories — some that have been forgotten, actually, in the back of my mind somewhere.”

S Club is embarking on the U.S. and Canada leg of their "Good Times" tour in November 2023.

The five singers are all in their pre-show attire, consisting of casual T-shirts and jeans, before they get glammed up in bright-colored leotards for the ladies and sequins for the guys.

"We've actually been wearing less clothes than we've ever worn, you know, but in a classy way. It's very glam," Barrett says, adding that Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez were their inspiration.

Lounging on velvet dark grey couches backstage ahead of their show, they will take the stage in just hours to perform their biggest hits to screaming fans. The nostalgia runs deep for the group and the early aughts.

Bringing it all back to the stage and their fans

Twenty-five years since they debuted, the five members reunited to celebrate their anniversary milestone with their “S Club: The Good Times Tour.” They’re also honoring their late group member Cattermole, who died of heart-related issues in April at the age 46, less than two months after they  announced the reunion tour . Spearritt is not participating.

After releasing their debut album, “S Club,” in October 1999, their show continued to air on Fox Family (now Freeform) for four seasons until 2002. Four albums later, hit singles like “S Club Party,” “Natural” and “Never Had a Dream Come True,” which reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Chart, along with various TV and film projects, they called it quits in 2003. S Club reunited in various capacities over the last two decades, but this was meant to be their full comeback.

“You never really know,” Steven says about reuniting. “We reunited in 2015, and then things bubbled up every now and again. But this being our 25th anniversary, we got an email from (group creator) Simon Fuller, and it’s all about timing, isn’t it? We’re all in that place where we were just really ready to come back ... There’s so much love, and that nostalgia for people I think is really important right now and it was the perfect time.”

A reunion tour was a year in the making — and filled with heartbreak

Planning for the 25th anniversary tour began in November 2022 while the official news was announced in February of this year. At the time, all seven original members were on board and only touring in Europe in October. They later announced dates in the U.S. and Canada, which have since been rescheduled for 2024.

On April 7, the group revealed Cattermole’s death in a statement shared on their social media. A month later, the five members shared tearful memories of their “brother” while announcing that Spearritt wasn’t going to be joining the tour. They also renamed it “The Good Times Tour” in tribute to Cattermole, who sang “Good Times” on their third album.

S Club paying tribute to Paul during their show.

The group shares — and as fans have seen on their social media — that there’s a section of the show that’s dedicated to Cattermole.

“It’s old footage and things like that, which is really emotional and a lot of fans have found it very emotional at the same time,” Lee says. “It’s a celebration of him rather than, it’s not doom and gloom.”

"Paul has been such a massive part in this tour in every single way." Rachel Stevens

Stevens adds that Cattermole has been “such a massive part in this tour in every single way” and that he’s always on their mind.

O’Meara remembers getting “quite emotional” during the opening night of the tour on Oct. 12 in Manchester, England.

“Just before we actually walked out to that crowd, because I think that’s when it suddenly sort of hit all of us, like, ‘Wow, there’s a lot of people out there and they’re still screaming out for S Club,’” she says. “It can get quite overwhelming sometimes, I think we just feel so lucky.”

These are the days we’ll always remember

Aside from reminiscing on their early days and being back on stage, there's a new generation of S Clubers. The ladies are now mothers and are excited for their children to see them on stage.

"I'm really excited because this is gonna be the first time Roman is seeing me on stage with the band and on this scale," Barrett says of her 7-year-old son. "So he's really excited."

Stevens echoes the sentiments when it comes to her two daughters, Amelie, 12, and Minnie, 9. O'Meara is also mother to 15-year-old son Lenny. They brought out their kids to their Oct. 27 show in London.

Earlier this year, S Club released their first song in 20 years titled “These Are The Days” in honor of Cattermole. Pretty soon, fans will get even more new music.

“There will definitely be new music next year. We don’t know what it is yet, but that’s something we’ve all talk about,” Lee teases, with Barrett adding, “And we’ve always done TV stuff. So yeah, maybe a documentary, who knows.”

In the meantime, the singers are excited to come back to the U.S. “and connect with the American fans,” McIntosh says.

There will definitely be good times and maybe a few tears during the show.

It's been a year of reflection and taking care of one's mental and physical health, they say. But above all else, they've enjoyed spending the family they've created.

“As a group, I think we now are closer than we’ve ever been. Before, it was our job, it was our life, but after 20 years you realize we’re connected together forever for the rest of our lives,” Lee says.

“There’s only seven people in the world that know what it’s like to be in S Club 7 and we’re the guys. We always had that connection with each other and I think we sort of, now that we’re older, time has passed, we realized that we are this little family.”

S Club on stage at the AO Arena in Manchester.

S Club review – poignant posthumous tour is comfortingly nostalgic

AO Arena, Manchester Shadows from the recent death of Paul Cattermole are acknowledged but do not hamper the bright, bouncy fun

P op music rarely makes us think about mortality. But it’s something that hangs heavily over S Club tonight, the teenage pop group who came to prominence as S Club 7 on the 90s kids TV show Miami 7, who now return after the sudden death of member Paul Cattermole at 46 earlier this year.

With Hannah Spearritt leaving the group, S Club come back as five, stepping out in glittery bright outfits with each member in blue, red, yellow, pink and green – almost recalling the Power Rangers. Which feels apt, because this is very much a plunge back in time to the era of Saturday morning kids TV as pop phenomenon.

The opening S Club Party reminds us there’s no party like an S Club party but it’s one that’s feeling a little dated and tired. The choreographed dance moves are very old school and there’s lots of gesturing, waving and blowing kisses to the audience, while it becomes clear the backing track they all sing on top of is going to be doing a hell of a lot of heavy lifting.

Reach for the stars … Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, and Tina Barrett.

There are plenty of moments of bright, bubbly, bouncy fun; be it the 60s girl group swing of You’re My Number One, the funk-pop of Bring the House Down, or the disco-indebted Don’t Stop Movin’ – which acts as a potent reminder of its once inescapable ubiquity.

An extensive video tribute to Cattermole marks the halfway point as S Club return dressed in black. “We miss you every single day,” says Bradley McIntosh, holding back tears, before they “bring it back for Paul” via the school disco anthem Bring It All Back.

Production-wise, this isn’t a blockbuster pop show. There’s a staircase the band walk up and down a bit, a sliding door they enter in and out of, and some fairly basic visuals and lights. It’s not explosive, dynamic or unpredictable but familiar, safe, and reliable. But perhaps this is intentional. Existing to soothe and comfort, and to reinstate a feeling of vigour, hope and optimism after a period, for fans and members, of turbulence and loss.

Is S Club 7’s 2023 reunion tour still happening?

The band has given an update following the death of Paul Cattermole last month

Just two months after the group announced a huge comeback tour, S Club 7 member Paul Cattermole died unexpectedly in early April at the age of 46. The cause of the singer's death has still not been confirmed, but police have said that it was not suspicious.

Following Cattermole’s passing, the band released a statement which read: ‘We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

‘He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.’

The group found fame at the turn of the Millennium, having been put together by music mogul Simon Fuller (who has worked with acts such as Spice Girls, Kelly Clarkson and Amy Winehouse). The last time S Club – known for hits  ‘S Club Party’, ‘Never Had a Dream Come True’ and ‘Reach’ –  performed together was for their ‘Bring It All Back 2015’ tour. The tour was set to mark 25 years since the band first formed.

S Club 7 renamed as Hannah Spearritt pulls out of tour after Paul Cattermole's death

The band's five remaining members said they are "still in so much disbelief" following the death of Paul Cattermole last month.

Pop band S Club 7 have rebranded as S Club for their upcoming tour, due to the death of one member and the absence of another.

Founding member Paul Cattermole was found dead at his home in Dorset last month aged 46 , and Hannah Spearritt has pulled out of the band's 25th anniversary tour, meaning the group is now a five-piece.

Hannah Spearritt was at Chessington to open a new Jumanji section of the park at the weekend

On the band's Instagram, member Jon Lee said: "You've probably noticed that there are only five of us here today and, although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won't be joining us on this tour.

"We wish her all the best for the future."

The number seven has also been removed from the band's social media and website.

In their Instagram video, the band members also spoke about the death of Cattermole, with Lee saying: "We have been in a bit of shock, and it has taken a while for us to find the right words to describe how we feel about losing our brother Paul."

Rachel Stevens added: "Just taking the time to process and get our heads around it all, and also taking time to share time together so that we could remember Paul and all the memories we had together."

Jo O'Meara said: "Whenever Paul would walk into the room, you definitely knew that he was there because he would just light it up with humour and love - just a really special person."

The group's tour has been renamed the Good Times tour in memory of Cattermole, with Barrett saying: "That was his song and all the fans knew it was his song, so it just feels right."

Spearritt and Cattermole were in a relationship during their time in S Club 7 and later rekindled their romance for a brief period in 2015.

The actress and singer has since called Cattermole her "first true love," and said he was "so excited" about the band's forthcoming tour.

The band had been due to reunite in October for a 25th anniversary tour of the UK and Ireland.

Following Cattermole's death, S Club 7 encouraged fans to donate to the National Youth Music Theatre "in lieu of flowers".

Police have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Cattermole's death.

Updated: Wednesday, April 10 10 a.m. ET: AUGUSTA, Ga. – The first round of the 88th Masters Tournament could be affected by inclement weather as dangerous conditions are predicted to arrive early Thursday.

There’s a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m., with wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m. ET and noon. That would create potentially dangerous conditions and push back tee times, possibly bringing Friday into play for the conclusion of Round 1.

Last year’s Masters was also affected by weather, with second-round play pushed to Saturday and third-round play pushed to Sunday, when eventual winner Jon Rahm and co-runner-up Brooks Koepka played 30 holes.

Severe weather began slamming the southern United States on Tuesday night, continued into Wednesday and was expected to reach the Augusta area first thing Thursday.

According to the Masters Tournament weather update:

“A cold front is forecast to bring a band of rain and scattered thunderstorms through the region between 6 a.m.-1 p.m. ET Thursday. Heavy rainfall and occasional wind gusts of 40-45 mph are anticipated over this period. A lull in precipitation should occur behind the cold front between 1-4 p.m. ET before scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms drift back into the region for the late afternoon and evening hours.

“Windy conditions persist Friday under mostly sunny skies as a dry and stable airmass settles into the area. Mostly sunny skies can be expected through the weekend with west to southwesterly winds in the 7-15 mph range.”

  • Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms prior to 1 p.m. ET. Partly cloudy with a 40% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Forecast rainfall: 1-1 1/2 inches. Wind gusts of 40-45 mph between 8 a.m.-noon. Low: 65F High: 77F Winds: S shifting SW 15-25; gusts 30-35 mph.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny and windy. Noticeably less humid. Low: 54F High: 72F Winds: W 15-20; gusts 30 mph.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 49F High: 78F Winds: WNW turning W 7-15 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm. Low: 53F High: 84F Winds: W turning SW 7-15 mph.

The Masters has dealt with its share of weather conditions in recent years. The final round of Tiger Woods’ iconic 2019 victory came hours earlier than scheduled to avoid impending storms. Last year’s leaders played 30 holes on Sunday as storms wiped out much of the third round.

This year’s Masters is largely devoid of rainy conditions, with Thursday as the lone exception. According to the official Augusta National weather forecast, there is an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, with an expected rainfall of 1.00-1.50 inches.

“Isolated light showers are possible Tuesday and Wednesday before rain and thunderstorms arrive early Thursday and continue throughout the morning hours. A cold front is expected to pass through in the early afternoon, with diminishing precipitation chances for the remainder of Thursday. Thunderstorm wind gusts of 40-45 mph will be possible,” the official forecast stated.

Conditions are expected to clear up by Thursday afternoon and stay dry through the rest of the tournament. Here’s a day-by-day breakdown of the official Augusta National weather forecast:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny. Low: 48F High: 79F Winds: S 7-10 mph
  • Tuesday : Cloudy with a 25% chance of light showers. Low: 58F High: 77F Winds: SSE 5-10 mph

Masters 2024: Why Tiger Woods had to hit THREE tee shots on one (disastrous) hole

2148602616

Warren Little

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Tiger Woods' weekend struggles at the 2024 Masters continued on Sunday, leaving his loving patrons disappointed. But at least they can learn from the 15-time major champ's worst hole of his early final round.

Woods made a mess of the fifth on Sunday as he tumbled farther down the leaderboard. What was even crazier than Woods making a triple bogey, though, was the fact that he hit three tee shots on the par 4, the last of which included a ride back to the tee in a golf cart.

RELATED: Tiger gave the most Tiger answer ever about breaking this Masters record

That's right. Three tee shots. Confused? Let's explain this Rules of Golf situation.

It started with Tiger's initial drive, that sailed to the right. WAY right and into the trees. Thinking his ball might be lost—a decent assumption—Tiger teed up a provisional and hit another shot from the tee, this one down the middle. Of course, because that's what "Player B" always does. But then things got tricky.

Woods actually found his first ball, which wasn't necessarily a good thing. He had come to rest in a place where he had no way to play his second shot. He was going to have to take an unplayable lie. Even worse, he determined that in taking his unplayable relief, there was no place to drop within two club lengths that didn't still leave him with miserable shot. So he could just use that other ball sitting in the middle of the fairway, right? Wrong.

Under the Rules of Golf , that provisional ball Woods hit only remains in play if the original ball is never found or out of bounds. Woods found the ball, immediately taking the provisional out of play. Since Woods didn't want to try to hack out or take the two club lengths drop and hack out, his only other option was to hit from the previous spot. In other words, he had to re-tee. Again.

RELATED: Jason Day says Augusta National (!) asked him to take off his sweater

Woods took his driver and began walking back to the tee box before being picked up for a ride (yes, that's legal). He then found the fairway with his third shot from the tee. It counted as his third shot on the hole, one for the original tee shot, two for the penalty for taking unplayable lie. From there, Woods found the front of the green with his fourth shot, but three-putted for a triple bogey.

Following his worst-ever Masters score of 82 on Saturday, Woods' Sunday didn't go much better. But at least, we can all use what happened to him on No. 5 as a learning situation. And if you're still confused, make sure you read this and this . Because it's never a bad time to brush up on the rules—even during Masters Sunday.

2024 Masters leaderboard, winner: Scottie Scheffler's patience begets second green jacket in three years

Scheffler displayed a disciplined approach that, combined with extraordinary ball striking, turned sunday into an epic coronation at augusta national golf club.

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Three straight birdies at the turn made the inevitable reality as Scottie Scheffler pulled away from a packed leaderboard at the 2024 Masters to become the 10th man in history to claim two green jackets in a three-year span. The 27-year-old Scheffler, spending his 82nd straight week as the No. 1 golfer in the world, left no doubt Sunday that what was already known is indeed true: every golf tournament he plays goes through him.

Scheffler finished 11 under -- four strokes clear of the field -- after entering the 88th playing of the Masters as an overwhelming favorite. He did nothing to dissuade his supporters over the first three rounds, either leading or staying within a single stroke after 18, 36 and 54 holes entering Sunday's finale.

Once a two-stroke lead after three holes became a four-way tie entering the turn Sunday, Scheffler flipped a switch and never looked back. He added to that three-birdie stretch from Nos. 8-10 by scoring three more on the 13th, 14th and 16th to keep Ludvig Åberg (-7) -- finishing second while playing in his first career major championship -- at arm's length.

"It's a difficult golf course to close out a win on," Scheffler explained. "You can't play overly defensive. ... You have to play to the correct spot and hit really good golf shots. I did that to the best of my abilities today and was fortunately able to hit some really key shots and make some nice birdies there on the back nine. Really, from hole 8 on, I played really, really nice golf."

Scheffler on Sunday became the 18th man to win two Masters and the first to do so over a three-year span since Bubba Watson (2012, 2014). He is also the fourth-youngest two-time Masters champion and the eighth golfer to win the first two major championships of his career at Augusta National.

With the 2024 tournament being his fifth Masters appearance, Scheffler is the second-fastest to have green jackets take up two hangers in his closet, the quickest to the achievement in 88 years (Horton Smith, third appearance, 1936).

Despite how simple Scheffler can make the game look, this Masters was anything but easy for the top name in the game. His iron play wasn't at his usually excellent level for most of the week, his tenor was tested plenty -- his pregnant wife and best friend not by his side like usual , instead at home days or weeks away from giving labor -- but when the correct shots in the correct moments were called upon, Scheffler answered.

Fighting his swing early on Sunday, Scheffler found himself in a dog fight with Åberg, Collin Morikawa and Max Homa all nipping at his heels. Scrambling saves were required to maintain his lead as he missed greens both short and long.

An uneasy feeling, Scheffler's short game took matters into its own hands. At its best when the tournament is often its tensest, his soft touch produced a stunner on the third from the bunker for his first birdie of the day.

His pursuers purred and had their moments, though. Åberg turned in 33 to touch the lead, Morikawa answered a Scheffler birdie on No. 8 with one of his own, and Homa lashed a mighty approach into 10.

The peloton was formed with 10 holes to play, and the thought of four of the best players in the world jostling through the second nine at Augusta National on Sunday raced through the minds of many. Unfortunately his peers, Scheffler raced away from the three-player pile up.

First, it was Morikawa who couldn't keep up as the two-time major champion needed two from the greenside bunker on No. 9 and ultimately carded a double bogey. Another followed on the 11th when his second found a watery grave.

Åberg had crashed just before them with the same fatal mistake. The Masters rookie battled back, it was too little too late. He ultimately became the third debutant in the last five years to finish runner-up.

Homa stood as Scheffler's last real threat as he sent a prayer into the air on Amen Corner's treacherous par-3 12th. It wasn't answered as Homa's ball traveled a yard too long, took a firm bounce and found a bush. Another double bogey ensued.

From a pack of four, only Scheffler was left standing.

While others took the bait and got greedy, Scheffler displayed discipline. While others tried to tame a brutally difficult Augusta National, Scheffler stayed patient. While others' emotions got the best of them, Scheffler remained calm.

Scheffler's superpower, his mental game, shined through when it mattered most. His ball striking gets praised and his short game is respected, but Scheffler's greatest strength has nothing to do with the club in his hand and everything to do with the mind of the person wielding it. The one now donning a second green jacket in three years.

Youngest two-time Masters champions

2024 masters leaderboard breakdown.

2. Ludvig Åberg (-7): After starting his Masters career with a 73, Åberg fired three straight under-par rounds including the only one in the 60s on Friday. A member of the penultimate pairing on Sunday, the Masters rookie felt it on the greens early. He curled in a ticklish birdie on No. 2 and another on No. 9 to head into the second nine with a share of the lead. Getting too aggressive down the hill into the 11th green, the young Swede's approach found the water and led to a double bogey -- his only dropped shots of the day. Åberg bounced back with two birdies over his next three holes to apply a smidge of pressure on Scheffler, but by then, the damage was done. The major debutant will learn from this mistake and be better for it. For now, he'll have to settle for a solo second.

T3. Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood (-4): Both Morikawa and Homa looked strong early. The two-time major champion did not miss a single approach shot across his first eight holes but was unable to connect on the greens. He stood square with Scheffler through this stretch of the golf course, but greed got the best of him on No. 9 when he tried to get too much out of his approach ultimately leading to the first of two double bogeys in a three-hole stretch.

Meanwhile, Homa was a surgeron around Augusta National. Picking and choosing his spots with care, the 33-year-old's birdie on the long 10th meant he had jumped into a share of the lead. He may have been too cautious when all is said is done as he erred long on the 12th, which led to his double bogey and refused to hit driver on the par-5 13th electing to play it as a three-shot hole. Still, it represents Homa's best major result and the return of major Morikawa.

"Greed got the best of me," Morikawa said. "Nine, can't miss it over there and can't leave it in the bunker. Eleven, just tried to hit too perfect of a shot. It's not like at that point I was trying to press. I knew where I stood. Yeah, it's just can't do that. In the past, I haven't done it, but kind of where the game's at. You kind of find your little stride. We put a lot of pieces of the puzzle together this week, but after watching Scottie this week, I know what to do if I really want to close this gap on what he's doing and how impressive he's playing."

T6. Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau (-2): After shooting the round of the tournament (65) on Thursday, DeChambeau carded three straight over-par rounds. The former U.S. Open champion fared well in the difficult conditions on Friday, but he lost his touch on the greens over the weekend. Remaining patient for the first half of the tournament, his aggression got the better of him late on Saturday and sunk his Masters chances. He fought back nicely with his hole-out on 18 in Round 3 and a couple birdies in the middle of his first nine on Sunday, but it was all for not. DeChambeau's T6 is his first finish inside the top 20 in his Masters career.

Take it in, Scottie Scheffler!

That is his sixth birdie in his last nine holes. Scheffler tacks one on 16 and his lead is four with two holes to play. The green jacket might as well be his.

3 up 3 to go

Scottie Scheffler makes par on No. 15 to remain at 10 under and three clear of Ludvig Aberg. Three pars should secure him his second Masters title in three years.

Scheffler birdies 14

He is up three with four to go. He taps in his fifth birdie in the last seven holes and now heads to the par-5 15th. Aberg was unable to go for the green in two after a wayward drive and needs to put a wedge close.

Aberg keeps fighting

The young Swede has rattled off two straight birdies to get within two of Scottie Scheffler. The world No. 1 just made birdie on 13 to get to 9 under. It looks like it will come down to these two as Max Homa sits four adrift at 5 under with only four holes to play.

All Blacks center Jordie Barrett joining Leinster in December

  • Copy Link copied

New Zealand center Jordie Barrett will join Irish club Leinster on a short-term contract after the All Blacks’ tour to Britain in December.

Barrett has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby through 2028. But a clause in his new contract allows him a sabbatical which will see him miss the 2025 Super Rugby season.

Barrett said Ireland was “a special place for the Barrett family.” They relocated to Ireland and Barrett’s father Kevin coached Athlone in 2000 while managing a farm in County Meath.

“We’ve got so many great family connections in Oldcastle, in County Meath and throughout Dublin,” Barrett said. “To have an opportunity to go back and meet some family and friends and connections that were made 20 years ago is pretty cool.”

Barrett has played 57 tests for the All Blacks, many in company with his brothers Beauden and Scott.
