How do I get rid of little keyboard

I want to completely disable the little keyboard. The two finger spread thing does not work on my 2021 ipad

Try rebooting your iPad. Link-> Restart your iPad - Apple Support

When in small keyboard mode, the 2 finger spread is the only option to return the onscreen keyboard to full size.

Make sure both fingers are on the keyboard before you start spreading them. If done correctly, when you start spreading them, the keyboard should turn into just a gray rectangle while you spread. Remove your fingers once the grey rectangle filled the bottom of the screen.

You might be wondering how did you manage to split your keyboard? It’s easier than you think! At the bottom right corner of your keyboard, there’s a button that looks like a small keyboard. You’ve probably been using it whenever you want to hide it and read something without distractions.

When you press that button and hold it, it separates the keyboard in two. If you want to reverse it, you should tap and hold the same button. That said, it can be somewhat tricky now that your keyboard is minimized.

After a couple of seconds, you’ll see a Dock and Merge sign. Tap on it, and your keyboard will go back to its standard size and position.

You can also split your keyboard by pulling it to the side of the screen. Many people unconsciously do it when they’re swiping or scrolling. You can use your thumbs to join two parts of the keyboard.

Keyboard Settings

You can customize your keyboard in many ways and make it easier to use. Here’s the quickest way to open the Keyboard settings:

• Open the app that uses the keyboard, maybe your Notes.
• Tap and hold the small round button on your keyboard.
• Select Keyboard settings.

You can now customize anything you want. You’ll see a list of features you can enable or disable By sliding the green slider switch.

You can choose whether you want to have Auto-Correct, Caps Lock, automatic spelling and punctuation monitoring, and more. We recommend enabling these options as they can be a great help, especially if you’re in a rush or you can’t see what you’re typing.

However, if you use the same keyboard to write in English and some other language, a predictive keyboard can be an obstacle. It can create misunderstandings and funny situations. That’s one of the rare cases when we don’t suggest using this feature.

Install a Third-Party Keyboard

If you’re still not satisfied with your keyboard, there’s always an option to install a third-party keyboard. Although it may sound complicated, it’s just another app. You can open your App Store, type “keyboard,” and explore your options. There are many creative and helpful keyboards over there.

You can install one just as you’d install any other app. All you need to do is go to your Settings and enable it.

If you’re bored with your new keyboard, you can always disable it or even delete it.

• Go to the Settings.
• Tap on General.
• Tap on Keyboards.
• Press the Edit button.
• Tap a red minus sign next to the third-party keyboard you want to delete.

iPad   Escaping Apple Pencil mode to get full sized keyboard in Safari?

I occasionally browse the web using my Apple Pencil as a stylus on my iPad…scrolling, tapping buttons/links, etc. Sometimes I’ll mistakenly tap into a text box, which puts it in the Apple Pencil mode. This means I have to write in the text box using the pencil, or use the mini keyboard from the toolbar. Sometimes this is fine, but there doesn’t seem to be a quick/easy way to get back to the full sized keyboard for when I prefer that instead. Tapping with my finger does nothing, it remembers that I was using a pencil previously. I usually end up quitting the Safari and opening it back up to get the full sized keyboard to type with. Am I overlooking an easier way to accomplish this?

Okay, now I understand. It is text boxes you are referring to. I thought you meant the web address at the top of the page. The web address box will allow you to change to the standard keyboard whilst text boxes within the page does not, it remains using the pencil keyboard. Relevant until as you say “if you come out of safari then go back in it reverts to the standard keyboard”. Interesting bug; not one I had seen as I do not use the pencil in safari. I use a hardware keyboard. The hardware keyboard does give you the option of selecting the standard iOS keyboard (which can be enlarged) when within a text box.  

Turn off scribble in settings > pencil

Following this I have the same issue and it’s annoying  

I'm glad I'm not the only one that has had this issue (thought it was just me). That tiny little keyboard is annoying as heck and there's no way to get back to the original sized keyboard until I set down the pencil for some time. Turning off Scribble as we speak (I never use it anyway).

My solution now (instead of closing Safari) is to tap the address bar twice, that'll bring up the full sized keyboard again. (Make sure the floating keyboard is hidden first.)

Yes. I've found leaving the app and returning fixes this issue. This is clearly a bug. Or it's an oversight that might as well be called a bug. I'm using the Libby app right now and I used the Apple Pencil to write a name into the Search field. I can then use the Pencil to tap search and all works nicely. However, if I decide I want to use the full sized keyboard to modify the search… not possible. The only solution is to leave the app and then bring it back again. Not cool. Needs a fix.

Double tapping the address bar or two finger drag did not dismiss the mini-keyboard in iPad OS 16.2. Maybe that was something that Apple … fixed. I had to dismiss and relaunch Safari. Irritating.

Same issues. And neither the “spread” or double clicking the address bar seems to work in iPad OS 16.2. Perhaps it’s something Apple… fixed. Double clicking only brings back the Pencil mini-keyboard. My only recourse is to dismiss Safari and re-launch it to access the standard keyboard. Dreadfully irritating.

Ah, got it. You have to explicitly Hide the Pencil Keyboard, not just dismiss it. Extra step, but it works.

It’s so frustrating through that they don’t allow the enlarge gesture to make the keyboard standard size. I like scribble, but it’s not always what I want to do… Sometimes it even enables with the pencil docked! In my dream world writing with the pencil would work as it does now, but tapping with a finger would bring up the standard iPad keyboard.

Figured it out (created an account here to share after this thread didn't give the solve). Entirely possible this wasn't present prior to iPadOS 17. To get rid of the mini keyboard and return to the full-sized keyboard when using a Pencil with Scribble turned on: 1. Open the Pencil menu 2. Select "Hide Keyboard" 3. Tap (your finger) in the desired text field. The full-sized keyboard should come up, but you should still be able to use your Pencil as well. It's an extra step, I suppose. It's irritating that one can't switch between modes using the aforementioned gestures. But this solved my frustration and will hopefully mitigate yours.

What to Know

• Go to Settings > General > Keyboard and select the options you wish to change.
• To create a keyboard shortcut, go to Settings > General > Keyboards > Text Replacement > + and enter the shortcut info.
• You can also download and install custom keyboards.

This article explains how to change the default keyboard on iPad devices running iOS 11 and later. Among the settings you can modify are the keyboard layout, the keyboard type, predictive text, and auto-correct function.

How to Customize Your iPad Keyboard

To adjust the settings for your keyboard, you'll go to the Settings app . Here's what to do:

Open your iPad's Settings app.

On the left-side menu, choose General to display the general-purpose device settings on the right side of the screen.

Scroll down the right side of the screen until you see Keyboard , then tap that item to open the keyboard settings menu.

You now have several options for changing your keyboard language, layout, and features.

Customizable Settings for the iPad Keyboard

The iPad keyboard settings help you customize your iPad. Most of them are switches you toggle off and on. Here's a quick summary of some of the changes you can make:

• Keyboards : The iPad has built-in keyboards in dozens of languages. You can also install third-party keyboards like Swype or the Hanx Writer keyboard . Tapping this option and then Add New Keyboard will show you every choice available. You can also change your keyboard's layout from QWERTY to another layout by tapping Keyboards and then English to get to the English keyboard options. 
• Text Replacement : This item is the old "keyboard shortcut" given a new name that better describes the feature. Text Replacement adds entries to the auto-correct library, so if you frequently misspell a word and your iPad doesn't catch it, this override will fix it for you.
• Auto-Capitalization : By default, the iPad automatically capitalizes the first letter in a new sentence. This setting toggles that behavior.
• Auto-Correction : This item toggles the auto-correct tool . When the feature is active, the iPad will automatically correct common misspellings on your behalf.
• Check Spelling : The spell-checker reveals misspellings through red underlines under your typos. It's a useful toggle if you prefer to keep auto-correct disabled.
• Enable Caps Lock : By default, the iPad will turn off the caps key after you type in your next letter, number, or symbol. But if you double-tap the caps key, it turns on caps lock, which will allow you to type in capital letters until you shut the feature off.
• Shortcuts : This setting allows you to turn Text Replacement on or off without wiping out all of the replacement text you may have entered.
• Predictive : While you type, the iPad will attempt to predict the word you are typing and display it just above the on-screen keyboard. Tapping these words will finish the typing for you. 
• Split Keyboard : This setting splits the keyboard in half, with one side of the keyboard on one side of the display and the other side of the keyboard on the other side of the display. It is great for thumb-typing.
• Enable Key Flicks : In iOS 11, the iPad keyboard gained a new functionality that lets you quickly type special characters above keys by "flicking" them down. This switch turns this feature on and off.
• "." Shortcut : If you tap the space bar twice in a row, the iPad will insert a period in place of the first space.
• Enable Dictation : Voice Dictation lets you speak to your iPad and have your words converted to text. This feature sends what you speak to Apple to be translated, so it is very accurate, but you may want to turn this feature off if you are concerned with privacy.

How to Create an iPad Keyboard Shortcut

A shortcut allows you to type an abbreviation like "idk" and have it replaced by a longer phrase like "I don't know." Keyboard shortcuts on the iPad work in the same way as the auto-correct feature. You type out the shortcut, and the iPad will automatically replace it with the whole phrase.

Here's how to set one up:

In the Keyboards section of Settings ( Settings > General > Keyboards ), tap Text Replacement .

Tap the plus sign in the upper-right corner to add a new shortcut.

Type the longer Phrase you want to use and the Shortcut to activate it in the text boxes.

Tap Save to save your shortcut.

When you type the shortcut you set, the iPad will automatically replace it with the phrase you tied it to.

How to Install a Custom Keyboard

To set up a custom keyboard , you must first download one of the App Store's alternative keyboards. There is even a keyboard from Grammarly that will check your grammar as you type.

Download the keyboard you want to add from the App Store.

In the Keyboard settings, tap the Keyboards heading.

Tap Add New Keyboard.

You will get a list of available keyboards that you have installed on the iPad. Tap the keyboard you want to activate.

You can remove a keyboard by tapping Edit on the custom keyboards page. The tap reveals a red circle with a minus sign next to the available keyboards. Tapping this button will remove the keyboard from the activated list. 

Deactivating a keyboard doesn't uninstall it. You must uninstall the app to delete the keyboard completely.

How to Change the iPad Keyboard to QWERTZ or AZERTY

The familiar QWERTY keyboard gets its name by the five letters across the top of the letter keys, and two popular variations (QWERTZ and AZERTY) get their name the same way. Change your iPad keyboard layout to either of these variations in the Keyboard Settings.

Access these alternative layouts by choosing Add a Keyboard and then finding them in the list of available layouts. They're both variations of the U.S. English version. In addition to QWERTZ and AZERTY, you can choose from other layouts like U.S. Extended or British.

• The QWERTZ layout is used in Central Europe, and it is sometimes known as a German layout. Its biggest difference is the exchanged placement of the Y and Z keys.
• French speakers in Europe often use the AZERTY layout. The main difference is the exchanged placement of the Q and A keys.

Safari on the Mac is almost entirely controllable by the keyboard. You can open tabs, navigate forms on the page, and search through pages. And even if there’s no built-in shortcut, the Mac lets you add custom shortcuts to any menu item. The iPad isn’t quite so well-served, but you’d be surprised at just how many keyboard shortcuts there are for Safari on the iPad. In fact, there are so many great shortcuts that you may even forget you’re not using a Mac. Let’s take a look.

Navigation keyboard shortcuts for mobile Safari

Getting around mobile Safari with the keyboard is super-easy. Here are the shortcuts:

• ⌘T — Open new tab
• ⌘W — Close tab
• ⌘N — Open split view
• ⇧⌘] and ⇧⌘[ or Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-⇧-Tab — Next/Previous Tab
• Ctrl-⇧-\ — Show all tabs
• ⌘[ and ⌘] or ⌘→ and ⌘← — Back/forward
• Space bar — Scroll down a page (⇧-Space reverses the direction).
• ⌘↑ and ⌘↓ — Scroll to beginning/end of page
• ←↑→↓ — Scroll web page (← and → work when zoomed in)

These all come directly from the Mac. ⌘N — or Open split view – is the equivalent to opening a new window on the Mac. The Show all tabs command also works on the Mac (give it a try). This is the same as pinching-in on mobile Safari to show the zoomed-out tab view. Once you get there, though, you’ll have to take your fingers off the keyboard to tap one of those mini windows. You can’t use the arrow keys, or the Tab key, to cycle through them, which seems like an oversight. Hit Ctrl-⇧- again, or the Escape key, to cancel this view.

Utility shortcuts

• ⌘L ⌘L — Open location
• ⌘F — Find in page
• ⌘R — Reload page
• ⌘ ⇧R — Show/hide Reader view
• ⇧⌘L — Show/hide sidebar
• ⇧⌘D — Add to Reading List

⌘L — open location — places a cursor in the URL field, ready to type an address, or perform a search. When you begin to type, Safari will pop up the usual list of recent searches, search suggestions, as well as matches from your bookmarks and history. You can choose any of these using the arrow keys.

Find in page — ⌘F — brings up a dedicated search bar at the bottom of the screen. It’s the same one you’ll see if you go to the trouble of searching in the page by tapping, only it’s a lot easier to get to. You can also flip through the search results using ⌘G and ⇧⌘G, stepping forward and back, with the page scrolling to the highlighted text each time.

Show/hide sidebar — ⇧⌘L — slides the combined bookmarks/history/Reading List/ Shared Links pane out from the left side, and puts it back again. Like the zoomed-out tab view, you’ll have to bust out a finger to touch the screen if you want open any of those links. And while regular bookmarking with ⌘D doesn’t work, ⇧⌘D will save the current page to your Reading List.

What it doesn’t have

As well as the lack of cursor-arrow control in the tab overview, and the bookmark sidebar, mobile Safari doesn’t support opening bookmarks in the bookmarks bar using ⌘1, ⌘2, etc., like the Mac. Other than that, though, the iOS version of Safari has some pretty comprehensive keyboard coverage. It’s more than enough for the average user, and even the power user won’t feel too frustrated.

Amazon today has Apple's fifth generation 64GB Wi-Fi iPad Air for $449.00 , down from $599.00. This is a match of the record low price on the tablet, and it's available in all colors except Starlight, with delivery as soon as this Friday, April 5.

The last time we tracked this deal it was at Best Buy, but right now Amazon is beating Best Buy's deal on the same tablet by about $50. There are quite a few $100 markdowns on other fifth generation M1 iPad Air models , but none are matching all-time low prices like the 64GB Wi-Fi model.

The premium tablet market is dominated by two contenders. First, there's the 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro, and then there's the 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Whatever your on-the-go computing needs, you can't go wrong with either high-end tablet. But if you're going to invest upwards of $2,000 or more on a new and souped up tablet, make sure you're getting a model that'll best meet your needs over the next few years.

iPadOS or Android: Which OS is better?

The biggest difference between the incredibly popular 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro and 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra tablet is their operating systems. This plays a huge role when it comes to compatibility with the other equipment you already use, like your smartphone, smartwatch, laptop, desktop computer -- even your wireless earbuds.

The iPad runs Apple's iPadOS 17 operating system. Apple offers a vast ecosystem of compatible equipment, apps and services. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra runs Android 13. Samsung offers its own robust array of compatible gadgets, apps and services that are part of the Galaxy product line. Those rely heavily on Google and Samsung's SmartThings platform. Like all iPads, this one runs Apple's iPadOS 17 and comes with a robust set of apps. The iPad Pro is designed to work seamlessly with Apple iCloud and will automatically sync data, files and photos with your own Mac computers and iPhone. (Syncing with a Windows computer or Android mobile device is possible, but an additional app is typically required).

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro is currently Apple's top-of-the-line tablet, powered with Apple's M2 processor, which offers an 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU and 16-core neural engine. In other words, it's fast, powerful and versatile. The tablet itself includes four speakers, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera and a 12MP wide and 10MP ultra-wide rear-facing camera setup. There's a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the unit. What it lacks is a microSD memory card slot, so whatever amount of storage you choose at the time of purchase is all you get.

Perhaps the most notable thing about the iPad Pro is a beautiful Liquid Retina XDR display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, a wide color gamut and a stunning 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The result: vivid, detailed and fluid graphics.

iPad Pro is highly customizable thanks to iPadOS 17 and the vast selection of apps available. But to expand how you interact with the tablet, the optional Apple Pencil (2nd generation) and Apple Magic Keyboard are available. Like all of the iPads, this one relies heavily on internet connectivity. Not only do specific apps access the internet to gather and share information, but to use the Siri voice assistant, an internet connection is required. The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is Samsung's premium tablet and also a flagship Android tablet. The Tab S9 Ultra is equipped with the fast and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. All configurations of the tablet are available in your choice of a graphite or beige casing color. Unlike the Apple iPad Pro, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is only available with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There's no cellular connectivity option. On the plus side, the Samsung S Pen stylus is included with the tablet. Wedding Palace

The foundations for Wedding Palace was executed by BAUER Technologie the Russian branch company of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH. Scope of works was 163 pieces of D1500mm piles, each 30m deep. Imperia Tower is a multipurpose complex located on plot 4 of the Moscow International Business Center. It will consist of 2 buildings, the mixed-use Building A and the water park entertainment complex in Building B.

Building A, totaling 60 floors, will incorporate over 70,110 square meters (750,000 sq ft) of office space, 45,000 m2 (480,000 sq ft) of apartments, a 280 room hotel (30,000 m2/320,000 sq ft), and assorted retail outlets.

Building B will incorporate the water park and will be a focus of entertainment for the MIBC Complex. It will also house a shopping mall, restaurants and cafés, and will be open year-round.

Eurasia Tower

The Eurasia Tower, located on plot 12, is an office/recreational space with a total area of 207542 square meters. It will be situated on a three-tier podium in which will be placed a fitness center, entertainment, restaurants, and shops. Other areas will be distributed as follows: 106 231 square meters will be reserved for office space, and residential apartments will occupy 21185 square meters. On the bottom, there will be parking for more than 1000 cars. The external design of the building is a combination of classical and modernist style. On the outside of the building, a scenic elevator will run up and down for views of the entire city.

Federation Tower

Federation Tower will be Europe's first supertall tower, and the second tallest tower in Europe after Russia Tower.

The unique construction combines architectural elegance, comfort and ergonomics. Upon completion, this will be the tallest building in Europe, at the height of 506 metres.

Office complex "Federation" is on plot 13 MIBC "Moscow-city". The structure represents a design of two tri-hedral towers with height of 360 and 243 metres above the ground, located on a common base of 10 floors. Between them the spike, with a height of 506 metres. In the towers a restaurant is planned, along with office psuites and residential apartments divided by technical floors. In the spike elevators with panoramic views and an evacuation stairway will be placed. In the base of the towers a full complex of retail and household services is planned. The underground part includes parking places, technical premises, and the walkway connecting the complex with the central part of a Business Centre, northern departure and a complex 12 site.

Mercury City Tower

Multipurpose building with housing and open space, premises of trading and cultural appointment «Mercury City Tower» on plot 14 MIBC "Moscow-city". The structure's height is 322 metres (with a spike bringing it to 380) above the surface of the ground, with five underground floors. In a building office premises, apartments, the trading areas, and also restaurants will be located. The underground part, consisting of 5 floors, includes parking places, technical, and retail space.

Russia Tower

Construction began in September, 2007, and is planned to be completed in 2011. Upon reaching its final height of 612.2 metres (2,009 ft), it will be the tallest building in Europe and the second tallest in the world.

The total area of the structure will cover 520,000 m² (5,597,233.4 sq ft), of which 38% (200,000 m² (2,152,782.1 sq ft)) will be located underground. The tower will contain 118 floors, 101 lifts, and underground parking to accommodate 3,680 cars. Commercial retail shops will be located at the base of the building. The maximum capacity of the building is projected to be around 30,000.

The first ten floors will be occupied with the common part in which the parking will be placed. In the bottom part of a tower of office premises, a hotel will be located, the top floors will be occupied by apartments. In a business part of the project is expected to house a large congress centre, hotel, an entertainment zone, and a casino and park of attractions. Construction is planned on a plots 17-18 MIBC "Moscow-City". The developer of the project is the Moscow company (MDC), in cooperation with the city government and CT-Towers is the affiliated structure STT Group created for realization of projects in MIBC "Moscow-City". The final project of a tower has been presented by architect Norman Foster on March 15th, 2006 at exhibition MIPIM-2006 in Cannes. After completion, Russia Tower will become the tallest tower in Europe.
