A great tour company. With excellent tour guide. Hasmik had a lovely singing voice. We went to the garni temple and the monestry with a group of artist printmakers. Just a truly wonderful experience

Dear Graham and Leigh, Thank you for your kind words about our services and staff. We are delighted that you enjoyed your experience. Hope to see you join us in many other tours in the future. Kindest Regards, “Yerani Travel” Team.

This was a very interesting day tour, and well worth doing. The views of Mt Ararat from Khor Virap were stunning, and the Areni-1 cave was fantastic - seeing remains of a 5-6,000 year old civilisation that is only partly excavated was worth the trip by itself. Noravank is magnificent and very picturesque and the wine tasting was also enjoyable. Our guide was knowledgeable (she comes from Areni) and a pleasant tour leader.

Dear Brad, We are very grateful for such a delightful review. We appreciate your words about our Staff and services. We hope to see you again in Armenia soon. Kindest Regards, “Yerani Travel” Team.

We had a great experience with Hasmik and our driver Koti (Kati? Not sure of the name) in the Mother church and making dolma. It was worth the price, not exhausting but very well paced. There were 4 options for lunch if you want to eat with the tour - I recommend, I had the vegetarian one and it was delicious- rice and vegetables. We also ate our dolma :)

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words! We are very excited that you enjoyed your tour, and took some time of your day to leave such a positive review. Hope to see you participating in more of our tours in the future. Kindest Regards, "Yerani Travel" Team.

It was really gut, informative. Well organised, enough time in every place we visited. The guide was professional. Big minus was unfortunately the Restaurant in which we ate. It costed around 12 euros per person. The portions and food quality were extremely poor. The guide even himself advised to not take some of the dishes… we are only allowed to take food from the special menu which is prepared for us. I recommend to take your own food, because it was not edible.

Best Armenia tours

What to Pack for Your Tour From Yerevan

Armenia experiences hot summers and fairly cold winters, so pack accordingly based on the season! We do recommend bringing a few of the items below regardless of the season (but, of course, sunscreen is more useful in the shoulder seasons and summer).

If you have additional questions on what to bring to Armenia, please feel free to ask!

During the high season, Armenia can be a very hot destination; with temperatures reaching 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit) regularly.

So, make sure you have your sunscreen with you because there are many sites that are sitting under the open skies such as Khor Virap or Tatev Monastery where you need some protection from the scorching sun.

Power bank

The item that every traveler needs is a good power bank . We definitely recommend taking one with you so you can be in reach and have the ability to take photos with your devices.

Some tours might take an entire day and you may not have a place to charge your phone throughout the day, making a power bank essential!

Walking shoes

All tours that you will take have comfortable transportation, but during the exploration of different sites, you will need some good walking shoes.

Armenia is a very rocky country, especially outside of Yerevan. These Yerevan day tours will likely involve a lot of walking around when you’re at the sights and we can not recommend wearing good and comfortable shoes enough!

Water bottle

Armenia has great quality mountain water and for the most part, the water is free and comes from water fountains known as a Pulpulak .

In the hot season, take your water bottle with you so you can fill up it from the many water fountains throughout the country and can stay hydrated.

On this trip to Armenia, you will be reminded that Armenia was the world’s first officially Christian country. Monasteries are among Armenia’s premier attractions. Many of these monasteries are built in places of incredible natural beauty. You will visit many of these monasteries such as Khor-Virap Monastery, Noravank, and Hayravank which are well worth a visit even without the impressive, millennia old monasteries found there.

Arrive at the airport. Meet & greet, transfer to your hotel.

Meals: (None) Overnight: Yerevan

The Tsitsernakaberd Monument is designed to memorialize the innocent victims of the first Genocide of the 20th century. Visit Genocide museum. Continue the excursion and visit Ararat Brandy Factory to try the exceptional taste of Armenian brandy which has preserved the traditions of the legendary brandy manufacturing since 1887. When Is the Best Time of Year to Visit Armenia

Garni shot in March

Armenia’s climate is distinguished by cold winters and hot, dry summers. Winter months are the coldest, with the northern region enduring fairly common snowfall. June to September are the hottest months, with temperatures getting as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104 F). The average temperature ranges from 22 C (77.6 F) to 36 C (96.8 F). The evenings though are cool and refreshing. Here’s a detailed guide of the best times to visit Armenia, and a few things you can do here each month.

Usually, visitors avoid traveling to Armenia in winter months, as the temperatures are quite low. However, if you don’t mind cold and snow, there is potential for a great vacation. Main cities are free of tourists, and you’ll have the sights to yourself. Accommodation is much cheaper as well. For winter sports lovers, January might be the right time to visit Armenia; the ski resort Tsaghkadzor is flush with alpine meadows and is located 1,841 meters (6,040 Ft) above sea level.

Temperature: 2.7 C (36.8 F)

Rainfall: 8 days

February in Yerevan

Similar to January, February is pretty quiet in the cities. However, for those who enjoy traveling to another country in winter, February is a good month to see snow-covered cities and monasteries. One of the most beautiful places in winter is Khor Virap, which has a magnificent view of the snow-covered Ararat Mountain.

Temperature: 5.3 C (41.5 F)

Rainfall: 12 days

The month of March slowly brings the season of spring to the country. This is the time when nature awakens and cities start to get their first hesitant carpet of green. The temperature is still low, so Armenia’s main attractions are not full of tourists.

Temperature: 8.9 C (48 F)

Garni shot in March

April is considered to be the wettest month with heavy showers lasting for a couple of days at a time. Therefore, you might want to avoid traveling during this time. If you are determined, don’t forget to bring an umbrella or a raincoat. It should be noted that the weather during April often differs within short distances, due to fluctuations in altitude and other factors.

Temperature: 14.6 C (58.2 F)

Rainfall: 18 days

The beginning of the month of May is characterized with heavy showers, like April. Thus, the best time to visit Armenia is from late May to early June. This time of year, the weather is comfortable before the heat sets in, making it an ideal time to explore the country. Additionally, Yerevan hosts wine days from May 11 to May 15, if you’d like to try local products. Gourmands will enjoy the Dolma Festival in Aragatsotn Province on May 20.

Temperature: 20.1 C (68.2 F)

Rainfall: 22 days

Dolma Festival in Musaler village

As mentioned above, the month of June is the best time to explore the country – rains are unlikely and nature is in full bloom. In addition to visiting Armenia’s must-see destinations, visitors can enjoy various cultural and traditional events, such as the Sheep Shearing Festival held on June 09 or the Bread in the Mountains Festival held on June 10.

Temperature: 26.6 C (79.9 F)

Rainfall: 13 days

In July, the weather gets hotter with low humidity. It is also the busiest month for Armenia. So if the heat doesn’t bother you, you can come to enjoy the beautiful towns of Armenia, as well as attend some of its festivities. Despite the fact that July is considered the hottest month, the majority of the festivals are held this time of the year, including the Syunik Mulberry Festival, the Vardavar Water Festival , the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival, the Yerevan Color Run, or the Watermelon Festival.

Temperature: 29.3 C (84.8 F)

Rainfall: 3 days

International Film Festival

Just like July, the month of August is considered one of the hottest months of the year. However, the country still organizes various events to keep locals and visitors entertained. Lovers of culture and tradition will enjoy the Taraz Festival, a national dress day, while beer lovers can participate in various activities held during the Yerevan Beer Fest at Sevan Lake . Moreover, meat and barbecue fans will enjoy time spent at the Barbecue Festival in Akhtala.

Temperature: 29 C (84.2 F)

Late September is another amazing time to visit Armenia, as the temperature cools off and the weather is comfortable enough to have a nice tour around the country. Like July, September is a month full of interesting events you can attend, such as the Carpet Festival held in Dilijan on September 8, the Harissa Festival on September 15 in Musaler, the International Balloon Festival in Yerevan from September 15-18, a celebration of the Armenian traditional dessert Gata on September 22 in Khachik, and the Erebuni-Yerevan Festival (the ‘birthday’ of the city) on September 29-30. Temperature: 25.9 C (78.7 F) Rainfall: 4 days

Gata Festival

October is one of the best times to visit Armenia. Autumn brings beautiful colors to the cities, making the country the most beautiful at this time of the year. Unlike many other months, October here doesn’t bring many celebrations. There are only two festivals to mark in your calendar: the Areni Wine Festival held on October 6 in Areni and the ReAnimania Yerevan International Animation Film and Comics Art Festival that runs from October 28 through November 3 in Yerevan. Otherwise, plan your itinerary around visiting the countrysides and some of the country’s best landmarks. Bring a light jacket or a pullover, as evenings get a bit chilly.

Temperature: 16.1 C (61 F)

Rainfall: 20 days

In November, the temperature drops and the country starts to prepare for winter. There aren’t any festivals planned for this month; however, if you are up for visiting the city when it has fewer tourists, then November is a perfect time to do so. Make sure to pack warm clothes, and wear a comfortable jacket and warm shoes while walking through the city or traveling to remote areas.

Temperature: 9.6 C (49.2 F)

Rainfall: 10 days

Autumn in Armenia

Like the rest of the winter months, December is quiet in Armenia, with fewer tourists visiting the country. The temperature on average drops below 0 degrees Celsius (32 F) and walking around Yerevan or elsewhere might not be comfortable. However, mid-December is a bit slow at the ski resort Tsaghkadzor, located 60 km (37.28 miles) from Yerevan, so you may find a few fresh ski slopes all to yourself.

Temperature: 4 C (39.2 F)

When not to go Armenia

If you are not a winter person and don’t enjoy visiting a new place in colder temperatures, avoid the winter months. As mentioned above, April and May might not be a good fit either due to a large number of rainy days. As far as warmer months go, July gets quite busy with tourists, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Breaking news, body found inside flaming boat near nyc landmark sunny’s ‘a flashback to the old days of red hook’.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

A little bit of the “old days” came back to Red Hook early Saturday when the FDNY was called to a boat fire near a world-famous bar in the Brooklyn nabe, and discovered a smoldering body in the wreckage.

The FDNY responding to a call of a “dumpster fire” at 253 Conover St., between Beard and Reed streets, found flames shooting out of a boat on a trailer just before 5 a.m., the FDNY and NYPD said.

Stunned firefighters found the man’s body inside the boat, an NYPD spokesperson said.

“I called it in. Honestly, I thought it was a dumpster fire. These days they have all these lithium batteries. My second thought was that it’s hazardous material. It was a powerful blaze,” Sunny’s owner Tone Balzano Johansen, 58, who lives upstairs from the bar, told The Post.

They found a boat in flames on a trailer.

She found it strange when an ambulance pulled up to the scene.

When she learned there was a dead body aboard the ”fiberglass” boat, it gave Johansen the creeps.

“It was a flashback to the old days of Red Hook. The Red Hook of yesteryear,” she noted.

Johansen said the bar closed at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday and an hour later her bartender had closed-up and unlocked her bike and headed for home.

Johansen said she did not hear a thing. “I was facing the other way [sleeping] so I saw something orange, flickering.. and I turn around and it was a big blaze.”

She continued: “I’m a little suspicious. We don’t really have homeless people much in this neighborhood because it’s too far from the hustle and bustle of the city,” she reasoned, adding the locale is far from the subway. “I don’t think a homeless person would have curled up in a boat. I think it’s an inside job,” she added.

Johansen, is a Norwegian artist and the widow of Sunny Balzone, the original proprietor of the legendary Red Hook bar and beloved raconteur who died on March 10, 2016. The rough-and-tumble gin mill is a local institution and was a favorite of the hard-scrabble best-selling author and chef Bourdain.

Stunned firefighters found the man's body inside the boat

Cops could be seen Saturday morning examining the charred boat and surveying the lot.

The FDNY fire marshal is investigating what sparked the blaze, and a medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death, officials said.
