Thailand Tours & Holidays

Two women talking with their guide next to the buddhas at the WatPho temple

Thailand is an idyllic paradise, where jungle-covered karsts plunge into aquamarine waters and the sand is sugar white.

But no matter how clichéd the fantasy, Thailand delivers in spades. The water around Krabi and Ko Tao really is that deep, cool shade of blue. Phi Phi’s limestone karsts really do look like some alien world. And the food? Let’s just say your local Pad Thai has nothing on Chiang Mai’s street stalls or the floating markets of Amphawa, where little old ladies do things with fish sauce and chilli you never thought possible. From the waterfalls of Erawan to a homestay with the hill tribes of the Golden Triangle, these adventures go beyond the tourist traps. Buckle up.

Learn more about Thailand

Best time to visit thailand.

Thailand's climate is generally hot, humid and at times (like other South East Asian countries) monsoonal. The seasons differ from coast to coast, so depending on which areas you're visiting, the weather can vary.

Thailand's mainland region is great to visit from November to February when the weather is cooler and dryer.

If you are planning on visiting the Gulf Coast (east), avoid the northeast monsoon that brings rain from October to January. For destinations like Phuket on the west side of the peninsula, the best time is November to April to avoid the other monsoon which causes Thailand's wet season from May to October.

Culture and customs

Often considered the epicentre of Buddhism, religion permeates daily life in Thailand. Sprinkled throughout the country are thousands of golden temples, where you’ll find Buddhist monks in orange robes walking the streets. Young men are expected to spend some time as a monk as it bestows honour on their families. Visitors should be respectful of monks and dress modestly when visiting a temple (cover your knees and shoulders and remove your shoes).

Like other Asian nations, the concept of ‘saving face’ is important. This means avoiding conflict or embarrassment in order to preserve social standing, dignity and honour. Thai people will go out of their way to avoid ‘losing face’. Losing your temper or raising your voice are surefire ways to lose face and can be perceived as volatile or rude.

Eating and drinking

Thai food has everything from spicy dishes packed with chillies to milder coconut-based curries. With street stalls and night markets all over the country, it's really easy to pick up a snack wherever you are in Thailand. On many Intrepid trips, you'll be given the opportunity to have dinner with a local family – this offers a great chance to see how meals are prepared and learn more about the local culture.

Go a step further on our 8-day Thailand Read Food Adventure to watch, eat, prepare and present tasty and traditional Thai cuisine.

Things to try in Thailand

1. Pad Thai (Phat Thai)

A well-known dish but for good reason. This delicious plate of stir-fried rice noodles garnished with peanuts is full of flavour and can be served with fresh prawns, chicken, tofu or vegetables.

2. Tom Yum (Tom Yam)

Usually prepared with stock, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and chilli, this soup is widely available in Thailand and has been popularised around the world.

3. Green curry

One of many curries that Thais do so well. Green curry consists of chicken, Thai eggplant and chillies bathed in a coconut milk-based sauce.

4. Som tam (green papaya salad)

This northern dish of shredded raw papaya, cherry tomatoes and green beans is a tantalising mix of sweet, spicy and sour flavours.

5. Coconut water

For a super fresh thirst quencher, try coconut water straight from the husk.

6. Tropical fruit

Fruit shakes and fresh fruit juices are widely available from markets and restaurants – make the most of all the tropical fruits of Thailand.

Geography and environment

Sharing borders with South East Asian neighbours   Cambodia ,   Laos ,   Malaysia   and   Myanmar   (Burma), Thailand's natural environment varies greatly from region to region. From the steamy jungles and misty highlands in the north to the white sand beaches and picturesque islands of the south, Thailand's everchanging landscape has been fascinating and entertaining travellers for centuries.

The capital, Bangkok, is a heaving, urban jungle with skyscrapers, street vendors, markets, cars, tuk-tuks, bicycles and masses of people all competing for space. Despite this, there are pockets of quiet beauty to be found with parks, temples and traditional shop fronts scattered throughout the city.

Rural areas in the north are typically quieter, with locals living a more traditional way of life; the frenetic pace of the city gives way to a more slow-paced, agricultural-based lifestyle. Houses are simple, there's more space and less of the modern conveniences. Jungles, rivers, bamboo huts and teak houses are more commonly seen here, and birds and other animal life are more abundant.

History and government

Early history.

Communities based on agriculture (such as rice growing) inhabited Siam (Thailand) as early as the 6th century. In the following centuries, Siam came under the influence of the Khmer, Dvaravati and Malay cultures, with some temples and monuments in modern-day Thailand showing evidence of this influence. In the 13th century, the city of Sukhothai in northern Thailand became an important capital. The ruins of the Sukhothai Historical Park (a UNESCO World Heritage site) feature remnants of the royal palace, temples and other buildings and highlight the artistic and architectural features of the era.

Ayutthaya rose to prominence as the new capital in the 14th century and was considered a powerhouse of South East Asia as one of the most important centres of trade in the world. Enduring many battles, invasions, overthrows and coups, Ayutthaya's far-reaching trade with other regions ensured a flourishing influence of art, weaponry, religion and cuisine. Much wealth was generated by this enormous empire, with grand palaces, ornate buildings and huge temples featured throughout the city. All this came to an end when the Burmese invaded in the 18th century, bringing the kingdom to ruin and resulting in the loss of many artistic and cultural treasures. Despite this, the ruins of the city are still standing, have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and are a great day trip from Bangkok.

See the sights of ancient and recent Thai history during a 3 day River Kwai and Ancient Thai Kingdoms tour.

Recent history

Thonburi was established as the capital of Siam by General Taksin in the late 18th century, yet this didn't last long, with Taksim being deposed and executed not long after. Bangkok was then named capital by General Chakri, who became Rama I - the first king of the Rama Dynasty.

Over the years, Siam (Thailand) remained the only South East Asian country to remain free from European colonisation. In 1932, the Siamese Revolution resulted in a constitutional monarchy being formed, and in 1941, Thailand invaded French Indochina, overpowered the French and claimed Laos.

In the last thirty years, Thailand has seen political power change hands many times, often due to coups, revolutions and protests. Despite this, Thailand’s economy continues to grow due to its strong tourist industry. Enduring all this, the much-loved King Rama IX has reigned as the Head of State since 1946 - claiming the title of the longest-reigning monarch in the world and providing Thai people with a stable figure to rely upon.

6. Sukhothai

This former capital is a history buff's heaven. Nicknamed the 'Dawn of Happiness', Sukhothai still recalls Siam's golden age with its superb statues, marvellous monuments and lotus flowers in full bloom. A trip to the night market is a real eye-opener; try everything from fried rice to fried bugs.

Stop by Sukhothai on our 8 day Explore Northern Thailand adventure.

The waters surrounding Krabi are dotted with hundreds of limestone karst islands. Kayakers and rock climbers will love exploring them, while others can travel to the nearby floating villages or just relax on one of the region's perfect beaches.

7. Phang Nga Bay

Phang Nga Bay, is perhaps one of Thailand's most recognisable gems. Kayak around the green waters, admiring the sheer limestone karsts that jut dramatically out of the sea.

Coast through the must-see sights of Phang Nga Bay on our 8 day Phuket Sailing Adventure.

Bustling street markets filled with colourful vendors selling an assortment of goods can be found in small villages and large towns throughout the country. Luxurious, multi-level shopping malls that rival those in European cities are increasingly popping up.

The Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is perhaps the largest and most extensive market in the world. Here vendors sell everything you can think of, from ceramics to Thai silk to vintage clothing. Bartering is expected at markets and most small vendors. As a rule of thumb, if the price isn’t listed, it’s negotiable. But remember Thais appreciate friendliness and a sense of humour. The more aggressive you are in trying to get a deal, the less likely you are to get one.

Things to buy in Thailand

  • Vibrant fabric cushions, tablecloths and hammocks
  • Silver jewellery (Look for reputable stores)
  • Handcrafted umbrellas or parasols
  • Thai silk scarves, ties, wraps and clothing
  • Colourful Celadon ceramics
  • Tailor-made clothing

Festival and events

Loy krathong (festival of lights).

During the 12th lunar month, people across the country gather around lakes, rivers and canals to symbolically let their worries float away in the most magical way – by releasing colourful lotus-shaped rafts holding candles, incense and flowers onto the water.

Yee Peng (or Yi Peng)

At the same time that Loy Krathong is taking place, Chiang Mai also celebrates Yee Peng. Religious events, cultural activities and street parades all mark this Buddhist tradition. But what makes this festival truly spectacular is the release of thousands of sky lanterns that illuminate the sky.

Songkran (Thai New Year)

What happens when New Year’s Day falls during the height of summer? It morphs into a giant water fight. Some towns celebrate just on the day (April 13), while others stretch it out for several days of concerts, ceremonies and other wet festivities.

Chiang Mai Flower Festival

Flowers are used in ways you never thought imaginable at this colourful three-day event in February. Come for the parade of impressive floral floats, and stay for the tasty Thai street food, music and performances.

Is Thailand a safe destination for LGBTQIA+ travellers?

As a whole, Thailand is a hassle-free destination for LGBTQI travellers. Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket all have fairly prominent gay scenes. Be aware that Thais typically do not engage in public displays of affection, regardless of sexual orientation.

What's the transport like in Thailand?

Intrepid believes half the fun of experiencing a new country is getting there, and getting around once there!

Where possible, Intrepid uses local transport options and traditional modes of transport - which usually carry less of an environmental impact, support small local operators and are heaps more fun.

Depending on which trip you're on while in Thailand, you may find yourself travelling by Songthaew.

Get to know the locals as you share a ride in these converted pick-up trucks. Snagging a seat on the ‘two benches’ (the literal meaning of songthaew) is a popular way of getting around across South East Asia.

See Thailand from the ground level on a Saamlaw, the three-wheeled wonder. Sometimes motorized but usually pedal-powered by a local, it’s a fun way to get from A to B or to see the sights of a new city.

What's the accommodation like in Thailand?

Travelling with Intrepid is a little bit different. We endeavour to provide travellers with an authentic experience to remember, so we try to keep accommodation as unique and traditional as possible.

When travelling with us in Thailand you may find yourself staying in a Homestay.

Experience friendly Thai hospitality while staying with a local family living a traditional way of life. Make new friends, pick up some local lingo and leave smiling.

The ultimate room with a view - spend the night on a floating bamboo raft house. Enjoy the seclusion, soak up the serenity and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Does my trip to Thailand support The Intrepid Foundation?

Yes, all Intrepid trips support the Intrepid Foundation. In fact, we make a donation on behalf of every traveller. Trips to Thailand directly support our foundation partner, EcoThailand Foundation .

EcoThailand Foundation is on a mission to educate and empower local communities, on the tourist Islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Paluay, about environmental issues like climate change, waste management, nature appreciation, conservation and sustainable lifestyles. Donations from our trips help EcoThailand's environmental guardianship education program for children in local state schools.

Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Do I need to purchase travel insurance before travelling?

Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

For more information on insurance, please go to: Travel Insurance

How do I stay safe and healthy while travelling?

Intrepid takes the health and safety of its travellers seriously and takes every measure to ensure that trips are safe, fun and enjoyable for everyone. We recommend that all travellers check with their government or national travel advisory organisation for the latest information before departure:

Southern Thailand Itinerary - The Most Beautiful Destinations

Dieser Artikel ist auch verfügbar auf: Deutsch

A tour of southern Thailand is simultaneously an adventurous discovery of Thailand’s island world. But it offers much more than just beaches, as it also includes beautiful landscapes with limestone cliffs, such as in Krabi or the Khao Sok National Park . While a Northern Thailand tour focuses more on culture, here, of course, beaches and the sea are at the forefront.

Southern Thailand Itinerary – Paradise Islands and Beautiful Landscapes

There’s a lot to discover on a southern Thailand tour. In our Southern Thailand itinerary, you will find popular islands like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao on the west coast as well as places like Phuket, Khao Lak, or Koh Phi Phi on the east coast . Some of the locations couldn’t be more different.

In this Southern Thailand itinerary, we show you two interesting route suggestions for the south. You might be thinking now: “Just beach and sea gets boring after a while”. But the islands have much more to offer: temples, waterfalls, hiking trails, markets, and the fantastic sunsets are just a few highlights.

Of course, you can also combine the places mentioned below on the east and west coasts, as southern Thailand is very well connected overall. If you don’t like a place, you can simply skip it.

Starting Point West Coast: Getting to Phuket

The quickest way to get to Phuket is by direct flight . This can be done either from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur, or even from Europe and many other places. The price depends on the airline and the route, so no exact details can be given here. It’s best to compare prices on Skyscanner .

Other ways to get there include the bus or minivan from many parts of Thailand. Whether it’s from Khao Lak, Bangkok, or Surat Thani, you’ll always find a way to get to Phuket. The journey can take up to 12 hours (from Bangkok) or just two hours from Khao Lak. You can find connections and prices with our partner 12go.asia . Booking is absolutely straightforward, and we often use the site ourselves.

Starting Point East Coast: Getting to Koh Samui

The easiest and quickest way to get to Koh Samui is by direct flight from Bangkok , Kuala Lumpur , or Singapore . However, it’s cheaper if you arrive via Surat Thani or Nakhon Si Thammarat on the mainland of Thailand, e.g. with AirAsia. At the destination airport, you can then take a bus to Donsak Pier or Tapee Pier and from there take the ferry to Koh Samui.

The cheapest flights to Koh Samui can be found on Skyscanner . For example, we highly recommend Thai Lion Air. There are also bus and train connections if you want to arrive even cheaper. Tickets and information on times can be found with our partner 12go.asia .

Southern Thailand: Tours and Tickets

Southern thailand itinerary – west coast, 1. phuket (3-4 days).

Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is very touristy. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t also experience exciting things there that take place away from tourism. Phuket is especially known for the district Patong in the southwest with its extravagant nightlife. But it would be wrong to reduce the island to just that.

Also worth a visit on the island is the picturesque old town of Phuket Town. There you will get a completely different view than at the well-known beach destinations. Of course, you shouldn’t miss out on beaches in Phuket! Apart from the busy beaches like Patong , Kata , or Karon , there are many other beaches worth discovering.

View from Promthep Cape to Nai Harn Beach on Phuket

Even after that, there’s still plenty more to see with the attractions on Phuket . Markets, temples like the Big Buddha, and stunning viewpoints round off your stay at the first stop of your South Thailand round trip.

Many avoid Phuket, but if you give the island a chance and look beyond the obvious, you’ll see that it offers something for everyone.

Our hotel recommendation for Phuket : Amari Phuket

2. Koh Phi Phi (2-3 days)

Almost everyone who visits Koh Phi Phi thinks of the movie The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio, as it was filmed on location. This refers to the smaller of the two Koh Phi Phi islands: Koh Phi Phi Leh . It’s perfect for day trips. Even if the Maya Bay is currently officially closed, there are still other picturesque places there. Koh Phi Phi is more than just Maya Bay!

View from Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint

The main tourism takes place on the larger island Koh Phi Phi Don . With many hotels, restaurants, bars, and even Muay Thai Boxing events, most visitors head to Tonsai Village .

Muay Thai in Southern Thailand

The further you move away from the main town (on foot, of course, as there are no vehicles here), the quieter it gets. Visit the Koh Phi Phi Viewpoint with its breathtaking view, the Long Beach , or rent a longtail boat to explore the other side of the island.

Our hotel recommendation for Koh Phi Phi : ChaoKoh Koh Phi Phi Hotel & Resort

3. Koh Lanta (2-3 days)

Unlike Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta is a very calm island that belongs to the Krabi region. You won’t find a vibrant nightlife here, but instead plenty of peace, nature, and beautiful beaches . Especially on the west coast of Koh Lanta, you can explore one beach after another during a Southern Thailand tour. After visiting the bustling places you’ve been to before, Koh Lanta can be a wonderful change to recharge your batteries.

The Mu Koh Lanta National Park with the lighthouse in the background

With a scooter, you can discover Koh Lanta on your own. In addition to the beaches and places on the west coast, there are mangrove forests in the east or the small town of Lanta Old Town to explore. Don’t miss the Mu Koh Lanta National Park in the south of the island with its lighthouse and jungle trails.

Our hotel recommendation for Koh Lanta : Royal Lanta Resort & Spa

4. Krabi/Ao Nang (3-4 days)

Scenically, the Krabi region with the town of Ao Nang is definitely one of the most beautiful in Thailand! This place can’t be missed in any Southern Thailand itinerary! The massive limestone cliffs, tropical forests, islands with white sandy beaches, and turquoise-blue sea – it doesn’t get any better. While most visitors arrive in Krabi Town , this place is only used as a stopover to continue traveling to Ao Nang or, for example, to visit the Tiger Cave Temple .

Off the coast of Ao Nang, you can visit countless islands, such as Koh Poda , Chicken Island , Hong Island , and more. But the mainland also offers impressive places, some of which, like the Railay Peninsula or the Tonsai Beach , can only be reached by boat. There are day trips in Ao Nang aplenty.

Marcel and a Longtail boat on Chicken Island in Krabi, Southern Thailand

Apart from island life and the beaches, Krabi or Ao Nang has a lot to offer. Lagoons like the Emerald Pool , hikes to the Dragon Crest Mountain , markets, temples, or visiting neighboring towns Klong Muang and Tubkaek . For us personally, this was the most beautiful stop on this Southern Thailand tour!

Our hotel recommendation for Ao Nang : Deevana Krabi Resort

5. Khao Lak (2-3 days)

Khao Lak is a very popular holiday destination in Thailand, yet a bit confusing for first-time visitors. The name Khao Lak actually refers to the entire region stretching north of Phuket along the coast. The most well-known places where most visitors look for accommodations are Bang La On and Bang Niang . There, you’ll find everything your heart desires: hotels, beaches, massages, restaurants, bars, and markets as well.

Bang Niang Beach in Khao Lak, Southern Thailand Tour

Outside of these tourist centers, there’s much more to discover in Khao Lak. From memorials for the 2004 Tsunami to viewpoints, waterfalls, and fantastic tours to the Similan Islands or Surin Islands , you’ll never get bored here.

Tip : If you have some extra time in Khao Lak, you can also visit the Khao Sok National Park in Surat Thani from here. It’s not too far away and is therefore a great excursion option. For more information, see point 5 of the Southern Thailand – East Coast tour.

Our hotel recommendation for Khao Lak : Mai Khao Lak Beach Resort & Spa

Southern Thailand Itinerary – East Coast

1. koh samui (3-4 days).

On the South Thailand round trip on the East Coast, Koh Samui is our starting point. It is the largest island in the Gulf of Thailand and the “Coconut Island”, as Koh Samui is sometimes called, offers something for everyone. For some travelers, it’s certainly a dream island, for others, it’s already too touristy. However, in Koh Samui you can find everything you want. We always love to be there!

From a vibrant nightlife, busy or even secluded beaches , weekly Walking Streets, to impressive temples, the choice could hardly be greater. In the mountains of Koh Samui as well as in the south and west, there is also the popular originality that you can explore away from the tourist crowds.

Colorful Longtail boat on the beach of Nathon in Koh Samui

To explore Koh Samui, a scooter tour on your own is worth it. But the organized tours are also an exciting change. In both ways, you can discover many facets and get your own impression of the tropical island.

Our hotel tip for Koh Samui : Amari Koh Samui

2. Ang Thong National Park (1 day)

The Ang Thong National Park is an archipelago located far off the coasts of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan . Day trips to Ang Thong are offered from both islands, with the destinations varying depending on the starting point. There can be significant price differences depending on the provider and whether the tour is conducted on a speedboat or a wooden boat is offered.

Dream beach on the island of Koh Wua Ta Lap in the Ang Thong National Park in southern Thailand

Special highlights of a tour might include the island of Koh Mae Ko with its blue lagoon, Koh Wua Ta Lap with a breathtaking viewpoint over the national park, or Koh Phaluai with a small local village.

For more information, you can read our article on the day trip to the Ang Thong National Park .

3. Koh Phangan (2-3 days)

Koh Phangan is primarily known for one thing: the monthly Full Moon Party . But even apart from that, there’s plenty of nightlife for party-goers. The Half Moon Festival, the Loi Lay Floating Boat , the Waterfall Party , or Hollystone are just a few options. The fire shows on the beach are also universally popular. There’s never a dull evening on the island of Koh Phangan!

Drone shot of Bottle Beach on Koh Phangan in Thailand

But if you only associate Koh Phangan with parties, you’re missing out on the island’s most beautiful aspects. These are far away from the parties and are best explored by scooter. How about a boat tour to Bottle Beach with a visit to the viewpoint? Or a short walk over the sandbar from the beach in Mae Haad to the small island of Koh Ma ?

Need more inspiration for beautiful beaches? Then read our article on 10 beaches on Koh Phangan that you should visit.

Sunset on Koh Phangan with a view of the small island Koh Ma

To ensure you’re never bored, Koh Phangan offers much more. Discover the waterfalls, go on hikes in the jungle (e.g., to Khao Ra , the island’s highest mountain) or enjoy the peace in the jungle temples. By the way, the best way to end the day on Koh Phangan is in one of the countless Sunset Bars in the west or south of the island.

Our hotel tip for Koh Phangan : Sea Love Bungalows

4. Koh Tao (2 days)

The island of Koh Tao is especially popular among divers and snorkelers on a tour of southern Thailand, as it offers excellent spots for these activities. There are some places where you can snorkel directly from the beautiful beaches , e.g., the Mango Bay . But there are also other snorkeling and diving spots like the Sail Rock or Koh Nang Yuan that are often visited from Koh Tao.

View from John Suwan Viewpoint on Koh Tao during a tour of southern Thailand

Otherwise, Koh Tao is very small, and you can cover the island in 20 minutes with a scooter. Nevertheless, the island offers several other activities and things to do besides swimming, snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing. Nightlife at Sairee Beach , fascinating viewpoints like the John Suwan Viewpoint , or a whale skeleton are just a few more options.

Find more in our article Koh Tao – 16 Things to Do .

Our hotel recommendation for Koh Tao : Palm Leaf Resort

5. Khao Sok (1-2 days)

If you want to experience more than just beaches and islands on a South Thailand tour, then you shouldn’t miss the Khao Sok National Park! It belongs to the province of Surat Thani , as do the islands Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao. With the Ratchaprapha Dam , the Cheow Lan Lake , and the diverse wildlife with wild elephants, tigers, and more, the Khao Sok National Park is among the most beautiful landscapes in South Thailand.

Sunset in the Khao Sok National Park in South Thailand

What we highly recommend is an overnight stay in the water bungalows and a tour with the longtail boat. From the water, the landscape is truly breathtaking, and rock formations like Hin Sam Glur seem as if they’re straight out of a picture book. But you can also go hiking, visit waterfalls, and experience other activities on site.

Note : If you decide on a Southern Thailand tour along the west coast, you can still include the Khao Sok National Park. Numerous tours are also offered from Khao Lak, as it’s not far away.

Our hotel tip for the Khao Sok National Park : Keereewarin

Thailand Frequently Asked Questions

We help you prepare for your trip and ensure an effortless and enjoyable travel experience.

How many days are enough for Thailand?

Thailand is one of the most sought-after destinations, especially for those planning their first international trip. From radiant beaches and majestic temples to delicious street food, exotic spa treatment, and bustling shopping hubs, there is something for everyone in Thailand. Also, there are many exciting places to visit nearby, such as Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai, and more. So, the number of days in Thailand depends on your requirements and the places you wish to visit. However, to get the most out of Thailand, you should plan on spending about at least 6 to 8 days. You can check and book any of our Thailand packages with an itinerary that includes all popular places in the country.

Is Thailand safe to travel to?

Yes, Thailand is a safe country to travel even if you are a solo traveller. However, you should always take safety precautions and be aware of your surroundings when travelling to Thailand, or anywhere for that matter. As long as you stay alert, be cautious and keep an eye on your belongings, etc., you will not have to worry about it. Also, COVID-19 restrictions and preventative measures are still in effect in many places, so be prepared with proof of vaccination or a test result. Additionally, we assure your safety and security throughout the visit with Veena World’s Thailand tour package.

What should avoid in Thailand?

Thailand is a must-visit country for any budding traveller. But to enjoy your trip to the fullest, you should know what to do and what not to. It is a country dominated by the Buddhist school of thought, so it is wise to maintain more silence and avoid being loud. Drugs and gambling are illegal, so you must avoid them. Some other avoidable things include avoiding touching anyone's head as it is seen as disrespectful, overstaying your visa period, wearing shoes at religious places, clicking pictures with animals, and drinking tap water. Book from the best of Thailand holiday packages, but be aware of things to do and not to do in this beautiful and culturally-rich country.

What are the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand?

Whether you are a fun traveller, an avid history buff, or a nature enthusiast, Thailand has all the attractions to please everyone. From sleepy mountain villages to bustling cities and pristine islands, you can find everything here. Some of the best places to visit here are Railay tops, one of the best beaches in the country, Phi Phi Islands, The Grand Palace, Bangkok, Sukhothai Old City, Historic City of Ayutthaya, Beaches of Koh Samui, Doi Suthep, Floating Markets, Kanchanaburi Bridge, Waterfalls at Erawan National Park and more. You can select the best Thailand trip package from Veena World that includes the places listed above and enjoy an unforgettable trip with your family and friends.

Is Thailand worth visiting?

Absolutely! Thailand is called one of the jewels of Southeast Asia, and for a reason. There are many attractions in Thailand, and each provides a great experience in its own way. So, everyone should visit this country at least once in their lifetime to explore the local culture, exotic wildlife, welcoming people, magnificently-structured temples, and many more. Thailand is known as the Land of Smile, where your trip experience is sure to stay with you for a long time! Veena World’s Thailand travel packages will allow you to enjoy your time like never before.

Do you provide a customized holiday to Thailand?

What is the best month to go to Thailand?

The best time to visit Thailand is between November and February when the weather is cool and pleasant. The rainy season, which lasts from July to October, is characterized by heavy rainfall and high humidity. Many islands closed down during this time to ensure safety. The second-best can be the shoulder season from April to June, with fewer crowds and less humidity. Flight tickets and accommodation prices fall during this time period, making it ideal for budget travel. You can book one of the Thailand tour packages from Veena World during this time to make your trip more cost-effective.

Is a Group tour a good option for travelling to Thailand?

Moreover, booking one of Veena World's group tours to Thailand allows you to travel hassle-free with our professional and caring Tour Manager. Which is the best part of Thailand for stay purposes?

Thailand being one of the big countries in terms of size, you can expect many worthful parts in and around to stay. It usually depends on your preferences and overall budget. Veena World offers customized holiday packages to Thailand that allow you to stay in your preferred part of the country. Some of the best parts of Thailand are:

•    Bangkok – Budget-friendly accommodations.

•    Phuket – Cultural attractions are within walking distance of hotels.

•    Chiang Mai – Peaceful and vibrant surroundings.

If you want to discuss more or have suggestions for your stay options, connect with our travel advisor to plan your trip conveniently.

Although Thailand is quite an economical place, the money you should carry here depends on the purpose and luxury of your visit. When you make a booking with Veena World, we usually take care of all services and sightseeing included in your Thailand tour package itinerary. However, tourists should bring enough money for personal expenses to indulge in shopping, trying out the local cuisine, having beverages, renting a vehicle and other amenities offered by the hotel/resort as well as for any emergency due to medical reasons or unforeseen situations. You can get your currency exchanged for the local currency (Thai Baht) through several providers located in proximity to tourists’ attractions or carry an international credit or debit card or a forex card.

Jens was great driver and tour guide. He kept us entertained with his jokes and knowledge about Australia and the sites. We stopped at many interesting tourist sites giving us a good overview of the great ocean road. The hotels were truly boutique hotels. The breakfasts and lunches included were large portions and good variety from place to place. The group we travelled with was diverse, but an inter group to travel with. What people love about adelaide tours.

Wonderful trip! Highly recommend! Our guide/driver Kevin really knew Kangaroo Island and provided some flexibility in the schedule. Accommodations in both Penneshaw and Kingscote were comfortable. The breakfasts provided were very good. Favorites were Flinders Chase National Park and the Remarkable Rocks, the Penneshaw Penguins, and Seal Bay.
I enjoyed the experience, overall it was the tours fault the ITN changed due to fires, overall it was good,
An excellent trip from Adelaide to Melbourne. We were a small group that got on well and we were looked after by our guide and driver Craig.
