Safari Park: Experience the Wild in a Safari Adventure

Safari Park is the main attraction of Safari World Bangkok. It is a 480-acre open zoo that simulates the natural habitats of wild animals from Africa and Asia. You can see more than 75 species and over 1,200 animals, such as lions, tigers, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, elephants, and many more.

The best way to explore Safari Park is by taking a safari drive, which is a 45-minute ride in a car or a bus that takes you through the different zones and areas of the park. You can either use your own car, rent a car, or join a guided tour. Along the way, you can observe the animals up close and learn about their behaviors and characteristics from the guide or the audio commentary.

Some of the highlights of Safari Park are:

African Savanna: This is the first zone of Safari Park, where you can see animals that live in the grasslands of Africa, such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, wildebeests, antelopes, and ostriches. You can also see the rare white lions, which are only found in a few places in the world.

Jungle Cruise: This is the second zone of Safari Park, where you can see animals that live in the tropical forests of Asia, such as tigers, bears, deer, monkeys, and crocodiles. You can also see the Bengal tigers, which are the largest and most powerful cats in the world.

Bird Sanctuary: This is the third zone of Safari Park, where you can see a variety of birds, such as flamingos, pelicans, cranes, storks, and eagles. You can also see the colorful macaws, which are the largest and most intelligent parrots in the world.

Giraffe Feeding Platform: This is a special area in Safari Park, where you can get up close and personal with the giraffes, the tallest animals in the world. You can feed them with carrots or bananas, take photos with them, and even touch their long tongues.

Safari Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day. The admission fee is 1,000 baht for adults and 900 baht for children. You can also buy a combo ticket that includes both Safari Park and Marine Park for 1,500 baht for adults and 1,400 baht for children.

Marine Park: Discover the Wonders of the Marine World and Beyond

Marine Park is the second attraction of Safari World Bangkok. It is a 180-acre theme park that features a variety of shows and exhibits involving marine animals and other animals. You can see more than 200 species and over 8,000 animals, such as dolphins, seals, sea lions, whales, sharks, penguins, and many more.

The best way to enjoy Marine Park is by watching the shows, which are performed several times a day at different venues. You can also visit the exhibits, which display the animals in their habitats and provide information and education about them.

Some of the highlights of Marine Park are:

Dolphin Show: This is the most popular show in Marine Park, where you can see the dolphins perform amazing tricks and stunts, such as jumping, spinning, flipping, and dancing. You can also see the dolphins interact with the trainers and the audience, and even join them in the water for a swim or a kiss.

Sea Lion Show: This is another entertaining show in Marine Park, where you can see the sea lions show off their skills and intelligence, such as balancing, playing, and solving puzzles. You can also see the sea lions communicate with the trainers and the audience, and even participate in some games and activities.

Safari World and Marine Park in Bangkok is a fun day out for the whole family. The variety of things to see and do makes this a fun and enjoyable place for everybody. Coupled with Thai hospitality, Safari World is a kids paradise.

This huge park is divided into two areas, a drive through safari park and a marine park which also offers a number of shows.

Safari World

The safari drive through offers a chance to view from close by wild animals from Africa and Asia on a five kilometer drive through African safari like wilderness. Here you can view thousands of animals like rhino, deer, bear, zebra, giraffe and many kinds of tropical birds in a natural like habitat. As you will get very close to the animals, this ride also provides excellent photo opportunities.

Watch the tiger feeding A separate area enclosed by double gates is home of the lions and the Bengal tigers. Every morning at 10 am the lions and tigers are being fed, which can be observed by visitors and is an unforgettable experience.

Marine Park

The second part of the park is the Marine Park, which is a walk through Zoo with a number of animal shows. Strollers are available for rent for the smaller kids at the entrance.

Visitors feeding a baby tiger

In this part of the park animals as walrus, orangutan, kangaroo, monkey, crocodile, tapir, all kinds of tropical birds and giant fish can be seen. Kids love the safari terrace where you can walk up a ramp to come face to face with the giraffes, which children can feed. Buckets of food can be bought for 40 Baht.

After lunch at 1:45 pm the dolphin show starts where these intelligent and friendly animals perform a number of tricks, playing with balls and effortlessly making somersaults.

Mini World bird aviary

Mini World is a place where you and the children can come in very close contact to a number of different species of birds. There is an aviary here where large tropical birds live and an area for smaller birds like parakeets. Feeding these little birds will soon bring dozens of them on your hands, arms and shoulders, a lovely experience for kids.

River Safari Ride

The river safari ride is a boat ride taking about 30 minutes through the “jungle”, especially fun for children. Along the way all kinds of animals (not real) that live in the jungle can be seen while listening to sounds of the jungle. The river safari ride is located in the Marine Park section.

Dolphins at Safari World and Marine Park

Spy War is a spectacular action filled show with explosions, gunfire and para trooping stunts. The Cowboy show takes you back to the wild west and features a number of exciting stunts. Cowboys and villains fight it out with gunshots and fist fights.

Safari World Bangkok Has An Open Concept Zoo With Free-Roaming Animals & A Giraffe Terrace For Close Encounters

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

Safari World Bangkok

This one’s for the animal lovers and families in search of a full day escape from Bangkok city life.  Safari World in Bangkok has its very own open-concept zoo where its animals are allowed to free-roam as though they’re back in the wild – well, kinda.

In any case, if you’re looking for a safari experience which gives you and the kiddos a chance to get up close and personal with all creatures great and small, read on to find out more about our day trip to Thailand’s biggest zoo and marine park.

More places to check out in Bangkok:

  • 8 new things to do in Bangkok in 2022

Massive open-concept zoo is a combination of 2 large parks

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

Though much has been said about Safari World Bangkok , when we heard this was Thailand’s biggest zoo, we weren’t quite sure on what to expect. Sure enough, when we finally got to take a look at the map, the park was absolutely massive and we didn’t even know where to begin!

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

The zoo itself was split into 2 parks: Safari World and Marine Park, home to land animals and the beloved creatures of the sea respectively.

We observed that the park seemed to be well-loved by both tourists and locals alike. During our visit, we saw crowds of local students coming out of the marine park. It was definitely an endearing sight which brought back some nostalgic childhood memories of visiting the zoos back home.

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

For potential guests, we’d definitely recommend coming in some comfy shoes as we had to navigate the park mostly by foot. So if you’re looking to make the most out of your visit, make sure to come prepared. I’m not sure about you, but I definitely exceeded my 10,000 step count goal that day.

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

While there were so many pitstops we wished to make – from the giraffe terraces to bird menageries – we had arrived just in time for their daily Sealion Show at 2PM. Not wanting to miss a minute of it, we rushed over. And boy, was it worth it.

Family-friendly animal shows & plenty of fun photo-ops

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

Settling into the top most rows of a pretty packed arena, we waited with bated breath for the animal show to begin promptly on the dot. Once our main stars, an energetic pack of sealions swam – or waddled – onto the stage, they definitely stole the show in no time at all.

Just look at the fully-packed seats and everyone being absolutely captivated by the charming sealions performing!

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

What we loved was that their smooth moves were accompanied by an upbeat playlist of funky music. The main characters – the sealions – also seemed to be treated with care by their trainers and were rewarded generously for performing tricks – like balancing a basketball on its nose like a pro-NBA player.

With the trio nailing every trick in the performance, it was hard not to be in awe of these majestic sea creatures as the show drew to a close.

But for us, it was onwards and quite literally upwards to our next exhibit, the Giraffe Terrace.

Close encounters with critters at the Giraffe Terrace & bird menagerie

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

My experience here definitely re-defined “up close and personal” for me. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be able to get so close to a giraffe, after having only seen them on Nat-Geo documentaries.

Guests will be able to feed these giraffes their favourite fruits using a bamboo stick if they so desire. Do note that you’ll have to pay a small fee at the entrance of the terrace, to get this chance.

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

Even without us offering them fresh fruit, we found that the giraffes were incredibly tame and friendly. Just look at me enjoying my 1-on-1 time with this giraffe right here. Someone call me the animal whisperer right now.

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

If you missed your chance to take a 1-to-1 picture with your desired animal however, keep a lookout for these impromptu photo-ops between enclosures. We stumbled upon this imposing bird on our way to the giraffe terrace, among many other wild beasts – patiently awaiting interactions with visitors along with their caregivers.

Getting to Safari World & ticket prices

the safari world bangkok entrance fee

There’s a ton of things to do at Safari World Bangkok, so we’d recommend setting aside a full day to explore both parks thoroughly. In retrospect, we probably should have gone to the park a little earlier so that we could maximise our time there. Well, I guess you could learn from our mistakes, dear reader.

As for prices, expect entrance fees of ฿1,500 (~USD42) to visit both parks, if you want to spend an entire day here. If you’re looking to enjoy some deals, book your tickets in advance for pretty generous discounts.

The park is situated a little further from the city centre so you can consider getting a private hire car to bring you to the park or opt to take a taxi – like we did – to get here.

So here’s wishing you all the best on your zoological journey here at Safari World, especially to all the budding giraffe whisperers out there.

Great Experience. Don’t miss the lion feeding…

Our whole family had a great day.

Amazing experience for the safari park and all animals looks really healthy. We spent the whole day at both parks and definitely time well spent.

It was an awesome experience, we enjoyed feeding the animals and watching all the shows.

Very bad food, not suitable for animals to eat .

The tour operator didn’t turn up to take me on the tour, and nobody answered the phone when called a number of times over the space of 2 hours. Now trying to get a refund. Absolutely not acceptable.
