The ball has a compression rating of 67, which makes it feel great off the tee and around the greens, but it doesn’t sacrifice distance.

But the Tour Soft has its pros and cons. I could tell right away that this ball is not for everyone – especially advanced golfers.

The Titleist Tour Soft 2024 is softer and lighter than the Pro V1s , which was my first observation of the ball.

I found that it’s a much better alternative to the Pro V1s or any other hard ball for a high or mid-handicap golfer . It travels far, is softer at impact, and is more affordable than the Pro V1s.

It’s got an impressively large and fast core for an aerodynamic flight which I can confirm from my testing.

The ball’s got a good spin, but its non-urethane cover lacks greenside spin and control, which may make it unsuitable for golfers relying on the ball’s shot-shaping abilities.

Overall, the Tour Soft is an excellent value-for-money golf ball for everyday golfers.  However, it isn’t a groundbreaking, category-defying ball.

If you prioritize top-end performance in your short game, especially regarding spin and control, urethane-covered balls, like the TaylorMade Tour Response , are a better option. But, for the majority of golfers who value durability and distance, the Tour Soft remains a solid choice.

The Titleist Tour Soft was fun to review, and I came to interesting conclusions.

I must admit, it’s got a great balance of distance, spin, and overall performance. However, the impact on my driver wasn’t as soft as I expected.

If you’re looking for a soft feel ball, I recommend you check out the Callaway Super Soft.  But, if distance is also your priority, the Tour Soft delivers.

Off the tee, the Tour Soft delivered impressive results with low spin, resulting in longer and straighter flights.

This ball is also much cheaper than other balls produced by Titleist. It’s also extremely durable and long-lasting because I played a few rounds with it, and it still felt new.

So, for golfers prioritizing soft feel and distance gains, this might be the ideal ball. But utilizing different spin-based shots, like a backspin or a side-spin, and achieving maximum control around the greens may be more challenging.

Below, I’ve discussed the golf balls’ distance, spin, feel, and longevity.

The Titleist Tour Soft has a soft impact feel but is not the softest option. I found it to be significantly softer during my review than the Pro V1, which didn’t surprise me.

In comparison, balls like the Callaway Super Soft  provide a softer feel.

Off the tee, the Tour Soft provides impressive distance and carry. It plays quite long, and the larger core prevents energy losses even on faster swings.

I was particularly impressed by its consistent mid-height ball flights. In comparison, balls like the Taylormade Soft Response ball  sometimes lose momentum mid-air and fall short of their intended target.

However, with the Titleist Tour Soft, there are no such issues. The ball maintains its trajectory and distance consistently.

Here’s a breakdown of the spin of the Tour Soft golf ball on different types of shots.

• Driver Spin— The Tour Soft provides a remarkably consistent spin off the driver. Its low spin on tee shots allows the ball to travel straight and long.
• Iron Spin—  The Tour Soft spins moderately with irons while maintaining consistency.
• Short Game Spin—  Unfortunately, like all other non-urethane balls, the Tour Soft lacks the green-side control of high-performance tour balls. Since urethane-covered balls tend to spin approximately 20% more on short-game shots, they provide more shot-shaping abilities and control, making it easier to sink putts. In this regard, the TaylorMade Tour Response  is a better option.

Overall, the Tour Soft provides good spin consistency and control, making it suitable for most golfers’ needs. However, golfers who enjoy a spin shot on the green may find the Tour Soft golf ball lacking.

The Titleist Tour Soft has a low compression rating of 67, which makes it extremely forgiving on off-center strikes.

The low compression  makes it easier for the ball to compress on impact, reducing the energy lost and providing a larger sweet spot.

What you need to know: Titleist Tour Speed, Tour Soft golf balls

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Titleist updates its Tour Soft and Tour Speed balls with enhanced aerodynamics on the former and a reformulated core and intermediate mantle layer to instill distance, feel and all-around performance at a price a click more affordable than those balls played on tour.

THE DEEP DIVE: The new Titleist Tour Speed, a multilayer design with a proprietary thermoplastic urethane cover, and the Tour Soft, a two-piece model with an ultra-large core designed for a combination of distance with soft feel, reside in that emerging $30-$40 price category of balls. These balls aim to provide all-around performance while living at a price just a notch below the balls at the top of the pyramid.

But building in that performance at a more moderate price requires deeper exploration of the technologies that Titleist’s team of engineers has at its disposal. That’s especially challenging when the supply-chain issues that are plaguing the golf industry put more challenges on those design goals than the Rules of Golf and the laws of physics combined.

The next-generation Tour Speed was hit especially hard by supply-chain issues for golf ball materials like the ionomers used in developing the mantle, or casing layer. Indeed, the project became one of not making it better, but figuring out how to make it at all, said Mike Madson, Titleist’s senior director of golf ball research and engineering.

“When our engineers are creating prototypes we have a lot of different tools in the tool box,” he said. “We have materials that we know and we can predict their performance and we can iterate around those different permutations. But it got to the point in the supply chain challenge that some of the tools in our tool box weren’t there anymore.”

Madson said that meant looking at new materials and new combinations and even new suppliers all in an effort to simply make sure that the 2022 Tour Speed was at least as good as the 2020 Tour Speed.

“It required a bunch of extra testing that we normally don’t have to do,” he said. “When we’re working with materials we know, we know how they’re going to perform from a durability standpoint, from a consistency standpoint. When we’re looking at new things, we don’t know that and that made for a very interesting challenge.”

The result is a reformulated high-compression core for the energy that fuels distance and a reformulated ionomer mantle layer that keys lower spin on the longer shots for better flight. The new Tour Speed also features the same proprietary thermoplastic urethane cover that is unique to the company and goes by the name Titleist Performance Urethane. Like the original, it’s a break from Titleist’s leading Pro V1, Pro V1x and AVX models, which feature a cast urethane cover. The difference may be marginally less short-game spin on some shots for some players.

Together the mix of old and new components produce a Tour Speed that gives players a penetrating flight with better spin, targeting average golfers looking for distance in a urethane cover ball at a price 20 percent less than Titleist’s other urethane-cover balls.

On the new Tour Soft, the design challenge was more traditional but no less complicated or constrained. Targeting an audience with a clear preference for soft feel, the hurdle was finding more yards without changing the proven success of the ultra-large soft compression core (1.60 inches) and ultra-thin ionomer/polymer-blend cover unique to Titleist. The answer came with the dimple pattern, what’s called quadrilateral dipyramid with 346 dimples. It’s similar to the pattern developed for the Tour Speed but tweaked to match the marginally lower flight of the Tour Soft.

“We were really pushing aerodynamic development on this ball,” Madson said. “The quad dipyramid has four-way rotational symmetry about the pole, and that particular layout lent itself very well to the injection molding process. This version is the same count as Tour Speed but a slightly different layout. The dimple arrangements are a little different, surface coverage is a little different.

“The best thing about aerodynamics is that it’s free distance. You don’t have to give up any performance anywhere else. If an aerodynamic pattern gives you more distance, it’s just better.”

The thin proprietary ionomer blend cover is designed to produce better greenside grab than typical non-urethane cover balls.

The 2022 versions of Tour Speed ($40/dozen) and Tour Soft ($35/dozen) will be at retail May 20. Both will be offered in white and yellow (Tour Speed yellow scheduled for June 21).

Titleist are the brains behind some of the best golf balls on the market, with options for golfers of all abilities.

New for 2024, Titleist’s fourth generation of Tour Soft golf balls will be hoping to continue challenging the best amateur-level golf balls . Despite only being a two-piece construction, Tour Soft golf balls tend to perform much better than the best golf balls for beginners and high-handicappers .

Tour Soft are undoubtedly one of Titleist’s best golf balls because they appeal to a wide range of golfers. They present decent value compared to golf balls of a similar standard, but they aren’t cheap – costing more than £30/$35 per dozen.

If you’ve previously played with Tour Soft golf balls, you might have noticed they do lack greenside performance. However, Titleist have set about rectifying this for 2024.

New faster, larger core

The new faster, larger core in the 2024 Tour Soft helps to deliver faster ball speed and reduces spin in the long game, which in turn increases distance. The new and improved core also contributes to the fantastic soft feel.

Reformulated thin fusablend cover

In order to improve short-game performance in the new Tour Soft golf balls, Titleist have introduced a reformulated thin fusablend cover. This new cover provides more dependable greenside spin for brilliant short-game control.

If you want to play with the No.1 ball in golf, then look no further than the Titleist Pro V1 . There are three models of the Pro V1 (Pro V1, Pro V1x , and Pro V1 Left Dash) and they all have slightly different properties. The 2024 Tour Soft is available in white, yellow, green, and pink. The balls will be numbered as standard from 1-4. You’ll be able to get your hands on the white, yellow, and green Tour Soft golf balls from January 24 in most parts of the world. However, for those of you in the UK, you’ll have to wait until February 2, with the pink golf balls set for release in July 2024.

Callaway Hex Tour Soft Review 2024 [Honest Opinon]

Searching for the perfect golf ball can take some time and research. As a PGA Professional, I can assure you that the time will be well spent.

Finding the proper golf ball for your game will significantly increase your chances of scoring well and enjoying your time on the golf course. The Callaway golf balls are an excellent choice for a wide range of players.

The Callaway Hex Tour Soft is not a golf ball that is as widely talked about, yet it is one that players should certainly consider adding to their bag.

If you are curious about this golf ball and whether or not it could be a good fit for your game, you are in the right place. Read our Callaway Hex Tour Soft review to find out more.

Features and Benefits 

The Callaway Hex Tour Soft golf ball is a bit different than some of the other Callaway balls on the market. Of course, we know that with a name like Hex, the traditional Callaway dimple aerodynamics are in place.

The Callaway Hex Tour Soft is not the newest release from Callaway; however, this could work out to be a good thing for those golfers on a budget.

Let’s take a more detailed look at some of the features that the Callaway Hex Tour Soft has in place. 

Feel in a golf ball is an extremely important benefit. In my years playing professionally, I would take a golf ball that has a better feel over one that had more distance.

A player needs to have control over their golf ball. Choosing a ball with a great feel allows for this to happen. 

Since the Hext Tour Soft Golf Ball is a three-piece ball with a responsive Surlyn cover , we found that it had an excellent feel .

If you want to control the ball flight or the distance in your short game, you should be able to with the Hex Tour Soft Golf Ball in place. 

Remember that this is not truly a premium tour level Callaway golf ball. If you need tour level performance around a green look for something like the Chrome soft. 

Overall the Hex Tour Soft Golf Ball is a low spin ball . From the tee, this will prove to be a significant benefit. Around the green, however, there is still enough spin for players to get some spin and control. 

Remember that the Hex Tour Soft Golf ball is a 3 piece ball. This allows for a high energy core, in addition to having receptiveness and spin when the wedges are used.

If you are worried about your ability to stop your short irons on a green, this Hex Tour Soft golf ball could do the trick. 

Compression

The Callaway Hex Tour Soft golf ball is a low compression ball . If your swing speed is average or even a bit less than average, this will be a good golf ball for you.

Golfers need to remember that although lower compression is considered to be a positive, it is not a good fit for all players. 

Golfers need to understand that the compression rating of a ball needs to be closely matched to a golfer’s swing speed. The more speed you have, the higher compression that you need.

We look at the lower compression of the Hex Tour Soft as a positive. A player that struggles to get distance will see improvements with the Hex Tour Soft. 

The Hex Tour Soft golf balls are a distance ball with good greenside spin and feel. However, if you consider the category or the main strength of this ball, it is still distance.

Most golfers are looking to add some extra yards to their game. Therefore a few distance-enhancing technologies are included with this ball. 

For starters, the HEX aerodynamics will lead to a lower spin from the tee. The low spin produces greater roll and longer drives. The HEX pattern essentially allows for a ball to move through the air with quite a bit less drag.

All golf balls will face some kind of resistance as the ball travels. Callaway believes that the Hex aerodynamics allow for the least resistance. We can’t say we disagree. 

This is also a three-piece golf ball, which allows for some enhanced distance technology internally. Anytime you can add an extra layer of performance, you will see the golf ball fly a bit further. 

Golf balls built for mid handicappers and high handicappers need to be durable. Durability allows for a golf ball cover to stay in great shape, regardless of the way it was hit. If a ball is hit into a bunker or along some rough dirt, you will not want it to scratch. 

Golf ball covers are made with different materials. The golf ball manufacturer needs to find a balance between the spin and feel the cover offers, with the durability. The Surlyn cover on the Hex Tour Soft Golf ball is known for its durability. 

Surlyn is a tough material on the outside of the ball; however, it still allows this to be a lower compression golf ball. 

The Callaway Hex Tour soft is not the newest release from Callaway. Typically when a golf ball has been on the market for a bit, the price will start to drop. The interesting thing about the way the Callaway Hex Tour are sold, is that they come in a 24 pack. 

When you first look at the pricing of this golf ball you may think that it is quite expensive. However, once you consider that you are getting 24 golf balls for the price of 12, the situation improves significantly. 

Another thing to remember about price is that sometimes durability will come into play as well. A golf ball that is built with a Surlyn cover like this should be safe to use for more than one round. 

The Surlyn cover will hold up against scratches or marks from a bad shot or a ball that bounces along a cart path. We always try to get two or three rounds out of each golf ball that we use.

The more you can achieve this; the lower your overall golf ball expenses will be. Take advantage of this being a 48 ball pack and use it for a few months of golf.

Alternatives

You can probably see from our Callaway Hex Tour Soft review and ratings that this ball is one that is worth considering. If you have something against this ball or Callaway in general, here are a few alternatives with similar performance.

Remember, no two golf balls are going to perform precisely the same, but these will have very similar overall benefits. 

Bridgestone e12 Soft

The Bridgestone e12 golf ball is a three-piece ball that is again made with a Surlyn cover. You will find quite a few similarities between the e12 soft and the Callaway Hex Tour Soft golf ball.

The major difference between these two is going to be the dimple pattern and the core. 

The Bridgestone golf balls feature the delta dimple pattern . This is a pattern created by Delta to make the ball have less drag and smoother airflow around it. If there were ever a company to know about getting something to move through the air faster, Delta would be it. 

In addition, the Active Acceleration Mantle helps to make sure that the ball has a very high initial velocity. You may notice your ball speeds on this one going a bit higher than that with the Callaway Hex Tour Soft.

Titleist Velocity Golf Balls

Titleist golf balls are often known as being some of the highest performing on the market. The Titleist Velocity ball is known for long distance and a mid compression cor e.

Just like the Callaway HEX Tour Soft, the construction of the Titleist golf ball includes a Surlyn cover. 

Even though the Velocity is a two-piece ball, it is still considered to be high quality. Titleist knows how to make sure a golf ball has technology both around the green and off the tee as well.

This would be a golf ball to choose from if you are looking for a bit more distance but not quite as soft a feel. 

This is the longest ball in the Titleist golf ball lineup, and it also has one of the lower compressions. If you want straighter shots and higher performance from the tee, choose the Velocity. 

TaylorMade Noodle Neon Matte

The TaylorMade Noodle Neon Matte is another long-distance golf ball with a soft feel and great control around the green. One of the things that set this golf ball apart is that it comes in quite a few colors. 

As you may remember, the Callaway HEX Tour soft only comes in a white soft cover design. The Noodle ball is made to have higher ball flight , low spin , and a nice feel on the green .

These balls are made to be lower priced but still have a similar feel to tour golf balls. The cover on the Noodle is a bit different than the HEX Tour Soft golf balls.

The cover is made with an Iothane material . This will provide low drag and plenty of versatility as well. Since the paint on the Noodle ball is matte technology, there is no glare, and it is easy to see. 

If you have not tried the Callaway Hex Tour Soft golf ball, now is the time to do it. This 3 piece construction ball will help golfers of all handicaps get the performance that they need.

Whether you seek a long-distance ball or something with a better feel around the green, the Hex Tour Soft could do the trick.

The Titleist Tour Soft has always been an excellent all-rounder that offers soft feel at a lower price point. Our testing of the 2020 version has shown that it is a little bit faster off the tee than its predecessor, possibly because of the larger core and thinner cover, translating into extra carry distance. Admittedly it was by less than a handful of yards, but nevertheless there are gains to be had by switching.

Strike a shot out of the middle with Tour Soft and you are rewarded with a strong, stable flight with impressive hang time, even in windy conditions.

Despite still not possessing a urethane cover, we felt like it also gave us a little more touch more control around the greens with the wedges too while maintaining that soft feel many golfers enjoy. It doesn’t grab as much as the Pro V1 or Pro V1x , but the gap between them in terms of short game performance looks to have narrowed somewhat.

We also really like the new sidestamp design, with the T-shape provide an effective visual to line up your putter’s sightline and clubface to help return it square at impact more consistently.

We found it to be especially effective on those nervy putts from 3-6 feet but also off the tee as well. It’s ideal if you struggle to commit to your start line or struggle with your aim with the driver. The brighter finish versus the Pro V1 models makes the Tour Soft stand out visually over the ball, helping with strike and confidence.

I am obviously referring to Titleist's Tour Soft Golf Ball, that will definitely make the golf world take notice. To begin with, this baby is aimed at replacing two sacred monsters: the Titleist NXT Tour/Tour S, which makes it clear that the company really did something special with their latest Tour Soft golf ball. Needless to say, the Titleist Tour Soft makes for a cool combo of cutting edge technology and performance, putting together the largest core ever put into a Titleist golf ball (1,6 inches in diameter) with the company's state of the art and ultra thin cover technology.

The end result is a golf ball that is incredibly fast for distance and gives excellent feedback and a responsive feel for great short-game performance. According to the company, the Titleist Tour Soft is the softest golf ball in its category and it's better and longer compared to the Bridgestone Tour B330-RXS or the Chrome Soft/TP5. The Tour Soft's cover is built using a composite material, a blend of four different materials actually, and it's almost as thin as urethane covered balls. The end result is a golf ball that feels significantly softer compared to the NXT balls, yet it still delivers in terms of distance and short game control. The new Tour Soft retails for $34.99 a dozen and it's available in white and yellow.

Titleist Announces Revamped Tour Soft Golf Ball

Titleist is one of the biggest names in the golf industry and the good news for our readers is that 2020 will see a new and revamped edition of the company's already legendary Tour Soft golf ball. Even if the first-gen Tour Soft was introduced a couple of years ago, back in 2018, and it replaced the aging NXT range, it quickly became a favorite among golf aficionados due to its lower price and high-performance features. Basically, the Tour Soft was designed to fill the gap between the iconic Pro V1, the premium/high end golf ball in Titleist's offer, and the low spinning and cheaper Velocity golf ball.

The updated Tour Soft 2020 is crafted with two main things in mind: first, to deliver better short-game performance, and also to provide increased distance, and that's pretty nice in our book, considering the fact that the new Tour Soft also comes with an interesting alignment stamp, which is inspired from the company's TrueFeel golf ball. Here's the President of Golf Ball Marketing at Titleist Michael Mahoney telling us the inside info about the new Tour Soft:

Golfers wanting to play a softer-feeling ball shouldn't have to sacrifice yards off the tee or control into the green. We know they have real golf to play and their ball has to be much more than just soft. The new generation of Tour Soft continues to show what's possible in a lower compression design. Our engineers have developed a longer, all-round better performing golf ball that maintains the soft and responsive feel that golfers love about this product.

The first True Soft was pretty special in regard to its core, as it had the largest core ever made by Titleist; the second-gen is taking this “big core” concept even further, i.e. the core in the new True Soft golf ball is even bigger compared to the first generation, and according to the company, the bigger core promotes amazing ball speeds, thus making the True Soft the longest and fastest ball in its category on the market. In order to create a larger core, Titleist was forced by the laws of physics to make the already thin 4CE grafted cover system even thinner, so the ball could keep its high spin rates around the green. Another issue that was taken care of in the second-gen Tour Soft is that famous penetrating ball flight we all know and love in our distance golf balls, hence the Tour Soft next-gen comes with a redesigned and totally new 342 cuboctahedron dimple pattern which promotes the aforementioned characteristic.

Moreover, this baby comes with a redesigned side stamp and it's available in high optic yellow and classic white. It's worth mentioning that the redesigned side stamp also serves as an alignment aid, provided you require such a gimmick on your golf ball, as the stamps looks like the letter T, i.e. it helps golfers to line the ball easier with both their club face and the target, so you won't have to draw mark lines on your golf ball. 'That is how you turn 60': Maynard James Keenan, Primus and Puscifer go hard in Phoenix

Maynard James Keenan was nearing the end of a freewheeling stop on his 60th birthday tour, Sessanta , basking in the afterglow of “Southbound Pachyderm” as performed by a sprawling collective of extremely talented musicians from A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus, when he told the crowd, “And that, mother (expletives), is how you turn 60.”

He was technically still 59 at that point. He turns 60 on Wednesday, April 17, when he returns to that same stage with those same friends at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, just down the hill from his home in Jerome, Arizona .

But it’s doubtful many people have embraced the thought of turning 60 with a more inspired blend of self-effacing humor, undeniable vitality and unabashed artistry than Keenan.

The night was every bit as untraditional as promised, played out on a two-tiered stage with sofas and three drum kits on the upper level and a chairlift to transport musicians from one level to another, not because they’re too old to climb the stairs but because it added to the entertainment value of the night.

And that goes double for the people playing ping-pong during “Bullet Train to Iowa” and Keenan and Carina Round of Puscifer squeezing a game of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots into Puscifer’s “The Remedy,” which features some of Keenan’s greatest lyrics (“Yes, we’re being condescending/ Yes, that means we’re talking down to you”).

The premise of this tour is that the members of A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primus will not only share a stage but share musicians as the night unfolds, resulting in some truly awe-inspiring feats of musical cross-pollination.

Having multiple drummers definitely added layers of intensity to the proceedings. You never knew when Les Claypool of Primus would show up in another goofy mask to join one of the other bands on bass. And Keenan gamely guested on lead vocals on Primus’ “Tommy the Cat.”

It felt like crashing a really cool party at a rock star’s house and watching the musicians let their hair down, except for one thing. You could tell they put some thought and effort into making sure it sounded right.

It was all about musicianship and friendship and the magic of collaboration.

The concert began with a video of Keenan in a Spam commercial driving home the zero-camera policy by warning fans that if you chose to disobey this policy, you would be asked to leave, at which point you would find yourself fed through an oversized meat grinder outside the concert, thereby becoming the secret ingredient that makes Spam such a culinary favorite of “cannibalistic cultures.”

As threats go, it was pretty entertaining.

Each band took a turn in the spotlight, starting with A Perfect Circle, who followed Keenan’s PSA with a haunting rendition of “The Package.”

At the song’s conclusion, Keenan took a moment welcome the crowd to his birthday show with “Let’s confirm what we already know… Arizona.”

The audience cheered, but not enough to satisfy him.

“Sounds like California,” he scoffed, an insult met with boos. “Let’s fix it. Arizona!"

That did the trick. Then, Keenan took a moment to address the local news.

“OK, so I’ve been out of town for about three weeks, out of state,” he said. “ Anything change that I should know about ? I dunno, like 1864 ? Jesus (expletive) Christ, people. Here’s my short speech, then I’ll (expletive) off. Register to (expletive) vote, please.”

Then it was back to the music with “Disillusioned.”

Each band did a three- to four-song set before rotating through the lineup two more times while changing up the order.

After bringing it all to a head with “Southbound Pachyderm” and telling the crowd this is how you turn 60, Keenan said, “I have been blessed with the privilege of working with some of the best musicians on the (expletive) planet… For my birthday, I got three new songs.”

And with that, the three bands dusted off the three songs featured on “Sessanta E.P.P.P”: A Perfect Circle’s “Kindred,” Puscifer’s “No Angel” and the Primus song “Pablo’s Hippies.”

As the Primus song ended, Keenan joked, “Holy (expletive), you’re still here?”

Then, he brought the concert to a suitably majestic close with Puscifer’s “Grand Canyon,” singing “Witnessing the majesty.”

He’s referring, of course, to the majesty of the Grand Canyon. But it certainly applied to what we’d all just witnessed in the course of that performance.

Sessanta returns to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre on Keenan’s birthday — Wednesday, April 17.

Was happy to find out they opened! Went yesterday after my procedure I was anticipating great food. I ordered the Teriyaki Burger and garlic fries which I found to be so tasty I definitely will order that again!! My husband wanted to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup, I had to taste the soup too, wow so flavorful. I can see us going back time and time again, the staff was very friendly and helpful what an amazing dining experience .

We went to Planted for lunch today in Kakaako, just opened last week... I had the Mushroom Dip Sandwich and she had the Burger, both were good. The service was very friendly and fast, we each got a complementary Canele' as well, Mochi and Black Sesame, which was cool. It is a small place, a couple tables if you wanted to eat there, but we did take out. I would recommend if you are looking for some tasty meatless lunch in Ward Village!

Soft opening now (the store is clean and nice): I got teriyaki smash burger and croissants. You can't believe the smash burger is vegan: tasty with lettuce, onions, tomato, and cheese. This made me full yet not greasy, so great! One thing you need to know is a waiting time: needed to wait for 10 minutes but just give them Aloha. A male employee was friendly. They gave me a mochi canele for tasting (limited time?). I chose matcha and it was good (enjoyed while waiting). The following morning, I had their croissant: it's not flaky, so it doesn't mess the dining room and it was good with fruit jam. I will sure to go back and try other menus.

Super yummy smash burgers. Love having this vegan option in Kakaako. Staff was really friendly and despite it being a soft opening, service was really efficient and food came quickly. Can't wait to go back and try more.

First of all parking is at the Ward parking garage across Whole Foods. At least that's where i parked. I tried several items, tamago toast, teri burger, garlic fries, grill cheese, mushroom dip, iced coffee, and got complimentary dessert mochi bites. Tamago toast taste just like an egg salad sandwich! Good use of the black salt! Teri burger small kine salty, wish had more greens in the burger itself cause the patty was pretty big and the sauce was a bit too salty to me. But yes, I'd mop that burger again. Grill cheese or should I say soggy cheese could've had more effort put into it since they were out of the regular bread and i chose poi sourdough instead. Fries at regular La Tours are usually crispy and flavorful, the ones i got here were soggy and taste wasn't as garlicky- are these vegan which is why they were soggy? Ice coffee good, and they have the good ice that's great for munching! The mochi bites was so good cause had so many edges. I wonder if those were vegan too tho . I'll be back to try the artichoke sando and maybe something else.

Other than the soft landing of Harbour Town Golf Links, the site of the annual destination post-Masters, there’s another promise for the field of 69 at this week’s RBC Heritage – no cut.

It’s the fifth of eight Signature Events this season. Of the commits, 54 competed at the first major last week, so they’ll leave some of that sweat in the rearview mirror.

No time for the proverbial hangover after the Masters this time around as there are four rounds to be played on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. In addition to the usual spoils, the field is chasing 700 FedExCup points and $3.6 million for victory.

Although Harbour Town trails the Masters in the migration, it’s fair to wonder how fitting it’d be as a tune-up in advance of the major. Augusta National Golf Club requires the full bag and skill set with its unique combination of other prerequisites to be considered a force pre-tournament, but a primary objective there is to be properly positioned on approach. This is not dissimilar to the strategy to find the best angles at Harbour Town.

The par 71 in the Lowcountry stretches to a modest 7,213 yards, but because of routing, overhanging trees and some of the smallest greens on the PGA TOUR (at just 3,700 square feet on average), drivers will be holstered often. There are ball-strikers’ paradises, and then there’s a shot-maker’s track like this one.

Fields have understood that downshifting is required. Harbour Town annually ranks among the shortest in distance off the tee, while also typically among the easiest in splitting fairways. With targets yielding an average of about 11 greens in regulation per round, the small ball plays up. The only rough is just 1¼ inches high this year.

To that end, it’s a good week to be a bad putter on the overseeded Bermudagrass greens prepped to touch a familiar 12½ feet on the Stimpmeter. Tee-to-green tacticians always have an edge with small greens, and there’s a reason why Harbour Town led all courses in each of the last two seasons in total hole-outs. With a field about half the size from last year, it won’t be in the aggregate this week, but its conversion percentage from off the green will align with history.

Favorable conditions are expected until a risk of rain enters the equation on the weekend. Daytime highs right around 80 degrees will be accompanied by southeasterly winds off the Atlantic Ocean. They could kick up late Thursday and linger into Friday, but they shouldn’t be as challenging as what was faced by those who competed in the Masters.

The energy picked up considerably for the second half of the set: When the band switched gears into the 1999 favorite “Coffee & TV,” sung by guitarist Graham Coxon, the concert had a rush that carried through to the end. The screams at the first notes of “Parklife” were deafening; Albarn restarted the song, bringing a fan onstage for Phil Daniels’ spoken-word part of the song. (By some accounts, this same fan was charged with that responsibility at Blur’s 2015 Madison Square Garden show — whether or not that’s true, she nailed it.) With the energy at a peak, Albarn went into the crowd for “Girls and Boys,” which led to pogoing (where possible) for “Advert.”

Back onstage, Albarn sat down to recount a rambling anecdote about one of the lawsuits against the band’s biggest hit, 1997’s “Song 2,” concluding by saying, “It’s the only song anyone cares about.” Then he said, “I know a lot of you are quite elderly but let’s jump!” and the band tore into the song. After that surge, the group slowed down with a moving version of “This is a Low,” closing out the main set.

The emotional tone continued when the encore began with “Sing,” which soundtracks some of the most desperate scenes in the film “ Trainspotting .” The semi-rehearsal nature of the gig continued as the group went into “Fool’s Day,” which they’d never played onstage before — they stopped and restarted it, working out the kinks in real time.

The encore moved into its final segment when the singers joined the group for the choral singalongs on “Tender,” and the band closed out the night with a one-two punch of “The Narcissist” and their 1995 hit “The Universal.”

Blur’s performance at Coachella this weekend comes with a certain amount of irony: Despite a couple of big alternative radio hits with “Song 2” and “Girls and Boys,” they never quite cracked America in the 1990s — and yet there they are, nearly 30 years later, near the top of the bill at the country’s biggest music festival.
