Thirunavaya has great religious importance. It is is a converging place of the Trimurtis, - (Brahma, Vishnu, Siva). Three temples, are on either bank of Bharathapuzha.

The famous vedic Vidyalaya Othanmar Madhom of ancient times, is on of the left bank of Bharathapuzha, near the Siva temple. This madhom was a center of aryanisation through Sanskrit and Vedic education as Thirunavaya as believed to be the main center, where Parasurama brought and settled Brahmins.

The place (Mana) of Puranic fame Azhvanchery Thamprakkal is 2 Kms north of Tirunnavya. Nava mukunda Temple beloved to be constructed by Nava yogis on the right bank of Bharathapuzha, is an important Vishnu temple of Kerala. The rituals Pithru Tharpanam and Bali karmam are performed here.

The British hoisted their flag on this hilltop during a survey and hence the place got its name. Located 10 km from Perinthalmanna town, Kodikuthimala is the highest point in the Amminikandan range of hills. Apart from the ever-flowing springs and waterfalls, a watchtower and a suicide point are the main attractions at the hill station. Trekking to the hilltop is a little bit challenging for us due to the topography of the hilly terrain. The best time to visit is between September and May as the weather is pleasant here.  As we reach the top, we are likely to experience different phases of Nature. Kozhippara waterfalls

This is an enchanting scenic spot in the high ranges of Malappuram. Located near Kozhippara, the place is covered by mist all through the day. The waterfall is located on the Chokkad stream. Kozhippara waterfalls is an ideal location for trekking and swimming in Kerala. 1 dead, 18 injured after tourist bus overturns in Kozhikode

The bus which met with an accident | Mathrubhumi

Kozhikode: A Karnataka native died after a tourist bus overturned in Feroke on Saturday.

Meanwhile, 18 passengers suffered injuries, with two in critical condition. Those injured are admitted to the medical college here.

The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. at Mannur Valav. The bus, named Kohinoor, was heading to Ooty from Thiruvananthapuram.

Scorching summer in Kerala: Heatwave alert for 3 districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has sounded a heatwave alert for Kollam, Thrissur, and Palakkad districts. Places within these districts are expected to experience heatwave conditions on April 27 and 28, with temperatures reaching up to 41 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and up to 40 degrees Celsius in Kollam and Thrissur.

This alert is based on the extremely high temperatures recorded recently, and the upcoming days are expected to be even hotter.

The Met Department has issued a yellow alert (high-temperature warning) in 12 districts - Palakkad (up to 41°C), Kollam (40°C), Thrissur (40°C), Kozhikode (38°C), Kannur (38°C), Alappuzha (37°C), Kottayam (37°C), Ernakulam (37°C), Malappuram (37°C), Kasaragod (37°C), Pathanamthitta (37°C), and Thiruvananthapuram (36°C). In these districts, temperatures are expected to be 3-5°C above normal levels. This alert is effective from April 27 to May 1.

Heatwave to scorch six Kerala districts; Temperature could rise up to 40 degree Celsius

People should maintain extreme caution during such situations, authorities said. There are chances of people suffering sunburn and heatstroke, the statement said, adding that heatstroke can also lead to death.

Authorities also advised people to take umbrellas while going out and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration. Among many directives, the IMD urged people to avoid going out during the daytime as much as possible and postpone all public events to evening.
