Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are experiencing an extremely high volume of enquires which is overloading our telephone lines and other contact channels. For latest updates and travel advisories concerning flights and destinations affected by the virus outbreak, please check Foreign and Commonwealth Office at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice . As the number of cases changes constantly, airlines are reviewing their policies regularly. In case your travel date is not in the next week, we advise you to wait before contacting our Customer Care team to ensure we have the latest policy information for your travel. Please note NOT all airlines have issued cancellations/change waiver fees due to the current situation, therefore the normal policy will be applicable, with no exceptions, in case requested. In the meantime you may want to contact your travel insurers in case your policy covers cancellation due to the ongoing situation. Travel Advice: We strongly recommend all travelers MUST check travel restrictions for the country they are travelling to in case of any travel bans. We recommend all our customers to submit their queries to [email protected]" due to an overload on our telephone lines and other contact channels.
Before you travel
- Check the status of your flight on the airline's website to find out if your flight has been delayed or cancelled.
- Check your airport to find out if they have any specific advice for travelers.
- Please allow plenty of time to get to the airport before your flight as there may be additional screening.
- Check your travel insurance policy to see if changes and cancellation due to unforeseen events are covered.
- Add your contact details at the airline ‘’manage my trip’’ section.
- If there are no policies that state to waive change or cancel fees, you will be subject to normal airline policy rules and restrictions, including all penalty fees.
The Future of Travel is Now: World Trip Deal Reveals Its AI-Powered Journey Planning
The Future of Travel is Now: World Trip Deal Reveals Its AI-Powered Journey Planning.
Dubai, UAE - April 19, 2024 —
Travel booking has long been a challenging task for adventurers worldwide. The process of filtering through countless flights, accommodations, and activities can be daunting, compounded by user-unfriendly interfaces and strict budget limits.
However, World Trip Deal (WTD), an innovative online travel agency (OTA), proposes a solution to transform the travel booking experience.
World Trip Deal (WTD), led by CEO Mahdi Nourian, utilizes AI to democratize luxury travel, making it affordable without compromising quality.
The company provides personalized itineraries and unique experiences for budget-conscious travelers, revolutionizing the travel industry.
AI Meets Affordability: World Trip Deal CEO on Democratizing Luxury Travel
This approach not only democratizes luxury travel but also enriches journeys, making exclusive experiences accessible to a broader audience.
Many online travel agencies focus on finding the cheapest deals. How is WTD using AI to create a more personalized and luxurious travel experience? (Focuses on personalization and luxury aspect)
World Trip Deal (WTD) redefines travel booking by using AI to curate personalized, luxurious experiences within a reasonable budget.
Unlike typical agencies focusing on generic options, WTD crafts unique itineraries based on individual preferences and history.
This approach offers exclusive deals and luxury experiences tailored to each traveler, ensuring a distinct and memorable journey without financial strain.
With the rise of AI in travel booking, how is World Trip Deal differentiating itself from the competition? (Focuses on competition and differentiation)
Mahdi Nourian: Look, there's no denying it – AI is taking the travel booking world by storm. Competition is fierce, and everyone's scrambling to integrate this powerful technology.
But here at World Trip Deal (WTD), we're not just following the pack; we're leading the charge. Here's how we differentiate ourselves:
1. Beyond Basic Recommendations: Many travel platforms use AI to suggest popular destinations or amazing hotel options . WTD goes a step further. We leverage AI to create a unique profile for each traveler. Imagine a travel agent who analyzes your past trips, interests, and budget to curate an itinerary that feels like it was designed specifically for you. No more cookie-cutter experiences!
2. Luxury on a Budget: Let's face it, affordability is a major concern for many travelers. However, luxury shouldn't be reserved for the high rollers. WTD's AI technology negotiates exclusive travel deals with travel partners, unlocking hidden gems and securing discounts on luxury hotels and unique experiences.
3. Flexibility for the Adventurous Soul: Travel plans can change, and WTD's AI is built to adapt. Unlike some competitors with rigid AI recommendations, our platform allows travelers to modify their itineraries on the fly .
4. A Seamless User Experience: AI shouldn't feel like a black box. WTD's user-friendly platform integrates seamlessly with our AI engine.
Travelers can search, compare, and book flights, accommodations, and activities all within a single platform.
No more juggling multiple websites and struggling with complex interfaces. We believe travel planning should be enjoyable, not a chore.
5. Future-Proofing Travel Booking: AI is constantly evolving, and at WTD, we're committed to staying at the forefront of this technology.
So, sure, the travel booking landscape is brimming with AI, but at WTD, we offer a distinctly personalized and budget-conscious approach to luxury travel . We're not just suggesting destinations; we're crafting unforgettable adventures tailored to your unique desires.
What role do you see AI playing in the future of travel booking, and how is World Trip Deal preparing for it? (Focuses on future trends and WTD's position)
World Trip Deal (WTD) leverages AI to shape the future of travel booking, promising a dynamic, personalized experience.
Envision AI tailoring itineraries based on real-time factors like weather or mood, simplifying processes such as airport check-ins, and offering real-time translation.
WTD invests in continuous AI advancement, ensuring a seamless, intuitive user experience, and revolutionizing travel from planning to discovery.
● Transparency with AI: "How transparent is World Trip Deal with travellers regarding how AI is used in the booking process? Do they have any control over the AI recommendations?"
Mahdi Nourian emphasizes transparency at World Trip Deal (WTD), clearly outlining AI’s role in the booking process:
1. Clear Communication: WTD provides easy-to-understand explanations where AI impacts recommendations.
2. AI Preferences: Travelers can tailor their AI interactions by setting preferences for travel style, interests, and pace.
3. Curated Transparency: Instead of complex technical details, WTD highlights when recommendations are AI-driven, based on travel trends and user behaviors.
4. Control Through Customization: The platform allows extensive customization, enabling travelers to refine searches and adjust itineraries.
5. Human Expertise: AI is enhanced by human experts who provide insights to balance and personalize the travel experience.
WTD’s approach ensures that travelers understand and control AI’s input, enhancing their booking experience while keeping personal choice paramount.
Future of Travel and WTD:
● AI and Sustainability: "Is there a role for AI in promoting sustainable travel practices within World Trip Deal's platform?"
Mahdi Nourian: at World Trip Deal we emphasize AI’s role in sustainable travel with eco-friendly suggestions and carbon offset options. WTD prioritizes user experience, innovates continuously, and ensures data transparency.
This approach not only enhances travel but also promotes responsible tourism and builds user trust in AI integration.
Finally, let's explore the broader impact of AI on the travel industry.
Transforming Travel:
● Hyper-Personalization: AI will personalize travel experiences beyond imagination. Imagine itineraries tailored not just to destinations but to your mood, preferences, and even real-time data. AI will transform travel from a one-size-fits-all experience to a truly personal journey.
● Streamlined Booking & Management: Travel booking will become effortless. Imagine AI automating tedious tasks like visa applications, travel insurance, and even managing itinerary changes with ease.
● Accessibility & Inclusivity: AI can break down language barriers and assist travelers with disabilities. Imagine real-time translation tools and AI-powered accessibility recommendations, making travel a more inclusive experience for everyone.
However, AI also comes with challenges:
● Ethical Considerations: Transparency and data privacy are crucial. AI algorithms need to be free from bias and ensure responsible data usage.
● Human Interaction: Travel advisors still have a vital role. AI shouldn't replace the human touch. We envision a future where AI complements human expertise, offering a dynamic and personalized travel experience.
So, there you have it. World Trip Deal (WTD) is shaking things up in the travel industry with a potent blend of AI and affordability.
From personalized itineraries to hidden gem recommendations, WTD is making luxury travel accessible for the budget-conscious adventurer.
But WTD's vision extends beyond booking. They're looking to leverage AI throughout your entire journey, offering real-time recommendations, fostering a travel community, and even promoting sustainable practices.
As AI continues to reshape the travel landscape, WTD is poised to be a leader in this exciting transformation.
So, the next time you're dreaming of an escape, ditch the outdated guidebooks and endless price comparisons.
Head over to World Trip Deal and let AI craft the perfect adventure for you. After all, travel should be an unforgettable experience, not a logistical nightmare. And with WTD, it can be just that.

Do you want to cut down on your trip time by taking continuous flights with no stops in between? If so, you've come to the correct place! Traveljunction has some great flight offers on direct flights to a variety of cities across the world. Our flight discounts will not only cut your journey time in half but will also fit into your budget. So, what are you holding out for? Browse our website and book airline tickets to your preferred destination. If you're having trouble reserving or have any questions about booking direct flights, don't worry! Our travel consultants are fantastic at responding to your questions. For more information about nonstop flights within your budget, contact them.
Flexibility in choosing your location and travel dates should also be a major priority when shopping for cheap nonstop flights. It's also easier to find a low-cost flight if you choose a region that's popular for business travel. Cities such as Washington, DC, and New York City, for example, are well-known for business travel and provide a variety of tourist attractions. After you've decided on your destination, you'll need to schedule your trip. Look up the destination's off-season and avoid travelling during the summer or big holidays while planning your trip. If you follow all of these suggestions, you'll be able to get cheap nonstop flights.
What does it mean to fly nonstop?
A nonstop flight travels directly from one airport to another without making any stops.
What is the dissimilarity between a direct flight and a nonstop flight?
Between the origin and destination airports, a nonstop aircraft does not stop. A direct flight, on the other hand, stops at a halfway airport, where some passengers remain seated while others disembark and board the plane.
What makes nonstop flights less expensive?
Customers who want to fly without stopping can benefit from nonstop flight deals. Another significant advantage of nonstop plane tickets is that they save a significant amount of time.

Finally an online agent which doesn't increase the fare when you try to pay I was pleasantly surprised when we used Travel Junction to book our trip to Asia. After initially trying to book with Go To Gate and a few others - everytime we put our credit card details in a pressed SUBMIT we got a message to say the fare had increased by several hundred pounds. We had no such experience with this company - what we saw in the search results is exactly what we paid. Thanks to Sam Miller for following up via the phone to confirm all our arrangements. We would use this company again.

Low cost and well appreciated
aggressive and over-priced scam
We just tried to book a flight through TravelJunction. They did not book the flight, called over and over and tried to charge us more than the price agreed. They said we could not cancel (which I know to be false), and their attitude was very aggressive. We ended-up blocking our credit card and booked directly with the airline (still for less than they were trying to charge). Even after saying we would not book with them they said they already booked our card and called and emailed (like 10x!).
Dear Passenger We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. This is not the kind of service we intend to deliver. We give you assurance that our customers are top priority and we strive to deliver on the best services within our capabilities. However, your feedback has been assigned to our dedicated customer service team and they will try to mitigate your experience. Thanks and Regards, Customer Relations Team

7 of the best all-inclusive experiences to book this year, from a travel planner
- As a travel planner, my clients seem to be increasingly interested in all-inclusive trips .
- Some of my favorite luxury resorts are in Costa Rica, the Maldives, and Isla Mujeres.
- Cruises, group tours, and adults-only lodgings can also come with all-inclusive options.
As a travel planner at Marvelous Mouse Travels , I know vacations are expensive — especially if you're looking to go somewhere this summer . But all-inclusive travel is often a great way to get the most value out of a luxury experience.
I've been on several all-inclusive vacations with my family, friends, and work, and I've helped other people book them in destinations around the world .
Here are some of the best all-inclusive experiences I'm recommending to my clients this year.
Try a split-stay vacation to see the best of Costa Rica.
Costa Rica is one of the most sought-after vacations , and for good reason. It's great for both relaxation and adventure.
I recommend booking a split stay, starting at an all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste near the beach for some fun in the sun and moving to a resort near the famous Arenal Volcano for a jungle adventure.
Some of my favorite resorts in Costa Rica are the Westin Reserva Conchal and the Dreams Las Mareas. And if you're looking for an even more unique experience, check out the glorious swim-out suites with private pools at Dreams.
Baglioni Maldives is one of my favorite all-inclusive resorts.
The Maldives, a remote set of islands in the Indian Ocean, offers a plethora of resort options for couples and families, but Baglioni Maldives is my favorite.
For many in the US, getting to the islands can be daunting — there are very few direct commercial flights, and it can take almost an entire day. But it's hard to beat the country's luxury accommodations and gorgeous landscape.
The Maldives also has some of the most beautiful marine life and coveted spots for snorkeling and scuba diving.
No matter where you go, overwater bungalows are the ultimate all-inclusive splurge.
Overwater bungalows — villas standing on poles over open ocean water — are prevalent at all-inclusive resorts in destinations like the Maldives, Fiji, and Bali.
But I've also come across the luxurious accommodations at select adults-only Sandals Resorts throughout the Caribbean.
I think having a private villa on the water is the perfect way to unwind and relax.
Adults-only vacations are on the rise.
Traveling with kids can be a blast, but I also think it's important for adults to take a much-needed break on their own.
Adults-only resorts have been a total respite for me and my husband after hectic months of juggling work with our kids' school and sports schedules.
If you're looking to unwind with a partner, relax on a girls' trip, or even connect with your adult children, there are countless adults-only, all-inclusive resorts to choose from, depending on where you're looking to visit.
Some properties, including Sandals and Beaches Resorts, also offer butler service. Designated staff members can help with anything from room requests and dining reservations to cabana rentals and transportation coordination.
I upgraded to the service at my favorite adults-only spot, Le Blanc Los Cabos, and I felt totally pampered.
Isla Mujeres is pure luxury.
Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancún, is known for its crystal-clear, turquoise water and peaceful vibe. It's also home to Playa Norte, one of the best beaches in Mexico .
Impressions Isla Mujeres by Secrets is a gorgeous all-inclusive resort on the island. It offers luxury at its finest, but with only 125 rooms, it has a boutique feel.
One of my favorite features of the resort is the waterslide that leads right into the beautiful ocean.
There are plenty of all-inclusive packages at sea.
Cruising is one of the most popular vacations , whether it's an epic adventure on a Royal Caribbean Cruise, a couples-only journey on Virgin Voyages, or a regal tour of Europe on Viking River Cruises.
Although cruises aren't traditionally considered all-inclusive, with the right booking, they can have the same feel as a luxury resort.
Most cruise bookings include food, nonalcoholic drinks, and live entertainment. If you add beverage packages and excursions in advance, your trip should be fully paid for before you depart.
Book a small-group or private tour if you're looking for adventure.
Group travel is a great way to explore new places while soaking up culture and history.
Popular destinations include Italy, Japan, Costa Rica, and Alaska, and many travel companies take care of everything for you, essentially making it all-inclusive.
I like Adventures by Disney , which offers small-group travel all over the world facilitated by seasoned guides. All the trip details are taken care of, including experiences, food, lodging, and transportation.
Additionally, Kensington Tours offers luxury private travel where every facet of the trip is meticulously planned for you.

Meta working on travel mode for using Quest headsets during flights after Vision Pro launches with feature
Today I learned two things. First, apparently Meta Quest headsets don’t work on planes? I guess Apple knew to prioritize that feature for Vision Pro. And second, support is reportedly on the way. Add this to the list of ways competition from Vision Pro is making Meta Quest 3 a better product.
For April, Meta released software update v64 that makes Quest 3 passthrough more like Vision Pro, users say. Motion blur is more noticeable, but still clarity is increased. Meta has also added support for viewing spatial videos captured from iPhone 15 Pro.
Now Meta may be planning to introduce flight support as soon as v65 next month. Per @Lunayian on X ( via Nicholas Sutrich ), several code strings reference travel mode for use on a plane.
Early NUX render to introduce "Flight Mode" I found in Meta Quest OS v65 pic.twitter.com/oq2GzCiaZu — Luna (@Lunayian) April 18, 2024
Apple pushes watching movies and TV shows during flights as a key use case for Apple Vision Pro. It’s one of the first things you see at the top of Apple’s website currently.
Surely Meta has taken notice and prioritized travel mode as it positions Meta Quest 3 as a dramatically cheaper solution to Vision Pro with many of the same capabilities.
The most impactful change, however, would be around multitasking. Quest headsets are limited to three app windows at a time right now. Apple Vision Pro has plenty of other limitations, but there’s virtually no limit to how many windows can be placed around a room and used together.
- Zuckerberg says Meta Quest 3 is better than Apple Vision Pro
- Apple Vision Pro is already making the Meta Quest 3 better
- Vision Pro latency by far the best on passthrough; lags behind Meta on angular motion
- Meta confirms spatial video playback coming to Quest one day before Vision Pro launch

FAA lifts temporary ground stop of Alaska Airlines flights after technical issue is resolved
The Federal Aviation Administration lifted a ground stop for all Alaska Airlines flights Wednesday after grounding the planes earlier as a result of a computer problem at the carrier.
The Seattle-based airline said in a statement that an issue arose “while performing an upgrade to the system that calculates our weight and balance.”
The FAA initially approved a ground stop for all Alaska and Horizon flights starting at approximately 10:50 a.m. ET.
It was lifted just before 11:45 a.m. ET.
It wasn't immediately clear how many flights were affected. An Alaska spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow: The Best of Moscow!
I just got back from one week in Moscow. And, as you might have already guessed, it was a mind-boggling experience. It was not my first trip to the Russian capital. But I hardly ever got enough time to explore this sprawling city. Visiting places for business rarely leaves enough time for sightseeing. I think that if you’ve got one week in Russia, you can also consider splitting your time between its largest cities (i.e. Saint Petersburg ) to get the most out of your trip. Seven days will let you see the majority of the main sights and go beyond just scratching the surface. In this post, I’m going to share with you my idea of the perfect travel itinerary for one week in Moscow.
Moscow is perhaps both the business and cultural hub of Russia. There is a lot more to see here than just the Kremlin and Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Centuries-old churches with onion-shaped domes dotted around the city are in stark contrast with newly completed impressive skyscrapers of Moscow City dominating the skyline. I spent a lot of time thinking about my Moscow itinerary before I left. And this city lived up to all of my expectations.
Travel Itinerary For One Week in Moscow
Day 1 – red square and the kremlin.
Metro Station: Okhotny Ryad on Red Line.
No trip to Moscow would be complete without seeing its main attraction. The Red Square is just a stone’s throw away from several metro stations. It is home to some of the most impressive architectural masterpieces in the city. The first thing you’ll probably notice after entering it and passing vendors selling weird fur hats is the fairytale-like looking Saint Basil’s Cathedral. It was built to commemorate one of the major victories of Ivan the Terrible. I once spent 20 minutes gazing at it, trying to find the perfect angle to snap it. It was easier said than done because of the hordes of locals and tourists.
As you continue strolling around Red Square, there’s no way you can miss Gum. It was widely known as the main department store during the Soviet Era. Now this large (yet historic) shopping mall is filled with expensive boutiques, pricey eateries, etc. During my trip to Moscow, I was on a tight budget. So I only took a retro-style stroll in Gum to get a rare glimpse of a place where Soviet leaders used to grocery shop and buy their stuff. In case you want some modern shopping experience, head to the Okhotny Ryad Shopping Center with stores like New Yorker, Zara, and Adidas.

To continue this Moscow itinerary, next you may want to go inside the Kremlin walls. This is the center of Russian political power and the president’s official residence. If you’re planning to pay Kremlin a visit do your best to visit Ivan the Great Bell Tower as well. Go there as early as possible to avoid crowds and get an incredible bird’s-eye view. There are a couple of museums that are available during designated visiting hours. Make sure to book your ticket online and avoid lines.
Day 2 – Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Arbat Street
Metro Station: Kropotkinskaya on Red Line
As soon as you start creating a Moscow itinerary for your second day, you’ll discover that there are plenty of metro stations that are much closer to certain sites. Depending on your route, take a closer look at the metro map to pick the closest.
The white marble walls of Christ the Saviour Cathedral are awe-inspiring. As you approach this tallest Orthodox Christian church, you may notice the bronze sculptures, magnificent arches, and cupolas that were created to commemorate Russia’s victory against Napoleon.
How to Get a Decent Haircut in a Foreign Country
Unfortunately, the current Cathedral is a replica, since original was blown to bits in 1931 by the Soviet government. The new cathedral basically follows the original design, but they have added some new elements such as marble high reliefs.
Home to some precious collection of artworks, in Tretyakov Gallery you can find more than 150,000 of works spanning centuries of artistic endeavor. Originally a privately owned gallery, it now has become one of the largest museums in Russia. The Gallery is often considered essential to visit. But I have encountered a lot of locals who have never been there.
Famous for its souvenirs, musicians, and theaters, Arbat street is among the few in Moscow that were turned into pedestrian zones. Arbat street is usually very busy with tourists and locals alike. My local friend once called it the oldest street in Moscow dating back to 1493. It is a kilometer long walking street filled with fancy gift shops, small cozy restaurants, lots of cute cafes, and street artists. It is closed to any vehicular traffic, so you can easily stroll it with kids.
Day 3 – Moscow River Boat Ride, Poklonnaya Hill Victory Park, the Moscow City
Metro Station: Kievskaya and Park Pobedy on Dark Blue Line / Vystavochnaya on Light Blue Line
Voyaging along the Moscow River is definitely one of the best ways to catch a glimpse of the city and see the attractions from a bit different perspective. Depending on your Moscow itinerary, travel budget and the time of the year, there are various types of boats available. In the summer there is no shortage of boats, and you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Travel Itinerary for One Week in Beijing
If you find yourself in Moscow during the winter months, I’d recommend going with Radisson boat cruise. These are often more expensive (yet comfy). They offer refreshments like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and, of course, alcoholic drinks. Prices may vary but mostly depend on your food and drink selection. Find their main pier near the opulent Ukraine hotel . The hotel is one of the “Seven Sisters”, so if you’re into the charm of Stalinist architecture don’t miss a chance to stay there.
The area near Poklonnaya Hill has the closest relation to the country’s recent past. The memorial complex was completed in the mid-1990s to commemorate the Victory and WW2 casualties. Also known as the Great Patriotic War Museum, activities here include indoor attractions while the grounds around host an open-air museum with old tanks and other vehicles used on the battlefield.
How I Planned My Trip to Vietnam
The hallmark of the memorial complex and the first thing you see as you exit metro is the statue of Nike mounted to its column. This is a very impressive Obelisk with a statue of Saint George slaying the dragon at its base.
Maybe not as impressive as Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower , the skyscrapers of the Moscow City (otherwise known as Moscow International Business Center) are so drastically different from dull Soviet architecture. With 239 meters and 60 floors, the Empire Tower is the seventh highest building in the business district.
The observation deck occupies 56 floor from where you have some panoramic views of the city. I loved the view in the direction of Moscow State University and Luzhniki stadium as well to the other side with residential quarters. The entrance fee is pricey, but if you’re want to get a bird’s eye view, the skyscraper is one of the best places for doing just that.
Day 4 – VDNKh, Worker and Collective Farm Woman Monument, The Ostankino TV Tower
Metro Station: VDNKh on Orange Line
VDNKh is one of my favorite attractions in Moscow. The weird abbreviation actually stands for Russian vystavka dostizheniy narodnogo khozyaystva (Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy). With more than 200 buildings and 30 pavilions on the grounds, VDNKh serves as an open-air museum. You can easily spend a full day here since the park occupies a very large area.
Places to Visit in Barcelona That Aren’t Beaches
First, there are pavilions that used to showcase different cultures the USSR was made of. Additionally, there is a number of shopping pavilions, as well as Moskvarium (an Oceanarium) that features a variety of marine species. VDNKh is a popular venue for events and fairs. There is always something going on, so I’d recommend checking their website if you want to see some particular exhibition.
A stone’s throw away from VDNKh there is a very distinctive 25-meters high monument. Originally built in 1937 for the world fair in Paris, the hulking figures of men and women holding a hammer and a sickle represent the Soviet idea of united workers and farmers. It doesn’t take much time to see the monument, but visiting it gives some idea of the Soviet Union’s grandiose aspirations.
I have a thing for tall buildings. So to continue my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow I decided to climb the fourth highest TV tower in the world. This iconic 540m tower is a fixture of the skyline. You can see it virtually from everywhere in Moscow, and this is where you can get the best panoramic views (yep, even better than Empire skyscraper).
Parts of the floor are made of tempered glass, so it can be quite scary to exit the elevator. But trust me, as you start observing buildings and cars below, you won’t want to leave. There is only a limited number of tickets per day, so you may want to book online. Insider tip: the first tour is cheaper, you can save up to $10 if go there early.
Day 5 – A Tour To Moscow Manor Houses
Metro Station: Kolomenskoye, Tsaritsyno on Dark Green Line / Kuskovo on Purple Line
I love visiting the manor houses and palaces in Moscow. These opulent buildings were generally built to house Russian aristocratic families and monarchs. Houses tend to be rather grand affairs with impressive architecture. And, depending on the whims of the owners, some form of a landscaped garden.
During the early part of the 20th century though, many of Russia’s aristocratic families (including the family of the last emperor) ended up being killed or moving abroad . Their manor houses were nationalized. Some time later (after the fall of the USSR) these were open to the public. It means that today a great many of Moscow’s finest manor houses and palaces are open for touring.
20 Travel Tips I’ve Learned From Travelling The World
There are 20 manor houses scattered throughout the city and more than 25 in the area around. But not all of them easily accessible and exploring them often takes a lot of time. I’d recommend focusing on three most popular estates in Moscow that are some 30-minute metro ride away from Kremlin.
Sandwiched between the Moscow River and the Andropov Avenue, Kolomenskoye is a UNESCO site that became a public park in the 1920’s. Once a former royal estate, now it is one of the most tranquil parks in the city with gorgeous views. The Ascension Church, The White Column, and the grounds are a truly grand place to visit.
You could easily spend a full day here, exploring a traditional Russian village (that is, in fact, a market), picnicking by the river, enjoying the Eastern Orthodox church architecture, hiking the grounds as well as and wandering the park and gardens with wildflower meadows, apple orchards, and birch and maple groves. The estate museum showcases Russian nature at its finest year-round.
12 Stunning National Parks and Regional Parks In France
If my travel itinerary for one week in Moscow was a family tree, Tsaritsyno Park would probably be the crazy uncle that no-one talks about. It’s a large park in the south of the city of mind-boggling proportions, unbelievable in so many ways, and yet most travelers have never heard of it.
The palace was supposed to be a summer home for Empress Catherine the Great. But since the construction didn’t meet with her approval the palace was abandoned. Since the early 1990’s the palace, the pond, and the grounds have been undergoing renovations. The entire complex is now looking brighter and more elaborately decorated than at possibly any other time during its history. Like most parks in Moscow, you can visit Tsaritsyno free of charge, but there is a small fee if you want to visit the palace.
How To Stop Procrastinating When Trip Planning
Last, but by no means least on my Moscow itinerary is Kuskovo Park . This is definitely an off-the-beaten-path place. While it is not easily accessible, you will be rewarded with a lack of crowds. This 18th-century summer country house of the Sheremetev family was one of the first summer country estates of the Russian nobility. And when you visit you’ll quickly realize why locals love this park.
Like many other estates, Kuskovo has just been renovated. So there are lovely French formal garden, a grotto, and the Dutch house to explore. Make sure to plan your itinerary well because the estate is some way from a metro station.
Day 6 – Explore the Golden Ring
Creating the Moscow itinerary may keep you busy for days with the seemingly endless amount of things to do. Visiting the so-called Golden Ring is like stepping back in time. Golden Ring is a “theme route” devised by promotion-minded journalist and writer Yuri Bychkov.
Having started in Moscow the route will take you through a number of historical cities. It now includes Suzdal, Vladimir, Kostroma, Yaroslavl and Sergiev Posad. All these awe-inspiring towns have their own smaller kremlins and feature dramatic churches with onion-shaped domes, tranquil residential areas, and other architectural landmarks.
Two Weeks In Thailand: The Perfect 14-Day Itinerary
I only visited two out of eight cities included on the route. It is a no-brainer that Sergiev Posad is the nearest and the easiest city to see on a day trip from Moscow. That being said, you can explore its main attractions in just one day. Located some 70 km north-east of the Russian capital, this tiny and overlooked town is home to Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, UNESCO Site.
You Will Also Like: 3-Day London Itinerary
Sergiev Posad is often described as being at the heart of Russian spiritual life. So it is uncommon to see the crowds of Russian pilgrims showing a deep reverence for their religion. If you’re traveling independently and using public transport, you can reach Sergiev Posad by bus (departs from VDNKh) or by suburban commuter train from Yaroslavskaya Railway Station (Bahnhof). It takes about one and a half hours to reach the town.
Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a great place to get a glimpse of filling and warming Russian lunch, specifically at the “ Gostevaya Izba ” restaurant. Try the duck breast, hearty potato and vegetables, and the awesome Napoleon cake.
Day 7 – Gorky Park, Izmailovo Kremlin, Patriarch’s Ponds
Metro Station: Park Kultury or Oktyabrskaya on Circle Line / Partizanskaya on Dark Blue Line / Pushkinskaya on Dark Green Line
Gorky Park is in the heart of Moscow. It offers many different types of outdoor activities, such as dancing, cycling, skateboarding, walking, jogging, and anything else you can do in a park. Named after Maxim Gorky, this sprawling and lovely park is where locals go on a picnic, relax and enjoy free yoga classes. It’s a popular place to bike around, and there is a Muzeon Art Park not far from here. A dynamic location with a younger vibe. There is also a pier, so you can take a cruise along the river too.
How to Save Money While Traveling in Europe
The Kremlin in Izmailovo is by no means like the one you can find near the Red Square. Originally built for decorative purposes, it now features the Vernissage flea market and a number of frequent fairs, exhibitions, and conferences. Every weekend, there’s a giant flea market in Izmailovo, where dozens of stalls sell Soviet propaganda crap, Russian nesting dolls, vinyl records, jewelry and just about any object you can imagine. Go early in the morning if you want to beat the crowds.
All the Bulgakov’s fans should pay a visit to Patriarch’s Ponds (yup, that is plural). With a lovely small city park and the only one (!) pond in the middle, the location is where the opening scene of Bulgakov’s novel Master and Margarita was set. The novel is centered around a visit by Devil to the atheistic Soviet Union is considered by many critics to be one of the best novels of the 20th century. I spent great two hours strolling the nearby streets and having lunch in the hipster cafe.
Conclusion and Recommendations
To conclude, Moscow is a safe city to visit. I have never had a problem with getting around and most locals are really friendly once they know you’re a foreigner. Moscow has undergone some serious reconstruction over the last few years. So you can expect some places to be completely different. I hope my one week Moscow itinerary was helpful! If you have less time, say 4 days or 5 days, I would cut out day 6 and day 7. You could save the Golden Ring for a separate trip entirely as there’s lots to see!

I know very little about Moscow or Russia for the\at matter. I do know I would have to see the Red Square and all of its exquisite architectural masterpieces. Also the CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE SAVIOUR. Thanks for shedding some light on visiting Moscow.
Thanks for swinging by! The Red Square is a great starting point, but there way too many places and things to discover aside from it!

OMG I dream to visit Moscow someday! Hope the visa processing would be okay (and become more affordable) so I could pursue my dream trip!
Yup, visa processing is the major downside! Agree! Time and the money consuming process…

Is the Recent Climb in the Price of Gas About to Stall?
By: andrew gross.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 18, 2024)—Lackluster domestic demand for gasoline paired with decreasing oil prices led to the national average for a gallon of gas climbing just four cents to $3.67 since last week. With tensions running high over the past three weeks in the Middle East, the cost of oil reached the upper $80s per barrel. However, it has since fallen several dollars into the low $80s as the oil market watches to see if any further military actions occur.
“The situation overseas with war in both the Middle East and Ukraine has the oil market on edge,” said Andrew Gross, AAA spokesperson. “But this is also the time of year we may see a bit of a lull in gasoline demand between the end of spring breaks and ahead of Memorial Day. So, the national average for gas may waffle a bit with small increases, some flat days, and even some price dips.”
For the complete report, including the latest EIA data and oil market dynamics, please visit: https://gasprices.aaa.com/is-the-recent-climb-in-the-price-of-gas-about-to-stall/

Moscow for everyone: Here's how to enjoy the Russian capital whatever your passion
Flanked by the imposing buildings of the Kremlin, the stepped granite blocks of Lenin’s Mausoleum and the fanciful onion domes of St Basil’s Cathedral, Moscow's Red Square is nothing short of legendary, but only a taste of what the Russian capital has to offer.
Manicured gardens and parks, brutalist monuments, quirky museums, open-air cinemas and glitzy boutiques co-exist in this storied city, which burst into the 21st century with a slew of restaurant openings and grand urban schemes.
Visitors have never had it so easy, with a raft of digital innovations designed to facilitate and enhance the tourist experience.
One such is the RUSSPASS , a new e-service that allows users not only to plan and book attractions in Moscow and across Russia, but also to create bespoke itineraries to suit every type of interest and budget. The RUSSPASS app is available in English and Spanish and allows tourists to buy e-tickets and to top up the balance of a Moscow transport card.
Beyond caviar and ballet
Moscow’s burgeoning gastronomic scene has been causing a stir locally and internationally. Published for the first time in 2021, the Michelin Moscow Guide awarded its prestigious stars to no fewer than nine of the city’s restaurants. A total of 69 restaurants were recommended, with three of them awarded ‘green stars’ for sustainability. Fifteen restaurants received the ‘Bib Gourmand’, which acknowledges excellent cooking at affordable prices.
Time-honoured haunts for blinis and caviar include the baroque Café Pushkin and the formidable soviet-themed Dr Zhivago , while the glass-domed White Rabbit , whose chef starred in Netflix's 'Chef's Table', continues to dazzle with creative twists on classic dishes. Also creating a stir is Twins Garden , which focuses on wildly inventive vegetable dishes and home-grown produce.
As the country emerges from the pandemic, music, theatre and exhibitions are also back on the agenda. A performance from the matchless Bolshoi Ballet has been a hot ticket since the 18th century, but the Bolshoi Theatre is just one of more than 700 Moscow cultural centers.
These include world-renowned palaces of art such as the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts , a remarkable collection bringing together masterpieces from every major Western movement as well as Egyptian antiquities.
Lesser-known but equally fascinating galleries lie all over the city. An offshoot of the Tretyakov Gallery, the New Tretyakov Gallery also focuses on modern Russian artists, and features works by Kandinsky, Chagall and Popova, among many others.
Moscow's wealth of parks and curious architecture make it a great place for children. The fairytale colours of buildings such as St Basil's Cathedral are every match for the architectural whimsy at Dream Island , a huge indoor theme park where cartoon characters wander through the crowds.
The shiplike Northern River Terminal, built in the 1930s in a Stalinist style, is also a favourite, and has recently undergone dramatic renovation. It now includes a wealth of children’s playgrounds, heating swimming pools and a winter ice rink.
Other ways to keep the little ones entertained include catching a movie at the Khudozhestvenny cinema or a trip on the Moskva River cable car. This vertiginous ride has panoramic views over the city, taking in the Moscow river, the Ostankino TV and radio tower and the skyscrapers of the business district.
These and other activities for children and families are laid out in the official city tourist portal, discovermoscow.com . Here you’ll find information on every type of attraction, from which animals can be petted at the VDNH city farm to the best street food snacks and where they can be found.
It’s a huge and colourful resource, covering the most obscure museums and secret parks, with suggestions for different days of the week and a blog-style news section. On a practical level it lays bare the transport system, COVID-19 protocols, Wi-Fi possibilities and where to hire bikes and scooters.
Rising to current challenges with innovation
Not only its attractions, but also Moscow’s enormous efforts to face the health crisis in practical and forward-thinking ways have been acknowledged on the international stage. In 2021 it has been nominated for both World’s Leading City Destination and Europe’s Leading City Destination at the World Travel Awards.”
The authorities’ support for the travel industry in troubled times has seen dozens of online events and international tourism conferences, as well as the launch of the Moscow Travel Hub, a collaborative platform to promote the creation and development of new products and services.
The spring of 2021 saw the Moscow Travel Hack, an extensive hackathon in which finalists were offered financial support for the implementation of their products, at a time when digital tourism solutions have never been so integral.
Digital tourists can use discovermoscow.com to take a virtual trip to the ballet or opera and even watch cooking or fashion shows. Together with the wealth of detail and endless images of the site, even armchair travellers can experience the wonders of Russia’s greatest metropolis.

How the alt-right used X to exploit the Bondi attacks
It's true that nature abhors a vacuum, but nature's got nothing on X (formerly Twitter) in a crisis.
On Saturday afternoon, in the aftermath of the mass stabbing at Bondi Junction, there was a yawning news void on the topic of the attacker's identity or motive.
In the hours that followed, Australian journalists had little choice but to repeat ad nauseum the few confirmed facts they had, whilst everyone from Anthony Albanese down reminded us that speculation was unhelpful.
Sensing an opportunity, anti-Semitic and white supremacist accounts on X began suggesting with varying degrees of certainty that a Muslim terrorist was to blame , or that the attacker must be Jewish.
Then, roughly four hours in, one of the accounts fed the vacuum a name: Ben Cohen, a 20-year old Jewish man from Sydney's eastern suburbs.
The rumour festered on alt-right Twitter overnight, and journalists, also famous for their allergy to a vacuum, picked it up.
Early the following morning, two 7 News reporters named Ben Cohen as the "confirmed" attacker on TV and online.
Those stories have since been deleted, and 7 News has apologised for what it's described as a "human error".
So how does an ideologically motivated lie travel from alt-right internet backwaters to a national newsroom?
The finer points are so far a mystery and I hear speculation is unhelpful, but we know for sure that it passed through two main gates along the way.
The first was X's content moderation policies, and the second was at least one journalist's bullsh*t detector.
Regarding the first gate, I wouldn't be the first or last person to complain about how X is run.
Since entering its (selective) free speech era under Elon Musk , banned accounts have been reinstated and content moderation has been gutted.
In fact, late last year, the platform was officially kicked out of Australia's voluntary misinformation code for noncompliance , meaning technically, it no longer has to comply at all.
Crucially, no-one anywhere is expecting X to change in the foreseeable future.
Which brings us to the second gate: how journalists treat X.
In general, the media and the world more generally has an unhelpful habit of sorting the social web into two discrete tiers.
Above, we have the street level, consisting of Instagram, Facebook, and on a good day, TikTok — platforms which employ safety teams, engage with regulators, and at least attempt to label or remove misinformation.
Beneath that, there's the lawless, lightless sewer of unmoderated platforms like Gab, 4Chan, and Truth Social.
In the past, Twitter would have blended in more neatly on the street level.
For a decade prior to being absorbed into Musk's empire, it had cemented itself as a legitimate source of information, and a flawed but genuinely useful tool for newsgathering.
But in 2024, as 'X', it has a foot in both worlds, at best.
Part of the problem might be that we're confusing X with Twitter: a platform that no longer exists.
Meta complaint dismissed (aka how transparent should a transparency report be?)
Last month, Meta was accused of exaggerating its response to disinformation on Facebook .
A complaint was made to the regulator that Meta's most recent transparency report promised more comprehensive labelling for known falsehoods that it was delivering — a claim the company rejected.
On Monday, the committee dismissed the complaint, saying there was "no convincing evidence" .
It's likely the end of the road for the matter.
Australia's code of conduct for misinformation on platforms is voluntary, and was co-designed by companies such as Meta.
Under the code, complaints are considered by an independent subcommittee set up by DIGI, the same industry body that represents tech companies interests in Australia.
The safety research group that made the complaint, Reset Tech, says the decision shows that "platforms can say what they like in their Transparency Reports" .
"This is an embarrassment for a country that once led the world on online safety," Reset's executive director Alice Dawkins said.
In an (irony-free) statement explaining why the transparency complaint had been dismissed, the committee expressed its disappointment "that Reset Australia chose to share the substance of its complaint with the media".
No win (yet) for Twiggy Forrest in his war on a Facebook crypto scam
While we're on Meta, mining magnate Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest was going after the company in a WA court over dodgy crypto ads using his name and image to defraud investors, but the matter was dropped late last week.
One woman lost $670,000 as part of the scam , which also made use of fabricated ABC articles.
Watch this space though, because he's also pursuing it in a California court, which is due to give a verdict next month.
And if it's all too much…
(Which it might be, this week, and fair enough) then I hope you find some comfort in this Rorschach test of a subreddit, devoted to mysterious cookie cutters .
