“ Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around for a while you could miss it .” – Ferris Bueller
“ When was the last time you did something for the first time ?” – John C. Maxwell
I love the idea of trying something for the first time and pushing that comfort zone just a bit farther. Just like the time I was on the South Island of New Zealand and took part of a 15,000 foot skydive!
“ The most beautiful thing in the world is, of course, the world itself .” – Wallace Stevens
“ Travel is never a matter of money, but of courage .” – Paulo Coelho
“ The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page .” – Saint Augustine
“ Remember that happiness is a way of travel – not a destination .” – Roy Goodman
“ Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore .” – Andre Gide
“ There’s a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they’re absolutely free. Don’t miss so many of them .” – Jo Walton
When I first started to travel around the world, I did not truly appreciate sunrise and sunset. But as I continued to travel, I made it a priority in many places I visited. Everything from a sunrise at Uluru to a Brooklyn Bridge sunset , I have been able to experience plenty through the years.
“ Travel – the best way to be lost and found at the same time .” – Brenna Smith
“ The traveler sees what he sees. The tourist sees what he has come to see .” – G.K Chesterton
“ There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign .” – Robert Louis Stevenson
“ All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware .” – Martin Buber
“ Half the fun of travel is the aesthetic of lostness .” – Ray Bradbury
This quote could not be more true. While I certainly plan a good portion of my trips, there is nothing like stumbling across a hidden gem. Some of these experiences were during my time exploring some of the most awe inspiring Indonesia waterfalls .
Short Travel Quotes for Instagram
Finding the perfect photo opt during any vacation is on many people’s minds while traveling. And every good Instagram photo needs a catchy caption to go along with it! However, they don’t all have to be long or tell a story.
Check out these ideal short travel quotes for Instagram .
“If it scares you, it may be a good thing to try .” – Seth Godin
“ The biggest risk in life is not taking one .” – Barfi
This quote is one that truly speaks to me. I had a decision to make a few years back. Do I continue my life in a comfortable full time job, or do I go ahead and take a year to travel the world . The risk of not traveling was too big of a risk for me!
“ Every exit is an entry somewhere else .” – Tom Stoppard
“ To travel is to live .” – Hans Christian Anderson
“ Life is too short and the world is too wide .” – Simon Raven
“ Live your life by a compass, not a clock .” – Stephen Covey
“ To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries .” – Aldous Huxley
“ To travel is worth any cost or sacrifice .” – Elizabeth Gilbert
“ Let’s wander where the wifi is weak .” – Unknown
This quote is something I can truly relate to. Some of the best places on Earth are those that are more off the grid. Mountains, glaciers, rivers, lakes, and more make up some of the most beautiful landscapes. Sometimes these are a ways away from the comfort of cellular service (like my time on the Huayhuash Circuit in Peru).
“ Constantly searching for views that take my breath away .” – Unknown
“ I follow my heart; it usually leads me to the airport .” – Unknown
“ Nothing lasts forever, except the day before you start your vacation .” – Gayland Anderson
“ A change of latitude would help my attitude .” – Unknown
“ Take only memories, leave only footprints .” – Chief Seattle
This is something that everyone should truly pay attention to while traveling. Be aware of what you are leaving behind and leave your destination the same way it looked when you arrived. This can be especially true for places like the mountains of Nepal , where it is truly just you and nature.
Short & Sweet Travel Quotes
Sometimes it only takes a few simple words to change your mind to get into that travel mindset. Whether you are needing a few words of wisdom or just a couple of seconds of encouragement, the smallest of phrases can have the most impact.

“ Life is short. The world is wide .” – Mama Mia
“ Don’t quit your daydream .” – Neely Duncan
“ Just go .” – Unknown
“ You don’t have to be rich to travel well .” – Eugene Fodor
I feel like people who are scared off by travel need to consider this. At any budget, it is possible to travel the world. Don’t think you need to spend hundreds of dollars a day on a vacation. You can easily get by for $20 in places like Thailand or Cambodia , where some extraordinary destinations are located.
“ The journey is my home .” – Muriel Rukeyser
“ It is better to travel well than to arrive .” – Buddha
“ I don’t feel restless, I just like to travel .” – Brad Pitt
“ Planes, trains, and all the feels .” – Unknown
“ Blessed are the curious for they will have adventure .” – Unknown
“ Not all those who wander all lost .” – JRR Tolkein
This is another quote that I can relate to (and I am sure many of you can as well). Just because you may not know exactly what you want at a point in time, doesn’t mean you are lost in life. I wandered the world for a year to learn more about myself and the type of things that I enjoyed most. Keep wandering until you find what fits you best (like Fitz Roy in Patagonia).
Short Travel Quotes for Couples
Traveling together with your partner is one of the biggest steps to take in a relationship. Being together away from home for a long period of time will allow you to see each other from a new perspective.

“ Take every chance you get in life, because some things only happen once .” – Karen Gibbs

“ Wherever you go, go with all your heart .” – Confucius
“ In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take .” – Lewis Carroll
“ We have nothing to lose, and a world to see .” – Rainie Navarro
“ I don’t want to be tied down with someone, I want to be set free with someone .“ – Unknown
“ So many places on this planet, but your arms are still my favorite .” – Unknown
“ Couples that travel together stay together .” – Unknown
“ In life, it’s not where you go, it’s who you travel with .” – Charles Schulz
“ The goal is to die with memories, not dreams .” – Unknown
While it is always great to have dreams and a bucket list, be sure to actually act on those dreams. Take that leap of faith and make those memories. Believe me you won’t regret it!
Short Inspirational Travel Quotes
Inspirational travel quotes aren’t just words, they are a powerful influence over the minds of many travelers. The written word of travel can fuel any dream that can create a life-changing adventure.

“ I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world .” – Mary Anne Radmacher
“ The journey, not the arrival matters. ” – T.S Eliot
“ Once a year, go somewhere you’ve never been before .” – Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama said it best here. Keep on traveling and keep on seeing new places. Even if that means exploring your backyard more and more. During my time living in New York, I continuously experience new places, like the world famous Brooklyn Bridge .
Get inspired by NYC! Check out some of the best New York City quotes .

“ I never know of a morning in Africa, when I woke up and was not happy .” – Ernest Hemingway
“ You can, you should, and if you’re brave enough to start, you will .” – Stephen King
“ Travel makes you modest. You see what a tiny solace you occupy in the world .” – Gustave Flaubert
“ Life begins at the end of your comfort zone .” – Neale Donald West
It is easy to live life comfortably within the confines of your comfort zone. However, once you begin to leave that comfort zone, you will find out so much more about yourself. Don’t be afraid to take that leap and do the things that may feel more uncomfortable (like waking up for sunrise over Mount Bromo ).
Short Travel Quotes About Oneself
Traveling, especially solo travel, allows you to learn a lot about yourself. You’ll gain confidence and skills you never knew were capable of, and you will develop a longing for adventure and have a new outlook on life like never before.

You just need to take that one single step to take a journey of a lifetime. It is usually that first step that is the hardest. But once you are out there, each step just gets easier and more enjoyable.
“ Two roads diverged in a yellow one, and I took the one less traveled by .” – Robert Frost
“ If traveling was free, you would never see me again .” – Unknown
“ We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves .” – Pico Lyer
“ A year from now, you will wish you had started today .” – Karen Lamb
“ Climb the mountain so you can see the world, not so the world can see you .” – David McCullough
This quote really speaks to be due to the amount of hiking that I do during my travels. I love seeing new landscapes and what the world has to offer, such as the extraordinary Everest Base Camp trek . Traveling and hiking is about you seeing the world and the beauty that lays all around.
“ Stop following others and create your own path in life .” – Dani Jay
“ If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet .” – Rachel Wolchin
“ One recognizes one’s course by discovering the paths that stray from it .” – Albert Camus
Short Funny Travel Quotes
Every aspect of life has to have a little laugh involved. You can’t take everything so seriously all the time, especially adventure. Travel makes for some of the best stories that are full of memories.

“ It is not down on any map; true places never are .” – Herman Melville
“ A hangover suggests a great night, jet lag suggests a great adventure .” – J.D Andrews
A word of the wise here – just don’t try and combine the two! Every trip should be filled with fun and late nights. Some of my favorite memories were in Croatia , hanging out with new friends out in the streets of Hvar.
“ It feels good to be lost in the right direction .” – Unknown

While food was not my top consideration while traveling, it is quite crazy how different food can be around the world. For those adventurous eaters out there, each country surely will offer something unique to try (like the markets of Japan ).

These short travel quotes with family and friends will inspire you to take an adventure with the ones you love most.

“ A journey is measured in friends rather than miles .” – Tim Cahill

Lesser-Known Travel Quotes
1. “ Blessed are the curious for they will have adventures. “ – Lovelle Drachman
This is one of the best travel quotes that affirm the notion that those who have the undying enthusiasm to discover new places, things, and even knowledge will always be rewarded with exciting encounters and memories! Don’t you agree?
2. “ A great way to learn about your country is to leave it. “ – Henry Rollins
The first time I read this travel quote, I couldn’t help but laugh because it is SO true! In fact, the first time I flew out of my home country, the Philippines , and landed in the city of Hong Kong , I was just blown away!
Among many other things, I couldn’t help but compare the infrastructure and public transportation (yep, we are far behind!) . I even learned about how others viewed my country as well as us Filipinos, and though it was disconcerting at first, it was — for the most part — refreshing to see how others perceived the place that I grew up in. You bet that the little bubble that I was living in was burst open and it exposed me to a world that challenged what I know while presenting me with new insights that I couldn’t have known had I cooped myself home.
3. “ Travel opens your mind as few other things do. It is its own form of hypnotism, and I am forever under its spell. “ – Libba Bray
I love how poetic this quote is by Libba Bray because I am absolutely under travel’s spell for several years now… and if it IS hypnotism, I don’t ever want to snap out of it! How about you?
4. “ We must travel in the direction of our fear. “ – John Berryman
I gotta admit, I used to fear the thought of traveling to India . Countless stories from friends and families alike kept me from ever setting foot in the country — but I knew that deep within me, amidst the fear that was built up by others’ words, was a deep desire to see the country for myself… and so, I booked a ticket.
Much like what this travel quote says, I traveled in the direction of my fear, and it was an amazing decision! After all, I had the chance to challenge the wrong ideas in my head and when I got over it, the ordeal brought me clarity and made me into a better person as I learned better to never let prejudice rule me.
5. “ Live your life by a compass, not a clock. “ – Stephen Covey
The best travel quotes always have a beautiful message like this one! After all, we were not born to solely work and waste our life away in society’s pre-set motions. We are more than the hours we put in at work and the obligations that we hold. We deserve to enjoy life as it is and to see more of what this world has to offer us!
True enough, in this context, a compass can mean a lot of things; but the way I see it, other than the meaning of giving ourselves the chance to wander off to places anew, it also represents the sense of following a certain direction — a direction to which our heart is leading us to, may that be a breather or a dream that has been put on hold.
6. “ You don’t have to be rich to travel well. “ – Eugene Fodor
We can’t deny the fact that travel costs money BUT it doesn’t have to be costly .
For years now, a lot of travelers and backpackers have already proven how they can have meaningful travels without breaking the bank — take it from me as well who was able to afford to travel the world and tick off all 7 continents without spending a fortune! So don’t ever let money be an excuse not to travel .
7. “ Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul. “ – Jamie Lyn Beatty
While we’re still talking about money, YES, we all need money to live, that’s a fact; however, it’s vital that we do not to let it rule us. We must always seek a balance in which we could unwind and go on trips in order to enrich our lives.
It’s just like what this axiom says: adventures DO fill our souls.
8. “ If you think adventures are dangerous, try routine: it’s lethal. “ – Paulo Coelho
Some people find solace in routine, but it helps to remember that you are not a cog in a machine that’s designed to do repetitive actions day in, day out. Of course, I can’t deny that there’s beauty in the mundaneness of everyday life; but if you find yourself seeking comfort in it for the sole reason that you fear something new, then it’s time to put a stop to it and get out of your comfort zone!
9. “I would rather own a little and see the world than own the world and see a little of it.” – Alexander Sattler
Sometimes, we get too caught up with work with the goal of saving up for future adventures — but what actually ends up happening is that you get distracted by the process. You work more, you buy more. You get caught up in it all. So… what happened to your travel dreams?
It’s quite easy to forget why you’re working in the first place, so try not get swept up by shallow things.
10. “ Be brave. Take risks. Nothing can substitute experiences. “ – Paulo Coelho
Can you think of an activity or a trip that you thought was initially risky — and yet it turned out to be the best travel experience that you ever had and you just can’t imagine yourself not taking it?
11. “ People travel because it teaches them things they could learn no other way. “ – Lance Morrow”
This is one of the best travel quotes that is truthful and straight to the point! Apart from obvious added life skills such as learning how to navigate yourself through foreign public transportation, or learning how to speak and converse with the use of foreign languages, travel also exposes you to other people who have stories of their own and other cultures that are totally different than yours.
Case in point, had you stayed home, you would have never seen with your own eyes that some people just don’t live the way you do — and that it’s okay. Or that other communities find something you initially deemed as offensive as something that is normal and accepted — and that’s also okay!
Travel simply broadens the way you understand and perceive the world, and the opportunities for learning are always endless! It is truly a form of education that is beyond any book or classroom.
12. “ To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, draw closer, to find each other, and to feel. That is the purpose of life. “ – Walter Mitty ( The Secret Life of Walter Mitty )
Have you watched this movie before? It is one of my favorite travel movies and I highly suggest giving it a try to give you a boost of motivation to travel!
13. “ I travel not to cross countries off a list, but to ignite passionate affairs with destinations. “ – Nyssa P. Chopra
While there is nothing wrong with the aim of crossing countries off of your bucketlist, it can prove to be helpful to develop a sense of passion or meaning to why you choose to travel.
14. “ Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen. “ – Benjamin Disraeli
…but, if you have to think of one travel memory that stands out above the rest, what would that be?
15. “ Don’t ask for security, ask for adventure. Better to live 30 years full of adventure than 100 years safe. “ – Jim Rohn
I acknowledge the fact that we all have different priorities in life and there’s nothing wrong if your priority is to be financially secure at an early age. So though this travel phrase might not resonate with you, I hope you can also see the bit of truth in it that as it is with life, it’s a lot better to try and go for adventures while we’re still young and able to. So don’t waste what you have now!
16. “ I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world. “ – Mary Anne Radmacher
FACT : travel changes you and this artistic or aesthetic quote captures this thought perfectly. The changes may be small at times, but traveling never fails to leave its mark as it enables you to soak in a new learning or two.
17. “ Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost. “ – Erol Ozan
I’ve gone through this myself far too many times now and it’s always a pleasant surprise to stumble upon unexpected discoveries. Given this probability, I often make it a point to wander around a new destination with no direction in mind!
So tell me, what amazing place have you managed to find by accident?
18. “ Once in a while it really hits people that they don’t have to experience the world in the way they have been told to. “ – Alan Keightley
The world is constantly changing along with people’s mindsets and preferences; so don’t ever box yourself in thinking that there is just one fixed style of travel — or that there is just one way to live.
In fact, years ago, I was told to lead my life as my parents did: get a job, marry, and have kids. Dreams have to take the backseat. It was suffocating but it was the only way I knew; that’s why I’m glad my eyes were opened to a number of other possibilities… and here I am today, experiencing the world the way I NOW know how, and the way that I want it to!
19. “ There is a kind of magicness about going far away and then coming back all changed. “ – Kate Douglas Wiggin
Similar to the meaning behind quote #16, the effect of travel is akin to some sort of enchantment because one’s exposure to a variety of novel occurrences can bring forth valuable insights that can change just about anyone — and for the better at that!
20. “ If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home. “ – James Michener
You can’t fully be immersed in your travels if you close yourself to the world and the reality that’s before you. Yes, it will make you feel uncomfortable — you’re in a new environment after all — but if you take the time to breathe and see what’s in front of you for what it is, you’ll be surprised at how unfounded your fears are. So try to be a bit more open, or else there might not be a point in your travels.
21. “ I’ll look back on this and smile because it was life and I decided to live it. “ – Anonymous
…and yes, you ARE living it!
22. “When you’re traveling, you are what you are, right there and then. People don’t have your past to hold against you. No yesterdays on the road.” – William Least-Heat Moon
The best travel quotes capture the beauty of traveling — as this saying goes, you can be who you want to be because of the simple fact that nobody knows you. Ain’t that swell?
23. “Every traveler has a home of his own, and he learns to appreciate it the more from his wandering.” – Charles Dickens
I tend to think that the grass is always greener on the other side, but travel has taught me that the grass was already green where I was! Oftentimes, we take some things for granted, and for me, I used to think that the Philippines wasn’t a great place to live in — so I left. But after living in Europe for a while, I started to develop a deeper fondness for my home country. Of course, Europe was better in a LOT of things (it’s made up of a lot of first-world countries after all) but I’ve since learned that every place has its own pros and cons. The Philippines clearly had a lot more cons, but I now see its own beauty that I will never exchange for another place.
And above all, it is home.
24. “Our happiest moments as tourists always seem to come when we stumble upon one thing while in pursuit of something else.” – Lawrence Block
I’m sure you all have fun or funny stories related to this! If you have the time, I’d love to hear about it. Please leave a comment at the bottommost part of this post!
25. “This is a big and beautiful world. Most of us live and die in the same corner where we were born and never get to see any of it. I don’t want to be most of us.” – Oberyn Martell ( Game of Thrones )
When I started watching this TV series, I never thought that I would stumble upon one of the most impactful travel quotes there is!
Short Travel Quotes
26. “Work, Save, Travel, Repeat” – Anonymous
This is one of the best short travel quotes you’ve probably already heard of, but it’s a classic because it’s the kind of cycle that we just simply do in order to achieve our dreams of visiting different destinations all over the world. Some of you will grind the 9-to-5, while others choose to do remote work — and I do travel writing while being an online entrepreneur.
But whatever your profession may be, just know through this catchphrase that travel is never impossible.
27. “If not now, when?” – Primo Levi
Don’t put off your travel plans any longer! If you’re going to wait for that perfect set-up, you might wake up one day realizing that you’ve missed so many opportunities to just do it . Worse, you might already be too old to do, for instance, that hiking trail that you’ve always wanted to conquer. So hear me out: do it ASAP.
If you ever need some ideas on which destinations to go to and how to plan, don’t fret because I got you covered with my itinerary guides . So that’s definitely one thing you won’t have to worry about!
28. “Life is short and the world is wide.” – Simon Raven
A longer version of this quote goes like this: “Life is short and the world is wide, the sooner you start exploring it, the better.”
This is actually one of the best travel quotes that I have first encountered after I took the leap of faith to quit my job and travel the world . It’s simple but it holds so much truth. Besides, the sooner that you can try and jumpstart your journey, the better it will be!
29. “Oh, the places you’ll go!” – Dr. Seuss
With childlike wonder, positivity, and anticipation, I hope this quote inspires you to picture all of the new places that you’ll soon be setting foot in!
30. “Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R. Tolkien
I may be a LOTR fan… but with no bias at all, I can honestly say that this is one of the best adventure quotes out there. Sure, it may be overused by now, but it’s like that for a reason: it’s relevant and it just holds so much truth.
After all, most people tend to think that those who travel are out there in order to ‘find themselves ‘ — which, of course, could also be the case — but there are also those people who journey through the world because they feel more like themselves than ever before.
31. “ Don’t call it a dream, call it a plan. “ – Anonymous
This isn’t just one of the best travel quotes but also basically one of the best life quotes out there.
So whatever your reason is for putting off what you’ve always dreamed of — be it time constraints, lack of travel resources , or motivation — just remember that NOW is the perfect time to start making your dream your new reality. In fact, it shouldn’t simply be a dream, but a plan where you set certain actionable steps in order to attain whatever it is that you want to achieve.
32. “ Life is a journey, not a destination. “ – Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is the kind of adventure quote that is used for just about anything: may it be for self-help, mindfulness, or for travel.
Life is indeed a journey. It’s about living in the moment — in every little moment. Because the truth of the matter is, the destination is not nearly as important as to how we get ‘there’ or how we spend the whole of it. So take joy in any present experience, no matter if they are a mix of highs and lows. Don’t waste the present for an uncertain future!
33. “ Collect moments, not things. “ – Karen Salmansohn
The best travel quotes remind us how fulfilling and lasting joy can never be derived from things. Just think about it: you might have felt extreme joy when you got your first iPhone — BUT, that doesn’t have much of an impact compared to when you finally fulfilled that dream vacation.
You can easily lose interest in a new gadget, but you will forever cherish a fond memory. So imagine collecting a lot more of those glorious memories… won’t that be more amazing than a number of objects that can easily disappear or deteriorate?
34. “ Paris is always a good idea. “ – Sabrina (1995), Julia Ormond
A lot of people seem to have wrongfully attributed this travel quote to Audrey Hepburn’s character, Sabrina (1954 film). However, she NEVER said this line; instead, it was Julia Ormond’s Sabrina character in the 1995 movie version who said it.
Fascinating, right? Since Audrey is a more well-known actress, it makes sense that her name was used… but anyway, I hope this helps clear things up once and for all. That fun trivia aside, this is still one of the best travel quotes out there. Even if some people would argue that Paris is overrated, it’s still and always will be a good idea. Another quote you might love as well is when Humphrey Bogart uttered:
“We’ll always have Paris.”
35. “ The journey not the arrival matters. “ – T.S. Eliot
This simple quote may or may not resonate with you; but sometimes, there are in-between experiences that are often more worthy to be ‘savored’. This is actually similar to quote #32 wherein both of the quotes basically deliver the message that getting there is half the fun!
36. “ To travel is to live. “ – Hans Christian Andersen
This is one of the best travel quotes that is simple yet profound. It is actually an excerpt from Hans’ autobiography wherein the whole of it goes like this…
“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float, To gain all while you give, To roam the roads of lands remote, To travel is to live.”
37. “ Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. “ – Helen Keller
…and the rest of this goes…
“ Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure.” ( TRIVIA : The ‘at all’ part above wasn’t originally written in).
By the way, Helen’s quote is actually one of the top best travel quotes that I lived by in the past years. After all, we only have one short precious life… so why not just make the most of it?
38. “ Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. “ – Jennifer Lee
We are all searching for something that stirs up a passionate spirit within us, and if you’re lucky enough to find what that is, you must definitely do everything in your power to go for it! In my case, it was traveling… it always has been. I pursued it with such fervor and my life has truly been a bliss since then! As such, I hope that you’ll find yours too.
39. “ Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. “ – Anonymous
As someone who is also passionate about financial management, I would have to cheekily point out that travel does NOT technically grant you more money, compared to buying things like investments, etc. I mean, that’s just basic common sense.
However, we also know that traveling gives us a lot of invaluable things that would actually help make us richer in terms of knowledge, friends, skills, and so much more!
40. “ Dare to live the life you’ve always wanted . “ – Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is an example of the best travel quotes that have been changed or paraphrased over time. Ralph’s actual quote for this was:
“ Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.”
I hope this serves as a reminder that it’s about time you step out of your comfort zone and finally take that leap of faith. For instance, does traveling solo in Europe scare you even if it’s something you’ve been dying to do? If it is, try and challenge that fear. Look at how others have been able to do it — so you’ll surely be able to do it too! There’s no better time to dare yourself than NOW.
41. “In the end, we only regret the chances we didn’t take.” – Lewis Carroll
This is similar to another life quote that I love so dearly:
“ Making a big life change is pretty scary. But, know what’s even scarier? Regret . “
There have been so many people, mostly seniors, in my travels who have shared their sentiments that mostly revolve around this idea. Those conversations struck me deeply and I hope it will help you realize — just as much as I did — to take more chances rather than end up regretting not doing anything at all.
42. “ I’m in love with cities I’ve never been to and people I’ve never met. “ – Melody Truong
Did you know? This is one of the best travel quotes that has been written by someone so young! Melody was only 13 when she wrote this on her Tumblr page, and since then it blew up — plus, it was even WRONGLY attributed to the author of the book, ‘ The Fault in our Stars ‘. Anyhow, I’m sure you have felt the same sentiments that Melody stated in this travel quote. It’s quite a melancholic feeling, but it’s the kind of longing that can easily be remedied with a purchase of a plane ticket ! * wink *
43. “ I love the feeling of being anonymous in a city I’ve never been before. “ – Bill Bryson
Don’t you just love this? If you ask me, traveling is the closest thing to living multiple lives because every trip that I take, it gives me the chance to transform myself into someone else. Or maybe I could even start over from a clean slate where I can truly be me — to show a face that I have never shown to anyone before. It’s absolutely fun, like that first day in school where you’re afraid yet also excited about the idea of meeting new people, new encounters, and so much more!
The brand new unfamiliarity of just about everything is the topmost allure to traveling, don’t you think so too?
44. “ I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list. “ – Susan Sontag
This is what most travelers feel, and even if it’s close to impossible to see just about every single place in the world, our list will keep on growing. And we will do everything in our power to try and see as much as we could! Personally, I’m in no rush to see it all but it would surely be amazing to be able to do so.
45. “ Adventure may hurt you but monotony will kill you. “ – Anonymous
Naturally, there are risks involved when you go on any adventure; but more often than not, the rewards far outweigh the risks. Sometimes, those risks would either cease to exist or turn into wonderful experiences instead! (That being said, don’t ever forget to buy travel insurance !)
Now, of course, I acknowledge the fact that people are often content with the normal course: get a job, get married, have kids, and retire. But if you feel that there is more that you want out of life, get out of that rut and do more of what you want to do! Similar to this, I also love the following quote by Maya Mendoza…
“No amount of security is worth the suffering of a mediocre life chained to a routine that has killed your dreams.”
46. “ Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time. “ – Aliyyah Eniath
This is one of the best travel quotes that has an underlying message of ecological conservation . As travelers, we must always find ways to minimize our impact on nature. We only have one Earth, so we should do our part in ensuring that we continue to preserve this world’s flora and fauna. If I may leave a tip, always try to carry a bag with you where you can stash any waste you produce or see in any place that you travel to — may it be to the beach or to the mountains.
47. “I don’t know where I’m going, but I’m on my way.” – Carl Sandburg
At times, especially when you’re on a long term travel spree — or even with life, in general — there will be moments where you just don’t know what you’re doing or what you’re even trying to get to. But so long as you’re working towards something, know that you’re still heading in the right direction.
48. “ There’s no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this. “ – Matt Hogan
I hope this serves as a helpful reminder if you ever catch yourself thinking that you’re bored. In fact, ‘travel’ can be as simple as a trip to a nearby lake or a hiking trail — the world is basically your playground, so remember that there is much for you to see and do!
49. “ Live life with no excuses, travel with no regret. “ – Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde led an extraordinary life and if you want to gain more context behind this famous travel quote of his, you should try reading his biography book that’s written by Richard Ellmann. Anyhow, I definitely believe that living life with no excuses and traveling to your heart’s content is a wonderful mantra!
50. “ When was the last time you did something for the first time? “ – John C. Maxwell
The best travel quotes serve as great prompts for all of us to continue learning, exploring, and experiencing new adventures! It will not only help us lead a fun and fulfilling life, but also in getting of a rut when things seem to slip into monotony.
51. “ Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before. “ – Instructions for Life (1999)
Here’s an interesting fact for you: you might have seen this quote being attributed to the Dalai Lama, but he actually NEVER said this! Nevertheless, this remains to be wise words that I hope you get to follow because it’s truly a great goal to travel to a new place at least once a year.
52. “ The biggest adventure you can ever take is to live the life of your dreams. “ – Oprah Winfrey
This quote isn’t exactly for travel, but it sure works as one of the best travel quotes that will help pump you up in reaching for your dreams — whatever that may be! If you ask me, it actually still feels surreal that I’m now living my dreams… because 10 years ago, if you told me that this would be my new lifelong lifestyle, I would have NEVER believed you! And in the words of Oprah, it has been one big adventure full of ups and downs; however, it’s the kind of ordeal that I won’t ever give up nor turn away from.
53. “ Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world. “ – Gustav Flaubert
Traveling is definitely a humbling experience that opens you up to new perspectives especially about your existence. Sure, it could make you feel insignificant and small like a drop of water in the ocean, but I rather see it as a positive thing because it helps you focus on what really matters. It shreds away any frivolities and superficial things that you’ve previously deemed as important in life.
There have been numerous encounters where I have gone through this feeling such as when I felt the scale of the world and its environmental issues when I traveled down to Antarctica , or how little my problems were when I witnessed India ‘s slums.
54. “ Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. “ – Ibn Battuta
Every adventure grants you a ‘book’ of stories and memories; in fact, this is one of the best travel quotes that describes why I set up a travel blog in the first place! It has always been my wish to impart inspiration and tips through my own travel experiences, so this online space has been perfect for my needs.
Though… if I may so myself, don’t you think that sometimes, words aren’t just enough to describe what you’ve been through? I guess this is why we also tell our stories so that others could take their own adventures and go through what we’ve been through ourselves — by then, they will fully understand what we meant.
55. “ We travel, some of us forever, to seek other places, other lives, other souls. “ – Anais Nin
This is one of the best travel quotes that would describe the future me because I’m 100% sure that I will be traveling forever — or of course, for as long as I’m alive. Do you think you’ll be the same?
56. “ A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles. “ – Tim Cahill
I totally agree with this one! I’ve met a lot of amazing friends from all over the world and I’m sure you know the saying that sometimes it’s your companions that help shape a travel trip — and you bet that the times I’ve spent with people have made my travels even more fun and fulfilling.
57. “ Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. “ – Neale Donald Walsch
Years ago, if I didn’t venture beyond my comfort zone, I would have still been depressed, working a 9-to-5 job that I didn’t love as I lived from paycheck to paycheck. That wasn’t my definition of ‘living’ nor will it ever be my passion nor my cup of tea — so I took the leap. And boy, I have never looked back since then! It wasn’t easy, that’s for sure, but the end result was worth my prior struggles.
58. “ Of all the books in all the world, the best stories are found between the pages of a passport. “ – Saber Ben Hassen
One could argue the semantics of calling a passport a ‘ book ‘, but in its essence, it certainly serves as one. This is for the reason that every stamp, every tear, and every crease holds a multitude of amazing memories and encounters!
59. “ Actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures. “ – Anonymous
There are a ton of ideas out there on gifts for travelers and naturally, granting someone a gift where they can go travel is the best of all!
P.S. The quote above is wrongfully attributed to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. A lot of merchandisers have used his name to sell the quote and I understand it’s lovely, but up till now I can’t find the right author of the quote — but it’s definitely NOT from Lewis Carroll.
60. “ To awaken quite alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world .” – Freya Stark
Remember those first mornings you’ve had in foreign places? You’ll first wake up feeling disconcerted and then… it dawns on you that you’re in a new destination. Next is the excitement and thrill as you realize the number of fresh experiences you’ll soon encounter. Aaaah… I can’t wait to wake up in a new country soon!
61. “ To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries. “ – Aldous Huxley
We all have preconceived notions about countries, cultures, and people in general. We hear them from the media and even from our own friends, but this is one of the best travel quotes that reiterates the idea of how you have to see things for yourself before forming strong opinions about anything.
62. “ Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. “ – Andre Gide
This is literally a perfect ‘mantra’ for travelers; but altogether, it’s a great message for how we should lead our lives. Plus, much like the rest of these adventure quotes, this one tells us the obvious truth that we can’t grow nor accomplish anything until we let ourselves do things that we have never done before.
63. “ The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. “ – Saint Augustine
Don’t delay your travel plans any further, it’s time to fuel your wanderlust and see the places you’ve long wanted to see! Just like what this famous travel quote says, if you don’t go anywhere, you’ll definitely have a limited view of the world.
64. “ Better to see something once than hear about it a thousand times. “ – An Asian Proverb
Similar to quote #61 above, it’s preferable that we witness something with our own two eyes than to base it off on other people’s opinions or observations. Even if let’s say, they dissuade you to visit it because it’s dangerous or too touristy, I urge you to find out for yourself.
65. “ We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. “ – Robyn Yong
A lot of us see travel as an escape from our daily life, but this is one of the best travel quotes that puts a nice spin to it because, in actuality, our mundane daily life is where life escapes us. Travel is one of the greatest solutions that helps revitalize our spirits and brings back our zest for life. Don’t you agree?
66. “ We wander for distraction but we travel for fulfillment. “ – Hilaire Belloc
Similar to the previous quote, we’re usually lost at first when we wander since we want to distract ourselves from anything that we want to escape from. But as you go through the motions, you’ll start to know yourself better and what your limits are… and in one of those moments, you’ll slowly start to feel that travel truly is for your fulfilment.
67. “ Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow. “ – Anita Desai
The same way that friends can shape up who we are, the places we’ve seen and the encounters we’ve been through will forever make an impact on us. It can manifest into different things, may it be a change or an improvement in your mannerisms, favorites, values, and so on. In fact, a new language or a new friend can easily “become a part of you” and that’s a wonderful thing!
68. “ Travel doesn’t become adventure until you leave yourself behind. “ – Marty Rubin
I have some qualms with this particular quote but I can see that it has a meaningful message. If there is one thing that I think we should leave behind within ourselves when we travel, that would be prejudices; but then again, as we venture out into the world, it is naturally broken down. Don’t you agree? Other than prejudices, preconceived notions of fear is also an ideal thing to get rid of in order to truly come face to face with adventures of all kinds!
69. “ A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving. “ – Lao Tzu
I believe that what Lao Tzu wanted to say about this quote is that we should basically live in the present moment — a focus on the ‘now’ is always a lot better than a focus on the outcome because doing so will help us be more open to a range of sudden opportunities and possibilities. Besides, more often than not, the best travel experiences come from unplanned situations!
70. “ Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place. “ – Anonymous
Sure enough, there is an ENORMOUS world out there with various people to meet, cultures to see, food to try, and sights to enjoy. Staying in just one place may work for you, but just think of how much you’re missing out on some of the things that this world has to offer — so why not take advantage of it while you’re still here?
71. “ We travel for romance, we travel for architecture, and we travel to be lost. “ – Ray Bradbury
Travel always finds a way to unlock a myriad of emotions, desires and circumstances. Tell me, for what reason do you travel?
72. “ If we were meant to stay in one place, we’d have roots instead of feet. “ – Rachel Wolchin
I love the clever way this quote was written, and indeed, we’re not plants meant to sit in just one spot and grow — we got feet for moving. And it’s not just for walking from home to work or elsewhere, but it’s for us to explore… and to just basically feel, that yes, we are here and we are alive.
73. “ Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. “ – Ralph Waldo Emerson
While I don’t advise following this quote when you’re going on a hike (lol, unless okay, you know the terrain like the back of your hand) , this quote is amazing — literal meanings aside. After all, there is joy in carving out your own path away from what’s normal and what’s overdone. If you take it a step further and apply it to life in general, you can partake on a journey that no one has ever done before, and you’re sure to leave a mark that will pave the way for others to follow suit.
74. “ I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move. “ – Robert Louis Stevenson
We all have our reasons for traveling, and you might not wholly agree with what Robert says here, but… I believe we can all agree on his last sentence: the great affair is to move — and to go beyond than just getting from point A to point B.
75. “ Wanderlust consumed her; foreign hearts and exotic minds compelled her. She had a gypsy soul and a vibrant hope for the unknown. “ – D. Marie
In case you don’t know it yet, wanderlust is defined as the strong longing or impulse for wandering/traveling. That being said, this is definitely one of those inspirational quotes that a lot of female travelers use. Though some may find a negative connotation to the word ‘gypsy’, a gypsy soul is said to refer to a person who loves movement and freedom.
Long Travel Quotes
76. “We are torn between a nostalgia for the familiar and an urge for the foreign and strange. As often as not, we are homesick most for the places we have never known . “ – Carson McCullers
Similar to quote #42 above, this is one of the best travel quotes that depicts our longing for places beyond!
77. “I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” – Mark Twain
A lot of people say that travel is the best way to test a relationship — not only for partners but also for friends, and I totally agree with them! Do you? If you do, can you share a particular story that encapsulates the thought in this travel quote?
For me, apart from testing the waters with my past boyfriends, I fondly remember going on a trip with this girl that I met during my travels. One of my blogging projects permitted me to bring a +1 along and I immediately thought of her who was also in the area. Besides, she was really cool and I even enjoyed her company, so I was all, “ why not? ” Well.. to my surprise, I discovered that she was a total diva and she was also the most condescending person that I’ve ever met who was super disrespectful to servers and waiters alike. It made me really glad that I saw that side of her sooner rather than later!
78. “ The more I traveled the more I realized that fear makes strangers of people who should be friends. “ – Shirley MacLaine
Don’t you agree with this? Because I do. We all ‘fear’ the unknown — or whatever it is that is different from us or from what we’re used to. But I think that if we just take the time to be open and understanding, we can quickly realize that we are all just one and the same.
79. “ When preparing to travel, lay out all your clothes and all your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money. “ – Susan Heller
Preparing your luggage for a trip can be such an arduous task and this quote cleverly sums up what needs to be done — but if you ever need a ‘helping hand’, you should check out my packing guides !
80. “ I travel because it makes me realize how much I haven’t seen, how much I’m not going to see, and how much I still need to see. “ – Carew Papritz
If someone asks me why I travel, this is one of the best travel quotes that answers one of my top reasons why! How about you?
81. “ Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you’ve never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground. “ – Judith Thurman
If you look back to quote #76 above, you will see how the message of this saying by Judith is very similar.
82. “ Now more than ever do I realize that I will never be content with a sedentary life, that I will always be haunted by thoughts of a sun-drenched elsewhere. “ – Isabelle Eberhardt
This holds so much truth for me because honestly, I never had the urge nor dream to travel when I was young. I was absolutely content with the little island that I grew up in —but the more that I was exposed to the world (and even more so after my first trip abroad) , I was hit with the realization that I DO yearn for more!
83. “ We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. “ – Jawaharial Nehru
To desire for adventures is one thing, but to be wholly appreciative and understanding of what you see in your travels is another matter that you must forever remember to hold.
84. “ And then there is the most dangerous risk of all — the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. “ – Randy Komisar
Related to adage #15 in this list, I am in love with the message that this quote is saying… but of course, I also recognize the idealistic message behind it because not everyone has the privilege to get up and take the leap to follow their dreams. But I hope that my story can help inspire you to see it is still possible because even someone like me who was broke and coming from dire circumstances was still able to risk it all and land to where I am today. So whenever it’s possible, no matter how small the steps may be, try and follow your passions or dreams.
85. “ The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. “ – Eleanor Roosevelt
Life is what you make it and with this one precious life you have, I hope you’re making the most of it!
86. “T o my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted. “ – Bill Bryson
The best travel quotes like this one often reminds us how the novelty of traveling is truly a feeling that anyone could get addicted to. In fact, even the smallest things can already seem so fascinating that they will just bring a smile to your face!
87. “ But the most beautiful things in life are just not things. They’re people and places, memories and pictures. They’re feeling and moments and smiles and laughter. “ – Anonymous
This is one of the best travel quotes (much like #33) that you’ve probably already heard of numerous times now — and it’s for the simple fact that it holds true!
88. “ Travel is like love, mostly because it’s a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end. “ – Pico Iyer
This is a great comparison because every trip that we take is akin to wearing rose-tinted glasses leading us to see everything in a fresh and wonderful light. Now, those glasses may or may not remain even after the trip ends, but much like what the last beautiful sentence says above: it’s a feeling, like a love affair, that will never really end!
89. “ You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place. You’ll not only miss the people you love but you’ll miss the person you are now at this time and this place, because you’ll never be this way ever again. “ – Azar Nafisi
There have been various instances as well as people that I wish I didn’t have to say goodbye to, but there IS one person that I don’t regret saying adieu — and that’s an older version of me. Besides, there has never been a travel experience that I didn’t come out as a better person, if not an improved ‘me’, and that is surely one of the beautiful things about it!
90. “ Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime . “ – Mark Twain
You’ve probably also heard of this awesome travel quote time and time again, but this is the sort of saying that will remain immortal because it simply holds true.
91. “ We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonics of creativity. When we get home, home is still the same. But something in our mind has been changed, and that changes everything. “ – Anonymous
Travel does not only affect creativity but a lot of other aspects in our minds as well: prejudice, bigotry, perception, preference, and so many others (just like what the #90 expression above says). And it’s surely this kind of change that I urge everyone to experience!
92. “ You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place. “ – Miriam Adeney
This is yet another one of the best travel quotes that I love! So far, I have tried living in other places around the globe and the more I explore, the more I realize that home is everywhere yet also nowhere. At times it’s not even just about the people, because home for me could be a feeling, a familiar tune, or even a fond memory. It is always changing and it might be a price I have to pay, but I will never give it up for anything in the world.
93. “ Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind. “ – Anthony Bourdain
Anthony was a legend and his words will forever remain with us in this world. He traveled far and wide and he perfectly described the truth about travel. I especially love the phrase that goes: “ the journey changes you; it SHOULD change you.” Meanwhile, another passage by Anthony that I love is as follows…
If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel – as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them – wherever you go.
94. “ Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. “ – T erry Pratchett
This is exactly how I felt when I finally revisited my hometown in the Philippines, Batanes , after 10 long years! I can’t stress enough how mind-blowing it was to see how much things have changed, or how vibrant the seas and mountains actually were.
Simply put: I understood that I took things for granted and I surely saw my hometown with ‘new eyes and extra colors’ —and yes, it was amazing! But at the very core, even though there were some changes here and there, I realized that the one who changed the most… was me.
95. “ Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends. “ – Maya Angelou
This is another one of the best travel quotes (similar to the maxim in #78) that I love because it resonates with one of the important learnings that I’ve gained while traveling: to try and have a deeper appreciation and understanding of everyone and everything in this world.
The way I see it, the more people I meet, the more accepting I become of other people’s, customs, beliefs, etc. Now, of course, it doesn’t mean that I have to concede nor condone what they do if I feel that it’s something I don’t agree with in the first place; but rather, it simply gives me the chance to understand better. And I believe that such a simple act can already help open doors or build bridges, bit by bit… Don’t you agree?
96. “ The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. “ – Chris McCandles ( Into the Wild )
Have you seen this movie before? I’m not gonna spoil it for you but it does have a lot of best travel quotes like this one. We each have our own ideals on how to lead a fulfilling life. It will always vary, but I believe that one constant truth about it is that we find enjoyment in discovering new things that exposes us to what this world has to offer.
97. “ There’s an opposite to déjà vu. They call it jamais vu . It’s when you meet the same people or visit places, again and again, but each time is the first. Everybody is always a stranger. Nothing is ever familiar. “ – Chuck Palahniuk
This travel quote may or may not hold true for you, but I believe that we can all agree that there just are certain places, people and things that have this certain effect… No matter the number of times, some of them still feel like a brand new ‘meeting’. If you ask me, Japan is my top-of-mind country for this because even if I’ve been there for countless times, I still can’t get enough of it. Everything still feels new like a breath of fresh air!
98. “ Traveling is a brutality. It forces you to trust strangers and to lose sight of all that familiar comforts of home and friends. You are constantly off balance. Nothing is yours except the essential things. Air, sleep, dreams, the sea, the sky. All things tending towards the eternal or what we imagine of it. “ – Cesare Pavese
It’s this kind of premise that scares a lot of new travelers, but hear me out: sure, travel can be brutal but NOT all the time. The start could be difficult but these kinds of experiences will help you realize how adaptable, independent and strong you can actually be. It could even be freeing, and the more you expose yourself to these kinds of things, the better you become.
99. “ But that’s the glory of foreign travel, as far as I am concerned. I don’t want to know what people are talking about. I can’t think of anything that excites a greater sense of childlike wonder than to be in a country where you are ignorant of almost everything. Suddenly you are five years old again. You can’t read anything, you have only the most rudimentary sense of how things work, you can’t even reliably cross a street without endangering your life. Your whole existence becomes a series of interesting guesses. “ – Bill Bryson
I love the phrase used by Bill here: ‘ childlike wonder ‘ because it truly encapsulates the emotion that I feel when I first step in a foreign country. With everything that’s new to me, it just makes me feel as if I’ve stepped into a whole new world — and that’s a feeling that I will never get enough of.
100. “ One fine day, it will be your turn. You will leave homes, cities and countries to pursue grander ambitions. You will leave friends, lovers and possibilities for the chance to roam the world and make deeper connections. You will defy your fear of change, hold your head high and do what you once thought was unthinkable: walk away. And it will be scary. At first. But what I hope you’ll find in the end is that in leaving, you don’t just find love, adventure or freedom. More than anything, you find you. “ – Isa Garcia
Not a lot of travel blogs have this on their list so YES, this is one of the lesser-known travel quotes and I’m so glad that I discovered it back in my Tumblr blogging years. Truth be told, this is one of those sayings that helped inspire me at the start of my journey to take a leap and I’m absolutely happy to say that that “ one fine day” for me has already happened. My turn was up and it has been amazing since then!
How about you, when is your turn gonna be?

56 travel together quotes for friends and loved ones
By: Author Sylvia
Posted on Last updated: February 21, 2024
Are you looking for the best travel together quotes? You came to the right place.
I’m the sort of person who doesn’t like to travel alone.
Although I always hear from people who travel alone that it is super fun because you get to know a lot more new people, it is not for me. For me, nothing is more fun than traveling together.
Therefore we made an overview of the best quotes about traveling together.
But traveling together doesn’t always mean you should travel with your partner. Traveling with friends or with your best friend can also be lots of fun.
That’s why besides travel together quotes we also include couple travel quotes, couple adventure quotes, travel partner quotes, travel companion quotes, quotes on traveling with friends, and travel buddy quotes.
There is a really good chance that this post contains affiliate links. If you click one of them, we may receive a small commission (for which we are deeply grateful) at no extra cost to you.
Couple travel quotes
We start off with a collection of the best couple travel-together quotes. You must admit, what is more, beautiful than to travel with your loved one.
1. “It doesn’t matter where you are going, it’s who you have beside you.” – Anonymous
I partly agree with this quote. Whom you travel with is super important. You could be in an epic destination and your company could ruin the complete experience.
The opposite is true as well, an evening in a subpar guesthouse could turn into one of the most memorable experiences if you make some new friends.
We are fortunate to have already seen a lot of wonderful things like Antarctica, Japan , India , Alaska , etc.
Because of this, the destination has become somewhat more important for us.
Unfortunately, it seems that the more you travel, the harder it gets to get that wow-feeling. That’s why we now focus more on unique experiences instead of merely visiting places.
For example, I have been dreaming of a dog sledding trip in Lapland for years and spotting gorilla’s in Africa is also on my list.
Hopefully, we can scratch those items from our bucket list in the near future.
We will see what the future will bring.
2. “Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.” – Antoine Desaint-Exupery
In a long-term relationship, I think it is extremely important to have the same opinion about the important issues and to have the noses in the same direction on these issues. That makes having a long-term relationship much easier.
And it helps if your ideas about traveling are the same.
When we just met I had planned a trip around some African countries with a tent.
I still remember how relieved Kris was that, when I came back after spending 3 weeks in a tent, I admitted that I would appreciate somewhat more comfort on our next trips. 😊
3. “Our goal is to run out of pages in our passports.”
I think this is a nice goal, but to be honest, we will have a lot of work to get our passport full.
Now that it is valid for 10 years, who know, we may succeed.
Have you already got your passport filled out?
4. “In Life, It’s Not Where You Go, It’s Who You Travel With.” – Charles Schulz
I completely agree with this travel quote. Kris and I have already made many beautiful trips to eg Korea , Borneo , India and much more.
And despite the fact that these are beautiful destinations, it is always more special to share this together with Kris.

After all, we have always made the most special memories together and without his presence, those trips would be less special.
The following quote fits in nicely with this.
5. “I want to travel the world with you.”
I think, as someone who is addicted to traveling, that this is really a romantic quote. This is one of the most romantic things someone can say to me.
6. “Let’s travel together and get lost in beautiful places.”
We like nothing more than to wander through small streets and supposedly get lost. This is how we usually discover the nicest spots.
The best travel with friends quotes
7. “Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.” – Ernest Hemingway
Some people say that taking a vacation is the best way to get to know each other. And just as I agree with this quote, I think they are right.
When you’re going on a journey together, and certainly when you go to a somewhat adventurous destination, you can sometimes face surprises.
Discover things about each other that you didn’t know yet and didn’t expect. Some positives and some negatives.
With your loved ones you will manage to see through some of the annoyances but we’re sometimes reluctant to go on a trip with our friends because we’re afraid it would cause trouble in our friendship.
Then again, your trips with your friends can also bring you closer together.
Vacations cost money and you should be sure that you get to enjoy them.
That’s why I agree with this travel quote and I only take my loved ones and best friends with whom I’m sure I will have a good time.
8. “I just want to hold your hand and wander the streets with you.”
Sometimes, even when we’re on a holiday, we tend to impose a schedule on ourselves. It’s almost as if we are at work. An hour to visit the first site, 20 minutes to rush to the next, a quick picture, and on to the next sight.
Yet it feels so good letting go of time and plans!
We both really enjoy just heading to a neighborhood and wandering around, holding hands, like a romantic couple just watching daily life.
9. “ I would like to travel the world with you twice. Once, to see the world. Twice to see the way you see the world.”
10. “I want to travel the world with you, go to every country, every city, take pictures and be happy.”
I think this is certainly a romantic idea for a bucket list. Although we have traveled already a lot an visited many amazing places such as the Azores , Lisbon , Rajasthan, and Kerala in India , Borneo , Korea , Japan and much more.
Unfortunately, there are far too many countries and places in the world and it is absolutely impossible to do them all in one lifetime.
So as it usually goes in life, we should make choices. I certainly want to discover the Azores , Hawaii, Iceland, Namibia, The Philippines and so on.
Which countries are still on your bucket list?
11. “Let’s find some beautiful place to get lost together.”
And there are so many beautiful places to discover. I do not know how it is for you but for every destination that we can scratch off our bucket list, we add at least 2 new destinations.
As much as I love the idea of spending some months in one location it would be really hard to choose. We have seen so many beautiful places already…
12. “Will you give me yourself? Will you come to travel with me? Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?” – Walt Whitman
This quote could definitely be used for me as a marriage proposal. I would certainly say yes if the right person asks me to marry him with these words.
Marriage is a lifelong journey in itself, with ups and downs. The journeys we did together only brought us closer together.
We have been married now for several years. Kris didn’t ask me with these exact romantic words but I said yes anyway. 😍
13. “Here’s to all the places we went. And here’s to all the places we’ll go. And here’s to me, whispering again and again and again and again: I love you” – John Green.
This is the perfect quote to toast on with your loved one.
14. “Love is being with you anywhere.”
Certainly true for me. I love nothing more than discovering new places with Kris.
15. “Go the distance, couples who travel together are more likely to stay together and feel more connected.” – Anonymous
This quote absolutely refers to us. By discovering new destinations and doing things together, our relationship remains fascinating. What about you?
16. “I would gladly live out of a suitcase if it meant I could see the world with you.”
I do not fully agree with this quote. No matter how much I love to travel, always living from my suitcase is nothing for me. I am always happy to go back home after a trip.
17. “I want to laugh often, feel love, have a lot of insanely dirty sex and travel the world with you.”
18. “some souls just understand each other upon meeting” – n.r hart.
With some people, it clicks from the first moment you meet them. I remember the first time I met Kris.
We met through common friends and it immediately clicked. We also immediately had a common topic.
The whole evening we only spoke about traveling. Meanwhile, we are more than 10 years further and travel is still something we can not stop talking about.
19. “A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.” – John Steinbeck
This is true in a way. We do prepare our trips quite extensively and always have a very good idea about what we’re going to do, but we still need to change our plans sometimes.
Unexpected things interfere with our plans, sometimes for the good.
Because of some of the hiccups we have encountered we met interesting people we would not otherwise have met and we discovered beautiful places that we would not have known existed.
20. “Take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to get to and hard to get out of. And when you come back… and if you’re still in love with that person… get married at the airport.”– Bill Murray
I think this is very good advice.
Only when you leave your comfort zone you can really experience who your partner is, how you both react to certain situations and whether you are suitable for each other.
21. “That is why best trips like best love affairs, never really end.” – Pico Iyer
Your best trips don’t end with the flight back home. Several years later we still reminisce great stories about our journeys together over dinner.
When we’re out with friends we have good laughs about the funny things we encountered during our trips and when we look at the pictures we imagine ourselves being back there.
The memories of your best travels will stay with you for a lifetime.
22. “Fifty years from now, when you’re looking back at your life, don’t you want to be able to say you had the guts to get in the car?” -Sam Witwicky
23. “home is not where you are from, it is where you belong. some of us travel the whole world to find it. others, find it in a person.” – beau taplin, adventure couple quotes .
Here’s a list of the best adventure quotes for couples we came across during our journeys. I’m a person who gets quickly bored.
I’m always looking for new things to do and new adventures to experience.
And nothing is more fun than undertaking these adventures with your partner.
24. “Date someone who is a home and an adventure all at once.”
In my opinion, it keeps the relationship fascinating.
25. “Maybe it won’t work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.”
I think this quote applies to everyone who starts a relationship. It is always a bit of a step into the unknown and, unfortunately, often it doesn’t work out.
They say you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince. And this is absolutely true.
Sometimes, however, it becomes the greatest adventure of your life.
So if you are single and you get the chance to start a relationship, do not hesitate and go for it.
That first date may be the start of the most beautiful adventure of your life.
26. “As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.”- A.A. Milne
I can still vividly remember how on the evening we met, and again on our first date, we both talked passionately about all the destinations we had seen.
It was so much fun to exchange those stories.
We did of course talk about other things as well but those travel stories made us dream about all the adventures that we could still do together.
27. “Let’s go on an adventure. I’ll make some sandwiches and a flask of tea, we’ll get out walking boots on and get lost somewhere.”
We find nothing more fun than putting on our walking shoes during the weekend and going out to explore.
28. “I’ve fallen in love with adventures, so I begin to wonder if that’s why I’ve fallen for you.” – E.Grin
29. “actually, the best gift you could have given her was a lifetime of adventures.” – lewis carroll.
This quote definitely refers to me. You can not give me a better present than enough variety and adventure in life.
30. “Why should a relationship mean settling down? Wait for someone who won’t let life escape you, who’ll challenge you and drive you towards your dreams. Someone spontaneous who you can get lost in the world with. A relationship, with the right person, is a release, not a restriction.” – Beau Taplin
I certainly found someone like that with Kris. And you, have you already found someone who challenges you and drives you to your dreams?
31. “What we find in a soulmate is not something wild to tame, but something wild to run with.” – Robert Brauld
32. “you keep me safe, i’ll keep you wild.”.
33. “Oh darling, let’s be adventurers.”
This is a quote that absolutely suits me.
As a child, I always wanted to become an explorer.
And although we now like to travel in a comfortable way, there is nothing more fun than to undertake new adventures.
34. “We must take adventures in order to know where we truly belong.”
Everywhere we go we wonder how it would be to live there. Sometimes we just try to imagine it by watching daily life.
But in our opinion, the best way to find out is to engage in conversations with locals in pubs. This is so much fun and we even created some new friends doing this.
Sometimes our opinion about a particular city changes completely after we have spoken with the residents.
And despite the fact that we’re annoyed by many things in our home country (the sky-high taxes just to name one thing), it is often only when we travel that we value certain aspects of our home country more.
35. “If happiness is the goal, and it should be, then adventure should be a top priority.” – Richard Branson
I am, as I said already, someone who gets bored very quickly. So I need variety and new things to make me happy. What about you?
Travel partner quotes

Years later we still feel connected by those fun and crazy adventures that we have experienced together.
So here we share the best travel partner quotes, travel with friends quotes and get-together quotes.
36. “Friends are as companions on a journey, who ought to aid each other to persevere in the road to a happier life.” — Pythagoras
It is so important to have good friends who support you when you have a hard time but also share and celebrate your successes when you’re on a roll.
37. “In the end, what you do isn’t going to be nearly as interesting or important as who you do it with.” — John Green
I agree completely with this quote.
I do need some time for myself from time to time, but when it comes to going out, it’s so much more fun when you’re in good company.
And that goes for many things. It’s always much more fun to share the good things in life with somebody else whom you care about, and who cares about you.
That’s why it is so important to find a great travel companion with which it really clicks and with which you share the same interest.
38. “Surround yourself with people who make you hungry for life, touch your heart, and nourish your soul.”
It is so necessary to surround yourself with people who believe in you and who see a better version of yourself than you see. Only in this way can you grow.
39. “When traveling with someone, take large doses of patience and tolerance with your morning coffee.” – Helen Hayes
A very wise quote. Even though you may be best friends, and you may share the same interests in daily life, it is possible that you have a completely different idea about a vacation.
You may be someone who is up early, excited about the new adventures that are coming and who is out and about all day long.
Your travel partner may not get so excited about an active vacation and would rather relax by the pool.
This is an example with extreme opposites, a situation that is not likely to occur, but possibly over the course of your vacation, some small habits of your travel partner may start to annoy you.
Making some good arrangements in advance and showing the necessary understanding for each other will bring you a whole lot further.
40. “I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” — Mark Twain
Unfortunately, I have heard this from others and even personally experienced it.
I will not go into details here, but that holiday together was almost the end of our friendship.
So there is certainly truth in this quote from Mark Twain.
41. Everyone needs a friend who will call, and say, ‘Get dressed, we’re going on an adventure.” — Unknown
Sometimes spontaneous decisions result in the best experiences!
42.“Sometimes all you need is a great friend and thirst for adventure.”
When you have the feeling that life is boring and all days look-alike, a good friend and some sense of adventure can definitely change that.
Let go of control and have your friend take you on an adventure.
43. “The most beautiful things in life are not things. They’re people and places, memories, and pictures. They’re feelings and moments, and smiles and laughter.” — Unknown
It’s sad to see that we are increasingly evolving towards a materialistic society. Brands want us to believe that we will be happier with a bigger house, a bigger car, and a more expensive watch.
But the most beautiful things in life aren’t bought with money.
Enjoying a beautiful sunrise, and spending a pleasant evening with good friends. These are things that do not cost money but are priceless.
44. “Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you traveled.” – Mohammed
I’m not saying you should quit school early to do a world tour but I did learn a lot from my trips around the world.
There are so many things that you can not learn from books.
You only completely understand them once you have experienced them yourself.
I do believe the world would be a better place if everybody traveled more and showed real interest in the places they were going. Connecting with the people and being open-minded about their culture, beliefs and habits.
The best travel buddy quotes
Last but not least, below we share the best travel buddy quotes.
45. “A good friend listens to your adventures. A best friend makes them with you.” — Unknown
46. “life was meant to great adventure and close friends.”.
Adventure and good friends are very important to me. I always feel good when I’m surrounded by my best friends. Adventures keep life exciting and when you can enjoy them with good friends they’re twice as fun.
The best travel proverbs
47. “There is a whole world out there. Pack your backpack, your best friend and go.”
Although we have exchanged our backpack for a suitcase a long time ago, this is certainly a quote that still applies to us. There are still so many destinations on our bucket list and there is so much to discover.
So we regularly pack our suitcase and we are gone.
What’s your next destination?
48. “Life is about doing things that don’t suck with people who don’t suck.”
This is a straight-to-the-point quote. Maybe it can be better expressed but it is entirely right.
49. “We are all travelers in the wilderness of the world & the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” – Robert Louis Stevenson
Friendships are so important. Everyone should have at least one sincere friend to share successes and failures with.
50. “Be careful whom you make memories with. Those things can last a lifetime.” – Ugo Eze
Nothing is more beautiful than reminiscing about things that you have experienced together.
Most often the person you have experienced it with is just as important as what you did.
The real profound memories create a bond for life.
Looking back at those great moments that you enjoyed together with your friends, acquaintances and family members will not only give you a good feeling, it will also reinforce the bond you have with each other.
51. “Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter.” – Izaak Walton
I am fortunate that I can travel together with Kris and even though I hear from solo travelers how great it is to travel alone and how many cool and interesting people they meet.
Yet I would not want it any other way.
After all, nothing is more fun than to experience unforgettable things such as spotting a tiger or seeing a beautiful sunset together with your partner.
It is always more fun to be able to share experiences with someone else. It makes the memory for me more beautiful.
But if you aren’t in good company I do think that good music and a good book will also help to kill time.
52. “I get a friend to travel with me… I need somebody to bring me back to who I am. It’s hard to be alone.” – Leonardo DiCaprio
53. “you and me, we are more than friends. we are like a small travel gang”.
I think this is such a nice travel buddy quote and I would love to be a member of such a travel gang with which I could regularly discover a new destination. I think it’s a lot of fun.
How about you?
54. “A journey is best measured in friends rather than miles.” – Tim Cahill
55. “travel only with thy equals or thy betters; if there are none, travel alone.” – the dhammapada.
I do agree with this quote when it concerns my daily life. I believe that you become like the persons you spend the most time with. So I like to spend time with people that are positive and at least equal or better than me.
But I don’t yet see myself traveling alone. I met people who are really enthusiastic about it but it would be a big step for me. I have not tried it yet, so maybe I’ll change my mind once I’ve done it.
56. “Friends that travel together, stay together.”
Or they argue so much during their holiday that the friendship is partly over after it. 😆 But I firmly believe that if the journey is a success this will strengthen the friendship that already existed.
That is why it is so important to make good arrangements in advance, you don’t want to risk losing a friend over a vacation.
I really enjoyed writing this article. It brought back many good memories, both to the journeys I did with Kris and the ones I did with my friends.
I’m sure you will be able to cheer up your travel buddy or travel partner with one of these quotes if he or she is in a bad spot.
Or you could use them to surprise them and show how much you appreciate their friendship.
And don’t forget to keep your travel partner adventurous, because he or she will do the same for you.
I hope that you enjoyed reading these travel together quotes as much as I enjoyed writing them.

15 Travel Quotes Perfect for Vacation Planning
- By Sarah Barkley

It’s easy to forget the importance of getaways, but these travel quotes will help you remember. Whether your trip is long or short, you must have something to look forward to. Plus, you must embrace the time you are off and learn to relax during your trip. Those who are planning to combine their wedding and vacation may want to consider the Cayman Islands. You may click here for more info on what makes this place a great destination wedding spot. Domestic travelers, on the other hand, may want to visit Biloxi, MS and stay at one of their casino resorts like the one at this page https://www.palacecasinoresort.com/ .
These travel quotes will help you plan the trips you’ve always dreamed of. Plus, they’ll inspire you to visit new places you’ve never been to before. The quotes also help you commit to adventures and fully embrace life.
Travel Quotes Perfect for Vacation Planning
Spending time exploring new places will change your life, and these travel quotes will help you with your planning. Use these quotes to get inspired and excited about your future trips.
1. “It isn’t how much time you spend somewhere that makes it memorable: it’s how you spend the time.” – David Brenner
You can’t always take an extended trip, but you can still plan an exciting time. Even when you only have a few days off, plan activities that you’ll never forget. Spend your time in meaningful ways, and you’ll return to your daily life feeling refreshed.
When you plan a trip to a new location, remember this travel quote. Make sure you open yourself up to the influences of each place you visit. When you do this, you can see, hear, and experience life and culture in other areas of the world.
As you plan your trip, remember this quote and make an effort to experience the new environment. As Lerner explains, traveling with an open mind helps in your search for excellence.
3. “People should look for accessible vacation destinations the same way they look for any other vacation destination – based on their own personal tastes and preferences.” – Candy B Harrington
It doesn’t matter where you are going as long as you plan around your personal preferences. Choose places that will help you relax and that will be an enjoyable experience for you.
Don’t base your plans around what other people like because this is your trip. If you can remember this as you plan, you’ll come up with the perfect location for your trip.
4. “Think about it; how do you feel when you are planning a vacation? You feel excited and happy. Your stress level is diminished, and this also affects your work in a positive way.” – John Morgan
Sometimes planning a trip is just as much fun as going on one. As these travel quotes suggest, the planning process decreases stress levels and increases your productivity. When you’re thinking about the good time you’ll have, you’ll be happier in all areas of your life.
5. “I have never believed that vacations are luxuries. They are our necessities–just like shelter, clothes, and food, they make us feel like humans and not like animals that care only for survival.” – Alexander Babinets
As you plan your trip, remember that this is time for you to do the things you enjoy. Don’t think of it as a time of over-indulgence because you need this time to recover from daily tasks. You need this time to relax and let loose just as much as you need anything else in life.
6. “Once a year, go somewhere you have never been before.” – Dalai Lama
While it’s nice to visit your favorite places repeatedly, you must switch it up sometimes. As you plan your next trip, choose somewhere you haven’t been before. It’ll inspire you and help you gain wisdom about the world around you.
Even when you visit a new location, you don’t have to travel far. There are plenty of places around the world that you haven’t seen before. Do a little research during your planning to find somewhere new within your travel boundaries.
7. “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who has just had one.” – Elbert Hubbard
This is one of the best travel quotes for trip planning. Even if you have just returned from a trip, start planning your next one. When your experience is over, and you return to real life, you might feel a little disappointed.
By starting the planning of your next trip, you’ll bring back the feeling of excitement. Use the time you have to plan something new and exciting, and you’ll always have something to look forward to.
Leave time for spontaneous experiences and unexpected schedule disruptions. Even the most perfectly planned trip might not go as planned. Don’t try to micromanage every detail, or you’ll end up stressed out and disappointed.
Instead, make your plan but be open to disruptions and rearranging of your schedule. Your time off is a time for relaxation and fun, so don’t be too strict that it makes the experience terrible.
9. “An upcoming vacation gives us something to eagerly anticipate.” – Jaime Kurtz
No matter where you are going, you’ll look forward to it eagerly. This eager anticipation promotes joy and happiness in your life. You’ll be much happier than when you only have work and daily tasks in your future.
10. “A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it in.” – Robert Orben
Sometimes the perfect experience requires planning for nothing but downtime. Choose a location where you can relax so that you don’t feel like you’re missing anything. Everyone needs time to rest and recover from daily life without a time restriction.
11. “A vacation helps to relieve stress and boredom, gives us a change of scenery, provides us with adventure, and helps to bring us closer to the people in our lives.” – E. S. Woods
If you think you don’t need time off, then this is the travel quote for you. It would be best if you had time to destress and embrace the loved ones in your life. Plus, a change of scenery and a sense of adventure will inspire you and improve your productivity.
Remember this quote during your planning so that you remember how important time off is. When you remember that you need this time, the planning becomes more enjoyable and meaningful.
12. “Of journeying the benefits are many: the freshness it bringeth to the heart, the seeing and hearing of marvelous things, the delight of beholding new cities, the meeting of unknown friends, and the learning of high manners.” – Muslih-Uddin Sadi
Traveling improves your life in many ways that you might not realize right away. As this quote details, travel brings freshness to your life and allows you to see and experience many new things to do . You’ll meet people you wouldn’t have otherwise, and you’ll gain wisdom that you can’t find anywhere else.
13. “As you grow older, you learn a few things. One of them is to actually take the time you’ve allotted for vacation.” – John Battelle
It’s easy to say you don’t have time, but you must take a break from your daily life. You won’t enjoy life if you don’t ever make time for relaxation. Plus, you’ll be more productive when you return home than you would have been without a break.
If you’re reluctant to plan a trip, remember this quote about traveling. Please don’t feel bad for taking time off because it’s essential to your well-being.
14. “Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.” – Maya Angelou
Everyone needs a chance to rest and recuperate without dealing with any problems. It’s a time for you to ignore the issues and stop searching for solutions. When you take this time, it helps you withdraw from your everyday stressors for a bit.
15. “A vacation should be just long enough that your boss misses you, and not long enough for him to discover how well he can get along without you.” – Jacob Morton Braude
When you plan for a trip, you’ll want to decide on the length of your trip. Don’t make the adventure so short that your boss doesn’t even notice that you’re gone.
However, it’s no longer temporary time off if your boss learns how to get the job done without you. Use this quote in your planning to help choose your trip length.
Final Thoughts on Remembering These Words to Inspire Your Next Vacation
Whether you’re in the final planning stages or haven’t started yet, these travel quotes will help you. These quotes will inspire you to plan trips that make you happy and help you relax.
Plus, travel quotes remind you of why you should plan a trip. Remember your favorite quotes as you start planning your next trip, and you’re sure to have the best time.

Betting Bites: Player quotes to help guide your Masters market choices
10 Min Read
Golfbet News
Change Text Size
If you’re looking for a last-minute nugget before making your final bets for the Masters make sure you’ve covered all the angles.
Here’s what those speaking to the media at Augusta National this week have had to say that may or may not influence your betting choices, with the start of the year’s first major just one day away.
Jordan Spieth (+2200)
“Constant TLC,” Spieth said when speaking of how he tends to his wrist issue that flared up at the Valero Texas Open last week.
“I had it reoccur in January after Hawaii and I had it Monday of the PLAYERS Championship and then Monday of last week. When it happens, I can't do anything that day. Typically, as the week goes on, it gets better and better, using it more and more, and I'm recovering more and more than, say, my days off at home. I'm getting treatment daily here. That's included with everything else that I didn't used to do.
“It's an ECU tendon issue that unfortunately I've not fixed, but when it flares up, it flares up for like 24 hours, and then it just slowly gets better, versus last May when I couldn't play the Byron and then in October it was another week and a half or so. And since then, since I've gotten more on top of it by December, I at least know what it is and how to get it quickly better.
“It's something that I don't think there's really anything I can do other than rest. And I'm not resting it anytime soon. So, I'll probably take quite a bit of time when the season's over and see if it kind of sets it back in place and doesn't flare up as much.”
Min Woo Lee (+6600)
The firebrand Aussie revealed Tuesday he’s playing with a broken finger suffered in the gym .
“I dropped a dumbbell on my hand… Broke it. But I have it bandaged up right now. I hit my first shot for the last week on Friday, so hit my first full driver. Honestly, it's actually amazing how fast the recovery was. It was bruised, still swollen, but not actually that painful which is really strange,” Lee revealed.
“I went to the doctor and I thought it was OK because I could move it. It was just red. I thought it would be fine. Then they came in and said, you've broken it. So, yeah, a lot of anxiety.
“Somehow recovering very good, so icing and elevating as much as I can. Yeah, I guess it wasn't the best prep, and I got the flu two days ago.”
Scottie Scheffler (+400)
The shortest-priced favorite at the Masters since Tiger Woods in 2013, Scheffler is looking to return to the summit reached in 2022. Comes in with wins at THE PLAYERS and Arnold Palmer Invitational and in rare ball-striking form.
“I'm excited about how I've been playing to begin this year. I had two nice wins, which was obviously a bunch of fun. Then I was close in my last start as well,” Scheffler says.
“I think it's just one of those deals where all I'm trying to do is put myself in contention in the tournament and hopefully finish it off. I really am not looking much past tomorrow. I'm focused on my preparation right now. And those things don't really occupy many of my thoughts day-to-day.”
Wyndham Clark (+3000)
The first reigning U.S. Open champion to be a Masters rookie since 1970 really likes his chances. Recent runner-up results to Scheffler at Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass have Clark in a confident mood as he chases becoming the first rookie to win the Masters since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979.
“Stats like that are meant to be broken. I know it's a tall task. It's a challenging golf course. There's a bunch of good golfers. With that said, you have to still bring your game. So it's not like you can just flip a switch and win it,” Clark says.
“But that would be an amazing accomplishment. And I like my chances. I really like myself on this golf course. I feel good on a lot of tee shots and approaches, and there's so much creativity. So I feel good coming into the week.”
Rory McIlroy (+1100)
The chase for the career Grand Slam continues for McIlroy who comes in after a steady third-place finish at the Valero Texas Open last week. The world No. 2 added the event to change up his preparation for Augusta.
“I think it's been beneficial to play a little bit more this year leading into not just this tournament but the spring and the summer. I'm a little more in tune with where my game is and where my misses are and once you play a lot, you learn just how to manage your game a little bit better instead of, if you haven't played that much, and you're a little rusty,” he said.
“I just think that patterns emerge the more that you play. I feel like I've got a big enough sort of data set of rounds to sort of know how to manage what I'm doing right now. So I think that's been a good thing.”
Jon Rahm (+1200)
The defending champion is looking to be the first repeat winner since Tiger Woods in 2001 and 2002.
“If I would go based on how I feel today on a Tuesday, I feel physically better than I did last year. But then once competition starts, it doesn't really matter. Once the gun goes off, whatever you feel is out the window; you got to go out there and post a score.”
Xander Schauffele (+1400)
With four top-17 finishes in the last five years, including a T2 and T3 at Augusta National many believe this is the year for Schauffele.
“A steady drip caves a stone is something I grew up with. People tell me good playing, and they're not wrong, I feel like it was some solid golf that I've been playing. It's not a false statement. Obviously, you just want it to be that much better,” he said.
“But at the end of the day, I think that's also the reason why I keep having these performances where I am close, just because it's bothering me and it's something that I really want. And if I clip one, it's not going to be enough for me to be satisfied. So I think it's definitely what motivates me as a golfer and as a competitor just to keep pushing.”
Tiger Woods (+15000)
The five-time champion still thinks he can make it six at 48 years old. But he’s candid about his physical limitations as he looks to break the all-time record for consecutive Masters cuts made.
“My practice sessions certainly aren't what they used to be. I used to live on the range or live on a short game facility and just be out there all day. That's no longer the case. So I just have to be more focused on when I do get a chance to go out there and practice and really grind out and make every shot count because I just really don't have the ball count in me anymore. So those adaptations… hopefully I've made them for this week.”
Viktor Hovland (+3300)
The current FedExCup champion was on everyone’s lips late last year but some coaching changes and far from great results to start this season have him outside the radar for most pundits. As he continues to work through some changes, he’s not the smiling assassin most are used to.
“Your confidence level is going to be a little bit different than when you don't have any conscious thoughts. That's obviously the end goal when you play this game, is that you show up and you go through your routine and there's almost, like, a blackout. You just react to what you're doing and you see the shots, and the ball flight translates into what you're seeing. That's the goal,” Hovland explained.
Will Zalatoris (+4000)
A former runner-up at the Masters, Zalatoris is happy to be in the field after having to eject pre-tournament a year ago to ultimately get back surgery. He’s posted up top-fives at Riviera and Bay Hill this season.
“My mom actually reminded me this is one year to the day from the surgery, so kind of a fun day to kind of come back and play and play nine holes with Tiger this morning (Monday), a guy who has really helped me a lot I guess with the rehab of coming back from my surgery,” Zalatoris said after a practice round with fellow sore back brother Tiger Woods.
“I feel great. This is the best I've felt… I think the best way to put it is I kept thinking I was at 100% as I've come back, and each month I've picked up a little more speed, had a little more endurance.”
Ludvig Åberg (+2800)
The lowest-priced major debutant ever on a betting board, Åberg is in the crazy position of having won a PGA TOUR and DP World Tour event and a Ryder Cup before even playing in a major! Can he become the first major rookie to win in nearly 50 years?
“I've had a lot of firsts over the last couple of months. Once again, I'm trying to embrace it. I'm not trying to push it away. I'm not trying to fight it. I think that's one of the key things.
And I remember back in last year when we played in Rome, that was a big first as well. And that was very nerve-wracking, but it was also very cool experience and something that taught me a lot that week,” Åberg said.
“I think a lot of those experiences that I'll have in the next couple of months will be very similar, and I think I'm just trying to learn from it, try to have fun. And whether you like it or not, it is going to be different. But it's also just golf, and it's just me and my 14 clubs, I guess.”
Jason Day (+6600)
A runner-up in his debut Masters with three further top-10s on top, Day was the first player to register for this year’s tournament. But the reason – he needed the practice.
“Essentially, I was battling a two-way miss with my shoulders getting a little bit too horizontal or parallel to the ground. Once I start to rotate, my shoulders kind of level to the ground, my arms kind of go away from my body and I kind of dump it in the turf and I get like a right and a left.
“When I try and hit a draw and I miss it right, I don't want to do that, then I get the pull hook left. Essentially, I'm just trying to stay better in the spine angle but get a little bit more pitch through my shoulders. That way my right arm can go under my body a little bit better.”
Rickie Fowler (+12500)
With five top-12 finishes at the Masters to his name, Fowler returns for the first time since 2020. While he held the 54-hole lead at the U.S. Open last year he was unable to close it out and knows his window to claim a major shrinks each year.
“(My game) hasn't been great as of late. I haven't been driving it well, and that's something when you're not driving it well, you're kind of starting from behind the eight-ball. I feel like we're starting to get that sorted, and excited to be back in a good spot,” Fowler said.

Charity Lawson Takes Us Inside New York Bridal Fashion Week
The former “Bachelorette” star, who met her fiancé Dotun Olubeko on Season 20 of ABC’s dating show, attended runway shows and dress fittings in preparation for her wedding next year.

Charity Lawson earned a reputation of being a sweetheart after starring in the 20th season of “The Bachelorette,” which ended in August with her engagement to Dotun Olubeko, an integrative medicine specialist.
Ms. Lawson, 28, seemingly always has a smile on her face. She knows what she likes and she does not put up with drama, a trait that was witnessed first hand this week amid the chaos that was New York Bridal Fashion Week — a chaos that this season was exacerbated by heavy rain and wind.
The three-day event, from April 2 to 4, was an opportunity for bridal designers to show their latest collections to journalists, buyers and, in Ms. Lawson’s case, a bride-to-be who is starting to look for dresses for her 2025 wedding.
She hopes to have a dress chosen by July for the wedding she is planning in California next fall, which will be followed by a traditional Nigerian celebration in Lagos, Nigeria, to honor her fiancé’s heritage.
Before becoming a “Bachelorette,” Ms. Lawson, 28, was a contestant on the 27th season of “The Bachelor,” which premiered in January 2023. Later that year, she appeared on season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars,” finishing in fourth place with her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev.
“It’s a lot,” Ms. Lawson, a former children’s therapist, said about appearing in back-to-back-to-back reality television shows broadcast last year. “I came into all of this quickly. I didn’t envision myself even being engaged.”
The New York Times followed her for two days during Bridal Fashion Week as she made her way to runway shows, presentations and private appointments around the city.
3:15 p.m.: Ines Di Santo Show and an Unplanned Interview
Ms. Lawson’s first Bridal Fashion Week stop was the Ines Di Santo runway show at Lavan, a venue in Midtown Manhattan. She was behind schedule, running on a few hours of sleep after a late-night flight from Los Angeles. The abysmal traffic she hit on the way to midtown from her brownstone near Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, where she moved in January, did not help.
She frantically rushed into the modern event space bathed in blue lights, which dimmed just as she took her front-row seat.
After the label’s eponymous designer ended the show with a bow, some guests rushed to greet Ms. Lawson. One asked if she had chosen her wedding gown yet. Others asked for photos. An editor offered to feature her on the cover of a magazine. And a tabloid reporter ambushed her, asking Ms. Lawson a jumble of questions about topics like her wedding date and if she has any “travel hacks.” (“I don’t,” Ms. Lawson said.)
“Very random questions,” she later said. “Anything to get a little headline. People want me to disclose our wedding day so bad — that is between me, my family and fiancé.”
Ms. Lawson left the venue during a torrential downpour, scurrying around in the rain as she tried to locate her Uber ride. The moment had all the elements of a classic rom-com scene. As she made her way into the car, the driver shouted, “Hurry up!”
“Welcome to New York,” she said jokingly.
4:30 p.m.: Letting Her Collarbones Shine at Rime Arodaky
Rime Arodaky, a French bridal designer, makes wedding dresses that exude French-girl cool. For a preview of her namesake label’s 2025 collection, Ms. Arodaky had filled her airy showroom in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan with her dainty designs.
Ms. Lawson browsed the garments and, after selecting five of her favorite pieces, went behind a curtain with Ms. Arodaky, who pinned the dresses to fit her frame.
After trying on a strapless pleated gown with a detachable scarf-sleeve, Ms. Lawson walked over to a big mirror and stepped onto an elevated platform.
“I’m obsessed,” she said. “This is a moment. It’s so romantic and elegant.” She struggled to peel herself away from the mirror.
It was the first wedding dress she had ever tried on.
She’s a fan of the sweetheart neckline: “I have good collarbones,” she said. “I’ve got to show the collarbones.”
2 p.m.: Tears at Francesca Miranda
Ms. Lawson’s second day of Bridal Fashion Week began with an appointment with Francesca Miranda, a designer in Barranquilla, Colombia, who arrived in New York just days before she presented her collection.
Ms. Lawson selected six dresses from the racks full of items that the designer had arranged in a large, rustic studio in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.
As she tried them on, she honed in on elements she preferred: strapless or off-the-shoulder sleeves; ivory shades instead of snow-white; and definitely no ball-gown silhouettes.
Ms. Lawson said that she thinks some people see her as a Disney princess.
“But that’s not who I am,” she said. “I don’t want my wedding day to be costume-y.”
She tried on a feathered pantsuit, which she thought was well-suited for her bachelorette or rehearsal dinner. “It’s bridal meets Cher,” said Daniella Jassir, Ms. Miranda’s daughter and the marketing director for her mother’s namesake brand.
Another piece — a long-sleeve illusion dress with a detachable tulle-organza overskirt — was completely out of Ms. Lawson’s comfort zone. When Ms. Miranda and Ms. Jassir fastened the matching veil in her hair, Ms. Lawson took a peek in a mirror and shed tears.
After gently wiping them away, she said, “Mark this as a favorite.”
3:30 p.m.: Matcha Break and a Tour at Nardos
Ms. Lawson wore a black trench coat, a printed mock neck dress and pointy vinyl boots for her second day of bridal fashion week. After getting caught in the rain in open-toe shoes the day before, she had learned her lesson, she said.
She took an afternoon break from her schedule of appointments and presentations at a coffee shop, where she ordered an iced matcha latte and a croissant. After taking a seat by the shop’s foggy windows, she reflected on her tearful moment while trying on the Francesca Miranda gown.
“It was hitting me, it’s happening,” Ms. Lawson said. “I look like a bride. I feel like a bride.”
She left the coffee shop and hopped into a cab. On the ride she played a string of twangy songs from “Cowboy Carter,” Beyoncé’s latest album, from her phone through the car’s stereo.
“I’m not really a country girl, but Southern by upbringing,” said Ms. Lawson, who was raised in Columbus, Ga. “This was the perfect combo,” she added of the album. “A little touch of the South, a touch of the country.”
About forty minutes later, she was greeted by the bridal designer Nardos Imam at Ms. Imam’s three-story salon on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The designer’s new collection for her brand, Nardos, was displayed on the ground floor, with a few models roaming around in some of her latest designs.
“Her stuff gives more couture,” Ms. Lawson said after a tour of the salon. “Very high end. I like the drama of couture.”
She took a few mirror selfies, looked at a few more dresses and posed for photos with a few more starry-eyed fans before making her way to her final event.
5 p.m.: A Collection of Favorites at Esé Azénabor
Ms. Lawson’s last Bridal Fashion Week event might have been the one she was most excited for: The designer Esé Azénabor ’s presentation at her Madison Avenue flagship boutique. Ms. Azénabor, who is Nigerian, has a cult following, particularly among brides of color. Her namesake label is also a favorite of Ms. Lawson’s mother-in-law.
The boutique had been reconfigured for a runway show, with seats for about 60 guests. Models walked onto an elevated platform one by one, with Ms. Azénabor popping up a number of times to unpin detachable trains, veils, tops and skirts. One such element was a silk mikado ball skirt attached to an off-the-shoulder top that, when unpinned, transformed the garment from a gown to a jumpsuit finished with pearls and crystals.
Ms. Lawson, watching with wide eyes and an open mouth, let out an audible gasp.
The 20-minute show was full of embellishments and bling. “Don’t ask me which one’s my favorite,” Ms. Lawson said after the presentation. “All of them.”
She excitedly told Ms. Azénabor about her future husband and their shared Nigerian background. “His mother loves your work,” Ms. Lawson said.
“You all have to come to the store,” Ms. Azénabor said. “When it looks like a store.”
Ms. Lawson replied, “I’m in New York, so I will be back.”

Curb Your Enthusiasm 's Final Larry David/Jerry Seinfeld Punch Line Was a Last-Minute Larry/Jerry Improv
By Frazier Tharpe
This interview contains spoilers for the series finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm .
Larry David’s days of terrorizing Brentwood are over. Sunday’s Curb Your Enthusiasm series finale closed the curtain on 12 seasons worth of misanthropic misadventures—and as predicted , the real-life Larry ended the whole affair by orchestrating a redux of his last, highly divisive television series finale .
Below, longtime co-writer/executive producer and director Jeff Schaffer and day-one Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Susie Essman—who portrays Larry’s poetically profane, sartorially ambitious frienemy Susie Greene—convene to talk about the big Seinfeld plot, the punchline Larry and Jerry came up with on the spot, and just how sentimental the bald guy is about his nearly 25-year long labor of love coming to an end.
How are you guys feeling in terms of the finale reactions so far?
Susie Essman: I don't read any reviews or anything, but friends are loving it. I'm getting a lot of good texts.
Jeff Schaffer: I watched the show with Larry last night and he was happy. I think “content” is the right word. It was satisfying. Through editing, we've watched this episode in parts billions of times. But there's something about watching it the way everyone else watches. It makes it feel real. And I think people liked it. I'm really happy. I'm also happy that we don't have to hide what we were doing anymore.
SE: No more lies and deception.
Well, to that point, I don't know if you saw, but we actually ran a piece here where I predicted that that's what you guys were up to around week two or three.
JS: That was you?
It was. Sorry.
JS: No, no. It was a good article. I remember reading that and being like, Oh, you're onto it . So wait, then—let me ask you a question. So when Larry was in jail and he's doing the pants tent, when we start to pull back… did you think that was going to be the end?
Yeah, I thought that was it. I'd just re-watched the Seinfeld finale, and I was like, All right, there’s the same camera pull-back … And then the twist actually surprised me.
JS: Great. That was exactly the point. When we realized we were going to do this story, we went back into episodes and started to seed things about the Seinfeld finale, like Ted [Danson] talking to Larry about it and those kind of things. We were leaving breadcrumbs, but I don't think we realized that once we even mentioned the word “trial,” that everybody [would start] to think about it. And at first we were like, "Oh, shoot. We didn't hide our hand well enough." But then we very quickly realized, This is great. Let everyone think it—let everyone think that they're getting pranked in slow motion over the course of nine episodes .
Once again, Larry David ends his popular comedy series in the courtroom, this time with a twist.
So when did you guys decide that this is what you wanted to do? And was it almost an exorcism for Larry in a way, to go back to this divisive thing and take another swing at it?
JS: Ending a show is tricky, and you want to end funny. And so we knew we were doing this water story, so a trial is a possible outcome. Or it doesn't go to trial—Trump's getting out of four of them, somehow. Things can happen. Actually, we were just talking about a story about Larry not wanting to get involved with a kid's lesson. And we're acting out the scene a little bit and Larry says, "I'm 75 years old. I've never learned a lesson in my life." And we're like, "Oh, okay. What if we just own this? Then we can do the trial. How can we do the trial? Because we just say Larry's never learned a lesson and we're going to give you the Seinfeld finale on steroids . You didn't like it? We don't care. Here it is again. We're going to shove it in your face. We're even ending with a pull-out [shot of Larry] in jail—until we don't."
And so that was very freeing, because now we have a structure and it gives us a chance to bring some of these old people back. But also, once we were in on the joke, it's not just about this show. It becomes about Larry a little bit, right?
And I think that was what was really cool. This is really about him and how he views [the world]. Baked into his DNA is, I'm a contrarian . That's why the show is so great. This [finale] got to be about something bigger than the show. It got to be about Larry.
Like a final statement on Larry the character.
Who came up with the idea to not just repeat the Seinfeld ending but then add that twist? Was that always in play, or was that a last minute addition?
JS: Once we started going on this path, we knew we were going to take it right up to that end and then [a] Curb story had to kick in again, right? The bad sequester was going to come back. A Curb story was going to come back around. We knew that we were going to take everybody right to the brink and then have Jerry say, "You don't want to end up like this. Trust me. No one wants to see it." But the idea of Larry and Jerry saying, "This is how we should have ended the finale"—that part came as we were shooting.
SE: That's the joy of working this way—the surprises that come up.
What I really liked about the episode was that you have the trial and you have all the cameos and all the flashy stuff, but at the core it was just like a classic Curb episode with classic Curb bits. Specifically, I feel like we don't get the Larry and Susie team up that often. So when we do, it's a real treat, and your scheme here actually reminded me of “The Ski Lift.”

SE: Yeah, when I had to play his wife. I thought the same thing. Larry always says it's one of his favorite scenes in one of his favorite episodes. Having to play his Orthodox wife was just one of the most fun scenes we ever shot.
JS: I'm glad you noticed that. It was really, really important for us that it wasn't just our cast sitting in a trial, but that we had stories, Curb stories with fun Curb moments for our Curb cast woven through the show. And the stories actually propel the show. Not the flashbacks. Not the trial. That was the thing we worked the hardest at that I'm actually the most satisfied about, is that it's a Curb episode. Not a clip show.
SE: And these two, Larry and Jeff, the brilliance of them of being able to figure those things out—it looks so organic when you see the episode. But there's painstaking work that goes behind it of trying to figure out how to weave all these storylines together and the flashbacks and the finale and the ending and Journey Gunderson, and all of that stuff.
JS: Susie had another big moment in the middle [of the episode]. It was super funny, but the story wasn't quite right and it wasn't happening in the court. And we actually did a re-shoot so that her being in the wheelchair intersected with her [original moment] in court now. It makes the court feel like it's part of the story, not like some separate thing.
Larry David calls him indispensable. Richard Lewis told him he was “a fucking beast” as a comic actor. But as he prepares to say goodbye to the show that made him an out-of-nowhere comedy star in his 40s, Smoove is facing forward: “I'm still fresh…. I can work with anybody, I can do anything.”
Were there other story beats or character beats that you had always wanted to try that you were maybe trying to get in this episode or this final season that you just didn't have time for?
SE: There was another storyline that we shot of mine that just wasn't gelling. It was more of a storyline to give me something funny. And the idea of it was funny, but it just wasn't moving the story forward, I think. Is that correct, Jeff?
JS: Yeah. And so then we got her big funny moment that moves the story forward because it happened in court. But I was about to say to you, we don't really think like that, like, "Oh, there's this moment that we want to get in, so let's force it in here." Because it really depends on exactly what Susie said: what's moving the story forward?
But to contradict myself twice in this episode alone, Larry had this funny thing about dating the bearded woman once she shaved and he'd wanted to talk about that. It's something that we had talked about as we were writing in many different episodes, and I'm so glad we saved it because it was the perfect thing for Larry and Jerry to talk about, a real coffee shop hypothetical.
And watching these two just talk about an idea and giving you a glimpse of what it must've been like for them to create Seinfeld and what it's like for these two to work together. And then the other thing. The final scene of this show—arguing about who gets to control the plane window—we shot that scene twice. We shot it in season nine, we shot it in season 11, and we cut it both times. It was extra. It was an extra thing. And we knew we wanted a scene at the end on the plane, something they could all be arguing about. We're like, "Oh my God, it finally fits." So there are things that we've hung onto, that we've liked, but if it doesn't fit the pace, it goes.
SE: I think the thing about Curb that people don't realize is how much it's about story and how the outlines are all about moving the story forward. So there's plenty of stuff. Over the years, I'll see brilliant improvs that I did that are cut out because they were funny, but they didn't move the story forward. And that's the key. That's the brilliance of Jeff and Larry I think, really ultimately is their sense of story.
I really loved how, before all the dialogue starts overlapping, Susie gets the last clear line with “Go back to jail, Larry.” Just a perfect end note.
SE: Go back to fucking jail, Larry. [laughs]
Jeff, you mentioned watching with Larry last night. Did you guys have a watch party or was it just private?
JS: Oh, no. It was Larry and his wife and his daughter and my wife and I just watching at Larry's house.
I ask because the featurette that you guys put out this morning, it seemed like Larry had a rare moment of real emotion peeking through when you yell cut on the final scene, so I was wondering if he’s being more sentimental about it than we may think.
JS: You mean him making a face and slinking out like, "I don't want to be here"? It was as unemotional as you might expect from the two of us. Larry's daughter hadn't seen the episode yet. It's so fun to watch with someone who's seeing it for the first time, hearing the laughs and seeing that it worked. He was satisfied and I was satisfied.
SE: He texted me this morning that he felt very satisfied, and that made me happy.
