Where should we begin about the innumerable charms of Uzbekistan? Perhaps with the shimmering turquoise mosaics and bulbous blue-painted domes of Samarkand, the mysterious city of Timur in the east? Maybe with the UNESCO-attested madrassas of Bukhara, the mighty cultural melting pot of the ancient Silk Road? Khiva’s adobe homes and arabesque crenulations are a mind-boggling sight for sure, while the wild foxes and snow leopards, high mountain pastures and snow-topped peaks of the Ugam-Chatkal and Tien Shan can’t be overlooked either (literally!).

There’s so much nestled in this Central Asian nation, that it’s easy to see why travellers are wowed here. There’s history, millennia of it in fact going through Alexander the Great to the Mongol Hordes and the Russian Empire. There’s culture by the bucket load too, oozing from every crevice and filigree of mosques and madrassahs, or each aromatic spice stall in every souk and tchai (tea) house from Urgench to Shahrisabz. There’s modernism too, rising high in symphony with the oil and mineral booms around Tashkent, the capital.

The group size on this tour can vary with the maximum of 16 people and an average of 12 people per tour.

Accommodation is based on twin-share accommodation, so if you are a solo traveller you will share a room with another traveller of the same gender. However, if you would prefer your own private room this can be arranged by paying a single supplement, if you would like to arrange this please choose this option on the booking page or by contacting our team of travel experts.

Airport transfers are not included in the tour price however once you have a confirmed booking an arrival transfer can be organised for an additional cost by contacting our team of travel experts and a departure transfer can be booked whilst you are on the tour with the tour leader.

Of course, we can! Once you have a confirmed booking on this tour, we can request additional accommodation for you with G Adventures at their preferred hotel.

All accommodations are subject to change until 4-6 weeks before the departure date and due to this G Adventures do not provide a hotel list until you receive the final travel documents. However, you will enjoy staying in a mixture of hotels, yurt and sleeper train for a true Uzbekistan experience.

As a tour booking website, TourRadar cannot organise visas for you on your behalf as the visa requirements are regularly being updated and vary for the nationality of one traveller to the next. It is for this reason that we recommend checking with your local embassy or consulate website for the latest up to date information.

The tour ends in Tashkent after breakfast on the last day, you can choose to leave the tour at anytime on this day as there are no activities planned.

The tour starts from a centrally located hotel in Tashkent which will be confirmed when you receive your travel documents (Hotel Uzbekistan or similar). The first day is just an arrivals day so you can arrive at any time and explore the city before your welcome meeting in the evening at approximately 6 pm.

As a traveller from USA, Canada, England, South Africa you will need an adaptor for types C, E, F, I. As a traveller from Australia, New Zealand you will need an adaptor for types C, E, F.

• These are only indications, so please visit your doctor before you travel to be 100% sure.
• Typhoid - Recommended for Uzbekistan. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
• Hepatitis A - Recommended for Uzbekistan. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
• Tuberculosis - Recommended for Uzbekistan. Ideally 3 months before travel.
• Hepatitis B - Recommended for Uzbekistan. Ideally 2 months before travel.
• Rabies - Recommended for Uzbekistan. Ideally 1 month before travel.
• Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
• Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
• For any tour departing before 17th June 2024 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after 17th June 2024, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with G Adventures. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
• Some departure dates and prices may vary and G Adventures will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
