It’s time to visit California’s Delta! Whether you are looking for a day trip from San Francisco, a regular fishing spot, or you’re an out-of-state visitor who’s not sure where to go or what to do, we have something for you!

Review of delta app.

My original flight 3/9 was canceled from JAX to RIC via LGA and Delta rescheduled me on another flight via JFK. Then my departure from JAX to JFK was delayed so much so that my arrival into RIC was being further pushed back. I was given the option to change my flight at no cost which I opted to do but I was not able to see what seats were available. I thought at some point I would be given the option to see available seats prior to finalizing the change but that never occurred. After accepting the change I found I didn’t have a seat assignment on the departure and I was assigned a middle seat (which I despise) on the connection. A passenger should be given the option to see what seats are available before making a change. I can assure you had I known prior to accepting the change that I would have to wait to be assigned a seat at the airport and that I would only have a middle seat on the connection I would not have changed from the rescheduled flight. Then to add insult to injury I used points to sit in Delta comfort from JAX to LGA because of the length of the flight. I no longer want to use points on either leg of the flights via ATL and I sincerely hope my points will be deposited back into my account. I had aisle seats (which I prefer) on both my original flights and I’m very disappointed I don’t have them on either flight tomorrow. I apologize for such a lengthy message; I didn’t expect to have to deal with flight changes that would disrupt my trip.

Change of flight times

After several lights changes since the time I originally booked, my international layover went from 1 hour and 45 minutes to only 40 minutes. A 45 minute layover for an international connection is not enough time, especially as I am flying with a family of five, this forced asked to switch flights. In doing so, I lost the upgraded seats I initially used points for. This would not have been a big deal, but it is highly disappointing that delta would not reimburse you for the points lost due to a change on their end. This policy really needs changed. In addition, the four hour plus waiting to talk to a representative force me to try to utilize the chat function. Even though I know I was able to speak to somebody relatively quickly, I made it all the way to having new flights but the person I was talking to left the chat. Waited a while and then the screen turned out causing me to start over. OK I thought, disappointing but just a fluke, but what do you know it happened again. The second time, I am mediately typed “representative“ and then we can immediately going through the process with a third agent. At least this time all the previous chat information was still up for her to review instead of starting back from scratch. The system need some bugs worked out, it’s also very hard to read on an iPhone.

Unable to upgrade

I had an opportunity to upgrade for a flight and was traveling with another individual. On my app, the seats weren’t available, but was showing availability for who I was traveling with. I tried contacting Delta to discuss the problem and they were unsuccessful with helping and said that they couldn’t see any availability from their end and to check the website. The person that I was traveling with was able to see availability and called to request the seats since we were both traveling on the same flight together. We were told that they would give us a voluntary change since it didn’t show availability on my app. The person I was traveling with didn’t have medallion status and was able to see first class tickets available for the first leg of the international flight, but wasn’t able to upgrade to first class on the flight home. However, I was given the option to upgrade to first class on the last portion of my flight instead of the international portion. I then was told that in order to upgrade, I would have to upgrade the entire flight. I thought that was ridiculous because I didn’t have to do that going on my trip. I had regular seating and then first class for the longer portion of the trip. I should be able to upgrade regardless if it’s available on another person’s app and we are traveling together and both AREN’T MEDALLION MEMBERS. How ridiculous…

From booking a flight to navigating your day of travel, Delta’s popular Fly Delta app is our customers’ everyday travel companion. And this summer, Fly Delta is further simplifying your journey and giving you the flexibility to manage your travel plans with ease, including a redesigned SkyMiles account page, real-time Delta Sky Club occupancy tracking and Spanish-language content.

“The Fly Delta app is creating deeper connections with our customers by making travel more seamless, personalized and flexible,” said Eric Phillips – S.V.P. and Chief Digital Officer. “With notifications for check-in and boarding to finding connecting gate information via maps customers are able to manage their travel with confidence and ensure every customer feels in control over their own journey.”

Whether you are a Million Miler or first-time traveler, download the app for iOS on the App Store or Android on Google Play, and read on for tips that make the app a must-have for summer travel.

STEP ONE: START WITH TODAY

Tap the Today tab for a one-stop, real-time view of your journey, including your mobile boarding pass, flight status, gate information and airport wayfinding. Start your trip on the right foot with the ability to effortlessly check in, select your seat and directly track your bags. And starting June 21, the Fly Delta app is now available to customers in Spanish, offering the same powerful tools to navigate their journey on Delta.*

Need assistance or additional services during travel? No problem. Tap the “Select Services” button to add dietary restrictions, request mobility assistance, or let us know if you are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, or traveling with an infant. Using the app to share this information with us ahead of time ensures we are prepared to best assist you across your journey.

Making changes to your itinerary in the app is easy, too. We updated the Today experience to provide a more intuitive and visually appealing layout that allows you to manage all travel segments from one screen.

Feel like treating yourself? Upgrading your seat is easy in the app. Simply tap the seat map for your flight to see what premium seating options are available. 1

STEP TWO: TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS

The app was built with the unexpected in mind, too. Mobile notifications keep you updated on any changes that may impact your journey, including departure or arrival time changes, gate changes, boarding group notifications, bag updates and more. Use the app to stay updated on the status of your inbound plane as well as onboard amenities. Notifications alert customers when their aircraft arrives at its departure gate and when boarding begins.

Before you embark on your journey, visit your device’s Settings app to ensure Fly Delta app notifications are enabled. Check your device's sleep mode settings, too, to avoid notifications being silenced. 2

STEP THREE: TRACK YOUR SKYMILES STATUS AND MORE

Tracking and understanding your SkyMiles Medallion status is easy in Fly Delta. We recently introduced a redesigned Account page in the app to give customers an at-a-glance view of their SkyMiles account. Tap the Account tab to quickly see your current Medallion status and discover your benefits, view miles available and easily track progress toward earning Status in the upcoming year.

Working toward Million Miler status? View your lifetime MQM balance from the new page as well. Maybe one day you’ll catch Todd !

STEP FOUR: VISIT A DELTA SKY CLUB

Once you’ve checked in, dropped your bags and passed through security, it’s time to relax and recharge at a Delta Sky Club. Tap “More” and select “Delta Sky Club” to find a nearby Club or Partner Lounge at your airport of choice. Read more on how to access Delta Sky Clubs .

Late last year, we introduced a new occupancy indicator to give you a real-time view of which Clubs are experiencing high customer volumes. Clubs will display four occupancy levels ranging from “not busy” to “extremely busy” to help you better plan your visits. Once you’ve determined the Club you’d like to visit, tap the description for directions and easy-to-use wayfinding functionality to help you get there.

STEP FIVE: ENJOY YOUR TRIP

While Fly Delta was built to be your ultimate travel companion, the value of the app goes well beyond your current journey. Use the app to plan your next trip by exploring popular destinations, comparing fare deals in money or miles, booking multi-city itineraries and accessing tools for inspiration that make the app a key part of any adventure.

New fast, free Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile on more routes, curated in-flight entertainment experiences, seasonally-inspired food and beverage options, and stunning new Delta Sky Clubs await as you travel this summer on Delta.

*Customers looking to take advantage of the Fly Delta app in Spanish should ensure the language preference on their phone is set to Spanish and that they have the latest version of the app installed (v5.34). The Fly Delta app will automatically update to display content in Spanish , including key day-of-travel features such as Login, My Trips, Check-in, Today Mode and SkyMiles account pages. The Spanish-language experience will be available on Apple iOS and Android devices. While in-app experiences will continue to be enhanced, some areas of the app will remain mostly English for the time being, including notifications.
