The only tour with 2 stops, including Witches Gulch

I was with my husband and 2 teens. Since the weather was a bit chilly, I let my kids decide on what they wanted to do, and to my surprise, they chose this 2 hour tour. I was thrilled that I wasn't going to get wet, and pleasantly surprised that they chose this over a jet boat. When we saw how full the first boat was, we decided to wait for the next boat. Worth it! We were able to sit on the top at the front and enjoy all the scenery. You are able to keep your seats for the whole trip, so you don't have to worry about losing your seats at the stops. The guides were young, high school and college aged, and full of "cheesy" jokes, which my kids enjoyed. The first stop was at Witches Gulch, which is beautiful and made the trip worth it. Next stop was Stand Rock, and was only a few minutes after the first stop. Little tip :both have restrooms, but there was no line to go at Stand Rock because most of the people had gone at the Gulch stop, where there was a line. Overall, this tour was our favorite stop in the Dells, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Took a tour of the Lower Dells and could say without a doubt that it was the highlight of the trip! The Lower Dells boat tour consists of a 7 plus round trip ride where you encounter the amazing sights and natural wonder of the sandstone formations. On our tour we even saw deer and a Great Blue Heron which was an added bonus. The Upper Dells tour includes a journey through Witches Gulch. Note that the starting point is different depending on which tour you are doing so make sure to get the correct address. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. Summer tours run daily every 30 to 45 minutes.

We were able to tour both the Lower Dells and Upper Dells. Both were great, but the Upper Dells had amazing sandstone formations, especially at the first stop for disembarkation. Our tour guides, Joe and Miles and Alex and Chianti, were excellent. They provided a lot of information and made it very entertaining. Even though it was chilly and threatening rain, it was still a relaxing and delightful tour.

The boat tour was a fun, leisurely way to discover the highlights of the river and the Dells formations. The tour guides offered commentary that was very informative and also entertaining. The tour had two stops for extra sightseeing, which also offered snack bars and bathroom breaks (very appreciated since the boats did not have bathroom facilities!). Both stops were interesting and great for photo enthusiasts! Highly recommend!

We never ended up getting to go on this tour because of poor communication from the company managing the tour ticket sales. We had a group of approximately 14 people in town for one day and we wanted to get on one of the tours. We approached one of the sales kiosks, slightly down the road from the Ripley's Believe it or Not! museum, and purchased tickets for the next available Lower Dells tour. The young employee working in the booth didn't tell us the time the tour would be going, but just gave us vague directions to go wait at a tour bus top about 50 yards away for our bus. This was at 4:18 p.m. At 4:19 p.m., as our group starts making it's way to the stop, we see a bus pulling away. A couple of people go to the restroom, assuming there will be another bus shortly. It's now 4:27 p.m. and we haven't seen a bus, so I go back to the kiosk and ask the employee when the bus is coming. He tells me (paraphrasing) 'oh you guys just missed it, and it's probably too late now to get you guys there as the tour starts at 4:30.' Our group returns to the kiosk and tries to figure out what to do, with very little help from this employee. He never told us when the tour would start and he told us the next one wasn't until 6:30 (which we couldn't wait for). He calls his bosses and essentially the best thing we get out of them is that we could pay to upgrade to an Upper Dells tour that goes at 5:30. A person in our group called the management team directly and we were able to convert our tickets to the duck rides instead, which ended up being an enjoyable experience. Ultimately, we felt better communication from the company (specifically, the kiosk employee) could've avoided the whole situation. If we'd known when the tours started, and if he had given us more specific instructions, we probably would've done the 5:30 tour and had no issues.

Bought tickets and were on our way within 20 minutes. The day began with lots of clouds and 65F weather. The boat we took, the Chicagoian , was comfortable, chairs on upper and lower decks. Even though there was the possibility of rain in the forecast, we sat on the upper deck. As it turned out, the only sprinkles we observed were as we docked at the end of the two hour tour. (At one time they had a 3-hour tour but that was a little intimidating for some). Our pilot, Hannah, and the tour guide, Christina, kept the trip interesting and fun. Two stops allowed us to disembark and visit a snack bar and restrooms. The unique geographic features of the river kept the cameras flashing. A six-dollar coupon from the many tourist brochures helps defray our cost of the trip (no senior discount). I imagine that the fall trips are amazing!
