Golf Holiday Belek Turkey

Asked Bradley Allmark from Your golf travel to look for a golf holiday in Belek Turkey. Sorted quickly. Brilliant hotel. Fantastic course. Couldn't find fault with anything. Cornelia Diamond Hotel was exceptional. Great food. Great service. Faldo courses attached to the hotel were great as were the Sueno Dunes and Pines golf courses he arranged as well. Will definitely be returning next year.

Adare Manor / Killarney

Adare Manor / Killarney We had the best weekend - Adare Manor is simply stunning, from the moment you drive in, the caddies are great, there is not one blade of grass out of place on the course and its on the most beutiful estate. Booked with Chris Alexander who was brilliant for us and created the best weekend away - we are really appreciative and will hopefully be able to repeat it soon!

Outstanding golf trip to Malaga!

We are a group of 6 lady golfers who booked a 5 day golf holiday to Malaga. I booked through Golf Travel and Glen was my contact and organiser of the holiday. He was pleasant and helpful from the beginning. The transfers to and from the hotel were flawless. The transfers to El Chapperel golf course weā€™re on time and drivers were so polite and helpful. The course was beautiful and a pleasure to play at. There was a lovely club where we enjoyed refreshments after our game! The hotel was spotless and rooms and beds very comfortable. The restaurant put on a buffet breakfast which had everything to suit anyones taste. We enjoyed a day off in sunny Malaga and a delicious lunch in Pimpis! The group are meeting soon to organise next years golfing trip with Golf Travel. Thank you Glen for organising a very enjoyable golfing holiday! We all enjoyed it very much and are looking forward to the next one with your company. Carol Downey.

Excellent service

Great service overall. Trine was lovely and really helpful. Went away as a group of 4 and everyone kept changing their minds about where to go. Trine was extremely patient and very happy to keep checking and sending different quotes. In the end, she managed to give us a better price with The Grove than going direct. Will definitely come to her again for our next trip

Mallorca Trip

Great courses, nice mix Transfers to and from courses made life easy, always on time and easy to find/locate If there were any issues they were sorted quickly by Curtis and team (ie no buggyā€™s at first course) Decent hotel for what we needed Curtis was helpful when booking the trip, all the boys wanted different things and he found a good overall holiday package for us Only negative was location, would have preferred to have been closer to Palma instead of Santa Ponsa

Amazing service from Bradley and Your Golf Travel.

Bradley went out of his way to create a very memorable trip for 8 of us to Puerto Banus. The courses and Hotel he picked for us were all excellent and the trip was all incredibly good value, so much so that other groups we chatted with on the holiday couldn't believe how much we had paid. Bradley went out of his way on Christmas Eve to get all the final details booked for us and even ended up staying past his home time to get it all through. I would recommend Bradley and Your Golf Travel to anyone looking to book a stress free golf trip away.

Fantastic company and would not hesitate to use again

We have just returned from a fantastic 5 nights golf trip to Turkey. Henry our contact at your golf travel was fantastic from beginning to end. His recommendations and responses to our queries was on point and made complete sense. The quality of the hotel, transportation and the courses we played were 5 star and could not fault any of it. There dedicated app for the trip allowed us to know every about our tee times and transportation. Upon returning we got a check in call from Henry to make sure everything was as expected. Fantastic customer service and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Booking staff Theo

Theo wortelhock was very knowledgeable and helpful while I made my booking. course and accommodation was amazing I will definitely be looking to book with you guys again ..

Awful customer service after booking.

I booked a group of 8ā€™s night away with two courses to be played for us. The tee times we booked were correct that we discussed. A couple of months later after all the group members had organised travel to the location. I was booking buggies with the two golf clubs and one of them said they had confirmed the tee time 2 hours earlier than I originally booked of 12:30. So it was a good job I rang by chance. I spoke to your golf travel 5 times about this issue as people were coming from all over the country. 4 people said they would get back to meā€¦. They never did. And the last one insisted that all had been corrected and that my tee time was the one on the booking confirmation. So I rang the club again to double check and it was still 10:30. So I may as well have booked the trip myself.

Very disappointed with the serviceā€¦

Very disappointed with the service weā€™ve received to date. Booked a golf holiday for 4 to the Algarve last June (2023) specifically to secure tee times at Quinta South etc only to be told last week that ā€œWe have heard from Quinta do Lago and unfortunately there is no availability on the South Course for a 4 ball on the 11th Mayā€. We contacted Quinta do Lago ourselves who told us that YGTs request for our tee time only came though on April 15th 2024 at 7.56pm! This is in addition to only recently being told that another one of our bookings - Dom Pedro Victoria - is actually closed for 2024!! Subsequent respectful emails asking for a plan of action as to how YGT are going to repair our holiday at such short notice have ALL gone unanswered. YGT claim to go the extra yard but we have seen very little evidence of this. I am happy to update my review dependent upon how YGT proceed from here. We will also be reaching out to joint founder of YGT, Andrew Harding, on LinkedIn. We are previous customers of YGT and expected more. We look forward to at least some response to our emails, inc those we have sent to Samantha and cs at yourgolftravel.com

Easy to book our golf break at Stā€¦

Easy to book our golf break at St Pierre through Your Golf Travel. Unfortunately there was a problem with our golf tee times-the golf course had no record of our booking for the first two rounds though had our 3rd round bookings. Also only one of the two courses was open which meant the Old Course was very busy.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. If you would like the Customer Experience Team to look into this in more detail for you please contact us at - [email protected], please remember to include our booking reference. Kind Regards Jessica

Excellent Service from yourgolftravel.com

I booked a 2 night, 3 rounds golf break through ā€˜your golf travelā€™ at Belton Woods Hotel and Spa near Grantham, Lincolnshire. From the outset, through to the trip, Theo and the team provided an excellent service to ensure that my trip went well. Thry booked the room and all my tee times and even booked a table for me for the evening meal. They responded quickly and professionally to all my queries. This was my first golf break and yourgolftravel.com took all the stress away from me. I would certainly recommend them and will look to use their services in the future. What was most reasonable to me was that, I thought, the cost would be much higher using a third party. This was not the case, yourgolftravel.com gave me the same price I would of been charged if Iā€™d booked directly through the hotel. Thank you Theo et al

Great Bucket List trip...

We really want to thank you for your professional help with our “bucket list” trip to The OPEN!

It was interesting to see how they do things so differently from what we are accustomed to at tournaments here in the States…loved the big screens on the lawn with the huge pillows!

Your help with the hotel was invaluable, the concierge there couldn’t have been more helpful not only while we were there, but previous to our trip in helping us make dinner / castle tour reservations!

We will highly recommend Your Golf Tours to anyone!

John Daly was great fun...

Thanks for giving us an amazing Open experience at St Andrews. The meet and greet with John Daly was great fun and easily amongst the best golf events we’ve been to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Myrtle beach travel, i’m flying into carolinas, will i need a rental car.

Without a doubt, a rental car is a great idea. There just arenā€™t a whole lot of taxis in the Myrtle Beach area and mass transportation is virtually non-existent. Golf Trek recommends that you check out the national car rental website, as internet specials normally offer the very best deal. All types of vehicles are available. Just keep in mind that ā€œvansā€ are at a premium in the Spring.

Will Golf Trek arrange their Air Travel for me?

Weā€™ve learned to do what we do best and that involves arranging the lodging and golf for our golfers. Your best bet if you know you want to fly into the Carolinas is to look at the various Internet travel sites, such as Orbitz.com, Expedia.com, Travelocity.com or call the airlines directly to get a plane ticket. We advise that you get the air schedule straightened out first prior to making the golf arrangements. When looking at airports, besides Myrtle Beach, you can also consider flying into Charleston, SC (1 1/2 hours south), Wilmington, NC (1 1/2 hours north, or even Florence, SC (1 1/4 hours west). We can arrange to have you play a round at a course not far from the airports on your way into the Myrtle Beach area. The same holds true for your flight back home.

Flying to Myrtle Beach

There are several new flights that fly directly into Myrtle Beach each season – VIEW FLIGHTS HERE.

your golf travel opening times

Your GolfMasters at Golf Trek receive many questions about flights to Myrtle Beach so we thought weā€™d give you a heads up on the current list of airlines servicing Myrtle Beach and what direct flights exist. We donā€™t book airline travel but we are very familiar with what is going on. Service is our priority.

The airport code for Myrtle Beach is MYR. Here are the airlines that service MYR and what direct flights exist. The related airport code follows the city name in ( ). Please keep in mind that some of the direct flights donā€™t fly everyday and some are on seasonal schedule basis. It is best to check with the airlines as schedules do change. This could impact your travel and golf in the Myrtle Beach area.

AIRPORT ALTERNATIVES

You can also check into the airfares to and from other airports that are within reasonable drive times of Myrtle Beach. These airports, their respective miles to central Myrtle Beach and the airlines that service them are:

  • Charleston, SC (chs), 103 miles
  • Florence, SC (flo), 67 miles
  • Columbia, SC (cae), 158 miles
  • Fayetteville, NC (fay), 130 miles
  • Wilmington, NC (ilm), 82 miles
  • Raleigh/Durham, NC (rdu), 210 miles

If your travels take you through an airport other than Myrtle Beach International, we can assist you with both golf and lodging to make your drive times even shorter in many instances. For example, if you come through Charlestonā€™s airport, we have lodging and golf courses both in the Charleston area and the southern part of the Myrtle Beach golf area. On the other hand, if you use either the Raleigh or Wilmington airport, we have lodging and courses you can consider on the northern end of the Myrtle Beach area (just below the city of Wilmington).

Talk with your GolfMaster about your travel arrangements and appropriate golf and lodging. There are many alternatives regarding lodging and golf to consider. We will do our best to help you have a wonderful and enjoyable golf experience in the Myrtle Beach area.

Play well and often !!!!

Why Double Tee?

If you owned a golf course would you only open 1/2 of your course? If a course (probably like your home course) books STRAIGHT THRU tee times with everyone teeing off on hole #1 that means the back nine holes will be closed for the first 2 1/2 hours in the morning.

Check out this article for more details of how the double tee is set up. Click here.

Our Spouses Don’t Play Golf, How much will their trip cost?

Spouses will not be charged for any golf if they donā€™t play; therefore, we will gladly arrange a price for any non-golfer based on lodging only, as long as there are some golfers in the group. Non-golfers will be charged a cart fee at the course if they ride along at the golf course.

Tee Time Scheduling

TEE TIME SCHEDULING? Tee times are normally scheduled 8 minutes apart. This equates to 7 tee times per hour or 17 tee times during the morning from 7:00 am to 9:20 am. 17 tee times off hole #1 and 17 tee times off hole #10 are double teed. Depending upon daylight, tee times are then rescheduled in the afternoon. Shorter daylight means fewer tee times in the afternoon in November, December, January and February. Tee times will run from noon until 1:00-1:30 pm. As daylight lengthens, tee times will be scheduled from noon to 2:30 pm. Tee Times are open to booking one year in advance. PLANNING as far in advance will help you secure your preferred course(s).

Are there Replays Available?

Are subject to availability on the day you play. To increase your chance of replay, play early, 1st out is 1st back in and has 1st chance of replayā€¦. Choose courses that have multiple courses or sister courses nearby. Play courses where local members donā€™t take the majority of the afternoon timesā€¦ or get a guaranteed replay with a Golf Trek Guaranteed afternoon Tee Time. Give your GolfMaster a call to explore your possibilities.

Is It Possible To Play 2 Rounds A Day?

The Key in playing 2 rounds on the same day is IF you have time to actually PLAY 2 courses, eat lunch and travel between the courses. Youā€™ve got to start early in the morning. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME STARTS the 2nd Sunday in March and ENDS the FIRST Sunday in November. DAYLIGHT in FEBRUARY, MARCH and NOVEMBER is RESTRICTED. If you plan on a 4 1/2 hour round in the AM and a 5 hour round in the PMā€¦then youā€™ve got time in between for lunch and travel. Most courses open at 7:30 AM in February and March. PLAN WISELY.

32 Essential Items To Take With You On A Golf Trip

There are few things more frustrating than turning up at a destination for a few days and realising you have forgotten one of the key things you wanted to use or enjoy while away. It’s too late to go back and fetch it, and even if a replacement is available at your location, there’s the cost to consider, and you don’t really want two of whatever it is when you finally get back home. Clearly it’s best to consider anything you might need before you pack, and make sure you don’t leave anything important behind.

A golfer walking into an airport with the Titleist Players Travel Cover

Even if you aren’t taking the plane, a flight bag is really useful to keep all your precious golfing gear together and to keep it separate from that of any travelling companions. Research into which is best for you is easy as they vary enormously in specification and price, and a perfect starting point is to check out reviews on the Golf Monthly website before choosing the one that is right for you.

Phone Charger and Mains Adapter

Phone Charger

It’s all very well remembering your most vital aide to everyday life, the ubiquitous mobile phone, but it won’t be much good from the second day onwards if you haven’t brought its charger. Equally important for all of your technological devices if you’re overseas is an adapter that fits whichever socket is on offer in your hotel room.

Water Bottle

Golfer with water bottle

It’s all too easy to go out on the course without sufficient liquid refreshment, particularly if you are somewhere hot and dry, so taking plenty of water with you is highly recommended. While many clubs that cater for tourists have drinks trolleys and halfway houses, this can never be guaranteed, and reducing the demand for single-use plastic bottles is always a good thing. In addition, you are on holiday, and so might just be a little dehydrated from the night before!

Your ‘A’ Game

Golfer celebrating

If you’re going on tour with a bunch of friends and you want to put on a good show and be competitive, it’s worth putting in the grind before you go. You don’t want to be the one who comes last and has to organise the next tour, and you don’t want to be the one who is the butt of the jokes in the group. Preparation and practice will help you make a great trip even better.

Golfer with sunglasses

Even on a more overcast day, there are plenty of places in the world where sunglasses will help to abolish glare and help you keep an eye on the flight of your golf ball. Sitting with a drink after your round, especially by the pool or close to water, you will want to do your best to look like George Clooney… or Rory!

Lucky Ballmarker

Ballmarkers

Many golfers are superstitious, and while it may instead be a lucky headcover or a trinket given to you by one of your children, there is a definite benefit in surrounding yourself with things that make you feel good and give you a lift. A ballmarker from your favourite course, or one where you shot your best score, could be just the thing.

CDH Number/Handicap Certificate

Handicap Certificate

Whether you are playing in a competition or simply having fun ticking off a course that has been on your list for a long time, you need to know the correct number of shots you are receiving in order to score properly. The World Handicap System was instituted in 2020 and means that you can take your handicap index with you wherever you go. It might even be a requirement at some clubs.

Holiday book

While there are some golfing destinations where good weather is pretty much guaranteed, there are plenty more where the conditions on the day cannot be predicted. An alternative pastime is useful, just in case, and a good book is something you can easily keep with you and enjoy at any time. You might even want to take one that is not about golf!

Restaurant/Pub Guide

Restaurant Guide

Researching and booking restaurants and pubs before you go pays dividends, but not everything goes according to plan and having a back-up source of information is always a useful thing. A physical guide can be useful, but there are countless sources on the internet, often with easy links to make bookings, but again it is best to have a list of these bookmarked before you go.

Casual Clothes

Casual clothing

Golfing fashion has improved out of all recognition in the last couple of decades. Gone are the days of diamond patterned jumpers and baggy trousers, and modern golf wear can often look as good away from the course as on it. However, you also want to dress in the evening and days off in clothing that makes you completely comfortable and doesn’t remind you of the 24 points you scored earlier, so a selection of non-golfing clothing is always a good thing to take.

Toiletries/Medicines

Toiletries

For all golfers, remembering to pack daily necessities such as toothbrush and paste, shaving gear and make-up almost goes without saying, But it is also advisable to take something in case of an upset stomach or headache, sunburn, or even - heaven forbid - a hangover. Preparing for all such eventualities, and for coming to the rescue for your more forgetful friends, is a great idea.

US Passport

We all know someone who has turned up at an airport or at the docks with either no passport, or that of another family member which they hadn’t checked. This is a fundamental requirement for all international golf, but still one that occasionally escapes the travelling golfer. Once at your destination, this can stay in the safe until it is time to come home. You may also need your driving licence.

Tablet/Laptop

Laptop and tablet

While your phone is likely to have all that you need to conduct your trip and entertain you, there is one small drawback, especially for those of a certain age. Screen size! Taking a tablet such as an iPad, or a laptop, will enable you to enjoy photos, video and films while keeping up to date with email and other messaging tools so that you don’t return to an overload of items that need a reply.

Mobile Phone

Mobile phone

For those who are travelling light, perhaps on just a short trip for a night or two, then mobiles have the ability to store and process all the data you could possibly need to have a successful break. Setting up a WhatsApp group for those in your party means you can easily stay in touch and compare scores, while you can pay your green fees or buy drinks with just your handset. What will they think of next?!

Sun Protection

Sun cream

The dangers, short- and long-term, of exposure to the sun are well documented. It is usually possible to suffer from too much sun just about anywhere there is a golf course. It is therefore always advisable to keep some protection in your travel bag so that you cannot leave it behind, and use it anytime you are heading out to set a new course record. Best to apply well before playing so that your hands can dry.

Plasters For Blisters

Blister

Whether or not you have new shoes, you are likely to be playing more golf than usual when on a trip, and so blisters can occur even when wearing a pair of old dependables. A trip is not the time to introduce a new pair of Footjoys, so make sure you can keep playing comfortably by taking plasters and cream for any niggling blisters.

Compact Camera

While your phone undoubtedly has a camera, you may well be using it to score or as a course planner, and so having a compact camera on hand is just the thing for capturing that group photo, the moment the sun beams gather over that beautiful green, or the grin on your playing partner’s face when he records his first hole-in-one.

Reserve/Back-Up Course Info

Golf Monthly Website

Even the most meticulously planned trip can throw something unexpected into the mix - a sudden course closure or a travel delay that keeps you from your destination. Having access to information on alternative courses is a really good idea, and there are many online golf course guides and printed course guides available such as the courses section on the Golf Monthly website where you can delve into the Top 200 courses in the UK&I or look at the many county and themed guides.

Golf towel

Easily overlooked, especially when taking a bag you don’t normally use, this is a vital item for drying or cleaning your golf ball or equipment, and even yourself. Weather is not a consideration here as the driest golf courses are watered, we all occasionally have to retrieve a shot from a shallow watery grave, and those of us with glasses often need a clean and a wipe.

Tickets - Plane/ferry/etc

Flight tickets

Whether they are stored on your phone or tablet, or printed on good old-fashioned paper, it is vital to take any tickets that have been allocated to you and your party. Staff at airports, ferries, hotels and clubs will often need proof of who you are, and any potential dispute regarding dates and times can easily be rectified. They also serve as an immediate reminder for those on a busy itinerary. Oh, and don't forget to take your insurance details too, just in case!

Itinerary/Booking Confirmations

Golf itinerary

As with tickets, a detailed timetable is essential, especially if you have a busy golfing itinerary when you aren’t guaranteed to remember if it’s the East or West course tomorrow and the day after. Restaurant names and bookings should be included, as should any email confirmations regarding the golf, especially green fees which can fluctuate. Nobody wants the “That’s not the figure I was quoted” conversation when away on holiday.

Money/Credit Card

Credit cards

The downside of any golfing trip is that golf, travel, accommodation, food and drink are seldom cheap, especially at the more famous and upmarket destinations. Alternative payment methods are advisable - a couple of cards and ideally an app on your phone - as cards can go missing or be stolen, and of course are sometimes temporarily suspended, particularly when overseas.

Spare Glove

Golf Glove

Just as you are playing the opening round of your tour with your favourite ever glove, a hole suddenly appears in it. Or, as you take your glove off to putt and put it in your back pocket, unbeknown to you, it catches on a cactus spike and you leave it behind forever. Or, despite the forecast, heavy rain arrives. Gloves are lightweight and relatively inexpensive so having a spare or two is always a really good idea, especially when branded gloves at your bucket list destination might be three times their normal price!

Golfers

While there is a great deal to be said for the occasional round in solitude - the chance to reflect, to soak up the atmosphere, the freedom to concede yourself another 4-foot putt - one of the primary joys of a golfing trip is to share it all with good friends. The banter, the camaraderie, the support and the witty mockery both on and off the course are all things that help to make a golfing holiday so memorable and lighten the mood if your clubs are misbehaving.

Waterproofs

Waterproofs

We have touched on this before, but unless you are going to one of the most dry and arid regions for golf, you should never forget to take a waterproof jacket and trousers. Many of the modern makes are fantastically lightweight and compact, and even if you are lucky with the weather, when the sun starts to sink or you head out for your evening meal, you will be grateful for that extra layer.

Golf Umbrella

With the unseasonable changes in the way our climate is operating all over the world, there are few places where you will definitely stay dry. Even in Dubai, then between November and March there will be short, heavy rain and even thunderstorms... and you can use it for the sun too! Almost everywhere else, there are no guarantees and so it is best to do as Robert Baden-Powell exhorted in his 1908 classic Scouting For Boys, and “Be prepared”.

Golfing Outfits

Golfing outfits

So much in golf is about confidence, and one of the best ways to instil this is to dress in golfing gear which makes you look the part while feeling totally comfortable. Say you are going away for four rounds, then you will need a couple of pairs of trousers or shorts, and a pair of shirts that match each of them. Scripting, as the tour players professionals do, is deciding on the outfits for the week before the tournament starts and means you won’t end up with a completely mismatching top/trouser combo!

DMD - Distance Measuring Device

Golf laser

On a tour, you are more often than not playing most of the courses for the first time. Even in not, you are unlikely to know them well, and so happily we can find all distance and course details from the plethora of laser devices, golf watches and phone apps on the market. These tell us in far greater detail than most of us really need, exactly how far to the hole or the water, and what is hiding just over the brow. No more excuses!

Golf shoes

Comfortable golf shoes that will suit the climate and terrain of your golf trip are undoubtedly one of the most important items to consider. Many modern brands have created shoes that are a hybrid of golf shoe and trainer and so can be worn on and off the course, so saving room in your suitcase. Don’t risk taking a brand new pair, but do take the style of the course and whether you are walking or in a cart, into account.

Golf balls

On any golf trip, you are more likely than not to be playing courses that you don’t know well and which may have hidden hazards lurking around any corner. An ample supply of ammunition is vital as we have all heard stories of golfers running out of balls during a round … and you will be playing several. And yes, replacements will be easy to source, but they are unlikely to be cheap and they just might not have your favourite brand in stock.

Golf Clubs

The most important and essential items of all! You need your favourite and trusted rescue club, your irreplaceable putter that never lets you down, that iron that always misbehaves but is getting one last chance, and the driver that makes you feel like Bryson Dechambeau . While you could experiment by renting a set at many courses, there is nothing quite like the familiarity of your 14 familiar comrades in arms.

He specialises in course reviews and travel, and has played more than 1,200 courses in almost 50 countries. In 2021, he played all 21 courses in East Lothian in 13 days. Last year, his tally was 81, 32 of them for the first time. One of Rob's primary roles is helping to prepare the Top 100 and Next 100 Courses of the UK&I, of which he has played all but seven and a half... i.e. not the new 9 at Carne! How to pack your golf travel bag to keep your clubs safe | The Build Shop

There is never a bad time to travel and play golf, but there’s also nothing worse than getting to your destination only to find that your clubs have been damaged along the way.

But if you follow these steps when packing for your next trip, the likelihood of damage is hugely reduced. That way you have one less thing to worry about when you hit the links. Read below, and watch the video above, to learn more.

Sunday Golf STIX_THE MULE | Golf Travel Bag

How to pack up.

The best way to think about your golf travel bag is like a car ā€” the better-secured everything is inside the car the less it’s going to move around and potentially break. The tighter you can pack everything into your golf bag and then into the travel bag means less rattling, less compressing and safer clubs.

My two absolutely essential tools for packing my clubs are simple and extremely effective.

The first is a hard plastic field case (aka an ammo box) to hold all removable clubheads from my set for safekeeping during the trip.

Storage box ammo

By removing all the available clubheads you reduce the chance of your driver or fairway woods breaking in the most common place (the hosel) because you have eliminated the pressure point.

The second crucial item is a Club Glove stiff arm that goes into my golf bag and adjusts beyond my longest club. This holds the bag in place inside the outer travel bag.

Club Glove stiff arm

The stiff arm works like a seatbelt to keep the golf bag in one place and to prevent top-to-bottom compression when getting moved in and out of an airplane cargo hold or the belly of a tour bus.

So wherever your golf game takes you, be sure to follow these steps to make sure your clubs stay safe too. You can watch the video above for more.

Youā€™ve played some of the best golf courses in the United States . Now, youā€™re looking to pack your clubs, rally some friends, and hit the links on an international golf trip. But which parts of the world boast the best collection of golf courses?

Top Golf Destinations

From Latin America to the South Pacific ā€” and, of course, Scotland ā€” hereā€™s a list of seven international destinations perfect for a golf trip.

1. Scotland: The Birthplace of Golf

The famous Swilcan bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course links in St Andrews, Scotland. Many ... [+] famous golfers have traditionally posed for photographs on this bridge at the end of their tournament rounds, thanking the crowds for their support. The Royal & Ancient clubhouse can be seen towards the left of the background.

The Scottish seaside town of St. Andrews is known around the world as the birthplace of golf, and the iconic Old Course headlines most golfersā€™ bucket lists. Book a stay at the golf-inspired Rusacks St Andrews , where rooms come with views of the hallowed turf.

Even if you canā€™t score a tee time at the Old Course, thereā€™s plenty more courses beckoning. In fact, Scotland has more golf courses per person than anywhere else in the world. From the links of Fife to courses along the dunes of Aberdeenshireā€™s coast, the country has more than 550 courses.

Scotlandā€™s weather is known to fluctuate, but the golf season is typically April to September.

2. Ireland: A Links Paradise

300 billion perfect storm bitcoin price crash under 60 000 suddenly accelerates as ethereum xrp and crypto brace for shock fed flip, toyota s suv lineup is new and refreshed which one is right for you, the top 10 richest people in the world (may 2024).

Adare Manor in Ireland.

Ireland is nicknamed the ā€œgreen of dreamsā€ and the island is home to more than 400 golf clubs. A third of the worldā€™s natural links courses are here, and more than 240,000 golfers make the pilgrimage to Ireland each year to play on the unforgiving fairways.

In County Limerick, Adare Manor is a coveted stay for golfers. The championship golf course designed by golf architect Tom Fazio will host the 2027 Ryder cup.

While most courses are open all year round, the best time for Ireland golf trips is from April to October. In peak summer, it stays light out until 10 p.m., which means you can play a couple of rounds and make the most of your golf vacation.

3. Fiji: Luxury Private Island Greens

Denaru Golf & Racquet Club

Fiji is a draw for all types of vacationers, from honeymooners to scuba divers. But itā€™s also a golferā€™s paradise in the South Pacific, with more than a dozen courses scattered across the islands and stunning fairways lined with palm trees.

For those coming for golf, Viti Levu, the main island, is home to three championship courses: Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course, which is located at the InterContinental Resort and comes with Pacific Ocean views, Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, and The Pearl South Pacific Golf Course.

Fun fact: The country has even produced one of the worldā€™s top golfers, Vijay Singh, who fell in love with the game at the Nadi Airport Golf Course.

4. New Zealand: Dramatic Scenery

Te Arai Links in Tomarata, New Zealand

In New Zealand, golf is the sport with the highest participation among both men and women. The country has more than 400 golf courses, and the dramatic landscapes ā€” from craggy, isolated coastlines tracing the greens to soaring mountains in the alpine areas ā€” make it one of the most idyllic destinations for golfers.

Renowned architect Tom Doak has said ā€œno country has seen its golf courses improve more over the past 20 years than New Zealand.ā€ One of his famous New Zealand courses is Cape Kidnappers, which is perched above the ocean on clifftops, and built on ridge-and-valley landscape.

A 90 minute drive from Auckland (or 25 minutes via helicopter), Te Arai Links , which has two links golf courses along the coastline is also a sought-after destination. One course was designed by Doak, and the other is from Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. In between tee times, the area is known for its surf breaks and lively nearby market towns, Mangawhai and Matakana, as well as its vineyards and olive groves.

October through April is considered high season, and golfers will pay less the other times of year.

5. Mexico: Mountain, Desert And Ocean Landscapes

Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto

Los Cabos and the Baja Peninsula have long dominated as one of the best golf destinations in not just Latin America, but the world, thanks to its mountain-desert-ocean landscape, gentle sea breezes, and a collection of cacti-studded courses designed by some of the worldā€™s greatest golf architects, like Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, Greg Norman and Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

In Loreto, which is on the Eastern coast of Baja California Peninsula, golfers can tee off in a UNESCO World Heritage site when they play a round at Villa del Palmar at the Islands of Loreto by Danzante Bay, which overlooks the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez. Travelers can book packages Unlimited Golf or Spa that comes with unlimited rounds for three days.

Golf continues to grow and get better throughout Mexico, with more than 200 courses to play. Beyond the Baja Peninsula, some other top golf spots in Mexico include the courses dotting the Pacific Coastline and in the Riviera Maya, like El CamaleĆ³n, an 18-hole, Greg Norman-designed course that moves through tropical jungle, mangroves, and past freshwater canals. Itā€™s also the first PGA Tour Course in Latin America.

6. Vietnam: A Fast-Growing Golf Destination

Hoiana Shores in Vietnam

For golfers looking for the next ā€˜itā€™ destination, turn your attention to Vietnam, where some of the worldā€™s best golf architects are designing courses in the mountains, jungles, and along its coastline. Before 2020, there were about 80 golf courses in Vietnam, many attached to luxury resorts. By 2025, more than 200 courses will be built out.

Golfers can find year-round golf in Vietnam, heading into the highlands like Dalat for a cool mist and mountain breezes and hitting and booking tee times in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Vietnam throughout the year. November to April is dry and cool in Northern Vietnam, and the same goes for Central Vietnam from February to May.

Hoina Shores Golf Club , designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., is a must-play for any golf enthusiast visiting Vietnam. Itā€™s located within the $4 billion Hoiana Casino and Resort development on the Vietnamese coast south of Danang.

7. Mauritius: Bucket List Golf Destination

Anahita Golf Club

Mauritius is known for its stunning beaches and lush rainforests and unofficial world wonders like the Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark, a sand dune bursting with colors. But this island in the Indian Ocean also has a history of golf. The tourism office claims that in 1844, when it was under British rule, Mauritius was the third country in the world to be introduced to the sport and Gymkhana Golf Club was the fourth country club in the world where golf was played

Today, Mauritius has 10 18-hole courses and three 9-hole golf courses, including the bucket-list worthy Iles aux Cerfs Golf Club at Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius . Golfers take a complimentary boat shuttle to the golf course where 18 holes come with scenic ocean views. The resortā€™s second course is Anahita Golf Club, which is set on a former sugar plantation and backed by mountains and fringed by a lagoon.
