Avril Lavigne confirms 2022 UK and European tour dates

"F*ck yeah, I’m going on tour!" Avril Lavigne will be hitting the UK and Europe next year for her rescheduled Head Above Water run…

Having had to postpone the original live dates due to the pandemic, Avril Lavigne has now confirmed a 2022 return to the UK and Europe.

Originally scheduled to happen in support of her 2019 album Head Above Water, the Canadian pop-rock superstar will now be crossing the pond in February and March next year for 19 shows – including four in the UK (three in London and one in Manchester).

"Fuck yeah, I’m going on tour!" Avril announces. "Here are the Europe / UK dates."

Of course, while Avril hasn't yet had the chance to properly perform Head Above Water material overseas, it'll be interesting to see if there's any new music that arrives before this tour. In February this year, she confirmed that her upcoming pop-punk album was finished: "It’s done!" she wrote to a fan. "Music coming soon." Before then, Avril had been in the studio with MOD SUN, John Feldmann and Machine Gun Kelly .

Elle vous avait manqué ? Bonne nouvelle, Avril Lavigne est de retour ! L’interprète de Complicated vient tout juste de terminer son nouvel album et compte bien venir le défendre. Ainsi, en 2022, elle sera de passage en Europe et en Grande-Bretagne : avril Lavigne posera ses valises au Royaume-Uni le 25 mars prochain et montera sur la scène de l’O2 Apollo à Manchester. Ensuite, elle jouera à l’O2 Academy Brixton à Londres trois soirs consécutifs (les 27/28/29 mars 2022). Avant cela, Avril Lavigne passera par la France et jouera au prestigieux Zénith de Paris.

Avril Lavigne has announced her first cross-Canada tour in more than a decade.

The Bite Me Canada 2022  tour is set to hit 14 cities between May 3 and 25, with special guests Grandson and Mod Sun.

The Napanee, Ont., singer recently released the single Bite Me  featuring Travis Barker, her first release since 2019's Head Above Water .

Lavigne calls the track "an anthem about knowing your worth, what you deserve, and not giving someone a second chance who doesn't deserve you."

She says new music and a new album will follow in 2022.

Next year also marks the 20th anniversary of Lavigne's debut album Let Go , which featured hit singles Complicated  and Sk8er Boi . Lavigne was 17 when the album was released.

Avril Lavigne announced on Friday morning (Jan. 14) that her upcoming seventh studio album, Love Sux , will drop on Travis Barker’s DTA Records on Feb. 25. The 12-track collection will feature collaborations with Lavigne’s pal Machine Gun Kelly on the song “Bois Lie,” as well as Blink-182 bassist-singer Mark Hoppus on “All I Wanted,” and producer-songwriter Blackbear on the newly released single “Love It When You Hate Me.”

The angsty pop -punk anthem written by the singer, blackbear, Mod Sun and producer/Goldfinger frontman John Feldmann features Lavigne wailing the amped up, Blink-like chorus, “Don’t call me baby/ I love it when you hate me/ I know it’s crazy/ I love it when you hate me/ The highs, the lows, the yes, the no’s/ You’re so hot when you get cold/ Don’t call me baby/ I love it when you hate me.”

The follow-up to first single “Bite Me” comes from Lavigne’s first new collection of songs since 2019’s confessional Head Above Water . Lavigne will hit the road for an international tour slated to kick off on Feb. 26 at AFAS Live in Amsterdam before a run of Canadian dates in May.
