Backstreet Boys Cruise is a series of cruise trips done semi-annually by the Backstreet Boys in conjunction with Rose Tours and Travel . The cruises are typically done in the off-months when they aren't touring. On the cruise, the group do special concerts, sometimes performing songs not seen during most tours. Besides special performances, there are also special events and games done on the cruises. As of 2021, it is unknown if they will have another one.

2010 Cruise [ ]

The first cruise lasted from December 9th to the 13th, during the This Is Us era. Some of the events during this cruise were Masquerade Night, International Luv night (where A.J. wore a kilt) and Black & Blue night. [1]

2011 Cruise [ ]

The second cruise lasted from December 2nd to the 5th and went to Nassau in the Bahamas. This cruise had a PJ night, Prom night with a special appearance by Kevin Richardson , and an 80s themed night with an appearance by Sphynkter from the Just Want You to Know video. [1]

2013 Cruise [ ]

The third cruise, the first with Kevin full time, lasted from October 25th to the 28th. This cruise was their 20th anniversary cruise, and had a Neon night event, a Bachelorette Party and Halloween, themed after Everybody (Backstreet's Back) 's video. For Halloween, the Backstreet Boys dressed as the Village People.

2014 Cruise [ ]

The fourth cruise lasted from October 24th to the 27th and went from Miami to Half Moon Cay. This cruise had a 70s/disco night, another Halloween event (once again themed after the Everybody (Backstreet's Back) video), where this time the Backstreet Boys dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz, and ABC (Anything But Clothes) night, where Nick wore only briefs and a luggage mat, Brian dressed as U.S. Mail, A.J. as a concession stand, Howie as "10,000 kisses" and Kevin as a duffel bag.

2016 Cruise [ ]

The fifth cruise lasted from May 10th to the 14th, and was a European cruise, going to Barcelona, Italy, and Cannes. Unlike previous cruises, this was 4 days instead of 3. This cruise had "Feels Like Home” night, where you dressed up to show where you're from, movie night, where the Backstreet Boys dressed as Star Wars characters, Casino Royale night, where you wore expensive clothes, and 50 Shades of Backstreet night.

2018 Cruise [ ]

The sixth, and as of 2021, most recent cruise, lasted from May 3rd to the 7th, and was set to go from Miami to Grand Turk, but weather caused them to go to the Bahamas instead. The themes were High School night, where Nick dressed as a nerd, Kevin was a hippy, Howie was a "Rico Suave" type character, Brian was a jock, and AJ was an "intellectual bad boy", Comic Con night, and Millennium night, where the Backstreet Boys dressed as they did on the cover of Millennium and performed the entirety of the album, and 90's night, where the Backstreet Boys all dressed as the Spice Girls.

Theme announcement: a night at the cinema.

Ahoy cruisers!! Just a few months til we set sail for BSB CRUISE 2016!!! Time to get serious about important cruise business - THEME NIGHTS!  Here's how it's going to work this time around: We're going to select the first three themes... and we're asking YOU to help select the final theme. How you ask? Easy - head here to vote . Over the next few weeks, we'll be announcing each theme night, so keep an eye on our Twitter and Facebook . Without further ado, here's our very first theme night of #BSBCruise2016.... A Night At the Cinema! Since we'll be in Cannes during the opening night of the world famous Cannes Film Festival, we want to dedicate this theme to the magic of the movies. Dress up as your favorite movie character - past or present, cartoon or extraterrestrial... nothing is off limits. Port Change The BSB Cruise will be switching ports from La Spezia Italy to Livorno Italy. This port will be closer to both Pisa & Florence. Pisa will approximately be thirty minutes from the port, and Florence approximately an hour and fifteen to an hour & a half away. Travel time was previously one hour to Pisa & two hours to Florence. Excursions will be available for trips to both cities on royalcaribbean.com about two weeks prior after you receive your electronic documents. • I'm not at all surprised by the theme. I don't know I ever put it in writing, but I was like 95% sure they'd do some sort of movie theme given we're going to Cannes. I'm personally excited for the theme. I foresee fans getting into it and coming up with some very clever outfits. And, as always, I'm excited to see what the boys come up with. Hint hint, Magic Mike ;) At the moment, I'm fresh out of ideas. Anyone have some fun ideas??

• I love the timing of this announcement...I think they were very intentional releasing this news this morning after Nick's *ahem* incident last night. Anyone else get like 100 messages from friends and family sharing this news?? Just me? lol
• Back on track...I also noticed that this is the first cruise ever where we will have 4 theme nights. Historically we've only had 3. That's exciting we get a bonus theme!

First off, thanks to all of our Twitter followers and the Backstreet Army who help make each year a smashing success! This will be our 5th Backstreet Boys cruise and besides that we are avid cruisers and travelers in general.

What to write? Well we figured we would start with the top 10 “FAQs” that we often get asked on Twitter or via Direct Message. Let’s get started

Q1: How do you get chosen for the games on the cruise?

A : It’s the luck of the draw folks! Sometimes the names are drawn right at the event and others they are drawn just before and called at event time. Good luck to you all!

Q2: When will we know the theme nights?

A: Generally it is closer to event time. We have no clue but would say don’t hold your breath for any news before year end. In the event we do.. SCORE!

Q3: What deck will the Boys be sleeping on?

A: Come on now, that’s classified info but they are always discovered shortly after departure.

Q4: How do you get VIP wrist bands?

A: This is just as random as the games. There are people walking around with wristbands and they may hand you one. Smile at everyone you see.

Q5: Why do most people choose late dining?

A: This is personal preference depending on when you get hungry. The dining time chooses which group you will be in and you will attend dinner, photos and anything in the show lounge according to your group. Everything else is all together.

Q6: No beach party?

A: That’s right no beach party in Europe. This means on the two days that we dock you are free to roam about the city (until call time to return to the ship that is). Don’t worry, you will see the Boys on the boat when you return for the deck parties!

Q7: How are your seats selected?

A: Your seat location is based on your cabin type and your booking time. For example all the cabins that have guaranteed seating will be in those respective rows according to the booking time. If you do not have a guaranteed row you will could be scattered (space permitting) in the front rows if you were one of the first to book. You will fill in the theater in order of your reservation number. This cannot and will not be changed. Your row and seat will be printed on your wristband which you receive at check in and must wear the entire cruise.

Q8: What is Exclusive Backstreet Boys party?

A: We don’t know but are excited to find out.

Q9: When can we get on the waitlist for cabin upgrades?

A: Once the ship is sold out the wait list for upgrades will open up. We will tweet it out once we know as well.

Q10: Are you the Backstreet Boys?

A: No. No we are not. We are your friend Backstreet Boys Cruise missionaries helping to spread the news and excitement of cruising with the greatest group of guys in the world.

Whew. Well that was fun!

Last piece of advice.

We see a lot of you planning your photo groups which is awesome, however, most of the time the group you are organizing now is not the group you end up taking your photo with. Unless you know your group already ease some stress. You will make new friends on the cruise that will be your new photo crew. We are not saying not organize it just trying to give you a breather if your stressing about finding the perfect portrait pals. There will be plenty of new friends needing to find groups on the boat.
