Port Jacksonville cruise ship schedule shows timetable calendars of all arrival and departure dates by month. The port's schedule lists all ships (in links) with cruises going to or leaving from Jacksonville, JAXPORT, Florida. To see the full itineraries (ports of call dates and arrival / departure times) and their lowest rates – just follow the corresponding ship-link.

Jacksonville cruise port JAXPORT is located in northeastern Florida, USA.

The port's cruise ship schedule has listed mainly roundtrips to The Bahamas (4-5-7-day long itineraries) on the Carnival Cruise Lines ship Carnival Elation . The ship's current call ports are Nassau (New Providence) , Freeport (Grand Bahama) and the private island Half Moon Cay , combined with Key West Florida on longer itineraries. Jacksonville is sometimes included as a call port in Panama Canal transition and World Cruise itineraries.

Port's first-ever cruise vessel with regularly scheduled service from JAXPORT was MV Zenith - starting turnaround operations in October 2003. Back then, the liner was operated by Celebrity Cruises . This service was discontinued in 2005.

On February 27, 2004, here was christened Carnival Miracle , starting regular roundtrips from Jacksonville. In 2004 (May through August), Miracle was replaced by MS Jubilee (2017-scrapped). On October 12, 2004, here was homeported MS Celebration for year-round roundtrips. The service was temporarily discontinued in 2008 (April through August) after which was restarted Carnival's Jacksonville-Bahamas cruise homeporting of Carnival Fascination . In May 2016, Carnival Elation replaced Fascination for the year-round Florida-Bahamas passenger shipping service.

In February 2005, during the Super Bowl XXXIX, JAXPORT housed 4 floating hotels, with a total of 3500 staterooms for the football fans in addition to all the onboard nightclubs, restaurants, bars and cafes.

In January 2024, JAXPORT's Board of Directors approved a 3-year homeporting agreement with NCL/Norwegian Cruise Line to provide passenger cruise shipping from Jacksonville seasonally (November to April every year through 2028) starting November 2025 with Norwegian Gem ship . NCL's Jacksonville homeporting operations are based on roundtrip voyages visiting The Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean island destinations. Bookings opened on February 15th (2024).

Norwegian Gem's Jacksonville cruise schedule (during the inaugural season 2025-2026) included mainly 4-5-day Bahamas cruises (to Great Stirrup Cay, Freeport, and Nassau) as well as 3x 12-day and 2x 11-day Eastern Caribbean itineraries (visiting Great Stirrup Cay, Puerto Plata Dominicana, St Thomas USVI, St John’s Antigua, Basseterre St Kitts, San Juan Puerto Rico).

JAXPORT is one of the USA's 16 strategic ports, Florida's only port that handles military cargo (22,000 tons in 2013) and is currently ranked the 5th largest US port by annual cargo tonnage. JAXPORT is operated by Jacksonville Port Authority company - an independent agency responsible for seaport's development and also managing all the 4 deepwater terminals (1 cruise terminal and 3 cargo terminals). The cruise terminal is located just 15 min from JAX (Jacksonville Airport). The Port Authority owns all terminals, supports 132,000+ jobs (nationwide-logistics, including 26,000 local) and generates USD 31+ billion in annual economic impact for Florida.

For FY2016 (Fiscal Year 2016/ending September 30th), JAXPORT reported double-digit growth in imported vehicles (467,898) or 19% increase over 2015. Overall vehicle shipping volume was 636,000+ units. A record number of TEU-containers (968,279 units) was also reported. For FY2017, the seaport reported record growth of its cargo terminals in terms of handled TEUs, vehicles and overall cargo tonnage. In 2017, JAXPORT handled over 1 million TEUs (7% increase over FY2016).

JAXPORT's record for container volumes was set in May 2021 (128900+ TEUs / 37% increase over May 2020). Port's previous record (123700 TEUs) was in October 2019. Port’s two largest TEU-shiping lanes (as of 2021) are to Puerto Rico (19%) and Asia (18%).

When combined with the TEUs handled at port's private terminals, 1,3+ million TEU units are moved through JAXPORT annually, ranking Jacksonville Florida’s largest containership port. Asian container shipping volumes in 2016 grew 19% (nearly 400,000 TEUs). Currently, the Port's Asian sector accounts for ~40% of the total cargo shipping volume, which in 2013 was just 24%. After 13 years of cruise homeporting operations, in July 2016, JAXPORT welcomed its 2-millionth passenger.

Besides TEU-containers, JAXPORT's terminals also handle bulk- and break-bulk cargoes, including forest products (cellulose and fluff pulp, plywood, paper board, coated and recovered paper, wood chips and pellets, logs and lumber). The cargo terminals are serviced by 3 US highways (I10, I95, I75) and 3 railroads (CSX, Norfolk Southern, Florida East Coast Railway) with 40 daily train departures. The seaport serves 40+ international marine shipping companies. Direct shipping lines link to ports in the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia.

In 2017, JAXPORT scheduled a deepening project for the Jacksonville shipping channel (to max draft 14,3 m / 47 ft). This will result in increased cargo volumes by allowing access to some of the world's largest cargo vessels.

By this plan (2017-2021) were scheduled the following works:

  • Harbor Deepening/dredging of St Johns River to max draught 47 ft (14,3 m). This project created 15396 jobs and added ~2 million TEUs to the Port’s annual container capacity. It was estimated that every US$1 invested will return $24,67 to the economy.
  • Mile Point harbor improvement project (USD 43,5 million) resulted in removing navigational restrictions for larger ships under certain tidal conditions. The state advanced  for design and
  • Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) at Dames Point facilitates the direct transfer of TEUs between the boxships and freight trains. ICTF has daily capacity 2 unit trains (1 inbound, 1 outbound) carrying max 200 TEUs each. This reduced truck traffic on the local roads and highways.
  • JAXPORT purchased three new ZPMC 100-gauge container cranes (100 ft) in addition to the existing two. All gantry cranes serve Blount Island Marine Terminal. By this USD 15-million project was upgraded Berth 35 with new gantry cranes, with planned a total of 10 new electric cranes.
  • Heavy Lift Berth at Blount Island Marine Terminal has one of USA’s largest by capacity weight-bearing docks with max load capacity 1800 pounds (816 kg) per ft2. The upgrade increased berth's rail capability to 78 kips (78K pounds-force) per axle for on-dock rail cargoes.
  • Infrastructure improvements (USD 100 million) at Blount Island Terminal and Talleyrand Terminal resulted in upgraded and expanded wharves, new on-site rail tracks and dock pavements.

FY2017's general cargo shipping growth was another record - 9,3 million cargo tons (7% increase over FY2016). Dry-bulk cargoes increased 21% over FY2016 (total 862,338 tons). The container trade with Puerto Rico grew by 10%. Note: JAXPORT is USA's primary seaport for trade with the island.

In November 2017, JAXPORT started the construction of a new car terminal for processing and storage of new (foreign- and USA-made) vehicles. The new Dames Point Marine Terminal will increase by 25% port’s vehicle-handling capacity. It covers an area of 100+ acres (40 hectares) and provides direct quayside access (for vehicle loading/unloading), as well as access to major interstate highways (connections less than 1 mi away) and rail capabilities.

In 2017, JAXPORT's total vehicle throughput was 693,000 units (record year). By volume, the port is the USA's second-largest vehicle-handling port. JAXPORT serves 3 major auto processing companies (AMPORTS, "Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics", Toyota) and offers international service from 13 of the world’s largest Ro-Ro carriers.

On April 30, 2018, Carnival Corporation signed with JAXPORT an extension for cruise shipping services for additional 3 years. The agreement also included 3 additional 2-year renewal options and terminal improvements. The contract (May 2021, potentially through 2027) serves the 2019-upgraded Carnival Ecstasy to operate on year-round 4-5-day cruises. In March 2024 was signed the JAXPORT-Carnival Cruise Line agreement to extend CCL's cruise service from North Jacksonville Cruise Terminal through 2026, with an optional extension through 2030.

Carnival's JAXPORT cruise operations serve annually around 170,000 passengers. In FY2018 were handled 199,899 passengers.

On March 4, 2019, JAXPORT's Board of Directors approved a 25-year lease deal with SSA Marine (port terminal operator) for development and management of the container terminal at Blount Island. The USD 238,7 million facility (SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal) will have deepwater berths and capacity to handle larger boxships (even when fully-loaded).

  • By this project, SSA Marine will expand the terminal from 50 to 80 acres (optional up to 120 acres). The project will create ~3500 local jobs over the contract's first 10 years. Upon completion of the JAXPORT Harbor Deepening project (in 2023), the expanded terminal will have a new turning basin and max draft (water depth) 14 m / 47 ft.
  • SSA Marine contributed USD 28 million for the exclusive use of port's three gantry cranes (100-gauge each). SSA Marine also contributed USD 129,7 million for the exclusive terminal use and upgrades, including three new 100-gauge cranes. JAXPORT contributed USD 109 million in dock rehabilitation and terminal upgrades resulting in berthing capacity two Post-Panamax boxships simultaneously.
  • Construction works on the new Blount Island Marine Terminal officially started on November 22, 2019. The new terminal has 2 post-Panamax berths and annual max capacity 700,000 TEUs. Berth upgrades will to be completed in 2021.
  • SSA Jacksonville Container Terminal is approx 4 mi (6,5 km) from Dames Point Marine Terminal and serves direct lines linking JAXPORT with Atlanta GA and Chicago IL .

On May 16, 2019, was officially inaugurated the JAX LNG ( liquefied natural gas ) plant at Dames Point (along St John’s River).

  • Construction works started in December 2016. With both truck-loading and ship-bunkering capabilities, the newbuilt plant serves trucking and marine companies. It was constructed via a joint venture between Pivotal LNG Inc (specializing in heavy-duty trucking, marine and rail gas transportation) and NorthStar Midstream (subsidiary of Oaktree Capital Management, specializes in port terminal storage and transportation).
  • JAX LNG plant has daily production capacity 120,000 US gallons and storage capacity 2+ million US gallons. In 2021, the JAX LNG facility was expanded, increasing these capacities to, respectively, 360,000 and 4+ million US gallons.
  • With the JAX LNG's expansion, Pivotal’s LNG network (Alabama, Florida, Pennsylvania) reached a daily production capacity 470,000+ US gallons and storage capacity approx 9 million US gallons.

JAXPORT statistics 2019

In FY2019, the port handled 1,338+ million TEUs (5% increase over FY2018), nearly 696,500 vehicles, ~10,9 million tons of cargoes (4% increase), ~880,000 tons of dry-bulk (including non-containerized materials, 19% increase), ~934,600 tons of break-bulk (including wood pulp, 7% increase), 380,300 tons of liquid-bulk (including corn syrup and molasses, 4% increase) and nearly 195,000 cruise passengers (199,000 in 2018).

JAXPORT statistics 2018

In August 2018, JAXPORT reported a monthly record in TEU volumes - nearly 115,700 containers. The previous record (115,300 TEUs) was in December 2017.

  • For FY2018 (fiscal year, Oct 1 through Sept 30), JAXPORT’s TEU volumes increased 20% (over 2017) - with total handled 1,3 million containers. Of those, 382,000 TEUs were on vessels serving USA-Asian routes, and 669,700 TEUs on the route USA-Puerto Rico.
  • JAXPORT serves all three world’s largest shipping alliances (G6, CKYHE, OCEAN).
  • For 2019 were scheduled dredging works for deepening Jacksonville’s ship channel (to max draft 14 m / 47 ft) allowing even larger boxships.

FY2018 was port's record year for cruise shipping - a total of 199,899 passengers, served by Carnival Elation . The homeported year-round in Jacksonville ship operates roundtrip tineraries to Freeport , Nassau , Princess Cays and Half Moon Cay . In May 2019, Carnival Ecstasy assumed Elation's 4-5-day itinerary program.

Record growth was reported also in container shipping volumes - nearly 1,3 million TEUs (23% increase), ranking it Florida’s largest container port. The Asian boxshipping trade increased 12% (to nearly 429,000 TEUs).

  • Ro-Ro shipping (wheeled cargo) was over 665,000 units.
  • General cargo shipping volumes reached nearly 10,5 million tons (+12%).
  • Liquid bulk cargo shipping increased 19% (to over 365,000 tons, mainly corn syrup and cooking oil).
  • Container shipping with Puerto Rico increased 37%. In 2018, from here were made the principal shipments of supply relief aid to the island following Hurricane Maria (September 2017).

River cruises from Jacksonville

As homeport for riverboats, Jacksonville is included in the regular schedule of USA's largest river cruise company - American Cruise Lines . Next table shows company's 7-day "Great Rivers of Florida" itinerary (ship American Star ) with prices from ~USD 2900 per person (double occupancy).

Jacksonville cruise terminal

JAXPORT Cruise Terminal covers a total area of 5900 m2 (63,000 ft2) and is located at the northwest corner of Dames Point Marine Terminal. The facility was inaugurated in 2003 - completed in just 6 months. Vehicle access to the terminal is via Hecksher Drive (to the west of Dames Point Bridge). I-95 highway is a few miles away. JAX Airport is at ~15 min drive from the passenger terminal.

JAXPORT has only one cruise berth (length 393 m / 1289 ft). The passenger embarkation area is sized 1400 m2 (15,000 ft2). The baggage area is sized 2600+ m2 (28,000 ft2). In front of the terminal, there is a car parking (capacity ~600 vehicles) guarded 24/7. The parking is located next to the terminal building.

On December 13, 2017, JAXPORT approved a USD 6,5 million redevelopment project that included paving an area of 18,2 acres (73,650 m2 / 793,000 ft2) located close to the cruise terminal and to be used as a dedicated cruise parking facility.

For the project was contracted the Jacksonville-based company "Pars Construction Services LLC". Works were scheduled to start in early-2018 and to be completed in November. Besides the new pavement, the new car parking project also included drainage, high-mast lighting, pay booths, electrical supply for the gate arms, CCTVs/security cameras, slope protection system (along Wynn's Creek). The new parking lot allowed JAXPORT to convert its old cruise terminal parking area to an automobiles terminal (processing foreign- and USA-made cars).

Jacksonville Cruise Guide

Carnival Elation

The Carnival Elation cruise ship offers cruises from Jacksonville Florida. It is one of the casual and inexpensive "fun ships" of Carnival Cruise Line. For departures, see our full schedule of Carnival cruises from Jacksonville .

The Elation cruise ship has lots of things to do, such as Waterworks water park, Alchemy Bar, Cloud 9 Spa, Punchliner Comedy Club, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Playlist Productions shows.

Programs to keep the kids busy include Camp Ocean, Club O2, Circle C, and Seuss at Sea (character parade and story time).

Read a Carnival Elation review . They have more than 1,100 reviews by passengers too.

Carnival Elation serenity

Dining options include the main dining room, Lido restaurant (casual buffet with indoor and outdoor seating), Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, Pizza Pirate, Seaday Brunch, Carnival Deli, Swirls ice cream and 24-hour room service. For an additional fee you can try the Chef's Table, Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, and the Coffee Bar.

Carnival Elation lido

Shore excursions on the Elation cruises to the Bahamas are varied.

The best excursion in Nassau is Atlantis Aquaventure water park, which is one of the finest in the world. Purchase a tour to go and you'll be there for six to eight hours. Don't like water parks? Try a ferry to Blue Lagoon Island. You can have encounters with dolphins and sea lions.

Our favorite shore excursion in Freeport is Lucayan National Park. Here you tour underwater caves, mangrove swamp and undeveloped beach. Want more adventure? Go horseback riding on a beach, which can be arranged through Pinetree Stables.

Princess Cays is different because it's a private island. Get up close with stingrays or paddle a kayak. All activities are booked through Carnival.

I forgot to review my cruise in early March 2024. My classmate, Robin and I had a wonderful time. We created happy memories. I like the Jaxport checking. It was pretty smooth and fast. Each person was able to carry onboard, one bottle of wine. I also preordered the water package, Wine package, chocolate covered strawberries and the cookie plate. So good! I do not drink(wine or alcohol)very much at all. We came back home with 2 bottles of wine. Our Room attendant was wonderful. The entertainment was great. I did have a pina colada one time and it was very good. The early dining worked out good for us. Food was so so. I would enjoy a cup of coffee after dinner each night. My favorite activity was the Art Auction. Robin won a Thomas Kincaid piece of artwork and I won a bid for two Alcatraz artworks for $100.00! I love my bracelet and I am wearing it now. We would buy the bracelet and first charm and then we would go back each day to purchase the daily charm. So much fun. Pros: Nassau! Cons: The food was so-so. I got lost a lot too. Lol Recommend? Yes, it's a smaller ship and I loved the original bar where you could see all of the above floors. On a larger ship, there is so much more walking to get to where you want to go. We were on the 8th floor near the Customer service and bar with music performances. We had a balcony room and we really enjoyed the balcony a lot. I also prepaid the tips. Worry free! I can't wait until my next cruise. I did gamble and loose some. My friend Robin won over $400! She applied that to her art work auction piece. I like the smaller ship. The pool was fantastic. I enjoyed Nassau and Bimini. Recommend Elation? YES! Pros:everything was good Cons: the delay due to the fog in Jacksonville. We were allowed to board after about a five hours delay. This was not their fault.

If you're looking for a fun-filled adventure on the open seas, Carnival Elation is definitely worth considering. Offering an unforgettable experience, this cruise line is known for its lively atmosphere and exceptional service. Although it's the oldest and smallest ship in Carnival's fleet, recent updates have made it comfortable and accommodating. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that all your needs are met. However, there are some drawbacks, such as the lack of free Wi-Fi and the high cost of premium services. Additionally, the alcohol package can be quite expensive, especially if you're planning a longer trip. Despite these limitations, Carnival Elation is a great option for those seeking a party cruise experience.

I took my first voyage on Carnival Elation March 2024 with a group of friends. I live 20 minutes from port, which was a bonus! Our cruise was from Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. Our first meal was a Guy Fieri burger and fries. So good! I managed to only have one more burger on the last day when we were stuck aboard the ship several additional hours. I participated in the 90s music trivia the first night and won a second place medal. Woo hoo! We arrived at Freeport the next day several hours late, so we hung out at the Serenity deck (no children allowed). There were several chairs for catching rays as well as two hot tubs. It's the most peaceful place on the ship (in my opinion). Plus, it's on the back of the ship, so it's a nice view. Another one of my favorite spots was the Piano Bar, which looked like you were in NYC. We hung here a few evenings. Arrive early if you want a spot at the bar as it gets crowded. And it's a little hot, so dress accordingly. We ate most of our meals in the dining room. This food was much better than the buffet. And the staff was great! If there is soup on the menu, I highly suggest you try it as all the soups were fabulous. The duck was also memorable. We had a blast at the 80s party on the pool deck. Some folks went all out with their clothes and props, which added to the fun. We also did a little gambling. I won $50 at the black jack table, and it was my first time playing. Thankfully, my friend helped me out. The only issue was there was a lot of fog the last morning, so we couldn't come in to port until the fog lifted. The fog, of course, was not Carnival's fault. But what I didn't understand was that it was not organized for debarking the ship. Everyone had a scheduled time to get off the ship, but this was not honored when it was time to get off. Meaning, we should have debarked in the same order, but Carnival did not enforce the schedule. If you live in Jacksonville and haven't tried Elation, I suggest you book your trip! You and your friends will have a blast!

Talk about a good time! Booked a cruise with friends and it was a off week, so kids still in schools, which meant the ship was pretty vacant. I could finally find a chair on the Lido and Serenity areas, and someti.es Noone seen and it was just us 4 Ahhh so Peaceful. Our room are perfect, and our caretaker JA was so adorable! The food was 5 Star as we ate in the restaurants but did grab a Guy Burger in between and that Pizza OMG.. Even though we had some weather we felt safe and taken care of. Alchemy and Piano Bar were hopping and of course the Casino! I lost ug... but my friends won ..some...yeah.. I would definitely do this home port Cruise again.

This was my 3rd Carnival cruise and my 2nd cruise out of Jacksonville to the Bahamas. First - Jaxport is easy to get in & out of. Parking was simple, close to the ship & prepaid before our voyage. Baggage was handled as soon as we got out of the car and checkin flowed very easily. Onboard, we were welcomed by our cruise director, who kept things entertaining all weekend, given our safety briefing in a timely & courteous fashion and allowed into our cabin which was clean & ready for us (my roommate checked with a black light & verified the cleanliness). The food onboard was delicious & plentiful. My Yelp friends & I wanted to take most meals in the dining room and we were not disappointed. Every dish, and there were plenty, was delicious. We saw several shows that were well performed & choreographed. The one disappointment of the cruise was a very lame "comedian" that should have been put ashore. Activities galore! So much to do that we never ran out of fun! The cruise itself was 4 stars, but with my wonderful friends, it was over the moon - 10 Stars! I would do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks Chris, Michelle & Debbie for a great cruise!

This was my second cruise and second carnival cruise, and Carnival Elation burnt me out on cruises for a while. The food was horrible and couldn't accommodate for gluten allergies properly, my girlfriend had to stick to fries and our dinner at the dining hall. The lido deck had few options, and what there were, were not something that felt good to eat. Guy's burgers had some seasoned fries, but the burgers had bad meat quality, either old or freezer burnt. Buns and cheese were fine. Pizza pirate was slow and incorrect, I ordered a Prosciutto knowing there were cheeses I didn't like on the Quattro, but received a Quattro with Prosciutto on it so it could speed up the line. Additionally the gluten free bread option was not flatbread! It was about the thickness of pita bread and crumbled. The sub place had some good gluten free bread for my girlfriend, but the meats weren't quality. They substituted thick cut turkey for deli turkey and hadn't informed her prior. It was cold and slimy even after being toasted. The dining hall was okay, portions were much smaller than the other carnival ship I was on and by the end I had to order two apps and entrees in order to feel full. I usually stuck to fish options, but anytime our group got land meat it was tough and improperly cooked. We had two gluten free people in our group and 2 of the 4 nights they forgot about their food, and had to eat after we usually finished. The melting chocolate cake was either entirely batter or cake all the water through. It never had a cake outer layer with melty batter on the inside. Breakfast was always a disaster. Omelets were undercooked and had tomatoes that must've been old and slimy. The best breakfast food I tasted the entire trip were salmon bagels and basic breakfasts like eggs, sausage, and bacon. Anything like pancakes, waffles, and french toast always had people upset at their choice. We had only decided to go to one premium option, the sushi chef. I previously held the belief that grocery store sushi in the midwest was probably the worst, this has taken the place of worst sushi, and it's not even questionable, nobody in our group of 8 wanted to finish this sushi. It was bad. The Freeport and Nassau ports are uninteresting without excursions. Freeport is covered in shipping containers. And Nassau doesn't have many safe roads to explore and my girlfriend got catcalled by a local. All of the food on the beach didn't open till 1:00pm we only had 8:00am-3:00pm on port. Everything else was just alright and didn't feel too special. The staterooms were clean and met our needs. The layout was simple and easy to get around. Overall, I think this cruise would have been fine if the food was better. It really ruined the whole experience for us and made it feel more like a cage then a getaway.

Photo of Jacqueline S.

It pains me to leave this one star review as we love our Carnival Fun Cruises. But this was by far the WORST cruise we have been on (and we cruise quite a bit! This was our 10th cruise). Let me start with the continuous harassment to buy things... no matter how many times you say no thank you the staff continues to try to sell you whatever they have at that moment... extra drinks, cups, jewelry, but the spa ladies were the worst at refusing to take no for an answer. It kind of ruined the spa experience for me. The stateroom was dirty. It was clean as in clean sheets and vacuuming done but the window sill had grim on it that turned the towel black when I tried to clean it enough to enjoy the view from the window I paid to have. The vanity was sticky and definitely wasn't clean when we got our room. Our shower looked like it had not been washed. The hardware was actually broke in there and fell off the wall multiple times. Our room Stew was no where to be found the entire trip. The TV service is out dated and played the same three movies on a loop for the whole cruise... yes, I know that people don't pay to be in their rooms however we did have some rough seas and due to being ill we stayed in the cabin for a bit... they had also closed the pools and put up signs the outside decks were closed. The food was so inconsistent. The portions were small. Meats were poor quality and two nights out of the three were undercooked. The buffet closed earlier than scheduled times and opened later than scheduled times. It took over 30 minutes to get a slice of pizza. Alcohol drinks were inconsistent throughout the whole ship. It took going to three bars to get a simple Bahama Mama made correctly. Staff was pretty much on auto pilot and were inconvenienced by any requests. At breakfast one day my husband wanted a second cup of coffee and the waiter ignored him every time we tried to ask. The entertainment was lackluster. But the worst was the lack of security and guest control. Several people were smoking pot on the ship and it was all you could smell in some areas. Teenagers running wild all night long stealing door decor and banging on all the doors in the hallways at 2am. Jumping off the stairs, throwing ducks from balconies onto the atrium bar on lower floors. The only positive I have for this cruise was the easy debarment process and the excursion in Nassua. But 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THE ELATION.

Spring 2021, we booked CarnivalElation from Jacksonville, FL. The ship was switched out with Carnival Spirit due to Elation scheduled for dry dock. We loved Carnival Spirit. Great ship. The thing that stood out the most was a staff member at the port - the terminal. Her name was Debby Howard. She was super nice and professional. Great asset to the team for sure.

Just finished a 5 day cruise on the elation to the Bahamas. Let me just I will never cruise carnival again. 1st day on board, refrigerator was broken and they refused to replace it....bought us 2 buckets of ice. In my opinion. The food was the worst we've ever tasted at any establishment ever. Make sure you're fully vaccinated otherwise you might be taking home 19 new friends called covid.

Our 5 night cruise was way cheaper than any stay at a hotel and came with plenty of food and great entertainment! I went with the interior room deal- but got portholes- so we could have some natural light- yes, they are considered interior probably because it is a small room and the portholes window eat up several feet. Room: small, clean, great stewards, no chairs- which was odd since there was space for at least one chair and small table. I used the huge window area to store cases of soda & other items adjacent to the bed Food: So many choices- I love dining in the formal dining room- but you have to keep in mind everything moves slow here, so relax. You usually have a team of three handling drinks, bread service, food and dessert. Brunch is always delicious- I highly recommend the 12 hour french toast (always). The best dinner I had was the prime rib- cooked perfectly medium-rare and a close second was the braised short rib. Ask to keep the water carafe if you want to drink numerous glasses of water throughout your meal. Lido deck had the buffet- they are open in the morning, close for a short period and reset for lunch and also have dinner options. Pizza Pirate- open till 11pm, serves salads and pizzas- pretty good The Sandwich shop- one of my cruise favorites, who knew Lays chips under a heat lamp were even better? I enjoyed the meatball sandwich and turkey wrap & John love the pastrami Guy's Burger Joint- honestly- I didn't eat a single burger- the line was always obnoxious and I was never in the mood The Blue Iguana Cantina- my food allergy kept me away from here- but the smell of sizzling peppers was tantalizing. Another line that always seemed long. John did enjoy a burrito on our last day They also offer a Sushi bar, coffee shop and numerous various full bars throughout the ship for additional fees. Drinks- pro tip for alcoholic beverages is to order the daily special to save some money Entertainment: You will never catch me in the casino because they allow smoking and I am very sensitive/allergic to the smell. Sing and Dance shows are spectacular. Piano bar is usually my fav- we only went one night. The guy could play but wasn't huge on the singing part- the songs where everyone joined in were the most fun. Comedy club- we did not partake (which is unusual). I loved the violinists that were playing in the Atrium & the steel drum player. That bar was always packed for good reason- but you could enjoy the entertainment from above. Spa- over priced, but you're on vacation and nothing says relax more than massage! I even got a facial! I won a $75 gift certificate- which really only meant I spent more money in the spa. Little known perk- there is a wet and dry sauna that you can use for free during open hours. Bring on the steam! Our cruise was hampered by thunderstorms both days in port- which literally put a damper on things, but we took it in stride and just enjoyed the ship. Another tip- look at whatever country you are traveling to for their national holidays. We were in Nassau on a holiday and half of the shops were closed. We did not research that and I do regret it.
