Enjoy the island atmosphere of RedFrog Rum Bar, or south-of-the-border taco goodness at BlueIguana Cantina. Let’s not forget Guy's Burger Joint and Bonsai Sushi. There’s family fun (and games) at Hasbro, The Game Show and ha-ha hilarity at the Punchliner Comedy Club. Carnival Breeze has the whole family covered — with water, that is — with the 320-foot-long Twister Waterslide. Just for kids there are supervised youth programs like Camp Ocean and Club O2. And adults can pamper themselves at Cloud 9 Spa. For fun after the sun’s done, take in the multi-dimensional Thrill Theater, dance in your seat at Playlist Productions or, if you prefer to do your dancing on a dance floor, check out Liquid Nightclub. However you enjoy your time, Carnival Breeze will transport you to Caribbean bliss.
Carnival Celebration
You know, it’s hard work making effortlessly-fun vacations. So please bring that unique Carnival spirit... and know that this ship’s bringing the fun. Just like sister ship Mardi Gras®, Carnival Celebration has six Zones — themed areas that bring together incredible experiences and flavor. New flavors you haven’t experienced yet — nobody has! — are heating up at Latitudes™, The Golden Jubilee™ and Emeril’s Bistro 1397™. (Mmm, new Emeril.) Carnival Celebration also marks the return of innovations like BOLT® — our onboard rollercoaster, Bonsai Teppanyaki™, RedFrog® Tiki Bar, Family Feud™ Live, Havana Bar™, Seuss at Sea™, and Playlist Productions™. Perhaps best of all, all the fun you’ll have on Carnival Celebration is powered by clean LNG fuel!
Carnival Conquest
Aboard Carnival Conquest there's fun everywhere you look, from the dance club to the show lounges. The Taste Bar delivers small bites with big flavor, while the Alchemy Bar serves up one-of-a-kind drinks. The Punchliner Comedy Club gives stand-up comedians a place to share their craft for your enjoyment. And let’s not forget Seuss at Sea, which turns classic Dr. Seuss stories and characters into big fun for all. With delicious food, and fun-filled bars and entertainment, Carnival Conquest has a scene for everybody.
Carnival Dream
Carnival Dream was at the forefront of a wave of amazingly fun Carnival ships; as the genesis of the Dream class, she set the direction for the ships that followed — first Carnival Magic and then Carnival Breeze. Aboard Carnival Dream, get your appetite ready because you’re gonna need it! Options include two dual-level dining rooms, a gourmet steakhouse, the always-popular Lido Restaurant, the way-fun RedFrog Rum Bar and the cool BlueIguana Tequila Bar. You’ll also want to check out Ocean Plaza, which combines tasty treats with perhaps even tastier entertainment. You’ll find a fantastic variety of water-based fun throughout the ship, from the heart-racing waterslide action at WaterWorks to the soul-soothing Thalassotherapy pool at the Cloud 9 Spa. Make your Carnival Dream come true.
Carnival Elation
Carnival Elation is a celebration of the muses who inspire the arts, and the ship will inspire you to have fun! There are plenty of spots to enjoy your favorite drinks, from the laid-back Gatsby’s bar to the jumping Jekyll and Hyde Dance Club to the always-swinging Duke’s Piano Bar. There are places for a tasty bite as well, from Tiffany’s on Lido Deck to one of two grand dining rooms, and even the Musical Café. If being a kid is more your thing, age-appropriate, supervised activities are available from one of three youth spaces. What kid won’t be elated with the video arcade and the waterslides? Whatever brings you joy, you’re sure to find your happy place aboard the beautiful Carnival Elation.
Carnival Firenze
Join the Carnival Firenze and sail Carnival Fun Italian Style. Joining the Carnival fleet from her sister line, Costa Cruises, the Carnival Firenze is an all new onboard experience. The food, entertainment and service is typical Carnival, plus you can look forward to exclusive new experiences inspired by Costa’s Italian heritage.
Carnival Freedom
Carnival Freedom offers some of the fleet’s latest and greatest features. Explore food options galore, including Posh and Chic dining rooms, Guy’s Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina. When it’s time for a beverage, choices include Scott’s Piano Bar, the 70’s Dance Club, the Alchemy Bar (cocktail-magic central!), EA SPORTS Bar and the RedFrog Pub. At the one-and-(adult)-only Serenity Retreat, total relaxation is not only encouraged, but pretty much required. Kids not only will find new friends at one of three youth spaces — like the all-new Camp Ocean — but they also can splash around with them in one of many pools, speed down the Twister Waterslide or challenge them to a round of mini-golf. And don’t miss Hasbro, The Game Show, where kids of all ages (even grandma!) compete in larger-than-life Hasbro games.
Carnival Glory

We’re talking things like the third bistro at sea — Emeril’s Bistro 717™ — from our new Chief Culinary Officer; plus Carnival classics like BOLT®, RedFrog® Tiki Bar, Family Feud™ Live, Cucina del Capitano®, Seuss at Sea™ and Playlist Productions™. These are joined by fresh innovations like The Golden Mermaid™ and Dr.Inks, Ph.D.™… plus all-new onboard fun spots. And every last one of them is powered by clean-burning LNG fuel!
Carnival Legend
Carnival Legend is certainly deserving of its name. Legendary features include the RedFrog Pub, with its mythical mascot and Caribbean ambience; the Green Thunder waterslide, which offers a saga you’ll recount for ages; and Bonsai Sushi, which proves that you needn’t teach a man to fish for him to enjoy delicacies from the sea. Take a dip in the Camelot and Avalon pools, wish for fortune at Club Merlin Casino, and taste something savory at Truffles Restaurant. There’s more than one way to dine at Lido Deck’s Unicorn Café, and at The Golden Fleece Steakhouse, the great multi-course meal is no myth. Music lovers who go for the classics will love Billie’s Piano Bar. Kids will tell and retell tales of their favorite vacation, spent hanging out and meeting new friends at one of three supervised youth areas. And adults can get lost in a good book, or just one another’s company, at the legendarily kid-free Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and then dance the night away at Medusa’s Lair Dance Club. This is one vacation that’ll go down in your history books.
Carnival Liberty
Among her sister ships, Carnival Liberty boasts many firsts. She was the first to serve up gourmet Guy Fieri burgers daily, and she introduced the exciting EA SPORTS Bar, arguably the most exciting sports bar at sea. Savor tacos and burritos on Lido Deck, then choose from two great bars — one rum-slinging and the other one tequila-wielding. Other fun-filled activities include the Twister Waterslide, Spa Carnival, the RedFrog Rum Bar, The Punchliner Comedy Club, Seuss at Sea and Camp Ocean. This is just the beginning of what to expect from a ship that’s sure to dazzle your senses and provide memories to last a lifetime.
Carnival Luminosa

Carnival Magic didn’t stop there; she debuted all-new types of onboard fun, and continues to prove it with the outdoor fitness and fun of SportSquare, featuring the world’s first ropes course at sea. This ship introduced Cucina del Capitano, which serves up Italian favorites fit for a captain. And you’ll always remember your first taste of RedFrog Pub, with its laid back, no-worries atmosphere and signature beer, ThirstyFrog Red. Carnival Magic doesn’t just start good things — she continues delighting passengers cruise after cruise.

You’ll find room to move at Beauties Dance Club, and a hard time sitting still at Playlist Productions. Alongside the pool is the big-fun Seaside Theatre, while Seuss at Sea is a great time for those who love a good rhyme. Camp Carnival, Circle “C” and Club O2 are the hotspots for cool kids. 47 Photos of Carnival Imagination Before Being Scrapped
Peter Knego
- November 13, 2023
In early September 2020, the Carnival Imagination was the latest vessel to be run ashore at Aliaga, Turkey, where she is being stripped and prepared for demolition.
In what is now becoming a distressingly familiar final maneuver, Carnival Imagination was rammed through a narrow opening between her partially demolished sister, Carnival Fantasy and a small coaster.
In the metal-crunching process, she sideswiped the Fantasy , shearing off lifeboat davits and smashing railings and bulwarks that will soon be reduced to piles of scrap metal.
The other ships in the forlorn fivesome include the former Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas , the former Sovereign of the Seas, and the Carnival Inspiration .
A fourth Carnival ship, the Carnival Fascination , has also just been sold, presumably to suffer the same fate if they can find an open slot for her on that crowded beach.
Carnival Imagination Specifications
Built-in 1995 as the Imagination, much of Carnival Imagination ’s “thunder” was stolen by the four identical ships that came before her. However, it could be argued that it gave her a slight edge on the following three .
Even though the Imagination was well precedented, she emerged at a pivotal time in the development of Carnival Cruise Lines, which would eventually eclipse all other cruise lines as the world’s largest.

Aside from some smaller Soviet ships, “Five of Eight” was part of the largest platform of cruise ships built to date and led to even larger ships in more expansive platforms that followed.
For ship lovers, the idea of so many vessels being cut from the same mold is not terribly exciting but for big cruise lines, such uniformity keeps the product, mechanics and other operating systems interchangeable and consistent.
Despite her indistinguishable architecture and layout, the Imagination boasted her own unique interior stylings, thanks to the unbounded creativity of designer Joseph Farcus.
READ: Design on the High Seas by Joseph Farcus
Farcus applied a “classical and mythological” concept to the Imagination’s public areas. While slightly more restrained than the four sisters that preceded her, she was still quite an eye-popper.
The Imagination was built by Kvaerner-Masa shipyards in Helsinki, Finland. The eight-member ships platform was considered the world’s most extensive peacetime shipbuilding program, lasting from 1989 through 1998.
The contract was signed in March 1992, and the first steel for hull number 488, soon named Imagination , was cut in the spring of 1993.
The ship was floated out in October 1994 and completed in late April of the following year. Imagination was christened by Jodi Dickinson, wife of Carnival’s then-CEO Bob Dickinson, in June of 1995.
In 2007, the ship’s name was given the “Carnival” prefix and subsequent refits saw modifications, such as the addition of a water park, the City Sports Park, an atrium bar and the overhaul of several interior venues.
Here is a deck-by-deck tour of the ship in her latter-day Carnival Imagination configuration, from top to bottom.
The Carnival Imagination had ten passenger decks, beginning at the top with Sun Deck. Initially, Sun Deck featured a sheltered games court and a jogging track that ran through the base of the radio mast.
In later years, this space featured the City Sports Park golf putting course, although the jogging track was retained.
The next level, Sports Deck, began with the gym and Spa Carnival, leading aft to the top level of the seven-deck tall atrium.
The Camp Carnival children’s playroom occupied the aft interior portion of this level, overlooking the atrium. This space was a pair of private owner’s suites on some of the Fantasy-class ships.
The aft portion of the Sports Deck surrounded the funnel base. This teak-lined space was once a nude sunbathing deck, and in recent years, it has provided access to the Carnival Waterworks slides.
Verandah Deck began with an open-air observation platform that extended via the bridge wings over the ship’s side.
A block of 34 staterooms, including 26 verandah suites, followed.
Verandah Deck continued with open terraces surrounding the midships pool area, leading to the base of the Waterworks and a large sunning terrace at the ship’s stern.
Lido Deck began with the bridge and officers’ accommodations. The midships portion was a partially shaded open deck area with a pool and a bandstand that in later years, were served by the Blue Iguana Tequila and RedFrog Rum bars.
The Horizon Bar and Grill continued from there with an alfresco and enclosed casual buffet dining venue seating 722 guests.
The Promenade Deck featured a full level of public rooms, beginning with the double-deck Dynasty Lounge, a showroom seating 1,300 guests with sightlines that were somewhat compromised by numerous support beams.
Decorative elements included pearwood handrails, wrought iron balusters with Medusa heads and Venetian glass mosaic tilework.
The seven-story Grand Atrium was just aft of the Grand Lounge. Initially, it featured a kinetic sculpture by Leonard Jankow as its centerpiece, that was later replaced with the Lobby Bar.
Continuing from the Grand Atrium, Imagination Boulevard linked all of the ship’s Promenade Deck public rooms via a wide passage on the starboard side with decorative flourishes that included Napoleonic sphinxes, Venetian glass tile and granite decking and tabletops.
The El Dorado Casino occupied a large portion of Promenade Deck immediately aft of the Grand Atrium on the port side.
Next up, the Shangri-La Nightclub was originally all about classical Renaissance forms reinterpreted with a modern flair. In recent years, the space was given a more generic look.
The Illusions Disco followed Shangri-La, leading to the Pinnacle Club with its long bar and a staircase descending to the Spirit Dining Room. This space was later reconfigured as the Alchemy Bar.
The Xanadu Lounge concluded the interior spaces on Promenade Deck. It was a cabaret-style showroom that featured winged busts of the Roman God Mercury on either side of the proscenium.
The far aft end of Promenade Deck, originally dedicated to a children’s wading pool and deck, was the adults-only Serenity enclave in recent years.
Atlantic Deck began with the lower level of the Dynasty show lounge and continued aft with a balcony overlooking the Grand Atrium that featured the Galleria Shopping Mall and a pair of smaller public rooms. On the aft/port side, there was the Mirage Bar, with its purple and yellow spheres.
Across from the Mirage Bar on the starboard side, the Curiosity Library featured antique bookshelves and Bellini-style pillars inspired by St. Peters in Rome.
Accessed via a passage running between the Mirage Bar and Curiosity Library, the Pride Dining Room, named for the Seabourn Pride (a deluxe Seabourn cruise ship that the Carnival Corporation owned ), was the first in a pair of 650-seat restaurants on Atlantic Deck.
The Spirit Dining Room, the aft complement to the Pride and also named for a former Seabourn ship (the Seabourn Spirit ), featured circular motifs and a silver color scheme versus the triangles and gold of the Pride.
PHOTOS: 21 Images of Carnival Inspiration’s Final Day
Save for the bottom level of the Grand Atrium with its reception and shore excursion offices, the Lobby Bar and an art gallery on Empress Deck, the remaining decks (Upper, Main and Riviera) were dedicated to accommodations.
Twenty-Eight suites with in-hull balconies were the ship’s largest and most expensive digs, featuring a full bath with tub/jacuzzi, a walk-in closet, a sitting area, and a bedroom, in addition to verandahs.
Standard ocean view staterooms and interiors rounded up the accommodations onboard the Carnival Imagination .
Saying Farewell to an Old Friend
It is hard to believe the Carnival Imagination and her slightly newer sister, the Carnival Inspiration , will no longer be regular visitors at Long Beach’s cruise terminal. However, who would have imagined a year ago the world of cruising would be where it is now?
The Imagination and the Inspiration are scheduled to be replaced by the soon-to-be rebuilt Carnival Radiance (former Carnival Victory ), which is still partially stripped at a Spanish shipyard.
History: How Carnival Inspiration Changed The Game
She was more a player than a game-changer. Her sister Fantasy was the real game-changer, introducing eight ships featuring spectacular atriums to the Carnival fold.
Fun Facts About The Carnival Inspiration
- Christened by Jodi Dickinson, the now ex-wife of former Carnival CEO Bob Dickinson.
- Imagination was the first Carnival Cruise Line ship to offer a 24-hour pizzeria.
Past Incidents
None of note.
Refurbishments
Various refits over the years saw the addition of the Carnival Waterworks, the Alchemy Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, Club O2 and Circle C (children’s play rooms) and other fleetwide fixtures.
Sister Ships
(note: all were given the “Carnival” prefix in 2007)
The Final Days
Early this year, w hen Carnival announced the sale of the Carnival Fantasy and Carnival Inspiration , the initial plan was to have the Carnival Imagination and Carnival Fascination put into a cold layup with no immediate plans to return them to service.
After the first two ships were beached for scrapping and Carnival’s planned return to cruising was further delayed, the Carnival Imagination was the next to go. She sailed off to Curacao, where, like the other two ships, she was stripped of some equipment then deadheaded to Aliaga.
There are some rumors that the 1994-built Carnival Fascination may be going to another operator but time will soon tell whether she joins her sisters on that very crowded beach in Turkey.

These cards are provided to all passengers (incl minors) immediately upon boarding the ship. Balance updates are provided at Guest Services desk (at any time). Bathroom amenities vary each time, so it’s advisable you bring your own. Samples may include toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razor, antiacids. There is a wall-mounted dispenser in the shower stall (for liquid soap and shampoo). The bathroom’s 2-pin plug can be used only for electric razors.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:
From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.
At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.
According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.
The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
Coffee Ring
The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.
Zodiac Metro
According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.
Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.
Paleontological finds
Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.
Know More about this tour
We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.
