Doja Cat Announces First Tour in 4 Years with Special Guests Ice Spice and Doechii — See the Dates

Announce shortly after the release of her new single "Attention," The Scarlet Tour kicks off in San Francisco on Halloween

Get into Doja Cat 's upcoming tour, yuh.

On Friday, the Grammy winner announced The Scarlet Tour, her first North American arena tour and first overall string of official headlining concerts since 2019 — and special guests Ice Spice and Doechii are joining her on the road.

Given the dark and spooky aesthetic of her latest single "Attention," it's only fitting that The Scarlet Tour kicks off on Halloween (Oct. 31) in San Francisco. Doja Cat, 27, will then play shows in cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, New York City, Boston, Detroit and more before wrapping on Dec. 13 in Chicago.

Doechii, 24, will open for the "Say So" performer for about the first half of the tour, while Ice Spice, 23, will support her for the rest of the dates. It's a stacked lineup, as both rappers have experienced massive rises to fame over the past year. Doechii earned her first hits with "Persuasive" and "What It Is (Block Boy)," while Ice Spice has dominated the charts with "Princess Diana," "Boy's a Liar, Pt. 2" with PinkPantheress and "Karma" with Taylor Swift .

Presale tickets for The Scarlet Tour will become available starting June 28 for fans who register through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program before June 25 at 10 p.m. PT. Then, limited general tickets will go on sale on June 30 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Doja Cat previously announced a tour in support of her 2019 album Hot Pink , but it was canceled due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She was also set to open for The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn Tour last year but pulled out due to necessary tonsil surgery , she revealed via Twitter in May 2022.

However, according to the lyrics of her latest single "Attention," it seems she exited the tour in favor of headlining her own shows. "I could've been an opener / I redirect the bookin'," she raps on the track, believed to be the first song from her next album, which she's been teasing.

"I’ve been reconnecting with the music that I was raised listening to; Erykah Badu , John Coltrane, Nineties hip hop…the music that influenced me as a kid. I think my new music will bring some of that inspiration forward," Doja Cat recently told reporters including PEOPLE at the Patrón El Cielo launch party in New York City.

About Doja Cat:

GRAMMY award-winning global superstar Doja Cat made her first upload to Soundcloud in 2013 at just 16 years old . Having grown up in and around the LA area, she developed a knack for music by studying piano and dance as a kid and listening to the likes of Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and more. Signed to Kemosabe/RCA Records in 2014, she released her Purrr! EP and followed that with her debut album Amala in spring 2018, but it was her August 2018 release of “MOOO!” which catapulted her into the mainstream and was met with critical acclaim.

Doja Cat released her sophomore GRAMMY-nominated platinum album Hot Pink in November 2019 to mass critical acclaim; the album has garnered over 6 billion streams worldwide. It features “Streets”, the viral sensation that soundtracked the ‘Silhouette Challenge,’ one of the biggest TikTok trends to date and her GRAMMY-nominated #1 smash record “Say So” which has been RIAA certified 6x platinum and catapulted Doja into global superstardom.

With over 20 billion worldwide streams to date, Doja’s creativity and showmanship as a performer have been praised time and time again, she has delivered unique and show-stopping performances on nearly all the major Award Show stages and music festivals throughout the world. Doja Cat’s GRAMMY award-winning album Planet Her came out in June 2021 and dominated the charts, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and generated the highest first day Spotify streams for an album by a female rapper. GRAMMY award-winning “Kiss Me More” ft. SZA, the lead single off Planet Her is certified 5x platinum by the RIAA and hit #1 at Top 40 and Rhythm radio with over 2.2 billion streams worldwide. That fall, Doja Cat became the first rapper to have 3 songs in the Top 10 at Top 40 radio. Last year, “Woman” went to the top of the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay charts which ascended her to become the first women to have four #1 hits from one album, other hits including “You Right” with The Weeknd and “Need to Know.” She went on to land at #1 on the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time. Amongst others, Doja has won 5 AMAs, 5 Billboard Music Award, 3 MTV VMAs, 3 BMI Awards, 2 MTV EMAs, 1 GRAMMY Award and 1 NAACP Image Award along with garnering a total of 16 GRAMMY Award nominations. Additionally, Doja has been nominated for 20 Billboard Music Awards, 10 MTV VMAs, 9 AMAs, 9 BET Awards, 8 MTV EMAs, 5 BMI Awards and dozens more. Most recently, Doja was named one of TIME100’s Most Influential People of 2023, where she was featured on the cover issue in April 2023 as well as performed at the TIME100 Gala in New York City.

Doja Cat last released a new album, "Planet Her," in 2021, but she's been teasing more new music is on its way. On June 16, she released a new single, "Attention," which is the first song from her upcoming album "First of All." The "Woman" singer previously called her "Planet Her" and "Hot Pink" albums "cash-grabs" in a since-deleted May 9 tweet. In an earlier tweet, she hinted her new music is set to be far more personal than the songs she previously released .

When a fan asked her when she decided to make music for herself instead of others in a May 7 tweet, she responded, "After coachella when I felt so tired of doing a bunch of sh*t i didn't believe in and not telling my side or my story with my music." She added, "When I realized I hadn't done anything personal and that i was cranking out digestible pop hits for children on twitter to get into fights about."

Butta

Doja Cat is coming to an arena near you. The GRAMMY Award-winner is leveling up with the news that she’ll be heading out on her first headlining arena tour entitled The Scarlet Tour later this year with Doechii and Ice Spice coming along for the ride.

Live Nation is producing The Scarlet Tour for Doja, and she’s hitting the first stage on Halloween. She’ll treat San Francisco to a few of her tricks on October 31st before breezing across North America through December. Amongst the 24 cities she’ll visit are Las Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, D.C., Newark, Minneapolis, Omaha and Toronto. The tour is scheduled to end on December 13th with its finale in Chicago.

“Persuasive” rapper/singer Doechii will alternate opening act duties with “Munch” rapper Ice Spice. Each artist will join Doja for a dozen dates, with Doechii holding it down for the first half of the tour and Ice Spice performing on the second half.

The announcement of The Scarlet Tour comes on the heels of Doja Cat dropping her latest single “Attention.” The artist who became a pop star with Planet Her has started her next album cycle and is leaning more into hip-hop this go-round. That’s all we know about the new album thus far, but we’re confident that it will be here by the time the tour starts so that fans can sing and rap along to all her new songs.

If that sounds like your kinda carrying on, advance registration for tickets is required on Ticketmaster by Sunday, June 25th at 10 p.m. PT. People who pre-register will be randomly chosen to receive a special code for ticket presales, which will occur on Wednesday, June 28th. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 30th at 10 a.m. local time.

About Doja Cat

Grammy® award-winning global superstar Doja Cat made her first upload to Soundcloud in 2013 at just 16 years old.

Doja Cat released her sophomore Grammy®-nominated platinum album Hot Pink in November 2019 to mass critical acclaim; the album has garnered over six billion streams worldwide. It features “Streets,” the viral sensation that soundtracked the ‘Silhouette Challenge,’ one of the biggest TikTok trends to date and her Grammy®-nominated #1 smash record “Say So” which has been RIAA certified 6x platinum and catapulted Doja into global superstardom.

With over 20 billion worldwide streams to date, Doja’s creativity and showmanship as a performer have been praised time and time again, she has delivered unique and show-stopping performances on nearly all the major Award Show stages and music festivals throughout the world. Doja Cat’s Grammy® award-winning album Planet Her came out in June 2021 and dominated the charts, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Top R&B Albums chart and #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and generated the highest first day Spotify streams for an album by a female rapper. Grammy® award-winning “Kiss Me More” ft. SZA, the lead single off Planet Her is certified 5x platinum by the RIAA and hit #1 at Top 40 and Rhythm radio with over 2.2 billion streams worldwide. That fall, Doja Cat became the first rapper to have three songs in the Top 10 at Top 40 radio. Amongst others, Doja has won five AMAs, five Billboard Music Award, three MTV VMAs, three BMI Awards, two MTV EMAs, one Grammy® Award and one NAACP Image Award along with garnering a total of 16 Grammy® Award nominations. Additionally, Doja has been nominated for 20 Billboard Music Awards, 10 MTV VMAs, nine AMAs, nine BET Awards, eight MTV EMAs, five BMI Awards and dozens more. Most recently, Doja was named one of TIME100’s Most Influential People of 2023, where she was featured on the cover issue in April 2023 as well as performed at the TIME100 Gala in New York City.

Will Doja Cat Have Surprise Guests At Coachella 2024 Weekend 2?

Lexi Lane

Doja Cat is heading back to Coachella for weekend two of the festival, as she’ll take the stage this Sunday. Given she went all out with having a giant T-rex on stage and her dancers wearing wigs for costumes, it was one not to miss.

Those who are just now heading to the California festival, or are returning for the second (and last) weekend, might be wondering what they can expect from Doja’s set when they see her. Specifically, if she will be bringing out any other musicians to play with.

Here’s what to know.

During Doja’s weekend one performance , she brought out The Joy for “Shutcho,” 21 Savage for a cover of his song “N.H.I.E.,” Teezo Touchdown for “Masc,” and ASAP Rocky for “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” — with her full setlist available here . While it’s not yet confirmed if she’ll be having the same guests back this weekend, there’s a large chance she’ll be welcoming at least one surprise guest, whether it’s a returning one or a new addition to treat the crowd to.

Throughout her set, Doja also played 21 songs in total, so she has plenty of room to toss in some surprises. No matter what she has in store, it is sure to be another buzzy and entertaining Coachella run for her.

Doja Cat live at Coachella: an off-the-wall spectacular

April 14, Indio, California: despite a muted crowd response, the rapper puts on one of the most creative sets of the festival

“Express yourself,” a whispered voice hushes through the main stage as the lights flicker. Doja Cat is about to take to the main stage to headline the final night of Coachella 2024, and when she emerges at the end of the runway in a hazmat suit, you know she’s going to do as those two words say.

  • READ MORE:  Coachella 2024 liveblog day three: Doja Cat, Justin Bieber and all the news from Sunday

For the rapper, expressing herself often means doing things others might not – either because her form of expression is too off-the-wall for the rest of the world or too controversial. Tonight, she proves the former spirit is well and truly alive, bringing a touch of brilliant weirdness to the desert.

After the opening two songs, she takes off the white suit that leaves only her face visible to reveal a body suit covered in long locks of blonde hair. Ominous tones roll out over the field as she crawls up to the main stage before ‘Demons’ cuts in, and she’s joined by dancers dressed in yeti costumes. If these are the demons she’s rapping about, they don’t look too bad – cuddly, almost – and she embraces them fully, climbing on one’s shoulders to deliver the final parts of the track.

This is just the beginning of the Doja Cat spectacle tonight, which includes multiple outfit changes and stage antics that get increasingly madcap. After a commanding ‘Tia Tamera’, she disappears behind a curtain, only her silhouette visible, as the buzzing sound of an electric razor whirrs, and she pretends to shave off the thigh-length blonde hair she’s been whipping around until now. When she emerges, she sports a shaved head and a look that can only be described as high fashion cyborg.

Doja Cat

As the performance enters its final throes, she’s joined by a very special, unusual guest – the gigantic skeleton of a dinosaur. It rolls down the runway after her as she airs ‘WYM Freestyle’, looking like she’s about to be its next victim. Before the track is up, though, it appears to decide Doja is too formidable an opponent and retreats back to where it came from.

Formidable is exactly what the star is tonight, crafting a fiery set that bounces through her rap-focused songs and never lets the energy drop. ‘OKLOSER’, which gets its live debut tonight, is an infectious highlight, while ‘Balut’ drops the tempo to something a little more soulful but still powerful. When she brings out living human guests to join her on stage, she doesn’t come close to being overshadowed.

21 Savage appears for ’n.h.i.e.’, while Teezo Touchdown ups the weird, vocalising into a flower that seems to require his whole head to be submerged in its petals. A$AP Rocky makes his second appearance of the weekend for a ferocious ‘URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!’, trading bars with his host from the top of a scaffolding tower. Earlier in the evening, South African a cappella group The Joy bring light to ‘Shutcho’.

It’s unfortunate that the crowd tonight isn’t much bigger than it is – or that, other than the fans down the front, its energy isn’t far higher. Sure, it’s the final night of the weekend and the chilly desert winds are roaring, but the reception for Doja is disappointingly flat. Perhaps that’s because she doesn’t give the casual viewers what they want – her pop hits. There is no ‘Say So’ in this set, nor a rendition of ‘Kiss Me More’ – with or without a cameo from SZA . ‘Paint The Town Red’, her latest smash, is saved until the penultimate track in the setlist, but even when its opening notes drop, the response is muted.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by NME (@nmemagazine)

Regardless, Doja sticks to her guns throughout and closes the performance in the kind of way that leaves the audience confused. After a brief break from the stage, the rapper reappears back at the end of the runway, which has now turned into a ring full of slimy, grey mud. She and her dancers get stuck into the mess as she closes the set with ‘Wet Vagina’, somehow not slipping and sliding through it but nailing the choreography.

As Doja strides back to the main stage and blows a kiss goodbye, the crowd hesitates, wondering, “Is that it?” They get their answer when the lights finally go out – a subdued ending, perhaps, but one that comes after 90 minutes of pure pageantry.

Doja Cat played:

‘Acknowledge Me’ ‘Shutcho’ ‘Demons’ ‘Tia Tamera’ ‘Fuck The Girls (FTG)’ ‘Gun’ ‘OKLOSER’ ‘Ouchies ‘n.h.i.e.’ ‘Attention’ ’97’ ‘Balut’ ‘Need To Know’ ‘MASC’ ‘Streets’ ‘Agora Hills’ ‘Ain’t Shit’ ‘WYM Freestyle’ ‘URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!’ ‘Paint The Town Red’ ‘Wet Vagina’

Coachella 2024: Doja Cat delivers arty headlining set, A$AP Rocky appears as special guest

doja cat tour special guest

Two years after her previous performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Doja Cat returned on Sunday as a headliner and upstaged her 2022 performance.

The rapper and singer started off her arty set by singing “Acknowledge Me” on a podium behind the soundboard at the main Coachella Stage while donning a white hazmat suit.

The transition to “Shutcho,” led by the five male singers of South African acapella group The Joy (also dressed in white), revealed a nuclear power plant setting on the Coachella Stage.

More: Coachella 2024: Here is the full set list from Doja Cat's headlining performance

Always the visual artist, Doja Cat’s long blonde hair blended into her wardrobe during “Demons,” which included her backup dancers appearing as yeti-like figures moving frantically as flames shot up across the stage.

Doja’s prowess during “F**k the Girls (FTG)” turned to sexually alluring during “Gun” and “OKLOSER” simulating the acts while in white lingerie and thigh-high boots with her male dancers.

The first special guest of the set was 21 Savage, who performed “n.h.i.e.” Her shift to a funny top and bikini bottom didn’t accommodate for the chill in the desert wind blowing through during “Attention.”

“97” and “Balut” shifted to a 1920s vibe as the two steel rafters of the set shifted forward hanging above her with 10 dancers in black as she rapped in a long white fur coat with a cigarette holder.

Teezo Touchdown emerged during “MASC” in spiked football shoulder pads before she finally acknowledged the crowd nearly an hour into the set while carrying what appeared to be a bottle of whiskey to one of the floating rafters sitting on the stage, which she smashed as fireworks shot up in the air and she ascended to the top of the stage for “Streets.”

The skeleton of a large T-Rex appeared during "WYM Freestyle" and followed her as she walked down the catwalk before A$AP Rocky came out for “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!”

As she headed towards the finish line with hit “Paint The Town Red” and moved back to the round podium, it was transformed into a real mud wrestling ring with her female dancers for “Wet Vagina,” and much of the crowd started to head out of the festival.

While the dancers twerked in the mud and she headed back to the stage, fireworks filled the sky, which marked the finale and closed Weekend 1 of the festival.

Even though the set wasn’t heavy on guests, Doja Cat’s artistry as both a singer and rapper shined from start to finish.

Doja Cat at Coachella

Doja Cat at Coachella 2024: everything you need to know, including start time

The singer and rapper headlines Sunday night of Coachella.

Michael Juliano

We’re not the only ones who’ve never been able to get “Mooo!” out of our heads, right? But singer and rapper Doja Cat has come a long way since her days as a cow, infiltrating pop radio with her silky retro-futuristic bangers and becoming a mainstay of music festivals —including this year’s  Coachella .

Before she steps on the stage, here’s everything you need to know about Doja Cat’s headlining set at Coachella this year.

When is Doja Cat playing at Coachella this year?

She’ll be performing on Sunday, April 21, during the fest’s second weekend (she already played on Sunday, April 14, during the first).

What time will she come on stage?

10:25pm on Sunday, according to the scheduled start time for the second weekend of the festival. It’s worth mentioning that there’s a midnight curfew (that the festival has sometimes cruised past).

What will the setlist look like?

Of course, we don’t know the setlist in advance, but we can look at the setlist from her first weekend performance as a  pretty good  predictor. For starters, Doja Cat toured pretty extensively until the end of 2023 in support of last year’s Scarlet , and like that tour her first weekend set was mostly filled with tracks from it. The 21-song set included “Tia Tamera” and “Need to Know”—but didn’t include “Say So,” “Juicy” and “Kiss Me More,” all of which are among her most frequently performed songs.

What special guests might show up?

There’s no guarantee the same guests will appear during the second weekend, but for the first the Joy joined her on “Shutcho,” 21 Savage performed “n.h.i.e.,” Teezo Touchdown came on for “MASC” and A$AP Rocky appeared on “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!”

Has Doja Cat ever played Coachella before?

Yes, and pretty recently. She had the second-to-last slot at the Coachella Stage on Sunday of the 2022 festival  (which was itself a makeup of sorts for the canceled 2020 fest  she was supposed to play). Tyga, Shonka Dukureh and Rico Nasty all shared the stage with her during that performance.

How can I stream Doja Cat’s set?

The live stream schedule  for Sunday says that you’ll be able to watch her perform on the Coachella Stage feed below at 10:25pm.

What’s the rest of the weekend’s schedule like?

On the two main stages, Doja Cat will follow J Balvin and Jhené Aiko. She’ll be playing at the same time as BICEP in the Mojave tent, John Summit in the Sahara tent and ARTBAT in the Yuma tent. As for the rest of the  lineup , Lana Del Rey  headlines Friday of the fest while No Doubt  and Tyler, the Creator  top Sunday. You can check out the full festival schedule for the second weekend below.

Doja Cat, Blur, Sabrina Carpenter among Coachella 2024 highs and lows

Collage of Coachella performers Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Blur's Damon Albarn and Sabrina Carpenter

Coachella , one of America's biggest msuic festivals, and arguably the most internet-famous, has wrapped up for another year.

ICYMI, the first weekend had its share of surprises (and flops) and although the event always repeats the line-up for a second weekend, that doesn't always mean the same big moments.

This year's headliners Lana Del Rey , Tyler, the Creator and Doja Cat all found ways to mix up their performances, while Blur and Grimes addressed talking points around their sets.

Here's all the highs and lows, hits and misses from the second weekend. Consider it the next best thing to baking under the Indio, California sun with a bunch of influencers and Zoomers.

Grimes' redemptive DJ set

Grimes had something to prove after a disastrous first weekend that saw the Canadian electronic artist formally apologising for technical issues plaguing her set at the outdoor Sahara stage.

"I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHAT HAPPENED AND IT WONT HAPPEN AGAIN," she promised her more than 2.5 million Instagram followers . She also vowed to "cap the disarray" and wondered "if there's ever been a more rehearsed or fine tuned Grimes set" in a post on X (the platform run by the father of her three children, Elon Musk).

Grimes also made fun of her first weekend troubles with a self-deprecating 'breaking news' style video that opened her Saturday evening show.

Reworking the majority of her set, Grimes remixed her own music as well as splicing together BLACKPINK song Whistle with Solo by BLACKPINK member Jennie and Rihanna.

Judging by the court of public opinion (i.e. social media), Grimes won back a lot of good will but it wasn't entirely flawless — she still managed to fudge a few playbacks.

Doja Cat makes Coachella history

"Dojchella" began trending on X shortly after the 28-year-old's closing Sunday night performance – a blockbuster spectacle with stunning costumes, sharp choreography and even a raunchy mud pit sequence.

The first female rapper to headline Coachella, and second Black woman after Beyoncé's 2018 performance , Doja Cat took cues from Beychella, crafting visuals for those watching the online stream as much as those standing in the field.

The Hottest 100 topping artist also triumphed through technical difficulties, professionally moving through some microphone mishaps without letting it fluster her during FTG (F*** The Girls).

The set drew heavily from Doja Cat's 2023 album Scarlet, a departure from her earlier pop and R&B stylings towards rap. Admirably, she eschewed her most familiar songs – such as Say So, Kiss Me More, or even viral hit Moo – in favour of flexing tough bars and her commanding presence.

Lana Del Rey brings out Camila Cabello

Bringing out a special guest (or several) to spice up a set has become Coachella tradition, and after roping in Billie Eilish last week , Lana Del Rey welcomed Camila Cabello to the stage for Friday's headlining set to perform her new single I Luv it.

A pivot into hyperpop featuring a guest verse from Playboi Carti , I Luv It is already one of 2024's most divisive hits but Del Rey is evidently a fan.

"This is my girl. I have so much fun with her. I love this song to death," Del Rey told the audience. "Thank you so much, angel."

The feeling was more than mutual, with Cabello taking to X post-performance for a series of posts heaping praise on Lana.

"I don't really know who I would be without female artists like her who show me what's possible," she wrote .

"How to be free. How to be hard and soft at the same time. How to make your life a work of art. Thank you for including us in your moment last night. I am at your service forever my girl."

Kid Cudi breaks foot after jumping off stage

Whoopsie! A late addition to the second weekend (replacing Vampire Weekend), the singer-rapper had to cut his set short after he excitedly leaped from the stage and injured himself.

"Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show," Cudi confirmed wrote on X post-show.

"Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love y'all man. I heard y'all still ragin' when I was offstage. Made me smile big."

Kid Cudi aired two new songs – Moon Man Shit and Blue Sky – before taking his fall during a performance of his 2009 David Guetta collaboration Memories.

Tyler, the Creator reunites with Earl Sweatshirt

Last weekend, Tyler brought out Childish Gamibno, A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, and Kali Uchis during his headlining set. On Saturday, he satisfied long-term fans with an appearance from his childhood friend and fellow rapper, Earl Sweatshirt.

Getting their big break coming up together as key members of controversial hip hop collective Odd Future, the two artists joined forces on the main stage for a rare showing of a couple of fan favourites.

Sweatshirt joined for the first performance in a decade of AssMilk – a collaboration from Tyler's 2009 mixtape Bastard – and Rusty, from Tyler's 2013 album Wolf.

Aussies Rüfüs Du Sol tease new music

ARIA and Grammy award winning electronic trio Rüfüs Du Sol are no strangers to the Californian desert, it's where they created parts of their third album Surrender .

On Friday, the Sydney-bred trio returned to Coachella to play the Quasar stage – a new stage dedicated to house and techno music – and previewed new material from an upcoming full-length studio project.

The group are taking cues from the dance music of their youth – Moby, Daft Punk and Justice — and told Rolling Stone : "We're exploring more ideas, drawing influence from more genres without being too over-analytical…"

Damon Albarn says Blur at Coachella was "probably our last gig"

Last weekend was Blur's first big American show in nearly a decade but unfortunately, the crowd's response to the Britpop legends wasn't great . It was bad enough that a visibly frustrated Damon Albarn lambasted the audience during Girls & Boys: "You're never seeing us again so you might as well f***ing sing this."

For the second weekend, Albarn addressed the elephant in the room. "This is the truth of Coachella isn't it? The second week is music fans, people who appreciate music."

Before closing number Tender, Albarn said: "In the spirit of clarity and truth, this is probably our last gig." He added the decision was "no reflection on Coachella – I love Coachalla, it's beautiful."

Last year, Blur released The Ballad of Darren , their second reunion album after surprise 2015 comeback The Magic Whip . But, by December, and a run of festival shows, Albarn said he was already prepared to "wrap up this campaign."

"It's too much for me" he told French publication Les Inrockuptibles . "It was the right thing to do and an immense honor to play these songs again, spend time with these guys, make an album, blah blah blah… I'm not saying I won't do it again. It was a beautiful success, but I'm not dwelling on the past."

Sabrina Carpenter flirts with Barry Keoghan, brings out Norah Jones

Irish actor Barry Keoghan and American pop singer Sabrina Carpenter are currently dating, which might've been obvious to anyone who caught footage of the Saltburn star filming the latter in action at Coachella last weekend.

Well, Carpenter made things a little more explicit for weekend two.

The 23-year-old has made a viral trend out of inserting new lyrics to the outro of her 2022 single Nonsense during her concerts. Playing on the main stage on Friday evening, she nodded to Barry's very NSFW scene from Saltburn while also staking a claim for a future line-up bump at the festival.

Earlier in the set, Carpenter invited out Norah Jones for a duet of the latter's triple Grammy winning song Don't Know Why, which Sabrina explained she fell in love with at age seven.

Lil Nas X joins Kevin Abstract to debut new collaboration

Kevin Abstract, solo artist and former ringleader of hip hop collective Brockhampton , surprised fans during his set by bringing out Lil Nas X.

"He means a lot to me and he means a lot to the culture and I'm very lucky to know him," Abstract said of the Old Town Road and Montero hit-maker. Together, they premiered a new song titled 'Tennessee'.

"This like the gay Watch the Throne, you feel me?" Abstract said onstage, jokingly referring to Kanye West and Jay-Z's 2011 collaborative album. He later tweeted a snippet of the studio version with the same caption.

Coachella weekend 2: Kid Cudi breaks a foot, Doja Cat makes history and an Odd Future reunion

Kid Cudi performs during Day 3 of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.

Coachella has officially come to a close after two weekends full of special guests, embarrassing flops and lots of music .

The music festival, which takes place in Indio, California, saw a slump in ticket sales this year, but fans were still excited to watch their favorite artists take over the desert.

From an Odd Future reunion to Kid Cudi’s broken foot, here were the highs and lows of the final weekend of this year’s festival.

Kid Cudi broke his foot after jumping off the stage

Fans were pleasantly surprised when multihyphenate artist Kid Cudi was added to the Coachella lineup right before the start of weekend two. Unfortunately, Cudi’s act was cut short after he broke his foot while jumping from the stage Sunday.

“Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show,” Cudi posted on X . “just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy.  I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!!  I love yall man.  I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage.  Made me smile big.”

Tyler, the Creator brought out longtime collaborator Earl Sweatshirt

Tyler, the Creator’s recent albums “Call Me if You Get Lost” and “Igor” have catapulted him to a new level of acclaim. But many longtime Tyler fans found him during his days in the rap collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All — better known by the shorthand Odd Future.

Tyler, the Creator brought out his fellow Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt to perform a couple songs from their early days, one from Tyler’s 2009 mixtape “Bastard” and another from his 2013 album “Wolf.”

“Tyler, the f---ing Creator, man,” Earl Sweatshirt said onstage. “Look at the biggest show on Earth.”

Some fans had hoped for another Odd Future cameo: Frank Ocean, who headlined Coachella in 2023.

But Tyler, the Creator said he didn’t know where the artist was. While introducing his song “She,” which features Ocean, the rapper told the audience to sing Ocean’s part because he was “not coming out.”

“We don’t know where [Ocean] is, so it’s on y’all,” he said.

Doja Cat made history as the first female rapper to headline

“Dojchella” trended on X after the rapper concluded her final headlining Coachella set. Doja Cat delighted fans with her signature eccentric performance style , avant-garde outfit changes and sharp choreography. Some even praised her improvisation skills following a missing microphone mishap .

Doja Cat was the first female rapper and second Black woman to headline the music festival, following Beyoncé’s performance in 2018.

Grimes redeemed herself after a disastrous first weekend

Grimes’ second weekend DJ set seemed to go off without a hitch after facing major technical difficulties during her first run.

The electropop artist poked fun at her weekend one meltdown, opening her set with a series of fake news clips “investigating” the cause of the malfunctions. She played clips of herself screaming in frustration alongside quips that “she can’t DJ.” The rest of her set went smoothly, and fans even praised her remix of a Blackpink song .

Inside Coachella 2024's biggest moments

By Caitlin O'Kane

April 23, 2024 / 2:29 PM EDT / CBS News

Coachella 2024 has officially wrapped after two back-to-back weekends of partying in the desert. No Doubt performed on both weekends, bringing out a surprise guest during their first show. Other celebrities also made headlines, including Kid Cudi and Doja Cat. Here are the top five moments from Coachella.

1. No Doubt brings out surprise guest

No Doubt played on both Saturdays of the music festival. The band, led by Gwen Stefani, hadn't performed together in nearly 10 years and sang their greatest hits like "Just A Girl," and "Don't Speak." During their first performance, on April 13, they brought out Olivia Rodrigo for their song "Bathwater."

Rodrigo, 21, posted about the momentous occasion on social media, saying it was "the coolest honor" to perform with the band. "I remember hearing bathwater for the first time when I had just started writing songs. it totally turned my world on its head and inspires me to this day," she wrote.

During the second weekend, which kicked off on April 19, the band didn't bring out any special guests – but Stefani had some waiting for her back stage. She was seen on the Coachella live stream embracing husband Blake Shelton and her 10-year-old son, Apollo, after the show.

2. Doja Cat makes history

Doja Cat, 28, headlined both Sunday shows, becoming the first Black female rapper to do so in the  festival's 25-year history. In 2018 Beyonce became the first Black female artist to headline Coachella.

Doja Cat, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, sang her hits like "Paint The Town Red" and her new single "MASC" and brought out South African a cappella group The Joy to sing her song "Shutcho."

She also brought out A$AP Rocky and 21 Savage. Sticking with her signature avante garde style, she wore long flowing hair and had hairy backup dancers for one of her performances.

3. Kid Cudi breaks his foot

Kid Cudi performed during the festival on April 21, but his energetic performance ended abruptly. The rapper, 40, needed to be carried away by security after jumping off the stage. His performance was cut short,  according to Entertainment Tonight, and he later confirmed his injury on social media.

"Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show. just leavin the hospital," he wrote. "Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. nI wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!!  I love yall man.  I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage.  Made me smile big."

4. Lana Del Rey enters on a motorcycle

Lana Del Rey headlined the Friday shows, entering the venue on a motorcycle – and clips of the epic entrance went viral on social media. The singer performed hits like "Summertime Sadness" and "Young and Beautiful." She also brought out Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste and Jack Antonoff, a frequent collaborator.

Her set, however, may have been too long. The City of Indio, where Coachella takes place, will fine the music festival $28,000 for breaking the city's curfew after Del Rey's set went 13 minutes over last week, TMZ first reported.  CBS News has reached out to the City of Indio for more information and is awaiting response.

5. Tyler the Creator's special guests and Odd Future reunion

Tyler the Creator, who headlined the Saturday shows, brought out Donald Glover – aka Childish Gambino – and A$AP Rocky to perform with him during the first weekend. He also invited Earl Sweatshirt out on weekend two. The pair were part of the music collective Odd Future, a group of rappers and hip hop artists who collaborated together from 2007 to 2016.

Other performers also brought out special guests, including Renee Rapp, who brought out Kesha to sing her 2010 song "Tik Tok."

Some famous faces were seen in the crowd at the festival – including Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
