I've been working out an itinerary with easyTravel for the past couple weeks. I've had a great experience so far but am getting a strange vibe about them from other posters as well as other outfitters I've contacted to compare.

They're rated so highly on TA. What gives? Anyone have personal experience with them - good or bad???

We had a FABULOUS experience with Easy Travel. Musaddiq answered our (zillion) questions to our satisfaction and we always felt that he was trying to make sure we had a great experience, rather than just selling us something.

Easy Travel wasn't the cheapest quote, but they were in the lower part of mid-range and provided excellent value for the price paid.

Our guide was Emmilian and I can't imagine how anyone could have been better. Unfailingly calm and good humored, took pride in his work, and was amazing at sighting wildlife.

The 4 of us recommend Easy Travel wholeheartedly.

If you don't mind me asking, what ultimately made you decide to go with them?

We contacted Ted (I think) 8 TOs, eliminated the cheapest and the 2 that were WAY more expensive, one that was argumentative, one that didn't listen to our requests.

Once we got down to the last 3, we suspected any of them would be fine.

I think the "vibe" you might be picking up probably has more to do with the strange treatment this company and a hand full of others receive from Trip Advisor.

The policies of Trip Advisor regarding tour operators are not applied very consistently when it comes to reviews of Safaris. So there is resentment from other companies about this point as Easy Travel is one of the 10 or 12 companies that TA turns a blind eye and leaves reviews that don't meet the guidelines established by Trip Advisor. A few years back several large companies hand hundred of reviews removed for this very reason, so they are a bit bitter with TA. Anyway, you are better to ask about real experience from past travelers.

When doing research and reading reviews ask people for their telephone numbers and ring them up. TA accounts don't require verification which means it is easy to manipulate. Emails can be sent from anyplace. But a telephone number has a country code, so you can know if the story fits and it is often fun to speak with people in real life.

you are correct! Although I don't have any bad feelings for Easy Travel, although I think we were the first to have our 80 odd reviews removed back in June 2012.. TA just refused over many years to listen to us regarding this.

Personally I would say if looking for recommendations for good TO's I would read the reviews posted on the thread pinned to the top of this page or do a "search" for each company on the forum.
