What to Wear in Goa

If you’re planning a Goa trip anytime soon, and wondering what to pack, you’re in the right place! Here I’ve created a full guide on what to wear in Goa, including packing list and outfit ideas! Also, I’m gonna add in a lot of tips on what NOT to wear in Goa, too!

cara_delevingne_ham_swimwear_collection_2011

So let’s go!

Goa Dressing Tips: Things to Keep in Mind While Planning Outfits & Packing

1. It’s really easy to rent a car or two wheeler in Goa. Goa is not exactly a backpacking destination, so it’s not necessary to pack light! So feel free to carry your cute accessories and dresses!

2. Before going to any destination it’s important to check the weather in advance so that you can plan accordingly. The weather in Goa is almost always hot, so Goa dress code is summer clothing (more on that below). What do you want to check is whether it’s the rainy season, or dry and check the temperatures before you start your packing.

3. Planning the accessories is very important when planning what to wear in Goa. Jewelry is almost unnecessary at the beach, since the humidity and sand will ruin most metals. Plus, wearing jewelry can make swimming in the sea or playing at the beach very uncomfortable. And if you’re carrying small stud earrings, there’s a very high chance they’ll slip off and you’ll lose them in the sea. So avoid carrying any expensive/ delicate pieces or metal jewelry.

shilpa ahuja sky blue dress bag tote hobo travel venice look

Your Goa accessories should be inspired by the local weather. So you can carry shell, bead or acrylic jewelry, which can withstand the humidity and looks more tropical weather appropriate.

4. Same for handbags. Absolutely avoid faux-leather, since the humidity will ruin the finish, and they seem really inappropriate at the beach. So carry fabric, jute or plastic/plexi bags. Go for cross-body bags since they are comfortable and leave you hands-free for your beach time.

You can also go for a tote bag if you’re going to be out all day at the beach. Your tote can your beach towel, shopping items and other paraphernalia. Or leave everything at your hotel and just carry your phone in a waterproof belt-pouch!

5. Footwear is very important for any tropical vacation. Your shoes should be as comfortable and beach friendly as possible. Ideally, they should be the shoes that you don’t mind losing! If you wanna know what to wear in Goa, flip-flops and open toe sandals are the best choice for beaches. So if I were planning a Goa trip, my first task would be to go buy a really cute pair of flip-flops that can go with most of my sun-dresses!

shilpa_ahuja_look_mint_green_dress_maxi_slit_belt_train_australia_kuranda_railway_blue_heels_walking

If you want to carry heels for a day outing, sightseeing or night outs at Tito’s, etc. Go for open-toe wedges, preferably espadrilles.

If you like closed-toe shoes, try boat shoes. Although, open-toe shoes are the best idea since they are easy to clean and dry in case water or sand gets in. Even if you’re not at the beach at all times, streets and markets in Goa can be pretty sandy and may have puddles. Also, it’s best to be dressed for impromptu plans or long walks when you’re on vacation. It makes you feel more carefree and have more fun!

6. You will need lots of day-to-night outfits, especially if you’re living far from the beaches. While traveling, it’s really common to be out all day, right after breakfast and return to your hotel only post dinner. So plan your outfits accordingly. They should be suitable for multiple activities.

What to Wear in Goa: Women’s Outfit Ideas

Polyester/nylon shorts + tank top.

I personally prefer cotton, but if you’re gonna be at the beach for long, you want quick drying outfits. So it’s a great idea to avoid cotton and go for nylon instead. You can be comfortable after swimming in the beach even if you don’t have a chance to change immediately. Tank tops are great for beach sports or lounging. They’re so comfortable and easy to style!

Crop vest + spaghetti + skort

Skorts or divided skirts are a great idea when you want to look cute but be comfortable. Pairing them with a vest gives your outfit the layered look that can help hide love handles or other problem areas!

Sundress + espadrilles

If you’re going for tropical vacation, a sundress is a must. Sundresses are extremely comfortable and cute and personally, I really love them! Pair them with wedges or espadrilles for a very summery look. If you’re wondering what to wear in Goa for plus size women, sundresses or divided skirts are great ideas.

Culottes + crop top

Culottes are more comfortable at the beach than palazzo pants, since they’re cropped, and you don’t have to worry about them getting muddy. So go for a cool pair and add a crop top, bandeau top or off-the-shoulder top! Culottes can even work as airport looks.

Bikini + Kaftan

This is the quintessential vacation look! If you’re not bold enough to wear a bikini, go for a monokini or one-piece bathing suit. And you need a sexy cover-up, so Kaftan is a great idea! Alternatively, you can opt for a long shirt or cover-up.

honeymoon-shopping-sexy-comfortable-outfit-net-swimsuit-coverup-bikini

Flowy maxi dress + flats

If you love long skirts or dresses, it’s a great idea to carry something light-weight, since you can wear it both at the beach or while doing street shopping. They’re also a great idea for visiting churches or while sightseeing. So pair them with open-toe flats and create a great outfit for your daytime activities.

Scarf dress

I love scarf dresses and they’re always in style. Mini scarf dresses give serious summer vacation vibes and suit every body type. So go for a colorful belted scarf dress and pair it with flip-flops for those pool parties and shack dinner dates! They are great day-to-night outfits and look great in pictures!

Beach dress

Beach dresses come in many different styles, such as halter neck, strapless, off-the-shoulder, bodycon or flared. Personally, I love me a cute halter cotton beach dress any day! Bright colors and I’m all in! Pair yours with flip-flops for the beach or sneakers for daytime sight-seeing trips.

Some other pieces you can carry are comfortable cotton capris, sleeveless tops, baby-doll tops and body-con dresses.

If you’re wondering what to wear in Goa in February or December , go for tops or tees with culottes or capri tights. Carry a light-weight jacket in a quick-dry material, or a sweater. Washable scarves and water-proof/washable sneakers can be good accessories.

Clothes to Avoid in Goa

While summer vacation dressing can be really easy, it’s still possible to go wrong. There are certain pieces of clothing that just feel inappropriate at a tropical vacation destination such as Goa. Here’s what to avoid when it comes to Goa dress code:

Jeans : While a pair of jeans seems inevitable to pack for any vacation or trip, jeans can be really uncomfortable and itchy at the beach. Because they are cotton, they take a really long time to dry and can get muddy at the beach. Skinny jeans may even be tough to fold up, and loose ones can look shapeless.

Denim dress : Same reason, denim takes a long time to dry and it can feel heavy and look bad when wet.

Jacket : This really depends on the time of the year you’re going in. From March to September, wearing a jacket will feel really unnecessary and unfashionable. However, during the winter months you may need a light-weight jacket. And you may also want to carry one for your flight in case you get cold.

Mini skirt : While miniskirts may be great for sightseeing during the summer months, they are not very versatile when it comes to beach vacations. They won’t allow you to sit at the beach without being self-conscious! They don’t allow freedom of movement for your seaside activities. That’s why they don’t make for day-to-night outfits that you need in Goa. They may work for pool parties or just beach-side walks.

Leggings and pantyhose : If you’re uncomfortable wearing shorts or mini dresses, you may feel that adding a pair of leggings or pantyhose may make it more comfortable for you. However, it may get even more uncomfortable with tights since you may not be able to find a good place to change before you go swimming in the sea.

Plus, they can even get itchy or cause infections if you don’t change them after your time at the beach. Leggings can actually be a good idea in the winter months, when you don’t want your legs to get cold.

Tight maxi dresses : Something tight like a body-con dress can feel pretty uncomfortable at the beach if you’re unable to sit in it.

Cocktail dress : Save these for parties in the city. Unless you’re going to a really fancy wedding or gala, a cocktail dress would feel inappropriate, even for beach parties in Goa.

Palazzo pants : Wondering what to wear in Goa from your existing wardrobe? Well, palazzos are not the best answer. As I mentioned before, they can get sandy and sticky at the beach, and outside in case of puddles or what-not.

High heels like pumps or stilettos : While wedges and flats give vacation vibes, pencil heels can just seem out of place and inappropriate for beach vacations.

High maintenance dresses or delicate fabrics : There’s a place for everything and Goa is certainly not a place for anything high maintenance. You are there to enjoy a summer vacation and lightweight, low maintenance clothing is definitely the Goa dress code. So save your expensive clothing for the city excursions and don’t take them to Goa!

what to wear in goa fashion dressing tips women

Leather dress or skirt : Even in the winter months, leather can feel extremely heavy for the Goa weather. Goa has hot and humid weather for most of the year and leather will not only get ruined in the humidity, but also look inappropriate for the weather.

Heavy fabrics like silk or velvet : I know some people have a preference for stiff and heavy fabrics, but with its hot weather, Goa is the place to wear cottons, linens, nylon, polyesters and other light materials.

Full sleeved tops : If you’re going in the summer months, Goa is definitely the place to avoid full sleeves. In the winter time, full sleeve tops would still not be a good idea, because the weather is erratic and keeps changing throughout the day. So it’s best to carry a loose, lightweight jacket instead, which you can carry and take off whenever you like.

Formal jacket or blazer : When you’re on vacation, you want to try the cool, summer dress code and avoid looking stuck-up in formal or semi-formals. So just go for simple, summer casual clothes instead.

Textured, ruffled, lace or sequin dresses : While these may be okay for night outs in Goa, they’ll feel uncomfortable if you decide to take a stroll at the beach afterwards. Sand can get stuck in textured fabrics and make them look dusty and dirty quickly!

Goa Packing List

Now that we have been through tips on what to wear in Goa, let’s make your packing list. Yay! How many clothes you carry will depend on whether you will be washing them on the trip or not. So do check the washing machine and dryer situation at your hotel or Airbnb before you pack. A packing list is a very personal and individual thing. However I’ve made a basic packing list for your Goa trip so that you can pick and choose the things you need. You can modify it as per your own requirements.

Comfy/Ugly Outfits to Avoid in Goa

Now that we’ve gone through so many tips on what to wear in Goa, outfit ideas and what to pack and what not to pack, let’s also finish this article by making a list of what outfit ideas to avoid. While researching for this article, I did a Google image search for your outfit ideas that fashion bloggers had suggested. I was really disappointed to see that so many of those outfit ideas were outdated or not at all stylish! You don’t wanna ruin your Insta pics with fugly clothing do you?!

So I made a list of outfits to avoid in Goa. These are just based on the latest trends and personal preferences or what I feel would be comfortable and appropriate for a summer vacation at the beach, so take it with a pinch of salt. Ultimately, just wear what you really like and not what I like! Basically, you want to avoid looks like try too hard. They scream wannabe. You want to go for simple ensembles – they look cool.

travel-girl-happy-traveling-beach-wind-blowing-hair

1. Baggy trousers (they only work in rare cases. Loose trousers usually hide the figure’s curves and look frumpy, which is not a good look at all!!)

2. Harem pants (Ugh! So 2005.)

3. Lose off-the-shoulder tops (No offense to this top-style, but keep ’em fitted. They look frumpy on most body types.)

4. Maxi dresses in dull colors with large confused prints (So outdated. It’s the era of neutrals or bright colors. And if you like prints, go for tropical or floral prints.)

5. Full sleeved or bodycon dresses (Over and done with.)

6. Full face of make up (is SO not Goa. Save it for the city.)

7. Scarf +kurti combos (You can do better.)

8. Jeans with folded bands (Like why? They look like you can’t even Goa.)

9. Chunky statement necklaces (Too heavy for the lightweight look Goa calls for. Save them for spring festivals.)

10. Cover-up over a t-shirt (What exactly are you covering up?)

11. Denim on denim (Regular street style rules don’t apply in tropical beach destinations.)

12. Cowgirl looks (It’s 2019. Cowgirl looks went out of fashion nearly 15 years ago. Keep up girls!)

I hope bashing on other fashion bloggers doesn’t sound too bitchy of me but it’s kinda my job to keep you guys up to date with the latest fashion. And I can’t let you go to Goa in beach-inappropriate, frumpy or outdated clothes!

Anyway, I hope you found my guide on what to wear in Goa helpful. How are you going to dress for your vacation? If these trips were helpful, let me know below! If you wanna check out more of my vacation pics from different destinations, do follow me on  Instagram @shilpaahujadotcom !

Wondering what to pack for a Goa trip? Don’t worry, I have got the best goa trip packing list presented in a clear no-fuss manner.

In this post, I will share with you exactly what you should pack for a trip to Goa, things to avoid carrying and basic Goa packing tips. You can simply save the list and start packing for your Goa trip without any overwhelm.

As you know, I have been to Goa over twenty times and in every age and stage of my life (as a child, a teenager, with my husband, during pregnancy, as a new mom and as a mom to a toddler!) Based on my experience of packing for a Goa trip, I can assure you that while dressing up (or down!) is far more acceptable in Goa than in other Indian states, it’s not a matter over which you should lose your sleep or get overwhelmed.

When packing for a trip to Goa, you need to carry lots of comfortable clothes, a few fancy clothes, good swimwear, comfortable footwear and sun protection.

In the article below, I discuss in detail all about the type of clothes to carry, non-negotiable skincare products needed for a Goa trip as well as items that you could leave out. Read the post below for an easy-to-follow list.

Basic Packing Tips for Goa

Before we dive into exactly what to pack, let me share a few tips that you should keep in mind when you pack for a Goa trip.

1. Sun protection is non-negotiable

The sun in Goa is harsh, even in winters. Plus to make things worse, we tend to spend large portions of the day outdoors- on the beach, at forts and other tourist attractions or riding two-wheelers.

Carrying a high-quality sunscreen is an absolute must for men and women.

I have faced severe skinburn on trips where I have forgotten a good sunscreen and my burnt skin has literally peeled and flaked for weeks after coming back from the trip. It was so embarassing that I have had to keep my sunburnt arms covered with full-sleeved shirts and jackets for a few weeks after the trip.

So learn from my mistake and buy a good sunscreen.

Get a 50+ SPF Sunscreen

2. Don’t overpack

goa tour dress

All the major tourist areas in Goa have enough shops selling clothes, handbags, jewellery and swimwear for men, women and kids. You will also find medical shops in all tourist areas.

Thus, don’t overpack (to be on the safe side). If you think you’ve forgotten something, you can easily buy it for cheap in Goa.

In fact, on a number of trips to Goa, I have bought beach cover-ups and tops locally instead of carrying them to Goa from Mumbai. I find the variety of tops and beach cover ups far better and affordable in Goa than in other Indian cities.

That’s also why, many foreigners buy most of their clothing upon reaching Goa.

Wondering where to stay in Goa?

3. Leave space for shopping

It’s hard to not shop when in Goa.

All the major beach areas are flooded with touristy shops. Goa is also known for its cashews and cheap booze.

Many tourists thus end up shopping quite a bit when in Goa.

So make sure you leave enough space in your bags to bring back everything you buy in Goa.

4. Opt for comfortable clothing

The weather in Goa is mostly hot with temperatures ranging between 27-38 for the most part of the year. Goan weather is only pleasant during winter i.e. between November to February.

Read my article on the best time to visit Goa as per months and seasons

So even if you want to look stylish all throughout, don’t pack clothes that are not comfortable.

Avoid clothes that are-

  • of a synthetic fabric

Wearing such clothes will cause excessive uncomfortable sweating. Opt for cotton, breathable clothes in lighter shades.

5. Keep a few modest items of clothing

Goa is one place for which you can happily pull out your skimpy clothes. But reserve them for beachtime or other casual outings.

For church and temple visits, you will have to dress a bit more conservatively. Avoid sleeveless clothing or clothing above knee-length.

6. Choose the right colours (For perfect Instagram pics)

Goa clothes

If you want to click the best pics for your Instagram, get your colour game right. Here are a few quick suggestions

  • Wear bold colors for Parra Road (the famous filming location of Dear Zindagi). Bold colours beautifully contrast the pale street shades and the neutral hues of the coconut trees in the background.
  • For beach pictures – opt for dreamy neautral shades. They complement the beach colors irrespective of the time of the day and enhance the lazy, laidback vibe.
  • Wear whites in Fountainhas – Fountainhas is a street full of colourful houses. To avoid getting camouflaged with any house colour or to conflict with the colours of the street, it is safest to wear beautiful textured white clothes.

TOP TRAVEL RESOURCES

Here is a list of our favorite travel resources- the ones that I absolutely swear by when planning almost every trip. Go through this list to plan a hassle-free trip and save a lot of money!

Flight Booking: Check the availability of tickets, the best time to fly, and the cheapest fares on Skyscanner . You may also find a cheap flight via CheapOair

Accommodation: I absolutely love booking through Agoda . In most countries and particularly in Asia, I often find the best fares on Agoda. But I also love the no prepayment and no cancellation fee policy of Booking.com . For cheap accommodations and hostels, nothing beats Hostelworld .

Car Rentals: You may find and rent an appropriate car via RentalCars . It’s hassle-free and reliable.

Guided Tours: I absolutely love GetYourGuide for local sightseeing tours, walking tours, history tours, and food tours. The booking process is seamless, and the tours are super affordable. But in Asian countries, I prefer Viator or Klook for their affordably priced tours.

Lounge Access : Get Priority Pass – my personal favorite card that gives me unlimited access to premium airport lounges all over the world

Now, there are some of you who are either less inclined to wearing shorts or simply don't want to get tan lines on your legs. Harem pants, wide-leg pants, linen cargos, palazzos, culottes and gipsy pants are your best friends.

7. Sundresses

What is more vacation-like than a floral printed sundress accessorised with a sunhat and a pair of Havaianas flip-flops So this is great when you are out for an evening stroll, sightseeing or just grabbing brunch.

What To Wear In Goa, Dresses for goa

Evening Wear

Obviously, you won't want to dance at a beach party in a sarong. When the sun goes down, you will need a change in your outfit while still maintaining your comfort level. Here's how:

8. Long skirts

Skirts that are flowy will ensure that you have the best time dancing your worries away while still feeling the air. No room for sophisticated tight mini-skirts here.

9. Maxi dresses

Be it enjoying a trance party at Curlies or simply stopping by a bar for a couple of drinks; you can never go wrong with a tropical printed maxi dress. Go for off-shoulders and side-slit maxis to spice things up.

10. Sequined shorts

Along with the right clothing, it is of utmost importance that you accessorise right. Remember, less is always more, and you just need one statement accessory to turn heads.

11. Straw hats

Available in plenty in any Goan flea market, straw hats not only protect you from the raging sun but also add that extra oomph to your look.

12. Scarves

13. flip-flops.

A staple for any beach holiday. Leave the bulky shoes and stilettos at home. You can also invest in a good pair of Crocs or open-toe sandals.

14. Sunglasses

15. chunky jewellery, 16. tote bags.

And finally, a bright-coloured tote to stock all your essentials in - beach towels, sunscreen, gloss and a book maybe. A beach bag made of waterproof material is indispensable.

3. Underwear as swimwear

4. ill-fitted swimwear, 5. heels/closed footwear, 6. expensive jewellery.

All the gold, silver and shimmery bling are to be skipped. There is a high risk of losing them in the sand, and they do not exactly match the carefree vibe of the place. Leave the Casio watch safe at home and carry silicone strap watches if you must.

7. Heavy make-up

Goan water and climate ruin overly done make-ups. Keep it minimalistic and simple. Hair tied up in a bun, coral pink for the lips and lightly lined eyes.

8. Hairdryer

What to wear in Goa? What would be the right beach dresses in Goa? How to keep up with Goa fashion?

Raise your hand if you've done a google search of the above before an upcoming Goa trip! Personally, I put in a bit of an effort (Read- a little too much effort) before I head off to any vacation. But Goa is not just any destination. It has a special place in not just our Indian hearts but also in the hearts of foreign tourists. There's something for everyone here - the beach, greenery, yoga, meditation, water sports, organic cafes, boho vibes and so much more! So it's only natural that you may want to make sure you know what to pack for Goa. Worry not, based on my 11+ years of living in and loving Goa, I've got a list of essential clothing items that answer your questions.

What to Wear in Goa: Top 10 Clothing Items to Carry

While I can make a huge list of clothes and dresses for your Goa trip, I would much rather stick to the essentials. Everyone has their own sense of style and thus, I'm only focusing on some must-haves clothes for a Goa trip. Take a look at the list below:

1. Casual Dress

Casual Dress for What to Pack for Goa

A casual short dress can go a long way. Wear it as is, under a long checked shirt, with a denim jacket or paired with a printed shrug. I like to wear short dresses when I want to spend a lazy day waking up a little late and then catching brunch at an art cafe. I usually keep my look simple with large hoop earrings and a bohemian printed sling bag. However, this versatile dress can be styled in numerous ways, some of which I mentioned above. You can take this basic dress and style it in any way to reflect your personality.

2. Boho Maxi Dress

instagrammable boho maxi dress

This look is one of my all-time favorites. After all, there's nothing that can beat a long flowing bohemian dress. It goes without saying that this would be a top choice for dresses to wear in Goa. You can wear it to the beach, while sightseeing, during brunch or while casually strolling around. Jazz it up with chunky silver earring and you're good t go. The dress shown above is from Ajio's spring-summer 2018 collection. Not just that, it's even available in alternative color choices. This one is a keeper!

3. Short Skirts

The humble white skirt is a versatile, I'd say, ubiquitous piece of clothing. Carrying this skirt will make your Goa fashion game strong. You can wear it with a nice top for a fancy lunch date. Alternatively, you could wear it under a bright red top for an eye-catching look or with a subtle light tie-up top to make a chic statement. In any case, this skirt can be adapted in countless ways for your next Goa holiday. However, if you're not comfortable carrying a white skirt then I'd suggest you go for a blue a-line skirt. It's just as versatile and can be paired with any kind of top or t-shirt and shrug.

On occassions when you're feeling a little adventurous - climbing the hills to reach waterfalls or parasailing to catch an aerial view of the Goan coastline, you might wanna trade the skirts and dresses for shorts. While the blue denim shorts are a trusted staple, if you want a bit of a stylish change, I'd say go for another colour. Brightly coloured or printed shorts are in trend right now. But, if you want your topwear to shine then pick black shorts that look trendy and at the same time, they don't take the limelight away from your topwear. In the picture above, I paired my H&M casual t-shirt with boho black shorts from the Ajio spring-summer 2018 collection.

5. Kaftan Top

Kaftan top for what to wear in Goa

A kaftan top is an essential beachwear in Goa. The beaches in Goa have colourful by-lanes leading up to them. In these lanes, you'll find numeous shops selling all manner of items from clothing, jewelry, bright lamps, souveniers and more. Alongside there shops you'll also find cute litte eateries offering healthy and delicious food. It's in these lanes of Patnem beach, that I picked up my kaftan top from. You can use it to cover yourself up once you're done swimming and wish to walk around the vibrant by-roads.

6. Off-Shoulder Top

Offshoulder top for what to wear in Goa

If you're wondering what to pack while travelling to Goa, put this one in your bag right now. Off-shoulder tops are sexy and cute at the same time. For a simple, subtle look, take a peach off-shoulder top. To add a bit of drama to it, opt for one with bell sleeves. Moreover, you can even get a mustard coloured off-shoulder top and wear it either with an a-line skirt or with shorts. Layed that with a printed shrug and large tassel earrings for a more sophisticated look.

7. Bright Tops

Goa has tons of history and culture hidden in it's colourful lanes. While you're out exploring these areas, it's only fitting that you wear something that's as bright as your surroundings. For occassions like these, carry a bright yellow/ mustard/ red/ or orange top that can stand-out among the vibrant houses in Goa. Wear these with jeans, printed pants or skirts and layer them with jackets or shrugs as per your preference. I'd highly recommend carrying hairbands or bendys that can add playfullness to your look.

8. Denim Jacket

Pack denim jacket for Goa

There's something about the good old denim jacket that makes it a trusted wardrobe essential. A denim jacket can be worn over a maxi dress, casual dress, striped dress, shorts, long skirts, short skirts, jeans, casual pants and basically almost everything. I love this vintage look I created while exploring the sleepy old town of Chandor in Goa. I wore a striped dress under my denim jacket, which is from Ajio. To add to this, I accessorized with a mustard hairband and a tan sling bag. Don't forget to pack a denim jacket to wear in Goa - it can be extremely helpful and stylish as well.

9. Quirky Footwear

Wear quirky sandals in Goa

Enough talk about Goa clothes! We're moving on to footwear. Why wear the same old boring black or tan sandals everywhere? Although, I might be guilty of that myself! Quirky sandals, as we all know, have taken over the fashion scene. While in Goa, you can wear the brightest, most outrageous looking footwear and it would blend in perfectly with the surroundings. That's the beauty of Goa! Nonetheless, if you want to wear something fuss-free but that's not boring at the same time, go for light pink sandals that be worn over anything.

10. Hats and Sunglasses

Wear large hats in Goa

In any season except for monsoon, Goa is bright and sunny. To avoid a nasty tan or sunburn and to enjoy your Goa trip at the same time, carry hats and sunglasses with you. A large hat with a beautiful quote on it or a straw hat will look just about perfect. When it comes to sunglasses, skip the same old black one and go for something fun. White, yellow pink and burgundy sunnies look fun and quirky at the same time.

There you go. Your Goa trip is now sorted.

Cultural and Religious Sites: Dressing Respectfully in Goa

While Goa is renowned for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife, it’s also home to a rich cultural and religious heritage. When visiting temples, churches, or other sacred sites in Goa, it’s essential to dress respectfully to honor the local customs and traditions. In this section, we’ll discuss the significance of conservative clothing and suggest appropriate attire for such visits.

Respecting Local Customs:

Goa’s cultural diversity includes a significant Christian population and a blend of Hindu and Catholic traditions. When visiting religious sites, tourists are encouraged to respect the local customs and practices. One way to do this is by dressing modestly and conservatively.

Clothing Guidelines:

  • Covering Shoulders and Knees: Both men and women should ensure that their shoulders and knees are covered when entering religious sites. This means avoiding sleeveless tops, shorts, and short skirts.
  • Long Skirts and Sarongs for Women: Women can opt for long skirts or sarongs, which are excellent choices for covering their legs. These garments not only show respect but also help keep you cool in Goa’s warm climate. Pair them with a comfortable blouse or top with sleeves.
  • Shirts with Sleeves for Men: Men should consider wearing shirts with sleeves that cover their arms. Short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirts are acceptable. Avoiding tank tops and sleeveless shirts is advisable.

Footwear Considerations:

In addition to clothing, it’s essential to be mindful of your footwear. When entering places of worship, it’s customary to remove your shoes as a sign of respect. Be prepared to do so and wear socks if needed.

Carrying a Scarf or Shawl:

It’s a good idea to carry a lightweight scarf or shawl in your bag when visiting cultural or religious sites. You can easily drape it over your shoulders or wrap it around your waist if needed. This provides an extra layer of coverage when required.

Respectful Behavior:

Apart from attire, remember to maintain respectful behavior when visiting religious sites. Speak softly, avoid public displays of affection, and refrain from any disruptive behavior. Taking photographs may be allowed in some places, but always ask for permission when in doubt.

By dressing conservatively and behaving respectfully, you’ll not only honor the local culture and traditions but also have a more enriching and meaningful experience when exploring the cultural and religious heritage of Goa.

Packing Tips for Your Goa Vacation

Packing for your Goa vacation is all about finding the right balance between style, comfort, and practicality. To ensure you make the most of your trip, we’ve compiled a list of essential packing tips to help you pack efficiently and sustainably.

1. Efficient Packing with Packing Cubes:

Packing cubes are your best friends when it comes to staying organized and maximizing luggage space. These zippered fabric cubes come in various sizes and are designed to keep your clothing and items neatly separated. Here’s how to make the most of them:

  • Roll Your Clothes: Roll your clothing items before placing them in packing cubes. This not only saves space but also minimizes wrinkles.
  • Color-Code Your Cubes: Assign specific colors to different categories of clothing. For instance, use one color for tops, another for bottoms, and a third for undergarments or accessories. This makes finding what you need a breeze.
  • Utilize Extra Space: Don’t forget to make use of any extra pockets or compartments in your luggage. Items like socks or small accessories can fit into these spaces.

2. Bring a Reusable Water Bottle:

Goa’s sunny climate means staying hydrated is crucial. Rather than buying bottled water throughout your trip, consider bringing a reusable water bottle. Look for a bottle that’s easy to refill, leak-proof, and environmentally friendly. You can fill it up at your accommodation or use public water stations where available.

3. Pack Eco-Friendly Bags:

Carry reusable eco-friendly bags in your luggage. These lightweight and foldable bags come in handy when you’re out shopping for souvenirs or groceries. They’re not only eco-conscious but also save you from accumulating plastic bags during your trip.

4. Plan Your Wardrobe:

Before packing, plan your outfits for each day of your Goa adventure. Consider the climate and activities you’ll be engaging in. Here are some tips:

  • Choose Versatile Pieces: Opt for clothing items that can be mixed and matched to create different outfits. Versatile pieces help reduce the number of clothes you need to pack.
  • Think Layers: Packing lightweight layers allows you to adapt to changing weather or indoor/outdoor environments easily.
  • Limit Shoes: Shoes can take up a lot of space, so limit yourself to a few pairs that serve multiple purposes. For example, comfortable sneakers for walking and a pair of dressier shoes if needed.

5. Use Travel-Sized Toiletries:

When it comes to toiletries, use travel-sized containers to save space and comply with airline regulations. You can also find reusable silicone containers that are perfect for carrying shampoo, conditioner, or lotion. Remember to place your toiletries in a sealable plastic bag to prevent leaks.

6. Secure Valuables:

Consider using a money belt or hidden pouch to keep your passport, cash, and other valuables secure while traveling. This extra layer of security can offer peace of mind during your adventures.

7. Leave Room for Souvenirs:

If you plan to bring back souvenirs or gifts from your Goa trip, leave some extra space in your luggage or consider packing an additional collapsible bag. This prevents the need to purchase extra luggage while you’re there.

8. Check the Weather Forecast:

Before packing, check the weather forecast for your Goa destination to ensure you bring appropriate clothing. Being prepared for rain or cooler evenings can make your trip more comfortable.

With these packing tips in mind, you’ll be well-prepared to make the most of your Goa vacation. Whether you’re lounging on the beach, exploring cultural sites, or enjoying vibrant nightlife, efficient packing ensures you have everything you need while minimizing stress and clutter.

Understanding Goa’s Climate

As you prepare for your memorable trip to Goa, it’s crucial to familiarize yourself with the region’s tropical climate, which significantly influences your clothing choices and travel planning. Goa’s climate, marked by warm temperatures and high humidity, is a key factor in deciding what to pack and when to visit.

A Tropical Climate Overview:

Goa maintains a tropical climate year-round, reflecting its coastal location. To help you plan your attire accordingly, let’s delve into the different seasons and their distinctive weather conditions:

  • Temperature: During Goa’s winter months, the weather remains delightful, with temperatures ranging from 15°C (59°F) to 30°C (86°F). This is the peak tourist season due to its pleasant climate.
  • Clothing: For daytime outings, pack lightweight clothing like t-shirts, shorts, and breathable dresses. Bring along a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings.
  • Temperature: As summer approaches, Goa experiences a warmer climate, with temperatures ranging from 25°C (77°F) to 35°C (95°F).
  • Clothing: To stay comfortable amid the rising temperatures, opt for light and breathable attire, including shorts, tank tops, sundresses, and swimwear, especially if beach days are on your itinerary.
  • Temperature: The monsoon season in Goa brings heavy rainfall and relatively cooler temperatures, ranging from 24°C (75°F) to 30°C (86°F).
  • Clothing: Monsoon weather can be wet and humid. Be sure to pack waterproof clothing, umbrellas, and fast-drying outfits. Closed-toe shoes or sandals with reliable traction are advisable for navigating slippery terrain.
  • Temperature: Following the monsoon season, Goa experiences slightly cooler temperatures, ranging from 24°C (75°F) to 35°C (95°F).
  • Clothing: As the weather starts to dry up, you can revert to light and comfortable attire, similar to the pre-monsoon season. This is an ideal time for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

Monsoon Season Insights:

It’s essential to factor in the monsoon season if you plan to visit Goa between June and September. During this period, heavy rains, potential flooding, and limited outdoor activities may impact your travel experience. Consequently, many travelers prefer the dry season, spanning from October to March, when Goa offers more predictable and pleasant weather conditions.

Understanding Goa’s climate ensures you choose the right time to visit and pack suitable clothing. By aligning your travel dates with your weather preferences, you’ll enhance your comfort and enjoyment while savoring the beauty of this coastal paradise.

As we conclude this style guide for your Goa vacation, you’re now well-prepared with insights on what to wear in Goa and valuable packing tips. Make the most of your trip, and may your Goa experience be a perfect blend of style, comfort, and unforgettable memories.

Traditional Dresses Of Goa |Timeless Clothing Styles|

Goa, a coastal state in India is a hub of cultural embodiment woven together by a diverse population. This diversity has resulted from centuries of historical influences by the Portuguese colonisation, Indian heritage, and a thriving tourist industry. It’s a vibrant blend  of traditions, languages, and practices that have shaped the identity of the Goan people.

Traditional dresses of Goa play a pivotal role in Goan culture, acting as a great visual representation of one’s heritage and identity.

Different communities within Goa have distinct attire, mostly reflecting their historical and social backgrounds. So if you are a person who has some serious interest in fashion and history then this article will surely fascinate you.

Evolution of Goan traditional clothing

Goa has some indigenous styles that have adapted over centuries. The clothes have evolved based on the tropical climate. Primarily they are lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton and traditional garments such as the ‘kunbi saree’ for women and ‘kashti’ for men.

Apart from these, the influence of Portuguese colonisation in Goa left an indelible mark on clothing. European garments like the ‘fama’ for women and ‘cholo’ for men were introduced, with an eclectic blend of local attire. The sari was combined with European blouses, and the influence of Catholicism brought about distinctive wedding attire. Indowestern style was somehow born back  then

So integrating local and foreign elements resulted in a unique Goan fashion identity, exemplifying a harmonious fusion of cultures with vibrant colours, intricate embroidery, and distinctive accessories like the ‘kumkum’ for women and ‘copel’ for men.

Men’s Traditional Clothing

Dhoti and kurta.

This attire holds deep cultural and historical significance. The dhoti is a piece of unstitched, typically white fabric worn around the waist and legs. It is secured with pleats and a knot, offering comfort and ventilation, making it ideal for India’s hot and humid climate. The kurta is a loose-fitting, knee-length tunic, often having intricate embroidery or patterns. Both perfectly complement each other.

These garments symbolise simplicity, and modesty, and represent India’s rich heritage. They have been worn for centuries, reflecting the country’s diverse culture and values.

They embody tradition and spirituality, making them appropriate for events like weddings, pujas (religious rituals), and cultural gatherings. Additionally, they are chosen for casual wear in rural areas, providing comfort during daily activities.

Women’s Traditional Clothing

Lugar and choli.

They are iconic elements of women’s traditional clothing in various Indian communities. The Lugra is a long, pleated skirt that typically reaches the ankles, while the Choli is a midriff-baring blouse.

Both garments are crafted from vibrant, intricately embroidered fabrics, showcasing the rich textile heritage of India. Significantly, they symbolize a fusion of modesty and sensuality in Indian attire. The Choli accentuates the feminine form, while the Lugra exudes elegance.

Variations exist across different communities. In Rajasthan, Lugra and Choli are often characterised by bold mirror work and tie-dye techniques. In Gujarat, they feature elaborate bandhani (tie-dye) patterns.

Meanwhile, Lugra and Choli may be replaced in South India by the pavada and ravika, a long skirt and blouse combo.

These variations reflect regional identities and traditions while preserving the cultural essence of modesty and allure embodied by Lugra and Choli.

Traditional Jewellery

It is as diverse as the nation itself, reflecting various types and materials. Styles range from the elaborate Kundan, and Polki sets to the chunky silver and tribal jewelry. Materials encompass precious gems like emeralds, rubies, and semi-precious stones and beads.

Culturally, traditional jewellery in Indian life signifies wealth, social status, and marital bliss. Symbolically, items like the mangal sutra (necklace) illustrate marital commitment, while the nose ring symbolizes a woman’s married status. Traditional jewellery is more than adornment; it’s a heritage repository, carrying stories and traditions that resonate through generations.

Cultural Significance

Traditional dress in Goa plays a pivotal role in festivals, serving as a vibrant embodiment of cultural heritage. These garments, often rich in colors and intricate designs, symbolize unity and pride, fostering a sense of belonging among participants.

They amplify the festive spirit, enabling individuals to express their deep-rooted traditions and values. Through their attire, festival-goers not only honor their ancestors but also promote cultural diversity, fostering cross-cultural appreciation.

For instance, wedding attire carries profound symbolism, transcending mere fashion. It signifies commitment, purity, and societal roles. For instance, the white wedding gown symbolizes purity and new beginnings in Western cultures, while in Indian weddings, the red sari represents fertility and auspiciousness. Couples communicate their values and adhere to age-old customs through these garments, forging a deeper connection to their heritage and community.

Clothing and identity are inseparably linked, representing an individual’s heritage, beliefs, and social affiliations. Apparel choices can convey a person’s ethnic background, religious beliefs, or subcultural allegiance. This connection fosters a sense of pride and belonging, strengthening cultural bonds. Not only this clothing can also be a tool for self-expression and transformation, allowing individuals to explore and redefine their identities and exceed societal expectations. Thus, clothing is a powerful medium through which people express and discover their sense of self.

What to pack for Goa? This question might be on your mind if you are planning to visit Goa soon. Making a list of things to carry for Goa is an important step in the preparation of your trip. This way you won’t forget the essentials and avoid wasting money on buying new ones in Goa.

Things to pack for Goa will depend on a number of factors including the time of the year as well as the visitor attractions you intend to cover. Once you are aware of these things, you will be able to form the perfect packing list.

Goa is one of my favourite beach destinations. From beautiful beaches to river cruises and from old churches to spice plantations, I love it all. Based on my multiple visits to this beautiful state, I will tell you why and what to pack for Goa. In the current blog, I intend to guide you in forming this perfect packing list for Goa. You can take a quick look at the 9 essential things that you must pack for Goa in this short video:

What to Pack for Goa?

Preparing a packing list forms a very important part of my travel preparation. The list is more important if I am visiting the place for the first time. I have been caught in a couple of situations when I was in a new place and wasn’t packed well. First, I had to go around finding what I needed and then ended up buying extra of what I could have carried along from home.

Therefore, if you don’t want to make the same mistake, I would suggest you make a packing list for Goa in advance. Before I go into the details of things to pack for Goa, here is a quick overview.

Things to pack for Goa

I would highly recommend you include  10 things in your packing list for Goa. These include – Camera, Driving Licence & ID proof, Sunscreen lotion , first aid kit, bag, swimwear, sunglasses, mosquito repellant, slippers and power bank.

In order to make things simple for you, I have divided the things to pack for Goa into 5 categories- Clothes, Essentials, Footwear, Toiletries and accessories. Let me get into each one of these ones by one.

What Clothes to Pack for Goa?

Goa is a tropical state and it remains hot almost all the year-round. Therefore, there are only a few things that will vary from one season to another.

11 Things that every Woman needs to pack for Goa

1. Dresses – Depending on the length of your stay in Goa, pack as many dresses as you can. The best options are Boho dresses, sundresses and maxi dresses. Dresses are the most comfortable and stylish piece of clothing for this season. You can wear these dresses when you are out exploring the towns and cities of Goa and on the beaches.

2. Shorts – Shorts are a must-have for your Goa trip. No piece of clothing is as useful as shorts. You can pair them up with tank tops, crop tops or spaghetti tops. They are not only comfortable but they also give you the ease of movement. So, whether you wish to indulge in some water sports, go to a club or pub, or just want to visit the forts of Goa, they are a perfect choice.

3. Skirts – Skirts are a pretty good choice too. Again, these can be paired with tank tops, spaghetti tops, t-shirts, etc. If you plan to visit places of worship, pack a long skirt

4. T-Shirts and Tank Tops – T-shirts are a must carry. Pair your favourite t-shirts with shorts or pants or skirts. My personal favourite are the boyfriend T-shirts. They are not only comfortable but also look really cool with almost everything- skirts, shorts, trousers. Other than T-shirts, you could also carry some tank tops and other tops. Carry the ones that are light and preferably cotton.

5. Swim Wear – If you wish to take a swim, make sure you carry your swimwear. You can wear any type of swimsuit at the beaches in Goa, be it monokinis, bikinis or the really cool tankinis for the shy ones.  If you are not comfortable, go in for some good old shorts and a tank top.

6. Sarong/kaftan/ Cover-up Dress – If you are planning to wear a swimsuit, carry a Sarong, kaftan or a cover-up dress.  Wear them over your swimsuits and you are good to chill on the beach. I personally recommend the tasselled cover-up dresses . They are light, airy, comfortable and look really nice.

7. Palazzos – There is nothing more comfortable than these. You can wear them anywhere. You can wear them to the beaches, for churches, when you go shopping around Goa, basically everywhere. These are a very comfortable option for exploring Goa. They are airy and light and look great too. The best part is that you can wear them with t-shirts, crop tops or tank tops.

8. Loose Pants – You can also choose to wear some loose cotton pants. There are a number of options available- from classic baggy pants to dhoti pants. Pick the style that suits you the best and you are the most comfortable with.

9. Scarf – Carry a couple of scarves. These really come handy in all weather conditions. You can use them to protect yourself from the sun and also use it to cover up if you visit some religious places.

10. Light Zipper/ Shrug- Although Goa doesn’t get as cold as north India, I always make it a point to carry a thin shrug or zipper. Keeping a thin zipper or shrug will protect you from the harsh sun during your day expeditions.

11. Innerwear – Depending on the length of your trip, pack appropriate sets of innerwear.

6 Cool Outfits that Men can take for their Goa Holiday

1. Shorts – It can get annoying to constantly pull your trousers up at the beach. Shorts are a pretty great option. Therefore, get a pair or two of shorts. Wear them with tank tops, shirts or t-shirts. Go for lighter colours since they look the best on the beaches. You can also wear them when you are out exploring the towns. Avoid wearing shorts to temples and churches.

2. Shirts – Shirts go pretty well with shorts. Choose shirts that are a little loose. Printed shirts look the best with plain Bermuda shorts. Choose natural fabrics like linen, cotton, etc.

3. T-shirts & Tank Tops – Along with the shirts, take along a few T-shirts and tank tops. Cotton and linen fabrics are the best and most comfortable options.

4. Swimming Trunks/ Shorts –If you plan to do so, make sure you carry proper swimwear i.e. swimming shorts or swimming trunks. These are usually made up of nylon or polyester and therefore dry up quickly.

5. Loose Fitting Pants – Get some loose-fitting pants. You can wear these for exploring Goa, visiting places of worship, etc. Goa is the place to experiment. So, you can also try some offbeat options such as classic baggy pants to dhoti pants. Pick the style that suits you the best.

6. Trousers – If you plan to visit some of the casinos or high-end clubs in Goa, you need to follow a dress code. Make sure you pack a pair of trousers.

goa tour dress

Some of the essentials I took to my last Goa trip. My camera, a 10000 mAH Mi power bank , sunglasses, a cap and Aadhar Card.

7 Essentials to Pack for Goa

1. ID Card – This is a must carry. It is mandatory to produce identification proof confirming a booking at all the stays in Goa. Also, make sure that you carry your driving lucence. I can vouch for the fact that there is no better way to explore Goa than on a two-wheeler.

2. Power Bank- Carry a power bank of at least 10000 mAH. I have been using a Mi power bank for some time now and it has been very useful. Power cuts are frequent in Goa, therefore make sure you carry your Power bank if you are a heavy phone user.

3. Torchlight – Coming back to power cuts, a torchlight might come in handy . Although most people use their phones, I prefer torchlight. I bought a torchlight a few months back and it has worked great for me .

4. Camera – If you are a passionate photographer, you will absolutely love Goa. There is so much you can capture. Pack your camera and lenses.

5. Sunglasses – Make sure you buy some good sunglasses to protect your eyes from the Goa heat. They needn’t be super expensive; they just need to do the job well. Choose a pair of sunglasses that are big, comfortable and offer 100% UV protection (both UVA and UVB). I found these pretty good sunglasses online . They look stylish, are UV protected and are pretty much on budget.

6. Day Bag – You need to carry a bag for all your day to day travel needs.  The bag should be big enough to hold your essentials like sunscreen, lip balm, water bottle, mobile phone, etc. Tote bags are a great choice. For guys, I would suggest messenger bags.

7. Sun Hat/ Cap – Carry a cap or sun hat. Broad rimmed hats are really helpful in protecting against the harsh sun. You can carry your own or get one of the straw hats at the beach itself.

What Footwear to pack for Goa- Are Flip flops enough?

  • Flip Flops/ Sandals – Pair your favourite dresses, shorts or swimsuits with a pair of flip flops or open sandals. Avoid wearing leather or suede flip flops, as the sand and water can stain them. This goes for men as well as women.
  • Sneakers/ Comfortable Shoes – Other than slippers carry a pair of comfortable shoes or sneakers. These are needed if you plan to indulge in some local sightseeing or wish to go for some hikes. Walking around in flip flops gets tiring at times. So, you need comfortable footwear.

What to pack for Goa

These are some of the most important toiletries you need to carry for your Goa Trip. Two most important things in this are the Sun Block lotion and mosquito repellant lotion/cream. Apart from these, carry your own face wash, moisturiser, etc.

Toiletries to pack for Goa

Mosquito Repellant – Mosquitoes have given me sleepless nights in Goa. Make sure you carry a mosquito repellant.  Trust me, you will need it.

Calamine Lotion – I always carry a calamine lotion with me . In case of an insect bite or minor allergy apply it to the skin. It relieves itchiness and soothes the skin.

Sunscreen Lotion – You must apply sunscreen to your exposed skin . Apply a good sunscreen lotion with an SPF of at least 40. Also, make sure you reapply for me every few hours.  Wash your face or simply wipe it off with a wet tissue and reapply the sunscreen.

Lip Balm – Your lips need protection from the sun too. The sun can be harsh on your lips. Choose a UV lip balm to keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun. I have tried a lot of lip balms, over the years but I like the SPF 15 Nivea lip balms the best, they are lightly tinted with a mild fragrance. Men can opt for the untinted lip balms.

Wet Tissues – Goa can get really hot during the day. Although you can always buy them in Goa itself, sometimes a supermarket is a little far. Therefore, I always keep a few packs of wet tissues in my bag.  Carry it in your bag while you are out exploring Goa.

First Aid Kit – Carry a small first aid travel kit. Pack some band-aids, over the counter medicines for common ailments like headache, fever or stomach ache.

Hand Sanitiser – This doesn’t need any explanation. Carry a small hand sanitiser.

Moisturiser – If you are planning to stay at a hostel or one of the budget guest houses in Goa , you might not get your own toiletries, make sure you carry your own moisturiser.

Facewash, Shampoo, Soap & Conditioner – As I said earlier, not all budget accommodations in Goa will provide you with basic toiletries, so, it’s better to carry your own.

Towel, Hair Brush, Dental care and Menstrual hygiene products.

Accessories to pack for Goa

You can carry some light pieces of jewellery if you want like pendants, bracelets etc. However, I would recommend buying it from Goa itself. The markets of Goa are really fun to shop and you can pick some really cool funky jewellery.

What to pack for Goa in Monsoons?

Monsoons in Goa start from June and last up till September. Although not one of the busiest months in Goa, off late more and more people have started exploring Goa during monsoons. Visiting Goa in monsoons has its own set of pros and cons. You can enjoy the green Goa during monsoons and find the places less crowded.  Also, you can find several budget accommodations in Goa during this time.

The main disadvantage is that sometimes it can rain for hours on a stretch. Therefore, if you want to just be lazy at the beach, the monsoon is not a good time. Also, the sea is rough and you cannot go for a swim. Also, I feel that despite the rains, it feels hotter than

  • Shrug/ Zipper

What to Wear in Goa in 2024 – The Ultimate Guide for Ladies and Men

' src=

Confused about what to wear in Goa as this is your first trip, and 2you want to be Instagram-ready at all times? Then you are in the right place.

Goa doesn’t have any dress code, but different places require different outfits.

A few things to keep in mind when you are packing outfits for Goa are the month you are visiting, the tourist attractions you will cover, and how comfortable you feel in an outfit.

Read on to learn more about the right kind of outfit to pack for the ultimate Goan experience.

Things to Consider When Selecting Clothes for Goa

Dresses in Goa

Many of us forget that Goa is not just about the beaches and is home to several churches, villages, temples, and waterfalls.

This is why you cannot wear a particular set of clothes everywhere in Goa. A few places are liberal in terms of clothing, while a few others are conservative. So, it would help if you packed with your itinerary in mind.

Pack for the Weather

When choosing clothes for your Goa trip, the first thing to remember is the kind of weather you would experience. For example, if you are planning a trip to Goa in winter, then you can pack long-sleeved tops or dresses to wear during the night.

Days are hot in winters as well, but nights can become a little. Also, do carry a jacket and leggings to wear at night when it is cold in Goa.

On the other hand, if you plan a trip during the summers or monsoon season, pack shorts, skirts, dresses, etc. Carry cotton and light material clothes as it is hot and humid during these months.

Consider the Duration of the Trip

The next thing to consider is the duration of your Goa trip. If you are planning a short trip, then you can choose clothes for different occasions and activities.

For a short 6-day trip, you can pack an outfit for each day and night to suit your activities.

However, you might have to keep clothes that you can wear in different styles for longer trips because packing an outfit for each day won’t be practical. So keeps shorts, tops, and skirts as you can mix and match them.

Select Clothes Based on the Activities

Another crucial factor to consider when selecting outfits for the Goa vacation is the activities that you do. For example, if you plan a relaxing vacation, you can pack beach clothes such as dresses, sarongs, swimsuits, etc.

On the other hand, if you plan to do adventure activities such as trekking, you might want to pack a pair of trekking shoes, shorts, and t-shirts for the trip.

Check the Dress Code for Various Attractions

Finally, you have to consider the dress code for the tourist attractions in Goa before you start choosing your clothes. In churches, you have to keep your shoulders and knees covered so, pack outfits accordingly.

If you are planning to visit casinos or clubs, then keep party dresses as well. And for water sports, don’t forget to pack a swimming costume.

In villages, wear slightly conservative clothes such as long dresses and skirts to avoid showing bare skin to the locals.

What to Wear in Goa

What to wear in goa for ladies.

Traveling in Goa

Goa is a liberal destination in terms of clothing, but there are still a few restrictions to keep in mind. You cannot simply wear anything anywhere you want.

To follow the local culture and unspoken expectations, here are a few outfit ideas for ladies exploring Goa.

What to Wear on Beach

There are close to 50 beaches in Goa, but it is certainly not possible to visit them all in a single visit. However, you can see some of the best beaches in Goa and look classy when doing so.

Dresses – Pack dresses for spending time on the beaches of Goa as they are not only comfortable but stylish as well. You can get a few sundresses , Boho dresses, and maxi dresses to wear on the beaches. Pack as many as you want, depending on the duration of your trip.

Shorts – Shorts are a must-have piece of clothing for Goa as they are comfortable, and you can pair them up with crop tops, tank tops, t-shirts, and so on. Carry cotton or linen clothes for wearing in Goa when you are sightseeing or just chilling on the beach.

Skirts – Skirts are a great option as they are comfortable and airy. They look stylish too and can be paired up with different kinds of tops.

Tank tops and T-shirts – Make sure you pack a few t-shirts as they are comfortable and versatile. You can pair them up with shorts, skirts, trousers, etc., and wear them almost anywhere in Goa. Get a few tank tops as well that are light and cotton for your beach time.

Swimsuit – If you are planning to go swimming, then do carry a swimsuit as well. You can take a monokini, bikini, or tankinis on the beaches of Goa. For those who are not comfortable wearing swimsuits, a pair of shorts with a tank top is a good idea as well. Take polyester or nylon shorts for swimming.

Sarong or Cover-Up – If you are going to wear a swimsuit, then do carry a sarong, kaftan, or a cover-up with you as well. You can wear these over your swimsuit and relax on the beach. There is an option of buying sarongs in the beach markets, but you need to be good at bargaining to get the best price.

Sandals or Flip Flops – Pack a comfortable pair of flip flops and sandals to wear on the beaches of Goa. Don’t wear leather or suede footwear on the beach as it can get stained by the sand or the water.

Sun Hats – Get a regular hat or a straw hat for relaxing on the beaches of Goa. These hats not only look stylish but protect you from the sun as well.

What to Wear While Sightseeing

While beaches make up the majority of Goa, there are several other attractions to explore here. For example, you can check out the numerous hiking trails, forts, villages, etc. Here are a few outfit ideas for exploring the same:

Loose Pants or Palazzos – One of the most comfortable pieces of clothing is a palazzo or lose pants. They are airy, comfortable, and look stylish too. The best thing is that you can wear them with all kinds of t-shirts and tops. From beaches to churches, they are perfect to wear everywhere.

Dresses – You can also pack dresses for sightseeing in Goa. But if you are planning to hike or try some adventure sports, then avoid dresses and go in shorts or trousers. Also, carry a few long dresses as many churches and temples require you to cover your knees when visiting.

Shorts or Skirts – Shorts and skirts are great options for local sightseeing places in Goa. Make sure that you don’t take mini shorts, hot pants, or mini skirts as it might become uncomfortable to wear and travel in Goa. Instead, get mid-thigh shorts and skirts and avoid wearing them when going to churches or temples.

Shrug or Light Jacket – Although it doesn’t get as cold as North India, it can still become a little chilly when traveling on a scooty after midnight. Thus carry a light jacket to keep yourself protected from the cold.

And during the day, use the shrug to protect yourself from the sun.

Sneakers or Sandals – Although flip flops are perfect for beaches, you should carry a pair of sneakers or sandals for sightseeing around Goa. If you are planning for hikes around Goa, then pack a comfortable pair of shoes as well.

What to Wear for Churches and Temples

Goa has some of the most beautiful and oldest churches in the world. A few churches, such as Basilica of Bom Jesus, Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Se Cathedral, etc., are known for their history and architecture.

Apart from the churches, there are some Hindu temples as well that require knee-length dresses.

Dresses – Wear dresses that are at least knee-length and aren’t too revealing or inappropriate. If you are wearing a sleeveless dress, carry a scarf or stole to cover your shoulders.

Long Skirts – Another good option is to wear knee-length skirts or long skirts with t-shirts and tops to visit places of worship.

Trousers or Palazzos – You can also choose to wear 3/4th or full-length pants or palazzos to such places. Pair them up with a half-sleeved or full-sleeved top or t-shirt.

T-Shirts – Visitors can wear t-shirts or tops to the places of worship in Goa as long as they are not revealing and cover up the shoulders.

Stole – Finally, carry a scarf or stole with you when visiting churches or temples. These will not only protect you from the harsh sun but can be used to cover up your shoulders as well.

What to Wear in Casinos and Clubs in Goa

Most visitors are excited about the nightlife of Goa, including the numerous clubs, casinos, and events held here.

There is no dress code for clubs, but for casinos, women have to wear smart casuals. This means no slippers or shorts.

Dresses – Clubs and casinos are great for wearing dresses. From LBDs to maxi dresses , you can wear any clothing here as they tend to be quite comfortable as well. Just add some accessories, and you are good to party.

Skirts or Shorts – You can wear fancy skirts or shorts to the clubs and skirts to the casinos. Pair them up with a nice top and add some jewelry to complete the party look.

Trousers – If you are uncomfortable with dresses or skirts, you can opt for pants or trousers in a club or a casino. You can wear a t-shirt, shirt, or a top with them and enjoy your night partying.

Shirts or T-Shirts – If you choose to wear trousers, select a good shirt or t-shirt to compliment it. They go well with shorts as well for the clubs.

Sandals or Shoes – Finally, wear a good pair of sandals or shoes to the clubs and casinos. Avoid wearing slippers as you won’t get an entry into the club or the casino.

What to Wear in Goa for Men

What to Wear in Goa for Men

Why shouldn’t men dress up to look good, right? So here’s what can wear.

Goa is majorly known for its beautiful beaches, so packing suitable beach clothes is a must for men.

Here are a few outfits that you could try when in Goa:

T-Shirts – Take a few cotton and linen t-shirts and tank tops for spending time on the beaches too.

Shirts – Shirts go with all kinds of lowers and work well with shorts on the beaches. Opt for loose shirts so that it is comfortable to wear. You can wear printed shirts with plain shorts too. Choose light and breathable fabric such as cotton, linen, etc., so you don’t feel hot on the beach.

Shorts – Trousers or jeans can become sticky due to the sweat at the beach, making shorts your best companion here. Pack 2-3 pairs of shorts and match them with t-shirts, shirts, or tank tops. Choose lighter colors for the beach.

Swimming Shorts – If you plan to swim in the ocean, then carrying swimming shorts or trunks is a must. They are made using polyester or nylon, so they are quick to dry.

Sandals or Flip Flops – Don’t wear closed-toe shoes on the beach as it is difficult to walk, and sand will fill up inside your footwear. Instead, choose flip-flops or sandals that are comfortable to wear on the beaches.

Goa is home to several offbeat places to explore, such as hiking trails, waterfalls, villages, forts, and so on. If you are spending time in Goa to explore these places, then here are a few outfit options for you:

Shorts – One of the best clothing for sightseeing in Goa is shorts as it is comfortable and works well with most shirts, t-shirts, and tank tops. Opt for cotton shorts when exploring Goa, and avoid wearing them if you are going to a church or a temple.

Loose Pants – If you aren’t comfortable wearing shorts or are exploring a religious place, loose pants are great. You can wear baggy pants, dhotis, etc., and experiment a little with your style.

Shirts and T-shirts – Carry cotton and linen shirts, t-shirts, and tank tops with you to Goa. They are incredibly comfortable and the best choice for when you are traveling in Goa.

Sneakers or Shoes – If you plan to do local sightseeing or some short hike, then wear a comfortable pair of shoes or sneakers. Flip flops are not the best option for extended walking, and you might get tired after a while.

Trousers or Loose Pants – Since you need to cover your knees, full-length trousers or pants are perfect for visiting Goan churches and temples. You can wear them with t-shirts or shirts.

Shirts and T-shirts – Both are comfortable and work well with full-length trousers or jeans. Ensure that you don’t wear a sleeveless t-shirt or tank top as they are not allowed at religious places.

When you are going to Goa, you cannot miss out on enjoying the vibrant nightlife here. There are some kickass clubs to check out in Goa that throw amazing parties for the visitors.

Generally, there is no dress code for clubs, but you need to dress up smartly for casinos.

Trousers – At clubs, you can wear shorts, but you need to wear full-length trousers or jeans to enter a casino.

Shirts and T-shirts – You can wear both shirts and t-shirts with trousers and jeans when going out in Goa at night. These clothes are acceptable at both the clubs and the casinos and make you look smart. Avoid wearing sleeveless t-shirts to casinos.

Shoes – One of the most important things to keep in mind when dressing up for a party in Goa is to wear proper shoes such as sneakers or sports shoes. Men aren’t allowed inside the clubs or casinos wearing flip flops or sandals.

What Not to Wear in Goa

Candolim Beach

Now that you have a better idea of what to wear in Goa for different occasions and attractions let’s check out what to avoid.

Here are a few things that you might not feel comfortable wearing in Goa and could easily skip out on for a memorable Goan vacation.

Jeans – Well, jeans are a classic outfit that works at most destinations, but Goa is not one of them. Why? Well, because of the unbearable heat. Goa stays hot during the daytime and highly humid during the monsoons, making it bad for wearing jeans. They end up trapping the heat and become sticky to wear.

Leather – Wearing leather is also a bad idea like jeans, whether it is boots, jackets, or footwear.

Boots – When you wear dresses and skirts, you might want to take out your boots to flaunt them, but that would be a huge mistake. Boots are impractical for exploring the beaches and treks in Goa and will work well only for city sightseeing. So, avoid packing it as it will take up a lot of space in your luggage too.

Innerwear as Swimwear – Now, I understand that you might feel like taking a dip in the ocean but avoid wearing your innerwear as the swimsuit. It doesn’t look good and is downright cringe to look at for other tourists in your vicinity.

High Heels – Trust me, you won’t be needing your heels in Goa, even if you are planning to party. Also, it is going to be useless to visit most places such as the waterfalls, villages, and beaches in Goa. However, if you still wish to pack a pair of high heels, then take your comfortable wedges.

Too Many Accessories – Another thing to keep in mind is that you want to travel comfortably in Goa. Wearing too many accessories can become uncomfortable when relaxing on the beach or swimming in the ocean. More importantly, avoid taking expensive jewelry as it can easily get lost in the sand.

Makeup – Finally, this one is a personal choice, but makeup is mainly useless in Goa. From my personal experience, most of the time, your makeup will end up smudged by sweat if you are exploring outside. If you are going to clubs or dinner, then makeup might be a good idea. But apart from that, avoid using makeup during the daytime at least.

General Packing Tips for Goa

Arambol, Goa

We have covered both the items that you should wear in Goa and not wear in Goa. So, it is time we shared some general packing tips with you to help you efficiently pack for your Goa trip.

  • Pack light and don’t overstuff your luggage. You can get all the essentials in Goa and getting your clothes washed is quite easy too.
  • Take sunglasses, a sunhat, and a sunscreen with you to protect yourself from the harsh rays of the sunlight.
  • Since humidity can be disastrous for your hair, it is recommended that you carry a scarf or stole to protect your hair from the weather and the wind.
  • Avoid using tap water for drinking and take a Filtration bottle with you.
  • Pack a lightweight day sack in which you can keep essentials for sightseeing in Goa.

What to Pack for Your Goa Trip

Goa Beaches

Still a little confused on what you should pack for your Goa trip? I have got you. Check out this section to know all the essential things you cannot miss out on when you pack for Goa.

Tees and Shorts – Pack several pairs of cotton tees and shorts to wear in Goa. These clothes will keep you cool during the day and are easy to wash as well.

Beachwear – There are a lot of water activities to indulge in Goa. To stay comfortable, you can pack swimwear or beachwear and enjoy the water here.

Crocs or Flip Flops – Pack a pair of crocs or flip flops to wear in Goa. You can wear this footwear on beaches, markets, etc., and will feel comfortable throughout the trip.

Formal Shoes – If you are plan to visit the clubs and casinos in Goa, then carry a pair of formal shoes. You won’t be allowed entry into these places in flip-flops or sandals.

Cosmetics and Grooming

Sunscreen – When you are in Goa, you will be spending a lot of time on the beach and under the sun. This can result in skin irritation, so you should carry a sunscreen with SPF level 40 or above.

Wet Wipes – A wet wipe is excellent for keeping your hands clean and germs-free at locations where hand wash is not possible. Also, you can use it to clean your face to get rid of the accumulated dirt and oil after a day of sightseeing.

Mosquito Repellant – Coastal areas suffer from mosquito infestation, and Goa is no different. Once it is sunset, you will find yourself getting bitten by the mosquitoes, which can be annoying. Carry a mosquito repellant to keep yourself protected from mosquito bites.

Lip Balm – The climate of Goa can be damaging to your lips which is why I recommend you to carry a lip balm on the trip.

Accessories

Sunglasses – On your Goa trip, you have to protect your eyes from the reflection of the sunlight, and the best way to do this is by wearing a pair of sunglasses. Buy a pair of sunglasses with polarized glasses as they tend to keep your eyes stress-free while protecting them from the sun’s rays.

Hat/Cap – You cannot go to Goa without wearing a hat or a cap or you might get sunburnt. Also, it will make you look stylish in front of others.

Electronics

Camera – Carry a camera with you to Goa to capture the beautiful memories on the trip. If you are traveling for leisure, you can carry a mirrorless camera such as Sony A6100, Canon M50 Mark II , and so on. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and easy to operate. You can also carry action cameras such as GoPro Hero 7, GoPro Hero 8 Black, or GoPro Hero 9 as they are waterproof and offer many features.

Powerbank – Of course, your packing list is incomplete without a power bank. You can keep your phone charged to navigate the way and explore throughout the day without heading back to the room just to charge your phone.

Bluetooth Speaker – If you are traveling with a group of friends, a Bluetooth speaker can make your trip more fun and memorable. You can play music on the beach or a road trip and make the most of your trip.

Other Miscellaneous Items

Apart from all the above essential items, there are a few miscellaneous items to carry with you.

Day Pack – A day pack is good for keeping your essential belongings when you are exploring Goa.

Fanny Pack – Don’t forget to carry a fanny pack in which you can store your wallet, hotel keys, phone, power bank, and other essential things.

Water Bottle – Take a refillable water bottle or filtered bottle so that you can keep yourself hydrated and practice sustainable traveling as well.

Face Mask and Sanitizer – In light of Covid-19, carrying a face mask has become necessary when traveling. Take a hand sanitizer to keep yourself protected from germs when you are exploring around the city.

First Aid Kit – One of the most important things to carry on all your trips, a first aid kit is a must for unseen emergencies. You won’t find medical shops open 24×7 in Goa, so carrying essential medicines will come in handy.

Packing the right clothes for your Goa vacation can make a difference in how it turns out for you. And while it can be confusing at times as to what you should wear in Goa, I hope this guide helps you pack the perfect outfits for your trip.

Remember, keep a variety of clothes to suit your itinerary, and don’t overpack for the trip. But, most importantly, enjoy the beach life and be comfortable in your skin.

Check out our list of some style essentials before you start packing up for your Goa trip. You will love them.

1. Bikinis:

You know something – Goa beachwear is incomplete without bikinis. If you are planning to get into the water, a sizzling swimsuit is one of the basic essentials you need just like carrying a good sunscreen is a must to enjoy the surf, sand, and sun. Goa is one such place in the country which welcomes you with open arms when wearing stylish beach outfits is on your mind.

If wearing skimpy swimwear makes you feel uncomfortable, tankinis and high-waisted bikinis are good options too. Do not look like a misfit in jeans when everyone around you is in bikinis. Is it worth the insecurity when you can pick a bikini which you feel comfortable in? Remember to wear bikinis, the Goa beachwear only in beach/pool areas not in public places unless you want to be a cynosure of all eyes. Mind you, in Goa, modernity is just limited to the beach, not beyond. Got it?

2. Sarongs:

Bikinis are not everybody’s cup of tea. A sarong is one of the most popular clothes to wear in Goa for curvy ladies. The sarong wraparounds are perfect for beach holidays and can be thrown over your swimwear. You can even turn a sarong into a dress by wrapping style and comfort together. Sarongs come in vibrant colors that enhance the overall vacation mood and can be tied up in multiple ways.

Goan beach market gives you plenty of options in the sarong segment. Bargain it right, as then it becomes an enviable steal.

3. Beach Cover-Ups:

When you wanna leave the sand, then don this layered over swimwear. Beach cover-ups are light and airy and perfect for the hot and humid weather of Goa. No need to tie them up as you do with sarongs. The best part about this Goa dress is that it comes in different styles – kaftans, kimonos, to ponchos.

4. Linen/Cotton Shorts:

Whenever you are holidaying on a beach, it makes sense to carry fabrics that can dry up easily. Stay away from wearing denim shorts. They take their own sweet time to dry up and they can get pretty uncomfortable in the heat. The numerous pockets in denim shorts will have the sand getting into them and it will take a few weeks to get them out completely. Ouch! Are you still going to wear denim on the sun-kissed beaches of Goa?

Linen Cotton Shorts

5.Loose-fitting Trousers:

For those of you lovely beach girls who are not keen on wearing shorts or don’t want to get tan on your thighs and legs after wearing skimpy outfits, loose-fitting bottom wear is another smart choice from our list of dresses to wear in Goa. Try out wide-leg pants, harem pants, gypsy pants, palazzos, culottes and linen cargoes.

6. Spaghettis/ Tank Tops:

It is time to leave the boring formal shirt and dull t-shirt home. Pack in halter-neck spaghettis and racer-back tanks as quintessential Goa dress code. These are space-saving and give you the happiness quotient since you are not able to wear them in work life. And you can pair these with almost anything.

8. Long Skirts:

The fun of wearing long skirts is that they are flowy and give you absolute freedom while dancing (even shorts do but the comfort varies from person to person). So essentially, with long skirts, you get to feel the air and ooze some feminine charm!

9. Maxi Dresses:

Enjoy a trance party at Goa or stop by a bar for a couple of shots when you are dressed in a tropical printed maxi dress. Off-shoulder maxi dresses and side-slit maxis are your clothes to wear in Goa.

10. Printed Jumpsuits:

If the idea of dresses sounds boring to you, then go for long jumpsuits or playsuits. The printed ones add to the fun quotient and also double up as beachwear.

11. Sequined Shorts:

Shorts are comfortable. And there’s no doubting that. There are so many options in shorts – lace shorts to high-waist shorts and then sequined and embellished shorts. Pair them with a neon top and you would look rocking before you go party hopping.

Accessories To Wear In Goa:

Accessorize right. That’s what you should emphasize on what to wear in Goa – Goa dress code. Here is how:

1. Straw Hats:

Go to the Goan flea market and you will find plenty of straw hats to protect you from the sun as hot as you, apart from adding that extra oomph to your look.

2. Scarves:

Humidity in Goa can play havoc with your hair. Put on a pretty looking scarf for protection as well as enhancing the look of your Goa beachwear. You can also tie up a bandanna around your head.

3. Flip-flops:

That’s a staple go-to Goa dress code. No bulky shoes and stilettos when in Goa. Just get yourself a good pair of Crocs or open-toe sandals.

Flip-flops

4. Sunglasses:

If you want to spend most of your time in Goa at the beach it’s time to take out your sunnies. In fact, reflective mirror finish glasses are a rage these days. Not only do they do their part in protecting your eyes, they also up the style quotient. Since Goa welcomes quirkiness, never be afraid of experimenting with the frames.

Sunglasses

5. Chunky Jewelry:

Are you still going to be wearing chokers and gold when in Goa? The call of the hour when on the beach is lightweight and trendy jewelry. Explore lots and lots of shell bracelets, large bead necklaces, waist chains, anklets, funky looking toe rings and danglers. Go boho-chic! But keep your metal accessories away from saltwater.

Chunky Jewelry

6. Tote Bags:

Keep your LUXE bags in your wardrobe because Goa beachwear demands bright colored tote bags to stock all your essentials – whether it is beach towels, or sunscreen, gloss or maybe a book. Make sure your beach bag is made of waterproof material. Stay away from leather bags.

Tote Bags

What NOT To Wear When In Goa:

This is an important point for first-timers traveling to Goa. You better know the NO-NOs before packing your bag for your Goa trip or when you are already there.

The Goa dress code is meant to unwind from city life, not get back to city life. The best way to loosen up in Goa is when you give up denim.

Jeans

2. Synthetic Fabrics:

Considering the sultry and humid weather of Goa, it is best to stay away from polyester, nylon, and leather. Carry Egyptian cotton, linen or fine silk.

Synthetic Fabrics

3. No Sheer And Ill-fitted Swimwear:

Goa beaches are bikini-friendly but do not wear swimwear which ends up showing the parts you never wanted to show. Stay away from sheer tops and bottoms as well.

4. Closed Footwear and Heels:

A beach is not a ramp walk. So abort the idea of wearing heels and pumps. Flats would be the best bet and running shoes if you are going for morning jogs.

Closed Footwear

5. Expensive Jewelry:

Most of you might think this one doesn’t come in the list of dresses to wear in Goa. But jewelry is an accessory in dressing. Avoid losing your precious jewelry in the sand and ditch it for some silver trinkets or bohemian baubles that gel with the carefree vibe of Goa. Carry silicone strap watches and not your expensive watch (unless you are adamant about wearing the latter).

6. Heavy Makeup:

The climes of Goa are going to ruin your makeup. Why should you end up looking silly wearing heavy makeup when you can go for nude, simple and minimal makeup. Tie up your hair in a bun, put some coral pink on your lips and go for lightly-lined eyes.

7. Hair Dryer:

In Goa, apart from the lovely beaches, you get salty wind and water. Now, these can make your hair frizzy and dry. Don’t worsen the situation by carrying hair gels and dryers. Windswept hair anyways looks amazing. So go natural!

What’s the point of going to Goa for vacation if your Instagram is not filled with some fun beach pictures? All the mind-blowing and aesthetic pictures take an extensive packing session. So, to cover all of the packing details for a trip to Goa, we are going to gather all the important things you need to know about packing and all the clothes you should be choosing. We know the extensive thinking that goes into choosing the right and trendy clothes and packing, and keeping that in mind we thought we’d lend you a helping hand. We have got you covered for Goa from head to toe, but don’t worry, not too covered…

Men Packing List for GOA Travel?

Before we get into the glitz and glam of full outfits you should be carrying with you to Goa, here is some help for you to narrow down what to pack for a Goa vacation your way.

  • As Goa is an ultimate vacation point with beautiful beaches and beachside festivals, people normally prefer the Summer season to plan a trip to Goa so they can enjoy the beaches and sun properly. If you too are visiting in Summers, keep in mind to keep all the synthetic material away from your suitcase. Pack cotton, fine silk and linen outfits for your trip.
  • Don’t forget sunscreen, never forget the sunscreen boys. The summer scorching sun of Goa can damage your face and skin, sunscreen will keep you away from any tan sunburn.
  • Caps, sandals and other lightweight footwear or shoes, sunglasses and everything cool and comfortable and to have a fun and stylish time in Goa.
  • Plan accordingly to your days of the trip. A ton of burden of your luggage you will have to carry everywhere and take care of will only make you slow and put you down, the lighter the better in Goa.
  • As totally already known and understood, it is not possible to go to Goa and not do picnicking and ocean dip ins, don’t forget your swimwear and bikinis to enjoy the beach like nothing is stopping you.
  • For trekking and extensive walking sessions in Goa and when it starts to rain out of nowhere in that city, do not forget mobile and camera covers, medium size carryable bags and hats, omg I can not emphasize how much hats can elevate your summer trip outfits from 0 to 100.
  • Fit everything small and carryable in your travel bags and handbags and set off for Goa, thankfully this city doesn’t have a dress code. Shorts, shirts and slippers will get you through an entire week in Goa.
  • Ditch jeans and pack all the chinos you have with button-down shirts over tees, a basic Goa outfit for boys.

For a number of different outfits consisting of colorful shorts and shirts and chinos, here are all the details for you.
