How to use cruise control.?
- Add to quote
Hey guys, Have a 1.2 Allure and am taking my first really long car journey in it in a couple of days time, just want to know how you use cruise control as have never used this before. Think it will be useful to use on the M1! The control is on the left of the steering wheel. Thanks Lewy
It very well explained on the manual. I suggest you read that and do a dry run. The round button sets the mode.. up limiter down cruise The + and - button set the speeds for both The external button activates the chosen mode For cruise to engage you must be in 4th gear going at 40km or more. You may accelerate while in cruise, however pressing the clutch or break will disengage it. Hope this helps
It's also good for fuel economy.

No problem using the cruise control...it's great at avoiding fines in speed zones when you set it correctly !!!
I just used my cruise control to drive to Wales. Found that 55 - 69mph gave me the best possible return and I managed to average 71mpg on the 300 mile round trip
im using the cruisecontrol for my everyday driving.. also on small trips round town. I absolutely love it.

How do you find cruise control on decents on motorways?
Jasonbetts : In the old days a cruisecontrol was more of a meccanical nature than today and its true that you yourself could do better milage than with an old CC.Today a CC is electronic. I've experimented with my 208 1,6 e-hdi on my daily commute (54miles) and I get way better mileage (75-83mpg) when I use the CC than my right foot/brain can achive. Daz3467 : As soon as the CC detects that you are going downhill it gradually decreases the flow of fuel and when the decent is long and steep enough it cuts of completely.
Yes, I use it all the time. Brake or downchange for corner turns it off, then back up near your speed and in desired gear, flick it on. Easy, and great to avoid the speed camera flashes. Long downhills it shuts the fuel down, but it can't apply the brakes, so speed may still increase. But unlike others I've driven, when you start back up the other side and speed is decreasing, it starts to open the throttle a few km/h before you get back to the set speed.Wife has an auto Honda Civic. With cruise on, when going down hill it will change down when speed gets about 10 km/h over the set speed. Interesting feature, but a bit useless, as you'd be snapped by a speed camera if there was one around.

Activating cruise control on a 207
- Add to quote
Have you configured stuff on the 207 with PP2000 before? I would have thought the 207 needed to use DiagBox instead - ie. a newer version of the Peugeot software. Alternatively, in my experience main ECU configuration usually fails if the engine is running (if, for example you have the engine running to avoid Economy mode). The error msg rarely tells you this.
Thanks for your reply. This was the first time I have done anything with PP200 on this car. I installed Diagbox v7.02 this morning and had another go. With Diagbox I can't even find the place to switch these on - there doesn't appear to be an Engine ECU. I've hunted everywhere - could someone tell me where I find the options to switch these on other than in the BSI?
I forgot to say that I didn't have the engine running.
You most likely need diagbox V7.58 as this was the last one you could telecode. You can try your version there are a couple of ways to activate customer preparation or its under engine configuration menu
This is V7.58 Virtual machine (VM Workstation Player) it may work on your laptop Diagbox V7.58 VM
windy1603 said: This is V7.58 Virtual machine (VM Workstation Player) it may work on your laptop Diagbox V7.58 VM Click to expand...
I found the issue with the VM. It was created with a newer version of VMware than I can run so won't open.
Does anyone have a reliable link to download v7.57? Thanks
OK, I've found the problem. In Diagbox the engine ecu settings are under the "Injector" area. The reason I could not update the configuration was because I was trying to activate the cruise control and speed limiter functions at the same time, i.e. switch both on then save the configuration to the ecu. Switching only one on then saving the configuration allowed the ecu to be unlocked and the settings saved. Hopefully the above may help someone else in the future.
Also thanks to you Knobby, i havent even tried enabling them at once but after going through this blog i did same as suggested in first attempt and everything went well, thanks for helping fellow 207iens
Glad you sorted it Sent from my SM-T830 using Tapatalk
Hallo Windy , You are just Simply fantastic you saved me 😊😊😊 , i have been struggling since last 6 months visiting Authorized dealers and spending 200 euros for nothing... as a 207 owner i bought used car which doesnot have Cruise Control Fitted, so i then initiated the process of fitting the device by self ... bought the orginal part fixed it to Steering via gaining youtube knowledge but about activating it through Device i was little skeptical and dont have any knowledge so i went on visiting only Peugeot authorised dealers but was surprised of their response each visit costed me 70 to 80 Euros but helpless ,one dealer activated cruise control at least i can see cruise control light on in instrument panel but during drive it doesnot get activated the Two dashess next to it keeps blinking and speed limitter was never on... tired of spending money and time i decided to give it a try with Diagbox and device on my own... so i bought the device and latest diagbox software 9.146 but struggle still continued ... with this device and software i was able to enable Cruise control and Speed Limitter in BSI and but not in ECU very disappointing message " Configuration Failed" popped up 😖.... i lost hopes and later, as i was going through blogs i keep reading some people suggest clutch switch, accelerator pedal and all i am not that expert in making all those changes then i found this blog and you suggesting a downgraded version of Diagbox it worked flawless and both Cruise Control And Speed Control Works so i am on my wings I definitely owe you chocolates please let me know where should i send them 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Cruise control
System which automatically maintains the speed of the vehicle at the value programmed by the driver, without any action on the accelerator pedal.
The cruise control is switched on manually: it requires a minimum vehicle speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and the engagement of:
- fourth gear on the manual gearbox, - second gear in sequential mode on the electronic gear control gearbox or automatic gearbox, - position A on the electronic gear control gearbox or D on the automatic gearbox.
The cruise control is switched off manually or by pressing the brake or clutch pedal or on triggering of the ESP system for safety reasons.
It is possible to exceed the programmed speed temporarily by pressing the accelerator pedal.
To return to the programmed speed, simply release the accelerator pedal.
Switching off the ignition cancels any programmed speed value.
Steering mounted controls
The controls of this system are grouped together on stalk A .
1. Cruise control mode selection dial 2. Speed programming / programmed value decrease button 3. Speed programming / programmed value increase button 4. Cruise control off / resume button
Displays in the instrument panel
The programmed information is grouped together in the instrument panel screen.
5. Cruise control off / resume indication 6. Cruise control mode selection indication 7. Programmed speed value
Programming
Turn dial 1 to the "CRUISE" position:
the cruise control mode is selected but is not switched on (OFF).
Set the programmed speed by accelerating to the required speed, then press button 2 or 3 (e.g.: 70 mph (110 km/h)).
You can then change the programmed speed using buttons 2 and 3 :
- by + or - 1 mph (km/h) = short press, - by + or - 5 mph (km/h) = long press, - in steps of + or - 5 mph (km/h) = maintained press.
Switch off the cruise control by pressing button 4 : the display confirms that it has been switched off (OFF).
Switch the cruise control back on by pressing button 4 again.
Exceeding the programmed speed
Intentional or unintentional exceeding of the programmed speed results in flashing of this speed in the screen.
Return to the programmed speed, by means of intentional or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automatically cancels the flashing of the speed.
Return to normal driving
Turn dial 1 to the "0" position: the cruise control mode is deselected. The display returns to the distance recorder.
Operating fault
In the event of a cruise control malfunction, the speed is cleared resulting in flashing of the dashes.
Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.
Latitude varies from −90° to 90°. The latitude of the Equator is 0°; the latitude of the South Pole is −90°; the latitude of the North Pole is 90°. Positive latitude values correspond to the geographic locations north of the Equator (abbrev. N). Negative latitude values correspond to the geographic locations south of the Equator (abbrev. S).
Longitude is counted from the prime meridian ( IERS Reference Meridian for WGS 84) and varies from −180° to 180°. Positive longitude values correspond to the geographic locations east of the prime meridian (abbrev. E). Negative longitude values correspond to the geographic locations west of the prime meridian (abbrev. W).
UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.
Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
